Callie is my fav. female character. She is kicking butt and taking names. The people that have made her naughty list better watch out. Callie makes some new legendary friends in this book and really begins to come into her own powers. She is more determined than ever to show ppl and freaks that she can stand on her own. This was another smash hit for the brilliant Shayne Silver's. It has all his trademarks, hilarity, suspenseful, plot twists, action packed, morality message hidden in.... I absolutely loved it. My favorite one yet .... in the F&F series. It's even up on my favorite 3 of all of Shayne's books and that's saying something! !!

The newest book in the Feathers and Fire series really heats things up for our heroin Callie. Even though this book operates in the same world as the Nate Temple series it never feels like a tag along. In fact Callie's adventures open up whole new avenues and mysteries that the other series never touches. I don't want to spoil the book in any way, because I want everyone who reads it to have the joy of reading it for the first time. What I will say is that Callie grows significantly as a character and is more than a match for a featured hero. In fact if you have read Nate you might be hard pressed to say which hero you like better. A must read that will keep you gripped throughout. I can't wait to see where the series goes from here.

Callie, Mr. Silvers’ newest character, is back in her second book. After getting rid of Jonathon, Callie must now track down his sister, but new problems keep cropping up: her best friend has a unique problem, she needs to find out about a new church in town, and Roland is going to Italy to try and help catch the mole in the organization. Not to mention her new abilities. But soon, she is surrounded by deaths, and she is the only one who can get to the bottom of them. I absolutely adore this series! This addition to the series was even better than the first one which is saying something as I just loved it, too. Callie is a great all-around capable character who takes no prisoners…usually. She kicks butt and takes names, all the while being sympathetic and nice. Not to forget the side characters; they were all interesting and wonderful, including the addition of some new ones. I can’t wait to find out more about them. The plot is a whirlwind of twists and action that keeps you guessing until the very end…and wishing you could read the next book right away. If you love urban fantasy, give this one a try; you won’t regret it!! Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.

The second installment of this series continues to build on the excellence and action of the first. Everything you've come to expect in a book by Shayne Silvers is here. Callie Penrose is a hero that is easy to fall for and the the supporting characters good and bad are unforgettable. There is a sense of mystery and what is going to come in the future. Cheering and cursing will be inevitable. Silvers will definitely elicit an emotional response......throw on a pot of the good coffee.....this book is gonna cut into your sleep time!

Another riveting addition to the collection from Shayne Silvers. Couldn't stop reading it and cant wait for the next book to be released. If you are a fan of anything supernatural, you will love the world Shayne Silvers has created in the Feathers and Fire series and Nate Temple Series.

Intricate woven storyline between 2 different series yet each one definitely stands on its own. You will never get all the subtle nuances that Shayne weaves into his storyline Nor will you find all the hidden plot lines that lead to the next book
Definte MUST HAVE Author to read!!

Another riveting adventure of Callie Penrose. If you haven't picked up this author yet check out his collected works! He's sure to have you on the edge of your seat craving more. Just what is going on? Pick it up and find out you won't be sorry but prepare yourself for a fast paced roller coaster of a ride!

“[S]o many new faces coming to Missouri – gods, legends, and nightmares” ... and assorted other monsters and wizards too. Don’t worry, folks, you’ve got Callie Penrose, rookie monster killer, in your corner! What, that doesn’t reassure you? For shame, as our gal Callie is up for the task in “Rage”, book 2 of Shayne Silvers’ new “Feathers and Fire” series.

It’s no surprise to readers who have followed the author’s other series, the highly addictive “The Temple Chronicles”, that this series and its star are already getting wonderfully layered and complex. The kindle blurb does a good job summarizing the plot, so no need to restate it here, but it is quite a doozy (though I do strongly suggest that the excellent “Unchained” before starting “Rage”) with an excellent cast of supporting characters. A total thrill ride that I can’t but highly recommend.

Callie is back to right a wrong. Shayne Silvers weaves an incredibly rich story bringing in vampires, where's, and bears. She doesn't know who to trust, and questions every move.
Make sure you block out a chunk of time when you start the book because you will not put it down.
Please keep up the incredible story!

