Paranormal romances can be...well, crap. But not these. I thoroughly enjoyed the world that the author has created, and appreciated the building character arcs as the books progressed. The only thing that bothered me was that the first three books became a little repetitive in that there was always the bad guy who wanted to girl and was nasty about it. But then, they weren't the same, one bad guy became a good guy which made me happy becuase he really wasn't that bad, and it wouldn't stop me recommending the books to anyone and everyone who enjoys a good paranormal romance.

I was given a kindle as a gift for christmas. All the authors that I really like, I have already read their books in paper back. So, there wasn't many for me to down load. I turned to a friend of mine that already has a kindle and is an avid reader. She gave me a list of authors that she liked and this book series was there. When I looked at the price, I said... well.. if anything it's only 3.99 for the four books, not really that much money if I don't like them. I am so glad that I did. It was 3.99 well spent. If truth be told, I would have spent more money on the books. They are such great stories. Such great characters. They aren't all hokey like other Werewolf stories. The background of the Werewolves, and vampires, and witches ect.... are very believeable and well thought out. I really recommend this book series and this Author. It grabs you and makes you not want to put the books down. I have already spent many sleepy days at work because I can't put them down. Highly Recommend. And, I will read more books from this Author... great find.

Love this series, good characters, storylines, and hot sex. I am re-reading them all now. Although, I do understand why some reviewers don't like the forcible mating especially in the first 2 books, I can understand why it was done. Given that the characters are not just human and have a different set of rules about claiming their mates did not deter me from the series. I want to be able to disappear in a book's story and immerse myself in it, and that is what this series does and realistically.

To make anything interesting these days, an author has to add a different slant to the paranormal which Heather definitely has done. You will be happy that you bought the bundle, because being able to read the next book quickly will do that -- make you happy! I liked how every story had people that tied into each book and their characters grew as the tale expanded. Adult reading, m/f, fighting, magic, alphas, bad guys, and HEA.

I loved this series, it just got better as the series went on. However, I just finished the vampire king which is a spinoff of this series, and I'm not sure I want to the read the phantom kings ( just finishing the sample). I wish she had just kept going with this series and the people who hadn't hooked up yet and well you'll see when ya read it cause there is more to the story she could continue with. Hot Hot love scenes! whoa..if you love vamp stuff more this is a good cross over cause the were's have to drink your blood. And they are hotter and a little rougher around the edges with that temper of theirs. But this is more than just a romance novel it had a good story line on it that really picks up as it continues in the 2nd book and the 3rd and 4th. Malcolm Cole...yum and he gets way hotter in the second book. Withces, worlocks, weres, vamps this series had it all.
Buy the bundle though cause you get all 4 books for the price of 1.

Heather really knows how to make werewolves sexy! I had no idea about this author, but with the price of this bundle, you can't beat it. I flew through each one and really enjoyed them all. I will be getting more of her books in the future. I also read The Vampire King and enjoyed that one too.

This book bundle was Awesome!!!!! I had a hard time putting it down. It was a great read that made you feel right there in the story. The characters are definitely relatable that one would think it could be your BFF or your neighbor. The story lines are in the here and now which also makes it believable. It definately made you want to become a werewolf! The only thing bad is that the story ended after 4 books... but then onto the companion series.. the Kings!

I have always been a mystical fae and vampire fan, but Heather Killough-Walden has me hooked on werewolves! These four books with their story lines of Alpha males finding, pursuing and claiming their mates was filled with intrigue, suspense, magic and out of this world mating rituals....Wow! I will definitely get the follow up to this series, The Vampire King as soon as I finish this review.

I bought this bundle on a whim and was hooked. The books flow together effortlessly and the storyline progresses very well. You meet important people in the very beginning and it sucks you in. No character just disappears from the story really without explanation and it does not really leave you hanging. If you fell in love with the world created by the author she continues it which makes me like her even more. It's a great buy and awesome read :)

I zoomed through these books and then went right on into her next series, The Kings. These were the first books I read by this author. I loved the characters. I loved how they can have dark sides as well as good sides. I like, how like peope are, they make mistakes and move on. They were like real people in a paranormal world! And the paranormal part of the book was completely entertaining! A very good read, indeed!

I was rather hesitant to read this series due to being more of a vamp girl--but this series really drew me in. The characters are interesting and well developed. The story lines draw you along and keep you wanting to get to the next part. Highly recommend this author for anyone wanting a new twist on a classic theme.

I very much enjoyed this set of 4 alpha wolf stories. I was unable to put this compilation down and each story just got better and better. The stories are written well and "suck you right in"; leaving you wanting and wishing you were a "dormant!" I am so looking forward to the Vampire King story and series next!!

I really loved this story. The author kept me intrigued all the way through. It's funny because I bought this book a few months ago but could not get time to get into it. Glad I took this weekend to start. Once I started I could not put it down. I appreciated how she kept the heroes and heroines from the other stories front in center. It was not overwhelming to the story it truly enhanced it. Loved it....I look forward to reading the new books by this author that continues this series.

OMG!, I loved reading this series so much! I didn't want to stop reading. I read The Vampire King and The Phantom King also. There were a lot of things explained in The Big Bad Wolf books and how things began. I can't wait for The Warlock King to be released! These books are a must read!! :)

each book will introduce you to a strong leading lady, a sexy alpha male and a wild story. Heather Kilough-Walden is an amazingly creative story teller. The Big Bad Wolf Compilation is a sexy, wild read, if you like your men to be manly and your women strong enough to submit to their Alpha Male then you will love this.

After reading the very varying reviews for this compilation I decided to give it a go. I like books about tough alpha males and gutsy heroines so I enjoyed this. The rough sex that Charlie willingly had after being assaulted (and that has been mentioned in numerous reviews) was a bit hard to accept, however the books are about werewolves, vampires and witches, ergo the whole thing is unrealistic! It adds a bit of action into the story and shows the toughness of these werewolf chicks!
Overall these books were good and worth the read. There were quite a few typos which were frustrating - especially when it resulted in information being omitted (such as Lily's profession in the first book - it took me a while to work out that she was a social worker, as the book just said she was "a").

I love the BBW series. Heather Kilough-Walden does a super job of taking me away from everything and taking my breath away. All the aggression, passion and love in her books. With lots of action, control and sexual tension between two mates than the mind blowing sex to finish it all off. I wouldn't let my teenage children read this book but I would give it to my best friend and even my mother and mother in law to read. Heather Kilough- Walden for me is #1 in my top 5 authors along side Karen M Moning, P.C. Cast, Luarrel Hamilton and Stephanie Myers

Story line was good - most of the time. I was getting a little lost at the beginning of the 4th book.
My biggest disappointment was with formating of the books. I know I didn't pay big bucks for it but book covers would have been nice for each one. And what was with the indents? All of a sudden there would be paragraphs a huge section indented for half the page and then back to normal. There were also a whole lot of spelling errors!
It may sound like I'm a little too picky, but it just makes reading a lot easier if the flow was consistent.
I'd share it.

