i like lynsay sands books very much. she has a great sense of humor. I enjoyed this book as well but I did not laugh out loud, like I have reading her other books. While there where some amusing actions, I felt there was something missing. don't keep this review from trying her books because she is definately a gifted writer. Her books are on my keeper shelf. I guess what I am saying is that some of her other books showcase her talent better.

I liked this story probably not only because of the MC's but also because it had a good storyline and it was more of the Argeneau family. Lucian was handsome but shutoff when it came to dealing with the dynamics with family and appeared unfeeling and cold with others. He just didn't bother to be nice, in the manners department. He had a job to do and he did it, cooling and efficiently. After all it was his job to protect the family. And as a part of the Council, it was part of his job to protect the other Immortals (vampires) as well. I liked the explanation of the nanos (science) being the reason for vampires being what they were. It was an interesting idea and continued in this story as well. I liked that it didn't go as deep into that part as in other books but you were still able to read it as a stand alone book. I think it also went well with Lucian's personality at the time. He didn't want to say much, he didn't want to waste his time and he really didn't want to have to explain anything. And Lucian wasn't kind to Leigh in the beginning when it came to answering her questions. In fact, he was often uncaring and unaware of some of the finer points of dealing with her, what she needed. She was just a nuisance that got dumped on him and he had to get back on the hunt for the person who turned her Morgan, now that was one cruel dude. Leah's turning was really rough and Lucian wasn't much help in the beginning. Leah was a survivor who would survive this just as she had the abusive ex husband who tried to control everything in her life. When things didn't go well for him or Leah resisted, he used his fists on her. Leah was just so likabe that she even began to wear Lucian down even when he began to be horrifed that they might be life mates. Leah isn't all that excited either. Not because she didn't like Lucian but because he represented the loss of her independence that she fought so hard for. In fact, it scared her how attracted she became to Lucin and she wasn't sure she could take a chance on another man after last wrong choice.
Morgan ended up being harder to catch than anyone every thought he would be. Evil, yes. But also slippery and clever, with the help of other unfortunate people that he turned and controlled. So that added twsts and turns to keep you interested.
Marguerite's dog, Julius added humor to the story and that wasn't the only time that things got funny.

This book did not follow the typical Argeneau book formula. This one throws you right into the vampire world without the typical build-up. With the transition decision made in the first chapter of the book, the only thing left to deal with is Lucian being a jerk.

Leigh was attacked on the way home and turned into a vampire. Lucian winds up hunting down the rogue vampires that did it, but spares her life because she hasn't been turned into one of them yet. While complaining every step of the way, Lucian winds up taking care of Leigh. She gets a gold star for her amazing acceptance of her new world. This is balanced out somewhat by her absolute rejection of getting into a relationship, no matter what people say about her status as Lucian's mate.

These two are awesomely matched, but we have to wait a LONG time in this book to get rewarded by some smutty goodness. This makes me sound like a horrible person, but I wish the romance was spread out throughout the book, rather than in a rush at the end. I found myself constantly checking the % remaining, concerned that there was not enough time to resolve both the rogue issue and the romance. There was still resolution, but it felt just as rushed as the romance. I was still happy that these opposites found a way to kick butt and end up together, but it was a close thing.

Bite Me If You Can by Lynsay Sands is the 6th amazing book in this exciting series. I love meeting the former characters as well as the new ones. I cannot get enough of these characters. Their dilemmas feel very real. It felt like I knew them forever. There is a lot of action, risks, danger, and hot sex. I love these vampires and their life mates. Plus, there's the huge family life that makes reading this even sweeter. Overall, I recommend this vampire romance to all readers.

I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

When you get to be thousands of years old who needs niceties and manners?

Lucian is one of the oldest immortals. He lost his life mate and children in the fall of Atlantis. Everyone may see him as a cold bastard, but he does what's necessary to protect his kind and family. While hunting a rogue he left having to babysit a newly turned vampire, not exactly what Lucian would call a successful hunt.

Leigh was just walking home from work when her life was turned upside down. Now she's forced to change how she lives her life and stuck with a man who seems to be annoyed with her presence and the fact he has to babysit her.

I love Lucian and Leigh's story.
Both of their worlds have been turned upside down, but with each other they will find they can live a content and happy existence forever.

I love how large the Argeneau family is and although we didn't hear much about Uncle Lucian in the first few books he was regularly mentioned in book 5. Lucian is over two thousand years old and was there when Atlantis fell. Having suffered the loss of his life mate and children he has spent his very long life hunting down rogue vampires and serving on the council. He is sent to deal with a rogue when he stumbles upon Leigh in the beginning of her turning. Faced with the choice to end her or giver her a second chance Lucian takes her to Canada to see her through the transition. Little did he expect to find himself drawn to a women for the first time in millennia. Full of family drama and enemies who just won't die Bite Me if You Can is another great addition to the Argeneau series.

