Invincible is the second of a new series, The Chronicles of Nick, by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Written for the younger fans, it still is a great read for anyone. Funny, sarcastic, thrilling. A great book.

Invincible (Chronicles of Nick) is the second book of this series. Great read, can't wait for the third installment. This book explains a lot about what happened to Nick in the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

I love this Series and can not wait for Rise of the Gryphon,
wish I knew the date it will be released.
I have read the three books in a row,so it was very easy to
keep up with the characters.

I guess I am used to more as an adult and not used to Young adult literature.
I was disappointed in this book and kind of skipped through to get to the end.
I think that the two genres should be separated.

There is nothing I don’t like about it.
First off, audiobook is the format I’d recommend. I’m sure this would be great as a regular book, but the narrator they chose to perform all these books is perfect for this story.
That being said, this installment is even more sinister and engrossing than the first. The threat is identified early on, but the exact nature of it and how to defeat it is revealed in a way that kept me interested and made it extremely hard to stop listening.
I also really enjoyed the perspective of Nick, the kindhearted Cajun who’s destined to become a horrifying demon that destroys the world. Talk about the thread that holds the series together.
Overall, loved this book. Strongly recommended.
Borrowed the audiobook from the library.

Usually when I read a series I like to take breaks in between each book. I can’t read two books back to back but since I was having trouble getting into another book I decided I’d read Invincible and it was much better than Infinity in my opinion.
What I Liked:
☯ Nick is such a funny, hilarious, sarcastic character that had me almost laugh in the middle of class. It’s very rare for a book to make me laugh, since I tend to not read comedy or whatever, but Nick is so funny.
☯I felt like there was more of a plot with the story, more happened, not much more but it was still enjoyable.
☯I love the creativity in the whole series, I’ve NEVER EVER EVER heard of anything quite like this and it excites me to see something so nice and new and refreshing as this is. Seriously, there’s mythology, monsters I’ve never heard of, there was some sweet magick all kinds of new things. Like I keep saying I am so excited to see what happens with the rest of the story.
☯I love how respectful Nick is to his mom and himself, it’s nice to see a good family relationship like that! ヾ(^▽^)ノ
What I Didn't Like:
☯I feel like the plots still slow but enjoyable the whole way through!
Fables Final Thoughts:
Nick is definitely a lovable character his humor made me seriously enjoy Invincible. It seems to me that this series is getting better and better!I believe the Minions liked it too! I can’t wait to see what else The Chronicles of Nick shall bring!

I was very, very, very fortunate enough to be sent an advanced copy of The Curse, the third book of Sherrilyn Kenyon & Dianna Love's. I really love this series and if you haven't looked into it yet, you really need to. Each book is better than the last.
The Beladors are pretty much superhumans without actually being human. They look human but they can talk to each other telepathically and have super speed, etc. Many of them work for an organization called VIPER which is made up of nonhumans who are out to protect humans.
We, mainly, follow Evalle who is an Alterant. This is a half-Belador, half-something else. Not even Evalle knows what her fully genetic history is but whatever it is makes it so she can shift into an Alterant form - pretty much a mega powerful monster. The other Beladors fear her for just this reason even though she's spent the past 5 years of her life working to protect mankind and her Belador tribe. This is Evalle's story as she fights for her right to exist.
In The Curse, Evalle has been set on an impossible task, or rather, many tasks. She must find out what the other line of her DNA is, what makes her Alterant. She must also find other Alterants to pledge themselves to the Belador Goddess, Mecha, who is, for a limited time only, offering up the golden opportunity to be protected under Mecha's pantheon and seen as a real race and not just beasts to be destroyed however, the Alterants she knows about aren't really answering her call.
To make matters worst, a special group of black-ops trolls have overrun Atlanta, starting gang wars.
We get to find out what's going on with characters in the previous book, such as the mystery of Storm and the email - is he really alive? If not, who sent that email saying he was? Tzader and his vow to give up his true love, Brina, and if he can really do it to appease his goddess.
I have to say, the story that had me biting my nails the most - other than Evalle's of course, is Quinn and the major mistakes he's made. Oh, and a family member whose decided now is the best time to pop into town. That is a character I really enjoyed and I cannot wait to see more of her in future stories. Of course, this particular relative can't just show up for sight seeing, oh no. She brings with her a whole new slew of problems.
Man I feel greedy. I just finished this book and can't wait for the next one.

Invincible the second installment in the Chronicles of Nick sees our hero taking lessons from Death. Death as in the Grim Reaper is a serious downer. He has absolutely no sense of humor. Grim comes complete with his own set of shadows, Pain and Suffering. His lessons are slow and tedious and Nick despairs that he will ever master what he’s shown. The name of the game is divination. If trying to find things that are lost, those that don’t want to be found and seeing into the past and future are not enough Nick has his hands full with a new football coach and a slew of bounty hunting demons. Life just doesn’t serve up any breaks after their latest brush with zombies. As shady as they come the new coach is real bad news, the kind that leaves dead bodies behind. With threats of being railroaded into prison and being the next body that turns up Nick is forced to delve into things he’d just as soon not.
Along for the ride is Nick’s protector, Caleb who deals whup ass with the best of them. Simi is serving up beignets and barbeque sauce. Kody is dealing out kisses and has poor Nick confused with wishful thinking. The sidelines are filled with the typical snarky characters like Bubba, Mark and Madug. Ambrose is a reluctant participant. Last but not least life’s a challenge living up to momma Gautier’s expectations. But all in all things are definitely looking up on the home front if only the rest of life could be so easy.
Invincible proves to be another action packed fast paced novel. Once again I couldn’t put down a book by Sherrilyn Kenyon and I don’t suspect the day will come when I can. So if you haven’t picked it up yet then I highly recommend you do. You can’t go wrong with any of the Chronicle of Nick series.

I really enjoy the Belador series. I think it's because the heroine, Evalle, is just so damn easy to root for. She has been kicked down, abused, and maligned her entire life. She is considered a monster, even by those she lives to protect. But she never wavers. She never acts dishonorably. She simply accepts those things about herself that she can not change and she soldiers on, always fighting the good fight.
As this third installment of her story begins, she is on the hunt for others of her kind. The goddess who oversees the Beladors has agreed to recognize Alterants as a race within her pantheon. But only if Evalle can bring them forward and they swear their fealty. First and foremost, she wants to find Tristan, but her search has been stymied by a rash of troll attacks in the Atlanta area. She must work with her VIPER team-mates to protect the humans.
On top of that, Storm is missing. And as he slowly reenters the picture, she must continue to come to terms with her feelings for him. (And Isaak too.) There is strain in her friendship with Quinn... let's not forget that he led the Medb to her at the end of the last book. He is trying to deal with his feeling for Kazira --while poor Tzader tries to honor his vow to let Brina go.
Plus... more trolls. Giant, black-ops, demon-infused, bounty-hunter trolls.
It's all part of the Medb plan to breach Brina's sanctuary and vanquish the Beladors. There's a lot of scheming, machinations and betrayals. There's also much violence and bloodshed. You won't find many dull moments.
However, I don't feel like we moved forward much here. Don't get me wrong, I was never bored. I was invested in the characters and deeply ensconced in this very complicated world. But in many ways this installment was almost like a placeholder. There were no huge developments in any of the relationships --and there are a lot of relationships at play. No big revelations about the Alterant race. No big movement in the war with Medb. I mean, stuff happens, it's just nothing game changing.
Did I enjoy the book? Absolutely. I love Evalle. I love Storm. And I am dying for Brina and Tzader to have some happiness. Or at least get on the path to it. It feels a little stalled, though. I wanted more. It all sort of seemed like baby steps. I'm ready for these characters to make some strides.
If you're interested in the Belador series, I strongly urge you to start from the beginning with Blood Trinity. I just don't think this is a series where you want to jump in, mid-way through.

If Evalle Kincaid wants to keep the freedom she nearly lost, she must convince a stubborn Alterant to swear loyalty and reveal their kinds origins to a goddess he doesn't trust. As if that wasn't enough on her plate, black-ops like military Trolls are in Atlanta and capturing Alterants for the Medb. Dealing with trolls will take some smart maneuvering but when she learns of the Medb's real plan, she'll have to call forth her deadly beast, an act that can condemn her, in order to stop them.
Evalle is half Belador, warrior race that fights to protect humans, and half Alterant, Belador mixed with unknown blood that shifts into a dangerous beast that's caused them to be feared and hunted. She's allowed to battle alongside the Beladors but is under constant watch and always has someone out to find a reason to lock her away. Evalle was born with the odds stacked against her but she doesn't wallow in self-pity. Instead, she fights for the innocent to show she's not a monster. Evalle isn't perfect, she likes to put herself in situations where she's over her head, but her faults in addition to her many strengths is what makes her a wonderful heroine.
There are a few bumps in the road in Evalle's new relationship with the Skinwalker (shapeshifter) Storm in the form of a human hunter. I'm not a fan of love triangles and I liked with the way things ended in this book but that possibility hasn't been completely dismissed. For now I'm happy with the way things are but that could easily change if the authors push Evalle towards the Alterant hating Isak. The chemistry between Evalle and Storm gets better each time they're together and I'd have a hard time seeing that change.
This book picks up not long after the last one ended. Evalle's to do list is out of control. She needs to find the Belador who sold them out to the Medb (evil witches/wizards), convince Tristen (a free Alternant with his own agenda) to swear loyalty to and reveal secrets to a goddess he hates, stop Trolls from terrorizing Atlanta and capturing Alternants and those are just the things she's aware of. But she's not fighting alone. At her side is Storm and her Belador friends Tzader and Quinn, strong supporting characters that have their own interesting side stories taking place.
Evalle guards herself against outsiders but she's opening up and revealing a little more with each book, adding well developed layers to her character. With Evalle taking the lead, The Curse offers action and a few surprise twists that went great alongside the bit of romance and personal turmoil that takes place. Like with most Urban Fantasy books, to fully understand what's happening in this series you need to go back to book one.