Heather is a genius... she's gone further than any other supernatural werewolf author I've read (and I think I've probably read them all); I never thought I would find an author as good as K. Armstrong, L.J. Smith or R. Vincent - but to say I was blown away with this series is an understatement; you can feel the passion and the pain the joy and the sorrow the love and the hate in these books; they grip you like a vice; leaving you hoping that somehow you could be a dormant and out there is your mate hunting for you.
These books should come with a warning .......... 'Be prepared to forget the rest of the world while reading'. Heather goes to another level and totally believable one regarding the creation of other supernatural beings (don't want to spoil what ones - read the books, you won't be disappointed); she's re-wrote the history books on that level.
I was left completely satisfied, yet wanting more... Yes she can write more books to this series and I hope she does - and as for a movie - these books were wrote to be a movie - I say move over Twilight / Vampire Diaries Heather has rightfully earned the crown now and long may she reign.

I have long been a fan of paranormal romance, especially anything to do with vamps and werewolves and that mystical world they inhabit. The author captured that world and made it her own. I love the unique twist she put on her were-wolves. These are not just your run of the mill full-moon-howling types. They have some very unique powers, gifts, and curses. But you will have to read the books to find out what they are. If you are looking for a book with a strong minded, brave heroine, a dangerous, sexy aplpha male with some extraordinary mystical traits, some action, suspense, and romance you are in the right place. Heather Killough-Walden delivers and keeps you coming back for more. From the first book I was hooked and now I will be a fan for life. I rank Heather Killough-Walden up there with Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, J.R. Ward, and Kresley Cole. If you love any of those authors then you will love Heather Killough-Walden.

This author doesn't give the heroine and hero much time to fall in love. When do they actually fall in love? it seems to me, for the first two books that I have read, that the hero and heroine only meet about 3 or 4 times throughout the book and suddenly they are in love and mated. When do they get to know each other? when do they find out about each others characters? It also seems that the women in these books get kidnapped, stolen, chased, moved from one place to another too much for my taste. I don't like the idea that if a werewolf wants a girl, he just goes off and marks her without any regard to her feelings. To "protect" her. It is so anti-climatic. I want laughs and secret desires, I want real contact and conflict between the leads, I want romance and tenderness, I want the lust to build up and become unbearable before ever getting to marking and mating.
I do not know if the 3rd and 4th books are any good but since I bought the compilation I guess I will read them. But if the other books have this same formula, I am not looking forward to them.

Ms. Killough-Walken has been a well kept secret up until now. What a generous writer! She flushes out every major character. She gives so much more than your money's worth. Her stories are original. When you finish reading you are satisfied, but can't wait to purchase her next book!

If you are a fan of extreme cruelty, this is the book for you. Everyone is nearly beaten to death on almost every page. If you add in bad guys (who are actually good) and good guys (who are extremely evil) and all of the sadistic scenes it's still a waste of time to read these books.
I read them because I paid for them and kept hoping for a better read....Didn't happen.
I think these are the only books I have ever read that the love scene bordered so close to violence that I was appalled. The werewolf biting into and sucking his lady love nearly dead in a bloody slurp was too much to picture.
I will strike this author from my reading list. She is much to into sadistic, masochistic and salacious scenes for me.

This is my first time writing a review, but there were so many good reviews of this series that I just had to contribute to the discussion. Let me say that I love paranormal, romance, vampire, werewolves, erotica, etc. So this book was "right up my alley" so to speak. So I'm not judging the book on it's content. But, the book was VERY poorly edited. There are so many grammatical errors it was driving me nuts. I'm no grammar Nazi but even I was annoyed that for example, in the first book, when Lily says what her occupation is, the word is not there!!! "Lily knew that her work as a helped her" As a what??? It was so frustrating!
The other issue I had with the books is that they are the same story just different couples! I'm sorry, but after reading the 1st book and then the 2nd I really did not need the 3rd book to drive down this point: werewolf finds mate, another man wants his mate, then he fights for her and voilà they have hot steamy sex at the end. I'm now on book 4 and it seems like it's a little different but I'm bored.
I guess I might be someone who is complaining that a porno has no plot, but I expected more.

The very FIRST Heather Killough Walden book I ever picked up just so happened to be the very first chapter of this AMAZING series "The Heat". From page 1 I was hooked. I devoured this series like a starving puppy. At the time the first 3 were the only ones out, but I had other HKW books to occupy the time before "The Hunt". I am just a HUGE fan of this author, she is most definitely in my top 3 authors to follow and I LOVE how all her books are long and so worth the price. I would pay more to read her stuff that's how much I LOVE her stories. This set of BBW is the best compilation of books to get and the price, really, how can you beat over 4 thousand pages for 4 bux? simple, you just can't. Go forth fellow readers, go forth and discover the world of Lily and Daniel, Claire and Malcolm, Lucas and Dani, and Byron and Katherine. You will NOT be disappointed and will be recommending this series to all your friends, while your at it, just go ahead and buy all her books, save the time of going back online to find a new read, lol.

Do not absolutely do not read if you like a strong female heroin. Ummm all these books have a very weak female influence, and these males are rapists. I enjoy a BDSM book like E.L James or S.E Lund but these books are absolutely stupid. Do not read if you're into E.L James or SE Lund, because these books are weak and poorly written I barely made it through the 2nd book and stopped. I would say I like werewolf shifter books and vampires but not nonsense like this.

I was disappointed given all these glowing reviews. I do not think that the author is a particularly good writer. She uses a lot of the same descriptions, so that after a while the books become predictible and boring. I've read other formula-based series like this that are way better at keeping you interested so I know that more skilled authors can deliver even given the constraints of the genre. Also, her characters are not compelling and she did not make me care about any of them. These type of books are supposed to be a fun, quick read. The read is quick because these are not full length novels, but the fun was lacking. I will not be picking up any of her other works.

I really tried to give these stories a chance but I just couldn't finish them. I understand they are short stories, but there was no character development, the plots were rushed, no romance! No tender feelings, just chemical attraction. Didn't like it. Would not recommend.