Okay - I must say, I'm not really sure why I keep reading these books. Quite frankly, they are somewhat redundant in that it is just the same story retold in front of a new backdrop with different players. After reading the first 5 books, I had decided to give up on them, but having nothing else to read other than my Auditing: A Business Risk Approach (with ACL CD-ROM) text until my Faith Hunter book arrived, I thought I'd go ahead and read Book 6 (I have all of them, inherited from my sister). One thing that I do find enjoyable about Lynsay Sands is that she has an enjoyable style of writing. She is easy to read and engaging. The novelty behind the cause of vampirism in these novels is refreshing as well.

What I enjoyed with this book was that it stepped away from the standard mold (slightly). Rather than having a mortal woman meet the hunky Argeneau vampire, and fall head over heels in love, and have to be shown the benefits of a life mate and in turn, vampirism; in this novel - our heroine is a bit more independent. She is turned before even meeting the crusty Lucian, and while there are still many parallels to the other Argeneau novels, there are enough forays from the familiar path to make this novel refreshing and enjoyable.

And so, while Mercy Blade (Jane Yellowrock, Book 3) sits beckoning me - I find myself wondering if I should put aside the Argeneau Vampires for something with a little more kick, or if maybe just one more book....

My thoughts:

Another good and light Argeneau vampire novel. I truly like that about this series. And once again, this one can easily be read as a standalone novel. I have only read 3 out of 6, but it works. In this one a woman, Leigh is out walking and gets attacked. Luckily for her Lucian comes to the rescue as he is hunting down her attacker. Since she is bitten he explains things to her *coughs*, ok he tries, he calls in help, and he is pretty bad at the whole thing. That is what I liked most about him, for someone among the oldest in the world (talking BC here), he is pretty bad at certain things. He is the grumpy grandpa that has given up on sex and food, since why bother at all. What can I say, I liked him, especially in one scene where he buys books about how to talk to woman. Leigh then, well she comes to term with the whole vampire/nano thing pretty fast. But she has been hurt by a man in the past so she is not that keen on falling in love, or lust with anyone.

These books are light, there is some humour, and there is some passion. I just sat down and read it fast, and I do like books like that. You can just relax, sit back and read a cute story about a couple falling in love. Though as always there is some danger in them too, here it's the guy that bit her and he will be back at the end.

What next, well I would really like to see Marguerite's book. That would be fun (nr 9 it seems ;)

Conclusion:

The whole vampire thing is still interesting, I do like the story of Atlantis and how "vampires" were created. The lightness and humour in the books make them fun reads. Cute and fast.

Rating:

They are enjoyable

I was so happy I finally got my hands on Lucian's story. Lucian seems very cold and detatched. He's just going through the motions and is bored with life. He lost his wife and kids in the fall of Atlantis. He is viewed by his family as somewhat cold hearted, calculated and doesn't take risks. He is part of the council and one of the oldest immortals. Everything he does is calculated and thought through. On a trip to take down a rouge who has built a nest, he meets Leigh who was bitten by the rogue and starting to turn. He didn't want to help Leigh through the turn and tried to pass her off to his family who were all busy and unreachable. He finds himself fighting his attraction for her and in the process his very predictible life get's turned upside down. Leigh struggles to overcome a past with an abusive ex husband and doesn't give out trust easily. The sparks between these two are amazing and I loved watching them find their way to eachother. Once Lucian accepted Leigh was his lifemate we were able to see him pull some of his walls down. Leigh wasn't accepting at first and was a little weary. She knows she's attracted to Lucian but mostly lacks trust in herself. There were a few scenes in here that were pretty funny and I loved seing Lucian humilate himself, it was such a 180 from the past books he appeared in. The scene at the end with the cell phone in his pocket really brought a laugh out of me. Once again Bricker brings life to the story and I love it when he appears in these stories, he always brings out a smile and I know he is pretty young, but I'd love for him to have a book someday.

Leigh Gerard has created a nice life for herself after escaping her abusive husband, but she swears she'll never fall into the power of a man again. Just because she's attacked by a vampire and transformed doesn't mean she's ready to let some male, even a vampire male, take control of her life. But until she learns about the limitations of her new life, she's stuck with Lucian Argeneau, the vampire who saved her from the master vampire who turned her.

Lucian Argeneau became a vampire, immortal as he prefers it, back in Atlantis when he was infected with the nanobes that keep him healthy, attack anything that harms him, but that also create a need for blood to feed them. As one of the oldest surviving immortals, Lucian is responsible for enforcing the rules that keep immortals from exploiting the rest of humanity. And rogues, like the ones who turned Leigh, must be destroyed. What he isn't interested in is babysitting a new immortal. But when he's stuck with Leigh, and when he realizes she just might be his lifemate, all the rules change.

