The first of the series was hilarious, but at some parts predictable. I like to be a little surprised, but I think this was her first book out ever. I've read her mixology series and didn't want to leave the author because that series is amazing. I will also continue to bo. I hope she finds her stride in this really funny series with great characters. Lots of things happen in this book from men, to bad guys, to Lacey being naive which is a star off. Somethings she did just seemed childish and I hope Lacey finds her stride in being a mafia princess. I'm thinking she will, she has to much attitude not too!

I think it's unfortunate that Lacey is compared to Stef Plum, they are way different. And that's a good thing. Lacey is NOT somebody's knock-off, but a really fun person in her own right. And the stuff that happens to her, and the messes she gets into will make you laugh yourself silly! Any under 50 can relate to her, and the overs can remember being like her. Her pal Meg is soooo like my best friend since the 4th grade! No plot spoilers here, just be prepared to have fun. Remember: A good laugh is like 10 minutes on a rowing machine (old YMCA ad).
Caitlin Kelly is great as the audio performer! Peppy and easy to listen to, with good voice interpretation of the numerous characters (pun intended).

There are some things I can't get past. The main character is a total idiot. There's really no other way to put it. And lazy as all get out. Doesn't want to do laundry so wears footie pajamas on a stakeout? Ugh. That and some of the grammatical mistakes. I really couldn't tell if they were on purpose, because the main character is such an idiot, or on accident, in which case I'm really disappointed in the author for making it and the editors for not catching it either.

I might continue readjng the series because it's free with Kindle Unlimited, but I don't recommend buying it outright. Her Magic and Mixology series is infinitely better.

Lackey is kind of lazy, ditsy, unfocused and a little self absorbed. If she wants to do the jobs and prove she can why does she not want to get in shape and take self defense lesson. Yet she has little tempor-tantrums when she does not get taken seriously. I mean if someone shoots up your apartment and your cousin is bleeding would faint, or take a nap go out to a bar? Then right after some kidnaps you, do you go back and asked for trouble without some one to watch your back. It's like she's trying to get herself killed, she sits back closes her eyes and waited for it. Seriously? I just wish for once someone gives me a a smart character who knows if I'm going to does this let me get some training so I don't get killed. Really!

I loved this book. It is funny, fast paced, and a great read.

Lacey searches for her family after her mother, the stripper, dies. She discovers that her grandfather is the head of the Mafia. She wants to impress him and takes on a job after failing as a stripper. It sounded simple enough, "find the good stuff." Only problem Lacey isn't sure what the good stuff is.

She enlists the help of her well endowed friend Meg and her computer hacker genius cousin Clay. She meets three hunky men but she isn't sure who the good guys are (ones working for her grandfather) and who the bad guys are (another Family) but that doesn't stop her from taking two of them to meet her grandfather.

Great read reminds me a lot of the Stephanie Plum books (which if you haven't read I highly recommend them also). Good humor, great story line, and kept me wanting to know more. I finished is in one day because I couldn't put it down. READ IT!

Lacey Luzzi definitely does not have her life in order! She could not make it as a stripper and so when she found her long lost family she thought maybe she might be able to fit in and do something for them. Who knew working for the Family and the Italian mob was going to be so hard...and so funny! Lacey definitely isn't the smartest in the bunch but she is kind hearted and means well! You definitely will not be bored with this book...it seems to go from one mishap to the other fairly quickly! Her love life is just as mixed up as her career and finding everything out along with her is half the fun of reading this book! I received a free copy of the book and so I wrote an honest review!

Okay so I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book after the first 2 chapters. The author wants this to be like a Stephanie Plum book and I thought she was trying WAY too hard. Meg is for sure not Lula and the Luzzi’s are no way as funny as Grandma Mazur. But, I did end up enjoying the book. It had a few LOL moments. I would have liked a few more romantic scenes with Anthony but I suspect that’ll happen in later books.

This was a pretty good book, it’s a very good start to a series and I can’t wait to keep reading. My only “seriously” moment was the ex having sex while he had company. I know they’re not together, but even if it’s your ex girlfriend what kind of person does that? I just couldn’t figure out why she was upset about losing him if he was that sort of guy. I know they aren’t getting back together though so I’m glad to read more.

All the awesome 5 star reviews fooled me. I should have read the 1 star ratings. I couldn't finish this book I didn't get very far. Characters were introduced in detail that we only saw for moments and then other characters were called by name in ways that felt as though we should have just KNOWN who they were. The descriptions of everything go one seemed so complicated. She cuts herself then drags the blood to dry on her wrist before going to dinner with her grandparents and nobody notices what was the point?