Let's just say that it should have been advertised as having cruelty towards women and their physical abuse, not only from their kidnappers, BUT from the MATES as well. I read all kinds of PRN and erotica: N. Singh, C. Eden, S. Walker, F. Heaton and K. Arthur.
I guess I am more upset that I purchased a book that had no warnings about the brutality. This is not a romance. I love an Alpha wolf just as much as all the other erotica readers; but not when the Alpha throws his "mate" across the room and likes to crush her throat and almost strangle her into submission. I like a little dominance in the smex but not cruelty. The author even writes that the male has a cruel smile on his face when he is dominating his mate. WTH? That's romance? Love? I guess I'm the black sheep in all these reviews. To be honest, the sex scenes aren't even all that graphic.
Most of the time the characters aren't even written together. They are together for a scene in the beginning and then another horrible almost-rape scene at the end by their MATE; but magically they love each other after he brutalizes her. Say what?? Dominance, sure. Cruelty, no.
Another note, the author confuses the reader by constantly using the character's first AND last name. *For.every.single.character. I've never encountered this before and it was confusing and distracting.
I didn't even make it through the second book. The second one totally ruined any hope. I don't write many reviews but I am an avid romance/erotica reader. I just don't get this kind of writing.
*** If you want dominant males and smex, without the choke-hold, read S. Laurenston's books or the other author's I mentioned.

THE HEAT
I did not like this book as much as i did The Vampire King''',
the book started off slow and stayed all overt the place, the lead character is Lily she comes back to town and instantly two alpha wolves know that she is a dormant, so they both want her, one is Daniel Kane police chief and Malcolm Cole Crime writer,
the story then goes to the murders that have been happening in the town then to Lily getting kidnapped several times and she finds out that she is a seer. the story is just not on point it lacks in us getting to know Lily as well as Daniel and Lily's bff Tabitha,
i am now starting The Strip also by the same author so i have my fingers crossed because The Vampire King was such a great book.
****** i think the book is worth reading to get in to the werewolves series which leads into the next series, so happy reading. ''''
THE STRIP
this book is somewhat better than the The Heat, its about Charlie short for Claire and Malcolm Cole ( from The Heat) Malcolm wants Claire who is his mate, but someone else wants her to, the book is similar to The Heat, *** the book has a lot of violence towards women in it and Charlie was the one getting her butt kicked through out the story, i thought she was a bit to much in need of being saved, i do like the fact that her and Lily become friends as well as Danny the character in the next installment The Spell,

These books got pretty good reviews and I love stories about werewolves so I was excited to read these. These are very light on any kind of romance, actually I can't think of a single "romantic" thing that happened. The books are pretty much the same, men find their mates, they mark them, they are separated from them for a period of time and then they reconnect at the end. There's a lot of side stories going on and I had to skip many parts to get back to scences with our hero/heroine. There's no scenes of them getting to know one another, it's mostly about sex and domination. NO ROMANCE. It's just not my type of story. I read romances for the connection between two people, these stories had a coldness about them. I wouldn't recommend these books if you are looking for love/tenderness/romance. Her follow up book is about the vampire king and it has good reviews too, but there's no way i'm falling for that again. I figure if this writer didn't improve from book 1-4 in this series, it's gonna be the same thing with her next book.

The best part about this bundle was the price. I love fantasy romance stories and have read plenty, and overall the first book was alright. It's easy reading with werewolves and magic, and sexual tension thrown in. However, there was quite a bit of violent sex, even between "mates" meant to be together it was not romantic, just rushed and all about the man's unbridled desire. If I had just read the first book, I might have been more optimistic about the sequels or given it one more star, but my main disappointment was that all four stories were the same plot with different character names. There were no surprises, the plot was predictable, and the same descriptions were even given to everyone. They all chew on their cheek, they all run their hands through their blue-black hair, and all the women make dumb decisions to cause more problems for everyone. I thought this was my first time reading this author, until I looked at my kindle library and realized I did read one book by her a year ago and did not like it. I expected more based on the other reviewers' comments, and would probably give it 2 1/2 stars. It was entertaining enough, but I will not purchase any of the author's other books now that I remember her name! For excellent fantasy with detailed character development and complex plots, I prefer Richelle Mead or Brent Weeks. If you've read and dislike them, then maybe you'll like the Big Bad Wolf Series more than me.

As a fan of the time travel romances of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series and the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris for the sense of lived history from the well-researched former, and the sense of camp satire of racism and classism, particularly in the deep South of our country, I expected something as readable and redeemable in this series. The Big Bad Wolf Romance Compilation was touted in several magazines I read, so I expected to be mesmerized. The writing was so limited, the first paragraphs being descriptions of a sexy male in a way that exaggerated sexuality so much that I couldn't read it. Sex is great, sexy people are great, but the beginning, middle and end of all life? Not so much. Maybe this would be tittilating for people beginning to understand their sexuality. For me? I couldn't read it.

To preface this review - note that I just finished the Premonition Series (waiting for book 4) by Amy Bartol and LOVED them - so perhaps my expectations were too high. Also this review does not ruin the book for you at all so don't be afraid to read it.
I was looking for another book to read and this series popped up. I read the description and thought it might be good and because it was only 3.99 - I thought it was worth it. Ugh, I had absolutely no connection to the characters at all. I had no idea why I should root for Lily or Daniel to be together or honestly, why I should care whether Cole got Lily or not. The book did not allow for the reader (in my opinion) to get to know the characters and therefore, it didn't make me connect with the book at all. I did not like how the author writes from multiple perspectives - one minute you are with Lily, the next - Daniel - then Daniel's sister - then Valentine - it was crazy and I don't think I like that writing style.
I finished book 1 of the series and I honestly don't think I can read anymore. I don't typically abandon a series of books but I just don't think I can go on. If I have to read one more time, "she was his mate," "he was looking for his mate," "where was his mate..." or "ran fingers through the hair in frustration" a million times in the book - I'll die. Also, if I'm rooting for a couple to be together - shouldn't I actually see them together more than 2 times? I mean, Lily and Daniel rarely interacted in the book - it was completely confusing to me. And to be honest, I can't take seriously that they are werewolves - perhaps that's my biggest problem.
It's not a book for me - but that's not to say that it's not a book for you. It's also cheap - so if you want to check it out, it won't break the bank.

I really wanted to enjoy these books as a bit of escapism but each plot was quite repetitive and boring as a result. On top of this the graphic elements were not to my personal taste but that doesn't mean they won't suit others.

I'm always looking for new paranormal series (especially werewolves and vampires), so was excited to see the good reviews that this series had garnered, not to mention the unbeatable price. Unfortunately, these books were WAY too violent for me - especially book 2, after which I stopped reading, because I just couldn't take any more. As other reviewers have noted, everyone seems to be violent - not just the villains but also the supposed heroes. If this stuff excites you, go right ahead and read these books, but I personally prefer my romances just a tad more tame and less horrific. I will not be reading any additional books by this author.

I managed to get through The Heat...just barely. There was no romance in the book, just sex and violence and the author seems more comfortable describing the violence than she does the sex. Lily is victimized and abused by all three of the primary male characters, one of whom actually claims to "love" her. Love her? Spare me, please. I won't be wasting my time trying to read the rest of novels in this compilation.

