This is the last entry in the Master's and Mercenaries series, and I'm going to miss them. Oh, there are going to be spin-offs and a look at the characters down the line, but not having Big Tag to make me laugh out loud every few months is going to be hard.

This is a highly emotional book with lovable characters, a convoluted plot, and some steamy sex. We get a visit by Ian, who wants more punches for Tennessee Smith-and we find more about John Bishop, now Henry Flanders from the author's Bliss, Colorado, series.

The heroine is Kayla Summers, former double agent for the CIA, now just an agent, but also on the payroll for McKay-Taggart Security. Her current assignment is to be a bodyguard-and submissive- for Joshua Hunt, movie star extraordinaire. Her undercover assignment is to find out all she can about Hunt's ties to a Mexican drug cartel honcho, who hides behind a generous businessman persona, but in reality is involved in the white slave trade in addition to drugs.

Joshua may be larger than life on screen, but inside, a scared little boy keeps him from forming attachments, and his horrendous secret makes him vulnerable on several layers. But Kayla's sunny personality, and entertaining anecdotes about her days as an undercover CIA assassin keep him entertained and the two begin developing an actual Dominant/submissive relationship. But Kayla knows she's skating on the edge of disaster if Joshua finds out about her CIA connection.

There are so many characters in this book it almost requires a road map to keep them straight, not the least of who are Kayla's adoptive fathers, who are not only a gay couple but also black and white. They are protective of their daughter, and have serious doubts about her relationship with Hunt. They aren't the only ones-all of Kayla's coworkers near and far are worried about the couple's status-and the op.

What Kayla doesn't know is that she has been set up by the CIA in a way she can't anticipate-and when the operation goes sideways, both she and Joshua are thrown for a loop. Can the two of them overcome the betrayal to find a way back to each other? My only complaint about the book is the same one Joshua has about the operations : “It's a bad script because the bad guy gets away.” Only one , but we are set up for a scenario headed to Bliss. I can't wait!

4.25-4.5 stars. I loved this book! I think this is my favorite Masters and Mercenaries book so far! This is Kayla and Joshua's story. Joshua is a famous movie actor in Hollywood. The CIA thinks that he may have ties to a cartel drug lord, where another agent who was undercover has gone missing, so they contract Kayla to go undercover in Josh's household. Josh is looking for a submissive who can double as a bodyguard and be part of his security team. Kayla is the perfect fit for him. At first, Josh wants a very structured, formal, contracted D/s relationship with Kayla, but her funny, sweet quirkiness has him falling for her (and she for him). But problems from Josh's childhood pop back up to threaten his present and his happiness. And when Kayla's cover is blown and Josh finds out he has been lied to, will Josh push Kayla away for good or can he forgive her so they can have a happy future together?

I already loved Kayla from her part in previous books in this series and I was not at all disappointed. I adored Kayla in this book. She was smart and funny, sweet and so sunshiningly happy, but still a dangerous badass when she needed to be. I have a major girl crush on her. She is the best heroine that I have read in a long while. I also loved that she is an avid reader who writes letters to her favorite authors. She wrote authors like Rebecca Zanetti and mentioned that Kristen Ashley has a restraining order on her. It was hilarious! I liked Josh too. He had been through so much in his life and really deserved the happiness he found with Kay. I definitely felt the love and connection between them. They were awesome together- sexy and sweet. I wanted a bit more resolution at the end of the book. The epilogue is only 12 hours into the future. I wanted a further jump ahead epilogue and a bit more happy times between the couple after the final conflict. Still, this was a really good book, full of Lexi Blake's trademark romantic suspense, action, adventure, love and friendship.

Overall, I loved this book and thought it was a great addition to this series! Nobody Does It Better is a nuanced, detailed romantic suspense full of sexy, funny and emotional awesomeness. I look forward to more from the Masters and Mercenaries and Lexi Blake in the future!

As a huge fan of the Masters and Mercenaries Series, Lexi Blake continues to entice and enthrall readers with her sexy alpha men and feisty heroines. Truly, nobody does it better than Lexi Blake and hence why the title Nobody Does It Better fits the bill for this 15th installment.

