This was a good read but in my opinion there was too much sadness and it lasted far too long. Good ending but a bit more joy in the times Dani spent with Steve would have given this five stars. When I complete a book I want to remember it fondly and think on the good times with the one you love. Upon finishing the book, looking back all I remember was sadness. All the time in prayer and others praying for Dani, she kept grinding on the same negative issues over and over. She was too smart to do that. It lessened her character.

An outstanding well written Christian love story that brings out many problems we all faced. I especially liked the addition of the scriptures that were the answer to all problems in life if we only will use them and listen!

Very sweet story. Very well written. If you are looking for a light read and a feel good book, this would be a good choice. A story of finding Gods love, forgiveness and redemption. It was a bit slow moving and predictable at times but all in all I enjoyed the read.

This is a wonderful story about second chances. The author did a wonderful job keeping me on my toes. Every time I thought I knew where the plot was headed, something unexpected would happen and carry the story in a different direction. I certainly recommend this story. Can't wait to read the next in the series.

Very good book! I would recommend Cathy Bryant's books to everyone. I am not a big reader, but I could not put the book down! I have already read the second book "A Path Less Traveled" and getting ready to start Cathy Bryant's third book!

Well written conversations, but totally predictable story--not even another realistic romantic interest to make one wonder. Christian viewpoint with no sex or swearing, which was nice. However, references to God (except by Mama Beth) and seemed very much "forced" into the storyline. Plus (carefully avoiding writing any spoiler) Cecille at the end also seemed 'forced'.

This could have been a better book with a lot less inspirational/religious intervention. The writing is good and the characters are written well. The general genre is inspirational with romance and mystery. However, the inspirational passes/preaching was a bit too much and stopped the flow of the story. Will Dani eventually find a home and love in Miller's Creek?

I like books about self-discovery, where the hero(ine) has to learn to accept who they are before they can find love. A lot of frustration ensues as secrets are kept (for unclear reasons), barriers are made and tossed away, but overall enjoyable.

Dani Davis loves being a first grade teacher in Dallas but the rest of her life has not been so well. Losing her father, her husband and a fight with her mother puts her on the road to Miller Creek to visit her Aunt Beth and maybe find a place she can call home. She did not know that Aunt Beth knew a secret that Dani finally finds out.

As she was on the back roads to Miller Creek she ran out of gas, locked her keys in her car and had on high heeled shoes, also dressed in a designer suit, but as she started walking the rain started. Finally an old beat up truck came alone and she didn't know is she should get in with a stranger or not, but she did go with him and he was dirty. He dropped her off at a general store where the old men contragrated and they were willing to help her.

Steve and Dani immediately get off on the wrong foot as they both lived in Miller Creek. Miller Creek is a small, down-home town in Texas that immediately makes you feel like you are right at home. She had not seen her aunt since she was really small but fell in love with her right from the start.

The town was falling apart and no one had to money to do repairs, Steve was the mayor as well as worked on the ranch with his father. He had always been at home at Mama Beth as every one in the town called Dani's aunt.

Dani just needed to get away from Dallas for a short time as her mother was very controlling. But she fell in love with Miller Creek and decided to move there.

The town was trying to get some supporters to help finance of the upgrade of the town so that they could get some tourist. Someone finally helped up would not let anyone know who it was, they went through a lawyer.
As the town worked to upgrade the town someone started to break out the windows and such.

As the story comes to an end the secret comes out and sends Dani into a tailspin. Finally Dani realizes that her home is with God. Then in the romance department, true love does finally conquer all.

Cathy Bryant has crafted this novel so skillfully with twists and turns upon twists and turns, much like an old Texas road. Cathy always writes the best books, her next book in this series will be coming soon, be sure to look out for it.

This book was sent to me by the author in order for me to review in my own words.

This debut novel shows just how much talent Cathy Bryant has. She wrote this novel with the skill of a veteran, best-selling author. Had I not known that this was her debut novel, I would have earnestly been looking for other books by this sweet & amazingly talented lady!

This review is a little bit different. I had the pleasure of reading the first five chapters of this charming story as an influencer before it was published and released to the public, to which I endorsed it. I had an enormous amount of fun spreading the word about this book and then to see my endorsement on the Texas Roads website was a blessing to me! After recieving the finished product and reviewing the rest of the chapters, I 100%, whole-heartedly stand by my endorsement for this sweet lady's wonderful book!