Third in the Belador urban fantasy series revolving around Evalle Kincaid, a woman desperately trying to prove her value to her peers. Based in Atlanta, Georgia.
My Take
There's certainly no lack of action in this story even if it is only a bridge novel. Nothing major gets settled and Kenyon/Love simply continue to tease us along. You should really read the first two in the series before you read this one. So much that occurs in The Curse refers back to Blood Trinity (Belador, #1) and Alterant (Belador, #2).
Kenyon and Love have created an interesting alternate world, blending their supernatural setting with our own world. My problem with it is that they have too much going on. Blood Trinity (Belador, #1) started in the middle of everything and the usual information dumps were neatly slotted in, but they were and are only choppy bits that never fill us in to make us feel as though we grasp their world. Maybe it's intended to keep us on edge just as their characters are on edge; a trend that continues in The Curse.
Evalle makes me nuts. Okay, she's had issues in her past. But the way she's treating Storm is very unreasonable.
Kenyon/Love are so busy setting us up for the future that they've forgotten to take care of the now. They repeat just enough of the characters so that we feel a connection, but their backgrounds, powers, and actions are so chopped and sparse that we can't really settle into them.
The Story
Evalle Kincaid must bring an Alterant before Macha, her goddess or die and too many people are not answering her calls: Tristan is her ticket to life and Quinn and Storm both disappeared three weeks ago. Then there's the doubt Kizira planted in her mind about Quinn.
Meanwhile, Conlan O'Meary is planting his own seeds of doubt everywhere, Quinn has several confessions to make, and trolls and gangs have been tearing Atlanta up. The VIPER agents are stretched too thin and Evalle reaches out to the Nyght Raiders for help. A request that has some unwanted repercussions.
The Characters
Evalle Kincaid is an Alterant. She's free only due to an agreement she has with Macha to bring other Alterants in to swear fealty to Macha. Feenix is her two-foot-tall gargoyle. Tristan is another Alterant who is on the run with Petrina, and two Rías--Watson and Aaron.
Tzader Burke (he's in love with Brina but his father's dying wish made him immortal and prevents him from entering Treoir Castle) and Vladimir Quinn, a witch, are her closest friends. Tzader had to promise Macha he would give up Brina. Svetlanna "Lanna" Brasko is a soft-hearted Russian Gypsy and Quinn's cousin. Seems she's run away from home in Transylvania and refuses to go back. Grendal is a wizard who wants to turn Lanna into his puppet. Devon Fortier is a Cajun Belador who's come to help. Others who work for VIPER include Trey McCree is legendary or his telepathy, Reece "Casper" Jordan is VIPER but not Belador, and Horace Keefer. Sen is a liaison between the Tribunal and VIPER and he hates Evalle. He almost killed Storm in Alterant (Belador, #2).
Storm is Ashaninka and a Navajo Skinwalker who turned into a black jaguar in Alterant (Belador, #2) in an attempt to help Evalle. Kai is his guardian spirit who saved his life. Adrianna Lafontaine is a Sterling witch and it's her aid that has helped Storm survive. Sen had brought him in as a tracker for VIPER and to find Evalle at fault for something, anything. Kell and Kardos are a couple of homeless boys, witches, with whom Evalle is friends. They trusted the wrong people.
Brina is the last living Treoir, the Warrior Queen, and she is trapped forever on Treoir Island as Belador powers only exist if a Treoir is alive and on the island. Macha has forced Brina to agree to give up Tzader. Allyn is her new personal guard, chosen to playact in front of Tzader.
Dakkar is a bounty hunter playing politics. Deek D'Alimonte is an immortal centaur with scary powers who runs the Iron Casket, a club for supernaturals. Grady is a Nightstalker and quite willing to pass on the gossip he hears in exchange for an exchange of life.
Isak Nyght is a human black ops who runs a crew whose sole task is hunting down and killing Alterants. He doesn't know that Evalle is one and he keeps trying to romance her. Kit is his mother and the real force behind Nyght Industries.
Conlan O'Meary is a Belador traitor working with the Medb Coven. Kizira is a Medb witch priestess with evidence implicating Quinn. She's got her own game plan. Queen Flaevynn is the evil mastermind for the coven. She's held Cathbad, a druid and her husband, a prisoner at TÅμr Medb. Roogre is the Svart troll commander.
Svart trolls are black-ops mercenaries who hire out to the highest bidder. But even they wouldn't normally want to attract VIPER's attraction.
Macha is a Celtic goddess who allowed Evalle to go free in Alterant (Belador, #2) with a deadline to deliver the origin of Alterants. If Evalle can bring in proof about the Alterants, Macha will support them as a recognized race. Varpulis is a Slavic god on the Tribunal;
Beladors are an ancient race that appears human with kinetic and telepathic powers and part of Macha's pantheon. Alterants are part Belador and part other with powers greater than normal Beladors. Rías are similar to Alterants, but they attack without thought or control.
VIPER protects humans from supernatural threats.
The Cover
The cover is an orange and brown collage of metaphor and event with stone crosses, Atlanta's skyline, and a sense of other. An up-close view of a sword's hilt, its guard, and some of the blade is angled in front, a red scarf flying from one end.
The title is The Curse that Flaevynn will die according to a prophecy.

Macha is a Celtic goddess who allowed Evalle to go free in Alterant (Belador, #2) with a deadline to deliver the origin of Alterants. If Evalle can bring in proof about the Alterants, Macha will support them as a recognized race. Varpulis is a Slavic god on the Tribunal;

When we left off with Evalle in Alterant, she had escaped a lifetime of being locked up and death only by the grace of God. Or I should say A goddess. Evalle was whisked away to VIPER headquarters, after failing to turn over any other Alterants, right before she saw the wonderfully handsome and allusive Storm being badly beaten and left for dead.
Now Evalle has been granted a reprieve. A goddess has stepped up and claims that she will take responsibility and acknowledge Alterants (beings with Beladore blood and an unknown blood that causes one to shift into a beast ) as a race if Evalle can get other Alterants to come and show themselves. It may be a trick, but really, Evalle has no other choice. This is her chance to stop being afraid of being taken away forever.
It has been weeks and Evalle still has not seen Storm. She received an email from someone claiming to be Storm but she has a feeling it isn't legit. The pain Evalle feels from Storm's absence is something that Evalle doesn't know how to deal with very well. She is hell on wheels and people are keeping their distance claiming that they don't want to deal with "EMS" (Evalle Missing Storm). Even though Evalle would like nothing more than to search for Storm, she took an oath and she needs to find more Alterants. Life must go on.
In downtown, Atlanta (yes!!!), gang wars are breaking out like wildfire and now there are Trolls in the mix. Not your friendly trolls that you have to answer a riddle to let you pass, but huge ugly ones who are really hard to kill. Not to mention they make a nasty mess when you do manage to kill them. The Beladore's have been calling in Sin, an unknown man who hates all things Evalle and pretty much everyone else, to help clean up the mess the Trolls leaves behind. There must be another way.
Enter Isak Nyght: A human man who runs a tactical team who hunts the supernatural. He HATES all things Alterant and hunts them down. His best friend was murdered by an Alterant. He has a thing for Evalle and even once kidnapped her so she would not have the chance to stand him up, once again, for a dinner date. Oh, he has no idea that Evalle is an Alterant, and Evalle wants to keep it that way. But, Isak has some of the best weapons out there and has a weapon that will kill the Trolls and leave no mess. What is a girl to do?
Storm comes out of a fog with one thought, die or wake up. His spirit guide tells him he has been out of it on the brink of death for weeks and now is the time to decide. Wake up or pass on to the next life. Storm has no soul, so dying is not an option, so is never seeing Evalle again. The fight to finally wake up is horrible, but Storm has too many things that he needs to do. When he finally can open his eyes, Storm is disappointed to find that Evalle is not the one who has been taking care of him. A VIPER witch who is sometimes a good guy and who Evalle is absolutely jealous of has been nursing him back to health. Evalle is going to be so pissed.
It seems that Storm could not have come back at a better time. Evalle, once again, has a mission given to her by the gods that is impossible. Storm wants nothing more than to take her away from all of this mess and hide her from all of the people who want to hurt her. But Storm knows that Evalle loves being a Beladore and she would never run away from her duties, it is part of the reason Storm feels so deeply about her. Now if Storm could just figure out how to get rid of this Isak Nyght character. Storm's skin crawls every time he sees that...man...look at his Evalle. Evalle is HIS, not some human man who does not know how wonderful a creature Evalle really is.
The Curse, is Sherrilyn Kenyon's and Dianna Love's third book in their Beladore series. Evalle needs to get the weapon from Nyght without letting him know VIPER business, find more Alterants to come and join her ranks to help them become an acknowledged race, help Storm track a witch doctor, and protect the Beladore leader, Brina from attack. But when the real fight is on, Evalle has to make a choice...one that can get her killed on the spot. Just a normal day in the life of Evalle Kincaid.
If you have not read this series, you are seriously missing out. I am going to be honest, I read the first book in this series because it takes place in Atlanta, where I am from. So the setting is what got me to buy it, BUT, the story and the Characters are what kept me invested in the series. Evalle is so bad ass but also tragically human that it breaks my heart and has me routing for her like she were my sister. Every character has a purpose and I love finding out what that is. Read this book and take this journey. You will not be let down. I promise you!
Happy Reading!

