In a beautiful flowing way, Ms Singh has given her fans exactly what they wanted: a way to know what occurs after HEA in her character's lives. I cannot wait for the second arc of the Psy-Changeling to begin. This book was well worth the wait.

I enjoy Nalini's work and like how the stories are expanding. I feel it could have been edited as the back ground information was repeated a lot throughout the book. But was really great to see the story unfold.

I'm not a big reader. Read mainly for information not pleasure, but this series has changed all that. Pre bought this book and it was delivered on a Sunday. Couldn't be happier. Time to lose myself in book 15.
Mine to Possess (Psy-Changelings - Book 4) (Psy/Changeling Series) :: Archangel's Heart (A Guild Hunter Novel) :: Visions of Heat (Psy-Changelings, Book 2) :: Gaslight (Crossbreed Series Book 4) :: Archangel's Consort (Guild Hunter Book 3)

Waste of money. The book does not have a plot. Basically, there are short clips of all the characters in her previous books. I felt like she was just writing this book for money. Not the quality I was expecting from Singh.

Five stars because every character continued in the kaleidoscope twist telling of the psy-changeling world of Nalini Singh. The book is fashioned so smartly with a brief reflection of each past that is so smooth, it is less like paraphrasing and more a retelling with interesting tidbits thrown in. The reader doesn't have to worry about feeling like you are repeating anything nor feeling that one must re-read previous books. Xavier outcome caused me grief (no spoilers). I am once again, wrung out and waiting for the next sojourn with Nalini.

I am a huge fan of Nalini Singh's Psy/Changelings series and I loved Allegiance of Honor. I really liked that the book, while advancing the overall storyline and setting up the 2nd series arc, let us catch up with all of the characters and relationships that we know and love. It's not often that the reader is given that gift. I also enjoyed that Nalini brought this 1st series full-circle, with Lucas, Sasha, and Naya being the main focus. I'd complain about having to wait a long time until the next book comes out, but Nalini gifted us again, with "Wild Embrace" coming out in August.

Ok, the book was great and I would have given it 5 stars but we still don't know who the architect is...we can assume it's Pax Marshall but we don't really know and honestly it doesn't make sense for it to be him, he's too young. It would have been better if she had still left us totally clueless. Also, a lot of things just got left up in the air. The HA brains, humans in the psynet. I realize it's for future books but we were really left hanging on some important info.

No action. Absolutely no action. It was TOO sweet. Everyone loves each other. Half the book was spent giving background on the character that just came on the scene. It was tangled in back story and setting up for the next phase. I love Nalini Singh. She is fantastic. The series is at that stage where it is either going to sink or swim. Sometimes authors hang on to a beloved series when they should let it go. Christine Feehan has done that. I think that won't be the case for Nalini because she is such a great author. However, I can already see the beginnings of old storylines being set up. New characters where I am like ...oh that is like Brenna. Or he is like Kalab. I have faith that Nalini Singh can pull it off.

I have to admit that it was not a good surprise. Nothing happened in this book. It was very badly edited. It looked like pieces of potential novellas were mixed together along with a summary of the other novels and the result was very bad. I had to skip many pages because the story did not go anywhere. Even the most complex characters sounded flat. One would think that the publisher and editor listed all requests and questions of fans and had the author reply to each of them. Sure there were some good moments but they were so rushed that I would have preferred they were not even mentioned.

Spoilers ahead:
- Anthony and Nikita seem to be getting very close.
- Vasic is adjusting to his new situation and does not want a prosthetic arm (I think he is not going to survive very long with one arm in the Arrows).
- Mercy and Riley have triplets: 2 wolf boys and 1 feline girl (seriously?). Oh and wait they decided to give each of the boys a second name: Lucas and Hawke.
- Hawke has decided not kill Ming right now but to make him suffer by having him lose his power (in Business transactions...).
- Walker and Lara are having a baby.
- Brenna and Judd want to wait before having kids but are so excited about the news. Judd is thrilled about being an uncle again (T_T) and he is already babysitting Emmet's kid.
- Xavier is finally reunited with his Nina.
- Kaleb is the (not so) mysterious TK boy who saved Annie (Zach's mate). Annie and Zach want to treat him like family now and are going to give their kid a second name Kaleb.
- Kit is leaving.
- Oh and wait for it. Riaz is so happy that his mating tug toward the married human woman (whose husband is dying by the way) is gone. He is happy because he felt like he was cheating on the woman he came to love (after he was rejected by the other). He recognizes that the pull was odd since the beginning (tell me about it) because the woman was human and very much in love with her husband. He adds that she would not have been able to love someone else if she was from the same race. Oh and he says that to Hawke who happens to be mated to a Psy after his Changelling mate wannabe died as a child.

I totally agree w/ the review by Arlene Smith. It was completely boring and a waste of time (and money)! I kept waiting for something to happen! I own and have read all of Nalini Singh's books in all of her series and have loved them all, but this one could have stayed off my kindle.

Love the series. It was a fun to catch up with everyone & get hints on upcoming possibilities. The books can be read out of order; but having read the previous stories, it's really gives insight into the characters personalities & how they've evolved. Can't wait for the next one.

Not only met but exceeded my expectations completely!!!! LOVED this book. I'm liking the new approach Nalini took this time with brushing over everyones story instead focusing on just one or two characters, I hope the next ones stick to this theme also (although I'd totally be OK with one for Anthony and Nikita... just saying).

Story was fast paced but not so much that it got confusing - incredibly well written, wish I had more to read right now!!!! Cannot wait for the next one!!!!

I actually give it 3 and a half stars. It's mainly a update on all the previous main characters. My all time favorite is Kaleb's one. And sort of a preview or glimpse into the 2nd arc storyline... I actually felt it could hv been included this in book itself so we could actually read/have that something unfolding....but it's the authors choice. And I leave it up to her to unravel it in her next coming books. Cheers.

I liked the book, specially Kaleb's scenes, but the pace is really slow.

Quite different from other books, where we usually have one or two couples as the main characters.

In this book we go back to the couple that started the series and their kid.

I love the series and I'm looking forward to the next part.

I have read all the Psy/Changeling books. I was looking forward to this one. It was not what I expected. There was no couple meeting and falling in love. This book was about what was going on the their world now. How it is changing. This book is very different to the others. There is not alot of fighting. We do finally get to know what Riley and Mercy have and how many. No one wins the betting pool. I enjoyed it.

This a break in the normal format of the series (not focusing on a new romance), rather a series of interludes covering roughly 2 months.
I would no recommend this as a place for a new reader to start, much of the enjoyment comes from reading about old familiar characters.
I found it highly enjoyable however and look forward to the next book.

I own the entire Psy/Changeling series and pre-ordered this book in March of this year. I normally adore all of Nalini Singh's works, but not this one. Instead of a fascinating plot involving a handful of characters, Ms. Singh bounced around from one established couple to the next. It was less a story and more a checking in with where the characters were at now. Additionally, the cast of characters was entirely too huge for this book. As a result, the book featured shallow subplots with minor hints at shadowy antagonists. There was very little conflict and tension to drive the story forward. If you're expecting this book to be like her other novels, you'll be disappointed. However, if you're just wanting to read about the happy feels of all the couples and you don't care about there being an actual plot, then this book is for you. I will say that Ms. Singh's Author's Note does address the fact that Allegiance of Honor's purpose is to focus on the interconnected lives of all the characters. I just wish that information had been mentioned in the book jacket summary. I suggest you wait to get it at your local library or purchase it used. It's certainly not worth the hard cover price I paid for it.

This was the first in the series I found unsatisfying. It is a bit like the montage shots at the end of a film or series that shows what happens after the happy ever after moment. It clearly sets up characters for future stories and reveal new enemies and nefarious plots. But it feels like a series of snap shots rather than a storyline. It also felt like looking at the images not being part of them. The writing didn't engage. I struggled at times to keep reading. There was also a heavy emphasis on the joy and bonds of the characters relationships but honestly it felt too perfect at times and too mushy.

As a rule I love Nalini s book, but this one was a disappointment in so many ways. I kept flipping thru large chunks of the book looking for the action only to run into either very little action or more, "I love you, you're my life, what would I do without you" you get my drift. I think I'm about thru with this series.

A lot has happened recently in the Psy-Changeling world. Most notably, the fall of Silence. The Psy have learned that the empaths that they tried to hide and even muffle their powers of are a lot more important than they ever realized. Not only are they not flawed, they are some of the more powerful Psy and their absence in the Psynet is what has been destroying it. However, there is still something missing, the net is decaying at an alarming rate. They must figure out how to fix it or they will all perish.

Now the different races are coming together to try to form a pact to where they can all live in peace among each other and can even work together. The Trinity Accord promises just that, but it has many bugs that need to be worked out, like knowing someone’s true intentions when signing the agreement.

Lucas Hunter has had a big hand in the Trinity Accord, but his focus is splintered when the unthinkable happens and someone tries to kidnap his little girl. Now he will stop at nothing to find out who was responsible and eradicate them once and for all.

I love the Psy-Changeling series so I was excited to receive this installment to review. But I was a bit crushed when I heard rumors that this was the FINAL installment! I’ve grown to love this series and don’t want to say goodbye to my friends! However, after reading the author’s note in this book, I’m not so sure this *is* the final book… wishful thinking, perhaps?

“I hope you enjoy Allegiance of Honor—and here’s to the next book and season two of the Psy-Changeling series.”

