Reborn was on my wishlist because I enjoyed the Shadow Falls series, and I so wanted to be in Della's head. I love C.C.'s writing so far, and from what I have seen from Della as Kylie's best friend, I love her humor, her loyalty and her badassness.
Things get going pretty quickly, giving Della a mystery to look into with her family history and maybe figuring out if there was another supernatural in the family. Her parents and sister are norms, and she has to hide who she truly is. They are disappointed in her and think that she is just a teen getting in trouble and suspect she's doing drugs. Having the weight of that on her shoulders is hard on her and wishes that they understood. But she has made Shadow Falls her home, and the teachers and other people there her family so that is adding some balance.
She chases after a new person who she thought was a rogue when she first gets back to campus, and when she finds out he's not, they have started out on the wrong foot. He is infuriating and cute, and gives her a hard time. But she is also trying to figure out things with Steve, who she has some history and also major chemistry going on with. So, thus begins what I feel like might be another series long love triangle, but as I am writing up to this point at 15% we'll see how things shake out.
Turns out that things between the trio only gets more complicated as the story goes on. It was a fun one to read, and in the end no matter where Della's heart it, some things form a bond and those can't be broken. I love the layers in this and how even the things that don't seem to be connected end up playing a part into the story. There are several plot lines--her friendship with Miranda and Kylie, her cousin Chan, her family at home, Burnette and FRU work, as well as the whole love scenario.
While I loved reading from Kylie's perspective, reading from Della's is a whole other story. She is strong, she is smart and sarcastic, she has a harder time opening up to others but underneath she has this insecurity and vulnerability that she masks to the outside world. It stems from not feeling accepted at home, as well as having issues with how others view the rogue and violent vampires and the fact that she is one so she is all wrapped up in that one.
While I loved the message that women are strong, and while it is nice to be protected, if they can handle things, they should be allowed to, I think that the conversation she ended up having with Burnett like three or four times got a little repetitive. Which maybe its just realistic because sometimes men are just that hard headed and need to hear something that much for it to sink in. There were a few other things that I felt were done more than necessary to get the point across, but it really didn't annoy me that much, just thought that it was worth mentioning.
It was so fun to follow Della through this one, and watch her grow. She found herself doing things or saying things that she never really thought she would, and it stretches her in a good way. It shows her fight and will to succeed and make something of herself. She also learns that others besides Kylie and Miranda admire her and care for her more than she may realize and that she may need to open her heart a little more to let more in. She also has to face the age old quandary of when to toe or step over the line, and when it is just pure disobedience and that some actions just prove that you are immature and not ready for more responsibility instead of proving that you are ready for more.
The ending wraps up those story line pretty well for these while opening another thread that leaves me so hungry for the next book.

Bottom Line: Fast paced wild ride with strong and sarcastic Della, with layered plot, great romance as well as friendship.

Shadow Falls has ended, but I'm so HAPPY that Shadow Falls:After Dark was created!!! It's like I never left the word, more like I took a vacation until Reborn was ready. In Reborn its all about our Sassy Vampire Della! Do you remember all the crazy she dealt with when it came to Steve? Yeah well, he is in this book and then another guy shows up as well.....Let's say Della just can't outrun crazy when it comes to guys.

So Della is at her parents place. She has a dream and suddenly has this giant pimple on her neck. So then she learns of an uncle, who may or may not be like her. So obviously Della is going to look into this and hopefully it can be good news for her. After getting caught in her dads desk, Della goes home early.

The fun doesnt stop there! Della sniffs out a familar scent and leads to this vampire Chase, now he and Steve will be driving Della crazy. Though I'm sure you will love and laugh at these guys.

Want some more good news?! Kylie and Miranda appear and the three of them are acting like nothing has changed, well beside Della coming back early and spilling all that happened. So what shall this vamp do? Maybe relax on her first night back? Ha! When are any of these girls really relaxing? Della's stroll leads to meeting up with Steve, which isn't a first late night meeting. A crazy vamp goes by the camp and Della goes with Burnette to check out the situation. Della really wants another mission with the FRU, will this night prove she has what it takes? Well, if I know Della, it's to never underestimate her!