I put this book down. Maybe I will read it later. But there were multiple POVs that distracted me from the story. I am the kind of reader that can take two at the most. Then I know where I am. Jumping about did not sit well with me as I did not have time to connect with the characters so I ending up not caring about any of them.

The writing is lackluster and I kept having to drag my attention back to it, I kept thinking about what I was going to read next, not at all a good sign, got to the point where I encountered the love triangle and I was done, no thank you. Do most women actually want to have two men lusting and fighting over them? Doesn't that take a lot of freaking energy? Ugh, wouldn't care for that irl and have less than no desire to read about it. Then again, maybe if the writing and the storyline had been good enough, I may have given it another chance, it's bloody uninspiring is what it is.

I bought this series because it was inexpensive and received good reviews. Be warned, I've read plenty of romances before but this series makes most of them look like high literature. I made it through the first two books but I just can't read any more of them. The plot was bad and the characters were unbelievable. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone who does want to read them so I won't go into detail but after reading the epilogue, I had to wonder why the characters were even together. They made a return in the second book and that didn't reassure me that their "romance" was any better at that point. I've never written a review before, but I felt the need after being drawn in myself by the good reviews on this series.

I am an avid read of, well, pretty much all things, but my heart belongs to the paranormal/sci-fi/fantasy genre. I do not understand how people even got through the first book, it is so terrible. There is no real chemistry between the characters, and the plot is severely lacking. I bought the combo of books because it was such a good price, however, it ended up being such a waste of money since I cannot convince myself to read any further than the first book.

Ignoring the editing issues and formatting ones, the story was blah. The characters weren't believable, the plot weak and underdeveloped. I made it thru the first, part of the second, then skimmed the last two. Not sure how it got so popular.

The Heat:
This was the first book that I had ever read of Heathers and it will always be one of my favorites! This book had sucked me into the wonderful creativeness of Heather!
Lily just moved back to her hometown and not long after she returns see's her old crush Daniel. Daniel let Lily go once because his sister asked him to and he didn't realize she was his mate. But now that she is back he can't let her go again. But there are more players here. There are others who want Lily and will do anything to get her. Because Lily is a Dormant. A female who can give a male werewolf children. Due to a curse female wolves cannot shift and cannot give a male wolf children unless she also happens to be a Dormant.
I definitely recommend reading this book. In my opinion Heather is very creative and her books are so hard to put down!
The Strip:
Charlie is a Dormant. She has been dreaming of two men. Her possible mates. As Dormants are so rare anymore they now have two possible mates. One of them will be her perfect mate. The other only wants to hurt her. There are so many wonderful moments to this big. Some OMG moments. Charlie is more involved in the Werewolf community then she knows. She has many allies that she never knew of and there are many people who will try to help keep her safe when she is in severe danger.
I highly recommend reading this book. It could possibly be read as a stand alone but will make a lot more sense if you read the first book in the series first. " The Heat " This book is by far one of my favorites in the BBW series. Charlie is an amazing person and has in the past and will during this book go through so much. I love strong women and Charlie is about as strong as they come! Heather has once again written a wonderful book that I could not put down until it was done. Then I wanted more!
Danni is a witch. A very strong witch. A Healer. She is also a Dormant. She can hide this fact though because she had been told that if she were to mate with a werewolf she would lose her power. So when the wolf she has been dreaming of comes to town and his interest in her is plain as day she gets scared.
Lucas hates magic. So imagine his surprise when he discovers that the woman he finds so attractive is not only a witch but a Dormant also. His mate.
There is another who wants Danni too. Jason. And Jason will go to any lengths to make Danni his.
This book was amazing! Another amazing book by Heather! Yes I am a huge fan of Heathers and I do gush but I have honestly LOVED every book of hers that I have read. If there were something I did not like I would say it but I have not seen that in Heathers work. I would definitely recommend reading this book along with the rest of the series. This one also could probably be read as a stand alone but will be less confusing if you read the books in order. Book 1: The Heat.. Book 2: The Strip
The Hunt:
Kat is a hunter. She hunts and kills werewolves. What she does not know is that she is a Dormant.
Byron is Lucas's brother. He has been held prisoner for 50 years by a Vampire. When something happens and he is able to get free he runs into Kat and realizes what she is. That she's a hunter but also his mate. They both end up getting captured by the Hunters who are in chaos right now because they do not have a leader.
Kat eventually realizes how wrong she was and to make amends she will have make the ultimate sacrifice. Can she do it? And how will it make an impact?
This was another great one. I did like the other three a bit more than this one but my enjoyment of the book was still high up there. I once again highly recommend this book and again it could be read as a stand alone but I do suggest reading the first three books first.. Book 1: The Heat, Book 2: The Strip, Book 3: The Spell .... All of these men are deliciously Alpha Byron maybe a bit more so as he has been a prisoner and forced to do things for so long. And he would do anything to protect his mate.

I bought the compilation of books 1-4 because of the cheap prices and good reviews. I've only read through book two, but I think I am finished with this series. Be forewarned. The first two books, especially the second, were written for people who like their sex combined with violence. Even in the love scenes between the two protagonists, he puts his arm against her neck and slowly cuts off her breathing, what? I guess the only difference between the good guy and bad guy is the bad one actually makes her pass out from lack of oxygen.
And for kicks, the heroine is tortured in book 2 as in sadistically and violently. Yet the next day, her mate is slamming her around the room during a sexual encounter. I realize the author described the heroine as liking rough sex, but going from being tortured and sexually abused one day to be tossed around the next was pretty unbelievable. The author apparently didn't even conceive that her heroine might have psychological issues to deal with? That actually might have made the book more interesting. Give it a pass.

The first book, The Heat, in The Big Bad Wolf Series, is about Lily St. Claire. She is a nice Southern girl who comes back home to Louisiana after being away for 10 years. She gets caught between two extremely hot alpha werewolves. Both Alphas' start fighting over her to claim her as their mate. This book contains hot romance, great action, mystery and enough testosterone to fill a full moon. You will love it. It is fast paced and you will burn through it quickly. You'll want to pick up the other three books in the series.
The second book, The Strip, in The Big Bad Wolf Series, is about Malcolm Cole who is a gorgeous Alpha werewolf. He is extremely powerful and never thought he would ever find someone to love and be his mate. He meets Claire St. James and sets his sight on to be his mate. I can't begin to tell you how hot Malcolm Cole is. You will be caught up in a hot romance with lots of action.
The third book, The Spell, in The Big Bad Wolf Series, is about Dannai, known as the Healer, and she starts dreaming about two werewolves. One of them is Lucas Caige and he just has to make her his mate. The action and romance just keeps getting better in this series. This is a page turner and it will keep you up late at night because you won't be able to put it down until you're finished. Next thing you know, the sun is hitting you in the face and once again you have stayed up all night because you have lost all track of time. This world, Ms. Killough-Walden creates just fills you with joy and reading this series will make you happy.
The the fourth book, The Hunt, in The Big Bad Wolf Series, is about Byron Caige who is a werewolf who has been a prisoner for over 50 years. When he finally gives up hope that he will ever be free and find a mate he gets rescued by Katherine Dare. This begins a wonderful story of romance, war and action. I loved this book. It is so full of characters that seem so real that you forget you reading fiction. Ms. Killough-Walden has a tremendous talent to make her characters world come to life and every word flows into your mind and makes them come to life. This book spins off the next series, The Kings.

