Spencer Lark really captured my attention in Savor the Danger. Who exactly is this bounty hunter? What is he up to? What side is he on? All male, absolutely alpha, and his need to help others just adds to his overall sex appeal. After losing his wife, Spencer is a protector and when he meets Arizona he recognizes a lost soul in need of rescuing. But Arizona doesn't want to be rescued...
Arizona Storm has faced a lot in her young life but instead of letting it wear her down she has turned her experience into a weapon, one she uses fight for those who may not have the ability to protect themselves. But to take down the one person who haunts her nightmare, Arizona needs help.
Together, Arizona and Spencer set off on a dangerous game of cat and mouse. They each may have their own reasons for wanting to take down the human trafficking ring but together find more than just a common ground, they find an undeniable passion that just might prove more dangerous to them then their enemies.

As with the rest of the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series, I loved this book and couldn't out it down!
Arizona is a tough nut to crack, with a thick shell and sometimes even a thicker head; she got under my skin often. But then that hard exterior just crumbled; it happened so fast my head was spinning and that vulnerability she abruptly showed didn't seem to jive with her character. However, she could still very much kick butt! A lot of this new side to Arizona had to do with Spencer who is very much a swoon-worthy hero. She ventures into new territory with her feelings for him and it's terrifying for her. But as Spencer helps her heal, he finds that she is healing him as well when he didn't even realize that he needed healing. Each must face their own inner demons if they hope find a future in each other's arms. I love Lori Foster's voice, you really can't go wrong with a book from this fabulous author and I believe that this series stands out above the rest. With a fast-paced plot, intriguing characters, intense situations and nail-biting action, A Perfect Storm was a great addition to the series. While I can't say that it was my favorite book in the series it was an enjoyable read that shouldn't be missed.

A Perfect Storm can be read as a stand-alone but why miss any of the deliciousness that the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series has to offer? This is one series that you'll be kicking yourself in the butt over if you miss any of it!

I'll admit this was my first time reading a romantic suspense. Before I read A PERFECT STORM I decided I should catch up on this series and read the rest of them. I love this whole series, but A PERFECT STORM is probably one of my favorites.

Spencer is an arrogant bounty hunter. He's never failed to complete an assignment and he's determined to complete his current assignment as well. When he runs into Arizona there is something about her that attracts him like a magnet. She's more than capable of taking care of herself, but Spencer being the man that he is won't let her be alone. He's decided that he'll be her protector. To which I add...I'd take him as my protector any day! Arizona is like a sister to Jackson and Spencer is on the outside of the group. I loved the way Lori Foster brought him into the fold without losing any of the suspense and secrecy from the other books.

Arizona is unlike the other women in this series. She's strong and has suffered a great deal thanks to human trafficking. Her situation is a delicate one and I thought Lori handled it perfectly. The whole subject of human trafficking can be tricky, so to watch these stories unfold and not send me running for the hills is amazing. Because of her past, Arizona is very independent and has zero intention of changing her ways. Of course Spencer doesn't either, and being that he's very much a protector, you can see where the fireworks would begin with these two.

A PERFECT STORM focuses all on Spencer and Arizona. There is very little else going on other than their story unfolding. I liked seeing Dare, Trace, and Jackson back in action, but it was Spencer and Arizona that kept me reading. The tension not only between them but also with the situation they are thrust into is something that kept me up well into the night reading, waiting for the happy ending.

I'd recommend this book as well as the other books in the series.

When we met Arizona Storm in the previous book, Savor the Danger, I wasn't sure if her character would be able to carry an entire novel. Because what Arizona has been through, she's defensive, emotionally scarred and distant. I knew that I would easily feel sympathy for Arizona but couldn't see her in the role of the romantic heroine.

A Perfect Storm is different from the previous books in the series in that I felt it was more character driven and centered around Spencer and Arizona's relationship than actual suspense. I felt that the suspense aspect was liking and didn't feel the rush and danger like in previous books. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. I prefer my rom suspense to be heavy on the romance (60/40) but it only works if you buy into the romance. For me, I could not get into Spencer and Arizona's romantic relationship. This is completely my own hang up but the age difference really bothered me. It bothered to the point that even though Spencer's character is a good and honorable guy, it felt skeevy to me. Even though Arizona is 21 (Spencer is 32), Arizona is very immature. After she was rescued by Jackson from the human traffickers, she was sent to a boarding school. Arizona is smart but when she opens her mouth, she sounds like a teen. I think it would have been better for me if her behavior as a whole was more mature despite her age. Then the 11 year age difference wouldn't have bothered me...much.

As much as I wanted to put the age difference out of my head and just enjoy the story, I could not. Like I said, Arizona's dialog is very immature and even though she can kick ass with the best of them, she is still an inexperience woman. Her sexual experiences are not the best and to me, to introduce sex with Spencer, despite the mutual attraction, felt wrong. The romance as a whole just felt wrong. This is the one time where I wished the story was more suspense than romance. Because at times, reading the sex scenes, I felt icky myself. And it didn't help that Dare, Trace and Spencer and the gang treated Arizona like a kid sister. For example, pulling on her ponytail and calling her brat. It also bothered me that they were ok with Spencer's sexual interest in her despite knowing Arizona's background. I would have thought that Jackson would beat Spencer's ass if he caught Spencer looking at Arizona sideways. Nope. Didn't happen.

I enjoyed revisiting the characters from the previous books and getting caught up with their lives. Chris Dare's man about the house, is always a hilarious treat as he tells it likes it is and sees what others don't.

A Perfect Storm is a good read if you are not turned off by the age difference. The book is wholly focused on Arizona and Spencer's journey. But for me, as much as I tried to put it out of my mind and enjoy the story for what it is, I couldn't. I think instead of sexing it up with Spencer to get past her fears and to confront her past, she should have had intense therapy instead.

Lori Foster's series Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor just keeps getting better and saved the best for last. A Perfect Storm unites two characters that we've had brief, but very memorable, glimpses of and pits them against each other in an emotional game of cat and mouse amidst the continuing danger of human trafficking. What results is a sexy story full of knuckle biting action with likable characters trying to overcome their past to make a future.

Arizona had a rough time growing up as a child in the world of human trafficking. She had to grow up way before her time and wants to finally experience the things she should have on her own terms. She's a tough girl who doesn't want to rely on anyone but senses she has feelings for widower Spencer that she wants to act on. Seeing her struggle to get others to let her live her life on her terms is heartening to see. Not only is she emotionally strong, but physically too as she tries to bring down another human trafficking ring.

Spencer's emotionally scarred too after the murder of his wife and the path of revenge he undertook to avenge the murder in a previous book. Getting talked into helping Arizona with her latest mission to right wrongs puts him into close contact with her which he's trying to keep from happening as he's attracted to her but keeps from acting on. She's much younger than him and after all the things she was forced to endure he doesn't want old painful memories to resurface. It's a noble gesture and one of the many reasons to like him. Unlike the other men in their agency Spencer trusts that she can take care of herself and lets her.

Once they finally give into their feelings they make a great couple. They balance each other out beautifully and their sexual interludes are sweetly satisfying and super sexy. The action scenes involving the human trafficking ring were exciting and action packed and didn't overtake the rest of the story. The glimpses of past characters were seamlessly interwoven throughout the story without taking away from the interactions between Arizona and Spencer. The only thing missing from this story and series was a HEA for Chris. He's been such a distinctive and supportive character throughout the series that I'd like to see a definitive ending for such a unique character.

A Perfect Storm is my favorite story in this series and if things were to end now I'd be satisfied with what's transpired. I still believe there's more stories to be told and will definitely jump on board again when/if Ms. Foster returns to this highly emotional world.

