Could have done without some of the language. I think you can write a story without all the swearing

I don't care for all the swearing. I believe you could write without the language especially from a woman. It takes away from the story.

This was a terrific read while taking an extended trip recently. The story line was clear enough that I could resume reading anywhere along the line. Very well written, and a very accurate description of locations in south Minneapolis.

Another good Tami Hoag novel, although I'm missing Liska being part of the team and wonder where she's taking them next. Hoag did a great job tying in the cold case with the current one. I'm looking forward to the next installment and hope I don't have to wait too long!
Desperate Girls :: The 1st Victim :: A Novel (Sam Kovac and Nikki Liska) - Prior Bad Acts :: Guilty as Sin: A Novel (Deer Lake) :: The Alibi Man (Elena Estes)

i have always liked the kovac and liska series - I did however find this one a bit more predictable than normal and maybe a little dull. Don't get me wrong the were some parts of it that were very gruesome/graphic ie opposite to dull etc, but it didn't seem to have that same ''cant put it down'' vibe to it.

A truly cannot put it down thriller. Nothing to dislike in this book. A great read, one that keeps your mind whirling. Anyone thAt enjoys psychological thrillers will want to read this one. Tami Hoag at her best.

A real page turner. I liked the characters and learning about their back stories. I've already recommended. It is a bit gruesome at times so don't read late at night when you are alone, like I did one night.

I'm an avid reader and was pleasantly surprised that the story kept me guessing right to the end. It made me laugh out loud several times and nicely tied up all loose ends.....I would definitely recommend this book!

Two stories intertwine in a fantastic tapestry of families torn apart by a murder, a case never solved because of an inadequate detective and unwilling witnesses. What unravels is a psychopathic story of murder, abuse and secrets.

I always enjoy Hoag's stories. She develops her real people characters, sets the mood, and creates a complicated plot. It pulled me right in. It was one of those books you can't put down, but you don't want it to end. The best kind.

If you want fast moving , gripping book to read, read this one. There is so much intrigue about the past and present you will find this book hard to put down. Do you feel better when you finish this book? Probably not.

Always super crime story and police involve the from hoag. This one different in crime solving, and partnerships, but with same quality of all her books, keep the stories coming Tamil, but do not lose Kodachrome & Lisa.

I always love a mystery that reveals just enough to keep you surprised at the end. This was a good one. Two police mysteries going on at once and lots of odd coincidences make this book a very good read.

Tami Hoag does NOT disappoint! I have several of her books and they are all great! I used to live in Minneapolis and that is why I love Kovac and Liska mysteries so much. It often mentions places that are familiar to me. I'm waiting for the NEXT novel of these 2 detectives!

Always an interesting writer. Very graphic and the reader can imagine the scenes by the details given. The author is one of my favorite writers. I enjoy the relationships between the characters and her ability to keep the reader interested. She certainly kept me reading and the ending was not one I expected! If you enjoy mysteries and thrillers, this book is for you!