This story is set in Miller's Creek, a small, down-home town in Texas that immediately makes you feel like you are right at home. Dani and Steve become family and you can just feel Mama Beth's sweet charm envelope you and draw you in even more. I stand by what I said in my original thoughts of the first five chapters, when I say that Miller's Creek is a sweet Mayberry-like town...Mama Beth is Aunt Bea and Steve is Sheriff Andy Taylor.....not to mention Dani is Helen Crump!

Cathy's Texas Roads is filled with heartache, family, friends and God. Not to mention just enough mystery and humor, giving this heart-felt story a book that has something for EVERYONE. A lesson in finding ones self, coming home, and forgiveness all in one AMAZING book!

So, my review is coming to an end because I could go on and on but then I would end up giving away spoilers and I do NOT want that! All I can say is that I want you to take this as a heart-felt meaning: READ TEXAS ROADS! I LOVED IT AND YOU WILL TOO! It is an amazing, sweet book worthy of more than five stars and 2 thumbs up. It deserves to be on every book shelf in America, not just Christian fiction lovers! It's just that great! And to close out this review, I'll make one final statement: I CAN'T WAIT TO FOLLOW THE TEXAS ROADS BACK TO MILLER CREEK WITH CATHY'S SECOND BOOK, A PATH TOO NARROW (tentatively titled!)!!

I was lucky enough to be allowed to review this book before it came out. I am not one who likes mushy romance. Therefore this book was one I really enjoyed. Dani came from a privileged life yet here she was running to some hick town to visit an aunt she didn't even know. Running out of gas she is lucky enough to get picked up by Steve, a very handsome man who is also the mayor of Miller's Creek. Steve and Dani immediately get off on the wrong foot. They prejudge each other. This is made worse by the fact that the one person they have in common is Mama Beth. Dani has been looking for a place to call home for a long time. She thinks she finds it in the dying town of Millers Creek and sets about helping revive the town. Dani's secrets along with her mother's feelings of betrayal come to a head one night when Danie learns the biggest secret of all. The only thing she can do is run until she realizes the only way she will find her way home is through God.

This was a well written book. The old saying of "show don't tell" is exactly what Cathy Bryant has done. I grew up in the country and could feel the breeze blowing through my hair, and smell the country smells. It took me down memory lane. I laughed and cried and worried throughout the book. I read it through in one sitting. This is definitely a book I will recommend to all of my friends. This is the type of book I would re-read again and again. I was pleasantly surprised to get a glimpse into the second book in this series and I look forward to reading it when it comes out. Cathy Bryant is a talented writer and one we need to keep our eye on.

An avowed mystery lover, this intriguing debut novel's many secrets kept me turning pages.

Dani Davis has lost her father and the husband she's just discovered was cheating on her. She never really fit into her wealthy family's glitzy lifestyle and she doesn't get along with her socialite mother. So, she leaves Dallas and sets off to meet Mama Beth, her mother's small town sister.

On the approach to Miller's Creek, her car runs out of gas and she's picked up by Steve Miller, a dusty, unshaven cowboy who turns out to be the town's mayor. Well, there may be an attraction, but they've also taken an immediate dislike to each other.

The towns people seem to accept her, especially a group of old gents she calls the old geezers. Dani begins to feel she might have finally found a home. Being a truly wise woman, Moma Beth tells Dani that her true home is with the Lord.

Cathy Bryant has crafted this novel so skillfully with twists and turns upon twists and turns, much like an old Texas road. Steve, as mayor is trying to revitalize the town. Dani gets an idea to use her inheritance to start renovation projects and enlists the aid of a Dallas attorney she knows, but she wants her role in this venture kept secret. Nobody can know it's her money behind the restoration. Naturally when it becomes necessary for her to meet with this attorney at odd hours, Steve thinks she's involved with the man. Then the small town gossip mill begins. To top that off, someone is setting fire to building that were just renovated. The gossip mill says Dani and her attorney friend are the arsonists.

