Kresley Cole you are one of the few authors that do not disappoint (Crosses fingers no jinxing). Pleasure of a Dark Prince was truly a treat. And paperback too!

We have seen Lucia and Garreth since the first Immortal's After Dark installment. Last we heard from them Lucia was running from Garreth and he promised his brother Lachlain that he would have her back in two weeks. Now a year later Garreth is puzzeled and pissed that he's chased Lucia all over the world and now is in the the store (Green Hell) which he vowed never to return too. He wants some dang answers, luckily through meddling fingers (Futs Nucking Nix) he's on a boat with his mate, heehee she's stuck in the same cabin. What Garreth doesn't know is that Lucia has secrets, dark dangerous and shameful secrets that only Regin knows about. They are so dark and twisted that they constantly threaten to destroy her every ascension. With all her secrets and past between them, it seems unlikely that they will live to see Nix meddle to the point of goddesshood.

Wow, most series petter out after a few books. In fact the longest I was interested in a series was around 6-7 books. Kresley Cole's plot line is more in depth and more twisted with each installment. I find myself reading A Hunger Like No Other and thinking wow... that was actually a pretty simple plot line (hey I adored it no critique here) compared to the last few. I'm so happy. With that final epilogue Cole has us opening and closing the book again and again trying to make a 'sneak peak' or another chapter appear. Please continue to make wonderful characters, hot scenes, butt kicking females, confused males and give Lothaire a chance.... for me?

Expectations are so hard to meet with a long running series like this one, but Cole still has yet to let me down. She delivers another fantastic Immortal pairing in Lykae 'Dark Prince', Garreth MacCrieve who wishes for a woman who is a challenge and then - The Fates are laughing here - spies Valkyrie Huntress Lucia on a assasination mission and immediately recognizes her as his mate. Of course as much as the sparks fly between the pair and Lucia is suddenly struggling to maintain the vow of chastity which is tied to her incomparible archer powers, this is going to be exactly what Garreth asked for a challenge - and then some.

I love Cole's Lykae (wolf shifters) and Garreth is a wonderful leading man - devoted, honorable and sexy. And I love the way the Cole uses the mate attraction to kick start the relationship between Garreth and Lucia but then sets insurmountable obsticles - apocalyptic ones - between them to make them really work for a happily ever after and to force them to actually get to know and love each other beyond the lust at the same time.

One thing about Pleasure of a Dark Prince that I thought was especially smart on Cole's part, is that she starts the story timewise a bit before the first novel in the series, A Hunger Like No Other (The Immortals After Dark Series, Book 1), and then the story spans events in several books. By doing this Cole makes sure that a reader new to the Immortal's After Dark series could actually start here and still enjoy the story without feeling lost. This is a pretty amazing feat for the 9th book in a series that has a building story arc that crosses the books. But if you are a new reader don't stop here, go back and begin at the beginning. Cole's Immortal after Dark is one of my very favorite series - it has humor, spice and the immortal/immortal starring pairs mean that Cole's leading ladies are every bit as strong as their leading men.

Now the waiting begins.... I am so excited - the end of 'Dark Prince' sets up for Cole's upcoming back to back to back trilogy out later this year starting with Demon from the Dark (starring witch Carrow and 'vemon' half vamp/demon Malkom).

I have to give this book 3 starts but only because I like Kresley Cole's writing style. I have to agree with the reviewer who gave the book 1 star. The heroine, Lucia the Archer is not deserving of her Lykae. Fundamentally, I saw no reason why she couldn't tell him up front that she was already married to some ugly ass Demon who she had to kill in order to be freed and she had taken a vow of chastity in order to keep her archery skills. Seriosly? What is so damn hard about that. But nooooo. She kept the poor man-wolf running after her, literally, for a year. It's too bad that these Lykae have only 1 mate because I would have said see ya! I liked Bowen's story and I absolutely loved Lachlain's story, but this one left me flat.
The Demon's Possession (Shadow Quest Book 1) - Paranormal Romance :: Lothaire (Immortals After Dark) :: Shadow's Seduction (Immortals After Dark) (Volume 17) :: Dead of Winter (The Arcana Chronicles) :: Still Not Over You: An Enemies to Lovers Romance

I really enjoyed this book and was surprised that it took Cole until book 7 to tell Lucia & Garreth's story but I think it worked out well that she did wait. There are now many different events lining up for the upcoming Accession and that works to the book's advantage.

I loved Lucia as a character because she was so perfectly flawed. I love characters that are real....and Lucia is very real, very human....even though she is Valkyrie and does not like humans, she is more like them than she realizes. I loved the irony of that. She is egostatiscal and stubborn but honestly what woman (in this day & age) wouldn't be if she was the best at something? Lucia is the best archer in the Lore world and she knows it....and she admits that she should be more humble but she's Valkyrie and she doesn't want to, even though she didn't "earn" the initial talent but was gifted it.

She wants to be with Garreth badly but she refuses to forsake her gift and her oath for a man she just met. She had suffered greatly a millenia ago and still carries the burden for rushing into a relationship when she was young and stupid. After being burned that badly, what woman is willing to forsake everything important in her life for a man she just met and starts to fall for? Is it so wrong that a man has to earn a woman's acceptance and love? Lucia stands by her beliefs and her promises and that she makes Garreth work to earn her. I loved that Lucia was stubborn and afraid and that she was the one to do the falling and accepting.

Garreth is a great character, I loved him from the previous books. I think he suited Lucia well. I love that he never gives up her and spends an entire year chasing her around the world. It was great that Lucia pushed him to see how much he would take, without ever really doing something so tramatic as to break Garreth's spirit. What woman wouldn't love knowing that her man will never give up on her or stop fighting for her?

Overall a great book and great addition to the IAD series. Not only does it tell the story of Garreth and Lucia but it also nicely continues the plots for the other books to come.

As always Kresley Cole delivers excitement. Robert Petkoff, the reader, is quite good too. Lachlan MacRieve’s younger brother, Garett, is the hero and his mate is Lucia ,The Huntress, a legendary Valkyrie archer.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince was another fab story in the Immortal after Dark series.

Garreth and Lucia's story was full of suspence and very heart breaking moments.
Lucia sure put Garreth to the test but he believed so strongly that Lucia was his mate that he never gave up, no matter what she (or Regin the Radiant) did to him.
Garreth MacRieve tought Lucia was running from him but actually she was on the most important mission of her life.
She was trying to find a Dieumort, a weapon who can kill the evil and very creepy god who tricked and deceived her when she was young and keeps haunting her life.