"As though declaring her game. She would feint and hide. He would pursue and find. For the first time in a long while, he was ready to play.”

In Nobody Does It Better, readers are introduced to a double agent female heroine who happens to be tough, bold, and feisty as hell. Typically as for heroines, authors tend to gravitate to the standard blonde or brunette heroines and so I was completely surprised that Lexi Blake wrote an Asian American heroine. Kayla Summers is a CIA agent operative who happens to also work for McKay- Taggart London. When Kayla is assigned to be a bodyguard as well as sub for Joshua Hunt, she is in for a surprised how much she has fallen for Joshua.

Joshua Hunt is an A-list actor who has risen from the bottom to the top. He is very private of his past and sexual kinks. As a Dominant, Josh satisfies his cravings and needs with sex that involves BDSM. Usually, his women are just toys. No emotional attachment. Just sex. And so when he meets, Kayla something inside ignites him. He is more than attracted to her. He wants her. Longs for her in a deeper emotional connection.

"That was love. Wanting more for someone even when she couldn’t be the one to give it.”

As Kayla and Josh continue to get closer, Kayla also has to do her job and her mission is to get closer to Josh in order she can accompany him to meet one of Josh’s benefactors. Josh is oblivious to any criminal activities and so when he learns of the real motives of Kayla, will he push her away for good? And will Kayla be able to protect Josh as well as prove to him that she loves him and nothing about her feelings for him is fake?

Nobody Does It Better is a prime example of Lexi Blake’s ability to orchestrate a story that blends heat, passion, duplicity, suspense and tastefully erotica. So if you are looking for a book that had romance and action then I would highly recommend you to read this book.

The Good
Kickass heroine that I’ve adored for a long time. I’ve been waiting for Kayla to get her shot. Her name is even an homage to Buffy Summers, one of my favorite all-time badass heroines. Kayla’s past is a murky one, and she’s worked as a double agent and for many a book, she’s provided some solid advice and pithy one-liners for many of the M&M couples. I loved that she didn’t lose those smarts when she became the leading lady. I loved that she’s as badass as ever, and yet keeps her soul. She’s my favorite lady spy in this ‘verse and I’m so happy to learn more about her life and see her fall in love. Kayla is the best part of this book for me, without a doubt.

Action is as exciting as ever. Plot-tastic. There are so many resurrections, I wasn’t sure if the Rapture was upon us. I mean, this is a tried-and-true plot device in many a continuing drama, and my fave soap operas, but damn if there wasn’t alot of twists for one book. A newbie to this ‘verse would be super confused and there are so many characters that even I’ve forgotten about being spoken of, or actually appearing. However, if you’re like me and you’ve loved this series for a long while, this is the treat for you. Just Ian’s scenes alone are worth the price of admission. I was never bored, and towards the end, even when I suspected some of the final “twists,” it never bored me.

Deeply angsty leading man. Do you love a damaged hero who needs love but who’s so paranoid that he cannot trust worth a damn? Who’s so used to being isolated that he never feels safe. Who hasn’t been in a real relationship? Who doesn’t even kiss, except fake ones for his movies? Ding, ding, ding, who is a tortured hero for the win, Alex! Romance can be a rocky road folks, and with a tortured hero, it’s pretty much a guarantee.

So, basically I’m torn. On the one hand, when someone has been through the hell that Joshua has, I find it compelling to read and emotionally engaging. I empathized with his struggle to trust, and it was sweet when he was instantly attracted, possessive, and eventually so completely enamored of Kayla that all his walls come crashing down. It made it a special kind of painful and angsty, because when he opened up his heart, you just knew that when the inevitable truth of her op was revealed it would be crushing. However...

The Bad.
Tongue lashings, in the bad way. On the other hand, I really struggled with his tendency to reduce his physical intimacy with Kayla to a monetary transaction, especially in the beginning and at times of personal strife. Yes, Joshua contracts Kayla’s services as a submissive because he does not want (or can handle) the intimacy of starting a relationship with a woman. Ms. Blake really does know how to set up the psychological trauma that you know Joshua suffered, and you know that it accounts for alot of what he does and says.