I read the first Chronicles of Nick book (Infinity) in the summer but for some reason I didn't pick up Invincible until recently. I have been bombarded with so many ARCs that I just didn't have the time to read Invincible. Now that I think of it, that was a very bad decision on my part! I really wish I read this book sooner because it was that awesome!
Sherrilyn Kenyon takes everything you know about demons, zombies, and vampires and just throws it out the window. Everything in the Chronicles of Nick is completely original and fun. The Chronicles Of Nick series is unlike any paranormal series I have read. Usually when there's a medley of different types of paranormal creatures, everything becomes washed down and uninteresting. In The Chronicles Of Nick series quite the opposite takes place. Every single paranormal character is completely necessary and adds something special to the book.
Invincible is a book that I wasn't able to put down no matter what. In the second installment in the Chronicle of Nick series there is tons of action scenes. The action scenes were extremely exciting to read and they were perfectly written. To balance out the action scenes, Kenyon adds tons of humor that will make the reader laugh out loud. I like how despite the fact that there is romance in Invincible it doesn't interfere with the action or slow down the plot. There isn't really much romance in Invincible and I felt like this book needed more romance. This one of the few cases where I actually craved a bit of romance in a book. I needed a fun, light book and this was just what I was looking for.
Nick deserves his own paragraph in my review because he is just that awesome. I really love Nick's sarcastic and witty attitude because it provided me with a few laughs. Nick's attitude toward his mom is truly touching and pretty darn noteworthy. Even though Nick doesn't want to show it, he is a big fluffy teddy bear when it comes to his mom. Sherrilyn Kenyon succeeded in creating a protagonist that I was constantly rooting for. There wasn't one second in Invincible when I wasn't cheering on Nick and hoping that he would succeed. I hope Nick continues to be an awesome protagonist in the upcoming books in the series. On a side note I really would like to get to know more about Acheron, Ambrose, and Kyrian. I feel like the world of The Dark Hunters needed to be explained more in the upcoming books for those who haven't read The Dark Hunter series. I have never read The Dark Hunters so once or twice while reading Invincible I was a tad confused.
I am starting to notice a pattern in a bunch of books that I have really enjoyed. For some reason I love reading books that place in the South. Maybe I was a Southern dude in a previous life who fought in the civil war, who knows? Whatever the reason maybe, I am addicted to reading about the Southern way of life. New Orleans is a perfect setting for Invincible considering it's the most paranormal place in the country. Kenyon perfectly uses the paranormal activity the city is famous for to her advantage. New Orleans gives Invincible adds a mystical and intriguing layer to the plot of Invincible. I have never been to New Orleans but after reading Invincible I feel like I have. Kenyon is very adept at immersing the reader in the world of the enigma that is New Orleans.
Overall I really enjoyed Invincible and I am really looking forward to reading Infamous!

Invincible starts of right where Infinity ended, pretty much up on the sentence. So zombies are defeated, Nick found out his destined for great evil, there are were-creatures all around him and his boss has fangs. Nick does what every fourteen-year-old would do and that is to freak out, majorly!
Just when he thinks everything is slowly going back to normal or as normal as his life can be these days, his new coach wants Nick to join his little gang of thieves. Ever since the coach's arrival things have gone missing from the students' lockers. Still nobody would suspect the coach and if Nick doesn't help him, the coach will kill him. Also it's not regular things that he has to steal, but rather things like a hairbrush or notes. If that doesn't scream weird, then your radar is off.
Besides the coach wanting to kill him, there are other beings after him. Somehow Nick has send out a signal into the cosmic screaming I am here, so come and get me. Which was not his intention obviously, since he already has enough problems going on. So while trying to uncover what is going on with the coach, staying alive, he also has to learn to control his new found powers. Easier said than done. They usually go into overdrive when he doesn't need them, like during class and when he's two inches of getting beheaded it's pretty much sheer luck and Caleb that keep him from dying.
The only thing positive in his life right know is Kody. She's pretty much the only one keeping him sane and possibly love struck. Which does not exclude Nick going off into five minute sarcastic rants and making everyone around him borderline insane.
Once again a very well written story. You just fly through these books. Once I finished one, I immediately grab the next one, they are so addicting. This time the emphasis lies more on the problems going on in Nick's life and within himself, which gives it a bit of a darker edge than the previous book. There is still so much action and crazy fights going on, you won't get bored. Nick keeps on surprising me and I love it!

The second installment in CON is yet another adventurous entry. The book picks up immediately after the first and follows Nick as he learns to control his ever-growing demonic powers all the while navigating high school and puberty.
The Good:
This book is quick and easy to read. The action is always on, and of course, we see more of our favorite old characters including Simi and Acheron. Nick's internal dialogue is hilarious and witty, and it is always funny to see what will come out of his mouth.
The Bad:
The plus side is also the down side. This book is very short. It seems much shorter than the first and because of that, it left me somewhat unsatisfied when I reached the end. The plot is also not as centralized and episodic as the first. That may make it harder to recall some of the plot points in the future.
Overall:
The second CON continues the promising start of the series, and I look forward to more entries.

The Curse by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love
"This friend business could be so messy and complicated some days."
"Oh, Crud."
"There weren't enough hours in the day to figure out how a man's brain worked."
I love listening to Evalle when she gets frustrated or angry. She's a warrior and not used to the softer things in life. She's amusing but not intentionally so. And she is very loyal and soft hearted. This is a woman you want on your side for friendship and fighting abilities.
Feenix is adorable. I hope we get to visit him often in future books.
Fantasy serial. Lots of dangling threads at the end of this book three but I'm hooked now. So many complicated relationships with impossible obstacles. Heartbreaking. Not a light read but an adventure and growth for Evalle.

The fate of the world is at stake, and the deciding factor between good and evil rest upon the shoulders of a teenager. Sherrilyn Kenyon's foray into the popular YA genre hits it's stride with the sophomoric release of The Chronicles of Nick series, Invincible. This second effort is definitely better than the first. We pick up where the last book left off, right after Nick and his friends defeat the zombies, and the mortents. Oh, and then there's Kyrian's flashing some fang. But who and what his so called friends and allies are, are not the only obstacles Nick will be facing. The pressure is on for Nick to start mastering his powers, because there's a bounty on his head, and no shortage of demons trying to collect. His love life has gone from not to hot, trying to decide between the girl he's pined for in the past and the one who saw him when no one else did. Nick can't seem to catch a break with a new principal who's even worst than the last one. Gautier can't even put a W in the win column when the new football coach wants him back on the team, since he also has even more devious extra curricular activities to add to Nick's roster. In Nick's world everyone's a player and surrounding yourself with the right people is the key to being a pawn or a king, and by the end someone close to him will be on evil's payroll. His soul is constantly teetering in the balance, as we watch on pins and needles whether the choices he makes now will sway the future.
I found the writing as witty as some of the characters. Kenyon approached this book with a sense of humor and satire that I think really fits her leading man. She really captures an innocence, curiosity, and attitude with Nick that make you want him to succeed. At the same time Invincible was a lot of fun bringing back old characters like Bubba and Mark and adding some new dimensions to them, while introducing new and interesting characters like Grim, Pain, and Suffering. Even when we were in the build up stage at the beginning of the book Kenyon kept us occupied with interesting places and people like the Sanctuary. It's a great vibrant world set in an equally lively and tragic city, that mirrors Nick's character. There isn't a dull moment in the life of Nick and by the end we'll all be rooting for the underdog.
I opted for the audiobook for Invincible, which was excellent. The narrator Holter Graham was wonderful.Graham made the words come to life. He doesn't sound too old, and he captures Nick's personality. I highly recommend the audio version if you get the chance. If not, well you can't go wrong with a great world, wonderful characters, and interesting storylines. The ending will have you wondering what's next and how Nick's going to deal with the relentless revelations.

The Curse is book 3 in the Belador series. This is a complex story and is hard to follow if you have not read the other books. You could read it but would be confusing.
This is a clean read to enjoy. I hated to have put it down like I did.
Most of the story takes place in Atlanta. Some in different world.
A group of Belador warriors are fighting for Viper to protect humans. The Belador also have to protect thier warrior queen.
The Alterant shift into a beast but thier are a lot of secrets about them. Thier are a lot of different groups that want the knowledge about them and to trap or kill them.
Evalle is a Alterant but she does not shift and can controll her beast. She fights with Viper. She can not go out during daylight and has to wear dark sunglasses all the time. She was abused early in her life and has only been kissed a few times.
Two of the Belador warriors are in a special friendship and they trust each other and have thier backs. Evalle does not know anything about her race.
Storm is a skinwalker and can change into a panther but most do not know that. He really likes Evalle and knows when people lie around him.
Sin is a powerful being and no one really knows what he is or how he is forced to deal between Viper and the Council of Gods. He hates Evalle dont know why.
Thier are so many other powers and beings with different abilties all going around Atlanta.
Thier is even a private black ops that has weapons to kill nonhumans and hates Alterants. Isak Nyght is a leader of them. He likes Evalle but does not know what she is.
I like this series but its a lot to remember the different names, powers and who wants to kill whom in between the different books. I want all my questions answered and they are trickling in where I want the flood of answers.
I will be waiting to read the next book in the series.

Nick Gautier managed to survive zombie attacks but by doing that he now finds himself in a world of shapeshifters and demons. Demons that out to claim his soul.
His coach is trying to recruit him for things he can't talk about and his newest principal is convinced Nick is even more of a trouble maker than his last principal thought he was. The girl he is kind of seeing has secrets that she is hiding and that terrifies him.
He also needs to learn how to raise the dead before the end of the week so that he doesn't end up joining them. And the darkest of powers is trying to groom him for themselves. Just when he thought things were going to get better.
This second book in this series that picks up right after the first one left off and keeps the story moving at a fast pace. This also keeps the sarcasm and quips that the first book had which makes this a very fun book to read. The story line is interesting and different but with these characters readers are sure to wish they could meet them in real life. The world in this book is such that when readers have to put it down they will be disappointed to find themselves back in the real world. This is a book that once it is started it is very hard to put down. It will also have readers eagerly reaching for the next one in this series just to see what will happen to Nick next and how he will manage to get out his latest bout of trouble. This series makes for a wonderful escape from the real world and will have imaginations taking flight.

