WOW! I adore the Dark Hunters series, and the Chronicles of Nick became another link to that world. Well, this Nick has gone above and beyond my expectations and the intricate layers of plot, character interaction, and intertwining with the regular Dark Hunters world has just put things in perspective even more than before and has begun to lay new pieces on the table as it put other pieces in their proper place of this amazing puzzle. BRAVO, Ms. Kenyon! BRAVO with hugs from all those that Nick loves, now and always! Tonja Klein - www.eirinth.com

I still enjoy Kenyon's sarcastic wit in her characters. But the story just doesn't end. I know she is supposed to have this series become a tv show, but I am getting bored with it going on and on and on. As a lover of books, I like to see an end to a story at some point. Also the books are getting shorter and shorter. This one was only seventeen chapters. I think I will wait to buy another book in this series until the last one so I can see how everything ties up together.

I always look forward to her new book coming out. As soon as I finish one I am looking for the next title to pre-order. I unfortunately have to wait for the name to be released to pre-order. I check everyday for the option.

The only downfall I see is waiting for the next one to come out. I enjoyed very series she writes.

You can't go wrong with this author.

Thank You Miss Sherrilyn for another outstanding chapter in Nicks fight for good.

I buy every book in this series the day it comes out and usually read same day. So it was a surprise when I started reading this and never really felt like the book got off of the ground. Was kind of a bland book, seemed like not much happened to me honestly. I hope the series picks back up and gets good again in the next installment.

Gave it a five star rating. Loved the story. Interesting development with the son of Ambrose from the future making a mess with Nick's mind I hope he doesn't succeed. Can't wait for the next book to find out what happens.

I'm a Kenyan fan, I really am and I have followed the Dark Hunter series from the beginning. However, I have not really enjoyed the last couple books in the Chronicles series. She's throwing in everything but the kitchen sink. Characters are going by multiple names and it's like she's decided that everyone must have some long, twisted and drawn out connection to a Pantheon. I keep buying the next installment thinking, "This will be the one when she gets back on track." Unfortunately, that hasn't happened.

I like the characters but the plot and connections between them all and vast amount of them just makes things confusing. I enjoy Kenyon's writing as a diversion but reading this series and her Dark Hunter series is becoming a chore. If every character she has is going to be included, and in many cases related, these books really should include charts to reintroduce them and their connections.

Good but feels like only 1/2 a story. Has no conclusive event at end of book. I love the series - but I don't like when you are forced to buy the next book to find out how the story ends.
Suggest waiting to buy until next part comes out then get this one cheap.

This book wasn't as good as the previous books. The story line didn't proceed very far. The jokes were a little corny and silly. I'm hoping the next one is better. If not, I will have to stop reading this series.

As always Sherrilyn Kenyon writes an excellent story! It explains some things and clears up a few things.. The ending was great! (didn't like it though it left you hanging) Now I have to wait for the next one!:(

UPDATE 8/15/2017 : I have updated this to 3 stars after reading the last few books of the Dark Hunter series. Although it doesn't exactly agree with the latest dark hunter book (Dragonsworn) at least all the arguing over genealogy makes more sense.

This is definitely the last Chronicles of Nick book that I will buy. I don't have 7 years and $70 to waste on more cliffhangers. This was a wasted $10

I really liked Nick and am sad his story gets lost. The Chronicles of Nick is an example of a series ruined when turned into a serial. There are too many new characters added all with lengthy past and future histories and memories. The rest is annoying bickering, hateful, hypocritical and jealous behaviors.

This books story suppose to be that Nick's friends, Dagon, Nashira and then Aeron seem to go AWOL around the same time a new student, Nathan St. Cyr introduced to Nick's class. Nick then begins getting sick and loosing his Malachi powers. There is not much left to sum up the book; only Zavid and Aeron get saved. No one knows how to cure Nick nor can they figure out that Nathan is both the 3rd Malachi and Nick's son.

I am so sad for this series but hopefully I can stick to the Dark Hunter series

This just keeps getting better and better.. I am overjoyed with the story lines and the many colourful people along with the series. Amazed at the twist in turns in all of the characters in the books.

I am truly disappointed with SK's books lately. All her books have the same theme to them. I'm confused on where the books are going. It seems like she is trying to link her previous books to the CON but the timeline is too all over the place. I probably won't buy anymore of her books.