Not only does that make it sound like there is more to come, but this book just didn’t read like a finale. Yes, we got an update on several of our favorite characters throughout the series, maybe even some we had forgotten about. But there is still so much up in the air. Will the Trinity Accord succeed? Who was responsible for Naya’s kidnapping? And, the DarkSea kidnappings for that matter. How can the Psy fix the Psynet? Not to mention the new Ocelot characters that were introduced. We *just* met them, but there is still so much story to tell there, I’m sure!

This book really didn’t advance the storyline at all. And frankly it didn’t keep my interest like this series usually does. I’m ashamed to admit that I was able to put this book down for an entire week!! And, even then I really didn’t want to go back to it. That is unheard of for me with a Nalini Singh book! So, I really hope that this isn’t the last we’ll see of this series because when this series ends I want it to be on a high note, and this book just didn’t do it for me.

*OBS would like to thank the publisher for supplying a free copy of this title in exchange for an honest review*

This book was way way too long because She decided to update us about every character in the other14 books . Although parts of the work was interesting to read about the characters but over all it was BORING a d to much "kid cuteness". The actual plot was never finished . Who tried to kidnap Naya ? We still don't know. Who set up a "kidnap" of Jon ( though he was never kidnapped). Nothing was resolved with who what when where. They did not find who actually is kidnapping the Black Sea changelings. And the biggest thing was what happened with the new psynet rot. This book was really not good for answering the plot arc. I feel like you're trying to " reel in more interest". How can you have a book that is almost 500 pages without answering the actual plot . In one of your newsletters you said that you will be having new people and plots etc. but maybe you should actually finish this book. Please never write a 500 page book. -- You could've trimmed this puppy easily even with all the recaps of the characters . I know this is strong but it's my opinion. This is not typical of this author past books. Go to local library for this one.

I am really disappointed with this book. In preparation for a new Nalini book I reread the series over the last few weeks to get up to date. I needn't have bothered as that's one of the main purposes of this book - to recap every novel that preceded it. Because of that there were huge chunks of this book that were incredibly boring. I found myself skipping pages or skim reading until I came across something I didn't already know - there wasn't much. There is so much in this book that we didn't have to experience, that would have been just as emotive if we'd read about it in passing in a book that concentrated on one couple's story line. And honestly, the endless discussion about Trinity protocol was beyond dull. I don't know what happened in this book. I seriously love this series and hope it gets back on track with the next one. Unfortunately, after reading this one, I'll be more hesitant of pre-ordering future books - as I said, I'm disappointed and this was a lot of money to spend for a recap.

Nalini. NALINI. I love you, but this is such filler, I am a little astonished it got okayed to be published as a book. The recap, the touching on every couple, it was just boring. :*(

And that makes me super sad because until this point, I could say that you were one of the few authors that kept my interest book after book after book in the same series.

I'll keep reading, but I returned this one. Please, no more like this.

Favorite Quote:

"We never finished our dance"

Sahara's response was soft, her eyes holding a thousand dreams. "We never will. This dance we're in, it's forever."

Somehow all my latest favorite quotes are from Kaleb. Haha not that I'm all that suprised since he is so epic. It took a really long time for me to find a favorite character. I'm very attached to a few couples in this series. I love Brenna/Judd, Hawk/Sienna and of course Sahara/Kaleb.

We got to catch up on pretty much every couple and character in this series, as well as throwing in a few new characters on top of it. Jeez, this world is so huge and yet so connected. Compared to the usual book in the psy-changeling series, this book does not follow one couple falling in love and beating the odds against them. This book is pretty plot-driven and hops from one couple to another. Yet this is done quite seamlessly within the plot as each new step is how things are revealed.

It's really nice to see past the "happily ever after" of the end of each novel. To see some of your favorite couples having children, or deciding when they want children. To see them together and happy.

There is still a lot to be seen in the psy-changeling world. We still have Ming in play, there is the remnants of the Consortium, this Architect who seems quite ready to decimate everyone's happy ending. I'm quite interested in the problems with the psy-net that we found the reasoning for. How will that work out? What will they do to work on that problem? Reading this actually made me realize I missed the book with Max and the J-Psy. I MUST go back and read it now. Pretty sure I own it.

I really liked that we got to see much more of the water changelings as well. I REALLY REALLY want a book with a water changeling couple. NEED THIS IN MY LIFE RIGHT AWAY. PLEASE NALINI LISTEN TO MY PLEA.

Also nice to see how the arrows are progressing, Lucas and Sascha's adorable psy-changeling little cat, and just all over I had a lot of fun catching up with all my beloved couples from the prior books. I can tell there is so much more to come but I cannot wait to see what Nalini has in store for us next.

This book is a treat for those who have loved the series, the characters, the cultures, the different communities... it brings the Changelings, the Psi and Humans together in ways we haven't experienced before, not just as the Trinity Accord is taking effect/beginning, not just as the age of distrust and war is finally, hopefully, being left behind, but it brings these vastly different groups together as family.

There were times when I wanted more plot, more meaningful threads to be following, this felt like a long book for so little story, but the reality was there were a LOT of characters in here, and each was dealt with in such a gentle and careful way that readers who have not read every novel in the series are given enough vital information about the people in a given seen to not feel lost. I have read most of the books as they came out, so in some cases it has been years since a read a given character/couples story, and yet this book refreshed my memory, reminded me where they worked, or provided some key tidbit that had me smiling and nodding saying "ah yeah, that's right, and remember you" and the story continued to flow even as this was done.

The various groups have ongoing situations and plotlines that have been developing over the course of books... the situation in the Psi-Net is explored here, with more information coming to light, the once isolated and territorial Changeling packs are creating a new normal for themselves, and a new relationship with their fellow packs, as well as the Psi and Humans, and the Humans have problems of their own that in the earliest books they never could have imagined turning to the Changelings, or especially the Psi, for help with, but now those "others" may prove to be their saving grace.

I enjoyed catching up with all the characters we've gotten to know throughout the various books, seeing them interact, and feeling as if the tapestry that has been this series was being neatly pulled together, perhaps even prepared for display, as I was being given a clearer picture of just how interconnected the world, and the beings on it, had become through the characters we've come to know.

I'm writing this review not necessarily just on this book but on the Psy Changeling series as a whole. I have read each book and have enjoyed some books better than others. I was initially disappointed that this book, "Allegiance of Honor" didn't focus on any one character or couple and was just basically a wrap up of all the previous characters and love stories. It's clear, she is ending a part of the plot line to start a new focus. I am okay with that. I have found after having read all these stories, that there are some plot points that by this time I am having trouble actually believing. First, the Psy implement Silence 100 years ago to manage their violent abilities and over the 100 years they have supposedly gotten 100% of the Psy population (with the exception of the original Forgotten who defected at the beginning of Silence) to continue the silent protocol. I don't buy that. No group could ever get 100% compliance. If you expect me to believe they could have gotten 100% of the men to agree to never have sex again under any circumstance, I don't buy it. You would never get that kind of compliance. The sex drive in human beings is SO strong that no healthy man or woman would be able to completely divorce him or herself from the desire for sex to never engage in it out of curiosity or desire. I think a completely underground culture would have developed with the Psy. There would have been romantic pairings and I think there would have even been more than three human/psy pairings as well. No desire for order could have completely oblierated the desire to pair bond. And no population would willingly give up sex. I don't care how much of a threat there would be, certain Psy couples would have found a way to each other and to other humans and changelings. 100 years would not be enough time to wipe out that kind of desire, especially since the Psy are living right next to humans and changelings who are not silent. Human emotions are not silenced. They would have spilled out and not just as mass murder. You would have had pair bondings, love, and children born to Psy who never did reproductive contracts or reproductive technologies.

My thoughts.

The dawning of a new era brings destruction, chaos, and an emerging fragile hope for three races..

In her latest release, Singh catches up on many favorite characters from previous books while beginning a new storyline between the Consortium and the Trinity. The main focus is on Sascha and Lucas's daughter Naya. She represents the best of both changeling and Psy and the Consortium is determined to destroy the fragile hope she represents to the new world. We see new bonds of friendship forged as the search for a missing changeling expands across the globe and old ones strengthened with new members. Readers are also introduced to a new generation-the pupcubs!- they were so worth waiting for!- and we get to peek in on the kids we've seen growing up during the course of the series.

From saying goodbye to old friends and welcoming new ones, to new rules and shifting alliances..the multitude of characters involved gave different perspectives on a variety of issues plaguing the different groups since Trinity was introduced..and I enjoyed that approach. It reaffirmed old bonds and showed fissures in others and also clarified a magnitude of issues the groups are dealing with. There are so many other things I am dying to say but won't because I don't want to spoil this book for anyone before they have a chance to read it!

This book was a little challenging to review if you've never read the series. If you have read the series you'll enjoy catching up with everyone! If you enjoy paranormal or fantasy romance and haven't read Singh I highly recommend her books! She never ceases to amaze me with the intricate relationships she has created in the Psy/Changeling world. The world-building is phenomenal and over the years, she has managed to create a cast of characters that will make you feel an entire gamut of emotion and Allegiance is a wonderful culmination of the first storyline.

Allegiance of Honor is a transition book in a multiple book series and is NOT a stand alone read.

I received this ebook from Netgalley and Berkley Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

A unique and innovative long epilogue-style story for a large and colorful cast of characters that acts as the bridge between the first season of a compelling and riveting futuristic paranormal romance world of the Psy-Changlings into the second season, that of the new Psy-Changling Trinity series.