Author Lynsay Sands creates an interesting approach to the origins of vampires, explaining vampire capabilities and limitations by her nanobe theory. Her smooth writing and sense of humor make BITE ME IF YOU CAN a page-turning pleasure. The relationship between Leigh and Lucian is sexy and fun--especially the mental sex in the shower. Watching Lucian develop into a human person from a cold jerk is satisfying as well.

BITE ME IF YOU CAN does have some editing issues. Leigh comes from Kansas City, Kansas, but the city Sands describes sounds a lot more like Kansas city, Missouri (Sands is a Canadian so perhaps this mistake can be blamed on American editors who should have known better). Some word misuse also pulls the reader out of the story. Likewise, I think we need more explanation of why Leigh is special not just to Lucian (although the coincidence of running into his lifemate by chance could also be explained) but why she has the powers she has against other vampires. Morgan's almost suicidal fascination with Leigh could also be explained more fully. BITE ME's flaws didn't keep me from enjoying this intriguing re-telling of the vampire romance.

It's been a while since I picked up one of Sand's Argeneau family books. Once I opened the pages and devoured the first chapter I realized what a mistake I made by letting them go so long. With all the heavy hitting, punch-in-the-gut vamp romances available, this series is a blessed refuge when I need a little pick-me-up and a good dose of laughter. Much as I love the harder, more eerie vamp romances, I know I'll always come back to this series because of its humor and great characters.

Leigh has finally built a decent life for herself. She's a businesswoman, independent and she's finally starting to feel a bit safe. After getting over a recent bad marriage, a girl's got a right to such things, so when a vampire comes along and turns her pleasant world inside out--again--she's not going down without a fight. Too bad the wrong place at the wrong time ends her up in the sights of Lucian Argeneau. Notorious hunter of evil vampires, he's not inclined to give Leigh the benefit of the doubt. He's lived for two thousand years and seen and done too much to have any sympathy. Much as he wants to wash his hands of the troublesome woman though, he's hard pressed to see her dead. A mutual enemy still wants her though and suddenly Lucian becomes the protector when all he's known is killing. Can he remain aloof enough to finish what he started, the killing of a devious master vampire, or will their emerging relationship impede his quest? For the first time, Lucian's got a tad more on his hands then he knows what to do with and it's all woman!

What a great installment to reintroduce myself to the series with! I'll be up front and say that I did not like Lucian one bit for the first few chapters. He's so hardened after thousands of years of killing and I was amazed that this was to be the hero of the book, a comedy at that. But Leigh now, neither he nor I really saw her coming. What an effect she had on him! It's not an easy transition from centuries old killer to vamp-in-love, but to watch Lucian take that journey was very exciting. Everything from their desperate attempts to foil Morgan, to Lucian's small team of vamp exterminators ties so well together. Here's seriously hoping that his two cohorts, Mortimer and Bricker get their own stories one day or at least more cameos--they're very interesting! As usual, Sand's splices up the story with plenty of wit and laughter, but reserves plenty of sweet, suspenseful and doubtful moments for us to keep turning the pages. Sands writes yet another vamp comedy with enormous style that can only be admired and envied. Five very big stars and more!

This is another book in Lynsay Sands' Argeneau Vampires series although it's not necessary to have read the others to understand this one. The family tree at the beginning of this book gives you a clue that there are a lot of people involved in the plot and indeed there are but it doesn't get confusing as the characters from former books generally have walk-on parts rather than being central to the plot.

Leigh Gerard is minding her own business walking home late at night when she's attacked by a vampire and taken away by him to his lair. She manages to escape one of her guards and is on her way out of the house where she's been stashed when she finds that a group of three different men are attacking the house. She's rescued as most of the other vampires are destroyed but it soon becomes apparent that she's been made into a vampire and is 'turning', a very painful and noisy experience.

Lucien Argeneau is a bossy, grumpy and arrogant vampire who doesn't really care for anyone since his wife and children died hundreds of years ago. He finds himself having to take care of Leigh, much against his will, whilst she turns. Initially his care for her is fairly perfunctory but soon he finds he's getting more involved and then when she wakes up properly and has lots of questions he's the only person around to help her with the answers. Leigh opens out the world to him a little more, introducing him to the delights of eating real food and of underwear shopping. It becomes clear fairly early on that she is his 'life mate' so there's not much "will they/won't they" tension in the story, more "when will they". There's a subplot of the rogue vampire who turned Leigh chasing her but that's a minor part of the story and it's half-heartedly tacked onto the end to give the book a bit more of a rousing ending.

This book had a lot of similarities with Love Bites, another of the Argeneau Vampire series that I've read, in that most of the book revolves around the new vampire learning to live with her status and getting to know the hero. There's little tension in the love story, it's always clear they'll end up together, even the characters themselves know it; there are a few cheap jokes at Lucian's expense (he's had a rather long period of celibacy) and Leigh has a few more sparky moments when her self-defence training comes into play but overall this is a rather unmemorable book with a little characterisation, a little plot and a lot of filler.