However, to insult and belittle her when he was getting too close as a way to push her away, wasn’t alright with me. I just don’t like when the hero calls the heroine names as a way to lash out at her because of his pain. It did not endear him to me. #itsnotrightorokay I loved that the M&M crew did NOT stand for that at all. I also know that Big Tag and Co. set him straight, while informing the reader (if they didn’t get it already) that Josh hates himself most of all.

Everything in Between.
It is not the end, it is only the beginning. This wraps up the main series, but there is definitely more to come, especially with the Lost Boys and the crossover with her other series, which makes this Lexi Blake enthusiast very happy. While I understand the need to wrap this part of the story, I do enjoy visiting this ‘verse and I’m happy to know that it will live on in some way through these characters in a new setting.

The Bottom Line 4 stars
I was engrossed in the suspenseful twists and turns, and at times, it got really soapy (and perhaps a bit much), but yes, overall I really enjoyed this. If you’re a longtime reader of the M&M series, I think you’ll be happy with this, and if you’re new to the ‘verse, I’d encourage you to give the early books a read first to get the full effect of this romantic suspense series.

I was happy to see Kayla and Josh work their way to an HEA, and I’m eagerly anticipating what will happen with the next generation of Ms. Blake’s spies in their new surroundings.

Wow! I am stunned and moved and….there just aren’t enough words to describe a book that made me feels so many things! I’ve been dying for Kayla’s story and I could not believe how amazing her story turned out…or about the twists and surprises Ms. Blake managed to get into one book! And Kayla’s hero…Josh? Completely swoony and panty-melting. He was perfect….a little cold at first but he melted my heart rather quickly. Kayla is our resident bad-a** female butt kicker and one of the most positive and nurturing people in the entire series. I mean who knew that one little female could be this awesome (think Lucy Liu in Charlie’s Angels and you are just about spot on). I loved her vulnerability though, and the way she lets her guard down when she is with Josh. She has to be one of my favorite heroines of this entire series. Josh is perfect for her. They are completely different but entirely meant to be together. Josh, being a movie star, doesn’t quite know what to do with someone who doesn’t care about his money or fame. And when he finally reveals his deep, dark secret…I cried so hard. It was so surprising yet so damaging. And how he rose from the ashes. Utter perfection. However, this is McKay-Taggert so you know that there is no easy path for this couple. Nope….this book broke my heart so hard and still put it back together at the end. There were some great laughs, some crazy surprises, and the revelation of where the Masters and Mercenaries series is going from here. The plot was suspenseful and moved at a brisk pace. All the characters were engaging and entertaining. But the chemistry and sex! Whew…it blew me away with it’s sheer force and utter perfection. It was highly charged, ultra erotic, and deeply emotional. This book was one of the best books I have read this year and I am super excited to learn what Ms. Blake has in store for us in the future. The epilogue just about gave me a heart attack from sheer excitement. Nobody writes erotic romantic suspense better than Lexi Blake and Nobody Does It Better simply proves it. 5 stars!

Move over James Bond the Taggarts come…
Well, this time not a Taggart per se, but Kayla is associated with our favorite Mercenaries that we got to know during the other books of this series.
Nobody Does It Better is the 15th book in the Masters and Mercenaries Series and even though it CAN be read as a standalone, I recommend reading aaaaaaall the other books before this one, because otherwise you would be missing out a lot. Not only information-wise, but also you would be missing out on a great series.
This book is about Kayla who we got to see in the other books, but we really got to know her in this one and let me tell you: She’s a hoot. An absolute weirdo, but such a lovely weirdo! I laughed so much about her antics and fell in love with her sunny temper and deadly ninja skills.
Josh on the other hand is broken. Way more broken than you would have guessed from his first few lines and way more broken than anybody would have suspected. He was a great character, though. His development throughout the book was off the charts and his hotness wasn’t bad to “look at” either. I really liked how he grew with the problems that were thrown in his way and was a better person in the end.
The plot was great, rather well developed without plotholes or mistakes that would have put me off my reading. The plot twist made me almost, almost throw my kindle on the wall. Seriously. I barely held myself back and that was only because I knew, I had to continue reading. I would have never ever expected that!
As always in this series we have glimpses of the other characters, especially Big Tag who I adore. A lot. He’s my spirit animal. I can’t wait to get the next book in the series and of course. The new series about the Lost Boys.
Well done, Lexi Blake. Well done and thank you for sharing your brainchilds with us.