Since meeting Arizona Storm and discovering the hell she went through, Spencer Lark has attempted to keep his distance. Unfortunately, Arizona has no intention of staying away from him. Arizona wants Spencer's help. She thinks she has found another human trafficking ring like the one she fell victim to. Arizona will do whatever it takes to bring down as many human traffickers as she can with or without help but she would prefer Spencer's help to her surrogate brother Jackson's. Arizona knows Jackson and his crew of honorable mercenaries would help with her investigation but they would also make her sit at home under their protective shield while they take down the criminals.

Spencer knows it's best to stay away from Arizona but he's not about to let her run into danger without backup. How will he keep his hands off the beautiful woman while working in such close proximity? Can Arizona and Spencer bring down the human traffickers or will Arizona find herself at the mercy of traffickers once again?

Lori Foster's A Perfect Storm sets up the perfect combination of rich emotion, desire and suspense to keep the reader riveted. Arizona's character is very complex and interesting. It is quite fascinating thinking about Arizona's history and how that has shaped her current emotional state. The things that come out of her mouth range from wildly hysterical to unbelievable, and it works. I like that Spencer is kind of afraid of his feelings for Arizona. He knows the trauma that she has lived through and believes that because of their age difference he would be taking advantage of her. He constantly refers to her as "little girl" and it comes across as an attempt to distance himself from Arizona. However, it doesn't take him long to realize that his feelings are lustful, possessive and will not be denied. Arizona and Spencer's relationship can be awkward at times but the passion between them is sweet and blistering. The suspense portion of A Perfect Storm is good and interesting but this story truly focuses on the relationship of Arizona and Spencer. The trip into both character's psyche is as intriguing as it is entertaining and the romance is the icing on the cake. A Perfect Storm is a wonderful addition to the always exciting Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series!

Note: This series doesn't have to be read in order but I recommend that Savor the Danger be read before reading A Perfect Storm.

A Perfect Storm is the fourth book in the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series by Lori Foster.

Arizona Storm is a young woman with a very difficult past. She was sold to human traffickers when she was just seventeen and even though she was able to escape months after, the ordeal she had to live was something that would have broken anyone. But instead of breaking, Arizona didn't gave up and found in helping others a way to help herself.
Spencer Lark knows Arizona's past, he admires what she has overcome but at the same time he knows that deep inside she carries the scars left behind by her past. Scars that doesn't let her get close to people, even less trust or love anyone. Spencer wants to help her heal, she is young and deserves to be happy, loved and cherished. The only problem is that despite their age difference (Arizona 21, Spencer 32) Spencer can't help himself but feel attracted to her. He doesn't want to hurt her, he just wants to show her that there is more in life that just be an avenger. At the same time he doesn't want her to get too attached to him. He can't have a serious relationship with anyone because he hasn't been able to forget his dead wife.
When Arizona comes to Spencer for help to bring down a ring of human traffickers he knows he has to help her because knowing Arizona she will do it with or without his help. The only problem is that now they will have to spend more time together and fighting their attraction while being that close won't be an easy task.
The question is should they fight their attraction? Or should they leave their pasts behind and find peace and solace in each other arms?

I have always wanted to read Lori Foster but for some reason had never done it. When I saw this book in Netgalley I knew this was it, the now or never. What I didn't know was that this book belonged to a series. I realized it before reading it, I considered reading previous books first, but there were three books and I didn't have the time. After asking around I was told it could be read as a stand-alone, so that's what I did. Now that I finished it I can say, yes, this book could be read as a stand-alone but there is lots of background story about Arizona, Spencer and the rest of the "gang" that I think it would have been better to read previous books first. Don't take me wrong, I wasn't lost or anything like that, but there were many references to past events that I would have love to know more. I'm sure if I had read this book as part of the series my enjoyment would have been higher even though I really liked this book.

I loved how Mrs. Foster took a very difficult topic as human trafficking and gave it life in the pages. She doesn't write specifics but just enough to know what had happened making your heart break in many pieces.

In A Perfect Storm she gives us with Arizona and Spencer a broken heroine and a broken hero that find in each other the peace they didn't know were looking for.

I loved how Arizona is a mix of strength and fragility; she is also socially awkward and doesn't know how to relate to others. All this made her more real, endearing and believable to me.

Spencer is a dreamy hero. I loved how caring and protective he was; one of the things I liked the most about him was his resistance on the beginning to get involved with Arizona, when he had not yet realized that because of Arizona's experiences she was more mature than her years. I really admired him because of that; he didn't want to take advantage of her even though he could have done it many times.

The secondary characters (Jackson and Alani, Trace and Priss, Dare and Molly) were all great, I really want to go back and read their stories. But one character that I stole my heart was Chris, I loved how he was the only one that was able to see Arizona for what she was and what she really needed before anybody else did and his words of advice were wise beyond his years. I really want to know more about him and hopefully Mrs. Foster gives him a nice and deserving HEA.

All in all A Perfect Storm was a very enjoyable read, with great characters, a complex word and a fast moving plot that will have you glued to its pages. As I said before I'm planning to go back and read previous book of this series. I can also tell you that all the hype about Lori Foster writing is truth, her writing style is spotless, fluid and engaging. She is an author you cannot miss.

4.5 of 5 Stars

I really liked reading A Perfect Storm, book 4 in Lori Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series. This story is about Arizona storm and Spencer Lark. Arizona, once a victim of a human trafficking ring herself, is determined to find operating human trafficking outlets and shut them down. Knowing the danger, Arizona asks Spencer to be her back up. Spencer agrees, he wants to keep Arizona safe, and also show her that not all men are cruel.

I really loved the character. Arizona is very up front, she says exactly what she means, she is bold and determined, and she can kick butt when she needs to. Spencer and her friends want to help her, but they don't always understand her. For a woman with a tragic past, Arizona proves to be resilient, but not overly so. She still has her issues, and she has a lot to learn, especially when it comes to trust. Spencer, he was almost too perfect, he is the kick-ass hero with a heart of gold. He is a tough man, but he does have honor, he is very considerate of Arizona's issues, and he balances his want for Arizona with the need to be gentle with her. Spencer was a bounty hunter when he was first introduced in the series, but after meeting and helping Arizona, he is becoming more involved with the other men from the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor Series.

A Perfect Storm is an excellent book. The writing is fantastic, the story is fast-paced, and the characters are engaging. I have to commend Lori Foster for writing such a stand out series, she has taken some tough content (human trafficking is no joke) and written stories, characters, and relationships that are real and believable. Overall, The Men Who walk the Edge of Honor Series is an outstanding romantic suspense series.

Romantic suspense fans, I highly recommend reading the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series. You do not have to read the books in order, but I would recommend it. Spencer and Arizona are both introduced in book 3, Savor the Danger (Hqn).

We're finally getting back to Arizona & Spencer after meeting them in book 2 of this easy to read series. They are still sizzling!

While I enjoyed this book and it was great to have Arizona leading the charge for a welcome change of pace, it just didn't feel quite as urgent as the others. For me it was skewed partially for flow the series and partially because this may be the last of the series and wasn't a fitting swan song in my opinion. Each of the books work well as a stand-alone and can be read out of order without destroying continuity. I think it may have worked better as book 3 instead of book 4.

As usual for this series their story has the background of human trafficking and Arizona fights her own demons from her time as a victim while Spencer proves his honor by helping her battle those demons while struggling to keep the distance between them. Arizona's stumbled onto what she believes is a network of traffickers and believes she can both be with Spencer and bring down the trafficking ring without help from the other guys. Arizona's blunt & earthy personality is definitely not run of the mill as she is definitely a warrior woman in the making. She and Jackson had great chemistry together and his personality fit in well with the Jackson, Trace & Dare. For me of course there wasn't enough Chris but there seldom is.

Synopsis:
Former human traffic victim heroine learns to adjust to ` the new normal' while she falls in love with an alpha hero. Heroine is too feral and too determined to take down human traffickers. She's been on her own hunting the bad guys for years, and travels around with an arsenal in her trunk and chillingly..... a shovel. Eventually, `el hero' learns that you can take the girl out of the action, but you can't take the `action' out of the girl, so he accepts her for what she is.

