I enjoyed reading this book for the most part, it was a bit confusing at the beginning and not until later does the book explain the past relationship between Lucian and Lena. I'm looking forward to reading book 2.

Hello darkness, my old friend... eep! Loved this dark, dirty, angsty, para book. Holy wow, like really loved it and I need the next book right now. Amelia Hutchins was a new to me author but she won't be for long.

I finished this book cussing and giving the fringe to my kindle. Don't get me wrong. The book is awesome. Everything that Amelia writes is always awesome and worthy of reading more than once. I was just extremely upset that I have to wait again to find out what's going on!

Omg. Ok I love the Fae chronicles and elite guard series. This series wow just wow. I can not WAIT for book two to come out.

Playing with Monsters is a truly awesome read ! I loved the story line,the characters, the romance,some humor,and lets not forget the plot twists ! I loved Lucian,he's a handsome devil,a true Alpha male,dark and mysterious,he is on a quest to search for the seal,sometimes I wanted to reach out and just smack him one ... Magdalena is a sassy,feisty witch who returns to her home town which she left after her brother is killed in Afghanistan,she is returning home for the Harvest and the Awakening which brings witches into their new powers,this is really a story you need to read to pick up the nuance of the story line.. you sort of have to be there to enjoy the ride .. Lol ! .. This is a story in and of itself,but ties into the Fae Chronicles,as you will meet characters from that series,and if you haven't read that series,as a reader,you're missing out ! Amelia Hutchins is an awesome author, who's story lines and characters pull you in and take you on an adventure,and you will get hooked on her books ... just sayin' ! ! Hope you will check them out and enjoy the ride ! .. I did

OMG, Amelia Hutchins is the best author ever. This book like all the rest she writes will get your attention and not let it go until the very last word. This book was a long story, but yet it seemed so short, I was not ready for it to end. The only complaint I have is now I have to wait for her next awesome book to come out.

Wow. I loved this book. I literally devoured it.
Lucian is “take my breath away” amazing. I love Magdalena’s strong female character. The two together are such a great combination. Great story and lots of steamy scenes. Well done!!! Must read!!!

Some great books were released yesterday. But Playing with Monster was my top pick and what a roller coaster ride it was. I adore these types of books and very few writers have created such sublime, well thought plots which leaves you yearning for more. It was a bonus to see characters from the other books. Now the waiting starts.

I absolutely LOVED this book. Amelia definitely has a way with dragging you in and making you fall in love with her characters!!!

I sure loved the fae chronicles from this author and now wondering why I waited so long to get this book. Wow Lucian is sure one naughty monster but sure loved his character in this book. I cannot wait to see where Amelia is going to go from here with him. I sure don't think his story is finished. Another great book

I really loved this book, Amelia has this great way of making me like the most unlikeable charactors, I even start rooting for them. Love her take on strong sexy Alpha Males, I give this 5 purrs our 5 for another Purrfect story that leaves me want more

There was nothing predictable about this read and it was a great balance of mystery, horror, suspense, and of course steamy sex and romance. Lena and Lucian are a great match. I suggest reading the series in order and this is not for the faint of heart. Can't wait for the next one!

Once again Amelia Hutchins keeps me wanting more! I love her strong willed female characters and her “monsters” who fall for them! The back story of these characters intrigued me and I cannot wait to find out more about how this will all play out. The romance is steamy and the story is always great!

Amelia Hutchins has done it again!!!! As amazing as ALL her books are, I have to say that Playing with Monsters has to be my favorite!!! Extremely surprising as it is hard to top Ryder and Syn as a dynamic Paranormal couple but Lucian and Magdalena have completely won me over! Loved this book and I can't wait for the next one!

Another amazing read by Amelia Hutchins! Playing with Monsters surpassed my expectations and makes waiting for the next installment pure torture. If you need me I will be over here waiting impatiently

If you enjoy spicy hot paranormal reads, Amelia Hutchins is definitely your new favorite author. Amelia once again completed a novel that both captivates and excited the audience, as they turn the page. I have yet to be able to put down one of her novels, and Playing with Monsters is no exception. A must read for paranormal lovers!

OMG, OMG, omg, omg! I really am currently speechless after what I just read. I promise there is no spoilers but I will be EXTREMELY honest about my feelings on this book.

So first off, when reading this series I never thought there would be another relationship that I love as much as I love Ryder and Syn. . .holy crap was I wrong!! Lucian and Lena, with what happens in this book. . .first off just a fair warning it is not childs play, it is extreme, but damn it is hot and yeah there is no other to explain it in a PG format but say it was hot.

I have to admit, every single time I read one of Amelia's books whether for the first time or my first reread or tenth reread (yes I have reread Fighting Destiny 10 times (it's that good)), every single time I'm so far drawn into the book that escaping it, it's impossible because of how amazing it is. Playing with Monsters is such an extreme high that you almost feel like you cant breathe when you stop reading for a second and that second is because you are trying to cool down not because you want to stop for any reason but because you have to.

The character Lena, I was unsure of at first on how to feel about her, but in the back of my mind I knew this chick was tough as nails but at the same time as soft as a teddy bear and sensitive as a teenager hitting puberty, but its a good mixture I promise. I really love her character and what she goes through in this book, there are parts I connected with her on, the emotion part and it was a new connection that I haven't experienced before (what i mean is that yes I have read some same scenarios characters experience but never before have a felt such a strong connection with the character as I did just now). With the way things ended in this book for her, I'm so torn because waiting to hear more from her again is going to be brutal.

Lucian himself holy s***! That man, I have so many damn questions and knowing I have to wait right now for it, is going to suck like hell (yes I would like to visit him there lol), but I will suffer the consequences by falling in love with these books by rereading them all over and over and over again (its a great risk I'm willing to take). This man is an anomaly, you get him and you don't (which is how it's suppose to be), but at the same time the amount of questions i have in regards to him, is enough to make someone scream, but you know what I can live without my answers. . .for now anyways.

So with all that said, I cannot wait for the next book of Lucian and Lena's story, I need it like I need air to breathe (so if I die you know why). Thank you Amelia for such another AMAZING story, I cannot wait to read the next thing you write!!

This book is yet another example of Amelia Hutchins ability to weave a great story. I fell in love with the characters and am waiting (not so patiently) for the continuation of the story. Amelia has such a wonderful ability to make you slowly fall in love with her characters!!! I HIGHLY recommend this book!!!

NO!!! I absolutely loved these two books in this series!! I am following and have read all of the books of the Fae realm and this book's ending had me on edge. Please, tell us that there will be another continuation to this series, soon!

The author is really exploring her ideas on the anti-hero. We saw this a lot with Ryder. This book takes it to a darker level.

I don’t like how the MC’s lose track of the world around them because they grow infatuated with each other. I don’t like how the H is justified by the author with the argument that “that is who he is.” That is cutting corners, in my opinion. And you know what else I didn’t like? Ryder was in the book and didn’t act at all like he had been written in the other series!

The author writes well and I forgive a lot for that. Her heroines are spunky and strong. I wish Lena would have looked for answers, but there was a cute guy— so you know.

Not sure if I will read book two. They say it gets even darker and I don’t know if I want darker.