Okay, so this story was good for the most part. I felt like it dipped into dragging territory a few times, but you can't help but love Gareth. I wanted to shake Lucia a few times, but you also can't help but feel sorry for her. The two are perfect for each other and I really enjoyed reading this book.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince by Kresley Cole
Paranormal Romance Series- Feb 15th, 2010
5 super stars!

What I love best about this book and Kresley Cole's Immortals series is the author's ability to fully transport me into her magical world and make me want to be one of her characters (or wish I had one of them for friends). Her characters never fail to be engaging and although they have extraordinary powers they are always human and easy to connect with.

This story is a departure from the tone of her latest Immortals book Deep Kiss of Winter which had a more serious tone. I found Pleasure of a Dark Prince a fast clipped, fun adventure with snappy characters that had wonderful chemistry and sense of camaraderie. It was simply a fun and joyous read. And fans of the Immortals series will not be disappointed.

As mentioned earlier, readers familiar with this series will find it more lighthearted than her previous story. This book actually begins early in the Immortals time-line around the period of the first book when Emma (the vampire/Valkyrie baby of the family) has been abducted by the 'evil' Lykae (werewolf) King. As a result the Valkyrie are none too happy with the Lykae in general.

Unfortunately, Lucia (our heroine) the famous Archer while on the hunt for kobolds finds herself the prey as the Lykae prince Garreth when he realizes she is his mate. If her brethren were the only obstacle to a relationship and surrendering to Garreth's charms. Lucia also took a vow of chastity to maintain her supernatural Archer abilities. And she needs them for the upcoming Accession, for she alone is responsible for preventing a terrible God from entering the world. But Garreth's attentions and attractiveness are distracting her from her mission. Is her a short period of happiness really worth the price of saving the world from an unspeakable evil?

In this story we discover how Lucia became known as the Archer and the history behind the deep devotion between her and her BFF Regin the Radiant. The pages with the 2 BFFs are moving and seriously funny. Everyone should have a BFF like this to back you up! We also find out how Lucia first meets Garreth and how he hides that she is his mate because her doesn't want to scare her away. Their first meeting is suitably dramatic and mythic enough to please any fan. (What Lucia can do with an arrow and bow are amazing.) But Garreth's determined pursuit of Lucia and his puzzlement at her continued refusal to become 'his' are endearing and a large portion of the story. Even as Lucia begins to care and deny her feeling for Garreth, she fears what Garreth may do if her realizes the truth of her destiny.

I really enjoyed the tricks Lucia used to evade Garreth until he finally caught up with her. I love a feisty heroine and thrill at a determined hero trying to stake his claim. I felt for Garreth as he doggedly pursued Lucia and is met with fake indifference. He really worked for her love and never gave up on her even if she sometimes seemed impossible and she even doubted her own worth. However, it did take me a little longer to warm to Lucia since she tried so hard to hold her emotions from everyone except her Valkyrie sisters.

This book does have a somewhat surprising 'cliffhanger' ending that will keep readers hooked and eager for the next installment. Although the romance does end resolved for the 2 main characters new sub plots and a sudden string of kidnappings ensure an exciting next book!

Imaginative, fun, mythical and joyous. I love this series and I can't wait for more. This series has so much personality and spunk you can't help but enjoy the ride!

I'll preface my review by saying I absolutely loved the vampire and demon-focused books of the IAD series. 10/10 for those. But for some reason I just can't love the werewolf/lykae ones as much as everyone else seems to, and I truly want to. This book in particular I think was the worst of the lykaes and the worst of the IAD series. I'm not as emotionally invested in this as I was with Cole's previous books. I think it started off good, the first half was great. Second half of the book became too... dare I say it?, boring. It became all about the adventure, about Lucia's personal quest, etc etc. I just find Lucia's story uninteresting. And yes, she was a bit of an annoying character, I couldn't feel anything for her. I think Garreth was fine for the most part but as mentioned he's not one of my favourite Cole heroes by a long shot (give me a Wroth brother or demon ANY day). This book overall was also quite tame in the "heat/erotica" department, as compared to her other books. I've never had to skim through a Kresley Cole book before until now, it saddened me. haha. Because I still love her to bits, she's still an auto-buy no matter if it's about a vampire/witch/werewolf/whatever. Good thing her next book is about a vampire-demon hybrid - it HAS to be awesome, it just has to.

Dang, Lucia and Garreth. Scottish Lykae Prince. #1 Archer of the Valkyries. He could have any woman he wanted, yet what he started to long for was a challenge. He found it in the athletic virgin Lucia. This man chases her all over the world, literally. Now that's dedication.

Kresley Cole's story telling skills are absolutely top-notch.
The Pleasure of a Dark Prince starts at a breakneck speed & refuses to relinquish its hold on your psyche throughout the entire story.
Garreth is the Dark Prince and Lucia is the Archer. Both are powerful personalities. This is their story and you will not be able to put in down.

In A Hunger Like No Other, Kresley Cole introduced us to the incomparable couple of Lachlain MacRieve and Emmaline Troy. In Pleasure of a Dark Prince, Cole continues the story with Garreth, another equally likeable and lick-a-licious Lykae who also happens to be Lachlain's brother.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince seems more sumptuous in plot and visuals than previous novels, and Cole capitalizes on the innate banter that richly flows between the Valkyrie sisterhood, as well as the Lykae. You'll catch yourself laughing...frequently. The texting between Regin and Lucia, as well as the infallible Nix-isms is infectious and always delivers. It was definitely an enjoyable read, with the overall impression that more work went into plotting of this book. The key is mining back to that original story, and fans obsession with the Lykae, which I will admit, I am just as guilty of, as any other.

This time, Cole's arrow shoots true by continuing a story that remains on most readers and reviewers lists as their top favorite paranormal romance. The attraction between Garreth and Lucia is scorching hot and Cole has outdone herself with the whoopee scenes. Really, really sizzling! The stakes are higher, with Cole also hinting at the impending Accession in the Lore, and hot on everyone's heels. Action speeds up towards critical mass in Pleasure, but the characters have their own issues to deal with despite the impending cataclysm of warring supernatural factions.

Cole takes the reader back to the familiar territory of Val Hall in New Orleans, and the Lykae manse compound Kinevane in Scotland as Garreth tracks his Valkyrie/Skathian mate, Lucia the Archer. A new setting this time, Cole brings the characters to the wilds of the the store channeling some serious Dirk Pitt, William Race, and Lara Croft as Garreth and Lucia try to acquire the dieumort, an arrow that possesses the power to off a god. Lucia is desperate for this weapon of power due to the fact that the god they are trying to off is...her own husband, Cruach, aka Crom Cruach, The Broken, Bloody One.