However, there is yet one secret to be revealed, and it's a heart wrencher. When the secret comes out it sends Dani into a tailspin. Finally Dani realizes that her home is with God. Then in the romance department, true love does finally conquer all.

I gave this book 5 stars because it was well written, the characters well developed. As with many books, you want to dig deeper into the characters. The story has just enough romance without being sappy. The author has integrated a spiritual lesson that is applicable for all who are seeking a place to call home. The spiritual lesson was well woven into the story. Mamma Beth, aunt to the main character, Dani, was depicted as much older than the 50 something she was, in my opinion. She seemed much older in her appearance and actions. Made me wonder how old the author was. Book was enjoyable from beginning to end. A good read. I look forward to this author's other books in The Miller Creek Series and how she continues to develop her style. I appreciated her getting to the point and not using a lot of filler descriptions in her story telling. Cathy Bryant is a great story teller. I am currently reading her second book in the series. Oh, and you will find a bit of unexpected expense.

I would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank you" to Cathy Bryant and her publisher for sending me a copy of "Texas Roads" to review for them. I have always been grateful for this generosity, and I am trying to improve at being consistent in taking the time to thank these wonderfully giving individuals in a public forum. I really appreciate your time, effort and expense in making a reviewer copy available to me.

I have been enchanted by Cathy Bryant's "Texas Roads". From the first few pages, the reader is introduced to a lovely little town and a way of life that seems completely lost in our fast food, instant gratification world that caters to the selfish needs of the individual. Instead, in Miller's Creek, people care about each other and make sacrifices. If you're the friend of a friend, you're a friend. I want to live there!

Dani ventures to Miller's Creek to meet an aunt she doesn't remember who has a secret that Dani doesn't know. When she arrives in town completely drenched to the bone, she begins to encounter the peaceful and sweet way of life in this tiny Texas town. Sadly, she may have already blown it with the nice cowboy that gave her a ride. This is a wonderful romantic tale with plenty of twists, although some are quite predictable. Still, Bryant's ability to tell a story makes this a beautiful way to spend a few hours with some characters that you'll look forward to calling "friends".

I am thrilled that the cover of this book bears the words: "a Miller's Creek novel" because that tells me that there will be more books like this. And the world needs more books like this.

For a debut novel Texas Roads is an absolute gem! I really loved every bit of it from the crazy hairdresser to the hunky rancher, and even the "old geezers." Cathy Bryant sure knows Texas and small town life. I myself am a small town girl so I know what small town livin' is and I KNOW that there are no secrets to be kept when everybody knows everybody! I certainly know about grumpy ol' curmudgeons too...but don't ask, LOL read the story and you will see what I'm talking about!

As for the romance of the story...I really enjoyed it too. I was a liiiiiittle frustrated with Steve and Dani and was shouting, "Come on people. You like each other. Admit it already!!!!" but that just makes it all the more sweeter when they do finally see the light, right? The only tiny issue that I had was that some of the chapters didn't seem to flow together as well as I would have liked but that's just about the only thing. I'm just nitpicking I guess! It's terrific otherwise and I CANNOT wait for the next book tentatively titled, A Path Too Narrow, although from the teaser at the back of the book I can already tell it's going to be a tearjerker!

I received my free review copy from the author.

Quick good read. Interesting story. Although love stories are not my favorite, this story was also about relationships and hardships that real people encounter so it made this series enjoyable reads. It also shows that Christians also deal with traumatic events and sin in their lives.

I really enjoyed this book. Steve really wants to dislike Dani as she a city girl who doesn't belong in Miller's Creek. Dani has come to see her aunt Beth as she longing to find her home. Her & Steve clash about everything but they both agree that Mama Beth needs them both. Can they work together to help the town. Can Dani believe in God again or has he forgotten about her. She learns some secrets that can destroy her and what she knows about herself. A really great feel good story that leaves you feeling good. I am glad to read a book with good values.

It's summer time, and what better way to kill a few hours then dipping your toes in the pool with a good book in hand and I just read a really good book that would go great alongside anyone's pool.

I've said in the past that I'm not a BIG fan of romance novels. Christian or not I still feel they make life seem to perfect and the men so not real life. But every once in awhile I come across a good book that doesn't dwell into the whole ROMANCE of it all and is just a good story.