This is a book that once it is started it is very hard to put down. It will also have readers eagerly reaching for the next one in this series just to see what will happen to Nick next and how he will manage to get out his latest bout of trouble. This series makes for a wonderful escape from the real world and will have imaginations taking flight.

I definitely liked the first book, Infinity. I read it last year and was really intrigued by where the author was taking his abilities. I thought the New Orleans setting was amazing, and there was a good blend of contemporary elements and the supernatural.
However, Invincible missed the mark for me. It felt like a filler episode for a CW show. Random characters are introduced that have no bearing on the story, Nick bad mouths people, some more mysteries are thrown in, and the bad guy is defeated, but it was extremely underwhelming.
In the first book Nick's banter with the random characters was endearing, if a little bit over the top, but in Invincible it took "taking off on a tangent" to a whole other level. There are literally pages of dialogue that do not make sense to me. It's fine for the first couple of chapters, but when conflict and problems are supposed to arise, the character needs to focus up a little bit to keep me, the reader, focussed on the plot, or else the story line becomes one big ramble (which it kind of did). Don't get me wrong, I love filler episodes as much as the next person, but they're usually only 45 minutes long. It takes a lot longer than that to read a book, and if I don't have the time and energy to devote myself to a book like this, then it definitely has to be worth it or else I won't finish it.
Invincible was funny, entertaining, but in very short amounts. It was a fairly quick read, and even at the end of reading and reviewing this I'm still invested in the series, but this book slowed the momentum it had gained in the first installment. I'm hoping the third book steps it up in terms of characterization and storyline and is a little more focussed when it comes to dialogue.

With the fate of her race resting on her shoulders, the last thing Belador warrior Evalle Kincaid needs to deal with is the troll gang violence that will distract her from her mission to provide protection for all Alterants. But the demonic Svart Trolls invading Atlanta are only the beginning of Evalle's problems. The Beladors' enemies are more determined than ever to take out all those Evalle holds dear. And they want to use Evalle to do it. The clock's ticking and with evil always a step ahead, Evalle might have to sacrifice everything -- even her freedom -- to save the Beladors.
The world of the Beladors gets a lot more complex in THE CURSE. Authors Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love take readers on a fantastic journey filled with twists, turns and non-stop action.
At the heart of THE CURSE is Evalle, the tough-as-nails heroine I absolutely adore. Mses. Kenyon and Love couldn't have created a better heroine to center the series around for Evalle is undeniably strong, but also deeply wounded and incredibly caring. The softer side of her comes out more in THE CURSE than it has in the previous BELADOR books, as a shadow is cast over her relationships with those she loves most in the world.
It's difficult, if not impossible, to talk about THE CURSE without spoiling some of the excitement of a reader's journey. Mses. Kenyon and Love reveal more of the history of the Beladors, Alterants, Medb and individual characters. There's so much going on in THE CURSE that almost every page reveals new information. Because of this, I highly recommend reading the first two BELADOR books, BLOOD TRINITY and ALTERANT, before reading THE CURSE.
THE CURSE is an engaging story, but it's definitely what I would label a "bridge book." A lot of necessary information is conveyed and the setup for bigger battles occurs, but there isn't much in the way of resolution. In all honesty, this didn't bother me. It did, however, leave me very eager to read the next BELADOR book. I cannot wait to see what Mses. Kenyon and Love have in store for Evalle and her friends!

Nick Gautier has just won the battle against the undead zombies, created by his friend's video game. But Nick does not get to take a break - far from it. While learning to use his new powers, along with a book that defines 'smart-ass', Nick has to battle the forces of evil once more while coming to realizing that he is literally the key to saving the world. A new evil has come into town, leaving dead bodies of boys similar to Nick's age, around town while the new principle (after the last one was eaten) is just looking for any excuse to kick him out of school. And if that was not enough Nick's internal battle against remaining good continues.
While Infinity is still a favorite, Invincible tops it. A large part of this is because while Infinity introduced a lot of characters (and mean a lot!), which was at times a bit confusing, Invincible brings back all my favorite characters while introducing just a few more, making it much easier to follow and enjoyable.
Nick's character development continues to amaze me. After being dropped kicked into a paranormal world with special powers, Nick manages to remain a fourteen year old at the same time. I am amazed at how well Sherrilyn Kenyon as tapped into the head of a teen boy. While Nick continues to be a smart ass and ever so witty he is caring, honest and true to those he loves and to what is right. His relationship with his mother is the perfect example of this, and one of my favorites.
For the audiobook, Holter Gram did a perfect job again in challenging Nick's essence and character. I found myself laughing constantly and smiling while listening to this. Audiobooks for me are usually those that I don't have the time to read or desire to read buts till want to be able to 'read' (if that makes sense), but Holter Gram makes listening to this book too enjoyable!
Beware in reading this installment - you will be left with a lot of questions by the end. While you find out a few essential factors into who Nick is you find yourself dying to know more. I cannot wait for the 3rd installment - once I might just read instead of listen to.

Invincible is the second book in Sherrilyn Kenyon's YA spin off to the Dark-Hunters series. The Chronicles of Nick books star 14 year old Nick Gautier as he is first drawn into the Dark-Hunter's world after starting to work for Kyrian. I have to admit that I'm not up to date with the Dark-Hunters series, in fact I've only read the first couple of books so I haven't seen much of Nick as an adult. I'm getting to know his younger self first through this series and will be interested to see more of him as I catch up with the adult series too. I enjoyed the first book in this series, Infinity, but I did find it a little confusing at times because I wasn't familiar with this world or what the Dark-Hunters actually were. Now that I've started the other series I found this second instalment easier to read and I enjoyed it even more than the first book.
The story picks up immediately after the end of the first book, Nick is trying to come to terms with everything he has learnt about himself and the paranormal world that he now finds himself in. He has no idea what the full extent of his powers are but he knows that he needs to master them as soon as possible. As if school wasn't bad enough when zombies were taking over Nick now finds himself being blackmailed by the new football coach into stealing from his fellow players. But what does the coach want with the items that he has asked Nick to acquire for him and why are so many 14 year old boys being murdered?
I loved Nick's character in the first book and the more I get to know him the more I like him. I love the way he is so close to his mother, she had him when she was very young and faced a difficult struggle to raise him after her parents kicked her out of home when she was pregnant. Nick has a lot of respect for his mum and as much as she might drive him insane at times (don't all parents irritate their teenage children?!) he won't hear anyone say a bad word about her. In fact he does his best to try and take care of her and treat her to things that she can't afford to buy for herself. Nick's mother can be quite strict but she has raised him to always do the right thing and that really shows in his character. He is smart, fiercely protective of the women in his life, loyal to those he cares about and he always tries to do the right thing. When he is forced into the position of stealing from his team mates it hits him really hard and you can see how much he hates to do something that he feels is so wrong.
Nick is still getting advice from his mysterious mentor Ambrose and we find out a lot more about who he is and what he's up to in this book. It isn't always easy for Nick to decide who is on his side, should he always listen to Ambrose's advice or make up his own mind about people? Demon Caleb is still on the scene and starting to feel like a friend to Nick, although Caleb says that he only protects Nick because he has to I definitely get the feeling that there is more to it than that. I'm also very curious about Kody - I want to know more about what she is and who she is working for because there is definitely more to her than we've seen. I absolutely adore Simi and she steals the show for me every time she steps onto the page - you can't help but laugh at her weird way of talking and the strange things she comes out with.
The story is fast paced and kept my attention from beginning to end. I'm looking forward to reading Infamous and finding out what happens next. I also really need to get around to catching up with the Dark-Hunters books so I can try to figure out what it is that Ambrose is trying to change about Nick's future!

The Curse by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love
Paranormal Romance -Sept. 18th 2012
4 stars
The Curse is the third in the Belador series by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love. In this paranormal/urban fantasy series the heroine, Evalle, is caught between her loyalty to her friends and helping those like herself.
Evalle is an Alternant, a being of mixed heritage, which often are deemed unstable. Their monstrous sides create fear and they are often caged or killed.... Evalle has just been able to free herself from imprisonment but for a price. She is supposed to find other Alternants like herself and help build a deadly army for a Goddess. But others want to use Evalle, too. And when it is revealed that one of her closest friends may be a traitor Evalle doesn't know what to believe. Plus, the man she cares for has been missing and mysteriously returns after being cared for by another woman. Who can Evalle trust?
In this third installment, the authors are writing full throttle as the intrigue and action never stop. The first part of book actually centers around Storm, Evalle's love interest. Storm is a shapeshifter. He was wounded while trying to save Evalle. I liked that the authors finally reveal his thoughts. He has hidden depths and I found him a very noble hero. I only wished he and Evalle were together more in the story. Evalle is a head-strong heroine trying to redeem herself for unfortunately being born an Alternant. Her bravery and integrity make for a likeable underdog. I also liked the storyline of the star-crossed lovers Brina and Tzader. Brina and Tzader love each other but can't even touch! While I enjoyed the twists and turns in this book sometimes I did wish it would slow down a bit so I could enjoy each character more - there is a lot going on. This book ends at a bit of a cliffhanger as Evalle finds herself on another quest. I would like to know more about the Alternants, especially their leader Tristan.
Readers of urban fantasy will enjoy this action packed novel.

