James Patterson's fantastic story is one again brought to life in this fantastical manga. Although, I will admit, I don't know what's going on in the story because icing only read up to the party where Max realizes that Dr. Martinez is her mom and they all fly away. But in saving up to buy the rest of the books and the ones I've already read.

BOUGHT BY MISTAKE.... I had already read the Maximum Ride books and thought the MANGA series was a continuation. To my shock, the MANGA series is a duplicate with cartoon layout....spent money for nothing. I would recommend the original series, not the Manga series.
Maximum Ride: The Manga, Vol. 3 :: Max (Maximum Ride, Book 5) :: Down by the Bay (Raffi Songs to Read) :: How to Write Great Blog Posts that Engage Readers (Better Blog Booklets Book 1) :: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports (#3) - Maximum Ride

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 unicorns - I loved it!!
**Checked out from the high school library
Okay remember I find reviewing these graphic novels/manga more difficult to do without giving away things in the book. This series rocks and I can’t wait to get the actual books and read them too!! These are quicker to read than a book, so I can get through them much more quickly.
Well since the blurb already tells you, the flock moves to D.C. They meet a new friend where they find a home and go to a real school. They still have plenty of battles with the erasers, but the erasers are getting new tricks of their own. The flock is still finding new abilities and always backing each other up. There are more mysteries and intrigue to keep you very interested. There is definitely nothing boring about this series. My son can’t wait to get his hands on this book to re-read it. He is so excited that I’m reading books he has read. These are a great way to bond with your kids especially boys since they tend to learn more towards this type of book.
I can’t wait to read book 4 in this series!
I highly recommend graphic novels/manga for all your reluctant readers and your kids who are very visual. I also think they are a great break in between books or filler when you don’t have time to read a full novel.

In the wake of the Flock's battle in and escape from New York City the Flock encounters something that makes their blood chill while en route to Washington, D.C.: flying Erasers. It seems every time the Erasers come after them, there is always a most unwelcome new feature to them. During the ensuing dogfight, Fang is seriously injured, forcing the Flock to leave him in the care of a human hospital.
During Fang's stay, an FBI agent appears and strikes a deal with Max: shelter in exchange for a chance to "learn about the Flock in noninvasive ways."
Naturally, Max doesn't want to decide until Fang is healthy again, but during the night, Max witnesses a horrifying sight: she sees herself as an Eraser when she looks in a mirror. For now, she passes it off as a hallucination, and when Fang fully recovers the next morning, Max decides to take Anne up on her offer. Anne brings the Flock to her home, a farmhouse on 50 acres of land containing everything they could ever need to live in peace. However, as they explore their new home, watching from afar is a certain Eraser who knows Max very well!
This is not all, as our heroes make more discoveries within a short time: that Angel's dog, Total, can speak English, and that Max now haves the ability to fly at the speed of light! While on a late night excursion to the city, they begin to investigate clues to Iggy's home, but to no avail.
Affairs do not improve for them very much, as Ari reveals himself once more and attacks the Flock. Will things ever get easier for them?
Despite it being a graphic novel, so many things happened in this volume, I felt like I was reading a full-length novel. Narae Lee certainly has a way of bringing James Patterson's brilliant and imaginative creation to illustrative life. Anyone who picks up this series will not be disappointed, only becoming more engrossed with each passing installment.

As a mother of 3 kids I am always looking for good books for my kids. All 3 of my kids read the Maximum Ride Manga series and loved them. The books are now circulating among their friends, who also really enjoy them. They are now reading another James Patterson Kid series book called Daniel X. Another great series by James Patterson. They are so good I read them too so I could talk to my kids about them and find out what interests them most. Any time a parent and child can read the same book and enjoy it, that is a good book!

Yet again, this manga was brilliant! I am ever so impressed by the Maximum Ride manga series. The art style is so fresh and new and the story gets better and better. Always just enough story and just the right amount of action to make this a swift and memorable read. I can't wait for the next volume in the series.

I love, love, love this manga book. I felt like I was waiting for chrismas instead of this book.
It was really good and I finished it in like 15 mins. I've read the original maximum ride books and this manga is really close to the main story. The pictures are more detailed an give off more emotions. Now I can't wait for the next volume.
Great comic book NaRae ! :)
(I'll be reading the whole series all over again!)

It felt like I was waiting for maximum ride manga volume 8 to come out since forever, and now it is finally here. I've been buying this manga since volume 1 first came out and I've enjoyed it immensely. It's funny because the books I didn't like so much (mainly I hated the very cheesy book covers for each of the books, they just look lame and ugh idk). narae lee's art style is lovely and you can really see her style progress/evolve through out the series which is great.
Anyways, please pick up the maximum ride manga books you will not be disappointed.

I have a special needs child who is at a 3rd grade reading level. By accident one day she picked up this book. An hour later I realized she was really into this book! Having the comic book layout helped her to stay interested. This is a great series! Not for young kids though (it has a few bad words). I am so excited for the 4th one she keeps asking for it!

I can binge read 3 Maximum Ride books everyday! I'm completely addicted to it. The story is just so perfect and every time a book ends, it has readers on the edge of their seat. I can't wait until the next book. I already pre-ordered it. ^_^

Another great installment of the Maximum Ride manga series. I would definitely recommend it.
(SPOILER ALERT!!!) Max begins to think she may be turning into an Eraser and questions what exactly her feelings towards Fang are. In pursuit of the flock's parents, Iggy describes his disquiet from not finding his parents through the recent lead and how the disappointment is more so for him than for the rest of them. It's a very emotional part of the book and Iggy fans will absolutely LOVE it! I won't say any more about the book, only that it's a must-have for anyone who loves the series!

if you're expecting a beach chapter featuring a bikini girl just from looking at the cover alone, you are dead wrong.
all this chapter was about involved some stupid school speech or something, idw.
not worth even 2 dollars for this deceit.
doesnt even deserve a full 1 star.

I would never had ordered this had I know it was in comic book fashion. I have bought all of his books about the winged children and loved them. I got a notice that said a new one was coming out and did I want to pre order it. I said yes thinking it was to be in the same format as always. I know some of these books are said to be for young readers. But I love this genre and I am 71 years old. But did not want a comic book. I think it would have been nice had I known ahead of time.
Please RateVol. 8, Maximum Ride: The Manga
Story is still enjoyable and some major character development. Story seemed a little rushed. Will I buy volume 10? Absolutely? Would I recommend this to anyone? Yes, especially those that love the series. Can't wait for volume 10!