Texas Roads is one of those books. It does encompass a guy and girl finding each other, but the story that brings them together is really well written. Cathy Bryant does an excellent job bringing you into the lives of Dani and Steve beyond the romance of it all.

Add this one to your summer reads!!

Here's the blurb from the back cover:

'Dani Davis wants a place to call home. With quaint country charm, quirky residents, and business potential, Miller's Creek seems like the perfect place to start over....except for the cowboy who gives her a ride into town. Then malicious rumors and a devastating secret propel her down a road she never expected to travel.'

This is Cathy Bryant's debut novel and it is awesome! I can't wait for the next in the Miller's Creek series. My favorite kind of novel is one you can get lost in...become the characters...become a part of the town. Texas Roads is that kind of novel.

Back home Dani `s daddy and her husband have both died. She is fighting with her mother. It's time to get away. She decides to visit her aunt in Miller's Creek whom she has never met, only talked to in an occasional letter. As she gets closer to her destination the unthinkable happens...she runs out of gas.
Steve is on his way home from work when he happens on Dani walking towards town. He offers her a ride and she decides to take him up on his offer. After all, it's pouring down rain and her keys are locked in the car.

Steve takes Dani into town and she calls her aunt. Turns out everyone knows everyone else in Miller's Creek. It's one of those small, Texas towns that are very close knit. She begins to wonder if she will fit in here since she is a stranger. But after meeting her Aunt Beth, all fears are put to rest! Aunt Beth is the type of lady that everyone wishes they knew! Dani falls in love with Miller's Creek and wants to stay. She decides to do everything she can to help the city bounce back from the financial problems it has experienced. But when bad things start happening around town, Dani is the one they suspect...after all, she is the only "stranger" in town. How can she overcome the suspicions and become a part of the town she loves and feels so at home in?

We can all identify with wanting a place to call home, can't we?
Cathy does a wonderful job of showing God's love through the characters, especially Aunt Beth. Aunt Beth reminded me of my mamaw so much! Full of Godly wisdom and love!

Attention Ladies! Not many fiction books around here get awarded with 5 Stars. However, this is one that did and now I want to tell you all about it!

When Cathy Bryant asked if I would consider reading and reviewing her book, Texas Roads, I was not quick to take the offer. I have quite a stack to get through and wasn't sure if I should take the time to add a fiction title to my pile or not. But something in what Cathy wrote to me grabbed my attention and made me say "yes" and now, well, I'm so glad I did!

Texas Roads is a novel set in the good old state of Texas. When the main characters, Steve and Dani, meet in the first few pages it is hard to imagine what might happen in the next 284 pages. But this book, while somewhat predictable, takes unexpected and unpredictable twists and turns until you close the book with happy tears on your cheeks. The plot is simple yet complicated. It has a sweet storyline tinged with a hint of heartbreak and characters that are real: like-able one minute, and frustrating the next!

I greatly appreciated how Cathy penned a story that was honest, fresh, realistic, and romantic - to name a few! - without compromising the quality with sensual or unnecessary details. This book, while geared for an adult audience, could be read by a 15-year-old without concern.

This was an enjoyable read with a message of faith, hope, and forgiveness. The only thing I didn't like about the book was the tight binding that made it harder to read while laying down! Texas Roads is the perfect book for a relaxing read on a rainy day or for taking to the beach with you on your next vacation.

I had to beg my library purchase it because it sounded so good, however, I'm somewhat ashamed to admit that I did put it down a couple times and read something else so it didn't completely grab me.

I would have liked more background/details on certain things like why Dani's mom was so harsh and how Dani and Mama Beth got to be best buds so quickly or WHY Dani decided on visiting Miller Creek. There were lots of loose ends at the end but I'm sure (I hope!) they will be addressed in sequels.

Maybe it's because I'm not from a small town but I didn't understand the fickleness of the townspeople - sometimes they were warm and loving and other times they were downright shallow. That made me angry! Even Mama Beth (who you can't help but like) acted like that.

Overall, a quick, light read with a few twists and turns to make it different from your everyday romance.