For readers just discovering Cole, I highly recommend reading a Hunger Like No Other and Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night just to familiarize themselves with the Immortals After Dark series as well as the schism between Valkyrie, Lykae, Vampire Horde as well as Lachlain and Emma's story. Pleasure was a memorable, scrumptious read, that most likely I will read to tatters just like Hunger, especially since we have been left a Lore cliff-hanger of epic proportions. Greedily looking forward to what is revealed when Cole's next installment, Demon from The Dark is released!

I'm an admitted Kresley Cole fan but lately I've shied away from the series because of its predictable plot(see my review for Kiss of a Demon King) to the point I checked out "Deep Kiss of Winter" from the library.

Anyhoo, I bought "Pleasure of a Dark Prince" and like the others in the series I devoured it in two days. Was it really that good or my flight to Europe that long? I think a bit of both...

Overlooking the half-hearted glossing over of events from previous books, not quite hitting the mark on certain plot points, the heroine getting on my nerves with all of her secrets and some unneccessary or WTF? twists such as a transexual shape shifter, "Kiss of a Dark Prince" was a solid addition to the IAD series. Ms. Cole shook things up so much I had to keep reading:) I'll be looking for the next installment in the IAD series.

Kresley Cole has such an amazing talent that she was able to balance adventure, romance, and comedy completely in this wonderful book. Lucia, a Valkyrie, has sworn to never be involved with a man. Garreth, a werewolf, aka the Dark Prince, is a charming brawler. When Lucia's sent hits Garreth, he finds himself overjoyed that he had finally found his mate after a thousand years. But Lucia has other plans than to become a 'mate' to anyone. This book had me up on my toes, I just couldn't read fast enough. His chasing her around the world, had me chuckling to myself.

The book starts out before King Lachlain MacRieve of The Lykae Clan escapes from the fiery pit that the Horde vampires imprisoned him in. For more information about that as well as how he claimed his mate, Emmaline Troy, read A Hunger Like No Other.

Garreth MacRieve has taken the position as king of The Lykae Clan after this brother, Lachlain went missing. He has moved to New Orleans where he finally meets his destined mate, Lucia the Huntress. Lucia is a Valkyrie and it is well known that Valkyrie detest the Lykae. But Lucia has a hard time resisting Garreth. When he kisses her she feels herself surrendering to him but will always only take it so far. It is not the Valkyrie in her that is holding her back but a terrible secret. A millennium ago she was tricked into marrying an evil cannibalistic god who tortured her mercilessly. Finally when she was able to escape she was brought to the Skathi, goddess of the hunt, by her younger sister Regin. In exchange for saving her life and becoming a unmatched marksmen, Lucia vowed to be chaste. Every Accession (500 years) Lucia must also go to her husbands tomb and kill him before he rises. This is why she cannot mate Garreth. If she was to have sex with him she would lose her identity and reveal a secret on her sister Regin knows. Instead of telling him this she decides to run from him. Bad judgment call because Lykae live for the chase.

Lucia has set out to find a dieumort, or a god killer. She heard there is one if the form of an arrow. She plans to find it and use to to kill her husband once and for all. Her journey takes her down the the store river where her persistent Lykae finds her. He is set on not leaving her side and will help her find the dieumort even if she still holds secrets from him. In the the store they come across deadly creatures, a mysterious shape shifter and vampire with an unknown agenda. Finding the dieumort is not the only concern Lucia has once the magical band holding Garreth's beast at bay is lost in the river on the night of a full moon when nothing will keep a Lykae from is mate.

I really like Lucia and Garreth is one of my favorite characters in the series. The Valkyrie tend to be set in there ways when it comes who they are not supposed to like but Lucia was more open minded then her sisters. I wish she would have told Garreth from the start why she couldn't be with him but then I guess the book would have gone in a whole different direction. I felt bad for him because first he thought his brother was dead then once he finally finds his mate, she runs from him. She didn't just run either. There was an incident with a lumber truck and another one with a warehouse full of firecrackers that would have made lesser men give up (or die). I thought it was so sweet when he named an unknown species of butterfly after her. Sure beats getting flowers doesn't it? Some familiar characters return including my favorite, Nix. She is definitely the type if you went out drinking with her, you would end up in a hotel in Mexico the next day wearing a poncho and not remembering what the hell happened.

This book was my favorite so far in the series. It moves at a fast pace, not always sure what is going to happen next or who is going to pop in and it has some great characters. Kresley Cole did not disappoint and the way she ended the book makes me very anxious for next installment. The next book in the series, Demon From The Dark, which will be out August 31st, 2010.

Garreth MacRieve, is the Prince of the Lykae and loyal to what family he has left. His doesn't take his position lightly. But when he encounters Lucia, a Valkyrie, he can't help himself. He knows she's his mate, even though she tries to persuade him otherwise. Their desire becomes too hard to deny just as they are caught up in a game of survival.

Loved these characters and loved this story!!

Summary: A DANGEROUS BEAUTY...Lucia the Huntress: as mysterious as she is exquisite, she harbors secrets that threaten to destroy her -- and those she loves.AN UNCONTROLLABLE NEED...Garreth MacRieve, Prince of the Lykae: the brutal Highland warrior who burns to finally claim this maddeningly sensual creature as his own.THAT LEADS TO A PLEASURE SO WICKED....From the shadows, Garreth has long watched over Lucia. Now, the only way to keep the proud huntress safe from harm is to convince her to accept him as her guardian. To do this, Garreth will ruthlessly exploit Lucia's greatest weakness -- her wanton desire for him.

No one, and I mean no one can spin a sexy paranormal tale like Kresley Cole. I have absorbed and loved every single one of her "Immortals After Dark" books and "Pleasure of a Dark Prince" was no exception. I love the sexy Scottish Lycae the best of all the immortal creatures. I hope there are second cousins and uncles that need matched up too, because I want more of the wolves.

It was very cool to finally get these two's story since we have seen them "together" since the beginning of the series. I liked that of all the characters these two seemed to want to be together and had the most tangible "excuses" not to. This story is filled with monsters, mayhem, and sexy sexy Werewolf/Valkyrie time, this book measures as a 10.0 on the steam scale and still manages to have an awesome plot. Loved it! But...now we have to wait and see what's up with the cliff hanger Ms. Cole left us with.

This book was more of a connector to other parts of the series. Although the two main characters crossed paths earlier in the series, I felt that this book was less than an ending but a bridge to the overall series. When it ended, it was happy but not ecstatic as the characters move closer to the accession.

I did like the building romance between the 2 and thought that they story was okay. But again, the overlapping events made it hard for me to slow down and enjoy and I found myself rushing to get to the next book.

