This book got a lot of reviews for uncommon ingredients that aren't easily found and I'd have to agree. The recipes all sound/look delicious but with some pretty unique ingredients, I don't think it's very doable for me personally. Also, I was hoping for some sort of guidelines regarding how much of each macronutrient (fat, protein, carbs) I should be eating but I didn't really see anything like that. I wish I had bought this book used instead of paying full price for what to me is a book full of recipes that require ingredients I can't find easily.

I just received this today. I normally do not read a cookbook from front cover to back cover. However, this one, was made with such quality and the visuals were so pleasing to my eyes! I decided to give it a try! From the forward page to the index - very well written! I really feel like I will be using this daily - just like my Bible. I highly recommend this book if you are trying Keto for the first time. The recipes look delicious. I definitely am going to start using these recipes starting later tonight! I have seen her blog and some of her recipes online and I have tried a couple. I love how precise she is because that makes the recipes fail safe! It’s a big book & plenty of recipes & plenty of tips & great ideas! I bought a couple of things off the store to prepare me for the new recipes. I can’t say how much I recommend this book! Best money I’ve spent so far on this new lifestyle of mine!

The content is fantastic. My friend has a copy of this book so I got a sneak peek of it before I purchase. The copy I received might have been stored in a not ideal environment though as there is something on the bottom that looks like mold. I tried to wipe it away with paper towel but it didn't come off.

I did appreciate the information in the intro (especially as a type 1 diabetic who is glad that someone finally acknowledges the difference between 1 & 2 & gestational, etc).... but, that being said, I have tried several recipes and several just did not turn out as well as they should have.
* Cream cheese waffles (p 108) - not bad, very thin batter
* Chocolate crepes - photo attached (p 110) - horrible, did not cook properly at all despite following recipe perfectly - threw the batter away, which I never do :(
* Spaghetti bolognese (p 214) - WAY too salty, beef should have been drained after cooking but wasn't in the instructions to do so
* Butter pecan cookies (p 328) - not bad but not sturdy like real cookies
* No-bake brownie cheesecake bars (p 332) - way too coconutty, didn't really taste like brownies or cheesecake, but tasted ok

Great book. A lot of info about the Keto plan and sugars. I have made several recipes and all of them have turned out great. All the recipes have nutritional information. She also gives you recommendations for substitutes. I like this book because the amount of ingredients I would have to buy to make a recipe is not overwhelming. There are also minimal special keto ingredients, most of the stuff I already have in my pantry. Author also has a wonderful blog with a lot of recipes, that is how I found this book.

Love this book. I haven’t bought a cookbook in a Long time but this is worth it. If you are trying to eat healthy or lose weight this should be your holy grail. Ketogenic does work! I’ve lost 35 lbs and managed to keep it off. Don’t even miss the food I used to eat. (Except French fries?). No sub for that yet but everything else I still get to eat. Sandwiches, pizza, cookies, muffins, etc. it does take planning and that’s were a cookbook like this really helps! Craving chocolate cake? Carolyn has you covered! Follow her blog and buy the book!

Ive bought 4 Keto - Low carb cookbook and this is the best cookbook. The recipes are easy to read and cook. I have cook 5 dinners and everyone of them has been tastey and easy. Im going to dive into the sweets and making my own spices. I highly recommend this cookbook!!

Many pages are printed strangely, and some of the words are quite fuzzy. I will still look forward to making some of the recipes in it however!

This is a beautiful cookbook but way too many of the recipes use dairy with only occasional offerings of substitutions. Since I am sensitive to dairy I am unable to use many of the recipes so have returned the book. In addition, dairy is an inflammatory food and for anyone focusing on a health who uses dairy as a protein, especially as much as this author suggests, diminishes many of the other healthy aspects of a keto diet.

I received this cookbook as a gift and it is already my new favorite. I am an avid follower of Carolyn Ketchum's blog and had high hopes for her first cookbook. It did not disappoint. I have been eating keto for just over a year. I started in order to lose 15 pounds that had creeped up. I continue because I feel so much better eating low-carb, low-sugar, and gluten-free. The cookbook has wonderful sections on a ketogenic diet, ketogenic ingredients, and tips for successful ketogenic baking. Then it dives into some seriously delicious recipes. Don't be fooled by the simplicity. Every thing I've made so far has been easy and delicious. My family's favorites so far are Easy Taco Pie, Roasted Cabbage Wedges with Blue Cheese and Bacon, Spicy Shrimp and Cucumber Noodles, Cheesy Cauliflower Grits, and No-Bake Haystack Cookies. And there are many more recipes I can't wait to try. I have no hesitation recommending this cookbook whether you are new to the ketogenic way of eating or an old-hand at it. Carolyn Ketchum is a magician in the keto kitchen and even her most simple recipes result in a satisfying tasty meal that the whole family will enjoy - including those who don't adhere to a low-carb way of eating.