5 stars for - Nobody Does It Better - book fifteen in the Masters and Mercenaries series by the one and only Lexi Blake! This book can stand alone from all the rest, but after all these books I still find myself falling in love with this series over and over again. This time around both the CIA and Mckay - Taggart are working “together” to catch the bad guys.
Kayla Summers was the ultimate double agent for years before she ultimately retired from a life that was slow chipping away at her humanity. Taking a job with McKay/Taggart/Knight came with the perk of membership into Damon’s club - The Garden - a exclusive BDSM club in London. Through her submission, Kayla was able to find the solace she craved and truly learn to heal all the old wounds. When the agency approached her with a job to not only protect Hollywood’s hottest actor, but also to submit to him, how could she possibly turn it down?
Joshua Hunt came to California for a fresh start at eighteen and has never looked back since. He has gone to great lengths to keep his personal life private and will try to stop any and all information about his past from getting out. So needing multiple bodyguards to protect him from his overzealous fans isn’t much of a stretch it’s the other part of his request he can’t believe he’s actually holding interviews for. If word ever got out that Hollywood’s Golden Boy was a practicing Dom he would never live it down. Thank god for his ironclad NDAs.
This one was everything you love about Ms. Blake’s books - the insanely hot love story that sucks you in, the mystery of what exactly happened to who and why, the insults and jabs that Ian and Adam trade. From laughter and tears to swooning and kink - I loved every single minute. Ezra and the Lost Boys are headed to the land of Bliss and I can’t wait to see how that’s gonna play out next!

I can't believe this is the last book in this series - Yes, I know it's book 15 but damnit I love this series so much. However, I am so excited that we have spinoff series coming about the lost boys and I am soooo looking forward to that.

So I had a hard time rating this book - I kept flipping between 3 and 4, so my overall is 3.5 but I leaned more towards 4 because I only had one issue and I didn't feel that is bad enough to push the book to a 3.

Nobody Does It Better is Kayla's book. She's the last of crew and has spent the majority of her years as a double agent with MSS. She's lived her life playing a role so her new assignment is nothing new to her - submissive bodyguard to one Hollywood's biggest stars. Oh yea......

Josh Hunt has a wicked and dark past that he has tried to leave behind him. It's left him bitter about love. But he has come to realize that the world of BDSM is his calling and one thing he can always rely on. And he now finds himself in need of someone to not only become his submissive but also be able to keep things strict and professional and be his bodyguard.

Lexi does sexy and suspenseful like no one else. She has this perfect mix of intensity with both the BDSM elements and the suspense/action going on. You find yourself get sucked into the story and just breezing through the pages needing to know what happens next. It's that intensity that she just rocks at.

I may not have loved this one as much as others - there was ALOT going on that it was hard to keep track - but I still really enjoyed it. This may have been the last in the series, but she did a great job of transitioning us to the spin off series The Lost Boys. So as sad as I am to have to say goodbye to this series, she has me eager to start the next one.

Reviewed For I'm A Sweet And Sassy Book Whore

I think it is safe to say that Lexi Blake is incapable of writing a bad book but that is just the opinion of this book whore. I get so excited when we get a new book in the Masters and Mercenaries series and Nobody Does It Better was another amazing addition to the series. Typing this review has been hard and bittersweet because this is the final book of the series and I almost feel a loss because I know for me, when I have read a series, especially one as long as this one is and with how much I have loved it, that letting these characters go is an impossible feat. I don’t want to let go of my favorite alpha men, my favorite sassy women or the anticipation of what the next book will be about, but I guess I have no choice.