Shall I go on? Of course I will, I've got lots of juicy things to say about Reborn and all those in it, but I'll try not to spoil so much of the book (holding back is so hard).

So after a rough night, lack of sleep Della is cranky. Derek comes by with news, Steve was in her room, and she smelled Chase. Damn this vamp is everywhere! Then the best part of it all was when Kylie told Della of a visitor that she really isn't fond of. To add to this crazy, the campmate hour was crazy. Lots of blood donation for Della's time and one of them is Chris, yes my lovies another guy! Steve isn't around, so maybe Chris is also after Della, or maybe just wants company? These guys all going for Della? Well for someone who thinks she doesn't make many friends, suddenly has a few more. Does it stop there? Well.....not even close, but I'll let you read about her crazy day.

You know what would make Della happy? Kicking some butt, and boy she will, she just loves kicking butt. If Della existed, don't give her ducktape, don't mention ghosts, cause she will deal with more than one, don't leave her out because she is a girl, and a whole bunch of things that you'll read about what not to mention. Just remember Della is one heck of a vamp who should not be messed with (:

If you have followed Della and the girls through ShadowFalls, then you will fall in love with Reborn. Its like you never left and get to love Della a little bit more and wish ShadowFalls was a real place cause its just awesome. I loved the book from page one and I wouldn't put this book down for anything. I could picture everything going on and wanting to help Della and cried when the last page was read. I can't wait for Eternal to be in my hands and hope these books never end. Its one of those series you will always remember!

I give this book 5 stars!

Prior to reading this book, I actually read C.C. Hunter’s debut series Shadow Falls. I was neutral about the series, mainly because I disliked the main protagonist. However, Hunter really redeems herself with this spin-off to the Shadow Falls series. The female lead is way more likable character compared to Kylie from the original series.

Della Tsang, a teenage vampire full of wit and biting sarcasm (no pun intended), attends a camp/boarding school for troubled kids, a safe haven for paranormal teenagers. Even though she feels at home at Shadow Falls, she struggles with accepting herself as a vampire. Most of the vampires at camp are born vampires from vampire parents, while she’s a vampire that carried the V1 strain and was turned one. After turning she gained physical abilities supernaturals have, but because of her sudden strange behavior her parents mistake her attitude to be teenage rebellion. But she soon learns that her father had a twin brother she never knew about. She begins to unravel her family history and tries to learn the mystery of this dead uncle, in hopes that he’s alive and a turned vampire as well. All she seeks for is family that understands her.

In the process, she deals with other vampire and mundane problems. Along with her parents, she left behind her human friends and boyfriend after turning. Even though Della is the strong heroine readers love, she also carries scars from her past life that leads her skeptical and prone to avoid making relationships. She begins to open herself up more to the Shadow Falls family than before, including a good looking shapeshifter named Steve. But she also finds herself drawn toward the new vampire that has recently joined camp, Chase. With family and boy trouble on her mind, she also soon finds herself catching a fever, something almost unknown to happen within the vampire species. And with all this on her plate, she has to prove to her camp leader, also a FRU agent, that she’s worthy of working for the FRU (an organization that helps serve and maintain order within the supernatural community).

The main complaints I had were the writing. There were so many missing commas, I had to read through some parts several times to make sure I interpreted the text correctly. And I also found editing errors here and there, which weren’t too much of a big deal. But what probably bothered me most was the repetition and language. It wasn’t the good repetition we see in poetry but rather the bad use of repetition that our English teachers would tell us to avoid in our essays back in high school. Hunter had the tendency to use phrases such as “third finger salute” and “sucking face” way too many times. For some reason I find actual use of terms such as “flip off” or “kiss” used repetitively to be less annoying than the ones she used. Besides, her characters are older anyway, so they could have dealt with dirtier language. I suppose it’s good she’s keeping it PG rated for her younger audience (I feel like I was too young when I read Twilight). But she did use profanity in certain parts, so why not be consistent? Granted, I know some teenagers don’t swear, because I’m one of them, but in this case use of profanity would have been appropriate for her tough and spunky protagonist. I’m not advocating Wolf of Wallstreet language but leveling the language to her protagonist’s age and attitude would made her even more convincing.