Her best friend loves her food so much she'll long to eat it out of a trash bag? Seriously??? I tried to ignore that as this is supposed to be a comedy, but there is funny and the is crass humor.

My final straw was "diabetes in a cup" I have 2 Type 1 diabetic children. After almost 2 decades of living, breathing, and learning about diabetes I can tell you that diabetes is not a result of eating too much sugar it's genetics, and for families with children of type 1 we wake up everyday afraid they died as a result during the night. Children die from their diabetes every week. Making fun of it is no different for us that making fun of cancer is for the family member of a cancer patient, which I also lost my sister to when she was 10.

To the writer I say: Grow up.

Obviously you have a talent for writing, comedy doesn't need to be so insulting and crass and so much ridiculous fluff doesn't enhance the story it harms it.

To the readers:
This book is geared towards adults who haven't grown up and still laugh hysterically at gas humor and find getting drunk and dizzy a fun way to spend their Friday evenings.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in order to review it, which was the only reason I finished reading it. I like the Stephanie Plum books, but this heroine Lacey is a caricature of a caricature. I wasn't sure if she was written to be that stupid or just ended up that way because of her almost constant drinking. Either way, not funny. A couple of Ms. LaManna's ideas had promise, like the black stakeout outfit and the "beech" conversation, but were not enough to redeem the rest of the book.

Caitlin Kelly is a good narrator for this book.I found this story to be so,so.It is very heavy on over reaching descriptions of everyone and every thing.I did not like the main character or her friends. She seemed like a High School girl in a womans body. The storyline,Lacy has to go to work for her grandfather. She is in debt and needs a car,so,she does, not really knowing what his business was.Supposed humor ensues.
This audiobook was provided to me at no cost for a fair and honest review

I read the reviews and knew there were similarities between the series but I didn't expect outright copying! Fat friend with bin boobs? Check. Donut obsession? Check. Two hot guys on either side of the law/sides? Check. Dumb bimbo character who somehow solves the crime? Check. Hilariously funny so you don't care about the stupidness? Oops! We forgot that one, which makes this book lame and really hard to read! Skip the series.

ok so this story is a little different our heroine lacey recently found out she is related to the godfather of the twin cities mafia-- after proving she can be loyal to the family and she can handle more responsibility she is promoted to find 20 million dollars of the stuff that was stolen- now the question is what is the stuff- and who stole it--- and can she remain alive and recover it- ok if you like stepanie plum books you will like this one- it has sexy hunky men vieing for our gals attention - some steamy romance - fast paced action- lots of plot twists-- and lots of scenes that will have you laughing out loud as our lacey gets in and out of trouble everytime she turns around- she is feisty- has a stubborn steak- flirty - addicted to sugar laced drinks and pastry's -accident prone- and is lucky enough to have her cousin clay a tech genius and meg and ex cop as her backups= throw in her grandparents- more cousins- and and the rest of the Family - add the russian mob to the mix and you have a tale that you will probably keep you up later then planned as you try to figure out just who are the bad guys--- this is the first book i read by this author and i was glad to see that lacey's world will be continued in the next book which is called sparkled--- i gave this book 4 stars because there are a few minor editing errors but not enough to take away the flow of the story line --- so my advice grab this cozy mystery and curl up on your sofa ---

This book was a quick and easy read but the characters are mostly creeps. The main character is quirky but hard to like- she's not too bright, no ethical code, sex obsessed in a gross way and, worse, totally unbelievable. The promised humor is lowbrow and suited to high school boys. The writing is good, so 3 rather than 2 stars but the story is meh. I'm not sure this should be a cozy. I feel a little diminished by having read it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I truly found myself laughing out loud. The whole mob “family” is really her family - was hilarious. Lacey bumbles along and the situations happen to end up in her favor but how she gets there is so funny you won’t want to miss the journey! I can’t wait to read the next installment.

The writing was often witty, hilarious and smooth. The characters are good, especially Lacey. I stayed up way too late reading! However, the plot was incredibly obvious and Lacey, in real life, would be dead if she couldn't figure out what was going on a LOT sooner than she did! She might be a touch too self deprecating, I'm not sure she would have so many men drooling over her if she was as average and Looney as she described. I will definitely read more of this series as it could be amazing with a bit more interesting plot and a bit more savvy protagonist.

A cute and fun, if not original, read. Replace Minnesota with New Jersey, Meg with Lula, Anthony with Ranger, and Lacey with Stephanie and you have a Stephanie Plum novel. The similarities are endless: they both love to eat extremely unhealthy food, they both have a loud-mouthed, curvy side-kick, and they both have mysterious ninja-like love interests that have one-word nicknames for them ("Doll" for Lacey and "Babe" for Stephanie), to name a few. But despite the lack of original characters the story itself is cute, fun, and entertaining. If you like Stephanie Plum you will definitely like Lacey Luzzi, and as such I highly recommend this series.