To short as I waited for this novel to be release. I love Sherrilyn creativity and understand that writing can be trying at times. But, I love the spinoff of Nick Chronicles from Dark Hunter trilogy. It develops Nick's character and brings the readers up to date, in understanding the Dark Hunter storyline. However, I sometimes get confused with Nick storyline before he had hook up with the Dark Hunters. In that their seem to be a lot going with his super abilities before becoming a squire in the Dark Hunter novels. However . . . It's a worthy read and a love Simi character I am glad she is part of the storyline. She always bring humor into the telling of the story. But I well say I didn't know she was six feet high always picture her to be four and powerful.

Awesome read.... some parental lineages are answered and they are mind blowing. The characters are so good, love the trio of Nick. Caleb, & Xev the digs they say to each other is hysterical. Great series. The cliffhanger ending is even more mind blowing and we have to wait a year for the next installment..... Dang you Sherrilyn Kenyon.... well played... well played...

Probably the worst of the series. Most of the book was just talk about pointless stuff that had nothing to do with character or plot. Like what everyone was wearing, or Nick's mom and bubba dating. pity party. Just too much time on trying to being funny and not enough time developing the plot which was interesting.

Also what the hell? Where is Nashrima and Dagon. I was really stook about wanting to see the book-turn-girl in some scenes and I got zero. It's like by the end of the book they just forgot all about her. I really felt like most of this book was just pointless and did nothing to add to the story. I'm seriously disappointed. There were good bits, like Ambrose identity and Nick going into the future. However, everything else was just like a long drawn out sitcom.

I have read all the books in this series as well as Dark/Were/Dream-Hunter series. Reading this book made me feel as if I had missed reading some of the books in the series, which I have not. It also felt incomplete and ended abruptly.
First time I have felt this way with one her Ms. Kenyon's books.

I love this series so much!
I'm going to try to write a spoiler free review, because I know many people haven't read it yet. I was lucky enough to have picked it up yesterday and finish it late last night.

After recovering from Instinct, poor Nick still has his hands full. His mom is dating Bubba and Nick is trying his best to not think about that, at all, but gets a small bit of fun from ribbing his mother the same way she does him.

I really enjoyed this one, just like I do all of them, my only problem is they're so SHORT. If I'd been able to read it non-stop, I'd have finished it long before midnight.

We get many bombshells and bits of information, some things that will really make changes and have a huge influence. Honestly, without spoilers, that's about all I can say!
Really, go read it. If you're keeping up with the CoN series and the DH series, you'll get some insight from this book that will most definitely have some influence, perhaps sooner than we might think.
GREAT BOOK, highly enjoyable.

Now I'm going to reread it.

Nick and his friends must battle an unknown enemy as they try to figure out what new calamity has befallen Nick. After getting the Eye of Ananke at the end of the last book, Nick is having visions of past and future events. He must try to decipher what is real while getting new insight into the pasts of his friends. Will new allies help him in rescuing Zavid from Noir or will he be forced into Azmodea to retrieve him? I really enjoyed this book and we learned some new things about characters that appear in this series as well as the Dark-Hunter series.

I find it quite challenging to write reviews for this series. The books are always five-star reading. But it’s hard to think of what to say that won’t expose the whole plot to the book. In this latest adventure into the Chronicles of Nick, Nick is dealing with visions current, past and future that leave him reeling from a deluge of information about those he loves and what may come to pass in the coming future. These visions provide insight into the pasts of this outstanding cast of secondary characters. They provide twists in an ongoing storyline that keeps the reader on the edge and suspensefully waiting for a resolution yet to come.

Invision is a great addition to the Chronicles of Nick and as usual, I’ll be impatiently waiting for what Ms. Kenyon comes up with next.

One thing Sherrilyn Kenyon does well is dialogue. In every book I've read so far, from the Dark-hunter romance novels to the Chronicles of Nick series, she write banter with such wit and flair it's hard to stop reading. Even the dry expository bits are entertaining.
This was a real page turner. I started it in the afternoon and ended up reading through the night (I read slowly), and as tired as I am I want more. I am so looking forward to the next book and what's in store for our demonic little Cajun.
As of late I seem to find more and more errors even in mass published books. I don't know who the proofreaders are but I think they should have someone to double to triple checks manuscripts.
I highly recommend this series.