When a bite is not quite right, and then you stir in a handsome vampire hunter that fights in the shadows of the night, you will open up a different vein called BITE ME IF YOU CAN!

Leigh, the owner of a quaint bar/eatery Coco's, is walking home just before dawn when she is bitten, then taken to a strange house, only to be found by a too-handsome-for-his-own-good vampire hunter. His job will be to acquaint Leigh to the new life that will be one of nighttime and blood. Yet, things get dangerously tangled and a spark of sexual attraction between Leigh and her vampire hunter will set this relationship on a completely different course.

BITE ME IF YOU CAN is by author Lynsay Sands. What an absolutely delightful paranormal Ms. Sands has crafted. It is sexy, original and, quite frankly, too good to put down. In a voice colored with snappy words, great dialogues and convincing characters, this reviewer fell in love within the first chapter. Ms. Sands weaves a very compelling tale of unusual romance that will have you laughing and smiling, long after the close of the book.

How the heck was Leigh to know that one stupid little nip on the neck would turn her life from day to night--literally? But out of this bite, she is put into the world of Lucian Argeneau, a vampire hunter, who has lost the ability to, for a better word, be congenial. The man has the tack of a dirty spoon and must learn once again the meaning of finding love and trust, and, oh yeah, communication. Both Leigh and Lucian will not only discover an unbelievable case of lust that exists between them, but something much, much deeper. Open the book and discover it with them.

This is the type of paranormal romance that will take you on a emotional journey, while displaying superior character development that will leave you wanting more of Ms. Sands' witting wordings. This reviewer cannot wait to sink her teeth into the next book this outstanding author pens.

I am a fan of Lynsay Sands and an even bigger fan of her Argeneau series! This book in particular had me laughing out loud. Lucian is such a tough guy but to see his character being completely lost with how to perform simple everyday tasks was endearing. There is not a lot of action to this story as it is most focused on the relationship between Lucian and Leigh. As far as a PNR goes this is a very sweet, romantic, and funny story. I highly recommend.

I am a big fan of Lynsay Sands and the Argeneau Vampire series and even I was blown away by how good this book is. I loved it. I really enjoyed getting to know Lucian. At times Lucian seems hard and cold but before now we have only seen glimpses of his softer side. It was wonderful to see Leigh come along and get up under his hard shell. I was glad that he didn't end up with some weak woman, Leigh is tough and stands up for herself when necessary. The sex scenes in this book HOT!!! Amazing characters, a good story and steamy sex aren't all this book has to offer- I also laughed out loud many times while reading it (which is not a normal occurrence for me.) This book is great, in fact, my only complaint is that I can't read it again for the first time. I envy those who have only just found it. :)

I wanted to read Lucian's book the moment I met him in the first Argeneau book. I wanted to see which women would be able to defrost this grumpy, distant thousands years old immortal.

Even under the grumpy exterior I could see that Lucian was a good man. He was lonely and needed someone to make him see that life could be wonderful.
Leigh was exactly what he needed... strong, independent, full of life... but also lonely cause she didn't let anyone close enough to hurt her again.

I just loved Julius, Marguerite's Neapolitan Mastiff dog! Lynsay Sands obviously owns one or knows someone who owns one cause she portrayed as this breed perfectly, gentle, clumsy giants who leave a trail of drool everywhere they go LOL and are protective of their family.

Bite Me If You Can had the usual Sands' humor incorporated in the story and the yummy sex scenes. It was another excellent book in this lovely series.

I seriously couldn't buy this authors books because of the corny covers. Lets face it, I want to be taken seriously by randomly anonymous cashiers for the 15 seconds I don't make eye contact and give undo focus on the ATM card reader. Thank GOD! for the self check out stations at Wal-mart.

ANYWHO...I love this book, I couldn't stand to be interrupted. I hate the take on vampire lore but who cares...it was funny, smart, the herione wasn't too stupid to live and the hero had to work for her. It had just the right amount of sensuality and a great writing style that made me want to snatch up everything she has ever written. I LOVED IT!!! Take that Christine Feehan!

Why not 5 stars??? Well guys are not brunettes nor are they brunet (a spelling error). Also it wasn't "men's knees" that the heroine needed to learn about but "men's needs". Also "accept" and "except" not interchangeable. AND IV's are not made of metal, and have you ever tried to break off a needle, nothing but two pliers and a lot of back and forth bending will do it. These are just the mistakes that come to mind and I am sure there were others. She needed one more proofread before shipping the product to us. Not to say that other books by many other authors didn't the same problems (including this review) but these were just glaringly obvious.

