I totally enjoyed this story. It had touches of action, mystery, suspense, love, humor and plenty of magic. Great characters that will definitely grow on you. I am looking forward to the second in this series. Great writing by a gifted author. Highly recommended!

I have to preface my review with the statement that I do not care for fantasy nor romance; I am a fan of mysteries. Althea Rose is a psychic in business with her best friend Luna, a white witch. Althea memorizes a spell which allows her to break the ties on her hands, on her friend's hands, and breaks the lock on the building in which they are captive. She is able to "communicate" with others by visualizing and "hearing " them. A friend forsees danger and prepares her a gris-gris. The same friend again sees danger and prepares her a pouch which will be whatever she needs and turns into an explosive device in order for them to escape gunmen. There's also a love triangle with Althea, her lifelong friend Trace, and a ever so handsome man new on the scene named Cash. When Althea "sees" death when she looks at 3 men, I knew too soonwho the murderer was OH MY, I was given this book by GoodReads for an honest review. This was not for me. But for those that can suspend judgement, that like fantasy, psychics, magic, this may be enjoyable.

This is a fun and quick read. It had new takes on other books I have read in the past. I enjoyed the connection that she and her new love interest, Cash, were developing. Even tho her abilities were new to Cash, he validated Althea's abilities and called upon them to help him save her toward the end. Enjoyed this a lot.

I know I picked this up for free from a mystery site (thanks to the author for making it free) and I knew it was a ‘love kissed’ one but sadly in this case that meant love triangle, a very tiring one which was the only down side to the novel: a large unresolved triangle but I’m getting ahead of myself.

Althea Rose is a psychic whose mom is a well known psychic. She runs a shop, the Luna Rose, with her best friend, Luna, a white witch. They’re also good friends with, Beau, a gay bartender who wants to get his own restaurant for Tequila Key (a sleepy key off the Florida coast) and with Trace, the man Thea scuba dives with. Beau introduces her and Luna to Cash and his business partner and immediately Cash is asking Thea out and Luna goes out with the partner.

In short order the partner is dead, Luna is suspected of doing it by a rather terrible sheriff and Thea isn’t sure if Cash is completely innocent but she wants him to be. But the onion in the ointment here is suddenly Trace is in her face screaming about ‘why not him?’ meanwhile he’s never asked her out which was so annoying.

She’s soon over her head but she has her psychic powers, Luna’s magic (it’s not Harry Potter but it’s real enough) and that of her voodoo practicing friends and that magic is really the key to solving the mystery. I did enjoy the characters except for Thea’s penchant for screaming at people she thinks are hiding stuff and Trace’s approach to romancing Thea. Loved Thea’s Boston Terrier. It’s a cute enough mystery and I’d read another but I’d hope the love triangle gets resolved sooner rather than later.

I wasn't sure if it was going to be good because when they talk of psychics, etc, chances are its done stupid. But this was just enough to know it was definitely possible (I am a believer). The story was great. I am glad to have found a new series. Would definitely buy the rest in the series.
This is not heavy and not too light hearted. Enjoy!

This book was slow getting started Once it did it was a good mystery. I just wasn't about all the magic on the story. The parts about Althea Rose ,where when could decide which man she wanted. Probably this I is not for everyone.

After reading the reviews I ordered this book. The first page was good and it went downhill from there. The main character, Althea was boorish and boring. In fact I never connected to any of the characters. Predictable story. No surprise when the villain was revealed.

It's been many weeks since I've found a book that I really completely enjoyed! Loved Thea, Luna, Beau, Trace, Cash and Miss Elva (the local Voodoo expert) and hope they are all in the next one. Thea is psychic as well as an undersea photographer and is learning she has other gifts also. Luna is a white witch with magical abilities and together these two run Luna Rose Potions & Tarot Shop in a small town called Tequila Key in Florida. On a dive Thea & Trace find a murdered dead body in the ocean that starts a roller coaster ride of intrigue, danger, mystery & fun. I was a little doubtful at first of Thea being 'in lust' with two different men but it was a central part of the story & enjoyable. Can't wait for the next one!
Some swearing etc. but no descriptive sex scenes so it's pretty clean for those who like to know ahead of time like me.

I liked the idea of psychic protagonist (Althea) and a witch (Luna) as her best friend and business partner. That they run a profitable business in a small town is made plausible by the fact that Althea’s mother is a famous, highly regarded psychic. Both characters are likeable, intelligent, and resourceful. Althea’s insecurities about her appearance and her relationships add depth to her character, and the romantic component involving two potential suitors will appeal readers who enjoy romance in their mysteries.

The small-town setting of Tequila One, Florida, is nicely described and the cast of quirky residents adds a light, fun touch to this cozy mystery. One of the most intriguing characters for me was Miss Elva, a high-ranking voodoo priestess. I would have loved to have learned more about her.

Like most cozies, the plot was a little thin, and the cast of suspects rather small. More could have been done to create culprits, find clues, and add a subplot beyond Althea’s romantic dilemma. Still, if you’re looking for a simple, fun read, then this is a good choice.