OMG, my head is spinning, don’t know which way is up or down, I feel like I’m on some funky acid trip right now. That is the only way I can sum up Invision by Sherrilyn Kenyon for you. It’s a wild, crazy, information overload adventure filled with our favourite characters and Kenyon’s overly imaginative mind. My note taking skills were seriously put to task in this one. In true Kenyon fashion she continues her CON series by answering questions from the past book, creating new questions and dropping bombs on us we don’t see coming. These bombs leave our head spinning, jaw hanging open, and in the words of Achmed the Dead Terrorist yelling out Holy Crap!!! I don’t know how many times I said that, along with my other favourites I tend to shout out; ‘No way!, Oh come on, seriously???? I thought my jaw was going to come unhinged by books end from all the shock factor she generates in Invision. However, as much as Kenyon drove me crazy and made me feel like this book should’ve been longer for all the information she tossed my way, I did love this addition to her CON series. There was never a dull moment in this one.

Speaking of which, the information comes at us fast and furious and there really are moments when you will find yourself re-reading a paragraph or page 2 or 3 times to make sure you read that right. The bombs Kenyon drops on us are mind-boggling and you’ll just have to read this one to find out what they are, because as you all know I don’t like to spoil plot lines and those types of reveals. I prefer to let you experience those reveals as I did, and enjoy Kenyon’s gift for wowing the audience. Some of these bomb drops include;

-learning more about Cherise and Kody and just what they mean to Nick and his Malachai
-the reveal of Xev and Caleb’s dad and their connection to Nick, yes Xev and Caleb are half siblings
-the reveal of who Jared’s parents are and his connection to Nick
-the reveal of Xev’s mom
-we finally learn just who and what Verlyn is
-Nick’s connection to M’adoc the Dream warrior, and what it would mean should Nick fall before having a son
-Apollymi’s brother is…thus connecting her to her Nick as well

These reveals left me shocked and sputtering and needing to remember to breath!!!! One event Kenyon finally explains and I don’t feel I’m spoiling anything for you if I tell is how the first Malachai – Monakribos came into existence. It’s no wonder the Malachai is one pissed off preternatural being. Monakribos was in love with Rhubati, but he was tricked into killing her by Grimm and Laguerre because they drugged him. Once the drugs wore off, he saw what he’d done and went crazy, took her blood and painted the Malachai symbols on his body and using magic damned all the world and everyone in it to hell until they fixed the wrong done to him. Hell I’d be pissed too if that was done to me, and you can’t help but feel for the guy and see where he’s coming from. We also learn that from Rhubati’s death Bathymaas springs forth from her body at the moment, but is a shell of Rhubati because she’s missing her heart. It’s not until Bethany is reborn from Bathymaas, and Styxx falls in love with her giving her back her heart that Rhubati is finally complete. So this is why Kody has felt connected to Nick from the very beginning of the series.

We also learn more about the Eye of Ananke and just what it does. It shows you the ‘why of the matter or person’ and it can’t lie or distort the truth. What you see has either happened or will come into being. Thanks to the eye Nick keeps having these visions of events past(Monakribos/Rhubati), and events to come. With events to come Kenyon launches us into the far future where we meet everyone’s grown kids; Kyrian’s, Nick’s, Simi’s, etc, all doing battle against the Malachai Ciprian. Ciprian has freed Noir and Azuza by opening the Gates to Azmodea, and we also learn that Simi’s son Lucien is in love with Nick’s daughter Charity, but never find out who the father of Simi’s kids are because Kody says it would’ve altered the future if Nick had learned that tidbit. Now I really want to know that answer, but in true Kenyon form she doesn’t speak of it again, arrrrr, so frustrating!!!! I guess we just keep reading the series. By books end another bombshell is dropped as we learn Ciprian is Nick’s kid as well, but I was completely stunned and pissed off by the reveal of his mother. There’s no way Nick would get together with this female if she were the last female standing. I’m thinking he had to have been tricked like Monakribos was before becoming the Malachai. I really wish the next book were released already. Why must Kenyon make me wait another year to find out more about this reveal and everything else she dropped on my head in Invision.

Oops, before I forget, one little tidbit we find out that is funny, but answers a few questions about our zombie hunting fave Bubba, his dad is actually a former Hellchaser, but that part of Bubba’s blood is dormant and his father never told him about it, but feels guilty because one of his dad’s enemies is the one responsible for Bubba’s wife and son’s death. His dad feels guilty over it and keeps a close watch on his son now. No wonder Nick and Bubba hit it off so well and why Bubba is attracted to Nick’s mom. Yes, once again the plot thickens. No wonder the guy is a little cooky, but we love him all the same. That part of the book had me howling with laughter along with many others parts of Invision.