Positives:
The novel includes Dare, Trace, Jackson and their wives from the previous three books. They don't just make a quick howdy-do appearance and disappear, they are an integral part of the story.

Negatives:
IMO, I felt like the author might have gotten.... bored with her characters by this - the 4th book in the series. It didn't have the action and intense drama of Trace and Dare's stories. The fierceness that characterizes this series seemed to.... flicker in and out.....in this novel. Mostly out. It wasn't bad, just not the best of the series.

Um. The bad guys were kinda dumb. And not that bad.
Who is bankrolling this group? Dare has not one, but TWO power boats? Jackson can GIFT a house!?

That said, I still enjoyed the book because it's a Foster. She is as always entertaining. Buy it and enjoy!

Augusta had many issues after being abused in human trafficking. She was wary of all men and unable to trust them. Spencer saw her for the wounded soul she was and even though he wanted her something fierce, he gave himself multiple reasons why she couldn't be his. The only trouble with that was it didn't curb his desire for her...and Augusta was only becoming more curious about Spencer and his toned body.

This was my first book in the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor Series (and unfortunately I came in at the tail end), but it's not the average Lori Foster romance, in my opinion. Although, yes it is a romance, I felt that it's more basic fiction. I wasn't as impressed with this book as I was with previous romances she's written. There really is no damsel in distress and rescuing hero. Augusta is a woman more than capable of taking care of herself, which is good, but it pretty much tempers the romantic feelings and tender loving care of the relationship between her and Spencer. There is some danger involved, but I had a harder time getting involved in the story and I read it at a much slower pace than I normally would. Since I know of Ms. Foster's previous work, I'm still excited to see what's coming next and look forward to getting back to the front of the line to buy her next book!

I was not surprised that I enjoyed this book in the series since the others were really good, too. Arizona goes to Spencer to ask for some backup as she checks out a bar she suspects is dealing with human trafficking. Of course, she can sometimes get in over her head, so Spencer agrees (with the help of Dare, Trace, and Jackson). During the process, Spencer and Arizona's relationship grows and while he thinks he is helping her overcome past issues, she actually helps him with the issues he was not aware of. At first Arizona was annoying to me with her attitude, however, considering what she had been through I think it was justified. I enjoyed watching the two learn how to trust each other and deal with the other one. I was so afraid for Arizona and what she was going to run into, but knew the guys would be at her side if she did get into trouble. I really liked Arizona's up front attitude - especially with Marla and how she reacted to Spencer when learning how to care for someone and be intimate with someone. Arizona was such a fascinating character. I almost cried during a scene at Dare's house when Spencer had to come to Arizona's rescue over something so innocent. I really enjoyed watching both Arizona and Spencer grow. I would recommend this to anyone who has read the series (and even those that have not!).

While I really like this series and all the books have been really good I must say that I didn't like this book as much as the previous ones. I just didn't like Arizona all that much. I mean she's suppose to be this kick-ass 21 year old woman with a horrible past, but to me she came off as a bratty 12 year old who uses her past as an excuse to go off and do dangerous things by herself because she thinks she doesn't deserve anything else. I understand her history with human traffickers and prostitution makes her leery of men but she acted as if she knew nothing of what goes on between two people or why two people would even want to be together. And Spencer must have the patience of a saint to put up with her and the stuff she pulls. I did like the idea of Spencer being brought into the company with the other guys and hopefully there will be others brought in. With the way the book ended it sounds like there will be a follow up. These books definitely need to be read in order to get the full effect.

There was a lot about the topics in this book that made me uneasy. It is very hard to read about people trafficking and the lasting effects it has on Arizona Storm. In the beginning, Arizona drove me mad, I had a hard time connecting with her and her attitude issues. The further I got into it though I began to feel bad for her and the situation that she had to endure. Spencer, on the other hand, I liked from the first time he was introduced. Not to mention, the next in this series are just HOT.

This was a quick paced and action packed story. Lots happens in a very short amount of time. People change and that makes it a very interesting read. It is hard to discuss a lot of the story for this one because it would give too much of the story away. I will say that the chemistry is OUTSTANDING! I did not want to put this one down because I just wanted more of it. But there is more to it than just the chemistry.

I quickly became enthralled with the story line of the series.

Trace, Dare, and Jackson's stories were consecutively released. Month after month, so when it came to Arizona's story I was becoming a little bit annoyed, and by the time the book was finally released I had read at least a hundred other books. With a quick review of the excerpts of the previous books I was quickly up to speed.

As always Lori Foster writing style lures the readers into another world, a world of Human Trafficking. I loved that Spencer took into account the life Arizona had to overcome, yet unwillingly feel in love with her regardless of her past and her hurdles.

This is a great read and would recommend to my 16 year old daughter. If not only to scare her into realizing life is not always as we believe it to be, but the boogie man is out there ready to grab up the gullible and naive.

I must say that the reviews that complained of Arizona being immature don't know much about the nature of abuse. Arizona's character is the way she is for a reason. This entire series dealt with the topic of human trafficking...not a pretty subject overall, but this is the first in the series where the heroine was actually the one abused. I thought Lori Foster did an excellent job capturing the feelings and actions of someone abused. LF seemed thorough with her research and it showed in the story line. Arizona is young and has major trust issues and she is constantly testing Spencer, and he was there for her every step of the way. Spencer is perfect for her...caring and understanding, as well as strong and sexy, and willing to let her set the pace for whatever happened between them. Women who are abused can find love and learn to like sex with the right man.

This was heavy material, but I think LF did a great job keeping the subject matter light with the chemistry and banter between Spencer and Arizona. The recurring roles of Dare, Trace, and Jackson and their wives were fun, but not over done. I love LF books and this series was no different. High praise to her for having the guts to write about something real yet keeping is fun, romantic, and suspenseful!

I have liked all the books in this series so far. I would suggest reading the others in the series first (but is not necessary) just so you can get a better understanding of Arizona's relationship with the other men that are mentione in this book.

Overall good read and would recommend this series and this book to anyone who enjoys something I would consider maybe an action thriller type book with romance thrown in.

A large part me thinks this book and this whole series is ridiculous fluff but a bigger part of me just does not seem to care. I love Foster's writing, I love the overly spunky and overly alpha heros who are always nice and well hung.

There is no way no matter how "special" as the boys insist she is that Arizona would not need way more sexual healing after her past. Spencer also is clueless for way too long.

None the less, this book is a ton of fun. Arizona keeps getting to kick ass. Spencer glowers. The cast of the other books is around.

Fun! Fun! Fun! And the underlying message about accepting people how they are is nice.

I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to the Lori Foster's release of A Perfect Storm. You see, I knew this was the last book in her Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series and I really was not prepared for it to end. Throughout this series Lori has given us hunky, kick-ass, alpha males that you can't help but love. In addition she's given us heroines who have been abused mentally and physically, yet they still have spunk, drive, and know their own minds. Add in an assistant, Chris, that each of would kill to have in our lives, terrific dialog, a hope that there are people like them out there busting up human trafficking rings, and you have one terrific series.

Arizona Storm meets Spencer Lark in book 3 of this series during a bar fight. Their paths cross a few more times in that story and this book starts about a month after their initial meeting. Both of these characters are strong, capable, and have experienced some trauma in their lives. There is more I want to say, but I can't without spoilers and I don't want to do that to anyone.

Spencer is an alpha male to the max. He's large and in charge but for Arizona he backs off and tends to let her set the pace. I love how easily he's able to figure out Arizona because she is a complicated woman. He's so honorable and works hard to help Arizona overcome a lot in their time together. Mainly I love the patience he shows both with Arizona and his somewhat stalkerish neighbor, Marla.