Also the idea of a camp for supernaturals and the use of vampires isn’t too original, and some of the plot twists were predictable to some readers. Not so much for me because I’m pretty dense when it comes to that, but after thinking about it, it still seemed to easy to piece together even for my dense self. However, C.C. Hunter really makes up for it with the likable characters and Della’s character development. And usually I can’t take love triangles seriously, and I thought certainly if another love interest appeared in a C.C. Hunter book I would set it down (since Hunter made almost every guy fall for Kylie in the last series), but she weaves Chase’s role quite well and makes him an important element for the development of Della’s character and the overall plot.

Another point I want to make is that I strongly recommend reading the Shadow Falls series first, even though I didn’t enjoy it as much as I did with this one. For the most part Hunter covers the basic details of the camp and supernaturals, but a lot of Della’s background information comes from Shadow Falls series.

So after writing this review, I realized I had more complaints than I thought I would have. Despite the many flaws, it was still an enjoyable read. I’d give it 3 stars.

Today I’m finally moving on to a new series by C. C. Hunter. If you have read my Sunday mini review book review edition, you should know that I spoiled a lot of things for my by first reading Spellbinder. It was not that I spoiled everything, but my feeling that I was looking for what should have come, kept nagging at me! I again advise you, do not read Spellbinder as part of Shadow Falls series; it’s a definite Shadow Falls After Dark story. I’m more with the idea after I read Reborn. But let me end the nagging and get back to the book.

It was awesome. I always liked Della in previous books, and I finally got to see her fully from different sides. She was not your favourite? How come? You are not making a mistake, right? Della Tsang – the sassy, stubborn, sarcastic and the always pissed off vampire. Ah, so you remember now! And here I thought we weren’t on the same page. Sorry for ever doubting you. Well, if you wanted to know her better here’s your chance, because Reborn is all about Della and her some crazy problems. Okay, not all about Della, we get to see our other favouirte characters – Kylie, not a, Miranda, Burnett, Holiday, even Derek. Sorry he’s not on my favourite list. But we get to see a lot of Burnett, and as always he’s the best with his over protectiveness and “Chauvinistic pigginess”. Sorry, I just wanted to recite this, this was just all too fun her coming first from holiday and then Della.

Is the book full of action? Of course, don’t forget its Della’s story and she’s always out there to kick some one’s ass. And she seriously starts doing it from the very first pages. Is there love in the air? When is it not? Okay, it’s never near me, but we are talking about Della now, not me. If Kylie’s problems were the biggest ones there, comparing to Della’s it’s just some pretty stuff. Della, being Della the boy problems take another turn absolutely, and with her finally agreeing to date one guy and being bonded to another one? The second book has to be lots of fun! Literally and figuratively speaking!

If you were a fan of Della in the previous book, this one is right for you. Dive into new mysteries and secrets that the supernaturals have to offer you. You won’t be disappointed. I wasn’t! Enjoy the first book in the trilogy to its fullest and don’t forget to share your thoughts below!

When we last left Della, she was trying to get in with the FRU, the enforcers of the supernatural world. She had finished her first case with shapeshifter Steve. She got hurt so Burnett is reluctant to put her on another case.

Reborn starts off a few weeks after the original Shadow Falls series ends. While Della and Steve had gotten close in Saved at Sunrise, Della attempts to push him away in Chosen at Nightfall. On Kylie’s advice Steve decides to fight for Della. Every time she pushes, he bends. If it is space that she wants, he will give it. Just as long as he gets to spend time with her, he is happy-or is he?

Della soon gets put on a new FRU case this time with a new vamp, Chase. Chase knows that there is something going on between Della and Steve. He just doesn’t care. To round of Della’s stress, she of all people has a ghost following her around. Trying to warn her of something.