As I said at the beginning of my review, I felt like I was on some crazy acid trip by the time I was finished this one. Invision is everything you come to expect from a Kenyon novel; well developed characters you can’t help but come to love, humour and sarcasm in bundles, twists and turns you never see coming, and reveals about characters that leave you stunned speechless, or yelling like a loon at you Kobo e-reader. I don’t know how Kenyon plans to pull everything together past, present and future by the time this series ends, and we get Nick’s adult DH book, but one thing we can count on, we’ll be in for a wild ride to get there. For all you Menyon and CON fans out there Invision is a must read and great installment to the series.

Until next time my fellow Menyon fans, happy reading, and I’m off to try and find my zen again, LOL!!!

As one of Mercedes Lackey’s biggest fanboys, It almost shames me to admit that I had never read any of her Elemental Masters books before receiving a copy of A Study In Sable to review. I was never all that interested in the idea behind the series, so I was a little bit worried that I wouldn’t enjoy the books if I read them, and I didn’t want anything negative to make me second guess buying her other books. I’m pleasantly surprised however, but how fun and exciting a story I found A Study In Sable to be, like any other Mercedes Lackey book I was unable to stop reading.

One of the things I think most about Lackey is her ability to create richly detailed worlds full of wondrous creatures and magic, as well as characters so realistic I half expect them to step right off the page. In A Study In Sable she continues that trend, only she has done so in an alternate history where well beloved characters like Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson exist alongside psychics, mediums, and other practitioners of magic. I can’t tell you how many times I laughed seeing Watson and his wife Mary, both Elemental Masters, helping to solve a mystery that Sherlock Holmes can’t properly assist with, as he is a firm non-believer in all things magic.

I enjoyed reading this enough that I’m going to have to go back and read the previous books in the series, as I think it will help me enjoy this book a little bit more than I already do. I feel lilke there were a lot of inside jokes and character references made throughout the book that I would have picked up on much easier if I had read the previous 11 books first. Not that it really took away from my enjoyment of the book, I just believe it would add to it a bit more. If the previous books in this series are as good as A Study In Sable, I think I have a new series to binge read over the next couple weeks. I now don’t know why I waited nearly 15 years to start this series.

I would recommend this book to just about anyone who enjoys fantasy, but I think fans of Mercedes Lackey, Sherlock Holmes, or Fairy Tales will really enjoy this the most. Whether they have read the previous books or not!

I received a free copy of this publication in exchange for an honest review.

I continue to really enjoy this series. The banter and wit alone make this an enjoyable read. Having approximately a year gap between each release does challenge my memory for all the many different characters, but I find I catch back up fairly quickly. As always, the end leaves me wanting for more, and somewhat annoyed that these books aren’t longer than they are. At 368 pages, I suppose I really shouldn’t complain, but still . . .

I'm a HUGE fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon and all her series books. This is the latest installment of young Nick's crazy life. What can I say other that I love Nick and all the great characters trying to keep him alive and out of trouble. They all have great adventures trying to keep him from ending the world as we know it. Please keep these books coming.

I really need like a flow chart for all the characters in this universe every time I read a new book. Kind of a slow beginning but picks up about halfway through. We actually got a clue as to wtf is going on in the epilogue though it also brings up more questions. I also think Sherri needs to explain better how all these beings fit into a hierarchy of power. She played up Acheron and Savitar too well for decades for me to easily swallow beings with the power to hide from them easily. It could be just me though.

Kenyon the amazing writer she is has created this unpredictable world in which Nick thinks he know the end game, but maybe not. With all the twists and turns and new developments in this book I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the next book.

Too many questions being raised and not enough answers! I'm starting to wish I'd started this series later in life so I could binge read them. Course, doing that with the Dark-Hunters didn't last more than a couple months either. ?

I liked it, don't get me wrong. The characters, as always, are enjoyable. But I felt kinda disapointed by the end of the book. I felt like nothing really happened or was resolved. It feels like it should've been the first half of a longer book.

Sadly after waiting so long for this book I was very let down. I bet if you skip this book and read book 8 when it comes out you would not miss anything. 70% of the book is repeating what we already know. She tried to make this book a background book of other characters and failed. It has zero plot and progression of the story. This book could of been released as 50 pages honestly.

Really? This book is actually getting 5 stars? Don't get me wrong, I love Nick and all his friends, but her last few books in this series could have probably been made into one book. I feel that Ms Kenyon is taking advantage of her loyal fans, making us wait a year between books and barely giving us a story worth the money we are paying per book! Invision was lacking in relevant content, from the 200 pages, maybe 50 held information that would make this book an important part of this series. The ending was a great cliffhanger to make me impatient for the next book, but PLEASE, stop with the useless page fillers and get to the point of the story already! I hope the next book is more like the first books in this series and not another waste of time, otherwise I won't be continuing this series.