This series is a blast! Sherrilyn Kenyon continues to reinvent the character of Nick Gautier (made famous in her adult paranormal romance series, Dark-Hunter) by turning back the clock to when he was a teenager and allowing him (and those around him) to make different decisions that then ripple out and change his future/history in several key ways. It's brilliant really because this approach allows both old and new readers to fully embrace the Chronicles of Nick series as a completely separate, yet complimentary, entity.
Nick is once again the same completely self-deprecating character that charmed me in INFINITY. He's got more friends this time and he's beginning to scratch the surface of his formidable powers, but he still deals with bullies, his smothering mother, and girl troubles (why is the most popular girl in school suddenly into him?). He also has several new problems to juggle including magic tutoring from Death, a new football coach who literally wants to kill him, and hoards of demons who are trying to collect on the newly placed bounty on his head. Never a dull moment for Nick.
Not quite as good as INFINITY, but still excellent in it's own right, INVINCIBLE is a great read for any age and any sex. While you don't need to have read the Dark-Hunter series to enjoy this book (and those are definitely not YA), you probably do need to read INFINITY first since INVICIBLE picks up immediately after the events from that book and Kenyon doesn't waste time rehashing what's already happened. No word yet on the title or release date for the next book in the Chronicles of Nick book, which frankly borders on cruel given the awesome/horrible way INVINCIBLE ended. Whatever it's called, wherever it comes out, I'll be reading it.

This series, is so addicting to me. Evalle is one kicked, beaten, hunted, misunderstood, mistrusted, character. With all her battered history she still fights for others, still puts others first. She is strong, inside and out. She lives with what has been dished out to her and makes the best of it.
Storm-I love Storm, and Evalle. Storm with his lusty black panther strolling around makes me curl at the toes. He had been gone, missing and is now back. Evalle, is his'want' but what are her feelings towards Issack ? Triangle love, twisted all up in a knot. I love it !
Other romances-Quinn, Kazira, Tzader and Brina all are struggling with their romances and all seem no closer to a resolution.
Action- There is a lot of action here. Evalle is hunting her own kind. She has to bring some Alterants to the goddess in a agreement to try to get the Alterants recognized as a race to be protected. But Trolls are killing and seem to be hunting something or someone themselves. Viper steps up and is wither going to kill them or help them, either way it gets bloody. The big-bads are really big and bad. Giant trolls, infused with demon badness and special extras making them very hard to kill. It hardly ever stops, there is so much danger, everywhere.
I really like this series. The characters are uniquely engaging. This book tackled a lot of the fighting and set up situations for a lot of changes in the next book. There was not a lot of movement in this one, more of a building foundation for the next floor. I wanted just one more chapter.

Review Courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales
Quick & Dirty: Another fast-paced, hysterically witty addition to an already fascinating spin off series. We see more characters we love from Kenyon's other books, but there is a lot of build up to this plot that makes most of the plot twists obvious to a careful reader.
Opening Sentence: They say when you're about to die, you see your entire life flash before your eyes.
The Review:
This is the second installment in Sherrilyn Kenyon's spin off and prequel young adult series about Nick Gautier, but she does a great job explaining everything. You don't have to read the Dark Hunters series to understand what's happening, which is great because they're written for two totally different audiences. Both of the books are fast paced and between them only a few days actually happen, though it does seem longer. Invincible picks up right where Infinity left off, so you definitely have to read them in order for the series to make any sense.
There's a lot up in the air in this book. Nick's trying to deal with the zombie attacks and his new supernatural powers, the new friends he's making because of these powers, and his relationship with his mother who he loves more than anyone. If you can read this book and not fall in love with Nick Gautier it'll be a miracle. He's smart, funny, and always has the perfect (usually smart a$$) comeback. As the hero of this series, Nick's perfect because he's not perfect and knows it.
Nick is spending this book trying to take control of his powers with the help of Grimm (Death). Nick has to learn the 10 lessons to harness his powers as the Malachi or the entire world ends. As if that wasn't frustrating enough, at the same time teenage boys are dying all around the city and Nick seems to be being stalked. Given the zombie catastrophe that struck the school in Infinity, they've hired a new football coach-and Nick's not sure he's all that he says he is.
This book has a lot more characterization than Infinity, which made for a number of touching moments for the reader. The witty conversation reveals a lot about the characters, even as it helps move the plot forward. And the plot isn't what you'd expect of a vampire/werewolf story. First, they aren't really vampires, but Dark Hunters and also because it's so involved in necromancy, ancient magic, and the gods. And zombies, we can't forget they have zombies!
Perhaps one of the best aspects of Invincible is that Nick has grown up. The annoying boy from the first book is gone, and Nick is ready to head into this supernatural world to keep his mom safe. It was an incredibly easy book to read, probably because the plot line was so action packed and the characters so much fun. It was constructed a lot better than the first book where the author was trying to keep secrets from the reader and only succeeded in making it more confusing.
But be warned: There are cliffhangers! You're going to be dying for the third book when you finally get to put this one down. It's going to be hard to wait for the third book, Infamous, which hits shelves February 1, 2012.
The Chronicles of Nick Series:
1. Infinity
2. Invincible
3. Infamous
FTC Advisory: St. Martin's Griffin provided me with a copy of Invincible. No goody bags, sponsorships, "material connections," or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Invincible starts where Infinity left off. Nick Gautier has just battled zombies and is given no time to lick his wounds. Nick must start learning to use his powers and quickly before his enemies find him. As if that wasn't enough pressure to place on his 14 year old shoulders, his new principle is looking for a reason to kick Nick out of his privileged school and the new football coach plans on using Nick off the field in order to accomplish his wicked plan. His classmates are being murdered and if Nick doesn't learn how to tap into his immense and unknown powers, he may be next.
Nick is forced to face the reality that there are dangerous creatures who don't just want him dead. The demons want his very soul and the vast powers that he never knew he had. He is also told that the choices he makes will sway him to become someone good or the will be the one to bring about the end. This is a lot for anyone to hear and Nick understandably has his moments of doubt and wishes he could pass this responsibly to another. But he stays true to who he is and his character. He's a teenager so he says and does things that will grate anyone's nerves but he is selfless in his actions and is a better person than a lot of adults. Nick's been dealt a bad hand with a murderous demon father and lives in poverty with his mother but he hasn't lost his sense of humor and everything that makes him one of my favorite characters.
Caleb and Nekoda return as Nick's protectors. Caleb started protecting Nick because he had to, which he still does, but I believe he's starting to actually care for Nick like a friend. Nekoda had a set opinion about Nick at first but like Caleb, she too has fallen for Nick's lovable personality. I'm interested to see how these two change as the series goes along. I'm a big fan of Kenyon's Dark Hunter series and I was excited to see familiar faces. Kyrian, Acheron, Simi, several Peltiers and more make an appearance. I didn't think any of their scenes were long enough.
Demons have begun to hunt Nick. A large part of the book is spent on others teaching him how to tap into his powers so he can defend himself while imparting on him the importance of his actions. I felt the demon attacks ended to quickly and the story involving the new coach really threw off the momentum of the book. Yes, it does tie in to the main plot of the story but I wouldn't have missed it if it was left out of the book. This book had a darker feel to it than its predecessor. It seems both humans and paranormal creatures of all types are plotting against Nick and I understand that he's to become a very powerful and important part of the Dark Hunter world, but it seemed like too much too soon. Though this wasn't my favorite book in the series, I still enjoyed Invincible. Nick's humor, love for his mother, devotion to his friends and determination to never give up is what draws me to this series. I look forward to seeing seeing what bazaar situations he and his friends find themselves in next.

I like this retelling of Nick's story. We met him in the second full book of the Dark-Hunter series (Night Pleasures) while he worked for Kyrian. His character developed over the series being a good friend to Acheron and a Squire amongst the Dark-Hunters. It wasn't until he got involved with Simi that things went horribly wrong.
If you haven't read this far into the series, don't keep reading. Nick's mother died because of something Ash said and Nick sought Artemis because he wanted to kill Ash but that didn't happen. As it was Nick has become bitter and now hates Ash. Despite everything that has happened Nick and Ash still appear to be on the same side going so far as to help Ash save the woman he loves. But Nick still wants vengeance.
But that is all in the first time-line. In the Chronicles of Nick series Nick as his future self is changing young Nick's past. Young Nick is still working for Kyrian but Nick is learning who and what he is along with what and who people are around him. This in an attempt by his older self to save the world that older Nick is fated to destroy.
What I love is that while this is the overall arch of the series, Kenyon makes obstacles in each book for young Nick. In the first, it was to stop the Zombies from overrunning New Orleans and in this book it is to stop a soul stealing coach and stop 14 year old boys from dying.
It is like Nick has his own crew though at times, when Nick comes up against something he doesn't think he can handle, you keep wondering why he doesn't bring Ash into it since at this stage they are still friends despite older Nick's warnings that Ash isn't Nick's friend. Frankly, I think it is the anger talking.
This series is wonder with great twists and turns, new things to learn about different character and a whole subset of the Dark-Hunter world.

The very first thing I need to address in this review is that the dialect dialogue (say that 10 times fast) that I complained so much about in Infinity was totally not an issue in Invincible. It wasn't completely gone, but it didn't overwhelm the book. If anything, this was enough to bump the book and Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing up a notch in my opinion.
Nick's still only fourteen years old when this story takes place so there isn't much going on in the romance department. Some...so it's not quite non-existent, but not as much as I prefer out of this genre. The love story (at this point) definitely is nowhere near the driving force in this novel, and that's perfectly fine this time.
I really like the play on whether or not we can change our destinies or whether or not everything we do to change our destinies really just leads us all the more close to them. Some aspects of Invincible lead me to believe that Nick has already changed his destiny, but the entire book is really about keeping you guessing on this question.
Other than that, I don't really have much to say about Invincible. I like the direction this series appears to be headed, and I enjoyed Invincible a heap more than I did Infinity. Giving 4 Stars to Invincible.
Have you read Invincible or The Chronicles of Nick? If so, what did you think? Let me know!