Della is kept busy- the case, the guys and the ghost all take up a lot of her time. She discovers a hidden secret in her family that she tries to investigate in her spare time. Then she gets sick- really sick, which is weird since vamps aren’t supposed to get sick.

Della regardless of the tests that are thrown her way continues to fight- it is what I admire most about her. Her parents literally suck, yet she still keeps going back to them in the hopes that they will learn to accept her. She keeps her head up, continues to do battle on all ends. Never once even entertaining the thought of quitting. Steve looks out for Della throughout the book and continues to worry over her.

Reborn has romance sprinkled on top of an action-packed adventures. Della’s faithful friends, Kylie and Miranda, are there to have her back and to call her out when needed. Reborn is a must read for all paranormal fans.

My Rating 5 out of 5 stars

Favorite Quote “We could kiss and show them how it’s done,” a deep Southern voice said at her ear.

Other People
Kylie- Della’s chameleon roomie and best friend
Miranda- Della’s witch roomie and best friend
Chase- Della’s partner in her FRU case
Holiday- overseer of the camp
Burnett- vamp and FRU overseer off the camp, Della’s mentor

REBORN is an absolute must-read addition to C.C. Hunter's world of Shadow Falls, one that doesn't require a read of the earlier books. This first novel in the new spin-off series, told from Della Tsang's point of view, is a captivating, fun and exciting read with a number of puzzles to solve, a snarky, stubborn, fierce but very likable heroine, two swoon-worthy paranormal boys, and an ending that is a game-changer for one of its characters.

Things for Della Tsang were bad enough without having abilities that seem to be on the fritz, a ghost that may or may not have attached itself to her, a cold that won't go away, a super hot vampire that won't leave her alone, a sexy shape-shifter that wants more than she is willing to give, a cousin that is MIA, and a camp leader that seems dead set on stopping her from working as an agent with the Fallen Research Unit.

But of course that's not all that's going wrong. Her father has been keeping secrets that could change everything for her. She may have competition for the boy she is trying desperately not to fall for. She can't stop being drawn toward the boy she doesn't even like. Oh, and someone may be out to get her, for what reason she has no idea. She just hopes things can't get any worse.

C.C. Hunter delivers a story that will keep readers hooked. The writing has an easy flow that makes the pages fly. The story has all the characters that readers have come to know and love and introduces new ones that are sure to be favorites in books to come. The narrator is flawed but relatable, grumpy and yet still adorable. The plot is engaging, and with a number of questions that need answers it will be a story readers won't want to put down until they have them.

Readers looking for a story that will keep them entertained from start to finish, with characters they will easily connect with, a storyline that offers mystery, humor, and a touch of romance, will thoroughly enjoy REBORN. It's an immensely appealing read, whether new to the series and its characters or an existing fan, and the perfect start to the Shadow Falls: After Dark series.

Reborn is the first book in the new Shadow Falls: After Dark series by C.C. Hunter. It's a spin-off series, and I definitely recommend reading the Shadow Falls series first. This book is about Della – a teenage vampire. She attends Shadow Falls, a camp for supernatural teens. Della kind of has things rough. Her parents don't know that she was turned into a vampire – they think she's doing drugs or something, and she doesn't know how to explain her odd behavior. Her family is cold toward her, and that is heartbreaking for Della. However, she has a badass image to uphold so she doesn't let people know how much things bother her.

Luckily, Della has some great friends at Shadow Falls. She even has a couple of guys vying for her attention. She's been hurt in the past, and is determined not to be anyone's girlfriend. She can't help but to have feeling for Steve though. He is a handsome shapeshifter that is very sweet and caring. They've kissed and he wants them to be a couple. Della is very independent and headstrong though, and she is scared of making any sort of commitment. Then Chase enrolls at Shadow Falls and has his eyes set on Della. He is a hot vampire, but he is mysterious and cocky and Della is determined not to like him. He is definitely keeping secrets. Then Della is sent on a mission with Chase to catch a murdering vampire, and they get a little too close for comfort. Della is very confused on how she feels.

There is a lot going on in this book. Not only is there romance involved, but there is a lot of mystery and action. With dangerous missions, trying to find family she didn't know about, and even death – this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. I'll admit that it started a bit slowly, but after awhile I had trouble putting the book down.