A great introduction to Tequila Key where the locals include a white witch, a powerful seer and a powerful voodoo queen. Althea Rose is the seer who finds herself caught in a love triangle as she seeks to help the white witch, Luna, who has been falsely accused of murder. The various characters of the small town are each very interesting, and they add much comedy to a story that is highly entertaining. Not a deep or dark story, the book is engrossing and entertaining while maintaining a high level of suspense as Althea's investigation leads her and her friends into danger.

I took advantage of a free promotion on this book, and I really enjoyed it. I love a little magic with my mystery, and a little romance. This book has it all, exotic location, fun characters, multiple love interests, murder and danger for Althea Rose and her friends. It's a romp through the Florida keys with Althea learning some new magical mystical skills to help her out of the messes she stumbles into. I love Miss Elva, the Voodoo Queen who helps her with spells, gris gris and an enchanted bag of protection and more. I'll definitely read more from this author. It was a bucket full of fun with sand and sun.

I loved Ms. O'Malley's Irish romance series which led me to her mystery series. Althea Rose is a psychic reader who shares ownership of a shop with a white witch who supplies a variety of products. Written from Althea's point of view, we are entertained by her sass and wit. Writing in first person is not always easy, so I'm impressed with the author's expertise. The pace moves along, bringing the reader along with it. I always appreciate romance in my mysteries. Althea has two suitors. The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of a sex scene. When I started the second book, it was referenced that they had done the deed. Really? In this day and age, I believe a tasteful sex scene in a mystery book that reflects the character's personalities completes the book. Don't look for it in this one, it's not there. However, the story is fresh, lively and engaging.

I loved this book! I couldn't put it down and read it in 4 hours straight! The setting for the book is Tequila Key. A tropical paradise full of colorful characters, turquoise blue waters, quaint little shops, and a murderer. Althea Rose is the local psychic and she shares a shop with her best friend Luna, who sells potions and crystals. Althea hasn't had much luck in the romance department but suddenly finds herself in a love triangle. Trace has been one of her closest friends for years. They scuba dive together frequently and enjoy each others company but she's never thought of him as anything but a friend. Then, her friend Beau who owns a local bar introduces her to Cash. Cash is the epitome of tall, dark and handsome. He reminds Althea of Channing Tatum. It doesn't hurt that he is also wealthy. She doesn't think someone like that would be interested in her, but he is! She agrees to a date with him, still wondering what he sees in her. It's then she discovers the feelings Trace has been hiding for her all along when he becomes jealous. To make matters worse, her best friend is accused of murder and Althea is the only one that can hopefully solve it so her best friend doesn't spend the rest of her life in jail. The local sheriff however is convinced Luna is guilty. She finds herself getting close to the answers she needs but feels someone is watching her and now she's in danger and fears she could be next. Will Althea be able to track down the murderer before it's too late? Who will save her? Trace? Cash? Who will she choose?

This book had me on the edge of my seat. It had just the right amount of humor, romance, paranormal and mystery. Everything I love. If you read this book you will not be disappointed. I was given an advanced review copy of this book.

Tricia has created some great new characters for her new series. Althea is a psychic. Her best friend, Luna is a white witch. And then there is Miss Elva, a voodoo priestess. They live in tiny Tequila Key, a laid-back Florida community, except when it isn't! Then there are the men: Trace, Althea's friend and diving partner, who seems to want to move beyond friendship, Beau, everyone's favorite bar owner, and Cash, gorgeous new investor, who definitely has designs on Althea. When a murder occurs it takes all of them to solve the crime and keep each other safe. The story moves at a fast pace and keeps the reader totally involved. I can't wait to see what their next adventure will be. I was gifted by the author with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Just finished the first book in this series and immediately purchased the second. I have no doubt I will purchase all in this series. I like a little paranormal and magic which is why I purchased it. I really liked the characters and the Tequila Key location. It was a good mystery. There is not graphic sexual content or gratuitous violence. Well worth the price.

There is a great cast of characters in this light hearted story with paranormal overtones. It was funny and sweet, modestly sexy, and well plotted suspense. Definitely room for more of Althea and the gang.

Tequila Key. The kind of small town that "Opie Taylor" grew up in but in a different time than Mayberry. Althea Rose a pychic and Luna and a White Witch operate a spotions and Tarot shop in Tequila Key. This book is fun to read. The friendly town all of a sudden has a murder to deal with and Althea's partner is accused of it. This investigation and all the characters make for a very fun Light Read!!! Enjoy!!!

Although different from the Mystic Cove series which I loved, One Tequila is a fun story with paranormal elements. The characters Althea and Luna with their zany antics and dialogue keep the reader interested throughout the book. I look forward to reading the next book on the series.

I knew better to try to read this with the knowledge it involved psychics, white witches, voodoo, etc. I agree with one other reviewer who stated it started with a bit of promise in the first couple of pages, but that soon disappeared and the whole premise became murky. The author has talent but this is not a good use of her talent.
