The storyline is a bit different from the norm--I liked that. The H and h struggle with others' views of their identity/roles. It's a clean romance with a bit of mystery and a few Bible verses thrown in.

This story was interesting in parts but it lacked period correctness and was rather predictable. The descriptions did not feel Regency period to me and that deterred from my liking the book in that I was distracted by that fact. Lastly, I figured out where the missing jewel was from the beginning. Though there was violence it was not very harsh and I would not have a problem recommending the book because of that.

I like everything by Sarah Ladd. She tells stories that hold my attention all the way through. She is one of the up and coming authors of Christian romance today. I highly recommend all of her books.
To Wager Her Heart (A Belle Meade Plantation Novel Book 3) :: Mead Mountain: A Matthew 17:20 Story :: Treasured Grace (Heart of the Frontier Book #1) :: Healing Ruby: A Novel (Volume 1) :: A Christian Historical Romance Novel (Colorado Reborn Book 1)

I enjoyed the qualities of the characters. The story was enriching with some twists and turns. I would have liked to see some negative qualities in the main characters. We all have them making for a believable story. But the uniqueness of the storyline of a shopkeeper's daughter during this era was refreshing and different from what I've read. Overall, I enjoyed the story and will read any of Sarah Ladd's books.

The Curiosity Keeper is the best from Sarah Ladd yet, and that is really saying something. Sleep was lost as I lost myself on this book. Camille's character so drew me in. She is so well written, she became a friend. The plot was magnificent with Romans 8:28 woven into the story in a special way. The twists and turns kept me riveted to the pages, and the ending was phenomenal because it wasn't totally predictable. My favorite things about the book are spoilers so I shall leave them out. Take this journey with Camille and find the treasures yourself. This book is definitely going on my forever shelves. Terrific story with beloved characters, great backdrop, and amazing story. Don't miss it. However, you might want to start it early in the day or be prepared to blissfully lose sleep! I'm giving it five stars because I simply couldn't put it down.

This story is about an finished ruby stone that some said had mystical powers. It has been stolen. Does it have powers to the ones that possess it?

Camille Inverness works for her father in his shop of curious things. She hears strange words being passed behind the curtain in their shop. Now as she prepares to close the shop someone attacks her and hurts her. Jonathan Gilchrist come to her and takes her to his home and his family.

He mends her wounds but hardly her broken heart. She is without any way to care for herself. She doesn't understand how badly the Gilchrist family needs the ruby. Follow their discovery not only to love but to facts about this jewel with a past.
