The girl in this book made me want to weep for females everywhere. Without going into too much detail, in the beginning she was strong willed which was good, then by the end I wondered who was this idiot girl. The guy I had absolutely no respect for. Good read If you like you're "heroines" docile and submissive.

I couldn't go on. The writing was too dull for me. The heroine was placid, rarely showing the sort of temperament that was supposed to have made the hero attracted to her in the first place. The hero seemed to constantly wanting to teach the heroine a lesson.

The 'big' secret? I have no idea if it was regarding the hero's birth or something to do with his brother. I didn't get far enough to find out.

The hero makes major life decisions that make no sense whatsoever. The heroine is always referring to fairy tales when talking to adults. People just don't do that!!! I finished the book, but was sorry that I wasted my time on it.

I hate to trash a book, especially one that has a nice twist in the plot, but this book is screaming for a decent editor. You know it's going to be bad when you have to go back a chapter, at the very beginning of a book, to figure out who the author is talking about and the idea they are attempting to convey. Unfortunately, it only gets worse the further you get into the story. This happened over and over again to the point where I found myself skimming paragraphs. The chapter where the "big secret" is revealed was especially confusing. At that point, I just gave up, unable to force myself to finish the book.

The lead characters, Miranda and Simon, are equally frustrating. Miranda comes off as Pollyanna-ish with her equating every situation to a fairy tale and for never losing her temper with her husband's ridiculous behavior. In her situation, I would expect a normal woman to either become hysterical or scream her lungs out instead of becoming a door mat. Simon, with all his grand illusions of honor, is totally lacking in integrity. One minute he is saying that he will never marry and the next he declares that Miranda must marry him. He knows he is going to abandon her in six months, but he marries her and then refuses to consummate the marriage. What kind of honor is that? After discovering the "truth" about his family, he acts like a spoiled child, once more rejecting his wife, but within a short period of time, and for no apparent reason, everything is wonderful again. One can only conclude that Simon is bipolar based on his actions.

As I said before, this book seemed promising but the lack of editing really killed it for me.

This is a story that grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let go till the end. It has a wonderfully blend of characters from innocent maidens to villains and heroes and I personally favors that time period. Simply awesome

I read some negative reviews but since it was free I decided to try it. It was one of the first things I got on my new kindle. I enjoyed it. I have been reading romance novels for 25 years, and I am picky. I found myself liking the characters, and while I could see ways to improve it, I also could enjoy it as it is. It seemed to be written well, right wording and setting. The author did some research, and seemed to know who her characters were. Its light reading, enjoy it.

It's definitely weird how they fell in love. And Miranda can be really annoying when it comes to her not listening to what her husband says...it's just annoying sometimes. However I liked the book. The scandal was shocking. Okay book. Won't read the rest of the series though.

Great love story. You truly feel and understand how Simon and Miranda feel throughout the story. If you are a grammar freak, this book isn't for you. I found quite a few errors or misplaced words, but overall very heartfelt writing.

I am not much for romance novels, but I thought that I would try this out at the recommendation of a friend. I'm so glad that I did! I have now been turned on to a new genre. It was a great book to read at the beach and beside the pool. Can't wait to read more of what this author has to offer!

Good but not what I expected. It looked clean from the front cover, but it had some detailed sexual scenes I didn't expect. Also, I did not understand the duke 's issue with his title at all. It was kind of a dumb reason to go to the lengths he did in the book. He was unnecessarily whiny about it all. Still I enjoyed the book, and loved the female characters especially.

This is a romance story with a strong female who doesn't do anything. A weak man who lets morals outshine love and it provides the bland story line. Even a bad guy who doesn't cause the regular strife that comes with romantic stories. I always wanted it to get better as the story had the opportunity for it to but unfortunately it didn't.