I am just finishing Bk 3 of this series and purchased Bk 4. This may be the last one I read. By BK 2 I noticed the numerous characters being added to each book, loved them and looked forward to their own books. By Bk 3, when more characters were added and nothing was being finalized with any other past characters I started wondering if this is just one big money making machine. These are 400 page books and by the time you finish them you have gone no where. I love this series which is why since I found them a few weeks ago I have been reading them one after another (all night long). But, I'm not rich and I don't want to be in a nursing home on Medicaid while Evalle is still kissing Storm and playing around with Isak Nyght on Book 14. Come on writers- give Brinna her baby, Evalle "somebody", kill off the trolls and get on with it. Bk 4 is the last chance I'm giving you, then my money is going to stand alone novels.

What I loved about Infinity, the first book in Sherrilyn Kenyon's new young adult series, is the action. Infinity contained non-stop action and intricate plot twists and mysteries. This, in my opinion, is what made Infinity such a fantastic read.
Of course Invincible, the second book in the series, does not contain even a tenth of the action Infinity held. Instead Invincible slows down the Chronicles of Nick story and focuses on the mysteries and motives behind each of the warring parties over Nick's future. To me this was interesting and certainly grabbed my attention, but I would have liked to have gotten just a little bit more action, instead of just the final sequence at the end.
Also while I found the scenes from Nick's possible future interesting, I found myself wanted to know more about the other characters. Kenyon threw so many characters with different motives into the first book that she has to sort them out at some point in time, she only barely begins the process in Invincible. Really besides the lack of action what I felt Invincible lacked were the comical and enticing side characters (Bubba, Simi, Acheron, Kyrian) that really made Infinity more robust.
All in all Invincible was not as good as it's predecessor but it is far from bad. Instead it had the unfortunate task of being written after a fantastic action packed installment in a great series. And while I was disappointed with certain aspects I would easily recommend this book to fellow readers and personally plan to read the next installment in the series, Infamous, next year.

A perfect sequel.
We all fell in love with Nick and his New Orleans surroundings in Infinity, the first book from this series. Where Kenyon takes a few characters from her widley popular adult series 'Dark Hunter' and puts them in a world where fourteen year old Nick lives. It's a young adult book series but doesn't fail to entertain just about anyone that reads it.
Once more, nothing is normal when it comes to Nick and his life. After the whole zombie thing from the first book one might think that Nick would get a little time off. You know a break from all things dark and demon. But no, the world decides that Nick's life is to be what most would call 'interesting'. He's barely even taken a breath since the events of the last book, and it's sequel picks right up where the last stopped. Not even a day has passed. But now Nick has to figure out what these powers of his are, how to use them, and along the way learns many secrets about himself as well as meeting a bunch of people he'd never imagined.
But trouble looms again, like a heavy shadow over his world. Because, danger and evil have come to the bustling city of New Orleans, and Nick is right in the middle of it. Now it's a race against time, to not only save his own hide, but those of the people at school. Again.
Nick returns in another great novel. Kenyon has proven herself an amazing author time and time again. Nick is back with his full on sarcasm and phrases that keep you laughing page after page. His snarky attitude is what makes these books so very entertaining. There is very little of Acheron (pout) but I feel that he will play more of a role in later books, he's being set up in this one for something 'greater'.
I loved this book. While I loved the first one more, this was a fantastic set up. It moved fairly quickly, and you got to see Nick trying to figure out the powers that he has and what to do with them. You learn more about Caleb and Nekoda, a bit more about Simi and Kyrian, and others. It's a book that really unfolds more of the mysteries about the series while also giving you more food for thought.
An amazing sequel and a definite must read.

I really love this series. It just keeps getting better and better. One thing I love about this series is Nick. He is such a great character that can not only be strong but has this great sense of humor that makes me laugh so much through the book.
This book starts where the last book ended. Nick's school is still shut down and there are still some strange things going on. This time under the wing of a Dark Hunter, Nick begins to learn what his future has install for him. The plot line of this book is very fast and very easy to fall into. While I was reading this book, I hadn't even realize I was already on page 100, it went by so fast. That's how good it is. Every single word, every page is filled with non-stop action. As the reader, you just step in the world of Nick Gautier and you don't want to leave.
Another thing I enjoyed about this book is the relationship with his mom. She is so sweet, caring mother that I adore this lady! She doesn't like to take charity and is very protective of her son. I like that while she is not caught up with what is actually happening in Nick life, she is always there for him. I love that she works hard and does what she can for Nick.
Nick's friends are just crazier as ever! We learn more about Bubba, Caleb, and the rest of the zombie killing crew. I love reading more about these minor characters and their lives. Though it may seem that they are minor, they play a big part in Nick's like and his future.
If you have not read this series, you should pick it up. It is definitely one great read and something you never forget. Nick and his adventure is something you want to read now!

Sherrilyn Kenyon continues her YA Dark-Hunter companion series, with this second installment of The Chronicles of Nick. Invincible picks up mere seconds after the conclusion of Infinity, with Nick's revelation that his boss Kyrian is something other than human. I have to say that this was a little disappointing. I had hoped that Nick would age with each book as he grew closer to the timeline of the DH books where he first appeared. But alas, he is still 14.
Thankfully, though, this installment did not have any zombies. Instead, it focused more on Nick as he begins to realize more of his powers. The backdrop story is an evil football coach who is blackmailing Nick, while (in a series of deaths which may or may not be unrelated) 14 year-old boys at Nick's school are showing up dead.
Ambrose, or future-Nick, is back, trying to guide his younger self into making better decisions. Also showing up to guide Nick are Caleb (a demon) and Kody (some kind of immortal there to make sure Nick doesn't go all evil.) Caleb seems to be developing a soft spot for the teen. And Kody seems to be getting romantic feelings for him. Which is creepy, because he is 14... and while she looks like a teen, she is clearly much older.
Nick's mom starts the job at Sanctuary that we've heard so much about in Nick's future. And Savitar makes a squee-worthy appearance, though sadly it is short.
I don't really know how I feel about this series. And maybe that's because I am so clueless as to the endgame AND how it will eventually work itself into the DH universe. I definitely liked it better than Infinity. And I have my fingers crossed that as Nick grows into his later teen years, I'll enjoy them more. 4 stars?

So in Infinity you kind of got a small piece of the puzzle that there is something going on behind the scenes of the story, but you don't know what exactly. In Invincible you get a much larger piece of that puzzle, so hopefully it makes more sense to those who haven't read The Dark Hunter series.
As a reader of the Dark Hunter series, it is really entertaining to see Nick as a kid. Plus Nick says just about every smart remark he can think of and then some.
Perfect example of Nick's sarcasm:
"Stop a minute and listen. I know I'm asking the impossible from you, but for once in your life, shut our mouth and open your ears."
"I'm not the one talking"
"Kyrian snarled at him. "Don't get smart with me."
"You want me stupid?"
"Nick..."
Now since Ambrose is awakening Nick's powers a little early and changing some events, more and more bad guys are coming after Nick.
The whole deal with the football coach, makes it so that Nick doesn't really have time to realize that someone who he thinks is a friend is actually one of his worst enemies. You get to realize it as you read the scenes.
We get to see Bubba and Mark again, who are seriously some of the weirdest folks ever but are truly hilarious. Especially Mark's weird fascination that duck urine will keep him safe.
Nick gets to meet everyone at Sanctuary, so it was great seeing how he met everyone there. Plus it's nice seeing a few familiar faces.
I love Sherrilyn Kenyon's books and I really love the sarcastic and very charming Nick who would do anything for his mother, including threaten people much bigger than him. I can't wait for more of Nick's story.

The Chronicles of Nick is a young adult offshoot from Sherrilyn Kenyon's popular Dark-Hunter romance series. I've tried reading a few of the Dark-Hunter books since reading INFINITY in order to fill in the backstory. I enjoyed the romance, but was left very confused. In the Dark-Hunter I read, Nick Gaultier is this angry guy who goes about messing up people's plans. In the Chronicles of Nick, he's a sweet boy being hunted by a variety of nasties.
The monster of the week is Devus, the new coach at Nick's high school. If Nick doesn't steal objects from his classmates, he'll end up dead. But Nick has even bigger fish to fry. He's still learning to use his powers, and Death himself has shown up as a teacher. Caleb and Nekoda keep showing up as well, and Nick can't decide whether to trust them or not. Meanwhile an older version of Nick is running around apparently mucking things up. (His bad judgment gives him away as the Dark-Hunter guy, I guess.)
There are a lot of characters and motives to keep track of, but I just went with the flow while reading INVINCIBLE. It's a real popcorn book - vague prophecies, a hint of romance, a lot of action. A book this high in entertainment value is a great way to start a long day of reading.

Are you a fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon's writings ? Are you familiar with her Dark Hunter series , featuring the hunters who are under the reign of Artemis ?
Author Sherrilyn Kenyon has written a series aimed at teenagers and boys in particular will enjoy this series also. I've read a couple of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books including the first one in this series "Infinity" and the thing that stands out is that this is really a fast paced read, it's one of the few paranormal type books that once you get started you have to continue reading and the pages just fly on by.
Invincible starts where Infinity finished off , at the end of Infinity we read as Nick and his friends were killing off human zombies as the school's football team were turned and their target Nick Gautier. It seems that Nick holds alot of powers and can be quite the asset , however he is just like any average fourteen year old boy - a pain in the bum and all he can think about is scoring girls and playing video games - this last one though, in my personal opinion -guys do not grow out of this :). We read in Invincible as Nick teams up with the Grim Reaper as his trainer and watch as Nick must try and escape from a Wraith- the new football coach Devus and of course you will find yourself chuckling along as Sherrilyn injects her humour in the novel and ever wondered why Bubba is in love with Oprah ?