Arizona, I seriously don't know where to start with her. I admire her character so much. Despite everything she's endured in her life, she is one amazing lady. She refuses to dwell on her past, she's independent (almost to a fault), honest, won't accept pity from anyone, and she's tough. She is a great judge of character as evident when she meets the aforementioned Marla. In spite of her past once she meets Spencer she realizes that she wants more from life.

The majority of this story is wrapped around the relationship between Arizona and Spencer. Yes, there is some action in this book but not as much as the others. For the most part, I didn't feel the "threat" that I felt in the other books, but that was okay by me. These characters and their story needed to be told differently because they are truly special people. There are some really great scenes with all of the characters from the previous books including one hilarious scene in which Arizona presents herself dressed to go out to catch some scumbags and the guys all freak out. Seriously, laugh out loud funny! But, I truly love the birthday party scene in which Chris plays a HUGE part in making everyone understand Arizona's psyche better. Chris is such an amazing guy and he deserves his happily ever after. I'm sad that Lori has no plans to write his story because I have no doubt it would be remarkable.

For me A Perfect Storm is sincerely a PERFECT ending to this series! I have loved this series and waited not so patiently for each new release, but this one is by far my favorite. Arizona and Spencer are one special couple and I am so happy they found each other! Thank you Lori for giving us a these wonderful characters and for making your readers aware of how human trafficking is everywhere and that it affects us all.

4 1/2 stars! "A Perfect Storm" by Lori Foster is the latest in her enjoyable series of about the mercenaries (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor) who have taken on those who perpetrate the heinous crimes of sex trafficking. Arizona is a young woman who was rescued from one such horrible situation by Jackson Savor but has never really had a normal life. She has been gathered into the family consisting of Jackson, his partners and their respective mates but still feels the burning need to avenge herself as well free other victims caught in the same horrific trap. Spencer Lark is a bounty hunter who has crossed paths with the tight-knit group and Arizona feels that he stole her revenge away when he dealt with the woman in charge of one of the horrible organizations. Spencer is startled to discover that the emotionally damaged young woman has blossomed into an adult who has honed her skills with all manner of lethal weapons but hasn't quite healed from the damages to her psyche. His protective instincts war with his attraction to the female that he feels is too young and fragile for his own self-protective style of personal relationships. Spencer has his own demons to fight and scars of his own to deal with but Arizona just might force them to find a way to heal each other even as they search for a comfortable working relationship with Jackson and and his colleagues.

A great addition to a very entertaining series about extremely competent mercenary men who have made it their mission to free as many victims and destroy as many sex and forced labor trafficking rings as possible. Arizona is an enchanting mixture of competent self-confident fighter (I thought I had a lot of things necessary for being prepared in my car trunk!) and insecure damaged former victim. Spencer is a rough-edged protector who wants to compensate for some of the horrors that she has experienced yet has his own issues, not least of which is dealing with Arizona's self-appointed guardian and colleagues. A testament to the healing power of taking action to combat or eliminate past traumas and the importance of a good support group. A sizzling and heart-warming read that also gives cameos of favorites from the previous stories in the series (2- and 4-footed) while drawing a beautiful portrait of courage.

I like Arizona Storm she is fiesty. Arizona has had a hard life her father was abusive and sold her to human traffickers. Arizona does not give up. She escaped from them. Unfortunately she was got and to teach a lesson to the others. Arizona was tied up and thrown off a bridge into a river. Arizona still struggled to survive.
Jackson was down by the river and saw her. He jumped in and grabbed her. Arizona thought he was one of the bad guys and fought him. Jackson rescued and brought her into his family. Even paid for her to go to a finshing school. Jackson,Dare,Chris and Trace all live close and work together to stop human traffickers and make good money. Jackson was like her big brother and wanted to keep her safe. They had her working the computers, backgrounds. Arizona wanted more.
Arizona on her 21 birthday broke into bounty hunter Spencer Lark's house and sat watching him sleep. Arizona met him on another job and felt she could trust him. She found a bar that she thought was dealing in smuggling. She wanted to be bait and catch the bad guys and free the others that are like her.
Spencer agreed to help her because he knew she would do it on her own. Spencer has been fighting his feelings for Arizona. He was 11 years older than her. He wanted to help her get over her fears and protect her.
Part of a deal he was making with her was everytime she swore she owed him a kiss. He would help her and go to Jackson up comming wedding.
Arizona carries a gun in a ankle holster and a knife down her back and is willing to fight dirty & smart. She has some issues dealing with men and swimming in water. She was working to get over them.
This is a good story and I wish their are many more heros out their and less bad guys in real life. I want to go back and read other stories in this group of books. I was given this ebook to read in exchange of a honest review from Netgalley.

I have been sooo hesitant to read this book. I loved the first three stories. Loved the guys, the ladies, Chris, all the characters, the animals....I just loved the books. They came out one, two, three. Then there was Arizona and Spencer. I just could not see it. She was so angry and messed up. Foolhardy. Trouble. Not someone you could ever want to be around. Spencer was so much older. With his own past. I just could not make myself read this book. It was such a long long time between the first three and this one. I loved the first three and I could not see how this one would fit. How these characters could get together. How they could be likable at all. I did not want the series marked with a bad ending. They should have just stopped. Had some kind of an epilogue for Arizona and let it go.
I should not have worried. And when it comes to Lori Foster, I wont worry again.
I hate that the series is over. There were so many moments in this story. I cried and laughed. And all in between. I gasped at page 297. Unable to imagine how they could ever get past it. Crying at how strong Arizona is. Feeling pride for her.
I fell so in love with Arizona & Spencer. As a couple and as people. I could never have imagined how much they would touch me. Having never been close to such things as Arizona has, I could not think how a person could get thru. But she does. And he does too.
I know there are a lot of peoples reviews upset at how Arizona & Spencer deal with it all. But who is to say how anyone should? Doesnt everyone have their own way to survive anything? There are no rules for anyone. This story is full of love. So much love and support and the strength of the human spirit. I loved this book and the whole series.

First Thought when Finished: I expected to be WOW'd by Arizona but really it was Spencer that stole that story!

What I Loved: Spencer! I wasn't sure what I would think about him when the story started. He, above anyone else, pointed out his flaws, why he wouldn't be good for Arizona, and several other reasons why a girl should find him a good man but a damaged one. Yet, it was because of all of that and his treatment of Arizona that he became the most compelling character in this story. Arizona had a distinct way of making him prove through actions what kind of man he truly was! It was his treatment of Arizona and his neighbor that really sold his "good man" status to me. Needless to say I loved the man!

What I Liked: Arizona! I was already intrigued by her at the end of Jackson's story. She had a horrific past and the more we found out about it in this book, the more I wonder how the poor gal was functioning at all. Instead, while she did have her flaws, she was fighting to live and fighting to prevent people from being used the way she was. I admired Arizona in so many ways. She had a shaky road but managed to work her way through it. While I didn't find her as intriguing as Spencer, I did find her compelling.

What was a little lacking: Not enough of the other wives even though we saw the Boys. Since this was the last in the series I wanted a little more time with them.

Final Thought: I really loved the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series. It was my first time reading Lori Foster but it won't be my last!

Ok before I begin, I have been a long-time reader and fan and I love Lori Foster. Her books are always HOT, with strong alpha-male heros-- yum my favorite reading territory. But sadly, in A Perfect Storm, Ms. Foster's story falls short. Spencer and Arizona are great characters, but their story is all too familiar. Sadly, if you've read one book in this series, you've read them all! I realize the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series is based on human trafficking, but couldn't and wouldn't the guys find their way into other unlawful activities?

Quick & Dirty: A character-driven plot that is not action packed but the romance is hot.

Opening Sentence: Arizona Storm sat quietly on the overstuffed chair, her chin resting on her drawn-up knees, her fingers laced together around her shins.