Imagine walking home minding your own business when wham out of nowhere somebody jumps out and lays fangs into your flesh? That's what happens to Leigh on her walk home from work one early morning. The action takes off then as a struggle begins and she is whisked off to a rogue vampire's lair!

Along comes Lucian, rogue vampire hunter, who begrudginly gets stuck in the position of nursing Leigh thru becoming a vampire and keeping her safe from the vamp who turned her. Lucian is surprised he cant read this ladies thoughts which usually means you've met your mate only he isn't looking for a mate. In fact it's been so long since he has even kissed a woman, maybe centuries, that he has to purchase dating manuels trying to figure it all out again.

I read this out of order because I just grabbed it up without checking but I was able to follow along quite well and found it to be a funny read at times and I loved watching the relationship build between Leigh and Lucian even though they both fought it tooth and nail.

This was my first Lynsay Sands book and now I am ready to read the rest of the Argeneau books.

I think this is my favourite Argeneau since Single White Vampire. I read this some time back, and I thought it really was one of Lynsay Sand's strongest efforts to date.

Leigh Gerard is going home from work late one night, when she is approached by a co-worker Danny. He is acting rather weird, but before she can decide to get far away, she ends up at a house with a rogue Vampire named Morgan. Morgan has started the process to turn Leigh. He has been turning people left and right to create his own vampire clan. Only the enforcer of the Argeneaus, Lucian, is on Morgan's trail and determined to put a stop to his nonsense. He comes in with his crew to wipe out the vampire nest, but discovers Leigh is not really a vampire...quiet yet. Instead of destroying her with the others, he takes her home and protects her. Neither Leigh nor Lucian (even more grumpy than Lucern is!!) are happy with the romance, especially since Leigh is learning she is a vampire in the makings, too.

A little darker than most of Lynsay's books, but I like that she steps outside of the box and delivers a book that is special unto itself. It's charming, witty, and an utter delight. Many series start to lag after the first three, then you see the writer struggling to keep making the series fresh. It's not an easy chore, because you have to remember that a reader new to the series will need explanations, while those already hooked don't want to hear a lot of repetition. It's walking a tight rope between the two that can kill a series. Sands proves she is a master and does each one in STYLE that promises to keep this series going and going....sure makes me happy!

The 6th book on the Argeneau family saga is about the most cantankerous, grumpy and oldest members of the family - Julian Argeneau. He has lived centuries, well 3500 years to be precise - and is one of the original survivors of Atlantis before it fell. He lost his wife then and children and has lived alone - his only purpose in existence is protecting the Argeneau clan and ensuring their safety.

His latest mission revolves around eradicating "rogue" immortals (vampires) that have turned against the human race. That leaves Lucian with a rep of an unfeeling and rude SOB. After being having lived so long - he has seen everything, been though everything and experienced everything. He hasn't gotten lucky in almost 1800 years! And he is not about to - that would only distract him from his goal - terminate rogue vamps and being vigilante for his family!

Leigh Gerard is walking home from her restaurant late in the evening, when she is approached by a fellow co-worker Donald (Donny). He lures her into the clutches of a vicious rogue vampire - Morgan, who has been turning mortals to start his own sect of followers. Morgan bites Leigh, gives her his blood and takes her to his lair until she has turned.

Lucian and two of his men have scoped and staked out Morgan's nest. As they rush in to "clean out the nest", they kill most of the vampires in residence and burn the house, rescuing Leigh in the process. Unfortunately, Morgan and Donny have managed to slip away.

When Leigh is literally "dumped" on Lucien's lap - he has no choice but to take her his sister-in-laws house to Toronto and in turn dump her with Marguerite. Only one problem, Marguerite is on her way to Europe and can't stay to care for a "baby-vamp" while she is turning. Lucian has guarded his rep throughout the centuries. He is known as the most ancient, ruthless and kick butt immortal in the Argeneau clan and he is not going to let his rep slip by caring for a baby vamp!!!

Stuck with Leigh through her turning - he remains in Marguerite's house. After a few hilarious incidents where he is forced to do "menial" labor, he realizes that he can't read Leigh's thoughts and it is an indication that she is his life mate. After being alone for so many centuries - it is at first hard to believe that she has come along.

After Leigh realizes "she's not in Kansas anymore", she finally accepts that she has been turned into an immortal. She is constantly badgering Lucian with questions about their race - which of coursed annoys him to no end.

Leigh is delightful - with a great heart and wonderful sense of humor, she slowly begins to thaw and chip away at Lucian's frozen and insensitive heart and breaks through his defenses - in the most endearing way! Oh, did I mention that she can kick butt just like Lucian - after an abusive husband there's no way in hell she is going to be dominated and mistreated by anyone - EVER!