What can I say? I was totally overjoyed when this audiobook arrived unannounced on my doorstep the other week. INFINITY took me totally by surprise (read - I LOVED it!) and left me waiting impatiently for the follow-up action in Nick Gautier's life. And I'm pleased to report that INVINCIBLE did NOT disappoint.
Holter Graham picks up the action of INVINCIBLE from the first words of the story. Immediately, the listener is transported back to New Orleans and the battle of good and evil that is happening around Nick.
Mr. Graham continues to entrance the listener with all of the different characters that are in the CHRONICLES OF NICK series - from Nick's mom, to Kyrian, Caleb his demon bodyguard, Bubba and Mark, his girlfriend (?!) Coda, Grim (yes, as in Death) and all the other new characters that come into play in the second installment of the series.
Nick survives the zombies from the first book only to have the new football coach trap him into stealing items from various students at school. And to make matters worse, someone is out there murdering 14-year-old boys - leaving Nick to believe that he could be next on that list.
I absolutely could not stop listening to this story. The sarcasm that Nick exhibits is brilliantly displayed. The situations Nick finds himself in leave you laughing out loud as you listen to Mr. Graham tell the story. He is the perfect narrator for this series, and I am already anxiously waiting for any future novels.

When last we saw Evalle as had escaped a life time of imprisonment but promised to bring Macha a Alterant that would pledge to her.
This sounded like it could be done, Tristan would jump at the possibility to save their kind she thought..and then things got progressively worse.
Thoughts and accusations of Quinn being a traitor, Izak trying to kill any non human, a rash of Troll attacks across the city and then to top it off Storm.
Storm Evalle had to admit her feelings for the track/shaman.What powers did Storm have she wondered and woulld she ever really understand men?
As the battle draws closer their feelings become plainer for everyone to see and then Evalle does the unthinkable.....she shifts to her Alterant form completely and within sight of all......
The growing relationship between Evalle and Storm is wonderfully written and not rushed as all good one take time.
This story and the character's grow and mature with each installment..look forward tot he next.

Brief summary
Nick now knows that the world is not what it seems and he's trying to figure out his part in everything. Then his coach blackmails him into stealing his teammates personal belongings. Nick doesn't want to do it, but with the threat of death looming over his head, he feels like he has no choice. Add that to all of the stress he's feeling because he doesn't know who he can trust, and Nick has a major headache brewing.
What I liked
I love Nick's attitude and there were a number of times when I laughed out loud while I was reading. I enjoyed seeing more of Nick's powers emerge and I'm excited to see what else he can do!
What I didn't like
This story was interesting, but I felt like things wrapped up a bit too fast and easily at the end.
Brief thoughts
There wasn't enough of the wow factor for me to give this 5 stars, but I still have to say that it's a fast and entertaining read. I'm looking forward to reading book 3.

The Curse by Sherrilyn Kenyon is book 3 in The Beladors series. It is a great addition to the series. Picking up shortly after it left off in the previous book. In this book you meet a few new characters and a new kinds of "non humans". We also get a little more info on the Beladors. The book takes you on a crazy roller coaster of emotions. The emotions I felt when Evalle was thinking about Sen and the Tribunal made my anger fly right off the charts. In other parts I felt like Evalle had lived a part of my life when it came to relationships. You could be happy one minute and pissed in another. That is what makes a book great.
Since this book is very continuous and there is a lot that could spoil a book I want to keep this short.
However, I will say this I am torn between Storm and Isak. We get to see more of them. The last book I was pro Storm same with the first book. Now I am leaning more toward Isak but it is still a close call.

Once again, Sherrilyn Kenyon and Dianna Love have worked magic.
I sat forward and went "WHAT????" and "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" a few times, and in other moments I was fist-pumping with a "Yes!"
The one thing I can say about this writing team is that they pull no punches when they tell a story. They are not afraid to take characters to the edge, from thrilling highs of achievement against impossible odds, to the absolute lows of wondering if a character you love has gone to the dark side.
I will not give spoilers, because I hate spoilers, but if you love Urban Fantasy and you want a good read, this series is for you, and this book is the best in the series so far.
Read it. You'll love it.

I only gave Invincible 3 stars. Not because it wasn't a great book, it was, it just took to long to really get to the meat of the story. There was a lot of character building which is fun and important but there wasn't much else going on. It was like 200 pages of expanding new and already established characters. When the plot really started to pick up and get juicy, it ended. I guess thats a good set up for the next book in the series though because now i'm dying to know what happens next. Coolest thing about this book is it picked up exactly where it left off in Infinity. Like exactly, you could easily make this one huge book with no lag time. I enjoy that approach better then the next book being say six weeks or six months later. You feel more involved with the story because you were never outside of it. You are there when everything happens, theres no rehashing of details you missed between books. That being said it was an enjoyable read and i'm excited for Infamous the next title in the series. 3 out of 5

Nick's learning and adventures into the supernatural world continue. The arrival of Coach Divas who singles Nick out as his lackey adds a new wrinkle to Nick's life as well.
Richly described scenes and characters fill the story. Characters from previous episodes continue to develop and grow while new characters are introduced who also develop.
The narrative has multiple focuses with the shorter resolving within this book and the overarching storyline continuing onward. Plenty of action is present throughout the book which adds to the intensity of the story. However, humor is interspersed enough to allow for greater enjoyment.
Overall, a fun read!

Book two of The Chronicles of Nick is everything one could expect...
As a young adult book it is definitely an easy read. It's a nice "in between" book if you're looking for something light to pass the time.
This book picks up right where Infinity left off, with Nick trying to figure out his new powers with the dubious "help" of his new friends and his ever-present uncle.
Readers of the Dark Hunter series will appreciate the little lines that tie the two together (like "NEVER touch the Simi") and the appearances of familiar characters through Nick's eyes are fun.
If you're looking for a continuation of the Dark Hunters story, this isn't it. But if you're looking for some awesome background to current events in that series, this is definitely worth the read!

If you want non-stop action, intrigue and hot heroes and heroines this is the series for you. I am tired for Evalle and company. Poor buggers don't get a break. I recommend you read the first two books before this. You could jump in but you would miss a lot of the dynamics that it took to get these characters to where they are. Besides they too are terrific reads.
Evalle has two days to make good on a promise to a Goddess all while still doing her regular Viper job of keeping humanity safe and now it seems as though she is a troll magnet. Staying alive and fulfilling her obligations is taking every moment of her time. Evalle is growing, evolving both physically and emotionally.
I loved this book

As they have done for centuries, the purebred Beladors protect humans from the others like demons. However, though their cause is worthy, the Beladors are intolerant towards the half-breed Alterants, who are mostly incarcerated. Thus one of the few freed Alterant Evalle Kincaid knows she is a scorned outsider by those she has lived with all her life. In spite of her courage and achievements risking her life to protect the humans and the Beladors (see Alterant and Blood Trinity), she remains unacceptable as illogically her tribe prefers her dead or locked away as trash.
The demonic Trolls assault Atlanta so Evalle, though used to being alone, joins with Black Ops specialist Isak Nyght to end the gang urban warfare while also struggling to understand her relationship with Storm the skinwalker though the latter is on hold. When Evalle realizes she is the key for the enemy to commit genocide by killing the queen and the other Beladors, she takes a gambit to find other Alterants while knowing the Tribunal will not accept her rationale of saving their lives when they lock her away.
The third Beladors urban fantasy (see Alterant and Blood Trinity) is an exciting thriller as a multi-species war leaves Atlanta unsafe for anyone. The various paranormals seem genuine as they turn Peachtree into a battle zone. Although there are too many key characters making the storyline overly complicated, sub-genre readers will enjoy Evalle's adventures to save the humans and purebreds who scorn her.

I'm so loving this series, Nick was always one of my favorite characters in the Dark Hunters series. SO it would go without reason that I would love him in his own series. But now I'm curious if that the things that are happening to Nick now is going to change the course for Nick in the Dark Hunter series??? Because in the Dark Hunters series he didn't know he was anything but human, and in TCoN he knows he isn't fully human, and that he is someone who will end up ending the world in his future. It's something to ponder on as I work my way through the rest of the series, and the upcoming books in the Dark Hunters series.

What on earth is this book and its predecessor supposed to be? Kenyon keeps readers waiting for years for Nick's story, and when it finally comes it begins in two over-short books that cover little more than a month of his life as a fourteen-year-old. Zzzzzzzzz. Sure, we get to see how he meets Kyrian and Acheron - but then those two key (and, let's face it, actually *interesting*) characters are brushed aside in favour of other characters who don't engage at all. It gets completely ridiculous when Nick, who knows what Ash and Kyrian are capable of, doesn't even think to call Kyrian during the numerous times he winds up in trouble, despite having a Blackberry with Kyrian's number programmed into it.
I wanted to see what happened to Nick after his fight with Acheron and his deal with Artemis. If the series carries on at this rate, we'll be into book 200 before that happens. Not worth sticking around for. But then I should have expected this - I resolved to give up on Kenyon after the last several of her Dark-Hunter books were so incredibly formulaic and disappointing, even the long-awaited Acheron book. I was right to borrow these two Nick books rather than wasting money on them, and I advise other readers to do the same.

Having just survived the Zombie attacks Nick was looking for a nice normal day of school. Instead he is attacked by demons. Recruited for the football team, only to find out his coach has something other then football in mind for him. Oh and on top of all this the girl he likes is hiding something from him. Can't a kid just get a break! Sherrilyn Kenyon has once again woven a story filled with humor and heart. Well worth the read.