I have decided to not get into a lot of detail about the storyline because I don’t want to spoil it but what I will say is how I felt while reading Nobody Does It Better. The suspense, the action, the drama had me on edge more than once, my poor heart would race, it would break and it would ache. The sexiness had me squirming in my seat. This entire book just made me feel so many different emotions that at times my emotions would flip from one to the next in a matter of moments. Kayla and Josh may very well surprise you, I know Kayla did, I’ll admit I haven’t always like her character but I am glad that in the end I did.

Nobody Does It Better may be the end to an era but I can guarantee that I will be binge reading the series again in the near future because I am just not ready to let go quite yet. Thank you Ms. Blake for writing one of my favorite series of all times and the journeys you have taken us on.

I truly wish i had read all of the previous books in the Master & Mercenaries series before this one. I hadn't had the chance to read them all, only reading a few here and there, and even though i could easily read this book without knowing too much on the history of the McKay-Taggart business, in a way, i wish i knew it all. It would have give me more of a sense of knowing who is who in the story. There were so many characters that i'm positive that we either have had or will have their stories, and my trying to figure that one out was a bit distracting.

That didn't, however, take away anything from this story at all. It was edgy and takes readers to BDSM clubs and the seedy side of big companies that refuse to tell their operatives the full truth on why they were assigned specific missions. It was captivating in the sense that i was curious to find out whether or not Kayla and Josh would make it in the long run. They seemed so well suited for one another; both with secrets of their own but when they were together, none of it mattered.

I remember reading a book by A. Zanetti a few months ago and there was a reference to Lexi Blake and lo and behold, reading Nobody Does It Better and we get a Zanetti reference!! That part was epic for me... no matter my small hangups from this book, it doesn't take away the fact that it was a very good book that managed to make me dive right back into the McKay-Taggart world and want to read more from this series and even start from the beginning.

Nobody Does It Better by the outstanding author Lexi Blake is book 15 and the final book in the Masters & Mercenaries Series around Ian Taggart and his family. Because that's what his team is, his family.
Nobody Does It Better can be easily be read as a stand alone, while there are characters from previous books - you can directly dive in this one.

Meet Kayla Summers, she was with the CIA for more than half her life, wicked smart and masterful in her field of work. Now she's with McKay-Taggart London when she gets reasigned to the CIA. And her job is Joshua Hunt, top action actor in Hollywood. Everyone wants a piece of him and he's more than cautious. He never wanted a relationship, 'til he meets his new bodyguard/ submissive. Both have this incredible insta -connection and their chemistry is through the roof high. Only Kayla has her own agenda and when the CIA throes a wrench their way, she has to decide between duty and love.

Reading Nobody Does It Better was bittersweet. The book is a breathtaking pageturner, extremely well written with a unique story and I loved it. But it's the last book in the series and have to say good bye was hard, so so hard. The Men With The Golden Cuffs will be my forever favorite read by Lexi Blake, but Nobody Does It Better is a close second. I can't get enough of the Master & Mercenaries Series and I'm fallen in love the characters.

Favorite Quote: " We're all walking wounded if we're living at all. "

I recommend the book and the series and can't wait to get my hands on the spinoff series to Masters & Mercenaries, The Forgotten.

Working as a double operative, Kayla Summers finds herself assigned to a job protecting one of Hollywood’s biggest stars. If protecting Joshua Hunt wasn’t hard enough, Kayla is also supposed to act as Joshua’s submissive. With a trip to Mexico in the books, Kayla knows this assignment should have been a piece of cake. That was until both Kayla and Joshua realized they had feelings invested in their relationship.

With a past that Joshua just can’t escape, relationships were never in the cards for the Hollywood heartthrob. Yet there is something about Kayla that Joshua just can’t get out of his system. Loneliness has plagued Joshua, and Kayla seems to hold the key to soothing his soul. A connection that was not anticipated.

Betrayal is the name of the game. How can Kayla keep Josh safe with the threats that are looming over his head? With danger lurking all around both lovers will discover more about their past and present than they imagined.