Allegiance of Honor is book fifteen and of all the books in the series that must be read in order this is the one. The author explains before the book opens that this one is different from the rest of the series and has a different purpose.

It spends time with the major players and some secondary ones tightening up and even finishing off some of their storylines while setting the table for what is to come. It flips scenes swiftly though the reader is never confused as to who is the narrator and focus of the scene.

While it snapshots each romance pair from the novels and novellas to a certain extent, it does focus on some more than others. The romance and passion is that of established pairs and how they are becoming family-types and addressing what family and family ties are coming to mean.

There are also a couple of new story threads like Xavier on his quest to find his Nina, the Black Sea Changlings and their quest to find a kidnapped pack member, the unknown and dangerous Architect of the Consortium, a few rare snippets giving great insight into the backstory of Nikita Duncan and a full-circle moment involving Kaleb as a youthful hero.

It was unique in element and construct, too. It has the distinction of being swift moving because of the rapid scene changes, but also slow-paced because it is more character than action-driven. It pauses on daily life moments both at home and in their work to keep the Psy-net healthy and foil Consortium plots.

I went in with the right expectations after reading other reviews and the author's note so I didn't get surprised or have to adjust to the difference between Allegiance of Honor and the rest of the series that came before it. It was a huginormous gift to the fans and I will cherish the warm fuzzy this one is while looking forward to what is to come as everyone under the Trinity Accord gets ready for what the Consortium is planning to throw at them next.

Ever loved a series so much that you just keep wishing it never ended? Do you read Nalini's newsletter and always wish the short stories were longer because you just don't want to leave your beloved characters behind? If so, this book is SO for you.

I know a lot of people have complained about it being slow, and it was, but the thing is, it SHOULD be. This is a closing point, the ending of the first ARC and honestly? The biggest fan treat ever. Don't think of it as another book in the series, think of it more as the director's extended cut of a movie.

We see all our favorite couples, we see how they have changed (we finally find out about the pupcubs!!). We lose a loved character but see the importance of his/her (to avoid the spoiler) legacy. We see the new generations and the old. We see how the Psy, the humans and the changelings have changed and, how for some things, they have not. We, once again, discover the importante of family, friendship and love and how they, through the last fourteen books, created bonds that encompass all the races around the globe. It's hard to even remember a time when DarkRiver and SnowDancer weren't such close allies and yet there was a time where Lucas and Hawke could barely stand in the same room without growling. If there is something Nalini does perfectly, that is move things along. Unlike many other long paranormal series, her world isn't stagnant. She didn't drag the fall of Silence through 50 books, and when it finally did, it wasn't a magical fix. She truly amazes me.

AoH starts with Sascha and Lucas and it also ends with Sascha and Lucas, the couple who started it all. I felt teary just thinking about it (They are also one of my favorite couples! And Naya totally stole the show). This quote, in particular, I feel represent the journey she has taken us through the last ten years:

“We have to write a whole new rule book, don’t we?”
Lucas’s panther rumbled awake deep in his chest. “That’s what rebels do.” And Sascha Duncan, cardinal empath, mate to an alpha, and mother to a Psy-Changeling child, was the rebel who’d blown the PsyNet wide open."

― from "Allegiance of Honor (Psy-Changeling Novel)"

So basically, I LOVED IT and I have the biggest freaking hangover ever!

Fifteenth in the Psy-Changeling paranormal romance series and revolving around three distinct groups in the year 2082: changelings, psychics, and humans. The primary focus is on Lucas Hunter.

If you're interested, there is a chronological listing of the Psy-Changeling books on my website.

My Take
Singh noted in her Author's Note that Shards of Hope , 14, closed the first arc of the series and opens the second with Allegiance of Honor looking back over what has happened so far and where everyone is now, a catch-up novel. Think of it as taking a deep breath and settling in with everyone in the aftermath of Shards of Hope .

The entire story revolves around Lucas, Sascha, and Naya. Being involved in their intimate family life is such a treat as we get to play with Naya and discover what a sweetheart she is in both her skins. Well, okay, there's also that sneaky, underhanded plot on Hawke's part to take down Ming and more trauma in trying to find Leila. But Lucas is the center with all the subplots spinning back to him as the core whom everyone trusts.

The story primarily uses third-person omniscient while Father Perez's letters use an epistolary point-of-view which pops up every now and again. And we FINALLY get Father Perez's back history and how he allied with Judd and Kaleb.

Oh, lord. I love the paragraph in which Singh describes the home Dorian designed. I. Want. I just don't want the heating bill, lol.

It is a blow to discover how much Nikita cared, especially compared to how she showed it. Her approach did make sense at the time. And it's still breathtaking as Nikita continues to compare herself against her daughter.

My favorite part of this series is how supportive the changelings are of their children and each other. I want to be adopted in!

It's a time of bonding, cementing alliances, working through concerns, as the good guys solidify their trust in each other. The children are blending through their playdates and learning from each other. The various packs of changelings, humans, and different Psy groups are discovering the benefits of cooperation and friendship…and, lol, party-planning is an essential. It's absolutely beautiful.

The Story
The Psy-Changeling world has undergone a staggering transformation and now stands at a crossroads. The Trinity Accord promises a new era of cooperation between disparate races and groups, a beacon of hope, even as it teeters.

As always when more than one person is involved, with decades of distrust and suspicion, there is wariness. Attitudes that aren't helped when a bottle washes ashore in San Francisco with a cry for help and tiny Naya is targeted.

But no one can stand alone, and vulnerability proves the value of friendship and loyalty. A time to weave bonds between the disparate groups.

The Characters
Lucas Hunter, a black panther, is the alpha for the DarkRiver leopards and the first to mate with a Psy, Sascha Duncan, a cardinal empath. They have an almost-one-year-old daughter, Nadiya "Naya", the only Psy-Changeling child in the world. Carlo and Shayla had been Lucas' parents.

DarkRiver is…
…a cat pack based outside San Francisco while their corporate headquarters is in Chinatown. Clay is the chief construction supervisor for DarkRiver Construction and a pack sentinel. He's mated to Talin, "Tally", a submissive ( Mine to Possess , 4). They've adopted Jon, one of the Forgotten with a new ability, and Noor (Home", 9.7).

Nathan Ryder is the most senior sentinel and mated to Tamsyn, the pack healer. They have the most mischievous twin sons, Roman and Julian. Ferocious is their pet kitty. Tamsyn has taken Jason on as a medical assistant.

Faith "Red" NightStar, a Psy cardinal foreseer of the PsyClan NightStar, who can create hyper-realistic illusions, is mated to Vaughn D'Angelo, a jaguar changeling who sculpts ( Visions of Heat , 2). Skye had been Vaughn's baby sister. Tanique Gray is Faith's younger half-brother, a Ps-Psy Gradient-9 with a psychometric ability. Marine had been the half-sister Faith lost to a psychopath.

The pregnant Mercy Smith, a DarkRiver sentinel, is mated to Riley "The Wall" Kincaid, a SnowDancer senior lieutenant, ( Branded by Fire , 6). Bastien Smith, the DarkRiver financial shark and leopard changeling, who is mated to Kirby, a lynx changeling (Night Shift: "Secrets at Midnight", 12.5); Grey with his strong future in the pack; and, Sage are Mercy's brothers.

Kit is a baby cat alpha friend of Sienna's; Rina is his sister. Cory and Nico will be roaming soon. Jamie is a senior soldier whose day job is as a tech specializing in sound and holo-imaging at CTX; Desiree is another senior soldier. Anu has a two-year-old. Zach Quinn, a senior soldier, and his human mate and elementary schoolteacher, Annie Kildare, have an infant son, Rowan (Magical Christmas Cat: "Stroke of Enticement", 3.5). And Annie meets the man who saved her in that train wreck. Bryan is Zach's nephew.

Dorian Christensen, a Sentinel and sniper, is mated to Ashaya Aleine, a Psy scientist with a twin ( Hostage to Pleasure , 5). Keenan is their six-and-a-half-year-old (Dorian adopted him). His new teacher is Shonda. I love how the pack is about kids!! Ashaya's twin is Amara Aleine, also a Psy scientist, and a bit on the psychotic side.

SnowDancer is…
…a wolf changeling pack, neighbors to DarkRiver, led by Hawke who is mated to Sienna Walker, a cardinal with a Psy-X rating ( Kiss of Snow , 10). Judd Lauren is a former Arrow, a powerful telekinetic, and a SnowDancer lieutenant who is mated to Brenna Kincaid ( Caressed by Ice , 3). Judd is Marlee and Toby's uncle and Walker's brother. Walker Lauren is Psy and mated to Lara, one of their Healers. Marlee is his daughter, and he's an uncle to Toby and Sienna. Toby has a slight empathic gift and is Sienna's brother.

Lieutenant Indigo Riviere is mated to the pack tracker, Drew Kincaid ( Play of Passion , 9). Evie Riviere is Indigo's younger, submissive sister. Cooper is a lieutenant and mated to Grace (Wild Invitation: "Declaration of Courtship", 9.5). More lieutenants include Tomás, Jem, Matthias, and Alexei. Yuki is one of the pack lawyers, I think, and is mated to Elias. Heather and Dani take it too far.