I am getting ready to start a keto diet in January, and this way of eating is totally new to me. So I decided to get this book to help me figure it out. I am so glad I did! I own too many cookbooks to count, but this is one of the best. I read it cover to cover, and was totally impressed with the quality of the editing (I didn't see one typo!); how great the recipes are (There is literally not one I don't think I'd like); and the quality and beauty of the book. Although it is a paperback (no I didn't get the Kindle edition that the review shows), it uses the highest quality paper (It actually weighs over 2.5 lbs!), and every recipe has a beautiful color photo. It is laid out for easy cooking (no recipes spanning to a different page -- I hate that). There is even an index section that has color photos of each item (I've never seen that before). I also appreciated the introductory part that explains differences in various products and recommends some brand named ones, and even what kitchen equipment would be helpful (but not necessary). I was a little apprehensive to start this way of living, but now I think it will be totally doable and tasty. It even lists various keto resources that will be helpful. I can't recommend this book highly enough! I was totally impressed!

WOW...where do I begin. I was looking for a diabetic cookbook or something that was semi sugar free and low carbs. I was disappointed in the Diabetic cookbook reviews whereas a lot of reviewers complained of high carbs and issues with the recipes. I would think if it was an excellent diabetic cookbook it would adhere closely to true recipes in controlling blood sugars but too many reviews didn't indicate that. Confused again!
In one review tho, Carolyn Ketchums name was mentioned and the review was intriguing. I found the cookbook on the store and was impressed by the 5 stars with 500+ reviews and thought it must be really good or Carolyn has a lot of friends. This is where the WOW comes in. I purchased it realizing it was Ketogenic which I had sort of tried before but finding good recipes and understanding actually how to go forward and not knowing what products should I buy turned me off. The information really wasn't there.
In comes Everyday Ketogenic Kitchen. Unbelievably informative. I have never, ever seen a cookbook that literally answers all your questions as you are reading the recipes. She tells you what brand you can buy, and where to buy it. Explains the difference in one oil or the other and why not to substitute Almond flour for Coconut flour. It is better to buy Cacao Butter chips and not a block. The information on sweeteners and which to choose from was a great help. There is so much good information that I have already cleaned out my pantry and have ordered new ingredients. I have never heard of a mozzarella crust for pizza or bread sticks. Recipes for crackers & chips that I will actually be able to make & eat without feeling guilty. The food recipes appear to be very easy to make and look delicious and definitely looking forward to trying them all. This seriously feels like a food bible to me. It has not gone unnoticed that an incredible amount of research and work went into putting this cookbook together. She obviously gave a considerable amount of time thinking what a newbie or seasoned reader would need to use the recipes in her book.
Thank you Carolyn for having the insight to put together a cookbook that is truly fantastic. I also found her blog and I am now a follower. The next best thing will be the Dessert Cookbook coming out in July which I will certainly pre-order! FIVE STARS all the way..
In one review tho, Carolyn Ketchums name was mentioned and the review was intriguing. I found the cookbook on the store and was impressed by the 5 stars with 500+ reviews and thought it must be really good or Carolyn has a lot of friends. This is where the WOW comes in. I purchased it realizing it was Ketogenic which I had sort of tried before but finding good recipes and understanding actually how to go forward and not knowing what products should I buy turned me off. The information really wasn't there.
In comes Everyday Ketogenic Kitchen. Unbelievably informative. I have never, ever seen a cookbook that literally answers all your questions as you are reading the recipes. She tells you what brand you can buy, and where to buy it. Explains the difference in one oil or the other and why not to substitute Almond flour for Coconut flour. It is better to buy Cacao Butter chips and not a block. The information on sweeteners and which to choose from was a great help. There is so much good information that I have already cleaned out my pantry and have ordered new ingredients. I have never heard of a mozzarella crust for pizza or bread sticks. Recipes for crackers & chips that I will actually be able to make & eat without feeling guilty. The food recipes appear to be very easy to make and look delicious and definitely looking forward to trying them all. This seriously feels like a food bible to me. It has not gone unnoticed that an incredible amount of research and work went into putting this cookbook together. She obviously gave a considerable amount of time thinking what a newbie or seasoned reader would need to use the recipes in her book.
Thank you Carolyn for having the insight to put together a cookbook that is truly fantastic. I also found her blog and I am now a follower. The next best thing will be the Dessert Cookbook coming out in July which I will certainly pre-order! FIVE STARS all the way..

I have been following Carolyn's blog, All Day I Dream about Food, for a few years now, so I'm no stranger to her delicious recipes and beautiful photography. Of course, I needed to check out her new cookbook.
When I received this cookbook, I was blown away by how thorough the cookbook is. Not only does it contain loads of recipes, but there is also a section discussing keto ingredients, one discussing equipment to make keto cooking easier, and even a seven day sample diet. If you're new to eating keto or low-carb, or can only buy one cookbook, this is the one for you!
The book contains loads of recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, beverages, and snacks. There is a large section with breads, muffins, and scones, which are foods that are frequently missed by those on a keto diet. Carolyn has us covered!
Carolyn has made her cookbook a work of art. She uses the same white on white style of photography that she uses in her blog. I enjoy paging through it just to look at the pictures.
In short, I love this book and highly recommend it to those eating low-carb or ketogenic diets.