Can I tell you how excited I am to have found this series (and the author in general)? This is the first book in the Lacey Luzzi Mafia Mysteries series (there is a short prequel as well) and I enjoyed it so much. Lacey is just a crazy, fun mess. And I can't wait to see what happens between she & Anthony, her trainer at the gym (and bodyguard hired for her by the Grandpa without her knowledge). Clay & Meg are awesome friends & Nora is a hoot.

Looking forward to the next book in the series! And its worth noting that the book covers are stunning.

Just recently discovered this author, but have thoroughly enjoyed her other books. This book was no exception! The characters were quirky and fun. The plot was interesting although twists to keep you turning the pages. I couldn't make myself set the book down and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This story's style reminds me of Evanovich's Stephanie Plum stories. The main character, Lacey, is just as adorable and just as much of a trouble magnet.

The writing is very good, and the characters are well defined. There is humor "sprinkled" throughout, as well as plenty of action.

I expect this to become a favorite series among cozy readers over time.

This is my first time reading a story by Gina, but I am hooked. This story has more twists and turns than anything I can imagine. Every time you think you know what is going on another twist. Lacey can be pitiful but she is the underdog you root for, she is an accident just waiting to happen. Even though everything seems to go wrong for Lacey she is adorable with her "I've got it, I don't need a babysitter" sugar addicted attitude. Looking forward to the next book.

This is a great humorous cozy; this is the first book in the Lacey Luzzi Mafia Mysteries series. This book was written by Gina LaManna and narrated by Caitlin Kelly. Lacey Luzzi’s life is a roller coaster ever since she set out on a yearlong investigation to find her true family. The next thing she finds is her family’s secrets and that she is the long lost granddaughter of Carlos Luzzi, the Godfather of the Italian Mafia. She takes on her first assignment for the mob and enlists the help of her mouthy best friend and her cousin who is a technical genius and social disaster.

This book is a Janet Evanovich knockoff. Not quite as good as hers, but readable, just the same. The characters virtually matchup. Lacey-Stephanie, Meg-Lulu, Anthony-Ranger, Carlos- Vinnie, crazy grandparents, etc. Both books have Italian characters. Only difference is that Lacey is working for the mafia, and Stepanie is a bounty hunter. Both Stephanie and Lacey live in crappy apartments and get shot at, cars blown up, etc. Could make a case for copyright infringement. Nevertheless, I will probably read the next one to see if the writing gets a little better.

Okay, this was absolutely horrible one when I began reading I pegged the main character as a young adult 18 maybe 20 but that was pushing it how dumb she was but could be forgive if she was just making her way in the world just to only discover she was 29 like living acting like I can't even begin to describe her lets just put it as I just couldn't get into again knowing she was thirty and probably the most dumb immature nasty 30 year old ever, I couldn't even finish this book it was literally like nails on a scratch board bad and the everything was just dirty and not in that steamy good book dirty just dirty in no direction and actually not even sexy like when you were young and tried to sext for the first time..... Yeah no lets just say 13 year old me could come up with a better sex dialogue which is cringey to know at twenty

Really enjoyed this first book of Gina LaManna's Lacey Luzzi series. The tone and style remind me somewhat of the Stephanie Plum series, but this does have a unique flavor all it's own. I found it humorous and entertaining - just what I am looking for in this genre of writing. The mystery was not highly challenging, but it did have some turns. When I finished this one I moved right into the next book of the series "Sparkled", and I enjoyed that one a great deal as well. I will keep an eye out for additional installments of this series, and hope to see more of Lacey and her "Family" soon.

I came to this series looking for something similar to the Stephanie Plum series, and I'm BLOWN AWAY. I genuinely mean it. I love this series of books more than the Plum books. The characters in this book are so much more real than those in similar books, giving the reader something to connect in a more genuine way with while still having plenty of suspense and whimsy for the dreamer in us all to dream about. I cannot recommend reading this series enough if you enjoy a little romance, mystery, and self-reflection.

This woman is absolutely HILARIOUS!!! EVEN HER BIO MADE ME LAUGH!!!

I love reading a story that makes me not want to eat or drink anything because I am afraid I will spit laugh all over my screen...

Very well written and had a really hard time putting it down, only did the obligatory dinner and did it while reading. I don't even know if the dishes were done or if diner was even good, it was THAT good of a book!

I would read it again and hope that my friends listen when I say this is a MUST read!!!