I now understand why it only cost $4 to purchase 4 of this author's books. The author brutalizes her female characters. How much sense does it make to put a mark on the Dormants, to keep other Alpha Wolves away, that hurts the Dorman & not the Alpha attempting to touch them? I found myself wondering what decade this women lives in to portray women as subservient & needing men to rescue them at every turn. She has created a world where it does not matter what the female characters want. If the males want them they have no choice in the matter. These books, the second in particular, pissed me off about as much as The Scarlet Letter did when I read it. I will not waste another cent on anything written by this author.

HKW takes the traditional "things that go bump in the night" and gives us her own unique take on them. She is very thorough and creative in her world building. The mythos behind the existence, creation and daily lives of werewolves, witches, vampires and the like has some very original twists. She keeps the storyline tight and builds a fast pace for the drama. I read some of the critical reviews, and while the plot can be dark at times, I felt that she had done such a thorough job with character building the motivations were clear. The violence did not feel gratuitous, but part of the world and characters that she created for us, the readers. I purchased and read these books separately...the bundle is a bargain.

Book 1 - The Heat:
Would you believe me if I told you I'm not exactly sure how many times I've read this book? The sad thing is that I've read it several times and this is the first time that I've reviewed it. Sure, I've rated it so people know that I liked it, but this is the first time that I've actually sat down and put into words why I liked it. For that I owe not only Heather Killough-Walden an apology, but also potential readers as well. Like I said, that's what my Deja Vu Review posts are all about. I'm trying to rectify that lapse in reviews. The fact that I get to go back and read some of my favorites is just an added bonus. *sigh*
The Heat is the first book in Heather Killough-Walden's Big Bad Wolf Series and an introduction that got me hooked. As I read further into the series, I realized that even though I fell in love with the characters, it didn't end up being my favorite. That happens to me a lot in series though so it's no reflection on the book at all. It's just the nature of the beast. First books lay a lot of ground work. Even though there isn't a tremendous amount of that in The Heat, it's still there.
Readers need to know that this book is definitely not for everyone. The alpha males in this book are very `alpha' and at times borderline abusive. If you're not a reader who is used to that strong sense of ownership and protection that comes from a book centered around that mind set, you might as well not pick this one up. There is a lot of violence and abuse that happens in this story. It brings out the strength and determination in Lily and it shows readers exactly how strong the bond is between an alpha and his chosen mate. It's raw, powerful and intense. If you can get past all that, it's also funny, romantic and an easy, quick read. It's a great introduction to the world that Heather has created.
If you continue reading the series and following these alphas you'll discover something else about Heather's writing and story lines. She's extremely good and making you change your mind about characters that you thought that you were supposed to hate. It doesn't happen right away. There are still aspects of the character that you don't quite trust, but eventually you unexpectedly find yourself changing your attitude. It really took me by surprise the first time it happened, but now I've come to expect it. The beauty of it is, you never know exactly where your loyalty is going to lie next. I think that's what I like so much about this series and others that Heather has written. They are never predictable or cut and dry. I'm also sure that's why I like to go back and re-read them. It helps me remember why I thought I should hate the characters in the first place.
Book 2 - The Strip:
I'm not sure if this is the 3rd or 4th time that I've read through this series. I seem to get wrapped up in it every time I do, so it doesn't really matter. Part of the reason why I like The Strip is because of Malcolm Cole. It seems almost wrong to like him as a character since he was the bad guy in The Heat, but that's part of what makes it so good. I love it when an author can turn your attitude toward a character around totally. Turns out Heather is a pro at it. ;)
Talk about damaged characters. Charlie is one of the most heartbreaking characters Heather has written so far. She lost her parents, she's physically attacked more than once and the only person who seems to be able to make her physically strong enough to fight back uses mental and physical abuse to get the job done. She has a close core of very good, protective friends, but they can only do so much, especially when the bad guys even start chasing her in her dreams. What's worse is, she's about to find out that she is part of a world she never even knew existed.
Then there is Malcolm. He is damaged as well, but hides it behind his tough exterior. Lily saw through it, even though he kidnapped her and tried to break her. I think that's what won me over. That, and there is no character more Alpha or respected by his pack than Malcolm Cole. He was still brass, opinionated, domineering and cruel, but you could even see that toughness slowly melt when it came to Charlie. It started out as the same type of scenario that drove him to capture Lily, but then it turned into so much more. The protective mate came out in him and that changed everything.
The twists and turns in this one keep the pages turning. Even after reading it more than once, I had a hard time putting it down. Sometimes knowing what is coming is even worse. I also loved getting to know characters from previous books a little better. The subtle foreshadowing gives you a hint of things to come. The snarkiness between Malcolm and Lily was fun too. I love those two together. After all they went through in The Heat, that should be so wrong, but I can't help it.
There are aspects of these books that are hard to read. The abuse and violence is sometimes raw to the point of being painful. These characters suffer, mostly at the hands of pure evil. As hard as it is to read, I don't think the outcome would be the same if it was totally left out. I don't condone this type of abuse, and by writing about it, I don't assume that the author does either. These books aren't for everyone, as I've said before and not just about the Big Bad Wolf series, but about others as well. The concept of the Alpha is what it is. They are strong, domineering, powerful and fierce. They are also protective, love unconditionally and are fiercely loyal when it comes to their mate. It's a totally different world and Heather does a great job of bringing out the pain and beauty of both aspects. Sometimes there's a fine line between good and evil in both fantasy and reality.

