This book is 100% Max and friends. No Krian/Roman. If you have a problem with that, don't bother buying the book.

That said, it is of the same quality and adventurous spirit as the other books.

If you liked the previous books that had Max's POV, buy this book. If not, don't.

There are a few grammar errors, nothing too bad though.

A very good book but not quite what I was hoping for. The story starts after the events of the first chapters of Steel Wolves of Craedia. It is a good story well paced with a good translation (not great more errors then past books). SEMI SPOILER

My one issue is it is a Shemp. What I mean by that is the three stooges were their best with Curly. They did basically the same routine with Shemp but it just wasn't quite as good. Krian is Curly and he was not in this episode.

Some are upset at the focus being Max, but I think the story needed more groundwork laid for the non demon side. Bright side the next book is already written in Russian, so buy this one so he can get the next one translated.

The story continues, just as good if not better. The point of view is from Max and what is happening in the "above" world. Only bad part is we have to keep waiting for the next book to find out what's happening with Roman.
Some minor issues with editing that could have used another quick fix but takes nothing away from the book.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Realm of Arkon. Even though the main character, Krian, wasn't in the book, the secondary character(s) moved the plot line a lot and provided a ton of back ground information on the world. I still think this is one of the top series in this new genre!

At first I was bummed that this book followed Max's story but I was wrong. It fits perfectly and is a great build up to the next book. At the end I was only disappointed that I now have to wait for the next translation. I think the author has written 6 books with this being the 4th translated.

There was one or two grammar/spelling mistakes but hardly noticeable.

5 stars.

This is a max story. While not as grand as the story about roman, it has more of the traditional fantasy themes. This looks like in a few more books the two will meet up and shake the world some.

Keep em comin

A hate elves but it's good to see what's happening to Roman's friends. I am a fan of single pov character books though. Splitting the story into different books for each character is way better than alternating chapters.

Another good story , well worth your time . For me there was a little too much time describing the area and atmosphere but , not a bad thing at all . Definitely a story that can be enjoyed more than once .

This is not the fourth book of the series it's a friggen 3.5 and should be numbered as such. Like whet the hell, no one gives a damn about the side characters, especially not when the MC has had such an awesome run so far. I wanted to read more that of awesomeness, not this second rate garbage. (But I guess the story was fine, not that I enjoyed it since I was pissed off the entire time)

At $5.99 for a side novel that has perhaps 250 pages of real content this book is absurdly overpriced. For a digital copy, Kindle Unlimited authors get less than half a penny per page. I enjoy this series, and had been looking forward to the newest release, but at roughly 4.5x the price that most authors ask, with what is essentially a short story about a side character, I have to say NO. This is not worth the money. To the author/translator: You are attempting to charge more than NY Times bestsellers do for their physical, printed copies, and you want it for a digital edition. NO. NO. NO. You have a decent story, and one that I would like to continue reading. Add another 500 pages and I would CONSIDER paying the $5.99. As it stands, your work is outrageously overpriced. Unless and until the price of this short story reflects the value of the content, I am done with this series, and I strongly recommend to my fellow readers to refrain from purchasing this "book." Sincerely, a very disappointed fan.

So far this series has been a balance between two POV's, Roman/Krian in first person, and Max in third person. I love the storyline, and find myself red faced and outta breath from laughing so much. Though I have to admit; I wish the split POV happened a bit more, instead of having it at the beginning or ending of the book. Now I'm not saying that the POV be split every chapter, but maybe have it when Krian/Alyona are trying to communicate through their Aunt. And I'm so disapointed that there was no Roman/Krian POV at all in this book! I missed him and the members of the Steel Wolves Clan, and his spoiled boar mount Gloom! Other than that, I loved this book, and how connected the characters seem to be, and I'll be impatiently waiting for the next book and hoping that they finally reunite with each other!

It would seem we’ve been following the wrong character in previous books. Max is “THE” perfect character, every step the right one, every decision perfect, Heck, why follow Roman as he stumbles through the game, Max makes it all look easy, surpassing everything Roman has accomplished over multiple books, in one book.

We’ve been reading about the wrong character.

Kinda cheapens the efforts of others.

This is more of a novella then a book in the series. Like most of the reviews state this book doesn't feature Roman at all it tells the story of Max and Romans sister.
It's a nice side story and can fill out the main story a bit but I kept waiting throughout the entire book for the author to swap to Roman. Even a few chapters at the end of the book like he did for Max in the first book would have been welcome but alas it never appeared.

This book takes a holiday from Krian's story and takes a closer look at Max and his friends.
What i liked was that Max and his friends were much more confronted about the changes that Patch 17 brought to the gameworld. And we get a deeper look how the actions of the gods influence the game.
What i didn't like so much, is that the book is very Max-centric. His other party-members have little chance to shine or to develop.
Nevertheless a good book and a worthy addition to the series. Waiting for book 5. (And the Audible edition)

Hi all, series' translator here again. I haven't written a review since book 1, but I feel compelled to "stick up" for book 4. I suspected that some fans would be upset by Krian not figuring in this book at all, but I propose we judge the book on its own merit. And in that respect, I feel it's every bit as good as book three.

This was needed, as Max's storyline really isn't minor or secondary anymore (as you find out towards the end of the book), and the two storylines were in need of syncing in terms of timeline. There are some real twists here as well, and I personally really enjoyed the bond and camaraderie being forged between these characters. And the ending sequence is as epic as anything Krian has done, IMHO.

Remember all, this isn't Ned Stark being beheaded :) Oh, and a ton of people griped about that, but ASOIAF only got better from there. Besides, I promise there'll be a lot of Krian in book 5. I also promise you'll have book 5 on your Kindles by June. (I know my track record hasn't been the best in that regard, but I have every intention to make up for past delays.)

Happy reading!

This story focuses on Max, as his friendship with Krian (Roman) starts to have more of an impact on his life in the ‘game’ and those around him, even though they are on different planes. It is great to see that he has a similar determination to do what is right! And, without quite the same level of rage.

I also like that Max said he doesn’t care if his friend is technically a demon in the game, as he figures he will still be the same person regardless of outward appearance. That is true friendship. :)

Hopefully, once he and Krian meet back up, he’ll be able to help his friend stay on a more even keel and not let his anger blind him.