This is the second installment in the Feathers and Fire series from Shayne Silvers. In this book the main character Callie expands both her power and her involvement in the supernatural world of Kansas City. Her mentor is called away on business and it seems like that's just the perfect time for old and new foes to make life that much more interesting. This volume introduces a few new faces to the series, some are friends, some are foes, and others have yet to show where their allegiances lay. Overall, it's a strong and enjoyable story. Some of questions from the first book are answered and others become apparent but you never get the feeling that you're just being strung along. It's a natural progression in her quest to find answers about herself, her origins, and her friends and enemies. If you're a fan of the Nate Temple books you'll appreciate this story as it is in the same Templeverse but Callie is her own person. They might interact, but they both know what they want and each have their own problems to solve.

I received an advanced readers copy for my honesty opinion and I honestly loved it. I'm loving Callie as a character and she truly does some outrageous things that we've all wanted to do sometimes. Another great book in a promising series

Callie is amazing! Smart and tough, kick ass but not a paper cut out or stereotype. She is Kansas City's resident bad ass, and my favorite new series. If you haven't started reading the series definitely do it now!

Shayne has done it again! He has given us another excellent thrilling adventure! Callie is a strong, smart, witty attractive Badass! I absolutely loved Feathers and Fire. I was so glad that Nate made an appearance in both books so far in the series. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Callie and Nate in the future! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading this arc.

Callie Penrose is neck deep in alligators in the latest installment. The mystery kept me guessing the whole time and the action was fast paced. Similar to the 2nd Nate Temple book, our storyteller has introduced us to a lot of lovely characters only to cut them almost completely out of the story this time. They make token appearances only, leaving our heroine to face her battles alone. My favorite parts where we seem to be getting some meat of the REAL story happen in the beginning and the end. It is a great stepping stone leading us to what I can only hope are more novels where we get to explore Callie as a person more and a hero maybe a little less.

Those familiar with Shayne's other series, the Nate Temple series, now have the next instalment in the series that compliments it, without copying it. Callie Penrose is a heroine much different than Master Temple. She doesn't have his swagger, or arrogance, because she is still finding out who she is, and what she is. Callie is a heroine who is coming into her power, and realizing that the world of magic that she has been thrust into is much larger and dangerous than what she could have imagined. She is also learning that her actions do have repercussions, as she must handle the power vacuum left by her previous exploits. In the Temple series, Shayne shows us a wizard in his prime; loved feared and respected by most that he comes into contact with. In Callie, Shayne is showing us the growth and discovery that we never got to see before. Buckle up. I have a feeling it's going to be a bumpy, but exhilarating ride.

Shayne Silvers continues to give urban fantasy lovers characters they want for friends in a world that may be dangerous but isn't dull. Callie Penrose isn't sure what she is yet, but one thing she ISN'T is boring. Headstrong, tough and snarky, with oblique references to the author's Nate Temple series, the reader is swept up into an adventure that isn't over when the book ends. Callie's story is just one more glance into a world where mythology, fantasy and religion meet head to head in the ultimate smackdown. Readers should start with Obsidian Son (the first story in the Nate Temple series) than move to Unchained (the first story in the Callie Penrose series). While both storylines can stand alone, the Nate Temple series gives readers the foundation for the world Callie Penrose and Nate live in.

I love Callie. She is strong, independent, and fierce. From the first moments to the last are a wild ride within the skin of a renegade that Is Callie. You will love her. Shayne Silvers is a gifted storyteller with the ability to pull you into the story and make you choose a side. I had a fantastic time riding along. I totally recommend this book to lovers of supernatural fiction. There is plenty of action with a touch of mystery to make you settle in and finish the book in one sitting.

Another book that you just cant put down. Shayne Silvers has a talent in being able to draw you into a fantastic world that you dont want to escape. New characters and the return of some old favourites. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Callie has had it rough but she doesnt let that hold her down. She comes back to kick butt and take names ( sometimes) and doesnt take attitude from anyone. She protects those she loves and she does it with style. I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

Action, suspense and plot twist galore! This book pulls the reader into the life and mind of Callie Penrose, the magical version of Nikita. She is a Vatican trained badass, but has little knowledge of her past or the origins of her unusual magic. Callie will pull out all the stops to thwart a demon and save her city.