TEXAS ROADS takes you on Dani Davis' journey to find her place in the world. Leaving the big-city life of Dallas behind, for the small town of Miller's Creek, Dani is in search of finding a place where she belongs, where she feels accepted, a place she can call home. What she encounters is an emotional roller-coaster of feelings, fears, and insecurities. Carving out a relationship with her Aunt Beth proves to be difficult with guard dog Steve Miller around. The town Mayor, though good-looking, eyes Dani with distrust and lets her know by his actions that he questions why it is she has suddenly popped up in Miller's Creek. Dani, afraid to expose herself to rejection, gives off a stand-offish air fueling Steve's uneasiness. When an unexpected donor sets up a foundation to fund the rebuilding efforts of Miller's Creek, and a Dallas lawyer shows up on the scene with eyes for Dani, more suspicions ensue. Dani's might be keeping a secret from the town folk to protect herself, but soon finds out she is not the only one keeping secrets.

I enjoyed TEXAS ROADS. Though its slow start gave me reason to put it aside from time to time, its momentum finely built in the last third of the book, preventing me from putting it down at all. Now that I feel a vested interest in the people of Miller's Creek, I will be keeping my eyes peeled for the sequel.

Debut author Cathy Bryant has made a successful entry into the Christian publishing world. After following Cathy on her website Word Vessel, I knew her book would be a delight.

We meet Dani right as she's unleash herself from the pain of her life. Heading to meet her aunt, she hopes that this will be the balm she needs in her life. Too bad a car that's run out of gas and an annoying rancher is how this starts out for Dani.

She gets to know Mama Beth, her aunt, in such a sweet way. Not at all like the relationship she has with her Mother. The towns people accept her as though she'd always been a part of them, but the rancher, Steve wants to know what she's up to and it can't be any good. This seems to be where Dani has always belonged, but will she be able to stay?

I love when characters can go back to their roots and start over. It's a story that gives hope! There were characters involved in the story that added fun and dimension to the story. Characters we would love like Mama Beth, and those we found easy to dislike such as Dani's mom.

Dani's battle to figure out her life, find her way in the Lord, and open herself up to others takes us from Dallas to Miller's Creek, where she learns more about herself than she ever dreamed. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all go "home" on a road such as that?

The author is new to me as this id the first book by Cathy Bryant 've read and I really liked the book. It keep me hooked with the storyline and I don't know what gave it away, the real relationship between Mama Beth and Dani but I just guessed it. I loved Dani found her home in the end and the whole plot line. I just didn't connected with the chemistry between Steve and Dani but I don't mind, I liked the story and how they grew to like each other.

Texas Roads is a wonderful debut novel by Cathy Bryant. Dani, a young widow is trying to find her place in this world. She feels restless and like she just doesn't belong. It's been a rough year for Dani since she lost both her father and husband. Needing a break she takes off to visit a favorite aunt, Aunt Beth, better known as Mama Beth, who is a tower of strength in Dani's life. There are roads in our lives can lead us in several directions but, as we read in Texas Roads, God has a special road for all of us if we just follow Him. Living in a small Texas town I can relate to the nosy neighbors, a place where everybody knows your business, hairdressers who talk nonstop and, of course, the country roads. The long road into Dallas and eating out at the West End, even visiting sick loved ones at Baylor hospital all seemed so real to me. But you don't have to be from Texas or even from a small town to enjoy this wonderful story. You'll enjoy the well rounded characters, a Godly message and some good, clean romance when reading this book! This is a definite 5 star read AND I am anxiously awaiting her next novel A Path Too Narrow.

When I was given the chance to read the debut novel, TEXAS ROADS, I was very excited and not disappointed in the least at the quality of the story.
The story is a sweet romance, a searching heart and a moving story of God's love all rolled up into one.
The story grows and develops throughout the story, bringing the reader in. It is a simple story about finding home. There were moments of faith messages, but it didn't feel preachy and flowed naturally with the story.
I thought the characters were well portrayed and showed a great deal of heart. By far my favorite character was Mama Beth, but the growing that Dani (the heroine) and Steve (the hero) did were gradual, but felt real. I wasn't rushed in understanding their motivations and growth.
There was depth to the book with different angles that enhanced the main plot. The setting became like a second character, but it wasn't without its quirks.
This is an excellent debut novel and after the sneak peek in the back of this book, I am looking forward to reading the second book.
All in all I really enjoyed this book, it has a homey feel to it, the kind of book to snuggle up with and get lost within its pages.