I can't say what my favorite parts are without giving spoilers, so I'm going to be vague: I loved it!

I have been looking forward to Lucia's story since the beginning and Cole gave her a better back story then I could have hoped for (as always). This is one of those traveling books, and I hate that, but it wasn't so hard on me because they are on a boat most of the time...I don't know why that makes it better. The book also got some of my 5-star themes in there and so that makes up for any adventuring.

Loved the interpretation of the God of the Hunt, El Dorado, and Ramna 1/2. Loved (and missed) how intense each aspect of the story is. Loved when Lucia pealed the skin from her hands like gloves. Loved the boyband joke.

That's all I'll say!

Kreisler is a wonderful story teller. The book is intriguing with characters from the supernatural both good and evil. When she finishes the tell it leaves you hanging to see what happens in the next book.

This is not for the prim and proper nor for the under 18 group. Scenes are very explicit and graphic with little left to the imagination.

If you love sacrifice and the supernatural, you will love all of Kresleys books.

I look forward to each of Cole's installments of her Immortals After Dark series. The characters are usually very witty and entertaining. In Pleasure of a Dark Prince, she takes us back to the not-enough-visited Lykae. Garreth is the Dark Prince who doesn't want to be the king, even though his older brother has been missing for a very long time. On the other hand, we have Lucia, a Valkyrie, with an old dark secret. Lucia, at the age of of 16, left Valhalla against her godparents wishes to run off with a mysterious fellow she was secretly meeting. Over a thousand years later and she's still paying for her poor decision.

I thought the book was very well done. I really liked the changes in setting. The the store was a superb choice to join the couple up. I really liked the antidotes of how Lucia kept Garreth away for an entire year. I would definitely recommend this book. I don't believe you would even have to read others in the series to truly enjoy this, but I think after you read this one, you'll want to go back for the rest.

I liked the fact that this book is part of a series and you can read a little more of characters you have already read about in previous books where they were one of the two main characters or see them in their early appearances before you read the book that focuses on them. The romance scenes were great and I also enjoyed the addition of the supernatural side of the story.

I found this read to be a bit boring. I did not like Lucia's character much so that made it hard for me as a reader to care much about her. She spent so much time running from Garreth and focusing on her past. That 1 year chase she put Garreth through and then the the store...let's just say I would have left her alone a long time before. Garreth was an enjoyable enough character but I'm growing a little tired of the Lykae as well. Can I just say also I really dislike Regin as she seems very immature. The texts and things she says to Lucia seem ridiculous and don't fit in the the story well at all. I'm not following the series in order so I'm not sure where I will jump to next but I think I've had enough of these Valkryies for awhile.

I'm mystified by the bad reviews of this book, but note how there are very few. I found this book to be fabulous and quite interesting for all my anticipation. I adore the Lykae (werewolves) and am dying for the twins to get their own book(s?). Gareth was the first "real" Lykae to me. Lachlain had been imprisoned. Bowen had been mourning. Gareth, while wanting to shirk his responsibilities, was still a strong and relatively sane male. Lucia was less playful than her Valykrie sisters, but I could appreciate this and found it an fun way to take things. They make an interesting couple, given her distinct issue with the whole mate issue. While they aren't my favorite Immortals After Dark couple, I'm really curious about Lucia's parentage. It's mentioned, but only in the sense that she doesn't know it beyond her godly heritage (all Valkyries are born of three parents, their mother who was struck down bravely in the battlefield, then the two gods Wóden and Freya). As I'm writing after the next novel has been published, I can say that the implications in the end of this story are well handled in the next. I'm simply dying for the rest of that trilogy. Cole's books have only improved as she's written. I'm curious to see if anyone we meet here (besides the twins and other usual players) makes a reappearance further on down the line.

I almost didn't finish this book. I haven't read any of the other books in this series, so maybe that's why I didn't like it as much as the other reviewers. The first two chapters where boring to me and I ended up skipping a lot of the first part. Finally the story seemed to pick up and by the end I enjoyed the story. Probably not going to read any of the other books in the series. Not all books are for everyone and this one was not for me.

Garreth MacRieve is a Lykae who has been living a long time. He is called the Dark Prince because he is second in line to the throne to his Brother Lachlain MacRieve and has led a bit of a wild life. This book takes us back to the beginning of the series when Lachlain is still missing and Garreth thinks one day he will have to be king. He is tired of the easy girls and asks for a challenge - and oh boy does he get one. As he is playing a game of rugby, Lucia The Huntress happens to walk by on a mission. The moment he scents her, he knows she is his mate. Bruised, battered, and very dirty from his rugby game he catches up with her, ready to throw her to ground and claim her, with his wolf instincts coming to attention.

The Lykae and Valkyrie do not have a nice relationship to begin with, but things are going to be even harder for these two. Long ago, Lucia was tricked into marrying Crom Cruach, a very evil god. To save her life, she made a pact with the goddess Skathi who offers this: Freedom from Cruach and talented archery skills but she must remain abstinent, or all will be lost. One other condition is that every time she misses her target, she will experience extreme, unbearable pain. Having a very ambitious, sexy Lykae on top of her does not bode well for her vow. However, Lucia has been around a long time and is not about to let this Lykae break all she has worked for.

Now, every 500 years, Lucia must fight Cruach to make sure he stays in his prison. Lucia and her sister Regin have been hunting for a dieumort, a weapon that can kill gods. This is her foremost concern and she does not want Garreth to interfere. Lucia is definitely attracted to Garreth and finds it very difficult to resist him. She refuses to tell Garreth why she won't submit to him, although they both know they are each other's mates. Valkyrie are stubborn, and Garreth soon learns to what extent she will go to keep her promise to the Skathi. When the hunt for Cruach intensifies, Lucia is determined to win the battle, and Garreth is determined to help her.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince is a great book and really has cemented Kresley Cole as one of my favorite authors. I was a bit disillusioned after Kiss of a Demon King. But after reading her anthology, Deep Kiss of Winter and now this one, she is back in a big way!

Lucia is part of the Valkyrie and I love them. Her sister Regin and Nix play a big role in this book and they always bring lots of laughs. The Valkyrie are so set in their ways and they totally lack modesty which makes them excellent characters. Lucia is so stubborn, refusing to tell Garreth why she can't have sex with him. She tries to deny that she likes him for the most part, but being a werewolf, he can pick up her scent of arousal. When she melts into his kisses, he knows she wants him just as much as he wants her. But he becomes so frustrated with her as she keeps constantly pushing him away.