SnowDancer lieutenants Kenji and Riaz Delgado (he's mated to Adria Morgan; Tangle of Need , 11) work most closely with BlackSea. Riaz and Adria have a daughter, Sakura.

Alice Eldridge is a brilliant human scientist who has been in forced cryonic suspension for over one hundred years and is still trying to adjust ( Tangle of Need , 11). Ben and Elodie (Ava and Spencer's son and daughter), Issy, and Behali are some of the cubs. Emmett is mated to Ria who is Lucas' executive administrative assistant, and they have a daughter, Mialin Corrina.

The Rat Pack are…
…based in San Franciscio and have an alliance with DarkRiver and do a lot of intelligence work. Teijan is their alpha ("A Conversation", 4.1). Zane is his nervous second-in-command. Aneca is one of their children.

BlackSea are…
…water changelings based in Lantia, an undersea city in the Atlantic, and led by Miane Levèque, their First. Malachai Rhys is her second-in-command. Cifica is the closest BlackWater city to Canada. Leila Savea is a marine biologist who was kidnapped. Persephone is still recovering from her kidnapping. Olivia is her mother. Cary had been her mate and Persephone's father. Costas is another child.

WindHaven are…
…Falcons, an avian flock, also allied with DarkRiver and SnowDancer.

RainFire are…
…a new pack of leopards with Remi as their alpha.

SkyElm is…
…an ocelot pack in southern Texas that lost 86 members overnight. Their situation provides a nice spot for including information without info-dumping it. Monroe Halliston is the alpha.

IceRock is…
…Kirby's lynx pack in Calgary, Canada. Kiya Teague is their alpha.

AzureSun is…
…in South America, I think, and is a leopard pack allied with DarkRiver and SnowDancer. Isabella Garcia is the alpha, the grandmother of a DarkRiver sentinel.

The Psy…
…evolved into psychically gifted people who see themselves as superior to everyone. There are a variety of Gifts at different levels with a cardinal being the highest. Es are empaths who had been lost until events in Shards of Hope .

Kaleb Krycheck, a dual cardinal: telekinetic and a teleporter, is mated to Sahara Kyriastos of the PsyClan NightStar, whose ability allows her to see the past and project what she sees into another person's mind with a secondary ability to change their mind, their memories ( Heart of Obsidian , 12). Lol, the sex is good…since the earth moves, *more laughter*

The Duncan family group is…
…led by Nikita Duncan, Sascha's formidable mother, a former Councilor, and a current member of the Ruling Coalition of the Psy. Reina Duncan had been Sascha's grandmother. Max Shannon is a former human cop and Nikita's chief of security; his wife, Sophia Russo, is an ex-Justice Psy who is comfortable going up against Nikita.

NightStar is…
…a PsyClan that specializes in finance with the family's base ability in foretelling. Anthony Kyriakus, the head of the Clan, is Sahara's uncle and Faith's father. Seems he and Nikita Duncan are developing…a thing. Leon Kyriakus is Sahara's father, who treats his scary son-in-law with paternal affection.

Mercant is…
…a powerful shadow PsyClan. Ena Mercant is the family matriarch. Silver is her heir and granddaughter and Kaleb's senior aide. She also coordinates the worldwide Emergency Response Network (EmNet).

Marshall is…
…another PsyClan led by Pax Marshall, a Gradient 9 telepath.

Liu family group is…
…led by Jen Liu.

The PsyNet is a psychic network that is both an "encyclopedia" of all Psy knowledge and links them, keeping them sane. Since Silence, it split into the NetMind which is both guardian and librarian of the PsyNet. And it has a DarkMind, a twisted, homicidal side. The Honeycomb is new, created by the Es, to keep the PsyNet from crumbling. Pure Psy had been a violent pro-Silence group. Silence was an experiment implemented in 1979 in stamping out the violent tendencies of Psy by eliminating all emotion.

The Arrow Squad is…
…a group of Psy with lethal abilities who are assassins and black ops soldiers whose home base is Venice; all Arrows are welcome. Aden Kai, a Gradient 4.3 telepath with a minor 3.2 M ability, and the mirror gift he unveiled, is their leader and hooked up with Zaira Neve, a Gradient 9.8 telepath, combat Psy, and a senior commander of the Arrows ( Shards of Hope ). Marjorie Kai and Naoshi Ayze are Aden's parents.

Vasic Duvnjak Zen, an Arrow missing his left arm, is second-in-command to Aden, and he and Ivy Jane, an E who heads up the Empathic Collective, are married ( Shield of Winter , 13) and live on a farm. Rabbit is their dog. Tavish is an Arrow child settled with Vasic and Ivy Jane. Grandfather is Zie Zen, Vasic's great-grandfather, a Tp, a telepath, and Psy elder. Gwen Jane is Ivy's mother.

Abbot is an Arrow who married Jaya, a Med-E whose specialization is helping people trapped in their minds, in comas. Stefan Berg lives on Alaris, an undersea base. Yuri is one of the senior Arrows who worry Aden. Carolina is a six-year-old Arrow-in-training.
"A single act of kindness can change a life." In both directions…
Father Xavier Perez, Kaleb and Judd's human ally, makes an appearance through an epistolary point-of-view as he hunts for his lost love, Nina. The blind Ani works from village to village, helping out.

Ming LeBon is a psychopathic cardinal, a combat telepath, ex-Councilor, and former leader of the Arrows. His area of influence is Europe. Santano Enrique had been another psychopathic Psy. And Kaleb's real father.

The Forgotten are…
…Psy who defected at the dawn of Silence. They evolved differently from the more "pure" Psy, and for the better. Devraj Santos is their leader; Katya Haas is his wife ( Blaze of Memory , 7). Their PsyNet is blazing with health. Glen is the doctor monitoring Dev's progress. Cruz and William are children.

Haven is…
…run by Clara Alvarez, an ex-Justice Psy. Her human husband, Patrick, is a respected prosecutor. Samuel Rain is a robotics and biofusion scientist absorbed in finding a workable prosthetic for Vasic.

The Human Alliance is…
…based in Venice. Bowen "Bo" Knight is the security chief and leader with a possible death sentence. Lily is his chosen sister. Isaac Beauclair owns Beauclair Trucking out of Vancouver, Canada. Jessie is his wife.

The Consortium is…
…intent on destabilizing the world and led by the Architect.

The Trinity Accord is an agreement between humans, psy, and changelings that was initiated by Aden. United Earth Federation. Maureen is a human neighbor. Death Mask is a mercenary group of four Psy and three changelings who took on the wrong job.

The Cover and Title
The cover looks like a star chart with astrology signs in blues and lilacs. A lilac fingerprint is in the right upper corner. A swirl of lilac looks like a tail on the center left side while a blueish panther is stalking out from the right. In the center a divided circle in blue with swirls emanating from a star constellation in the very center. The author's name (at the top) and title (at the bottom) are white with the series info at the bottom.

The title sums up the attitude of those Psy, humans, and changelings on the good side in an Allegiance of Honor.

Meet the gang because the boys are here! Yes words from an old cheesy song but somehow it kind of sums up this book as the author explores the connections between her characters . Bonds have formed in this amazing universe Ms Singh has dreamed up and there's been more than a little heartbreak and suffering along the way. With this addition we see just how far the Psy, Changeling and humans have come and yet vulnerabilities are always there with both old and new enemies ready to pounce!
Not the authors usual fare with romance centred around one couple but more of an ensemble piece allowing character development and showing the changes that are occurring , particularly amongst the Psy. There's hope and beginnings here with answers about the earlier life of Father Perez and how he became so involved with those seeking change amongst the Psy. Even the powerful Kaleb is outed but to say more of that would undoubtedly ruin the surprise .
Not just Psy connections though as the story is possibly dominated by the Changelings from the delightful pupcubs to the new younger generation . Yet the author manages to cunningly weave a little action and suspense in as maternal love is tested and those who wish to do harm start showing their true colours.
This author can write such heartbreaking scenes and with just a few words I'm always blown away by the emotion she pulls from me . Yet in spite of that at times I felt torn as just about everyone from previous books appeared with perhaps for me too many quick scenes of coupling if you get my drift. I want them happy , it's lovely to see favourites moving forward as part of this amazing community they've formed but I wanted a little more action. Yes there's a new powerful Psy introduced and the Trinity Accord is clearly under attack not to mention just what is going on in the Net? I'm just a tad confused about the interest in Lucas and Sasha's daughter because hey she's cute, she's a mixture of two races but she's not the first! The Forgotten seem to be , well forgotten and wasn't Lucas's great whatever grandmother a Psy? Although if its leverage I completely get it.
So this ends up being a feel good read that lets readers catch up. As usual I felt like I was part of the story and really knew these characters . Yes it sprawls about and is slow at times and possibly even too long but it's still far and away above so many other paranormal romance stories available but definitely not a standalone. This series is epic, this author so talented I'm in awe and I never want this journey to end

All Things Urban Fantasy

Where SHARDS OF HOPE concluded a major story arc in the Psy-Changling series, ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR starts a new one which manages to both introduce us to new characters, expanding this world even more and to show us small vignettes of the lives of our favorite characters from past books. I may have hesitations about an author throwing a whole new type of shifter society, a plot involving kidnapping and deadly experiments along with sociopolitical issues, with POVs from 10 or more characters. But after 14 books full of juicy plots and well developed and awesome characters, I had full confidence that Nalini Singh would deliver. I think it's because of the vibrancy of these characters and their interconnectedness that have evolved over the series that we don't really need a central character as the story flows from narrator to narrator without missing a beat. While I am an advocate of cavalierly jumping into the middle of a series over arching story lines be damned, I'd advise not starting the Psy-Changling series with this book.

ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR is almost like taking a breath before plunging into the unknown. This is a post revolution world where we are suddenly dealing with different factions and different political issues which makes for some interesting moments seeing characters stumble and try to find their way in this strange new world. There is also a large ecological message woven in here especially since BlackSea moves out of the shadows of the narrative. We got hints of the water-based shifters called BlackSea over the past few books and in this book they move more to the center of the story with one of their own being kidnapped. I liked how this story line developed which was a story full of tension and close calls for some of our favorite characters. I loved seeing more of BlackSea's world as they are a mysterious force in the previous books. One tiny issue I had is that I really don't know what they shift into exactly in the water. It's purposely vague but I am a visual person so I want to know exactly what they look like. Are they dolphin like? I would be ecstatic for a shark or manatee shifter!

ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR is a respite before the storm of a post-Silence world. We seen old friends, pick up some new ones, and get a glimpse of new problems to meet head on. There are some interesting plot threads left open in this story and I am especially excited to learn more about BlackSea. With all of these plot threads dangling, I am not to sure of where Nalini Singh will go in the next Psy-Changling book but I can bet that it will be a vibrant and emotional experience.

Allegiance of Honor (Psy/Changelings) - Nalini Singh

The Psy-Changeling world has undergone a staggering transformation and now stands at a crossroads. The Trinity Accord promises a new era of cooperation between disparate races and groups. It is a beacon of hope held together by many hands: Old enemies. New allies. Wary loners.

But a century of distrust and suspicion can’t be so easily forgotten and threatens to shatter Trinity from within at any moment. As rival members vie for dominance, chaos and evil gather in the shadows and a kidnapped woman’s cry for help washes up in San Francisco, while the Consortium turns its murderous gaze toward a child who is the embodiment of change, of love, of piercing hope: A child who is both Psy…and changeling.

To find the lost, protect the vulnerable—and save Trinity—no one can stand alone.

This is a time of loyalty across divisions, of bonds woven into the heart and the soul,

of heroes known and unknown standing back to back and holding the line.

But is an allegiance of honor even possible with traitors lurking in their midst?

My Review:
I'm really happy with how this book turned out. My favorite kind of read is the reunion story that brings together old favorites for cameos and catch ups which is great this far into the series because you can loose touch with the characters and cast over time when a series gets as far along as this one has.

Although there isn't that big of an actual story line we get a lot of who's doing what and what's gone on in a few of our favs lives since we last saw them.
I always favor this kind of book because its nice to see that even this long after the author has closed the page on the story that the characters don't just disappear.

I think a lot of people will really love this book but I also think many who have been in on the series from the start might not favor it as much especially if they already know a lot of the back story due to already knowing a lot of what takes place from the previous books, so any new readers to Nalinis books this is a good way to catch up on the cast and start at the beginning.

Regardless of the fact that many people don't like to rehash events or details I'm the kind of person who does like them. Be aware those of you who don't that there are plenty of both in Allegiance of Honor so be ready for a download.

In my opinion Allegiance of Honor was a really great read.

There is a reason that Nalini Singh is my favourite author, she consistently writes amazing book after amazing book and she is the absolute queen of world building and creating fantastic characters. It's not often you get to book 15 in a series and find that the author has once again managed to give you something fresh and new but that is exactly what she has done with Allegiance of Honour. This book is a tribute to all the previous couples we've met and fallen in love with and all the side characters whose stories we're still desperately waiting for. It ties together a lot of little loose ends hanging around after the fall of Silence and at the same time it also kicks off the beginning of a brand new story arc.

If you've ever read Nalini's newsletter you'll know she loves to include little short stories and snippets giving us glimpses into some of her characters after they have their happily ever after. Well imagine a whole glorious book that gives you a chance to spend time with everyone again. This is an ensemble cast where no one couple takes centre stage for the whole story (although I think little Naya and the pupcubs steal more than their share the spotlight but more on them later!) but instead we get to see where they're all at in their lives right now. If it was any other author I might have been nervous about an ensemble cast but I have absolute faith in Nalini and she pulled it off more wonderfully than I ever could have imagined.

Not only does she give us a glimpse into couples from 14 other books (as well as several novellas and short stories) but she weaves in several new stories for them all to get involved in. One story in particular allows us to get to know certain members of BlackSea a little better and that helps build trust between all the different groups that are currently working together - DarkRiver, SnowDancer, Psy like Kaleb, Anthony & Nikita, the Arrows and the Empaths, the Human Alliance, the Forgotten, the Rats and Rainfire. I'm sure I've probably forgotten some but all of these groups have their own role to play in a desperate rescue attempt for one of the lost BlackSea changelings.

Naya is one of the stars of this book, she is the first child born to one Psy and one Changeling parent and nobody knows what kind of abilities she's going to have but she is definitely seen as a symbol of hope for all those who believe in the fall of Silence. Of course that makes her a major target for those who aren't happy about the recent changes. She's not an easy target to get at though and she has a huge family around to protect her. Naya is about 1 year old now and she is so utterly adorable in this book that she made my heart melt. There is also a lot of excitement around the impending arrival of Mercy and Riley's pupcubs. It was so much fun seeing all the adults talking about the pubcubs and placing bets on how many there would be along with the sexes and animal forms. I think Judd's guess amused me the most just because he'd put so much thought into it:

Judd had placed a two-and-two bet. Word was the pupcubs' changeling animal would be linked to the dominance of each respective parent, and Judd wasn’t about to bet against either Mercy or Riley. They were the most evenly matched dominant changeling pairing he’d ever seen.

I'm not going to tell you whether he was anywhere close to correct in his guess though, you won't get a word out of me! All I'll say is they're finally here and they're absolutely adorable!

Allegiance of Honour was everything I didn't know I wanted. If I had to put it into one word it could only be PERFECT. If you were worried that this series might be coming to an end let me assure you that we have so many exciting things still to come and I for one can't wait to get my hands on the next book. In the meantime I'm going to pick up my copy of Slave to Sensation and start reading the series again from the beginning because this book has reminded me just how much I adore all of the previous characters.

I came really close to taking off work on the release day of Allegiance of Honor so I can stay home and read the book. However, I decided to be a responsible adult and go to work, though I did leave early to stop at my local Barnes and Noble and pick up the copy that I had on hold. Then I went home and devoured the book. My sister, who also reads the Psy-Changeling series, periodically poked her head in my room and told me to read faster. She usually reads the books after I finish them and she wanted to know how many pup-cubs! To prepare for this release, I’ve been listening to some Psy-Changeling audio-books on my commute to work and rereading some old favorites. That being said, after finishing this book, I’m determined to go back and reread the two books I usually skip over, Blaze of Memory and Bonds of Justice. Sophie and Max and Katya and Dev play a role in this book.

When I read my reviews, I think if I’d recommend this book to my friends who read romance novels. In this case, I would specify that I would tell any friend who has read the series to read this book. While any of the other Psy-Changeling books can be read as stand-alone, the full impact of this book would be dulled if you weren’t already familiar with the characters. If I had to pick a main couple for this book, and the couple I enjoyed the most, it would have to be Lucas and Sascha. I loved catching up with them and seeing how their life has changed three years after their book. Their daughter, Naya, is now a year old and we got to witness her first shift! Sascha and Lucas are both faced with trying to keep their daughter safe without putting limitations on her. For Sascha, it is accepting that her daughter is a cat and with that comes a feline curiosity and agility, which can be terrifying for a protective mother. Lucas, on the other hand, is less concerned about Naya’s agility but rather her overall safety as outside forces threaten Naya. The subplot running through the book centers on external threats to Naya as the first Psy-Changeling child born since Silence. This subplot connects to the new mysterious villain and arc of the series: the Architect and the Consortium. My sister and I have a myriad of theories about who the Architect is. After being oblivious to the identity of the Ghost in the previous books, we are determined to figure out who the Architect is in this new story arc.

What is amazing about this book is Nalini Singh’s ability to revisit old characters without stagnating the plot. I was a little concerned that this book was going to be a “where are they now?” book but the underlyingly plot was gripping and made the story flow. It was great to see how seamlessly the individual couples are linked in the stunning world Nalini Singh created. With a series as long as this one, it is easy for the books to become tiring and the story arcs dragged out; Nalini Singh did an excellent job of flowing from one story arc to a new one in a way that seems organic to the Psy-Changeling universe. This book was everything I wanted and more. My only complaint is that I have to wait til August for the next anthology and then until next year for the next full-length Psy-Changeling book!

Let me start of by saying that I’m decidedly biased when it comes to this series because it has become my favourite pnr series in the last few years and one of my all time fav book is heart of obsidian. Now that’s out of the way. I’m going to try and keep this as much as non-spoilery as I can with some hints etc and I’m sorry but this is going to waffly because I have too many emotions which I’ll try not to get in the way of reviewing but *shrugs*.

Some people don’t like ensemble books (Hey no judgment) ….me on the other hand if its a series I enjoy, I gobble them up like the Lindt dark chocolate I’m so fond of. They are kind of like those episodes where we have a bunch of superheroes together/all star team ups (which I also happen to love) for a moment of time, where theres plot but mostly it just a way for fans to enjoy seeing their favourites from different shows together. The book of course has a plot and elements/set up of things to come in the series.