This is a young adult book, but had some slight adult content. No sex scenes or anything, but there was talk about sex and there was a little bit of cussing. Nothing that a normal teenager hasn't heard before. Honestly, when I read a young adult book that is squeaky clean it makes me feel like I'm reading a middle school aged book. I think the content in this was just the right amount to make it seem believable.

I love Della's snarky humor and sarcasm. All the characters are great. I'm really, really looking forward to the next book. It's called Eternal and is supposed to come out in October. I can't wait to see which guy Della chooses. Right now, I'm Team Steve – but there's still a lot we don't know about Chase. I totally recommend this series of you like young adult books, but like I said – start with the Shadow Falls series first!

This is an eARC review, I received the eARC from the publisher via NetGalley.

I really enjoy reading Reborn, Della is strong and an interesting character to read about that really draws me into her story. This book is easy to follow, full of mysteries that you couldn't help but to wonder what will happen next.

Since I haven't read the Shadow Falls series, I am not familiar with Della's character. The book started with Della at home for parents' weekend. Della was sad and miserable because her family doesn't know she is a vampire, they thought she was rebellion and basically a trouble teen. Her father especially doesn't even acknowledge her existent. Then she discovered that her father had a twin and supposedly "die" a long time ago. However, Della wasn't convince, she think her uncle was "turn" into a vampire and faked his dead. Given that vampire virus is genetic, she decided to investigate her uncle's dead and past.

Della is quite sensitive and feels strongly responsible to her family and friends, which often affects her mood greatly. Her estrange family situation, her possible distant vampire family, her cousin's death, and the brutal crime happened right outside of Shadow Falls committed by another vampire. Quite a lot happened in this book that mostly directly related to Della. But instead of reach out for help, letting other to share her pain, Della mostly endured them alone. I can see Della is learning to trust her friends, learning to open her heart to another again. I thought Chase was a great match for her, he go out his way to draws Della out of her shield. Although his motive is still questionable at this point.

There is a love-triangle in this book, however since the books doesn't focus on her romance, so it didn't overwhelm with the story.

I do have a pet peeve about names, I thought the "Asian" names in this book were quite generic if not stereotypical. "Chan" is actually a very common Chinese Surname, so it was weird that was Della's cousin's name. I do like that Della was half-Chinese, although she was described not having much Chinese feature, in fact in the book it said Della was nothing like her father. It was still nice to see a little diversity though.

I kept wondering what's the connection between the title of the book and the story, though we don't find out until very end of the book. However, it is quite interesting when its revealed that I wonder what will it mean for Della. (also Della and Chase).

I really enjoyed Della's story, and am look forward to read the next one!

Happy reading!

Fallowing the main book on the Shadow Falls series we came to know the story of the amazing Della Tsang. I was so happy when i found she had a story and what a story it was.
it was powerful, sad and emotional t times. she is miss understood and all she ask was for a bit of love. after suffering so many heart breaks is hard for her to trust anyone. Anyone besides Kailey and miranda thats it. and being confused about her feelings or steve or chase. And now on top of it all she had to fight this sickness that could kill her. can she survive this?

Reborn opens with a heartbreaking visit home where Della once again experiences rejection, mistrust, and unjust accusations from her family. She also finds a few eye-opening clues about others in her family who might have shared her fate leaving her anxious to trace their whereabouts and what actually happened to them.

Reborn is book one in this spin off of the Shadow Falls series and takes place back where all the prior action and adventures left off. Not having read the prior series, left this reader with a curiosity about the world building, which somewhat dimmed the enjoyment of the read with a feeling that much was missed. However, this was a fun adventure with great characters that keeps you entertained and getting to know Della, who at times was a bit annoying with her impatience, was a fun journey.

As the story progresses we glean a better understanding of what drives Della resulting in enjoyment of her sharp wit, ambitious nature, as well as her tender heart, and I found myself liking her very much.