Can you believe this is the end? A journey with the Masters and Mercenaries that was full of love, lust and insanely hot sex!! Kayla and Joshua are the final chapter in a legacy that has spanned through the members of McKay-Taggart. A connection that was long awaited and certainly a fitting end to the series. While this book CAN be read as a standalone, I strongly recommend taking in each nuance of the entire series in reading order. It only adds further to the back history of the members of McKay-Taggart. A fitting end to a series that fans of Lexi Blake have loved from the very beginning.

M/F BDSM Thriller
Triggers: Murder, Kidnapping, Torture
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Joshua and Kayla have a very lucrative relationship with each other. Joshua is looking for a submissive who can also protect him and Kayla is trying to do the right thing for her agency and country.

Kayla has been living a double life for years. She knows her job and knows that she's amazing at it. What she is lacking is a companion. When she is hired on to protect Joshua, she knows that her employment is supposed to appear like a true D/s relationship.

Joshua has been searching for a submissive who he can play with, but he also knows that he has to take the people stalking him seriously. What he doesn't realize is how lonely he's been. When he meets Kayla, there is an instant attraction and he knows that they will match well.

Both are expecting to carry out their contract and go their separate ways. However, fate and love hand them a very different situation and both need to decide how they want to proceed. There will be betrayal in several forms, risky situations, old players and new players coming at the mystery from several different angles. I really hope in the next book there are more answers, but this was a fast paced, steamy read that was very enjoyable.

If you’re looking for an exciting, interesting and emotional romance with a little mystery, suspense and BDSM, don’t miss Lexi Blake’s scoring hot Nobody Does It Better. Blake can always be relied upon to deliver a unique and action-packed story, and this is one of her best in the Master and Mercenaries series. It’s the fifteenth book, but they are all stand-alones.

Kayla and Josh both have complicated pasts and present day secrets. He’s a famous actor with a mysterious backstory, and she’s lead a dangerous life as a double agent and is now on an undercover mission as Josh's bodyguard and submissive. Their chemistry is electrifying from the moment they meet and they are VERY compatible in the bedroom, but both are surprised when they begin to develop feelings for each other. They are each slow to trust others and afraid to believe in love, especially Josh.

Kayla is the perfect match for him as he battles his inner demons. She’s strong, caring and one of my favorite heroines to date. As she and Josh continue to become closer, her secret mission begins to unravel. There are unpredictable twists and turns, surprising revelations, sizzling love scenes and deeply emotional moments in Nobody Does It Better ensuring the reader will not be able to put this one down.

Nobody Does It Better is the fifteenth installment of the Master and Mercenaries series by Lexi Blake.

Kayla was a former double spy, but now she’s wanting a normal every day life. But before she can reach for normality, she has one last job. Though half of it won’t be easy. She’s to be a bodyguard for the Hollywood heartthrob, Joshua Hunt, but undercover as his submissive sub.

Can she keep her heart out of this, or will this undercover cop be spotted a mile away?

I’ve loved the Master and Mercenaries series since I got my greedy little hands on them. I don’t recall Kayla, but I do remember her as a secondary character from previous books. I did have to so a bit of research and find her, but Nobody Does It Better truly capture’s not only her wit, and highly trained skills, but who she is as a person. Joshua, oh man, I love this man. The development of his character was amazing and I love the man he is…even if he’s broken a lot of hearts along the way.

Once again, Lexi has created two amazing characters that I totally fell in love with. However, no one could surpass the king and queen, aka; Ian and Charlotte from Love and Let Die.

I highly recommend reading the full series even though most of them can be read as standalone.

The idea of a submissive bodyguard...ok, now THAT is interesting. And, this book delivers. It's as interesting, compelling and hot as you think it will be from the description. It's also the last in the series, darn it. Although, there is a spin off and this is mentioned at the end...and it's a story I have wanted to hear, so that helps with knowing this is it for Masters and Mercenaries.

Josh is famous, Hollywood royalty, and needs security. Kayla is his bodyguard...there is a lot more there than that, but it's full of spoilers and I am not going to do that too you here...it's a twisty mess that works its way out through the book, so you are just going to have to read this one to see what happens (and, I recommend that you do exactly this!)