Sprinkled is book 1 of the Lacey Luzzi series. It begins 2 years after the prequel. It took me a little bit to "catch up" with the changes in Lacey's life between these 2 books. However, after that the book just got better and better. Lacey is like the Stephanie Plum of Minnesota! There were several times I actually laughed out loud, which takes a lot for me. I cannot wait to find out what is in store for Lacey next! I would classify this series as comedy, mystery, with a bit of romance.

I enjoyed the book and It was a fun read. If you're looking for something intellectually stimulating, you should pass, but if you want to read something that's hilarious I suggest you get this book. I loved the flow of the writing and the hot "messery" of some of the characters was amusing to say the least. I also had the Audible edition and it was hard to listen to after having already read the book. The person has a clear speaking voice and good pronunciation but their accents are terrible.

Pros: Quick easy feel good read.
Cons: Caps for full sentences was annoying

Once I stumbled on Gina LaManna I have been hooked! I have quickly read all of her books and was terribly disappointed to find I am now all caught up on all of her series. These are very fun books with a light mystery and light romance. Nothing for anyone to be offended by, just pure fun! I am always sorry to see them end, except for the fact that I won't keep reading until day break to finish it.

The very best thing about this is decisions are actually made. I like the girl Lacey. She may be quite naive but she makes a decision, she sticks with it and when she is wrong, she adjusts! I love the comparison to Stephanie Plum. I like Lacey better because she actually appears to GROW UP!!!
Fun story. Just finished the next 2 and realized, Book 1 leads you quite nicely into the LUZZI world! Enjoy.

This book was dreadful. It was so loosely written it's a good thing it was on Kindle or it would have fallen apart. The sexual remarks are way overdone and juvenile. Lacey Luzzi is so dumb she probably couldn't even read about Stephanie Plum, let alone emulate her. I didn't think there could be a book worse than Hex on the Beach, but this one does it. Thank goodness it was on Kindle Unlimited, if I had paid for it, I'd be ill.

This first book in the series is entertaining enough, although I do think that the characters are a little too imitative of those in Janet Evanovich's popular Stephanie Plum series (a fact that, for some reason, slightly annoyed me).

That being said, it isn't a bad mystery series and it improves (both the stories and the writing) as the series progresses. If you're looking for a good beach read -- something light and not overly complicated -- this series should fit the bill.

I found this book to be almost comically horrible. There were so many plot holes and character mistakes. I unfortunately have a compulsion to finish a book once I've started and I couldn't wait for this one to end. I'm not continuing the series because I can only imagine how awful the rest are.

The granddaughter of the head of the Italian mafia, Lacey and her friends cause so much havoc it is a wonder they can solve the mystery.. this is not a book of drugs and murders as you would think of a mafia family, yes there may be a body or to but a great look at a Italian family.

As a person that typically sticks only to dark mafia books laced with blood and gore, I found myself doubting this book but as I was out of books to read I asked myself, why not?
BEST decision I made!!!! Hands down a mafia book that definitely steps away from the expected with deft humor that had me laughing...OUT LOUD, my husband kept on asking me what was so funny. His poor confused look when I couldn't explain elicited another round of giggles. That was yesterday night and since then I have devoured the first three books of the series.

Here you have a gal down on her luck who finds out she is the granddaughter of a Mob family. He gives her a few easy assignments, hence the fun begins. Kind of an interesting storyline. I seriously HATED this book. I did not even get past 20% of it. I picked it up because it was billed as a Stephanie Plum meets Tony Soprano. Well I think Tony Soprano would have offed this girl LONG before this book ever would have happened. Lacey is a cheap Stephanie Plum novel wannabe, to the point of where her best friend was like a knock off Lula. Even down to the details of the donuts. I felt the characters had no depth, and things were said randomly about them with no explanation of how or why. I had hoped this would be a new favorite series of mine but I guess maybe had I not read Janet's "Plum" books I would have thought this was good. However, even at Janet's worst, it was better than this!

Laugh out loud funny! :) Quick moving story line. Fun characters. It is very similar to Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, but the author states that in the synopsis, so it isn't a surprise. I look forward to more in this crazy (good crazy) series. :D The only negatives I can think of, are a few minor editing errors. Nothing major that would prevent me from wanting to read more.

What a heck of a way to start a series. Lacey is definitely a fish out of water starting her new job for her Family. This book was action packed, had some twists, and had some man candy to boot. I loved reading the misadventures of Lacey, Meg, and Clay. This is a perfect book if you aren't super into mysteries like me and like a fast and easy read. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm hooked on a mystery series.