It is very different to the other book not just because it doesn’t focus on one couples journey into love/mate bond but because it also had a lot more going on, more plot, more characters because this is the 15th book in the series and we have not only the couples of those books but from the novellas as well as the other major players and packs in the P/C world. It is also different because the last 5 books had a lot of action/battles in them so this book is slightly calmer but no less interesting. Most of the plot involves around the kidnapping a child that is precious to everyone who comes in contact with her and women who was being tortured yet refused to give up.

The main focus at least to me was on DarkRiver and the alpha and his mate because Lucas and Sascha were the ones who set off the dominos that lead the current situation of the world in the series. But we do catch up to loads of other characters/couples we love including the Psys, the forgotten. SnowDancers and the birth of pupcubs which we have been waiting for quite some time now. Also some of the domestic life of couples was explored which I always adore reading because yes they got their HEA and what about their life after?

The book made me feel so many emotions happiness at the adorable little being that Naya is and seeing some of the lesser mentioned couples/characters, tiny bit freaked out about the PsyNet and their situation, anger at the consortium, sad about the Leila the woman who was kidnapped, hatred towards Ming, more teary happiness due to how happy regardless of the current circumstances Judd, Kaleb, Vasic, Aden, Xavier and the other arrows were who got their HEA after so long of being trapped in a hopeless world and very excited about what is to come next in the series. I’m extremely glad that we have an anthology coming in a few months time to tie me over till next year.

I also loved the more detailed information of the Ps-Psy and the other changeling packs and the glimpses of the changing dynamic between the three different species.

It is the end of the first ARC or series 1 in terms of TV so a lot of time of the book was spend closing any little bits of left over stories and introducing newer ones. Some of the tiny cliffhangers left over and the newer threads open we learn about are very much a threat to the happiness we see of the characters and the couples. I’m very excited to see where we go from here.

Quibbles: As I said earlier that to me the focus was DarkRiver so my only issue was while I love the Leopards I wish we could have had a bit more of SnowDancer’s because I’m very greedy. And as always because I love Sahara and Kaleb so I selfishly wanted more of them but since them and the arrows were a lot more present in the last three books it balances but not even this affect my enjoyment of the book.

Other than that, the writing was as always beautiful, the plot intriguing, the characters complex and multifaceted and the couples little moments of happiness made me happy. It was kind of like saying goodbye and saying hello to some new characters/packs/players in the P/C world and I enjoyed every moment of it.

P.S Maybe I’ll update this review after rereading or a few days after which is more coherent but right now I’m just in a bubble of happiness. And gosh this is very long, I’ll stop now.

ARC was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest opinion.

Because I am completely enamored of this series, I got this book blurb unread. So I had no idea who the central couple was going to be. Turns out... there is no couple. Or rather, if there is a central couple it would be Lucas and Sasha again with a little nod given to Father Xavier and his long missing Nina. In other words, this isn't what I would call a PNR installment of the series, this is straight on urban fantasy. I think that anyone who reads for a central couple and an HEA will be a little upset with this and feel a bit rudderless. But since the Psy-Changeling world is as much, if not (I would argue) more interesting sometimes than the individual romances, I am kinda in love with this installment.

It moves the central story of what is going on in the world overall -- the continuing effects of the fall of silence, the rise of new power grabbers in a power vacuum, the noticing of new menaces -- forward. It also plays catch up on all the ..what? 14 or so couples... we've seen through their romances. Seriously, I think pretty much everyone who's ever had a speaking part in any of the previous books gets at least a walk on. Even the dead ones -- hello Enrique!

We also get a check-in on all of the differing relationships that have grown between the various Psy, Changeling and Human players. And speaking of humans, this book starts to address the mostly invisible race amongst the three. Frankly humans have been almost a nonentity in this series. They don't have Psy powers and can't change into an animal so they aren't very exciting I guess. But they are the biggest population of the three and if you are gonna build such a complex world, they do have to be addressed. So this book starts taking bolder steps toward that direction. Sure we've seen the Human Alliance but they've been mostly background. But Alice is awakened and between her knowledge and some other revelations it feels like the importance of the human race is coming to light. Especially for the survival of the Psy.

So great installment. Really intrigued where the series plans to go from here

Considering ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR is a compilation book, I feel I should start with talking about my experience with the series. I’m a huge fan of Nalini’s Archangel books, but just hadn’t read her even more popular Psy-Changling series. A few months ago I gave it a try and fell in love. I read the first few books back to back, reading them as fast as I could. And then life intervened and I wound up setting the series aside. That all changed a few weeks ago when I decided to pick up the next book in the series, and I was a goner. I wound up devouring all the many many books in this series back to back, winding up with very little sleep over a two week period because I just couldn’t stop reading them. If I wasn’t working or taking care of my family, I was turning the pages in these books as fast as I could, sleep be darned. There’s just something about this incredible world and cast of characters that is so alluring. Each book built upon the last and while you did get that coveted HEA at the end of each book, and move onto the next couple in each book, you never really say goodbye to any of the couples. Everything is so entwined in this series and I love. Granted there were a few books/couples I enjoyed less in this series as they just didn’t quite jive for me, but the overall series and the previous couple focuses intertwined into each book kept me more than sucked in even during the few times where I wasn’t fully in love with the current couple in focus.

Getting back to ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR, even with reading almost the entire series back to back you lose somewhat “sight” of some of the previous couples, so this refresher and catch up with all the characters was utterly fantastic. It brought the series even more of a cohesive feel and I loved every moment of it. And not only do we catch up with almost the entire cast thus far, but there’s a larger overarching plotline as well. Honestly when I saw that this was going to be a compilation book, I had thought we’d just bounce from couple to couple with an update on “where they are now” with no real tie in or arching storyline, almost as in an anthology. But this book couldn’t be further from that, with the plot having just as much focus as all the check ins with favorite characters. It truly was a stellar read that I loved.

Without a doubt, ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR is an absolute must, must, MUST read for fans of the series. It is 100% wish fulfillment and I cannot express just how much I loved this book. I’m so very glad the series isn’t ending here and I can’t wait to see the next chapter this incredible series brings.

This was such a nice catch up for the series - I had a great time revisiting with some of my favorite couples from the past and meeting their kids, cubs and pups (and pupcubs)! I'm having a hard time focusing my review because so much was going on (in a good way). We didn't follow any specific couple in this installment but instead got to spend a little time with all of them.

The Trinity Accord is still in its infancy and the three groups (Humans, Changelings and Psy) are working hard to shore up the fragile bonds. The Consortium is working in contravention of the Trinity Accord, trying to sabotage it at every turn. I am dying to know who the "Architect" of the Consortium is. I can't tell if the clue we got in this book was genuine or a sneaky misdirection, but I love the way Nalini gives us time with the villain so we can see how he works and thinks. The main plot of the Consortium in this story is to obtain possession/control of Naya Hunter... the first ever Psy-Changeling child, daughter of Lucas and Sascha Hunter. Naya is a symbol of this newly integrated society Trinity is working toward, so people are always going to target her. With Naya as a target, Lucas and Sascha featured prominently in this book. They are such a power couple with their own protective instincts when it comes to their daughter.

Now, I am not a kid person at all... so its very surprising to me that some of my favorite characters of this series are the children! Nalini writes wonderful children. They are all so precocious and cute and endearing and mischievous. Naya, just a year old, is no exception. I particularly loved when she was a chatterbox, and when shifted into her leopard form. The twin leopard cubs, Julian and Roman, continued to be curious imps. Psy children, Marlee and Ben, are growing up! And I can't forget the pupcubs - Riley and Mercy are bringing the first ever leopard/wolf litter into the changeling world.

The mysterious water changelings continued to play a big part in this installment. The water changelings are getting help from the Trinity to locate and rescue another of their abducted packmates, Leila. I am very intrigued by the water changelings, particularly Malachai. I hope he gets a book because I can't wait to find out what kind of water changeling he is. I almost wonder if they can take multiple forms, wouldn't that be handy?!?

We got the backstory of Xavier and Nina in an interesting way in this installment... letters that Father Xavier wrote to Nina were interspersed throughout the book. They were the only "new" pairing in this story... but I felt sufficient time was spent on their story to satisfy my curiosity about the couple. Though spending time with all the past characters/couples made me want to go back and re-read certain books in the series... particularly Dorian's and Dev's. I am also curious what couples we will see paired up next. I have a feeling Bo, leader of the Human Alliance, will get his own book. I am definitely looking forward to the continuation of this story arc.

I received an advanced copy of this book from Berkley Publishing in exchange for an honest review. 4.5 stars / 2 flames. Full review posted at Bambi Unbridled.

Allegiance of Honor is yet another amazing read in Nalini’s Psy-Changeling series but it isn’t what you would expect and that’s a good thing. Allegiance of Honor has action, adventure, subterfuge, and of course a little steam, but what it doesn’t have that we’ve come to expect from books in the psy-changeling series, is a single epic love story between a primary hero and heroine. Instead, in Allegiance of Honor, we get to come full circle and see how characters we’ve fallen in love with over the years have grown and progressed in their lives while getting a little bit of something new in the form of Xavier and his Nina. I really loved how this book gave us peaks in to characters who I hope we see much more of in the future. We see a lot more BlackSea in this installment and I’m eager to get a story about our deep water changelings.