As this is the 15th title in the series, there is some overlap of characters, however you are able to pick up what is happening with Josh and Kay, even if you haven't read any of the other titles.

As always, this book was well written with some great use of pop culture references (snakes anyone?) that make the characters feel like real people who just happen to also carry guns and train for hand-to-hand combat.

I am sad to see the end of the series, but excited to see where the spin off goes from here.

I recommend this title.

All I can say is triple wow. This book is far more then D/s its a lot more then one would think it would be.
Kayla Summers was an elite CIA double agent, she worked inside the MSS inside China. Now she works for McKay-Taggart London, but the CIA is not quite done with her. Spy Ezra Fain needs her help and sends her to Hollywood. Intrigued as she is and the movie star that she will protect, she finds herself in his bed and she realizes that she is not only risking her life but also her heart.

Joshua Hunt is a legend of the silver screen. As Hollywood’s highest paid actor. So, I’m going to go out on the limb and say that I will forever be in awe when it comes to Lexi Blake’s writing. I thank the book gods the day that I stumbled upon one of the books in the Masters & Mercenaries Series because once I started that first book I knew that I had to continue with this series. Lexi Blake always delivers a well written, suspense filled, laced with some of the hottest sexy scenes and alpha males that will make you droll stories. That was the case with Kayla and Josh’s story.

The chemistry between these was off the charts, some of the best sex scenes out there. Put those things together with suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will not put this book down. Also I have loved Kayla ever since I was introduced to her in the other books, to me she’s hilarious as they come. Josh was so mysterious that I enjoyed it when Lexi Blake started to peel away his layers, trust me when I say you will love what you find in the middle of it all.

I must say that I am a little saddened that this is the final book in series, this will most definitely go down as one of my favorite of series of all time. Way to end with a bang Lexi Blake, pun intended.

Kayla and Joshua are a couple that have had to fight hard for their HEA and I was on the edge of my seat for most of this book. Kayla is a double-agent and has led a life that would make a lesser woman crumble under the pressure. But she's so smart and beautiful and savvy that when she gets an assignment to protect Joshua Hunt things change for both of them.

Ms. Blake has written a book that is full of intrigue and suspense and oh my goodness heat when Kayla is being a submissive to Josh's Dominance. Talk about a sizzling connection! But as much as he doesn't believe in finding the love of his life, Kayla changes all of that even if he did come to it kicking and screaming.

And there's a couple of bombshells in this book that I sat there with my mouth gaping open because I couldn't believe it myself. But leave it to Ms. Blake to give us a gasping twist in this amazing series!

This is a perfect ending to the last of the original McKay-Taggert crew getting their HEA and as I turned the last page, I was thrilled to see that there's so much more to this world that I ever thought we'd get and I for one cannot wait!!!

The quality of work that Lexi Blake produces is unsurpassed. Her writing is exciting, intelligent and gripping. Her characters are strong, bold, and richly complex. The storylines are dynamic and intense with the right mix of romance and suspense. I laughed out loud, shed tears and held my breath in anticipation of what might happen next. I could not put this book down!

Joshua and Kayla's love story is compelling. He is gorgeous, talented, haunted and a man in control. She is beautiful, deadly and a highly skilled operative. Together they are explosive. Joshua needs a bodyguard and he wants a submissive. Kayla fills the bill on both counts. Their relationship quickly evolves from professional to personal as feelings develop. A tangled web of blackmail, deceit, betrayal, and danger surrounds them as a mission goes sideways. Truths are revealed, lives are lost and a bad guy gets away. Joshua realizes how close he came to losing Kayla and how much he loves her. Kayla's love for Joshua is unwavering. They do get their HEA.

The McKay-Taggart team continues to battle both the good guys who go bad and bad guys who get badder. Kayla has a history with the company and has seen and done things she can’t forget. Joshua has a past that continues to haunt him even years after his childhood. They are both broken in their own ways but together can make themselves whole. There are lots of true Lexi Blake plot twists and turns. She knows how to keep you guessing. And of course it is steamy and BDSM decadent. Absolutely a must read in the series.