Texas Roads is a heart-warming read that kept me wondering what would happen next. I enjoyed the friendly small town feel of the book and the suspense factor kept me interested, but the elements of faith weaved in are what made this book a five star read for me. Mama Beth was my favorite character because of her unshakable faith throughout the story, even in the face of adversity. I’m looking forward to reading more books in the Miller’s Creek series!

I was given a copy of "Texas Roads" in exchange for an honest review. This book was a fun, contemporary romance. The main character is looking for "home" and finds it in Miller's Creek, Texas, along with a handsome cowboy. I give it four stars. "I liked it." No swearing or sexual content, Christian viewpoint, I can recommend for teens and up. Will be reading more from this author.

Texas Roads is a wonderful book that is like a comfy pair of pj's. I fell in love with the characters and town and wish I lived in a town like Millers Creek. My favorite character was Mama Beth. I loved everything about her, especially how she put God in and before everything. There was laughter, sadness, love, loss, fear and betrayal. And a secret. A BIG secret that rocked their lives and had Dani running from everyone and everything. What she found though was the best love of all. The love of God.

Texas Roads is deep with feeling, the images are vivid and the story is so good that it's like you are standing there with the characters, hearing their voices. I actually have a mental picture of what everyone looks like, and what the town looks like. The book will make you laugh, shed a few tears and hug those you love a little tighter. I can't wait to read Cathy's next book "A Path Too Narrow".

I can not express in words how much I enjoyed reading this book! Cathy's description of Miller's Creek makes ME want to live there! Her vibrant words and likeable characters really make this story come alive. I could barely put the book down as each page held more and more anticipation.

This was an enjoyable story with a message of faith, forgiveness and trust in our Lord. I greatly appreciate the fact that this was a clean romance without the trash talk and unnecessary details of a love story. Cathy's description of this small town is so good, you can almost hear the water flowing in the creek! There is such a wide range of characters, from the hero, Steve to Mama Beth to the old men in town that know everyone's business! These characters are so likeable and real that you almost forget that you're reading fiction. I think this would be a good book for a teenage girl. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and think that Cathy's debut novel is a smash hit!

I'm so thankful for the review copy of Cathy Bryant's heart warming, debut novel. I've never been to Texas but I'd love to go to Miller's Creek, a quaint little town, with its friendly neighbors, beauty, innocence and fun. It reminded me of the town of Mayberry in the Andy Griffith T.V. shows. It was a quieter, simpler life back then. The main character is Dani, raised in the city, visits her Mama Beth, who reminded me of Aunt May, on the Andy Griffith show. Everyone in this little town loved her and called her Mama Beth. Dani felt drawn to this town and for a place she could call home.

She didn't expect to run out of gas upon entering this town. A man offers her a ride. City girls just don't get into a car with a stranger. Steve tries to assure Dani he is just interested in helping her get to where she is going...nothing more. He's already sized Dani up to be a spoiled brat who's over-dressed and he's unimpressed. He can't wait to deliver her to her destination.

The next day she wakes up in her Aunt Beth's house to find Steve there, the man who gave her a ride. Was this man following her? Dani's aunt informs her he is the Mayor. Great she's off to a swell start in this small town.

Dani has an ache in her heart to find a place called home. In that search, she realizes she has a hole in her heart and a need to fill this emptiness inside. She discovers this hole can't be filled with a place, but instead it can be filled with a person not of this world. Her Aunt Beth's been praying for her and she agrees to go to church. It's the least she could do for her Aunt. Church isn't what she thought it would be like. That's when the fun begins.

Cathy Bryant pens a fun, cozy, spirited romance story, which I enjoyed. I loved her characters, the town and it's people. I found myself wanting to spend time in this cozy little town and I'd especially want to hang out with Mama Beth. She was a hoot! I enjoyed everyone minute of this delightful story. I can't want to see what Cathy writes next.

I like a Christian romance that keeps a good line on the story and the Christian aspect. This book keeps its faith in mind while keeping the book interesting. Since I don't know anyone who goes around spouting Jesus's name at every turn, I like a book that shows that Christians are just ordinary people who happen to believe in God.