In the style of Sands previous novels - the content is beautifully developed and you'll find yourself swallowing this book at an expediential rate!! Complete with witty humor, sexy scenes, fantastic plot, great characters and sub-characters and a great family besides - this one is not to be missed! Julian - you can bite my neck any time!!!

I have to agree with a previous reviewer - the reason I had not picked up this series was due to the corny book titles with the silly cartoon-ish images on the covers. I sheepishly agree that I have "done missed out" on a great series which now I have to feverishly catch up on and am now reading out of sequence! HEY - don't judge a book by its cover - for sure!

Since I made the mistake of not reading these in order here is the way you might want to engage them:

1. A Quick Bite- Lissianna & Greg
2. Love Bites - Eteinne & Rachel
3. Single White Vampire - Lucerne & Kate
4. Tall, Dark & Hungry- Bastien & Terri
5. A Bite to Remember- Vincent & Jackie
6. Bite me if you Can - Lucien & Leigh
7. The Accidental Vampire - Victor & Elvi
8. Vampires are Forever - Thomas & Inez
9. Vampire Interrupted - Marguerite & Julius

I just loved Lucian trying to figure out the mate business. It had only been a few centuries since he romances someone. Leigh was kidnapped and turned on her way home from work and then rescued by Lucian. They have some big age differences that just make everything hilarious. And him being looked at as adorable by his nieces and nephews just runs his bad ass image. This was such a GREAT Argeneau book.

Walking home from work in the wee hours of the morning, Leigh is attacked and kidnapped by a rogue vampire. Luckily, hunters targeting the rogue arrive to free Leigh but not before the rogue turns her into a vampire.

Going through the turn isn't easy and someone needs to care for Leigh during this painful time. Lucian Argeneau doesn't exactly want the job but fate seems have other ideas. A hunter that's been around for over two thousand years, Lucian has found little to excite him. Until Leigh. Now Lucian is eating food, drinking coffee and dreaming about sex with Leigh.

Unfortunately the rogue that attacked Leigh is still at large and coming for her!

I knew I would love this book from the glimpses into Lucian's character in some of the others. I was worried about Leigh being a typical plucky heroine, but she's more than that and the two of them together are hilarious! The only tiny criticism is the bad guy is a tiny bit disappointing. Not quite evil enough, but still, it's a great read.

Since I started reading this series this is by far my favorite.

Since book 1 I had hoped there would be a book for Lucian. My gosh truly the perfect match for me

Leigh is a strong independent woman that was turned before she even knew what was going on by a rogue vampire.

Lucian was sent to terminate the rogue but found Leigh in mid turning trying to escape so he did what any honorable man would do and spared her and took her under his wing... with much protest on his part.

But to his surprised he cannot read Leigh so with encouragement from his family he works on winning her over.

The only thing I did not like was all the butting in from Lucian family But it was nice to bring back some old charaters.

Leigh Gerard had never believed in vampires until the night rogue vampire, Morgan, and her friend and newly turned vampire, Donny, abducted her. Morgan starts the process of turning Leigh when immortal vampire Lucian Argeneau intervenes. Now, Leigh finds herself adjusting to the world of the immortals with the grumpy Lucian while Morgan is hot on their trail. And what's this whole bit about Lucian being her life mate, anyway?

Lynsay Sands has a definite gift at incorporating humor into her stories, regardless of the genre. BITE ME IF YOU CAN is no exception, as the witty repartee between Lucian and Leigh is simply hysterical. Lucian presents as a very reserved character and it is extraordinarily funny to see the unpretentious Leigh ruffle his feathers. Lucian is used to having a solution for everything (one that usually involves having others handle the sensitive details with people) and Leigh leaves him positively mystified. The antics of the dog, Julius, only add to the laugh out loud moments offered in BITE ME IF YOU CAN.

BITE ME IF YOU CAN is a delightfully charming story that is sure to produce a chuckle out of even a grump such as Lucian! Lynsay Sands showcases her phenomenal grasp of the human psyche with this one, as even Lucian demonstrates a bit of insecurity when he recognizes his feelings for Leigh. BITE ME IF YOU CAN is highly recommended, particularly for the kind of day when you just need a good laugh to perk you up. Thank you, once again, Ms. Sands, for such an incredible tale!

I actually bought this book several years ago, and only recently found it at the back of a bookshelf at home. When I initially bought it, I had no idea it was a part of a series, and read it as a stand-alone book. It was excellent.

Yes, I was clearly missing some of the background for Lucian's family, but that hardly mattered. It was so easy to get into it. Leigh was a likeable female lead character, though Lucian stole me as my favourite character. His inability to modernize at the speed of everyone else was hilarious, and I found myself smiling through the majority of his awkward scenes. I loved how much humour was put into this novel - it's not the sarcastic "tough as nails so I'll be a bitch" humour that I've read in other paranormal romances, but rather an awkward, uncomfortable type that I personally love.