Another great book in the Masters and Mercenaries Series. This is about a spy, Kayla Summers working for a movie star, Joshua Hunt,as a personal body guard. He also has two more of Taggart's men. There is a lot of good action, romance and a few surprises. I loved the adrenaline rush that comes when I'm reading it during all the action scenes. A Great Read.

I am totally blown away! I just finished this book and I’m excited, exhausted and have the beginnings of a major book hangover. I love Lexi Blake’s books and she did not disappoint me. I laughed and cried and got mad at characters and did it all over again. I think I’m going to have to go back and read this again (like right now) to get my fix again. Go get this book!!!

Every Lexie Blake book is exciting and romantic. I loved tough girl Kayla from the first time we met her. To get to know she’s not only a bad ass but a sweet heart is awesome. The fact that both Kayla and Josh overcome their past and find their future is awesome!

This book was completely captivating and I didn't want to put it down. I loved how we got to see a lot of the McKay-Taggart team while the majority of the book focused on Kayla's mission. When her job with Joshua starts, she realizes he's more than what she was expecting. Not only does he light her body on fire, there's more to him that meets the eye. Yet, he's still holding back on her. I enjoyed the journey these two had. I love the way Lexi draws the reader in and keeps them on the edge of their seat! I knew that Kayla's mission was temporary but I fell in love with her and Josh! Gah! I wanted her to be able to maintain a relationship with him, as they complemented each other so nicely! Even though, nice isn't the word I'd use for her. She's small and appears delicate but Josh soon realizes she can hold her own, even with him.

I loved the twists and the turns this book had. There's action and this book had a lot of emotions. I thought this was bittersweet as it's the last of the Masters and Mercenaries series, but it's not the end for Lexi! There's another series to come and I don't want to ruin the surprise. You'll have to read to find out more.

In this book, we get to see more about Kayla and who she is to both the CIA and the Taggart group out of Dallas. We meet an actor named Josh Hunt when Kayla and two others from the group are sent in as body guards due to the Hollywood Boy's stalkers and threats. You know how Hollywood is! Well, we find that we get a whole lot more than we bargained for in this book. I mean HOLY SMOKES! Let's see, double agents, treason, treachery, threats, blackmail, love, familiy, etc. There's a whole lot to love about this book. I could not put it down once I started it. With a bit over 4 hours of reading time for me, and the need to use the restroom at one point, I did not stop. The restroom just had to wait. I cannot say that about many books. These books by Lexi Blake however, do make that a common occurance for me when I read them. You will defintely enjoy this book. This book also has me wanting to go back and read everything that I have missed out on before now.

So, this book made me have all the feels, I was all over the board, and it all bounces and crashes into and around Josh and Kayla. There are so many curves, that it is hard to say what happens to them, but know that they both are hurt. They both realize what they know, what they have based their thoughts and actions on for so long, isn't what their lives really are. They do let a lot go, and they do turn to each other, even when they don't want to. Josh is darkness and Kayla is light, yet, when they other needs it, they absorb the world or light the way

In the end, Kayla and Josh fall in love with each other. Being in love, and letting that love flow from their heart and soul, it warms them in a way nothing else ever can. This is a love story, pure and simple, with a whole lot of spy stuff going on around our couple that is perfect for each other!

First time reading this author and series and I found myself lost that I was missing some of the background to some of the characters and the story. Other than that I found story to be well written and the characters are full of depth and personality. I felt the characters was jumping off the page as they was soo well described.

I would highly recommend starting this series from the beginning to be able to understand the background and the characters. I would recommend the author.

Lexie does not disappoint. Kayla was so open with everything but what was important. Honesty and no lies. Though only one lie, it had the power to not give them their happily ever after. Only through danger does Josh realise his depth of love for her. Another winner Lexi.

Kayla Summers is needed for an op from the Agency. She thinks that she is just to get informant from a actor named Joshua Hunt. But things are not what they seems. 2 people come back from the dead and one is wanting Kayla dead while the other one is trying to keep Kayla alive. Which one will win? You will have to read this book to find out.

This series was so great I loved reading them, and now they will be one for the lost boys as well I can not wait to get started on them