The Review:

Arizona Storm has been dealt a raw hand at life. She was given over to human traffickers while she was still a teenager as a sex slave. She escaped from her captors but then was caught. They decided they needed to teach a lesson for the others in captivity and left her for dead but then she was rescued by Jackson. Arizona is now twenty-one and she is determined to stop the kind of people that once held her captive. The revenge she wanted for her own captors was taken away by Spencer and she does hold it against him but not for long.

Spencer Lark is a bounty hunter. His wife was killed three years ago in a robbery gone bad. He has been strangely drawn to Arizona ever since he first saw her but he is hung up on the fact that there is a twelve year age difference between them. Spencer also knows about Arizona's past so he knows that she will have problems getting close to someone.

Arizona breaks into Spencer's home while he is sleeping. Something Spencer finds a little hard to deal with at first but then it doesn't bother him. She has come to him with a job opportunity. She has scoped out a business that she believes is a front for human traffickers and she wants Spencer's help in infiltrating the place.

Arizona is a strong woman but she does have her hang-ups, their names are Trace, Dare, Jackson and Spencer. They just want to protect her but she doesn't want to be protected. She wants to catch the bad guys and help fight. She has a weakness towards the underdogs and wants to help them. Arizona has no problem speaking her mind and asking uncomfortable questions. I found Spencer's neighbor Marla a little annoying but at the same time I felt sorry for her because of the questions Arizona kept asking her. She wants to know how real relationships work but since she has only been used she doesn't understand the workings of a loving relationship.

Human trafficking is a heavy subject to talk about and this story really isn't an exception. It weighs heavily on the tone of the story. A Perfect Storm is a character driven story. It focuses on the relationship between Arizona and Spencer in depth. It is almost 200 pages in by the time they go to the business to check it out when the action starts to kick in. The tension starts to run pretty high and the one thing that I thought would happen didn't happen, thankfully. This is not an action driven story.

When Arizona and Spencer inevitably hook up it is hot. Spencer has no problem helping Arizona through her problems. He tells himself and Arizona that it is just to help her with developing a healthy relationship with someone else. Arizona knows that she can only get through her problems with Spencer and Spencer alone. She just hopes that he realizes that before it's too late.

Overall, A Perfect Storm is a pleasant read even though the subject material is heavy. Arizona and Spencer have a special relationship that helps make each other a better person. I can't wait to see if there is more in store for them.

He never saw her coming...

Spencer Lark already knows too many secrets about Arizona Storm, including the nightmare she survived and her resulting trust issues. But in order to expose a smuggling ring--and continue avenging his own tragic past--the bounty hunter reluctantly agrees to make Arizona a decoy. Yet nothing has equipped him for her hypnotic blend of fragility and bravery, or for the protective instincts she stirs in him.

Arizona wants to reclaim her life, which means acting as bait to lure the enemy into a trap. Sure it's dangerous, especially with a partner as distractingly appealing as Spencer. But as their plan--and their chemistry--shifts into high gear, Arizona may discover there's an even greater risk in surrendering her heart to a hero...

* * * * *

A PERFECT STORM is the fourth book in the Men Who Walk The Edge Of Honor series and I am assuming that it will be the last one. I can't really see where another book would come from unless Chris gets his own book but we will see. Overall this has been a rather good series and I do have to admit that this book in particular has been my favorite.

What really sets it apart is Arizona. She has gone thru hell in the past being sold as a sex slave and then rescued. That has really caused some scars that need to be reopened and healed. Luckily she trusts Spencer enough to allow the healing process to start. Some of the scenes between them were almost enough to bring tears to my eyes.

Spencer has his own growing to do also. He is an alpha male which automatically makes him protective of any female and even more so to one he cares for. What he needs to understand is that Arizona is a warrior in her own right and to respect her ability to protect herself and others.

I think that what I appreciated most about this book was the hard look at human traffickers. It is happening yet so many people want to sweep it under the rug. Ms. Foster has presented it in a way that is palatable to her readers. And the more folks that know about it, the closer we are to stopping it. Kudos to Ms. Foster for presenting a clear look at this uncomfortable subject.

I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys romantic suspense. I would rate this book a 3.4.

Arizona Storm is a bit of a conundrum to Bounty Hunter, Spencer Lark. She is young, beautiful and determined to play vigilante. After her near death experience where human traffickers threw her off a bridge into water where they fully expected her to drown, Arizona was saved by Jackson Savor. Jackson quickly claimed Arizona as a sister of sorts and attempts to make up for the awful life she had up to her near-drowning. Arizona tries to acclimate herself to Jackson and his cohorts, but after all the horror and abuse she has been through in her young life, she has many issues, trust being a big one. For some reason, Arizona has taken to Spencer and trusts him.

Later, Arizona, now 21, breaks into Spencer Lark's home while he is sleeping He wakes to find her in his bedroom watching him sleep. Arizona has a proposition for Spencer. She has been investigating a bar and grill that she believes is heavily involved with the trafficking of humans and she wants to shut them down, and she needs Spencer's help, without Jackson finding out what she is up to. Spencer, knowing the danger Arizona will be putting herself in makes an agreement with Arizona and in a round about way includes Jackson and the other men with this task.

Spencer's attraction to the beautiful Arizona is obvious, but he keeps pushing it aside with the excuse that Arizona is too young for him. He also uses the fact that he lost his wife to the same human trafficking organization three years prior as a big stumbling block to move on. Out of everyone Arizona knows, Spencer is the only one who truly understands her issues and her motivations. With Spencer's sense of humor and understanding of Arizona, she begins to come out of her emotional shell and experience feelings a normal young female should feel. Spencer is also in awe of Arizona's strength and determination to squash these human traffickers while coming into her own.

I have to say it, this was my favorite book in the series so far. First I love Arizona. She is gritty and honest while at the same time completely vulnerable. Spencer and Arizona have this steamy chemistry throughout that just makes for an amazing ride. Both characters, come together so well to overcome their pasts. Lori Foster has such a way of making a couple just mesh that I am in awe of her. An awesome MUST read!!!

A Perfect Storm is the next title in Lori Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series, and I was excited to read it. I was sucked into the series from the first book, When You Dare, and though book # 2- Trace of Fever - didn't leave my raving, Savor the Danger reeled me back in to the series. During Savor the Danger we meet Spencer Lark and Arizona Storm, and these are the characters that are focused on throughout A Perfect Storm. Arizona is a twenty-one year old who was put through hell courtesy of her own father when he put her up for human slavery and sex trafficking. Jackson (Savor the Danger) saves Arizona from her captures and becomes like a brother to her, but Arizona is all about remaining independent - and intent on making sure any other human traffickers are brought to justice. Spencer has his hands full trying to keep Arizona safe, and now realizes he is starting to develop feelings for her on top of it. But with the recent death of his wife, should he be looking at another female? And Arizona is so untamed, so determined to live life her own way, that it would be near impossible for them to make it as a couple. But before they can sort out their relationship, another bad guy must be brought to justice.

I liked A Perfect Storm, not quite as much as books 1 and 3, but more than Trace's. Arizona was a bit of a hot mess from time to time, but from her past I don't think anyone could really blame her. I thought the plot was interesting with the bar that they were trying to expose - the bad guy in the end really surprised me and I thought it was a fabulous twist. It was great to catch up with the characters from the past books as well, and I read this fairly quickly. My only gripes are that it just seemed to be a lot of the same stuff - a petite girl with a huge rack, muscular dude that is so well-endowed the girl is a little afraid to be with him. Girl with a lot of trust issues that needs to be talked through the intimate moments. I would like to see maybe a little different scenario, but I understand the series is about guys who are professional mercenaries, so I can't expect them to be a whole lot different. With that fact shoved aside, I really did enjoy this book and would definitely recommend this series from Lori Foster!