The writing is smooth and allows for relaxing reading with just enough tension to keep the reader on your toes wondering what is around the next corner. In this readers opinion the story would have offered a richer experience had the prior works been read first thus being able to reap all of the benefits of the obvious prior world building that has occurred; however, I would definitely recommend Reborn to upper YA readers and those young at heart who enjoy a read with a bit of young adult angst and dilemmas, as well as a paranormal mixup bringing a taste of a little something new to the banquet. I received this book from NetGalley.

Reborn by C.C. Hunter is a spin-off series of the Shadow Falls books. The fun characters from the Shadow Falls series are back in the new After Dark books, plus a few new characters have been added. Della is still spunky, but she is trying to tone it down and be kinder to others. The book begins when Della becomes heartbroken after visiting her family. They send Della back to Shadow Falls after her father thinks he catches her sneaking a bottle out of his liquor cabinet. She was actually looking for photos of his family that he has hidden in the cabinet. C.C. Hunter placed a mystery within this supernatural story, just as she has in her other books and it adds another level of interest. I would have given this book five stars, but it makes me sad to see typographical errors in published books. There aren't a lot of errors, but enough to knock the rating down.

Della Tsang is the definition of tough and sassy. Even though vampires are known for their unyielding attitudes, Della is the poster child for hiding a tender heart behind a steel exterior.
She's determined to prove herself to Burnett and earn a spot working for the FRU (Fallen Research Unit), the FBI of the supernatural world. When a young couple is found murdered a few miles from camp, Della gets her chance to prove her worth. This time nothing will distract her - not Steve, the hunky shape-shifter who caught her eye, and definitely not Chase, the mysterious new vampire at Shadow Falls.
While working hard to solve the case (and keep two gorgeous guys at bay), Della discovers her father is keeping secrets that can change her entire world. Torn between wanting a loving family unit and honoring her parents wishes to leave the past alone, Della must make a choice that not only impacts everyone she cares about but also puts her own life on the line.
REBORN is the first full-length novel in C.C. Hunter's Shadow Falls: After Dark series. The regular cast of characters from Shadow Falls return, adding depth and humor to this new series and giving fans a chance to catch up with old friends. The majority of the story, though, is focused on Della and the challenges she faces embracing her future as a vampire while letting go of all things tied to her once perfect life as a human. Hunter does a wonderful job balancing Della's inner-turmoil with plenty of mystery, suspense and fast-paced action. Readers will be glad the Shadow Falls series back with REBORN.

I want to start off by saying how much I love all of C.C. Hunter’s books. Ever since the first book I read of hers (Born at Midnight), I have been hooked. I devoured every book so far and can’t wait for Eternal (Shadow Falls: After Dark Book #2).
Reborn is the first novel in Shadow Falls: After Dark. Shadow Falls: After dark follows Della, the best friend of Kylie Galen (the main protagonist in Shadow Falls Series). Shadow Falls is a camp for paranormal teenagers (Vampires, werewolves, shapeshifters, faes). All the main characters from Shadow Falls Series is still in the books (Kylie, Miranda, Derek, Lucas).
Della is a vampire whose only relative knows the truth about her has somehow disappeared, causing Della to dives further into her family’s heritage and tries to find more relatives that may be vampire. A mysterious vampire named Chase shows up at Shadow Falls and vies for her attention. Steve, a shapeshifter, has been trying for a long time to gain Della’s trust and claim her as his girlfriend. But when Della’s life is at risk and the only way to save her may destroy Steve’s chances with her, he still determinedly tries to save her, even if it means losing her. But as always, C.C. Hunter finds a way to keep the love triangle going and Della still has feelings for Steve. (Even if she tries to deny them.)
I can’t wait for Eternal, the second book in the Shadow Falls: After Dark Series.
As usual, C.C. Hunter rocked this book and I am still counting down the days until Eternal. (12 days!)