There is a tricky line in this book - Garreth pushing Lucia to give herself to him, even though she continually denies him. He could have easily crossed that line, but Kresley Cole doesn't let him. He acts with honor and morality, and even though his wolf wants to claim her with such ferocity, he does everything he can as a human, to keep his distance from her. He also knows Bowen, his cousin, lost a mate while chasing her. So he doesn't want to scare Lucia off -but he can't let her go without him either.

Garreth is a Lykae and darn it, once he finds his mate that is it. Period. You will see in this book what he goes through to be with Lucia. It is his loyalty that completely endears him to me (and to Lucia at the end). With his Scottish accent, and growly voice, you will be swooning. He says "bluidy" and "fook" and Lucia comes out "Lousha". He is totally, 100% alpha, but he is cute. He is very werewolf like, being that he is comfortable with his body.

"And what about... that?" She delicately pointed to his erection.

He made a big show of tucking his shaft straight up behind the waist of his jeans. She looked stunned to have seen the head of his cock before he pulled his shirt down. "Ah, lass, you've seen it before. Had your hands all over it."

The one little thing that bothered me at the end is that I think Lucia got out of her abstinence issue a little too easy. I was expecting more repercussions. That is not to say she had it easy at the end, and there is a nice little twist after the big battle that makes the ending even more sweeter.

Kresley Cole knows how to write foreplay too. Goodness the intensity of their lovemaking, even before they have sex is hot - naughty hot. Combined with her wonderful humor, really fun characters, and great action, Pleasure of a Dark Prince is you guessed it, a "Smexy Must Read"

This book was outstanding!Get this book, you will not regret it. Especially if you liked the original book in the series.I got addicted to this series with A Hunger Like No Other and although I have enjoyed each and every book that followed this is the only one that matched the first in passion, longing, intensity, and of course action. With the boat scenes I felt like this book even satisfies those of us pirate romance fans. Garreth made such a great hero. I couldn't get enough. Looking forward to the next in this series. I am definitely team Lykae over team Demon. Hopefully we will also get to see Lothaire's story at some point. This book was so consistent with the tone that was set in first two stories I could not put it down.

As a lykae fanatic, I loved Garreth since he first appeared in A Hunger Like No Other. His character lived up to every standard I want in the alpha male - possessive, passionate, and self-sacrificing. I cannot say the same for the female lead, Lucia. She seemed indecisive, ambivalent, unyielding, not someone I would want to be friends with. Garreth continually risked his life for Lucia but instead of confiding of her terrible first sexual experience, she threw his devotion and sacrifice back in his face and put him through hell.

The unrequited sexual tension got old after a while, the foreplay between the two was more like a game of gotcha, not at all sexy or exciting. This noble prince desserved so much better than the Valkyrie shrew.

Maybe the problem with this coupling, just like Bowen/Mariketa's, is stated in the book...when you mate beings who are "Other", the conflicts and differences present obstacles that prevent the pair from exuding chemistry. Lachlain and Emma were the exception because they both sacrificed for each other and their chemistry was smoking hot. Garreth/Lucia pairing seemed forced.

I was waiting eagerly for this book because I was hoping it would restore my enthusiasm for IAD series. However, I must bide adieu to this series and this author because this book was the final let down. I will always be thankful for the brilliant "A Hunger Like No Other", unfortunately, none of her subsequent IAD books made me hunger for more.

Ok let me say it now. Garreth, Lucia and PLEASURE OF A DARK PRINCE have leapt to my second favorite book out of this entire series (not surprisingly after Lachlain's book A HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER). OMG, what is it about Kresley and her Lykaes. She can write the hell outta their books and this is no exception. I was a bit worried because some of the recent books lacked...ummm how do I say OOOOOMMMMPPPFFHHH! Well Ms. Cole has gotten back on her horsie and rode this series right back into contention for me as one of the best out there. I hope she will continue to keep this level of quality up.

POADP was SEXY, FUNNY, ENGAGING, SAD AND A STRAIGHT UP HOOT. What woman wouldn't fall for a man like Garreth, and even though it took Lucia quite awhile to admit it after leading him a merry chase, it was all worth the wait. I read other reviews and one comes to mind that complained about the lack of heat in this book but IMO unless you're sitting on hell's stove where it can't get any hotter, you'd know this book was plenty hot. The tension was kept taut between Garreth and Lucia and the journey they take around the world added just the right touch for these Lorean characters to make it all believable. NOTE: It also appears the KC is setting up quite nicely a possible spinoff with the mortals-on-way-to-immortal humans in the book (Izabel/Charlie Ambos, Benjamin Rossiter, Marcus Damiano [if he survives...] and possibly Capt. Travis). It has been quite a while since a book made me snort and I think I managed a few snorts and guffaws every other chapter (Catching the boat in the the store, Nucking Futs Nix, Radiant Regin). Garreth's confidence, swagger and that frickin sexy brogue did me in. I also liked Lucia for Garreth. Some of the recent pairings have left me feeling a bit lukewarm but these two are made for each other. Now since I have carried on so much about how much I LOVED THIS BOOK, I won't bore you with a rehash of the plot suffice it to say, that if you have not yet, run and pick this story up. It is a keeper and Thank You Ms. Cole.

I love Kresley Cole's imagination. I always enjoy her books, they transport you to a world full of many different and fascinating creatures. The sex scenes are steamy and placed very well in her novels, not over done. Storyline's are fantastic.

Garreth's book is by far my favorite of the series. I find Lucia easy to relate to in a fictional world, and her actions rational. The attraction I find palpable from the beginning to end, and very funny in parts. I would recommend this book to anyone. This was my first book in the series (read out of order), but it was my favorite still to this day

Kresley Cole has done it again!!..This story tells us Kresley fans about how Lucia became such a great archer and fell for the sexy dark prince. Basically an intriguing story of cat chases mouse!
I can't wait until Kresley starts on my favorite Valkrie(Nixie)story, who also appears in this wonderfully written story!
As ususal the steamy love scenes are to live for!!...I tell ya lycan sensuality ( ohh boyy!!)
Hopefully you be as pleased as my best friend Tricee and I were reading this book!
Happy Reading!!!

I'm still reading this, but I had to stop & comment now. Even though I find both Lucia & Garreth to be pretty annoying (just TALK to each other!) & I haven't finished the story yet, I'm giving it 4 stars just for this one line that Lachlain says "Where can I get a wee mortal?" may be one of the funniest lines I have ever read.