Holy smokes. This cover. THIS COVER. Wow. You had me at your delectable abs and manly pecs, Spencer Lark. And the wet t-shirt? Divine. The awesome thing here, though, is that there's more to this book than just a hunky cover. It's true! There's danger and excitement and a tipsy young woman who likes to fight and some hot, hot sexin'.

For the record, I haven't read any previous books in this series. YET. I picked this one up on a whim (yes, for the cover) and I dove in before I managed to get the rest of them. That said, I didn't have a problem coming into the series on book 4 and I picked up enough about the previous heroes (the heroes had a bigger part than the heroines, although we did get to meet them all) to want to read their stories now. Sexy Alpha males who know how to treat their ladies right are a particular weakness of mine.

I must say that I really liked Arizona's emotional journey. Her past has damaged her. Her sexual encounters up to this point have been violent and against her will. She knows she has problems -- more than just issues with intimacy, really. She deals with them by facing them head-on. It's not always pretty and she has a big problem with looking weak in front of others, but she jumps in with both feet and forces herself to handle it. She trusts Spencer enough to know that he won't hurt her and she blossoms under his care.

Spencer. Oh, Spencer. He has the sexy working for him. He's trying to be all noble and help Arizona heal from her issues. It doesn't quite work out like he planned, though. For the most part because Arizona might be slightly battered but she's not broken. She knows this. She just has to convince him (and the other men on the team) that she's willing and able to help them just the way she is. She knows what she wants and she goes after it with determination. Lots of determination. I liked it.

Fun and sexy enough that I'm going to backtrack and read the previous books (which also have hot covers, in case you were wondering) so I can see how it all plays out.

Talk about an interesting and humorous way to start a book; it has been a while since I've read a book that had me wondering where everything was going simply by starting out with the female lead having just broken into the alpha male's house and watching him sleep... in the nude. Boy did my thoughts go several different directions [get your mind out of the gutter!] while I waited to see how said alpha male would react when he woke up. Lori Foster has managed to write several books, this one included, that continue to tell a solid story while introducing a wide variety of characters that stick with you and make you want to cheer for them as they overcome obstacles.

In this book, Foster returns to her Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series about a group of alpha males who are out fighting for the weak and abused while remaining strong in the face of danger. Arizona Storm, the girl - er, woman - who was nearly killed by a human trafficking ring several times, returns to seek vengeance against those who wronged her. Unfortunately, just as she prepares to do so, her goal is ripped away from her by Spencer Lark, who is intent on his own revenge. Arizona is hell-bent on ridding the world of the scum like those that destroyed her innocence and nearly killed her. Arizona's no-holds-barred mission to take down bad guys tests Spencer at every turn... along with her bodacious bod. Both Arizona and Spencer have had to deal with tragedy in their lives and need to work together to heal; the question remains whether or not they will be able to work together to do so, and whether those flying sparks will create a warm fire or a flaming inferno.

A Perfect Storm by Lori Foster is the fourth book in The Men Who Walk The Edge of Honor series. I have not had the opportunity to read the first three books yet. However that wasn't a problem. I was able to keep up with the story line. If you're like me and haven't read the previous books, you can pick this one up and not feel lost in the story.
Spencer and Arizona are the couple this book focuses on. Spencer is still hurting from the tragic loss of his wife. Arizona has a heart-breaking past of her own. She doesn't trust anyone and rightly so. Arizona is brave and has good instincts. Spencer is used to being in control. He feels very overprotective of Arizona. She partners up with Spencer to try to take down a smuggling ring.
Arizona has a great personality. Despite everything that's happened, she is a fighter. That is a strong appeal to her character. Spencer and Arizona have great chemistry together. They humorously banter back and forth quite a bit. The story line in A Perfect Storm is really exciting. It has a lot of action and suspense. Overall it's a good story. I would absolutely check out the other books in this series as well.

We met Spencer and Arizona in book three of Lori Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series and there was a little spark of something between the two. Spencer lost his wife and can't imagine loving anyone again like he did with her, until Arizona comes roaring into his life and throwing everything off balance. Arizona has no close family, her "adoptive" family of Jackson, Dare, Trace and their wives want to keep her close to help and protect her, but that's absolutely not what Arizona wants or needs. She doesn't know how to handle love and compassion and she can't be wrapped in cotton. Action excites her and it's a part of who she is and it usually means she finds herself right in the middle of everything; much to Jackson and now Spencer's dismay.

Catching human traffickers is how we open the book. Arizona is doing the research for Dare, Trace and Jackson's company, but it doesn't stop her at all from getting out in the field and doing a little recon on her own. She's targeted a bar that all leads point to a being a front to human trafficking. She wants to go in, get a job and plant herself on the inside to get all the information needed to bring it down. Spencer can't stand to let her put herself in danger and agrees to partner with her on the case so he can keep on eye on her. The suspense portion of the story is centered around this case as well as an unknown man who sets his sights on Arizona and wants her all for himself.

The case surrounding the human trafficking really didn't dominate the story. It was all about Arizona and Spencer and how together they were able to help Arizona move past some of her traumatic past. She was sold by her father into human slavery and suffered everything horribly imaginable until she managed to escape. She recounts the night she was caught, tied up and tossed into a river and how Jackson saved her. It's hard for Spencer to hear, but she only opens up to him and he wants and needs to be that man for her. Even with their relationship taking up much of the page time, it was still all about Arizona. I found myself laughing at and with her and admiring her character for how strong and resilient she is.

Where this story lacked for me was the relationship she has with Spencer. I have nothing against age differences, to me age is just a number. But the age difference between Spencer and Arizona really stood out. She's a newly turned 21, he's 32 and while eleven years isn't a big difference, it felt that way between them. Arizona is very naïve and inexperienced when it comes to relationships. She had a horrible past that prevented her from ever feeling comfortable enough around men to try and be with someone intimately. Spencer breaks down those walls she put up, and he was very sweet and understanding and showed her more caring than she'd ever known. I just had a hard time buying the relationship. Arizona, for all she's gone through, comes across a bit juvenile and immature at times and I didn't feel any kind of connection that would be long term between her and Spencer.

There are some great scenes between Arizona and all the men we've gotten to know over the past three books. They want to pull her into their family and Arizona takes a long time to believe them. She's one that always had a reason to just wait for the other shoe to drop and to see her oh-so-slowly start letting these people into her life for the long haul, it's very satisfying to watch her accept having people in her life and not fight the love they want to give her.

I can't let a review within this series go without mentioning my most favorite supporting character, Chris. He's only one page for a very short time, but there's just something about him that I enjoy every single time he shows up and I love seeing him interact with all the characters, in this case he has a nice moment with Arizona. Spencer and Arizona are both great, interesting characters that I enjoyed reading about. Their relationship together I struggled with a bit, not fully being able to get on board with them. I really enjoyed the characters of Spencer and Arizona individually, but I wasn't sold on them together.

A Perfect Storm was a really pleasant surprise for me! This is the 4th book in The Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series and although I haven't read the previous 3 books in the series, let me tell you, there wasn't a problem whatsoever to follow the story of Spencer and Arizona! Surely, at first I kind of felt that I was missing some crucial parts of their history but soon enough everything was cleared and I was able to really enjoy their story. I'm pretty certain, that having not read at least the third book in the series, where both heroes make their first appearance made me somehow miss a little bit of the dynamic of their relationship, but in overall, I didn't meet any problems with connecting to the heroes and following their adventures. So, if there's anyone out there who hasn't read the previous books and wants to start right from this one, go ahead! Lori Foster writes in such a way, that you won't encounter any problems whatsoever!