This book is the extension of the Shadow Falls series. It's about the vampireeeee, Della Tsang. Don't get me wrong, I love Kylie, but the main Shadow Falls series was quite.... boring. But THIS, this series is awesome. Okay, basically, this series is about Della, who has had a rough time at home. Her parents don't know who she really is, and hence, thought of her as a druggie rebel. Her life had always been about her kickass self, and knowing to be tough as nails. But falling for her on-and-off boyfriend, Steve was not in the cards. And then, a new hot boy entered. Chase came out of nowhere and joined Shadow Falls, and for some reason, Della feels like she has met him somewhere before. Things became REALLY complicated for her, and soon enough, s*** happens. I admit, I totally love this girl, especially after reading about her family. And then there's the bloody hot Steve. (Who cares about Chase HAHAHA) Okay, fine, Chase was awesome too. I just don't like him that much. Too smartass for me, hehehe. NYAHHHH gimme the next book! HAHA.

Della was never my favorite Shadow Falls character, but "Reborn" has completely turned my thinking around as Della's back story reveals a tremendously complex girl...er...vampire. Being Asian, I completely related to Della's family woes: Her hard ass Asian father thinks the worst of her and treats her like she doesn't exist (unless he's administering a pregnancy test), whereas the only change in Della is that she carries the vampire virus. It says a lot that Della believes it is better for her family to ostracize her than to reveal what she has become. What was really interesting for me was that beneath her tough girl exterior, she is so strong and so sad at the same time. She carries her family's burdens by always taking the blame on herself. As a result, she keeps good things and people at arms length. The story brings a murder mystery into the mix, one that Della is determined to solve when the adults seem to be satisfied with easy answers. I always found it funny in this series that the supernaturals were so afraid of ghosts, but this time, Della has some ghosts of her own. I really feel like Shadow Falls After Dark has an added complexity and depth that sets it apart from the original series.

Though I missed Kylie being the main voice, it was awesome being in Della's head and finding out the many reasons why she's such a badass. Della finds out some of her family's secrets, and we get to see more of the sexy shape shifter Steve, plus a new player in town Chase. I loved the little mission into the funeral home and how Della, Kylie and Miranda are like the supernatural Charlie's Angels :) Della's the hero several times and we get to meet Holiday's baby :) Left some questions/ issues to be answered in the next book, which I can't wait to read! Overall a really good story and heroine.

Blessed with ARC! I absolutely loved the Shadow Falls series and loved how C.C. wrapped up those books, but I am also glad that she decided to write more books about some of the other characters at Shadow Falls. By starting out with Della's story I was so excited to read them because one Della is a bad@ss little vamp and I think that I connect with her character slightly when it comes to the snarky come-backs that she has! Who can resist Della's charm ;). Reborn kept me wanting to turn the pages until it was finished, I didn't see a lot of what was going to happen until it is wrapped up towards the end of the book, which I like. I loved how her and Steve's relationship evolved and then to throw Chase's interest in Della in the mix made for a cute little triangle. I love the relationships that all of the characters develop with one another and have not been disappointed with any of them so far. C.C. Hunter is one of my favorite authors and I am proud to be on the Shadow Falls Street Team! I cannot wait to read more books in this series and the next series of books that come after!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Another gem from C.C. Hunter! Della is and will continue to be a fantastically complex character. I'm looking forward to seeing what she accomplishes in the future. At the heart of the story Ms. Hunter writes about strong, confident women. They make mistakes of course, but who doesn't. How you deal with those mistakes is what defines you. The protective/overprotective males in the story do need to give it a rest, they might be physically stronger for the most part, but the women can handle their own. Della has some great new abilities coming her way, that I can't wait to find out about.

The obligatory love triangle, while good for juicing up the story line, gets a bit tedious the more you read it. Honestly the love triangle doesn't interest me as much as Della kicking butt. It doesn't detract from the story though, so no real complaints there. Definitely worth the read!

I read this book after seeing the number of positive reviews. It wasn't for me.

The main character is beyond annoying. She's a miserable person with a crappy attitude. At first, a few heart breaking moments with her family help you forgive her nasty attitude, but as the book goes on, it just becomes annoying and I simply read it to find out why she was feeling ill. When the reason was revealed, I was done.