I loved the book, couldn't put it down. I went through a complete range of emotions while reading. Cathy's writing is also very descriptive. I belly laughed at the "pig in a tutu" remark. The faith of her characters is quite evident, and the romance aspects of the story are clean and uplifting. We need more of these kinds of stories in which we see God's design for relationships.

Dani is coping with loss and grief and looking for a place to call home, not just a place to live, but a home for the heart and soul. The story is about her journey to finding it in a small Texas town, full of the kind of characters you do find in a small Texas town. Dani finds love along the way, of course. It is a sweet story. An easy read. I enjoyed it.

Texas Roads is such a sweet story! I really loved reading this book. It is a great commentary on trust and letting God take care of your hurts and heal you. Being upfront with people is another theme that really stuck out to me. It even shows how lying or even keeping a secret can cause huge problems, even if you are hiding something for a good reason. Dani and especially Steve are great characters! I really love Steve. He is protective, gentle, and a man of integrity. Loved it all!

Cathy Bryant is one of the best story-tellers that I have come across. I am so absorbed in the characters and their feelings. Jumping right into the next Miller's Creek Novel Book 2!

Texas Roads is one of those books that you love to curl up in your favorite place and read from cover to cover. From the first page, I was caught up in the story. I found myself immediately drawn to Miller's Creek, taking in the scenery that Cathy Bryant so eloquently painted. I felt Dani's pain as she struggled to find her place in the town and quietly give of herself - only to be misunderstood and rejected by those she cared the most about. Sitting on Mama Beth's porch, I absorbed the love that flowed from that beautiful lady despite the deep secret hidden within her heart. Steve's love for his town and his concern for Dani captured my heart. His precious parents struck home with me. Through it all, the love and grace of our Lord radiated and reminded me that He cares about our deepest needs. I can hardly wait for Cathy's next book!.

While the story line was good and the characters well-developed, I couldn't finish this book. The religion was just too heavy handed. I wish the blurb had more clearly labeled this book as Christian Fiction. I wasted my Kindle Lending free book of the month.

I liked this story. It had a great story Dani is a school teacher from Dallas who moves to a small town. The small town in the story is like many small towns. The are suspicious of outsiders, and they rarely accept them. However, Dani is finally accepted.

I absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it. It was hard to put the book down and I just wanted to sit for hours reading. So much love, hard work, friendships, sadness were all part of the story. Miller's Creek sounds like a great small town to live in. Dani was such a great character as well as Mama Beth. I can't wait to read more of Cathy Bryant's books.

The story starts with a women named Danielle (Dani for short.) She has never really fit into her life in Dallas with her parents.

In the last years time, she had quite a few emotional tolls that made her decide to start fresh.

She goes to visit her Mother's Sister who she has never met in a small town called Millers Creek.

Now for anyone who lives in a small town, you know how everyone knows everything about everyone else!!! Dani wasn't used to that. She really has to adjust.

Steve Miller is the mayor of the town and one of Dani's Aunts (Mama Beth) friends.

He is a 38 year old single man with a long family tie to the town. He is trying really hard to fix the town up to its original glory.

Steve is also dealing with alot of emotional issues in his life.

Dani and Steve's paths cross and they become friends. Dani tries to help Steve and the town repair and grow.

There are alot of struggles for both of them through out the book, including a death, major surgery and a couple very large surprises.

I don't want to give too much away. All I can say is that I absolutely loved this book.

Cathy keeps the reader at the edge of their seat at all times waiting to see what happens next.

I was sooo pulled to these characters that I felt like I was there dealing with their pain and troubles.

I cried at least half a dozen times!!

This is a true family story with alot of heart.

Such a good book. I sincerely hate having to write 20 words about a book though. It is either good or not good (in my opinion) and as far as books being reviewed, well you can't really trust the reviewer unless you know them personally, can you? You may think a book is awful and I may think it is wonderful. It all depends.

Romance novels are not my fave genre. (I like scary mysteries/thrillers.) Okay, that being said, this was a sweet, wholesome love story. Dani and Steve are both gun~shy or love~shy so they fight the attraction and do that "no, I'm not falling in love dance." I liked the small~town characters .