My favorite part of this book, was the way Foster portrayed her two main heroes and developed them as characters. Both Spencer and Arizona are really great characters (I have a rather soft spot for Arizona I'm afraid!), you could understand they had past, their past really influenced and defined them in the present, but both of them, just try to make the best they can, even through very traumatic experiences.
Arizona is... amazing! I have a soft spot for emotionally traumatized heroes and Arizona is the best character I have ever read, who survived such cruelty. She isn't self pitying and she doesn't expect people to pity her. She just does everything she can in order to save people who share the same fate as hers. She is strong, independent, fearless and so very honest that I couldn't help but love her! Her toughness isn't just an act or a defense mechanism. All her past experiences have really toughened her and defined who she is. A survivor! The way she acts, almost childish in some cases, is plainly adorable. She's so ignorant in matters of relationships but so eager to learn everything, and I just adored her!

Spencer on the other hand is an alpha male. Someone who is scared by his wife's death and I also loved pretty much everything about him as well. The way he protects Arizona, the way he seems to understand her and finally the way he worked around Arizona's defenses and made her overcome some of her fears.
The plot, was heavier on the romance department rather than the action department, and that was the only thing I wasn't thrilled about in A Perfect Storm. Somehow, I expected a little more action, but the action scenes were only a couple and not really extended. But despite my need for more action, the book was really easy to read, and the writing style just flowed.

All in all, Perfect Storm is a really good, Romantic Suspense title, that no fan of the genre should miss reading!

I loved all the books in this series. It is about tough men and women. Women who have been through the worst and come out stronger on the other side and the men who love them. I fell in love with all of the characters in the series. The men are what dreams and fantasies are made of and the women are strong and capable and more than a match for the men that love them.

This book was all right but it was missing the wow factor. The story flowed well and kept my interest but it was by no means a page-turner. The banter between Spencer and Arizona was fun but it felt like it was between a man and inquisitive teenager not a woman!! Spencer is an all around great guy and it made me wonder what could this man really see in this young woman. Their romance didn't feel right it felt forced and that was the something special that was missing from this book. I liked all the other books in this series but this one just didn't hit the mark for me.

This is in my top 5 favorite books by Lori Foster so far. A Perfect Storm. Loved it, I couldn't put it down. Spencer being a bounty hunter has his own reasons to get close to trouble and take down women traffickers, he's rough, tough and a typical alpha male...and oh so sexy!. To Arizona it's all personal, being captured by the sick bastards and used and abused, left a emptiness in her soul that is hard for her to overcome, she was saved by Jackson a mercenary years earlier. Jackson feels the need not only to protect Arizona but try and love her like a brother would. Once Arizona and Spencer connect on more ways then one Arizona lets herself trust and depend on someone other than herself and Jackson. Arizona being vulnerable and a lost soul Spencer can't help but get lost in her, it's more than wanting to protect her. He shows her how to love. Sex scenes as always are hot in Lori's stories and this one was sizzling ! I just connected with these two characters. I highly recommend this book, it's full of twists and turns, action and a HEA.

I loved reading A Perfect Storm. The characters were great with their own distinct personalities. It was awesome to have such a bad a$$ female heroine, as well as, a tough male hero. I feel they balanced each other out.

Arizona Storm is no shrinking violet. True, she was dealt a bad hand in life, but she tries not to let that define her as a victim. She wants no ones pity and she always feels she needs to prove herself to people. Because of her past Arizona has major trust issues even with those people closest to her. She doesn't allow herself to set down roots because she always feels she doesn't fit in and doesn't deserve to be cared for.

Spencer Lark is a Bounty Hunter who is great at what he does. From the moment his path crossed Arizona's he has felt this need to try and "fix" what he feels may be broken with her. Since the death of his wife Spencer hasn't let himself get close to a woman emotionally. He feels he can love no other woman the way he loved his deceased wife. Unbeknownst to him, he starts to fall a$$ over tea kettle in love with Arizona. He has always believed that she was too young for him, but the more time he spends with her the more he doesn't want to let her go and age becomes nothing but a number..

In between this great love story you get a glimpse of the dark and sinister world of human trafficking. Arizona makes it her personal mission to rid the world of those vile people. Spencer wants to help put those guys out of business for good but he doesn't agree with using Arizona as bait to do it. That causes some tension between Arizona and her surrogate family.

I actually had a "damn" moment towards the end of this book. A Perfect Storm had some other really great things happening but I don't want to ruin the story for anyone. The only thing that had me going huh, was that when I started reading this book I had no idea that this was book 4 in a series. When I first started reading this book a few times I kept feeling like I was missing something when it came to the characters camaraderie. It wasn't enough of a factor to change my opinion of this book. On a scale from 1-10 I give A Perfect Storm a 10. It was a great story with strong characters. If you are looking for great kick a$$ characters, scummy lowlifes, undeniably chemistry, and just a great story then A Perfect Storm is the book for you. Everyone adult 18+ needs to run out and pick themselves up a copy. While you are picking up A Perfect Storm, if you don't already have them, you should also pick up When You Dare (book #1), Trace Of Fever (book 2), Savor The Danger (book 3), and The Guy Next Door (which has book 0.5 in it). Let Spencer and Arizona guide you through their Perfect Storm.

My Review:

The driving force behind this novel...Arizona Storm. This chick is tough. This chick is smart. This chick is resourceful. This chick will absolutely and completely break your heart, but OMG, Spencer was so perfect in how he handled her.

Arizona was a victim for human trafficking for months before they then tried to kill her. This happened to her as a teenager and she has been chasing human traffickers ever since, putting herself out there as bait. She's only 21 years old, but has been through so much during her very short life. She's incredibly scarred mentally and hides it behind this tough, bristly facade. She doesn't know how to be affectionate or accept affection from a man or any of her friends. It is absolutely heartbreaking, especially since she just accepts that's the way she will be for the rest of her life. Spencer plans otherwise.

Spencer is incredible. OMG! Arizona is so wounded and scarred and he knows that he can help her overcome her fears. The fact that she's incredibly sexy is no hardship either. I just loved how he handled her. At 6'5" tall, he has got to be an incredibly intimidating guy, but he always handles Arizona with such care and cherish. It made me mushy just reading the incredible scenes between the two of them. There is a 12 year age difference between the two of them that I thought I would have problems with as a reader, but his experience is key to helping her overcome. And the fact is that she's had such horrible life-experiences, she is way older in maturity than her physical age shows. Their story was really beautiful.

With this being the fourth book in this series, I was THRILLED that we got to see everyone from all the other book. Everyone showed up in this story and they weren't just brief appearances either. It was fabulous to see everyone again, especially Chris. I loved his scenes with Arizona and the way that he understood her needs before anyone else really got what she needed from them. Overall, I think that this has been my favorite book in the series so far!

I liked this most recent episode in the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series. This is Arizona's story. Arizona was a victim who was rescued by Jackson after her captors beat her, tied her up, and threw her into a river in the middle of a storm. Jackson now thinks of her as an adopted younger sister. But Arizona is determined to take charge of her life and to take revenge on the traffickers who tried to make her a victim.

She meets Spencer when he steps in and kills the trafficker that Arizona was after. Spencer sees a beautiful young woman that he wants to protect. He also sees a woman that he thinks is too young for him and who needs to be handled carefully because of all she went through. Arizona isn't going to put up with that. She is strong and a survivor and wants to be accepted as an equal by Spencer, Jackson and the other men.

I especially liked Arizona's brash confidence in her abilities and her take-no-prisoners attitude. She isn't going to let her past hold her back from getting what she wants. I did get a little upset by her recklessness and the way she seems to undervalue herself.

Spencer is an epic sort of hero. He is strong, smart, protective and, once he gets over his hang-up about her age, he's the perfect mate for Arizona. He will let her do what she needs to do and will do his best to love and support her. Their's looks like an excellent partnership in the making.

The main focus of this story seemed to me to be the relationship between Spencer and Arizona. The plot to take down traffickers at a bar seemed to really be in the background of this story. This is a great story if you are looking for a relationship story. However, the suspense part of a romantic suspense novel was slighted.