This compilation contains the types of novels where, when the phone rings, or the conductor announces your stop (or you miss your stop), or you suddenly remember that the kids need to eat and the dog has to go out, and you just can't ignore that anymore, setting a story down brings a sort of culture shock. It's like stepping back into the real world from this seemingly intense visit to another one, seductive, thrilling, and filled with beautiful, stunning scenery - and sexy, stunning werewolves, witches and warlocks. The author, Heather Killough-Walden, accomplishes this over and over, story after story, which is why I have read everything she has written. She creates worlds and fills them with her own forms of magic, her own vocabulary and the rules and intricacies to keep a reader at ease in them. One thing her novels never are is predictable. She is a storyteller in the grandest tradition, and above all that is what you will always get with one of her books - a great story.
The BBW series begins in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with "The Heat." Lily St. Claire has just returned to town with a degree in social work and while she has been away her school girl crush, the upper classman, black-haired, blue eyed, all around heartthrob Daniel Kane, has worked his way up the police force to become police chief of Baton Rouge. Kane is a werewolf, who rides a Harley Night Train, has the body you would expect of the alpha wolf he is, and the southern charm, "eh cher?" to leave this reader breathless. Lily has been dreaming about him since high school, dreams in which he turns into a wolf, the signal that she is his dormant, his intended, once-in-a-lifetime mate. Lily doesn't know that's what this means, and it isn't until her return that Daniel finds out, just as he and his Baton Rouge police force, mainly composed of the wolves of his pack, are faced with a series of horrible, high profile crimes. Daniel senses another wolf is after Lily, one who might even be the murderer striking the city and he feels forced as the alpha he is to mark and make her his own - he just never gets around to asking Lily. But life gets even more complicated in Baton Rouge, and the bond between Daniel and Lily is severely tested.
Onto Vegas. In the second book in the series, "The Strip," we meet many of characters from "The Heat" again in lesser roles, except one character takes on a starring role - the best-selling author, Malcolm Cole. Cole is a very strong alpha wolf who has been struggling under a terrible gypsy's curse and is so horribly lonely that he is almost solely focused on finding his dormant. There is a real poignancy to Cole, even as he engages in some barely forgivable behavior. That is something else about Killough-Walden's writing: her characters have emotional lives that in the best moments hit you hard. "The Strip" is the story of Malcolm Cole and his dormant, Claire (Charlie) St. James, a drummer in a rock band. Cole recognizes her as his dormant fairly quickly, and Charlie has her dreams of a green-eyed man who changes into a wolf. But given the scarcity of dormants, it is not a surprise that there is another wolf set on Charlie, and where Cole can be ruthless, this wolf tends towards the sadistic. I don't want to reveal his name as that might be a spoiler, but I find nothing redeemable about him. He is just nasty and he loves his nastiness and he calls in magic users to make him even nastier. Of course, this makes him a great villain. Cole can't save Charlie alone, but fortunately the rest of the wolf community is there to help.
The third book, The Spell, takes place mostly in Trinidad, California and has left me with a huge desire to visit the area and see the redwood forests amidst the fog, and the ocean. The author brings the lesser elements of magic from the earlier novels to the forefront here. Dannai, a witch with rare healing abilities, has been dreaming of two wolves, one of whom is Lucas Caige, an alpha who has been traveling on his own for many years trying to find the killer of his older brother. He finally decides to settle down for awhile in this beautiful ocean town. But his older brother was killed by black magic, and therefore he is known to hate magic. Dannai knows him well from her dreams and immediately recognizes him when she comes across him. Upon seeing him she desperately attempts to keep her magic shielded so he will give her a chance. But w-a-a-ay too much goes on with her coven and the werewolf community for a witch of her gifts to remain shielded for long. Once again, the characters from the earlier books are part of the story, even more so in this one. But this is mainly the story of Dannai and Lucas.
Finally, the fourth book is "The Hunt" and it tells the story of Byron and Kat, an alpha wolf held captive by magic and chains for fifty years by a spoiled vampire princess. He is unwittingly rescued by the very Hunter who has spent her life trying to find him and seek revenge for the killing of her father. At the same time she has been having a dormant's dreams of a handsome man who turns into a handsome black wolf, but she has to ultimately be convinced of her destiny. Katherine Dare is the most emotionally realized of all Killough-Walden's dormants, in my opinion. Her motivations, her memories, her unresolved sense of loss, are revealed so effectively, as is her mindset in general. Byron also has his own demons to deal with, as well as learning about the world in the 21st Century. Much of the story involves the relationship between these two as they wind up on the run together. Byron has black hair, stormy gray eyes, and the physique of an alpha. Kat is a natural beauty with white-blonde hair, indigo eyes and with the athletic build of a Hunter. But as all of the BBW stories are, this story is heavy on action as the characters we now know so well from the other stories join in to fight their biggest battle yet. One their entire race ultimately depends upon.
If this seems like a lot, I have barely scratched the surface. Remember, these are four separate novels, with four very different stories and with a cast of characters that comes together as it grows. One caveat, these are ultimately wolves. Mating habits can get rough, and anything less wouldn't make much sense. Both male and female characters have an otherworldly sexual drive at times. Watch a documentary on wolves and you will see the combination of tenderness and rough play. This is a great compilation as so many reviewers have attested to. Just clear as much of your calendar as you can to read it because you won't want to stop once you've started.

This is undoubtedly the best werewolf series I've ever read and I've read many! Although the compilation is around 4000 pages, it got me so hooked into it that I read it in 2 days after work. Yes, I hardly slept.
The compilation consists of all four books in the series - The Heat, The Strip, The Spell and The Hunt. Each story tells of a unique woman with magickal or shifter capabilities and their romance with handsome and dangerous, previously 'hard to get' shifters. Yes, that is a fairly standard plot. But the beauty of the compilation is not in the plot but in the telling of the tale and the world Killough-Walden created around them. It contains many elements that I look for in a paranormal read - magick, intriguing secondary and peripheral characters and the right combination of fantasy and realism so that a reader is allowed to truly escape into the book while being able to relate to the characters' vulnerabilities.
The compilation is not so much a revelation in that it has a new angle to werewolves. I personally found that it stuck to a lot of the tried and tested literary myths concerning these shifters. Reading this was a helluva ride and I won't forget it. In fact I haven't forgotten it although I read this compilation months ago.
On a different note, I appreciate what this compilation represents. I admit that when I picked it up I was curious as to what standard of writing obtained Killough-Walden the NY Bestseller status with this series. I was prepared to enjoy it but I wasn't prepared to be sucked into it so thoroughly. It is undoubtedly a must-read for any werewolf fans. I don't think you can truly say that you're a fan of paranormal romance without at least sampling this series. After having read this, I believe that Killough-Walden has earned the accolades that she's achieved. And as an indie writer, I take umbrage in that and just like this compilation 'kicks proverbial', it reinforces the belief in me that indie writers are on their way to making a significant difference in the literary world.

Loved this sexy werewolf compilation series! I couldn't put it down. The first `story' is about Lily, Daniel & Malcolm; it's just fun, strong, sexy, & steamy. It was such a good adventure with love, lust & a bit of romance (motorcycle riding kind). Love the dazzling description of the lead male characters eyes, oh - so sexy! The next adventure just keeps getting better. In this part Malcolm returns & we meet Claire. The sex, suspense, thrills, romance, love, action, lust...it was fabulous! I just love werewolves. HKW paints a picture with words so well, the characters come alive clearly in my mind. Just loved reading this, I don't want to put it down! With the next `story' the great adventure continues, we focus on Dani & Lucas. HKW weaves new & old characters together expertly. Great story - thrills, action, love, sex...I just need some rock & roll songs playing while I read!!! Such a turn on! The last section of the series was great, exciting, sexy, fabulous, erotic & fun! Oh boy was it sexy! It was very exciting, lots of action, twists & turns. I loved the vampire action thrown into the mix. I really enjoyed the story. Byron & Kat are very strong characters. Loved the passion, desire, hunger, awakening, strength & sex! Thanks so much for writing a great series.