WOW This book was amazing start to finish. I seriously could not put it down! This is one that needs to come with a warning label- do not start this book if you have things to do like sleep and work!

Such strong characters and writing that makes you feel invested in the struggle! I really look forward to more about Callie! I do love strong female characters and Callie does not disappoint!

Shayne Silvers imagination knows no bounds. Each book builds upon the last with the characters maturing and developing at a phenomenal rate. I love every book he's written and this one is no exception. I can't wait to see where he takes Callie to in his next book.

The series just gets better and better. Callie is a badass that works for the church and a Shepherd; slaying demons and rescuing fair maidens from the clutches of evil werewolves. In the last book, she defeated Jonathan the demon; but his sister Amara escaped. Callie is worried about what Amara might be planning. She knows it won't be good! We meet another character from the past who you won't believe! Callie stands on her own even though she has Nate Temple as a friend she could call for backup. You can practically feel the pheromones when they are together! Callie explores some new powers gained after merging with the drop of angel blood to defeat the demon Jonathan. There is no telling how powerful she will become in her quest to save her city and the world. There are some new characters introduced that are simply awesome and that you wish you could know! Callie runs around trying to fix various methods not knowing if they are connected. She's growing up and maturing before our eyes! Action packed with characters that you can empathize with and feel that you know. Magic and mayhem ensues! Another winner from Mr. Silvers and I can't wait until the next one!'

What an excellent follow up, kick-ass story!! I'm slowly becoming obsessed with this series and world (I will be starting the Nate Temple series asap!), and I'm loving getting to know Callie more and seeing how her powers develop. Shayne Silvers, you devil, dragging out the revelation of Callie's powers and supernatural history for as long as you can! I see you, milking it because you know we will stay loyal and keep reading because we're hooked. Well, I say to you sir that I am lactose intolerant and am dying to get to the bottom of it! Well done on this second installment, it being just as good or even better than the first! I'm a sucker for even the slightest romance though and wished Nate had been in this book more, but I get why he wasn't. Now I'm desperately hoping that they get together later on, which they obviously because of the powers they both have, duh ;)

I loved getting to know the new characters (Dear and Darling are my new favorite characters!), and different types of "Freaks" and how they roll. The addition of Detective Bennett to Callie's team roster was perfect, and I can't wait to see if he's in any future adventures. I also can't wait to see how Claire's story develops! Simply put, awesome series, and I am now a loyal follower of this world. Plenty of action and mystery. Shayne Silvers successfully was able to weave for the second time a mystery that kept me guessing until the end!

Discovered Shayne Silvers just a couple of months ago and over the past two weeks have just HAD to binge read ("inhale") all of his books. Now book #10 is out and for the first time, I'm going slowly, since I know it'll be the last one for a few months. However, it could be worse. I just love prolific authors! Most others I'd have had to say, "Now I have to wait a whole year for the next book." LOL He's now on my "read anything they write" list of authors. Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited, or my budget would be toast!

Shayne Silvers just keeps getting better. Book two of his Feathers and Fire series Rage is a rollercoaster ride of total thrills. Callie Penrose has come into herself in this book. I won't give any spoilers, but the fact that Shayne's other series character Nate Temple only makes a very short appearance, makes this book all Callie, and be happy he did. If you only read one more book this year make it this one!

I thoroughly LOVED these books. I’m feeling a little withdrawal since I’ve completed both of Shaynes’ series ( Nate Temple and Callie Penrose) and I can’t wait for the new books in each series! I found his writing style captivating. It kept my interest all the way through and just when I might have started to think the storylines were getting redundant, he surprises with a twist I didn’t see coming. While I would call this a book for tennis or adults, (only because of some references) I find it to be more of a book about character development and personal self discovery and awareness, all within the realm of magic- so FUN!! There are some subtle sexual references but that’s all.

His world of magic, monsters, ‘regulars’ is unending and I never cease to be surprised by his character additions. I also like that his main characters have a strong moral compass of right and wrong, and strong loyalty to friends. I’m interested to see where Shayne takes Callie’s and Nate Temples relationship as the books progress.