I loved that I got to see Kaleb as well, who has been a favorite character of mine since he was first introduced in to the series, and I loved seeing Sashca and Lucas again and actually being in their heads rather than just seeing mention of them. Allegiance of Honor reminds me of the way Archangel’s Shadow from Nalini’s Archangel series, is written. You still get a new story, but you get to go back and see those characters you met in earlier books. It reminds you of why you loved them all in the first place. I wouldn’t recommend reading Allegiance of Honor as the first book, if you’re not familiar with the series, only because I don’t believe you’d be as invested in the characters, but it is a terrific book. If you love Nalini’s Psy-Changeling world, you are sure to love Allegiance of Honor.

This is the beginning of a new way of life in the Psy-Changling world. The different races are trying to move forward with the Trinity Accord but there are people who want it to fail and they won't stop trying to make that happen.
One of my favorite things about this books was the mix of the old and the new. Our favorite people from the SnowDancer and DarkRiver packs are all in the book as well as significant Psy familes. There are also new packs like the water people from BlackSea. One of the sea dwellers, Leila, is the focus of a major story arc in this book which brings the packs together.
The interpack marriage and upcoming birth of the pupcubs to Mercy and Riley is a big part of the book and gives the opportunity to touch on most of the familiar characters we have met before. I loved reading the scenes of pack life and the mixing of the wolves, leopards, humans, Psy and Arrows.
It's a tough world though for Lucas as he tries to balance his pack responsibilities and the Trinity Accord. Ming LeBon is up to his old tricks trying to get his power foothold back. And the anti-peace group, the Consortium, makes a lot of trouble for everyone especially Lucas and Sascha.
Ms. Singh does a great job of revisiting the old and blending the new into the next chapter of the Psy-Changeling story. It isn't stale and doesn't feel like a recap. The new characters are mixed in so well that it isn't jarring. She also weaves the happy revisit with the suspense perfectly. And....the pupcubs...so exciting! I can't wait to see what happens next.

Allegiance of Honor is Nalini Singh's 15th book in her Psy-Changeling series. This series is one of my favorites and one that is always worth a re-read. Allegiance of Honor made my inner fan girl squeal and roll around with delight.

Allegiance of Honor truly was a unique installment into the Psy-Changeline series. Historically each book has been over one couple with an ongoing backstory that carries over into each. Allegiance of Honor was like taking a stroll through the currently Psy-Changeling world and getting to made periodic stops to gather inside information on a variety of established characters. It was brilliantly executed and sure to be a fan favorite.

My heart was warmed so many times during my time spent reading Allegiance of Honor. Seeing connections being made and some gaps being filled is a remarkable fete to accomplish in a world this ginormous and Singh did it wonderfully.

I do feel like this was kind of the end or new beginning. Depending on how you want to look at it. Yes, there is still some disruption in the Net, but that seems to be on the uphill side. Not everything is glorious is their world, but a new big-bad has emerged and I feel like this book was a defining fork in the road. Will Singh have the ability to keep up the awesome after this shift of conflict? I don't know, but I cannot wait to find out!

I rate Allegiance of Honor 4.5 out of 5 Bullets.

This was a great addition to the series! This story wasn't about a new couple but is more an overview of what's going on with the people in the series and some of the current issues that are taking place as they try to get the Trinity accords (an alliance between psy, changlings and humans) off the ground and functioning. Even though there wasn't a main couple to be the focus to the storyline, I thought Singh did a great job with story and kept things interesting enough that I didn't want to stop until the end.

There are actually a few smaller storylines that give us some meat to chew on while the series storyline is built up for the next books. Lucas and Sascha have a 1 year old baby named Nia and she's the first ever psy/changling baby. Some people that want the races to remain separate (a group called the consortium) try to kidnap her. Another issue is that a Blackwater (water-based) shifter is missing and all 3 races end up taking part in the search for her. Also, we find out more about Father Xavier and how he met up with Judd and Kaleb and we get to see him on a search for his lost love. That's just a bit of what's going on, there's more and it's all blended into a cohesive and engaging story.

I greatly enjoyed this story and was sorry to see it end. All I can say is that I love this series and this story just makes me look forward to seeing what else Ms. Singh has in store for us. I'd recommend this story and highly recommend the whole series! :D

* note - I listened to the audio version of this and the narrator did a great job.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Nalini Singh's Psy/ Changeling series is just epic and just when I think the series can't get any better Nalini Singh out does herself again. Allegiance of Honor is the 15th book in Nalini Singh's Psy/ Changeling Series and while each book can be read as a standalone I recommend reading them in order because of all the connections and the overall series story.

If you're a fan of this series you're in for a treat because Allegiance of Honor doesn't feature just one couple. It features all your favorite couples. Questions are answered and new questions are formed. It feels like both closure and a new beginning because the series is going in a new direction. The series is so intricate and unique and has all these little details that make Nalini Singh's paranormal world unlike any other. I want to start at the beginning again and do a binge read! I just love this series!

I recommend this series for paranormal lovers looking for a new addiction. If you're new to the series I'd suggest starting at the beginning. Just grab them all and settle in for a great binge read. You won't be able to put them down.

I’ve loved the Psy-Changeling series from the very first book and I do have my favorites. I like that I can pick up any of the books and become immersed all over again.

Allegiance of Honor was cleverly done. Ms. Singh has taken threads from fourteen books and woven them together into a story that is sensational and enchanting. It’s heartwarming to read about these characters I have come to love and a little sad at times. I was on the edge of my seat and my emotions where all over the place.

We get to revisit old favorites, go deeper into the BlackSea changelings, learn more about father Xavier (loved how this was done), and get a feel for the hops and dreams of all the different races (Psy, Changeling, Humans, The Forgotten.) We also get answers to many questions.

Allegiance of Honor is the changing of the guard. While one story arc ends a new one is made to move us forward. It was all masterfully done, had my emotions in turmoil, and it’s a roller-coaster ride unlike anything previously seen in this series!

Many interesting things happens in Allegiance of Honor. It’s phenomenal, sweet, and emotional. Fans will not want to miss out.

I love the Psy/Changelings series. I have read them all and eagerly await each new release.

This book is different then the others in the series in that it really brings together so many of the characters we have grown to love over the years. As they work together to defeat their enemies, we get to see how strong the ties have grown among these diverse characters. There is no focus on one couple unlike the earlier books in the series.

While there is great danger out there, you feel great faith in the characters and hope for the future. They have worked so hard to create a world that would be safe for humans, changelings and the Psy. The benefits of their partnerships have resulted in so much good. Their enemies are focused on wanting power.

I often smile as I see my favorite characters so in love. Many of them now have children and there is so much hope for the future generation. Love has changed so many of them and brought them the peace they were missing.

The author does a wonderful job of moving back and forth among the characters and juggling many storylines. You definitely need to have read the other books in the series to really enjoy this book. It is a book that rewards the loyal followers of the series. Those new to the characters would be quite confused and not have the same level of investment in the characters.

I loved this book!!!! Allegiance of Honor was not at all what I expected from Ms. Singh. Normally, we have a new budding romance. Allegiance of Honor doesn’t have that but it has so much more. We get to catch up many of the couples we have grown to love. I personally love all the Judd (he is my all time favorite) time. It was great to see the kids growing. To see Naya finally shift. To get to see how much Dark River and Snow Dance have truly become a family. To get to finally find out what the Pupcubs are going to be!!!
Some people are going not like this book because of all the facts I just named. There was not a lot of new action in Allegiance of Honor, but it laid the foundation for another major change that is going to be coming to the world.
As I said, I loved this story. Love this whole series!!!! And I can not wait for the next installment in this series.
As always I let the amazingly talented Angela Dawe read this story to me. I love that she is so beyond talented with the range of voices she is able to produce. When you combine a great storyteller with an excellent narrator you get amazing results!!!!

While I like the Psy-Changeling books and the world the author has created this book was not the best of the series. It is basically a catchup of "Where are they now" of all the couples the author has written about. This is more slice of life and the day to day working life, problem solving type of book. It is rather frustrating as some of the couples were not my favorite. The wolf Alpha Hawke and his mate Sienna. This is total blah couple, non interesting and their story "Kiss of Snow" I wanted my money back. I really have a "who cares" attitude about this couple and even in this book they are still uninteresting. Their characters are not fleshed out at all. It was fun to revisit the other characters as you feel as if you really know them and the author has used them effectively in other novels. This book also had two other subplots, the kidnapped Black Sea person and the Father Xavier, the third member of the group that were effective in going against the Psy council and finally helping to "Break Silence". This book would have been better if the kidnap story was stronger. Father Xavier's tale was good as the secondary plot and decently fleshed out. But I really wanted to know more about the kidnapped girl and her feelings and how she handled her trauma. The revealing of how Black Sea and how they operate and a look into their Alpha and her companion Malichi were interesting.

I haven’t enjoyed a book this much in a long time. To be fair, though, this not your average Psy-Changeling book. It’s not a romance. It’s more like a dozen romances, all reveling in their own versions of Happily Ever After. It’s a reunion. It’s a celebration. An ending and a beginning. And maybe that won’t be what every reader wants. But for me, this book won on every level. I cried. I laughed out loud. I basked in a thousand feels and I ended the story completely satisfied.

There are so many things going on here. After all, this is the culmination of the story arc that started with book one. We revisit every character. We tie almost every thread. It’s a task that could have been overly ambitious or scattered, but Nalini Singh is such a master of her craft that it all just… fit.