I read all 4 of these books almost a year ago, so I paid for them individually. All 4 for only $3.99 (Kindle Edition) is a STEAL!! Ms. Walden has created a wonderful world to visit when your own life is taking its toll. Love, romance, fantastical settings, suspense, action, thrilling, and extremely sexy. What better way to brush off the real world, if only for a few chapters. The only thing I can imagine better than reading about these BBW's is seeing them on the Big Screen!!
I'm not ashamed to admit that I loved Twilight books, in fact they were the FIRST vampire books that didn't scared the crap out of me and directed me to the wonderful world of Heather Killough-Walden and the fantastic genre of fantasy, adult romance! I'm not ashamed to admit that I loved Twilight books, in fact they were the FIRST vampire books that didn't scared the crap out of me and directed me to the wonderful world of Heather Killough-Walden and the fantastic genre of fantasy, adult romance! I really enjoyed 'The Heat' the first book of 'The Big Bad Wolf Series'. There wasn't a whole lot of sex in this book, but as I read the book I could feel the sizzle between Lily and Daniel. Daniel an alpha wolf realizes that Lily is his mate, and tries to protect her from another alpha wolf Malcolm Cole who also wants claim Lily. Malcolm is so deliciously evil and cunning, but we come to learn that he suffers from sins he didn't commit. The book was fresh, exciting, and hands down one of the better alpha male wolf stories that keep springing up like daisies. If I could review 'The Heat' by itself I would have given it 5 stars.
I read the second book in the series The Strip and I was less than enchanted. This book is about my beloved Malcolm Cole and Claire St. James. There seemed to be a huge amount of violence toward women which killed the story for me. Claire was supposed to be so skilled and powerful in her own right, but she still kept getting the snot beat out of her and had to be saved (I really get tired of the I'm so helpless please save me story). I had to force myself to finish the second story because I hoped that it would improve. I gave this story three stars.
The author is a fantastic story teller and I may look at some of her other books, but I gave up on 'The Big Bad Wolf Series'. With five stars for 'The Heat' and three stars for 'The Strip' I rate 'The Big Bad Wolf Series' with an average of four stars.

This is the first series by Heather that I read and I was hooked on her books from here on out. The alpha males are looking for their dormant mates which is a new and fresh take on werewolves all in itself. The females are dormant and most don't even know about werewolves. They have dreams about them usually more than one. The alphas have to prove who is a worthy mate for the females. This series is full of action, lots of alpha werewolf testosterone, witches, strong independent dormants, warlock, hunter, and vampires. It is a paranormal lovers dream come true. This is a must read for anyone who loves a good supernatural romance.

HKW spins a world where the characters in every story captivate you. From page one through indefinitely! The adrenaline packed journey you're taken on will have you clutching these novels in a death grip trying to squeeze the life out of the villians yourself! My poor kindle endured some abuse. There were moments I consumed this book with one eye closed and a squeel lodged in my throat. Lets just say there are two kinds of bad boys. Bad as in evil vile need to be put down, then there are HKW's bad boys that are oh so good. ;) If you love an edge of your seat, action packed, page turner THIS SERIES IS FOR U. The ONLY drawback is... prepare to neglect your home and possibly family until this series is complete! Fall in love. Fall in hate(bad guys). Just be prepared to fall. And what a lovely fall it is...

These books have just taken me by surprise! I started with The Vampire King and then just HAD to go back and find out all I could about these amazing characters in this seductive and wild world! I love the whole feeling of excitement that purrs through you as you read these words! Her writing style is on the more dangerous and darker side of romance, and there are so many powerful scenes that will draw you in and refuse to release you! I am very excited and on the edge of my chair waiting for more from HKW!! Absolutely loved it!

This is the most amazing wolf series. Just reading the reviews has me reaching for my Kindle to reread the series! I was surfing the the store site for new reading material & found Heather's book The Heat. OMG! I don't think I was finished & was downloading the next book, The Strip. As soon as I was about to finish this book I quickly downloaded The Spell. I was on pins & needles waiting for The Hunt to download. It was worth the wait, but I will say I was sad that the series wasn't continuing. Heather brought all her characters to life & I so enjoyed reading about their lives & their expanding circle of friends & family. Having all 4 books in one download means no waiting to jump into the next adventure for those who haven't read the series yet. I hope more will grab this book up & be hooked on Heather like I have been. Can't wait for her next book, I know it was be fantastic. I tell everyone I can how great she 'spins a tail' :-)

Now that I have read this whole series I can honestly say, BRAVO HEATHER. I love each and every book in the series. The writing is remarkable. The characters are strong and you grow to love them. I actually miss them now that the series is finished. Every Heather Killough-Walden book I have read has been AWESOME. You are missing out if you haven't read any of her books. Love You Heather, keep writing for us. Get out there and buy her books. J. Vasquez

I have read nearly all of Heather Killough-Walden's books and the Big Bad Wolf Series is perhaps one of my favorites. Each of the books is an entity unto itself, but builds on the previous book.
Each of the four mated pairs is quite different from the others with their own struggles and their own powers.
She masterfully shows the aggression of an alpha male and the strengths of their intended mates while bringing love, tenderness and desperation through in each word.
I also highly suggest following her on Twitter, often her characters take over and there happen to be several Werewolf Personals that are charming and hilarious.

I read these series compilation last summer & actually enjoyed them. Before this I have never read any werewolf romance novels. Eventhough I found the story dark & somewhat violent it grabbed my interest to finish it all. I liked the tale & the connections with all of the characters throughout the series. I give it 4 stars.

...sorry, I got a little carried away there -- which is what these books do to me. When I first came across them, I was looking for something different to vampires (my first big love). I was dubious. Werewolves have never done it for me in the past -- Heather changed that with one book: The Heat.
The first thing you need to know, is that this is dark romance. It's dangerous, daring, seductive and deeply sensual. The males are dominant, but also harbour hearts of gold; the females are strong and independent, but also know how to be feminine.
The plot, throughout all the books, is action-packed and fast-paced -- it's a page turner -- don't expect to breathe.
But perhaps what I love most about this author's writing, is her ability to put an awesome imagination onto the page in a way that makes it feel tangible. I also found this with another of her books I read, Forever Neverland (so totally different to the Big Bad Wolf series, that it shows her versatility as a writer). Both that book and the BBW series captured my mind in a way not a lot of books do.
If you're looking for colourful characters, a larger than life plot with many twists and turns, HOT Alpha men/wolves, dangerous seduction, that strong bond between two people/wolves that cannot be broken, strong women who can take anything thrown at them, villains who'll stop at NOTHING to get what they want, and the ride of your life, you've found it.