I rely heavily on kindle unlimited. I read probably at least 2 novels a week. After years of digging into supernatural /fantasy I can safely say Shayne Silvers has a gift. I read Callie’s first book then went back and read all of the Nate Temple books. After switching back to Callie with Rage, it was utterly seamless. No awkward lapses or prices that didn’t match. These two heros are living unequivocally in the same world. Technical skill aside the storytelling itself is fantastic. You don’t want to put these books down, the characters are so real and relatable, with actual dynamic relationships. Nothing formulaic here. Do yourself a favor and start at the beginning if you haven’t already.

I loved this book. Callie is an amazing heroine and the supporting characters all bring so much to the story. I can't wait to see how these relationships grow in future books. The action was fast-paced and the book was hard to put down. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rage. Callie still has some growing to do as a character. I'd like some more information on Callie's origins and what that makes her. That's left ambiguous in Rage. Actually, a whole lot is left rather ambiguous. Darling and Dear? Cain? Haven? I feel like there was a lot of setup in this Callie episode, with not a lot of questions answered. What is Amira's goal? Silvers, get with the answers in Callie Episode 3. Overall, another Shayne Silvers win.

Mixed with all the old characters, and now some new ones, Callie Penrose shows us yet again why she is the number one female lead to Nate Temple...SHE CAN PLAY WITH THE BIG TOYS...AND BOYS...WHAT and adventure! LOVE DARLING AND DEAR...OMG EVERYONE needs a a pair for themselves. If you haven't read this series yet....YOU ARE SO MISSING OUT. PICK up the first book, Obsidian Son and see what all the CRAZINESS is about...YOU WON'T be let down.

I really enjoyed Rage! I like how you incorporated Nate Temple into this story. I was fascinated by Callie and her good verses evil parlay. I would like to see where Nate and Callie end up. I am excited to learn who is Callie father? The story of heaven and hell, playing out on an earthbound world. I love the way you , include all your characters such as Dorian Gray,Cain, Darling and Dear into the storyline, quite cleaver. I can barely wait to start book three.

The Callie Penrose series a a power read. The action comes fast and furious and makes you crave the next book immediately! Thankfully, both Shayne Silvers' series have strong characters, interesting twists on old ideas, and many more unique premise. I am constantly wondering where his concepts come from! If you stumbled across the Fire and Feathers series, be sure to start at the beginning with the Nate Temple series, which you get a taste of at the end of this book.

Another fantastic story!! If you like paranormal mixed with "abbynormal" this is the author for you!
Magic mayhem and heroes! Laugh out loud moments, intriguing storyline. I hope that Darling &Dear continue to be featured in upcoming books, really enjoyed their characters and high quality specialized leather goods.
I also appreciated the parallel to unfortunate climate of hate, and the authors view totally supports my own. Rock on Shayne!!

I freaking loved this book. Fast paced, well written, excellent plot and I cannot say enough good about Shayne Silver's writing. Stoked for book 3. Now I need to get my butt in gear and start the Nate Temple series... which I should have done first, before this series, but I'm a sucker for a kick ass female.

Keep up the good work, Mr. Silvers. You have earned yourself another life long fan.

Another exciting endeavor in Callie's story. There are a number of new characters introduced in the sophomore story of this set, and it's nearly nonstop action that throws you into the whirlwind that is the life of Callie. I can't really give any information about the try itself that wouldn't be spoiler material, but I can assure you that you will not want to put this down after you pick it up.

This author awes me with his writing and imagination. The combinations of supernatural creatures, religious figures, as well as a totally unexpected but brilliant character addition in this book took that even further and blew my mind. I can't wait until January for more Feathers and Fire, and Nate Temple and his merry crew as well. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to read any genre.

The main character is a hybrid angel and wizard. She works indirectly for the Vatican on missions to protect people from Freaks. In this adventure she explores new powers while solving a mystery. It is written in the same fashion as the Dresden Files and Sandman Slim. Using powers of heaven and hell to defeat demons, werewolves and vampires, and make unlikely alliances. She is the the female version of Nate Temple.