I'd have to say as far as YA series go, this is probably one of my favorite for paranormal/supernatural type stuff. I just absolutely love Nick in the Dark Hunter series and to learn about him when he was a kid is even extra fabulous. I'm looking forward to reading about how things turn out cause for any of you that have read the DH books, you know some things happen to make life difficult for Nick. My prediction is that he's going to try and change certain events. Can't wait to see what those changes bring. Sherrilyn always has a way of keeping me on my toes with her books. :

Although I love Kenyon, this one made you think something awesome was going to happen, then nothing. I was dissappointed in this one. I got towards the end and thought, dang it! Im not sure if I will waste my time on the third one.... I think I'll stick with the adult version Dark Hunter series. I was hoping to get more of a back story on Nick since he's in the series so much, still havent learned a thing in both books. Oh and not sure why Nicks so nice in his two books but rude in the dark hunter series.... hum
This book is still way better than the one Im currently reading (sookie stackhouse series Dead reckoning)

I wasn't that big of a fan of the first Chronicles of Nick book, Infinity. I AM a fan of the second though. I really enjoyed this book and the Nick character. The story isn't as dramatic as the summary makes it out to be. I thought the story was better. It was almost halfway through the book before Nick said "gah" (which really got on my nerves in the last book) and when he did say it, it was at completely believable points. I might even say "gah" if I were in that particular predicament.
At the beginning of this book, Nick and his mother are getting settled into a new job that Kyrian has arranged for Nick's mom at Sanctuary which, if you have read the Dark Hunter books, you know to be the sanctuary where shifters go. Nothing bad goes down at Sanctuary, but all the bads hang out there. Nick tries to restore his school life after the zombie attacks from book 1 and, while doing so, he gets some lessons from Death himself. He also gets some lessons from his Uncle Ambrose who is suspiciously a lot like Nick himself. There are also some great supporting characters, Caleb and Nekoda, both demons that are sent to protect Nick. And of course, there's Simi who is everyone's favorite demon also from the Dark Hunter books.
Nick has some issues with a coach who wants him to steal personal items from schoolmates to use against them in an ancient spell which will kill them all. Nick is also being threatened by demons from all over the place that are trying to kill him before something awful happens. It's a lot going on. Nick tries to cope with things as best as he can while trying to remain a good Momma's boy and a good kid.
As I said at the beginning, this is a good story. It's exciting and an excellent stepping stone to the next book. I'm now anxious to see what happens to Nick next and what will happen between him and the other characters I am now addicted to.
What I liked: I don't want to keep saying this, but the story was really good. It was exciting and interesting. I really enjoyed it. The first book's story wasn't all that for me but this one not only carried me through this book, but it makes me want to pick up the third book.
What I disliked: I can't believe I'm saying this, but I disliked Acheron and Kyrian in this book. I felt like they weren't part of the story, but placed there to link the Dark Hunter books. It just felt like it wasn't necessary. It wasn't part of the story. It didn't bother me enough to even take a rating mark away though.

I have to admit that I am really surprised by all the negative reviews. I think this series is witty, incredibly imaginative and all around good fun. To see the way Nick's life is changing due to Nick Ambrose is exciting and to me it takes such great imagination for Kenyon to come up with an alternate reality to her already alternate reality. The only thing I'd like to have seen more of was Kyrian. He was missing from this book and I really liked seeing his and Nick's relationship grow in the first book. Their bantor was great. I think if you want to read this series go into it with an open mind and try to remember what it is like to be a teenager. I am eagerly awaiting the next release!

This book reveals a little more of the world Kenyon painted for us is the first book as well as that of the Dark-Hunters. You learn as you go along that you can't judge a book by its cover and that the smallest decisions - turning left instead of right - can effect our lives, our very destinies, in unforeseen ways.
In this book you meet new friends and learn more about old ones as Nick faces off with a homicidal football coach. There are plenty of twists and turns on this crazy ride. I enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait for the next book.

He's one of my favorite characters. The action in this book is amazing and Nick's reaction to things...So realistic! I love him! I have been a fan of the dark hunter series for years and finally decided to start reading the chronicles of Nick. I wasn't sure what to expect since they are for young adults, but I have to say I love them. They add a whole new twist to the dark hunter series and allow the reader to get to know more about Nick and his mom. Not to mention more Kyrian and Acheron. What's not to love? I can't wait for more in this series.

I like chronicles of Nick series the best, because it doesn't have all the sex scenes in them but great story lines. I wish ash and nick can get their friendship back. Nick is a teen age boy who is learning about a whole different life in the shadows with different powers he is comming into. He has different people around him that want different things for him. Some want to kill him and take his powers before he can learn them. some are his protectors. We know that thier is a lot of deception around him. Nick is not sure who trust. Thier a lot of familar characters of the dark hunter world of books. Because the past has been changed you dont know how those characters can be changed too. I enjoyed the book.

I loved the Dark Hunter series and was willing to give the Chromicles of Nick a chance. But this is just so inconsistent. His mom seems awful, I cringe when they mention Bubba and the good parts focusing on Nick discovering the mysteries about his future, are few and far between.
I have to face the fact that I am reading these books for any DH connections and I am just waiting for this series to circle back and connect to the "real" one.

I am pretty saddend by this book. The last book set things up in the 'past' with Nick at 14 so I was actually expecting this work to focus more on 'present Nick' and how attempting to change things worked for him good or bad. However, she wrote more of the same as the last work. Usually I SWALLOW her books and can't put them down until I finish them, but this one and the last took me almost 2 weeks to read each. I hope that Kenyon moves beyond this, she is such a great author but as a dedicated fan I feel as though she is seeking to incorporate the 'teen audience' more and in doing so is loosing much of who her characters are overall. Like the last book, I will be selling this one back to the store. At least my daughter can read it though /shrug

Another great story into Nick's past. I love finding more about Nick's life and the lives of his friend's. This is one of those books that is so hard to put down or stop reading. It has so much action and even a bit of romance.

LOVED! Nick, he just sounds so cute.Loved the action and the developing romance. His attitude is still on point. The sarcasm, I love it! I wish there was more of Kyrian in this book. He's one of my favorite characters. The action in this book is amazing and Nick's reaction to things...So realistic! I love him! The ending with him and Ambrose. *SIGH* Cant wait to see how that all goes down great series! Cant wait for the next book! This is an amazing series, if you have not check it out, you should

Evalle got into a little more than she bargained for in this book. This installment of the Belador series is more action packed and full of surprises. Each chapter leads you down on a path of suspense and thrills as you try to figure out what is going to happen next.

Oh my goodness, Invincible was just as good as the first one. I finished this audiobook immediately after Infinity a month ago. This story is still stuck in my head and book 3, Infamous, comes out in March! Another book I know will be added to my favorites list.
Invincible picks up immediately where Infinity left off. Nicks has recently found out everyone he knows is some supernatural creature of some kind. He now also knows that his mom now works for and with a whole group of them. This, of course, has Nick a little on edge. If that wasn't enough, he is becoming friends with Death. Things seem to be looking up though; Nick is finally back on the football team. But it seems his new coach has drafted him for far more than playing football. Just another day in New Orleans.
It is impossible not to love this series. It is just so frakking amazing. The characters are even more incredible this time around. Nick is still to die for. A great hero, who is strong, unsure, and has a tongue too sharp for his own good. We get deeper into Kody's story and see what her role really is in all of this. It is pretty amazing and I like that it is more complicated than I thought. I love how she questions herself when it comes to Nick. It lets us know she will fight for him to become a better man and not what he is destined to be. Definitely can't wait to see how this will pan out.
And we get more of Nick and his mom. Like I said about Infinity, one of the most beautiful things about the book is Nick's love for his mother. He would do anything for her, it is just so nice. He gets her get a job (with Kyrian's help) after she loses it (because of him), but she doesn't know she is working with supernatural creatures yet. I am looking forward to seeing how long Nick can keep this a secret from her and what her reaction would be.
I love how the plot develops in this book. Nick's school has a new coach that wants Nick to steal from his fellow classmates. If he doesn't, Nick may or may not die "by accident". The coach needs very specific items from these students, not copies that could be easily bought. When we find out what it is really all about and what this coach has done to get it, it is beyond anything I could have imagined. I love where this went and what we learn. Why the hell isn't this a tv show already or something?
I love Invincible just as much as I loved Infinity. This book was a tad more serious than the first because we get more story not only from the main characters, but some of the very memorable side characters. My favorite was the story of why Bubba watches Oprah. I was listening to this part in my car driving home and I was in tears driving down the street. You literally go from crying one second to laughing the next. If you haven't read anything from Kenyon, I urge you to. This is truly all I could ask for in a book and the fact that it is YA makes it even better. And as I said in my Infinity review, get the audiobook for the amazing narrator Holter Graham. If you are reading this, can you marry me?

Kenyon just gets better and better with every new book. This one was absolutely fantastic! It was hilarious, fast-paced, action-packed and left you wanting more. I can't wait for the next book in the series! I will admit that I am a bit anxious about her literally re-writing history, but she never disappoints so hopefully everything turns out well.

Infinity(the first book) was GREAT...and Invincible picks up exactly where the first book left off. That was awesome and unexpected. Of course, there is a cliffhanger in book two and I'm sure book three will pick up mere seconds after it...can't wait. Overall, GREAT book!! Loved it!!

Nick Gautier will steal your heart! My favorite part is that there are tons of other stories that come before this and we get to learn so much about the characters. I'm not going to spoil anything for you but I will say that if you love Sherrilyn's other stories then maybe you'll learn something extra about one of your favorite characters in Infinity and Invincible. Great YA stories with all our favorite fantasy characters plus some we never thought we would love!

I've read Sherrilyn Kenyon and LOVE all her series so I thought I'd give her correlation with Dianna Love a try. I was not disappointed. The characters were great and the story lines intriguing. A bit repetitive but still very good. Looking forward to the next one!

This book picks up right at the moment book one left off. Nick learns that his boss Kyrian is more than he seemed. The new coach at his school wants him back on the team and doing some questionable things for him as well. Learning his new abilities is proving more difficult then he would expect. Will he be able to learn the skills he needs to keep himself safe? A really good YA read.