This was my introduction into the mind of a writer who has easily become one of my favorites. Her characters draw you in to their world. I am an avid reader and I rarely take the time to reread anything but the classics, but I have read these more than a handful of times. The moment I was finished reading this series I began collecting everything written by Heather Killough-Walden and I have yet to be disappointed! Happy Reading!

This author knows how to write good and hot paranormal romances. Give it a try. You will be caught up in the drama and the romance of each story and wish for more. It does contain grafic sex so if you are not comfortable with that, you might want to skip this but if not......WOW! ENjoy :)

I bought this bundle after reading another book by HKW... I had liked that book so much that I wanted to read everything she had available. I was not disappointed. There are 4 separate stories, but the characters from the previous book appear in each of the following ones. My favorite was definitely book 3. All 4 stories bring a different "gift" into the picture, while sticking to the same storyline. I enjoyed them all so much that I read all 4 books in 2 days! There are characters that you want to learn more about, so thank goodness for the spinoff series she wrote...

You will be addicted, right from the beginning! The Big Bad Wolf series is an incredibly thrilling set of four books that demands to be read over, and over again. The characters come to life through Heather's undeniable gift for storytelling. The reader cannot help but fall in love with the uncompromising loyalty and love shared amongst the wolves. Along with a SUPER steamy plot, the reader will also enjoy the supernatural qualities each character possesses. A must read for anyone who loves to be transported to a new world where love, magic and possibilities exist.

I gave this series a 5 star rating!! I loved it! Right from the first page to the last it kept me wanting to read on. It was very entertaining. The story line was good and the caracters were all well thought out. It was a great combination of romance and adventure. Each book in the series reflects a love story between different caracters all from the first book and are all nicely linked together to keep you reading and wanting more. I have read alot of Heather's books and have not been disappointed yet. Must reads by Heather are the Lost Angels Series, The Vampire King Series and Hell Bent.

Now, I have to say I am a little jealous... I bought each book individually, and now it comes as a set!
I REALLY enjoyed this series. I got the 1st book as a freebie, and ate it up in a night!
With hundreds of books left to read on my kindle, I have reread this series.
There is a versatility in the leading roles so that each book is not just a repeat of the previous one, as too many series do. Once you finish with this series, you can flip into the Kings series.

The Big Bad Wolf Romance Compilation is the best bargain out there. The series is fantastically developed, and each book can easily stand on it's own. So no need to read them in order, although it's more enjoyable that way. If you love werewolf paranormal romance, this compilation is sure to delight you. The series is fast paced and the plot is packed full of action with characters that are sure to charm you into submission.

I LOVE The Big Bad Wolf Series from Heather. I was hooked as soon as I started reading The Heat. I've read all of Heather's books and I am patiently (trying to be) waiting for her other books to come out. Below are my very short reviews for each book.
The Heat: So appropriately named, as this book is packed with "heat", both romantically and in action. Who knew love can be so awesome and destructive at the same time.
The Strip: Malcolm's frustration with finding his mate has made him misunderstood in the werewolf world. This book is the most graphic and violent in the series as two alphas battle for their mate.
The Spell: Heather wove the beauty of friendship, love, and goodness and the destruction of jealousy gracefully through the lives of all of her characters, good and evil. Your heart will leap for joy and pound with suspense while reading this book.
The Hunt: Heather has a wonderful talent of creating characters that are "out of this world", yet relatable and "down to earth". The Hunt is a great story of misunderstanding, hurt, redemption, preserverance, and true love. Absolutely fantastic.

I really enjoyed the entire Big Bad Wolf series! Not only did Ms. Killough-Walden provide a cast of beautiful, strong supernatural characters but she added suspense, romance, friendship and so much more. The bad guys are really evil and the good guys are great! i would recommend each book individually or all together as the series. I am currently re-reading The Strip and The Spell and will re-read the entire series over and over as I have enjoyed each of the books and it is like revisiting an old friend.

I enjoyed the first book but realised very quickly that the stories were very very repetitive and quite predictable. Combine this with a lot of padding out and the need for a decent editor and pretty soon I was struggling to keep reading. Not terrible; just not anything that made me want to keep reading

I hate writing reviews, that is not fair since I use reviews to decide what books to purchase. I will tell you that this series is really good and I loved every book. The only negative thing I can say is.... I think the series is over after only four books. I enjoy the authors writing style as she gets to the point and doesn't keep beating a dead horse. The characters are fun and full of personality. I really recommend this series! Happy reading :-)

I was looking for a new book to read and found The Big Bad Wolf Series, I downloaded the books and I was amazed on how I couldn't put my kindle down.... I read the books in a week! Heather knows how to capture a reader, she describes the characters that make you love them and hate them too! When you are done reading these books you will want to be a wolf too... If you liked the twilight series, you are going to fall in love with this series, she writes for adults and the relationships are amazing... I have read her other books now and they are truly spectacular also.

This series was pretty good. The story lines were interwoven pretty well, the main characters were strong. The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts is because of the very explicit sex scenes. I'm all for a good, steamy love scene but I can live without the mastrubation mess.

Excellent paranormal romance series. Just when you think you know everything about werewolves, warlocks & magic, you are introduced to more. Offspring and Vampires are the same, who knew? Each book is complete on its own but when you read the next in the series, you know more about each character from the book before plus meet new characters.

I have read the 1st three books of the Big Bad Wolf Series. This series is addictive. This is better than a grown up Twilight series. Those book weren't meant for the teeny boppers. This series was meant for grown adults. I'm not much of a reviewer but I can't get enough. The men are so manly. And the women in these books are no damsels in distress either. SO HOT!

Disappointed in the first two books of this compilation to the point that I can't drag myself through the others.
As a reader who loves fantasy and the erotic, and one who doesn't normally shy away from more darker themed content, the constant sexual violence throughout the books left an unpleasant and sordid aftertaste.
The plot never differed between the first two books that left me feeling that the second book was simply a regurgitation of the first with only the names of the characters changing.
Nasty and unimaginative

After reading the other reviews I was suprised and disappointed by these stories as they did not contain what I would refer to as love or romance. There was a tremendous amount of lust combined with sexual violence toward women. I did not find them enjoyable because of this. I do not think brutality is foreplay.

she is bloody brilliant and it shows! such an awesome take on vamps and weres...you think you've heard it all, and then BAM someone hits you with a fresh take and leaves you loving the genre all the more....Heather def does that.
i read people say this was a violent series...i have to disagree... you're talking about Alpha males and warlocks, and vamps..oh my! they are violent by nature, i only find it fitting.
