The Tempting of Thomas Carrick (Cynsters Next Generation Series Book 2)

Loved this book. Ive been waiting to see how this generation is going to pair off. It's wonderful to have a better look inside Richard's family and see how all of the kids relate to one another. Can't wait for Marcus' story.

I don’t feel cheated now for having purchased an e-book rather than a paperback. I have gotten what I pay for....at last. I hope other authors and publishers will take note of this wonderful improvement.

These books give you everything you need in a story, romance and suspense. Lucille and Thomas are destined to be together. Thomas is not happy about that. He wants a life that is well ordered and safe. That is not what he'll get with Lucilla. But as always they get things worked out. The story wraps up with a few loose ends but I think the story about Marcus and Niniver will tie them up.

A wonderful start to the Cynster's children by Stephanie Laurens. Catriona's daughter is her mother's daughter but also has the uneffable Cynster Charm. Looking forward to reading the next Cynster tale.

I enjoyed this book very much. I actually read it cover to cover, which has not been the case with most historical romances I pick up these days. I liked the main characters and their love story. There were a number of interesting secondary characters, most notably Niniver and Marcus. I liked the setting and the plot was solid. In fact, I found myself more intrigued by the mystery of what was going on at the estate than by the love story. Since the mystery is not solved by the end of the novel, I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. If you enjoyed the original Cynster series, I think you will enjoy this story.

I couldn't finish this book. The characters were wooden and the conversation stilted, the writing was also stilted, IMO. I honestly can't understand how so many stars were given for it. Oh well . . .