I'm a huge fan of Cole's IAD series. I have been hooked since reading The Warlord Wants Forever and have been eagerly awaiting Lucia and Garreth's story since reading about them in A Hunger like No Other. Although there have been a couple of hints about the couple in previous books, we really didn't know much except Lucia was Garreth's mate and she was on the run from him.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince is Lucia and Garreth's story and it starts off when they first met, which occurs during the timeline of AHLNO. Garreth is despondent because his brother, Lachlain, has been missing for over a century and he's blowing off steam at an annual rugby match between the Lykae and Demons. It's actually the anniversary of his brother's disappearance so Garreth's taking the game a bit more seriously than most. However, during the game he senses his mate, Lucia, and the chase is on!

Lucia is attracted to Garreth at first sight, but she can't take advantage of the attraction between them because she made a vow to stay chaste. In the Lore, Lucia is renowed for her archery. She's known as the archer and being an archer has defined all she is. What we learn in this book is the reason she gained such a skill and why she actually needs to be and is the "the best archer ever". Though she wants Garreth on a stick to have him is to risk...everything. Afraid she might give in to the overwhelming lust she feels for Garreth, Lucia flees and leads him on wily chase for over a year.

Eventually, Garreth catches Lucia in the the store (with some help from Nix--of course) and he's more than determined to keep his prize. Though Lucia still resists him and the attraction they share, Garreth has waited a long time for his mate and now that his brother, Lachlain, has returned (read AHLNO) he can afford to be a bit more patient with her. Nevertheless, the desire between them is so strong it isn't long before they both throw caution and patience to the wind.

I have to admit I'm usually enthralled by the romance and tension between the h/h in Cole's IAD books, but Pleasure of a Dark Prince didn't enthrall me like that. In fact, the book is much more action oriented then other IAD books and there is a "Tomb Raider" vibe throughout. Lucia even reminded me of Lara Croft with her dress (khaki shorts, white shirt, long dark hair, and big boobs) and side arm. Though, Lucia has a bow instead of two gloc nines!

Garreth and Lucia's trek through the the store is filled with mystery and peril, natural and unnatural. Plus, there are several characters introduced in this story that are intriguing. Also, there is a lot of world building about the Lore and the universe they inhabit. In truth, those parts of the story kept me more enthralled then the romance between the h/h. It's still a good book, but it's different than Cole's other books in the IAD series. That's not a bad thing. For me it just made the series more interesting.

At this point I could give away a lot spoilers, but that would ruin the book for those who haven't read it...but...if you want some spoilers...

Spoiler Alert!!!

At the end of the book, several folks from the good and bad side are kidnapped including the heroine of the next book who is Carrow Graie (I believe). The epilogue mentions a couple of sorceri who were kidnapped as well. I'm thinking those two Soceri are Lanthe and Sabine from Kiss of a Demon King. Plus, Regin and Lothaire were kidnapped by the same group who took Carrow. Also, someone took something from the the store that may have awaken a great new evil everyone in the Lore will have to deal with...or maybe just someone in particular.

Happy Reading!

I really enjoy reading this series and KC has added another good book to the series. Although this probably wasn't the best book of the series, avid readers of these books will not be disappointed. IMO, this book was way too long because the first 150 pages of the book was more of a review from Garreth's and Lucia's point of view. When I was reading these pages, I kept thinking this sounds familiar. I pulled out my copy of A Hunger Like No Other and there were a lot of similar scenes. I felt that the story didn't really start rolling until after the first 150 pages because that was when it finally just became about Garreth and Lucia. Overall, the story was enjoyable to read.

K. Cole does a wonderful job of blending romance with mythical lore and action. Her books are a cure for those suffering from Anita Blake withdrawal. I love her strong kick-ass heroines who always have witty Buffy-isms to impart on their enemies before dispatching them. And the men....I would never have considered a demon as a romantic proganist, but Cole has convinced me.

Cole has taken a single sequence of events and spun it into several books based on the different perspectives of various characters. This is a creative choice and allows the IAD fans to revisit their favorite characters and observe old scenes with a new twist.

As for the Dark Prince; I read this book in less than 2 days because I couldn't put it down! Now, I'm reading it again to pick up on any nuances that I missed as I excitedly charged through the book for the first time. I've always wondered what would happen if an intended Mate ran from her werewolf. Cole alluded so many times that they like the chase but never elaborated on this fact. She finally delivered and whoa, the interaction is HOT!!

I know that the "great misunderstanding" is the most overused plot device in Romance novels as it helps create conflict between the two main characters, but I really wish that Lucia had told Garrick why she couldn't consumate the joining early on--and by that I mean the ENTIRE story. Just think of the direction that the story could have taken and the number of adventures that they could have undertaken. The chemistry between these two is amazing. I love how Garrick treats her as a worthy adversary, not as a delicate piece of fluff. My favorite lines were Garrick's declaration of lust, "I---LIKE---You" after getting floored by Lucia, as well as his not regretting violating her personal space and getting his rear handed to him each time.

This was a gratifying read and a keeper. Happy Hunting!

Many entries in Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series take place concurrently. Thus, the charcters may know less than the readers. Sometimes this unique approach works (with the Woede brothers, for example), and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't work, it's really bad because it's Boring. Cole's story in Deep Kiss of Winter drove me bonkers, partly for this reason. Catch-up sucks.

The first third of Pleasure of a Dark Prince suffers from this problem--I KNEW what happened/was happening with Lachlain, Emma, Mariketa, Bowen, and company, but Lucia and Garreth didn't. They agonized over the fate of other characters while I tapped my fingers and waited for the new story to take off. I prepared myself for disappoinment. BUT BUT BUT....

When Cole lets Lucia and Garreth's story happen, WOW, it's excellent: Sexy-sweet wolf meets tough yet sensitive valkyrie for jungle romp to save the world. It doesn't get better than that!
I liked the secondary characters, even those with big glaring neon arrows indicating future story. Cole bounced back from the Murdoch/Danni debacle (ice crystals and friction = not sexy) and reminded me why I love this series! So despite the slow start, I give this one 4 stars, and I eagerly await the fate of Lothaire, Carrow, and Regin the Radiant--when do we finally get to meet her berserker???

I think this may just be my favorite in the series! There's mystery, suspense, humor, and let's not forget the "romance". Lucia's background was intriguing, and Garreth is just a mate to die for. This is the first of the series that I've read, and I have to admit, so far, its my favorite. I think, maybe, its because of that hot, heady, cruise down the the store. A steamy vacation where you don't mind getting hot. And yeah, where I live it snows way too much.

I absolutely loved this book! Garreth MacRieve is now hands-down my favorite hero! Talk, dark, and sexy with a wicked sense of humor and a cocky attitude I absolutely adored! Protective, kind, and caring - I can't say enough about this alpha male with a heart of gold!

I also liked Lucia: strong, courageous and spunky - she showed just enough vulnerability to make her very likeable.

