Very useful in many ways. I have listened to every CD and now I need to use them every now and than - jump right in to a chapter or listen to the whole CD again. I highly recommend you to read the book or buy the CD's!!

It was great listening to her while driving from here to there in my car. She makes some really good points using wonderful illustration within her personality and humor on how our past hurts and joys affect our interior in the present moment. Sometimes we just do not see ourselves from the day to day expression of who we are in all our relationships and in the understanding of ourselves. Brene's talks backed up by her research data are encouraging and challenging. They sort of position you to move forward and enable the work necessary for a good quality of life.

This is a MUST HAVE title from Brené Brown! Recorded at a live event, this 6 cd set encompasses Brené's entire field of work. Her personality shines through in each humorous story and relevant observation. If you enjoyed her TED Talks, you will absolutely LOVE this audio recording! I cannot recommend this title enough! Get it! You won't regret it!

To put it simply... this program is amazing! Brene Is a pioneer and a truly remarkable presenter. She uses humor and also dives into the material with a gusto that is inspiring! There were moments in the presentation that are ah ha's, moments of possible tears, and moments of deep belly laughter! Talk about the best of the best!

I am still listening to the CDs, but so far it is one of the most incredible and informative series I have listened to. She is great to listen to and I find myself driving slowly in my car so I can prolong the drive and hear more. I have to constantly rewind and listen again, because her thoughts and points are so provocative.

Vulnerable but alive.... and so shall we all meander through life ... alone and together... like the Marines, we may think we are one and many working together but we are really just all taking each day as it comes being as brave as we can be. Life is a journey and it is also an adventure... pull your own sword from the stone it is set and journey on to explore, and enjoy knowing no one has a suit of armor, least of all thee.

Her books alone make my audible membership worth every penny. I am on a mission to become a better version of myself. I had no idea how I’ve allowed people to shame me most of my life, nor how toxic shame is when you become the inflicting person. I think twice now when I speak to my children and my loved ones. Listening once is not enough for me and I enjoy the listen each and every time. To me, this is her best work. I highly recommend everyone listens to this once in their lifetime.

This was one of the greatest things I've ever listened to. I loved it so much, I bought it for several friends. My husband recommended it to me, and after I started listening to it, I would look for any excuse to put my headphones on to listen to it. I keep replaying it too, so I can really let her words and research sink in. I loved the way Brene made me laugh because there are definitely parts of this that will take you to some dark places and the comedy helps bring you right back out of it. It's amazing, and I think it would be beneficial for most people to listen to.

So grateful my library had a copy of this! This is by far the best audio version of her work. How wonderful and refreshing to have her read/present this! I've been slowly working through Brene's works and slowly changing my life (one of her previous audio books has a reader that just isn't a good match, imo). So far I've listened to this one 3 times. Brene says she has a mantra for everything, well she's become my mantra, so many of her words and insights have become my serenity prayer. Please understand, this comes from a devout atheist, suspicious of anything too culty or touchy feely (as a church trauma survivor). This lady is onto something, and while I won't follow her off a cliff, I can't wait to read and listen to her next books!

This is a series of lectures that covers many of the themes Brene Brown discusses in her books. I have been interested in Brown's work but admittedly can find her books difficult to read because of the self-work that her material engenders. I found this recording to be a great alternative entry point for me. Delivered by Brene herself to a live audience, the lectures are accessible, entertaining, and even funny! There's still serious themes and hard work to be dealt with, but Brene delivers the medicine with a spoonful of sugar. Highly recommended!

For those without much self-awareness it may be useful. For those with deep emotional issues therapy would be better.
Her talk is aimed at upper middle class professionals worried about their status and that of their kids. For example, she characterizes people who work 60 - 70 hours/week as workaholics rather than people struggling to make a living on low pay.
She made some strange points. For example, she said research showed rigid parenting and lack of childhood play figured in the psychological problems of the U of T gunman. Then she went on to a lengthy discussion of the importance of play. Investigators believe the gunman's violence was due to a brain tumor not childhood experiences.

I cannot speak positively enough about this series. I would like every leader in America to listen to this. I think this should be required listening for every pastor in America, particularly those who use shame as a "motivator." Exceptionally well done.

I really like all of her audio programs but this one is my favorite. It was entertaining, made me think and gave me a different perspective on the effects of shame in our culture, the power of vulnerability and also the importance of empathy. Although the seminar was six hours it didn't feel that long at all. I was engaged for almost the entire time.

Great book about authenticity. It made me realize how much everyone does day-to-day because of culture, expectations and shame. Fascinating to think about all of this and inspirational for changing some things to be more authentic.

Okay, I don't normally review books on the store, but this one earned it. Here's my story.
I went to bed at 10pm and was listening to the audio book, hoping to fall asleep.
...and there I was, still awake at 2am. I couldn't stop laughing at her stories and illustrations.
I haven't even finished it yet, but obviously, content wise, it was entertaining enough to make me lose sleep, and precious few books are capable of that.
And for that, she gets 5 stars.
Well done Brene! I hope you've worked on your cookie making!