This book was not very good. It wrapped up the series, at least it seems to me that it did, and the only truly great book in this series was the first one, When You Dare. That was a really great book. I am tired of the "I will not cry and not be vulnerable and therefore seen as weak" female lead which seems to be the trend. What's wrong with being the fairer sex and a little vulnerability? The character of Arizona was not very likable and it was hard to read through the book with a very unlikable character. It has gone on my Paperback Swap bookshelf and has already been sent off in the mail for another free book credit, that was really it's only redeeming quality to me.

Perfect Storm by Lori Foster
Book 4 in the series
Arizona had once been kidnapped and sold to human traffickers and then tossed out of a truck going over a bridge. Luckily others were tailing her and rescued
her but now she wants revenge. She was given a new identity and only a few others even knew who she was. She wants to find out more about the path of the people who took her and get them arrested. She had worked with 3 others, Spence,
Jackson, Dare and Trace and they knew about surveillance.
After it goes down they make their way back to Spencer's and she passes out, but the next morning she is awakened with remembering about her ordeal and the near drowning.
She has put some stipulations forth before they make love.
The dealings with the people in the bar is not over yet but she's the only one who knows that they have more information for her.
A real family and they ask her to be a part of it. She's getting relaxed around them and thinking she is safe from the evils she lets her guard down-wrong choice.
Knowing the players now I know I want to read the other books in this series. The story kept my attention and it's a field I know nothing about. I like to learn about new things when I read a book.
Knives really got to me because my son has knives and he also knows how to use them given his military training. I just thought they were knives-I was so misinformed.
This book also has a LOT of hot steamy sex that never seems to end.

This series is right next to The Buckhorn series on my "Keeper" shelf. I love how each are different but all are amazingly loyal to their friends, family, and women. Love this series & wish there could be more. Good thing Lori has more amazing stories to read, and re-read again, and again, and again!

Spenser Lark and Arizona Storm met a month ago when both were on a separate avenging sting operation. They were attracted to each other immediately and still are, but she has relationship trust issues from a traumatic experience.

On her birthday she sneaks into his bedroom watching him sleep. When he wakes they fight again, but soon afterward she announces she plans to destroy a human trafficking ring having first-hand experience with these predators. Knowing Arizona would go it alone, Spencer agrees for her to act as a lure while he and his comrades protect her back as they deploy their sting.

The latest Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor (see When You Dare and Trace of Fever) is an engaging entry starring a strong caring hero and a traumatized woman slowly healing but also obsessed with a need to take the attack to these abusive beasts. The storyline is filled with action, but it is Arizona who still has an uncontrollable storm raging inside her brain who makes the plot work as there is no instant magic elixir to invoke emotional healing.

I like Lori Foster's books and I even liked the first three books to this series, but for some reason, A Perfect Storm rubed me the wrong way. I'll admit the story was good but I couldn't get past the characters relationships. They seemed different in this book compared with the first three stories. They all were hell bent on changing Arizona and it was obvious she didn't want to be changed and they wouldn't leave her alone about it. The "love" aspect of the story was a joke. The whole time, Spencer used himself as a sacrifice to "help" Arizona with her hangups. Love shouldn't be a sacrifice, its a gift. I was so disappointed with the book, I couldn't finish it. I have no intentions of reading anymore of this series.

Steamy! Spencer and Arizona are smokin' in Lori Foster's latest, A Perfect Storm. I just loved the characters in this novel, they were well developed. I wish there had been more action in the story, it lacked that extra little something that would have taken it to the next level. I look forward to reading more from Lori Foster.

Love Spencer, Love Arizona...in the last book. Their chemistry in the book before this one was fantastic- in "APS" not enough teasing and too many lessons to be learned and reasons to not get together, but really who's really thinking about all that if you're hot for each other. Okay, yeah, Arizona is young and Spencer is trying to do the right things but it would have been much better if Spencer chased and Arizona, tough girl that she is with lots of baggage, fights tooth and nail only to give in in the end. Which sort of happens but without the sparks here. And waaay too much of the neighbor woman which I understand was necessary to show Arizona's other good traits to Spencer but there could have been a better way for him to discover these. She was annoying and I would have kicked her a** if I was Arizona! Not in the real world but hey this is a book and at least that would have made for five or ten pages of real fun! I'm going to read it again because I really liked Spencer and hope the next time through he feels more like he's taking what he wants versus waiting for what he wants. And I agree with others- I loved Chris!

I started with this book. But you need to start with the first book of the series. This book was very good. It's about two people who have emotional scares and have to work through them to find each other.

Overall I enjoyed the book, but I felt I was missing some of the pieces of the story as I had not read any of the previous books in this series. Still, A Perfect Storm is fast-paced, action-packed, and steamy. The heat between Arizona and Spencer was palpable and the plot was intriguing. I'll have to check out the other books in this series!

Nothing is great then a woman coming on top. Arizona getting her justification at the end was excellent! And knowing that there was a man that was able to help and accept her as a survivor not the victim anymore. 5 stars Mrs. Lori! 5 stars!

I first became aware of this series when I read the story "Ready, Set, Jett" in the anthology The Guy Next Door: Ready, Set, Jett\Gail's Gone Wild\Just One Taste (Hqn)--I wasn't impressed. (Rated it 2 Stars.) I had no intention of reading anything more. Then when the first book was released, I kept seeing positive reviews popping up in the blogosphere and that the book is a top seller on the store. My curiosity piqued, I opened up When You Dare (Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor), which turned out to be nothing like the prequel, which was a good thing. Now that all three men from the original trio have been coupled up, Ms. Foster had to introduce another Alpha for this story: Spencer Lark whom we met in Savor the Danger (Hqn).

Arizona Storm has survived a lot: neglectful mother, father who sold her into prostitution with slavers, attempts on her life, etc. Mercenary Jackson Savor is trying to keep her out of trouble and out of the hornet's nest by having her do office type work for them that is all purely research. Arizaona doesn't like research--she wants to be out there stopping the bad guys. When she comes across a credible lead, she takes the initiative to do some reconnaissance and drags Spencer Lark into it not wanting Jackson and the other men to tell her no. Spencer has had his own reasons for going after slavers and has lived his life free of entanglements. Soon, Arizona and Spencer are in full mission mode with the other men as back-up.

A PERFECT STORM is the fourth book in Lori Foster's Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor Series, but it can easily be read as a stand-alone book. Although there were lots of exciting parts, this story and romance felt recycled--if you've read any other the others in this series than there isn't really anything new here. The only difference was that Arizona was actually capable and very good at what she does. Just about everything in this story feels like I've read it before. There just wasn't any enjoyment in it for me.

I think my biggest hang-up with this story is that I'm not a big fan of white slavery rings and rape victims. Even though Arizona never came off as a victim (and I loved her for it), she does have a lot to overcome and she grows a lot. I just don't especially like reading about abused women. This is completely personal.

Ahhh... Arizona's story broke my heart! I felt so sad for what she went through, but was happy to see she came out on top! She was brave and kick ass and I have to say, I love a book where the leading female is kick ass! Spencer was hot and I'm glad he was brought into the dynamic trio :) I'm sad the book is done! I kinda hope there are more to this series, but I don't think there will be...

Lori Foster is by far one of my absolute favorite authors, and after reading this I am certain you will feel the same. Arizona and Spencer are wickedly hot together, and whether they are hunting down the bad guys, verbally sparring, or tangling in the sheets, you are going to love every minute. The snappy dialogue between Spencer and Arizona is right on point, and often brutally honest. Nothing about these two will ever be boring, and I would love to see them together again.

I usually love Lori Foster and have read all the previous books in this series and thought they were great. I didn't even finish this one. It just did not hold my interest and I did not get any chemistry between the two main characters.

Although I haven't read the others in this series, this book hooked me from the first page. The heroine--a survivor of human trafficking--is feisty and vulnerable and the hero is a perfect match for her.