The witty dialogue between these two was great! I found myself laughing out loud several times throughout the book and the love scenes - OH MY! I savored each and every one of them! Wow!

I had started to lose a bit of interest in the IAD series before this book but now it's definitely back to being my favorite paranormal series! The ending promises more great stories by this amazing author!

Though I would still recommend reading "Pleasure of a Dark prince" (if you have already read the preceding books in the series) I have to say it was my least favorite installment so far.

Instead of Paranormal Romance it seemed more like Paranormal/Horror Romance. I don't mind a little gore in my books but the scenes surrounding the god called the "Broken Bloody One" was a complete turn-off to me as they were just a little too detailed and disgusting for me (I don't care to envision a character with maggots, pus and blood on him in my romance novels).

As for the characters, I really liked Garreth but I didn't care too much for Lucia. She seemed a little too cold and lacking in the personality department. Also, though it has the usual quota of sex scenes I felt it was lacking in the romance department. There just didn't seem to be the usual spark and passion between the couple that usually draws me in and makes the story exciting.

This is by far my favorite book of the series. (Followed closely by Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night and Dark Desires After Dusk.) I thoroughly enjoyed Lucia and Garreth's story. The character development is great and I definitely enjoyed the glimpses of other characters throughout the book. I the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger...and has you waiting for more. Can't wait until the next installment of IAD.

I absolutely LOVE Kresley Cole and all her books, paranormal or not. Pleasure of a Dark Prince is another fabulous installment to the IAD series. I believe other reviewers have well-summarized the plot, so I'll focus on my own thoughts. I love that the series is happening concurrently with so many books occuring during the same time frame. The action is non-stop, the love scenes are hot, and the characters are endearing. I have having to wait 9-12 months for the next adventure!

***Spoiler Alert***
Lucia and Garreth are a great couple, but the reason I only gave it four stars was that the end seemed to come too fast. She guards her virginity the whole book, thinking that her gift relies on it, only to lose said virginity and have it be no big deal after all. That kind of irritated me. However, the book is very strong plot-wise and otherwise, and I highly recommend the whole series to any PNR fan.

After a millenia of waiting, Garreth MacRieve, brother to the King of Lykae, has finally found his mate, a wee Valkyrie Archer named Lucia the Huntress. Only problem is that the little lass wants nothing to do with him. So the brooding Werewolf waits and gives Lucia time to adjust to her fate. Soon Garreth's patience wears thin, with every passing full moon his Instinct screams for the need to claim his mate. But Lucia has no time for seduction, no matter how tempting. The secretive female cannot allow the brawny Lykea to distract her from her mission. As the accession draws near, a period when immortals fight and destroy each other, it falls to the expert Archer to annihilate an incomparable evil. So Lucia resists and flees Garreth, leading him on a merry chase around the world. But this Lykea is not known as the Dark Prince for nothing and the determined Werewolf vows that he will not rest until he claims this maddening creature for his own. But when Garreth finally captures his mate and they both succumb to their desires will the secrets that are uncovered forever keep them apart?

The Immortals After Dark is one of my favorite paranormal series and Pleasure of a Dark Prince is an excellent addition. This ninth book could be summed up by one phrase "nothing good ever came easy" cause Cole really puts poor Garreth through the ringer to get his mate! Though not much was revealed in previous books about this duo, this book manages to tie up all loose ends nicely by beginning before A Hunger Like No Other (and forward) and by filling in all the missing blanks between Garreth and Lucia the readers were left with. So reading the prequels is not necessary (you'd seriously be missing out on some great books if you did). I'll skip the details but suffice to say that I found the characters to be well drawn, the romance steamy and the action, well it just kept on coming! Cole's paranormal world is like a nonstop frat/sorority party and a Lord of the Rings movie on crack rolled into one. Totally addictive. It's funny, ridiculous, creepy and dangerous while delivering a hot swoony worthy romance. My only complaint is that some scenes and locations in Dark Prince were suspiciously similar to previous books. Other than that its an excellent book sure to please any paranormal romance reader. Its a keeper!

btw- the epilogue is a HUGE tease! Please I need to know if Lothaire will get his own book and who is his mate!

The ninth book in this series, Pleasures of a Dark Prince, is about Garreth MacRieve, the dark prince of the Lykae (werewolves) and Lucia the Huntress, a Valkyrie who is the world's most skilled archeress. Kresley has written another engaging a couple who may lust for each other until they ache, but makes sure the reader keeps in mind that attraction doesn't necessarily mean true love and that these two must get to know one another through communication and respect first.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince begins right before the events in the first book in this series, A Hunger Like No Other. Garreth, the current king of the Lykae, and his clan have come to reside in Louisiana. The half-mad Valkyrie soothsayer Nix sends Lucia on a mission to get rid of some pesky kobold demons that are also in the area. What Lucia doesn't know is that Garreth is her mate and he can scent her while he plays a rousing game of Rugby. He's been waiting a lifetime for her and when a Lykae finds their mate, they will stop at nothing until they claim them, which means the most intense mating experience ever. After Garreth witnesses Lucia's great archery techniques, he is both equally turned on and astounded. Now the chase is on, or rather Garreth will respectfully court her because he doesn't want to end up like another one of his Lykae clansmen, Bowen, (hero from Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night, book 3) who is close to turning into a mindless feral beast.

Even though Lucia is very attracted to Garreth, especially because of his Scottish accent and the way he pronounces her name as Lousha, she can't be claimed or romanced by this wolf lothario. Lucia must remain chase because she sacrificed herself to the goddess Skathi who gave Lucia her archery skills after she was saved from a fate worse than death when she was sixteen. Lucia was the victim of Cruach, a very nasty and evil individual. As long as Lucia remains abstinent, she will be able to defend herself from Cruach, also know as the Broken Blood One, who rises every five hundred years during the Accession and searches for Lucia so he can claim her once again. If Lucia has sex, she'll lose her archery skills and will be vulnerable to an attack from Cruach.

Garreth has no clue about any of this and thinks if he can seduce Lucia, everything will be great and they can go off and create Lykae Valkyrie babies together. Garreth can't understand why Lucia doesn't want to be with him because he can sense her need and knows she enjoys the foreplay they have together. But she's weak when it comes to Garreth and if they keep playing the slap and tickle game, she'll be Cruach bait. She runs away and goes off to join the Accession games, and for a year Garreth is one step behind Lucia, tracking her, as well as protecting her.