I would recommend this book to anyone, even if they haven't read the books before. I intend to purchase the first three, and hopefully more. Excellent. There are a few typos here and there - I noticed a mix-up between "accept" and "except", and sometimes I noticed the occasional stunted sentence that could have been merged with the one that followed... But unlike other books where a grammar error would really throw me, I ignored it because the plot and characters and DIALOGUE (!) were wonderful!

Not a lot happens, per se - the book takes place over a short period of time, and before you know it it's finished, but that didn't bother me either. I loved what I read, and hope the characters show up in future additions to the series.

Plus the author is from my neck of the woods - glad to see her doing so well!

This writer can do dark romance with humor which keeps me going back to her books. This is one of the first books in the series and I had to reread it. The way she explains the origins of Vampires (aka immortals in the book) is very unique and I do not want to spoil it. Read the series but the last 2 years the stories are getting to be the same. Great while it lasted so I like to reread them.

I picked up this book because it was the next in the series. I loved the other books, the characters were funny, had the 3 dimensional feel you love to get with books. Boy was this book a let down big time. Lucian was so uncaring, so 2 dimensional, I found myself falling asleep at times. And poor Leigh had to be shackled with him. And this is suppose to be a romance book. Ok where's the romance? You don't get to the romantic parts until almost page 292. The book was very plodding, boring and yet it felt like the author slapped this book together at the last minute and called it good. I call it bad. Hopefully the next book will be better, perhaps with Thomas as the main character. Now that would make for one yummy book. I do give credit where credit is due and say Lynsay Sands is a good author and I won't let one sour apple wreck my enjoyment of the rest of her series.

In Kansas City, Kansas, Coco Restaurant owner Leigh closes her place down at three in the morning before heading home. This night however, Morgan a rogue vampire bites her, which converts her to one of the undead.

Though a vampire Lucian Argeneau hunts down and exterminates rogue vampires with his current task being to end Morgan's reign of terror. However, he has a side assignment to assist Leigh on living in the vampire style. To his chagrin, he thinks Leigh may just be his soulmate after two millennium of existing with ennui as his partner. The teacher ponders how to woo his student when he last courted a female two thousand years ago. Everything tastes better with Leigh at his side, but he must not become too distracted as Morgan remains on the prowl.

The fun in Lynsay Sand's latest vampire romance is observing Lucian as he suddenly needs to understand modern living after centuries of surviving if he is to win the heart of his beloved Leigh at the same time he must keep her safe from Morgan and teach her how to be a vampire. Fans of the Sands saga will enjoy BITE ME IF YOU CAN as love brings an ancient one into the twenty-first century; making readers wonder just who is the teacher.

I really thought this would be a great one because I was looking forward to Lucian's tale in this one. Ms. Sands has created a fabulous world that I enjoy but this book was just too simple. I didn't enjoy how the female character gets turned. I didn't enjoy how both had been married before and she had been abused. I just felt like she didn't execute what she set out to do in this book. I thought she would further develop these characters. I did enjoy how she brought some of the characters from past books back and gave you an update but they weren't even wrote as richly as she has in the past. I enjoy her books but it seems like the last two haven't really had a true plot and the main characters haven't really felt each other. I can't give this a 5 because I didn't feel like it furthered the series. However I recommend it to others for them to continue the series.

Lucian Argeneau vampire hunter is after a nest of rogue vampires when he comes across Leigh as she escapes their den after being turned. Falling for her right off he escape business woman back to Canada to a his place for safety. The rest of the hunters are tracking down the escape vampires and try to make sure they don't follow them home. Leigh isn't one to take things laying down. She's taken more than self defense courses and can hold her own against the enemy as well as holding her own with Lucian who wants more than anything to push her into being his life mate but bad past relationships as made it hard for her to get past sex craved friends.

I had already read this but wanted to re read it on my kindle. It is the story of Lucien and Leigh and it shows Lucien in a completely different light. We get the idea that he is always the formidable head if the family but it is apparent he has a hard shell with a soft center. His developing story with Leigh is sweet and I like that she's not some simpering female but stands up yo him right from the get go. If you are into this series you will like this one.

In Bite Me If You Can we follow the adventures of the resident Scrooge of the Argenau's, Lucian Argenau.

In Kansas City, very early in the morning (before dawn), Leigh is seen walking towards her home after another long night working at her restaurant/bar Coco's. Unfortunately for her former employee Donny Avries stops her with the intention of turning her into a vampire. Donny's sire, Morgan, sees potential in Leigh and desides to keep her for himself.
While Leigh is being kept in their lair, Donny and Morgan argue over her. Lucian Argenau and sidekicks drop in and in the havoc that ensues some bad guys were shot down and some escaped (Morgan & Donny and some others). As Leigh was an innocent bystander/victim Lucian Argenau decided to save her on impulse.
Not knowing what to do with her, Lucian decided to drop Leigh over at Marguerite's. But upon arriving shocking news is going to rock his world and turn it upside down. Which actually started with him saving Leigh in the first place. He helps her with the first stages of vampirism, gets a heart to heart with his nieces and nephews and in-laws, who at this stage can read his mind, and relearns how to love again.