I always enjoy humor mixed in with the romance and mystery. Colorful characters and story that kept my interest. Not equal to the Stephanie Plum novels, but entertaining and shows a lot of promise.

I didn't like this book and was glad it was free. I felt like it was trying too hard to be like the Stephanie Plum books (with hints of the hitwoman), but missing by more than a mile. I agree with other reviewers that this book just didn't make any sense and was a hard read for me, as I rarely quit reading mid book, to get to the end. I don't know if it was the writing style, the feeling that it was combining character traits from other great book series, or that it was just not what I was looking for in a cozy, but I can't bring myself to read the next one, even with kindle unlimited.

OMG...loved this whole series. The characters are literally laugh out loud crazy. But because I'm such a grammar nazi, some of the details were a bit off. But this series is a really good read. If you are expecting a lot of sex scenes go somewhere else. But it still gives that bit of warm belly romance thing without explicit details. Yummy!!

First book that I read by Gina LaManna and I plan to read more. The book had some twists and turns to the plot which I really liked. It kept me interested and wanted to keep reading until I knew what happened at the end.

The author has amazing talent for comedy, I haven't laughed that hard reading a book in ages. The story line was a fun light read, with mystery and a little romance. This book is stand alone, but I am so happy it's going to be a series, because already I want more Lacey, Meg, and Clay! If you need a good laugh, read this!

I just happened to come across this book browsing on the store and I'm so glad I did! It's like Janet evanovich's Stephanie plum series but better. It had me laughing from the beginning to end. I love the characters I love Lacey and Anthony together and Meg is hilarious. I can't wait to get to read more books in this series. And I just love the covers!

First installment in the Lacey Luzzi's series. Lacey takes her first job for her recently found Mob Family. Granddaughter of a Mob boss, Lacey is set on learning the family business starting from the bottom. Hilarious, well-written with very appealing characters, Sprinkled will keep you entertained from start to finish.

I have read every book in this series and they just keep getting better. I love the characters and the plots, they are different than the usual story lines. They are light and fun, but keep you guessing and entrigued. I'm always excited for the next book in the series to come out. I'm a big fan and not getting anything free to say this as some people have suggested in their comments.

Wasn't certain if I would like a series with the key person being a mafia granddaughter. HOWEVER, I love the entire series and can hardly wait to read the next book "Spooked". Gina LaManna writes a compelling main character and does a great job of keeping the story line. Any "sexual" content is incidental and not invasive or too explicit. Lacey Luzzi is a girl I can relate to. We both have to laugh at the weirdness in life...especially our own!

I was very disappointed in this book mostly because the main character was such an idiot. She meets a guy and then on the second date tells him everything about the job she is supposed to keep secret even though everything about this guy screamed not to trust him. I felt like the writer didn't put much thought in character development and really made her heroine very dumb and naive for being almost 30. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

Too slow, I lost interest and I had to force myself to complete reading to the end. I wanted to like this book, but the pace just never got there, I will admit to a few smiles in places, but not enough to compensate for the rest.

If you love the accidental adventures that work out, the unconventional funny families and the romance to boot, grab the Lacey Luzzi series. All nine books equal one delicious guilty pleasure served over hours of entertainment.

I enjoyed this book for what it was - a fun bit of fiction. I could see parallels between the characters of this book and the Stephanie Plum books. However a few chapters in I forgot about it and enjoyed the fun read - so much so that I read the next 3 books in the following week.

I absolutely LOVE this new series by Gina La Manna! It is HYSTERICAL....seriously LOL funny! I love the fact Lacey and Clay (cousins) live together and they are not spoiled mob grandchildren. All of the characters were great and the majority of them I look forward to seeing in future books. Gina LaManna did a superb job on her mafia series and I look forward to reading more books by her soon!

This is the first book I've read by Gina LaManna but it certainly won't be the last. Lough out loud funny with a bit of romance and mystery thrown in for good measure. My dogs kept looking at me with tipped heads while I was reading this as they were wondering just what I was laughing at!
I can't wait to see what Lacey will be up to next.

One of the best books I have read. Stephanie Plum has definitely met her match. If Lacey and Stephanie teamed up the world would be in serious jeopardy. Can't wait to read the next book in this series!

Terrible! Poor editing, weak plot, weak character developement, gratuitous skimpy clothing, I could go on and on. Sadly for me, it was the only e-book I had time to download before flying. I do not recommend it.

This was such a fun and flirty little mystery! Not every book can pull at your heart strings, hit your funny bone, and get you thinking. But this book was able to do all three and do it well! I enjoyed reading Sprinkled so much and I can't wait for what comes next for Lacey and her life in the mob!
