When I started reading The Ticket, I thought it would be an enjoyable tale. It starts off with Allie, recently divorced, having a tough time. She meets Pete by chance. The story opens up into a funny romantic comedy, with both characters growing as the pages turn. I won't spoil the plot, suffice to say that lots of stuff gets thrown into the mix.

Allie is a great character. Forty-ish, blond, good looking and feisty. The author brings her to life effortlessly, giving her license to have fun, with a few tears too.

Pete is the lovable Irishman, not just there to make up the numbers. All the characters are well crafted.

The locations in the book, of which there are many, are wonderfully depicted. From New York to Bangkok, you are transported with the characters as they head off on an adventure to end all adventures.

An extremely enjoyable book that I really connected with. fabulously written. Funny, smart, and emotionally charged. It is well worth reading. I shall be checking out more books from this talented writer

I thought this book would be quick and fluff from the description, with funny traveling situations. It includes real life problems, people try I g to cope with real life. The trip is the medium used to help them think through their life choices. There is humor, but this is not a fluffy road trip adventure. I wasn't sure how this trip was supposed to take 3 weeks, but they only has one to two days in each of six cities. I know there is flying time, but they should still have had more time. The first 3 cities were in Europe. I enjoyed the book more than I thought I would with the realistic situations and dialogue. It was as much about friendship as the romance.

There are some books that arrive in your hands at exactly the right time; "The Ticket" by Heather Grace Stewart is one of those books. When my copy arrived last week, I was in need of a warm, feel-good read with a touch of romance and my needs were amply met by this story.
Lawyer, Allie James, and news anchor, Pete McCarney meet when he is looking for someone to share an amazing holiday with him after he has been let down badly by his girlfriend, also named Allie James. He has already interviewed more than twenty women of the same name, when he meets Lawyer Allie and decides that she is the one to share the trip.
Both Allie and Pete set out on their adventure with a certain amount of trepidation. Their whirlwind journey is full of excitement, highs and lows and more than a touch of romance.
I have deliberately not said much about the plot, as I would not want to spoil the book for anyone. However, I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed "The Ticket". The characters came to life and I loved following the development of their relationship. I liked the way the author looked at the situation from both points of view; for me, the "dual narrator" added to the humour and depth of the story.
Thank you, Heather Grace Stewart, for writing a book which is fun and engaging - just the right thing for a bleak winter's day - or a day in the middle of summer, for that matter.

The Ticket by Heather Grace Stewart is a witty, funny, romance worthy of the silver screen. Will the relationship-damaged Allie and Pete find love again, despite all the obstacles life can throw at them? Find out in this well-written page-turner that had me chuckling out loud and pulling for the star-crossed couple.

This romance novel was a joy to read. I tried to put it down for a moment but it was hard. This is the first time I have read a romance novel by Heather Grace Stewart. She knows how to creat her characters to be funny or serious. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a great love story.

Two forty something professionals who have been kicked in the head by love take a world tour vacation together and find love--deep nature passionate love and new directions for their own careers. Clever, funny, human characters that I would love to have as my friends. Wonderfully written.

A predicable love story with the nice exception of the tension not being dragged out. You have time, for once, to enjoy the couple being in love together.
Well written and edited. Fine character development. Fast paced and humorous dialogue. Great scene setting.
For sure recommended for a Sunday afternoon read, or a beach book. Certainly not a story I'll always remember, but definitely worth the short term pleasure.

I really loved the characters in this novel. They were relatable, funny, and had issues. Heather keeps you going from page to oage, chapter to chapter. If you looking for a well written love story, this is one for you. Looking forward to future books.

The story was humorous and flowed beautifully. Their were no fruit drawn out spots. The characters were believable. Me Stewart did not allow Allie's feelings for her ex husband to take over the whole book as so often does. It is nice to read about a somewhat older character.

This was a good read. It was predictable that was okay. I thought the language was a little much, but didn't spoil the story. It's nice to sometimes just read a feel good story that goes quickly. I enjoyed it.

I truly don't know what else to say about this book. The Gaelic threw me all the time and some slight grammatical errors, but overall it's a great romantic comedy and would recommend this book to all of my "reader" friends!

Although not a literary powerhouse and slightly unbelievable, this was a cute funny story that I really enjoyed. This was the first book I've read by this author but I'll definitely check out other books she's written.

What a compelling romance and self-discovery journey! I couldn’t put it down with all the pop culture references, humour, and exotic travel destinations. The characters are so relatable and you gain a lot of insight you can apply to your life. The real message of the story though is to take a chance on love as both the main characters have just gone through a breakup. The Ticket also serves as a powerful reminder of hope if you are looking for love by showing that there are people out there that aren’t afraid of commitment and aren’t only looking for a friends with benefits situation. Reading the story made me want to follow Allie & Pete’s lead and book a ticket for my next adventure!

I don't know why it's bothering me so much, but you can completely tell the author is not from the US. Its not a problem that she is not from here, but to have your characters live here, and then in the case of Allie be from here (?, I think she is but I'm not 100% sure) and to not write her as an American kind of throws me off. For example, she refers to her mother as Mum, which Americans don't really do. They're also into these things called Christmas crackers, and I had no idea what they were so I looked them up, and apparently they're not really seen in the US. And, she does not seem to know US geography very well because the story is set in NYC, but the main character says she's never been south of New Hampshire. However, NYC is south of New Hampshire.

I know these are little things that shouldn't bother me, but for some reason they really do. I'm not trying to be ethnocentric here, but I think that if you choose to write a story where your characters are from a country different from your own, I would think you would do some research as to their customs. Other than that its pretty good.

Ms Grace Stewert, this is your third novel release I believe setting aside your poetry and screen play. When I saw that you were releasing this book I just knew I had to read it following Strangely Incredibly Good and Remarkably Great.

This book is just The Ticket! I laughed so much in some parts my ribs could have hurt, I love the charactors in this book and there is something I am sure all Women and Men can relate too.

Hold onto your seats and buckle up everyone for a book that will have you imagining a whole other world.

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a quick and easy read, but the characters were nicely developed and the story progressed in a natural way. I liked all the characters and the style of writing. Would recommend!

A romantic page turner with a heart that kept me wanting to read more. From the very beginning this novel hit me with it's original wit and realistic reflection of modern lives & relationships. This is an adorable but realitic story of love of all kinds and how it gets us through life's ups & downs.

Just as I was thinking - “Do I want to finish this book or scrap it”, the main character groups Republicans and rapists together...sigh... that was my sign to scrap it. So glad I didn’t actually pay money to read this. There is so much more to life than politics.

"She’s so hot, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. When she was drinking the froth off her beer, it was so sexy I wanted to do her up against that old pub wall, right then, right there." If that's the book you want to read, it's all yours. Stuff like this ruins a perfectly good story line.

This book was predictable but enjoyable to read. There were a few American/British language discrepancies, but not that big of a deal. Must have been a British or Irish writer trying to write from an American point of view.