The other characters were interesting, but I couldn't help but wonder why they cared about about Della. She was pretty crappy to everyone, especially the people she claimed to love. And she constantly made selfish choices that put herself and others at risk all because she was afraid of not being allowed to be an investigator. The author tried to throw in a feminist bent to these moments, but it didn't fly - Della was just a selfish brat.

I was curious if there would be a resolution to her relationship with her parents, but I had had enough before I read the book completely.

The story could have been great, but the main character ruined it for me. I kept hoping for someone to knock some sense into her.

More Shadow Falls? More mysteries to solve? More of the girls and their sexy guys? YES PLEASE!

It took me a little bit to get into Della's pov, but once I did, I was hooked. Her character is so spunky and there is a lot there for the author to explore. I'm glad she got her own book finally (other than a novella).

Boys. Boys. Boys. Della's love life gets complicated when Steve insists they should be together, yet the new guy at Shadow Falls seems pretty drawn to her. You will be wavering at the end, because nothing turns out as it seems.

This book was very well written and I can't wait to read Eternal, the next book in the series this fall. Overall, this story had everything I was looking for. I have to give it five glittery stars for its pure awesomeness.

I love this series. This series is about mythical creatures such as Vampires and Witches. I like the premise of the story and what happens with Della and her friends. So far I have only read Della's tale and not Miranda and Kylie's Stories. I really think that the characters are well characterized. They don't have so many conflicts that it starts to get annoying. I really recommend this book.

Shadow falls is back!! This was awesome!! Della is a great choice for a main character in this second series of the Shadow Falls world! Full of action, love triangles, and suspense... I could not put this book down!! Just one more chapter... Just one more chapter...And before I knew it I'd finished the whole damn book! I loved this!! This author always seems to come up with fresh, complex new storylines, and this was no exception!! I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this awesome series!!!

I give her a 5 star as I feel she is an awesome writer. I have had the chance to read all of this series from the beginning and every time I get a new one I could not put it down. In this book you learn the incite on how Della the sassy vampire thinks. How she has a good heart and it has to mend with the heart from a special someone, but come along a new guys and it makes her question everything. She learns more of her family past that was always a mystery to her and she learns in the unusual way!

I love C. C. Hunter's wrighting style. This book had mystery to it. Along with action and
suspense. And of course a little romace but always keeps u guessing about things and people
and if they can be trusted or not! I also liked how the book was focused on Della. It makes you
worry sick about her the entire book. But im no spoiler alert! Cant wait for the next book!

I never imagined Della like this. Since when was Della so cute? Kielie was cute, but not Della. I always imagined Della as slightly pudgy, very butch with a severe face. She was cool on the inside, but short, stocky and fully tomboy on the outside. But this cover makes her seem just as hot as Kielie.

I liked the first Shadow Falls books but this one I don't know. The mystery part of the story was good I would have liked more. It is the love story that has me not loving this book. I am tired of the same old formula love triangle. And you know the guy and the girl will pick in the end. So I don't think I will read the other books in the series.

Great YA series with enough of an interesting plot, suspense, and excitement to keep adults drawn in as well. This series was recommended to me my by teen daughter and we've enjoyed sharing our thoughts with each other of what parts we liked vs. Didn't so much like (our silly preferences of characters and events unfolding). We both look forward to the next release!

I didn't like the book because of Della, the lead in the book. She was too immature, mean and bitchy. I know the book is for young teens. She kept referring to Chase as panty perv. I found myself wondering why either he or Steve was interested in her. I won't read the 2nd book.

I'm a mom, yes, I'm a mom and I used my power of "persuasion" to read this book before my daughter :-) Okay, I bribed her with ice cream!

Right away, I was pulled into the suspense and paranormal world of Shadow Falls. It begins with Della at home on a mandatory parent weekend when she learns that her uncle could be a vampire. She returns to Shadow Falls after another disappointing time with her parents with a mission: find her uncle, stay away from the new vamp (i.e. panty perv), and become the best FRU agent.

Like I stated above, I'm not done, but I can tell you the story has already grabbed me with its fast yet intense pace, a strong heroine, and a book full of supernatural characters.

I can't wait to finish this book!
