I enjoyed this book so much that I finished in one sitting. None of the normal romance ridiculousness of each of the lovers lying to one another about their true feelings. They were honest and strait forward with one another the whole time. And the storyline was great. I laughed and cried and I was terrified all in the same book! I can't wait to read the next in the series!

The novel moved smoothly from one exciting adventure to another. I liked the ending and am looking forward to reading the next two books in the series. I hope that both the sister and mother will be touched upon also in the next two books. I do so dislike unfinished characters!

Beginning to end the story is full of action & suspense. The heroine is a little wild for being an "innocent" girl but you learn to look past that! The love story is as expected...but I must admit there were moments where I couldn't put it down.
Accidental Fiancé :: How to Capture a Duke (Matchmaking for Wallflowers Book 1) :: Unlaced (Ashton/Rosemoor series Book 1) :: A Historical Regency Romance Book - For the Love of a Duchess :: Do You Want to Start a Scandal (Castles Ever After)

I don't usually read historical romances, I get lost in the wording and the useless females, but this one was worth the money. The heroine is not the fainting flower. She is tough and she is not afraid. The hero, well he is all man. I would love to give you a brief run down of the story but where do you start and how do you not give something away. It is a mystery and has so many twist and turns it keeps you reading. There is sex, torment and tears. Just read it! You will love it!

Read this on a quiet afternoon. Hero and Heroine fit and they are likable. It's a short, intense adventure with excitement and love mixed in. Did not like the "torture" sections although they were a small part. That's why I gave it 4 stars.

This book was a bit different than the norm, good different. It was nice to see an h with a bit of spunk, the H was the usual overbearing Duke but he came around eventually. The only bit of critique I have is I think the sex scenes were a bit over done, went on a little too much. Plus it didn't take too much to figure out which object was causing all the trouble, the instant it was mentioned it was like a big neon arrow flipped the 'on' sign. I would have thought what the baddie was after was more dastardly than it turned out to be, his evil overpowered what he was after.

What do I like about STONE DEVIL DUKE? EVERYTHING!

The characters are human and flawed..Who'd have thunk it? A story that gets you in and makes you ask ???

And a bastard of a villian that gets his just deserts and the connecting of the H/h to overcome the repercussions.

"A HOLD YOUR BREATH NOVEL"? I am...until Killian's story is published. 3:)

If someone had written a review that warned of bedroom scenes and some bad language I would not have downloaded this book. I have nothing against the author's style. I would consider it well written as far as I got. My personal preference in books are those that are clean and I appreciate seeing that in a review. I did not finish this book.

I did enjoy this one. It pulls off a regency romance with less than conventional characters, which is hard to do given the formulaic nature of this genre. Aggie is interesting, stubborn, etc. but still believable as a character. Same goes for Devon. They each have their past traumas that both inform their present actions and have consequences on their interactions with each other. I liked that. I thought overall the book was well plotted and paced and I read it through in one night.

I feel a bit uneasy in rating this book, because I really liked the characters and the mystery behind both their lives, but the (too) many typos annoyed me a lot and the torture scene was definitely too much and excessively graphic. I hate gratuitous violent scenes and I avoid, as much as I can, the violence in the books that I read and in the movies I watch, that’s why I think it might be useful for other readers to know that in this book there are some gruesome parts. In my opinion, it is really a pity because, for once in a while, there is a heroine who fends for herself without losing her believability and the hero is strong and protective but not infallible. Their feelings sound genuine and grow in time; there are no artificially arranged difficulties or obstacles, nor irritating misunderstanding. They talk to each other openly and share their insecurities, finding solace in each other. The mystery is well woven and intriguing until the end. I think I’ll read the second book in the instalment just to see if it gets better: with less violence and, especially, less typos.

I fad never read a book by this author and for the most part I enjoyed it. She is a very good writer. But the torture was too much for me. There is enough horror in the real world, I do not want to read it. I will not be Holding my breath

Whoever labeled this book a regency novel, just looked at the date and never read a page. It is a dark crime novel played in the 1800s. After forcing myself reading 14 chapters, 3 pages at a time, and hoping the worst was over, I skipped to the last chapter and after reading the gory details, I quit the book after 10 pages.
I removed this book from my Kindle.

i wanted to like it. but like many readers mentioned this book needs a strong editing. the story is no bad per se but the "impulsive, independent, courageous heroine" was so dumb that i could not get over it; putting herself in life or death situations so often that make the plot not believable. i skip the stupid tortures escenes, even the sex ones an went to the end to see how the bad evil character die and was very anticlimatic. the book has a good spine, but the heroine was terrible.

Stone Devil Duke is my first book by K.J Jackson but it won't be my last. It a fast read with interesting characters, a conflicted Duke with big issues from his past, a heroine in peril that does not wait to be saved but is the one to try and save others, good friends, danger, romance, mystery in other words a little bit of everything. You might ask yourself then why I did not give it a 5 star rating and I will tell you I'm not sure. I liked it, but it did not make me sigh don't get me wrong it's good and I do recommend it, specially if you have kindle unlimited you can read it for free.

I loved the beginning. The character development and story line was intriguing and wonderful. I had to put it down and stop reading because of the inappropriate descriptions when it came to intimate situations. Those seemed forced and out of place. (Think zero to 600mph in one second.) The physical reactions were not warranted for what was going on in the story line. I am looking for clean romance, so this is not my cup of tea. I am sad that I can't finish this book as I would like to, but I do not want to read those kinds of descriptions. If this comes out in a clean version, let me know and I would love to read it!

Second book I have read by this author, and cannot say enough how very well written this is. Great story...suspense, adventure, romance, erotic sensuality, funny, sad....it has it all. The plot is,fresh and its one book you will not want to put down for a moment. Read in a day. Absolutely recommend highly, and getting ready to read the next book in this series. Jackson can write, and spins a wonderful tale.

Book: Stone Devil Duke
My Star Rating: 4 out of 5
Will I read I read it again? YES

I was given this book to read and give an honest review. This review is my honest opinion and I have fully read this book.
Lady Augustine Christopherson (Aggie) is not after revenge BUT she is after the 5 men that killed her father. When she watched her father die in front of her she saw the faces and evil eyes of his killers. She wants them dead. But they want her dead. After the second time they have tried to kill her she decides that she must go after them and kill them before they kill her.
In London acting as a hack driver late at night, Aggie gives the Duke of Dunway (also known as Stone Devil Duke) a ride. She runs into the 4 men that she is after and with the help of the Duke she kills 2 of them.
The Duke continues to help Aggie with the mystery of who these killers are. This was a great story and great players in the book. I can’t wait until the next one!!

I usually skip the review task - I know, not nice. But I usually don't have much to say about most books or authors. This is my first book by this author. It will not be my last. She develops her characters and scenes in a way that make you earmark know "what's next" I enjoyed this book so much that I downloaded the next two before finishing this one. Now on to the next one.

Loved this book! I like men who know what they want and Devin wanted Aggie! It was an exciting story to the end. I also like the way it introduced the characters into this book so well that it made sure you would continue to follow them into their story. Excellent author!
