I was satisfied with this book and so was the person that we gave it to. It is good for suggestions to start off on a plan to loose weight but you must understand that you have to be willing to change your life style if your want to be successful in any weight loss program. There is no quick fix that will magically do it for you.

The recipes are very confusing and some have the wrong nutrition facts. (Which, btw, are arranged in the worst possible manner)
ie. A veggie omelet claims to have 2 ounces of meat. I'm no expert but I thought veggie meant only vegetables.
I wasted my hard-earned money on a tool that won't help me at all. Beware.

I love this cook book, it's given me the basis for changing my cooking and eating habits. I do not go strictly by the recipes...I've swapped some things I hate (like kale for collard greens) and have still lost 25 lbs in 6 months. I eat the DASH way 3 or 4 days a week....the book has been a good beginning to my healthier relationship with food. And my blood pressure has been normal for the past 3 months. Also, the recipes are easy to follow and I especially like the soups.

I think there are better recipes out there, but if you do not fully grasp the concepts in cooking the "Dash"" way, this is good basic "how to" cookbook. It will help you learn the basics of healthy cooking with tasty food that excludes. Ingredients not conducive to your well-being.

I found some do-able recipes that are tasty and have been added to my cooking repertoire. But, much of the time I just wing it on my own when it comes to healthy low cholesterol cooking. It is common sense when you know the right ingredients to use. Now, if I can just stop eating these sour jelly beans...

The recipes are really great, and there are plenty of them. Unfortunately, some of the foods are incredibly high in sodium, and I'm on a very limited sodium diet. On the other hand, the foods I can eat are delicious.

I look forward to doing many of the recipes, but at 6'2" and not really that overweight, it will take a tremendous amount of discipline (which I need to have!) to eat 3 oz portions of main courses. I may cheat at the beginning, but eventually will behave!

Just 2 weeks after modifyling our diet to include recipies from this book, my blood pressure went from 152/100 to 122/70 and I've lost 12 pounds. A lot of these recipes are so good that you don't miss the carbs. I am a carb junkie, so that says a lot. We've found quite a few new staples.

Just a few recipes for common folks (aka ....southern folks). Too many recipes that are not something a working woman has time to fix after work. There were about 3 recipes in here that I could actually use.

The recipes use more sodium and cholesterol than I did before I bought the book......just use mostly fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables beans legumes grains and use meat as a side dish.....oh herbs and lemon or lime juice. ...this book was the biggest waste of money I have ever made!

a lot of the resapies are to complicated for me to many ingredients that are not all that easy to find . or just to expensive stuff like fake egg substastue is a none starter with me . did not see a single breakfast that I would want and nothing using real eggs . just not all that inpresed with it .

This book was a waste of money for me. I was looking for an everyday cookbook. These recipes may be great, but some seem to have plenty of sodium in them and would take a look no time to find the ingredients, prep and cook. Maybe a different title would have made sense. A few ingredients which are easy to find and less than 20 minutes prep time was more the type of book I was expecting. Sorry. I wanted to love this.

what a waste of money!! This is just a book of recipes that most of us use as basics, & have additional items added to them. Most recipes have 10-14 ingredients. If we start with quality fresh food why on earth would we want to doctor it up to be unrecognizable?? Nothing new in this book. Just something to get our money & I was taken hook line & worthless book.

I received my book a few days ago. I have the DASH DIET Weight Loss Solution book, which has some really great and easy recipes.
I've been doing DASH since March - I love this diet because it's easy so when I ordered the Cookbook, I was anxious for some "new recipes". I already tried a few and they are really easy to make. This is a nice companion to the Weight loss solution book.
I can't wait to try more recipes and continue my journey on my weight loss. I think you will love this cookbook!!! You won't be sorry

These are probably good dishes, but I won't be making any of them. Too many ingredients, too many steps to make a dish/meal not my style. I'm just cooking for me and like to keep things as simple as possible; bake a piece of chicken, steam or saute a veg and I'm good. Thankfully I borrowed from the library so not out the money for a book I'll never cook from.

I did not try this diet to lose weight, but to lower blood pressure. It accomplished neither very well. The book is well written and presented, but I'm a results oriented person and this diet was easily beat out by plant based diets. The science behind this diet still promotes hypertension being that it includes meat and dairy. Once you eliminate those, the blood pressure plummets.

What a beautifully written cookbook-I really like the variety of recipes that are offered. I find myself often getting stuck in a rut eating the same things over and over again and that is when I tend to fall off plan. There are so many wonderful options offered here that I am sure I will be able to find great a great recipe that will allow me to be satisfied and remain on this wonderful plan. Place your order you will not be disappointed!!

I received my copy of this book after preordering. After it arrived,, I anxiously opened the book and looked through it. It was worth the wait! I have since tried several of the recipes and they were easy, quick, filling and most important, they were very tasty. I would recommend this cookbook to any one who wants healthy and flavorful meals.

I've been using the DASH diet based on a recommendation by my doctor to reduce my blood pressure, after a month not only has my blood pressure dropped OVER 30 points I've lost 15 pounds!! I love the recipes in the book, I wish there were more pictures included in the book but I guess that would make less room for yummy recipes. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!

There are some great recipes in this book. I both this along with the Dash Diet Solution book. I lost 10 lbs in 4 weeks. It was amazing. However, if you follow the Dash Diet Solution meal plan it is not easy. The meal plan was similar to other diets that cut out fruit, sugar, bread for the first 2 weeks.
I would recommend this cookbook for those looking for healthy recipes