As the games come to an end, Lucia is sick with worthy. Not only is she having horrible nightmares, which always happen whenever the Bloody Broken One is about to rise, but she still has to deal with Garreth. Nix has sent her to the the store where she may finally find a way to kill Cruach for good. She has to search for an arrow called a dieumort, which is the only weapon that can kill a creature like him. What she doesn't count on is Garreth finding her, climbing aboard her boat, and pretending to be her husband where he'll introduce her to even more heavy duty make out sessions. She just has to make sure she doesn't have sex with him and since he cares about her well being, he respects her wishes, but all for a specific price. Lucia and Garreth become unwilling partners and Garreth is beyond frustrated both in body and heart because Lucia keeps denying him and won't tell him her secrets.

Kresley is superb at building the tension between Garreth and Lucia in such a way you suffer along with both of them. Lucia gives Garreth a merry chase where he becomes a very different person by the end of this story. But the one thing Kresley makes very certain with Garreth is that he's a total gentleman. Even though Garreth is aching to claim Lucia, he doesn't go the whole distance when it comes to their love making. Even when Lucia begs him to take her, he won't. Nothing screams romance more than a hero who is willing to sacrifice his own pleasure for that of his one true love. These two have the most excellent foreplay scenes, and the first 50 pages or so will have you wanting to take a cold shower. And Garreth is quite the giver in every way even after Lucia shoots him with a few arrows. This is a man who is willing to get down on his knees for a small taste of Lucia's attention.

We are also given great insight into Lucia. She is one of the most subdued of all of Kresley's female characters and very loyal to her Valkyrie sisters. She is also close to being a tortured heroine because of her unfortunate past and the way she feels about herself. But, she refuses to be a victim although she thinks her only importance is because of her archery skills. It takes Garreth to show her that she doesn't have to stand all alone and can rely on him to help her.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince has everything you could want. Great action, luscious love making scenes and a few sneaky twists and turns you won't see coming. The ending alone will have you dying for the next book. I've also come to the realization that the character of Nix is possibly the most important one in this whole series. She is the one responsible for all of these character's destinies and uses them much like chess pieces on a board so she can reach her ultimate goal. Pay very close attention to whenever Nix pops up because it will give you insight on what is in store for her.

Pleasure of a Dark Prince is yet another winner where I bow down to the masterful storytelling of Kresley Cole.

I didn't care for Cole's last IAD offering-Kiss of a Demon King, because I found the leading lady rather unlikeable. That being said, this book is definately back to the original awesomeness of the series. If you are a fan of paranormal romance these books are a must see.

Kresley Cole delights readers once again with yet another amazing Lore tale, Pleasure of A Dark Prince. Lucia the Huntress is a fierce Valkyrie who has experienced love as a young girl but all was not as it seemed. She barely survives to enter into her immortality and becomes a fierce Valkyrie along with her sisters. She paid a high price to survive. She's confronted with Garreth, the womanizing highland warrior Prince reluctant to take his older brother's place as king of the Lykae. But he definitely recognizes Lucia as his mate. And with the Ascencion nigh, a kind of apocalyptic battle of immortals, can Lucia afford to give into her passion for Garreth when she has so much to lose? She's a runner, evading Garrett and leading him on a merry chase which royally pisses him off. He finally catches up to her in the the store - let the party begin. Hot, hot and hotter. Temps outside equal temps in the bedroom. Garreth is determined to keep his mate safe and help her in her quest to kill an evil god. But of course, he wants something too, using blackmail and whatever means at hand to get what he wants. And with Lucia keeping secrets from him, Garreth is not a happy mate. Their journey will lead them to an unimaginable culmination with so much suspense along the way, I couldn't put the book down! These two characters practically smolder off the page.

Kresley Cole has written another winner! Garreth and Lucia's story has been worth the wait. She has built a rich cast of characters, teasing us with Garreth and Lucia's story in her first book. As a bonus, we get catch up with Lachlain (Garreth's brother and the rightful Lykae king) and Emma (A Hunger Like No Other) and Bowen and Mariketa (Wicked Deeds On A Winter's Night). Mariketa has to be one of my favorites, she's too funny and cute in her avarice when it comes to business.

And what an epilogue! Yes, definitely - more of that please!

Great fast paced read! Couldn't put it down! Right up there with No Rest for the Wicked (my favorite book in the IAD series). Lucia is a strong capable heroine and Garreth is the super hot alpha male that is intent on making her his. The problem is that Lucia is on a mission and has a terrible past that she wants to keep secret. She is not interested in a relationship not to mention, she took a vow of celibacy that's tied to her past. The book is heavy on adventure which I love and the romance between Lucia and Garreth is scorching! LOVED IT!

I have read all seven books. And unfortunetly the plots are all the same. Guy sees his fated mate she rejects him he trys to impress her she isn't interested in him. He stalks her til she finally decides to say yes. Add a few steamy scenes in there with the occasional battle and there you have it Immortals After Dark Series. Its the same plot over and over except with different characters. It became too predicatible. And why is it no one ends up with their own kind? I'd love to see two badass vamps or demons get together...idk just saying...

Did I read the same book? I have read EVERY book in this series. Some are better the others, but this one was my least favorite. Didn't anyone think the Lucia was annoying? What about Garreth? I know he wanted a challenge, but come on!! This was not a challenge, this was hard labor/lust. Speaking of lust....Where was the romance? When did they fall in love? What's with the Laura Croft theme? And the ending...did Kresley run out of ideas?

Memo to Kresley Cole: I am still a fan and you will always be on my auto buy list. But, I didn't think this was one of your best in this series.

This was an amazing book and very well writen. I can say I was sad when I reached the end of the book. I love how in depth it was, the characters are well described and each have their own distinct personalities.

Oh my... Kresley Cole has done it again.Unable to put this book down,I was up late and tired the next morning. It was worth it. I love MacRieve's fierce love and loyalty for Lucia as well as his domineering lust for her. I can't wait for the next book...

I've read all these books and each one is a gem. This book is funny and exciting,I read it in one sitting. Kresley Cole can't write them quickly enough. I'll be taking these books on holiday and reading them again!!!!!!

well, i really love this author and i usually can't put her stuff down but, this one was just okay i didn't feel the passion between the two characters like with all the other books by her but if you like this author and this series you should read it anyway.

Although I have enjoyed this author's other books and I was eagerly awaiting this one, somehow I didn't get into it like all the previous books on this series, I had a hard time reading it and finished it cause I wanted to see the end. Maybe next book.

After reading HUNGER LIKE NO OTHER and having to wait years for Lucia's story just to get a boring read...it is just sickening. The previews for the next book is just plain stupid your going to but hoods over immortals heads like that is going to stop them. It reeks to much of her dear friend Gena Showalter where there going to round up characters just to fight them to the death like in Showalter's Vampire Bride which was another book that was so boring I just gave up on it. Really...find another book to read this one just stunk to high heavens.