This one is one of my favourites as the humor is well written. Examples are the scenes with Julius the dog and that heart to heart scene (the revelations are stunning LOL).

Each and every book in this series is a great read - funny, with good plot, well written.
Lucian's story is no exception. He finally met his match - strong, independent woman. I like that she doesn't afraid to introduce her heroines as strong women - and her heroes are strong enough not to shy away from loving these women. Thumbs Up!

Feel like the Argeneau's are family having read so many of the books in this series. They are fun, serious, enigmatic, tough, sweet and can still be mean as Hell. Being a vampire, or Immortal as they prefer, is almost secondary to their stories. Then again it is the reason they have a story!

Since I loved all the Argeneau Vampire books (1-9) and The Rogue Hunter (unofficially #10 but still within the Argeneau realm) I'm writing this review only once for all. I started with Rogue Hunter then went back to get all the rest (still waiting on book 2 Love Bites from the store). I liked the Accidental Vampire best (funny) and then Vampire Interrupted (good plot) and then all the rest lumped together. I liked the new twist that the Vampires/Immortals are descended from Atlantis and evolved from nano-technology instead of the usual vampire story. Even though the format for each book is basically the same (Vampire meets human, they fall in love and exist happily ever after), the settings are modern and language is normal speak, which made reading enjoyable for me. Hope Lynsay Sands continues with more Argeneau family or friends. These and others have me hooked on Paranormal Romance.

When you sit down with the Argeneus' family you know you are in for a great ride (read!) In this addition I was total surprised by the hero. When I ran out to the store (yes they are that good) I was sure the tale was about another character. But you learn to love the long feared head of the family.

And just in case you have missed a story or two Lynsay Sands puts a family tree so you can see the matches already made and hope to soon read the character looking for the mate.

This book is worth your money and most important your time.

Enjoy!

The one who thought Lucian was two dimensional doesn't know enough people. I loved him and the humor of his floundering with a just turned immortal that upset his boring static life. I have read this book and one other in this series by Lynsay Sands. I hoped this would be an improvement. It was not.

Sands' writing is plodding, and she spells out everything in a pedestrian manner. By the end of this book you will have read several pointless descriptions of the dog going out to pee, and if you should happen to not know what "he raised his eyebrows" means, don't worry, because Sands will follow that statement by telling you "he was surprised - he did not expect that."

Whatever conflict there is in this book takes place on 5 pages, and is completely uninteresting.

This book was completely dry and flat. I picked it up at an airport because I am a bit of a fan of the genre, but you really have to tread carefully there. I would recommend instead for those interested in modern-world vampires/supernatural books that you try Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong, or Jim Butcher.

This book was simply awful. It started off well enough, but soon it had me rolling my eyes and skipping pages. I could hardly finish it. There were so many things that bothered me. First, there was the hero. He seemed like an incompetent idiot. He was supposed to be fierce, strong and a bit intimidating, but he was just stupid and pitiful. He couldn't do a single thing without tripping or spilling something or without something going wrong. They were supposed to be vampires. Oh yeah? How so? They could go out in daylight, they ate normal food. Oh yeah, they drank blood. OMG. Every time they 'popped the blood bag to their fangs' I felt an urge to either ROTFL or simply throw the book away. It was just so very bad. Worse then bad. It was a disaster. Not to mention all the stupid things the heroes did. They were supposed to hide, but they went to have a lunch in a restaurant? And, of course, they went shopping. A vampire going shopping? Come on! Oh, and did I mention they could go out in the sun? If not for the constant referring to them as vampires and all the blood bags, you wouldn't know they are vampires. And the hero bought a bunch of books on how to satisfy a woman. But despite the books, the love scenes were forced and totally flat. Blah. The hero was supposed to be a hot sexy guy, but because he was so clumsy he seemed all the more pathetic. Oh, did I mention they had a dog? Vampires who own a dog, fancy that. I don't know if the author wanted to make such a pitiful hero and such a disaster of a book, or if she really is that incompetent. Please, don't read this book. If you want to read an amazing paranormal romance, read Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series.

I love Lynsay Sands! It was so much fun to read Lucian's story. I waited entirely too long to read this one. It got lost on my TBR wall of shelves. I love this series and have been waiting to read Lucian's story. He's protective and crotchety and sexy, and deserves his own heroine to smooth out the edges. He gets it with Leigh. Sand's story is funny. Many laugh out loud moments. Poor Lucian didn't stand a chance. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. Yes, nothing else got done that day.