Don't wait, just get this recording. It's so profound. I'm in the middle of this recording and I have laughed, cried, nodded and cringed. I can totally see past events where I was in shame, where I was afraid to be vulnerable and where I was vulnerable. Really, do yourself a favor and get this.

Still one of the most-watched TED talks in history, Brown’s first talk at TEDx Houston went viral almost overnight. (Her follow talk on the main TED stage the following year also deserves a watch.) Fall in love with the every-day straight talk that exudes wisdom based on research and real living.

This is a must read/listen. I bought the audible book, and devoured it on my commute to work. Brene Brown is an absolute pleasure to listen to— she’s witty, real and oh so passionate. If you like her other books then this is definitely one to listen to!!!

Brene Brown is so incredibly intelligent, inspiring, and honestly FUN to listen to. I was genuinely sad when this was over, because I was so enjoying listening to her speak! I've been recommending this to all my friends.

Never written a review before and let’s just say I’ve read a lot of self help/self exploration type books but this is one of the best I’ve heard. I wrote down a million notes and quotes and a-ha moments. This is a piece I wish ever human would listen to.

Brené Brown is a gifted story-teller and writer (although she claims that she does not like writing). This audiobook is a live recording of a series of workshops, so it is "narrated" by her. She has a spontaneity and self-deprecating humor that are hard to match. it is very reach in content. I listened to the whole thing once, and now my wife and I are listening again together, a little piece at the time, talking about what resonates with us.

The Power of Vulnerability is amazing and a course for all humans. I was given this as gift, because I spend a lot of time in my car (as a full-time yoga teacher driving from class to class) and have been listening to it on repeat. STRONGLY recommend!

Life changing! Brene' is funny, and sincere. Her own vulnerability grown out of years of research makes her a true expert. I have much to digest from the these 6+ hours. I will be listening to this on repeat for a while.

I like the content and think this issue should be discussed publicly. The lack of one star is due to two items: 1) the audio quality is only medium given that this was a recorded talk given to some group and not an actual studio recording with professional reader, and 2) Dr. Brown seems to think that using profanity is going to help her connect with her audience. I guess, if her audience is trashy. But it's not necessary and is not professional, and I would listen to her more eagerly if she didn't think I was one of her beer-drinking buddies.

Brene Brown did a fantastic TED talk but this cd is endless yak about her family, about other moms in the lift club and by the second cd I was falling asleep. Anyone can make a cd of the sort this is, Save your money, take the kids out for icecream, it will create more value in your life, and theirs.

The Course of Miracles talks about our interior ego who is always narrating everything through shame and guilt and the need to project onto others so we are not alone in our shame and guilt. This book explains the damage shame has on all aspects of our life through the lies the ego tells.

Love Brene, her honesty and realness had me relating the entire 6 discs. Life changer for me! I however wouldn't recommend going back to back with this and daring greatly, feel like the first half (havn't finished it yet) was a recap of the entire power of vulnerability although could contain more, just wouldn't recomend doing them back to back - Also Daring greatly is audioed by someone else - Brene is so damn funny it was kind of a let down. Conclusion is Power of Vulnerability is AWESOME and I'd recommend it to anyone!

I'm sure it's 5 star for a lot of her CLASS of people, TEXAN, SOUTH, WHITE, probably REPUBLICAN and her message is great = be a connected, "wholehearted" awesome self without a care of what people think of you, but the overemphasis on psychological analytics and researcher mumbo jumbo is not MY thing.

This is not a book. It's a series of talks reordered on audio CD. The speaker is tense and distracted, while trying hard to sound like she knows it all. It's really annoying listening to her. Unfortunately, the material is also nonsense; some idiotic conclusions based interviews with people. She presents her own delusional stories about love and belonging as if they are facts! I wish I could have my money back... I can't see how this has been selling for such an expensive price.

LOVE THIS CD!! Brene Brown hit a home-run on this CD. She is entertaining and informative. My husband - who doesn't buy into all the self help stuff- stated that he enjoyed it and that he did learn about himself and his perfectionism. This 6 hour CD Brene Brown takes the information from Daring Greatly and Gifts on Imperfection and presents it in a very entertaining and educational format.

Dr Brene Brown has become one of my new favourite people. Ever since I watched her TED Talk titled The Power of Vulnerability, I've been hooked on the knowledge and wisdom she shares.
She has spent over a decade researching the topic of vulnerability which she would define as "uncertainty, risk and emotional exposure." She'd further say that vulnerability is not either a good or bad emotion but rather the essence to all emotions that when understood and cultivated will allow us to walk into a greater sense of meaning, purpose and joy in life.