Someone is targeting Lucas and Sasha’s daughter, which is one of two threats that pull the changeling community together. The other is the search for one of the missing water changelings. We’ve got that going on, the advent of the pupcub delivery, problems in the PsyNet. Births. Deaths. Reunions. And so much love.

This is definitely not a book for new readers. But fans will love spending quality time with all the core couples like Lucas and Sasha, Hawke and Sienna, Kaleb and Sahara; the list goes on. Even the couples from the novellas get page time, and it all just fits together like pieces of a puzzle. A beautiful, colorful puzzle. And lest you think this is one giant epilogue, I promise, there is a real story here, one that leads the way into the next arc of the series.

Now all I need is some quality time with Anthony and Nikita. I can’t explain WHY I need it. I just do. #pleaseandthankyou

Having read all of Nalini Singh's Psy/Changling books this one was especially satisfying. Singh wrote about many past characters and allow the reader to see what is happening and how life has changed for so many favorites. At the same time she introduced new ones which lead to expanding the entire story line and had this reader wondering where her next book will go.

However this was not just a book of reminiscing but set the ominous tone of who and what the dreaded Consortium are and laid the ground work on their nefarious plans to destroy the fragile peace of the new alliance of Psy, Changlings and humans. Will we learn who the malevolent "Architect" is in Singh's next book? Is the hint dropped near the end be letting us know who this person is or is it part the Consortium misdirection?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The writing was great as usual, the story flowed flawlessly and I was keep completely enthralled. It is no easy task to touch so many stories and keep the book moving and interesting. Singh does it like the pro she is and it was a delight to read. Great job and I am so looking forward to the next phrase of the Psy/Changling world as promised in the introduction.

Thoughts: From the moment I started reading this series I've been in love with it. So much so that every year I re-read the entire series. Its also the series I turn to the most when I need a comfort read, or am struggling in my depression.

As this story arc has progressed I've loved some stories and simply liked others. So seeing every single one of the couples was awesome and full of all the feels. There is a lot going on (way to much to break down in a review) as the world changes and the fall of Silence is complete. The events that take place in this book impact every single person from the past stories allowing us to catch up and reconnect. Some more than others.

Of all the different couples we get to see Riley and Mercy and the birth of their pupcubs was my favorite...especially with the way that Hawke and Lucas reacted. No wait there was the scene with Sasha and her mother. No wait...okay there were a lot of awesome moments.

The ending of the book was probably one of my absolute favorites though.

If you're a fan of this series then you won't want to miss this book.

I will probably be the minority on this but I hated how the recap of past characters was told. I love books that do recaps on past characters but I want it told from their point of view. In this story almost all recaps were from Lucas and Sasha's point of view. I don't care what Lucas and Sasha thought about each couple. It was annoying! The only thorough recap we got was about them and considering they're in every book it was pointless. I'm sorry but they're not a favorite couple of mine and felt like I was seriously mislead.
The story itself was boring and took me days to get through. Not even the antics of the kids or the birth of the pupcubs could save it. As sorry as I am to say it I have about given up on this series.

Allegiance of Honor (Psy-Changeling, #15) by Nalini Singh is a Paranormal Romance Suspense. Ms. Singh is actually one of my favorite authors and her Psy-Changeling my 2nd favorite series of hers. This one was a bit of a disappointment though.
I didn't like;
#1. These are usually Adult Romances. This one was more Young Adult.
#2. The suspense quality that she normally has in these just wasn't there.
#3. To many separate scenarios of way to many couples to follow. Each from previous books had more than one scene. So the story wasn't about any one couple, but ALL of them. Which means the romantic anticipation factor was low.
I did like;
#1. I did enjoy the letters to Nina. I enjoyed learning where everyone stood in their relationships.
#2 There is a mystery as to who The Architect is, and the problems with the Consortium. It just didn't go far enough.
#3. The scene where someone is trying to kidnap Naya.
I wasn't sure if I should make this a 3 or 4 star, but when I factor in the flow of the story and the writing itself, I had to go with a 4.

E-arc received to give an honest review. My total admiration of Nalini Singh had no standing on my personal feelings for the book. I can't really write too much without making this into a spoiler review and I have those types of reviews so this is not going to be a long review.

When I started Allegiance I went in knowing that it was going to be multiple P.O.V. I also knew it was going to be a complete Psy/Changeling novel, no short stories. What I did not know was that Ms. Singh was going to pack this book to the brim with all the characters that we have come to know and love. Now I won't lie all the switching gave me a headache, until I realized that is she still running the same plotline throughout all the different points of view. She also does an amazing job of running the plot line while catching us up on everything that is happening with the various couples. I found myself eagerly awaiting the next pov switch - who would give me the next piece of information and character update. I truly believe though that the best parts and also the most informative were the letters that were sprinkled throughout the entire book, but didn't take anything away from the bottom storyline, because Singh made sure everything connected - everything. We finally get some back story on the human that was best friends with two very dangerously powerful Psy.

There was never a dull moment in the book, there was also a lot happening but that just underlined one very important thing that I think brought the whole purpose of the book to the forefront... The Psy, the Changeling and the humans were working together to get to a place were they could coexist without issues. Yes, there was your usual suspects that were firmly against the unification of the races, but the love, respect and pure stubbornness that our good guys possess was enough to eclipse all the hate. The title of the book pretty much sums it up with no issues ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR. These races gave their allegiance to one another nothing and no one is going to take that a way from them. Their honor will not let them back down or turn a blind eye to the happenings in the world because it all affects them in some way shape or form. They are united and they refuse to go back to what they were. Sascha I think said it a best... "I believe in us... All of us. I believe we'll find a way out of the darkness. The consortium won't won-and in beating it, we'll forge bonds no one will be able to break." She had it right, except for one thing. The bonds are already forged, they just have to reinforce them with hardened steel wrapped in love, understanding and acceptance.

Allegiance Of Honor is the book that gave us all hope that things would be great, that the races could survive with help from one another. Allegiance is the book that put it all in prospective for them all and gave off one simple statement from our many hero's (even if some don't think they are) in my opinion - YOU ARE EITHER WITH US OR AGAINST US AND WE DON'T PLAN ON LOSING.

I loved reading this book, there was closure for most of the individual stories and the collective. I liked that not everything was perfect....nothing ever rarely is! There was room for more but no cliffhanger ending. The story was mostly uplifting and i felt happy at the end of it. There was enough action so as the book did not get boring. The romance was perfect and it wasn't all about the sex and the humor was sometimes laugh out load. I loved the fact that the ideals of this book was about different people being able to trust and get on together. It was about family, not just blood family but the bonds between different people who are accepted for who and what they are. It was not always perfect but most of the characters were willing to try and mostly succeeding. (If only real life was like this!) If you have read the series to date then i strongly recommend you read this "final" book, it is wonderful and i thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

I loved every part of this book, so very happy for the glimpses of many favorite characters from older books. I was absolutely delighted to learn that Jesse got her man after all, a special little bonus from Nalini from a long ago book that I always wondered about. "Allegiance of Honor" was such a tresure, it goes in my keep forever pile and I know I will be reading it again. To anyone like me who loves the Psy-Changeling world...you will adore this story. Mere words cannot express how much I enjoyed this book. I usually dislike compilation or assemble books because they are pointless and offer nothing to the series, but not in the case of Nalini Singh. This book definitely had a purpose as well as being riveting. She introduce new characters, new avenues of the story, we visited favorite characters, said goodbye to other favorites, and entered a new arc of the series. All of this was done was such detail, development, and story flow that it made this book a masterpiece!!! Ever element tied into the overall series that it was fun discovering all the hidden gems and their connections!! I cannot wait for all that is to come from Nalini in this series!

I fluctuated between 2 and 3 stars for this one. Several of the previous reviewers said it well, but I'll try in my words. First, I love Nalini Singh's books, and have read them all, including her early series romances. I will continue to read her books. But, this one did not do it for me. The backstory of the kidnapping and the mysterious Architect did not hook me, so there really was no story line to hold the book together. Every couple we revisit is happy, joyous, expectant, bonded, looking forward, smexing, protective...you could just substitute the names. It's like a bunch of novellas or short stories about every main character (and some not-primary characters) interwoven.

So, if you want to catch up with every Psy-changeling character in the book series, this is the book for you. A couple of plot questions are answered (pupcubs at last), and a few more questions raised to be answered in future books.

Seriously, amazing. Flawless writing, fabulous stories. It was seriously a treat to get to read about everyone who you love and more, from characters at the very beginning of the series to the most recent and everyone in between! I loved finding out about the pubcubs, that alone was delightful! I really loved this one, I am really excited to see where my favorite series goes next. I absolutely loved everything Hawke and Lucas mainly Hawke, as everyone know by know is my fav book boyfriend! I love that we see everyone grow and the new plots and twist are brilliant. Hel yes! To water changelings, I mean how freaking awesome! So overall experience is 6++++ stars I took my time and read this everyday for word for word and I can't wait to re read it again. Yet another awesome book to an epic series! #angdown

Allegiance of Honor by Nalini Singh is the 15th book in her fantastic Psy/Changeling series. Nalini Singh is a master at world-building; storyline continuation that flows in each book seamlessly; with great characters, exciting story and her couples are always great, not to mention a steamy romance. Nalini Singh has become my favorite author, where I wait impatiently for her next book.

Nalini Singh has given us a gift in Allegiance of Honor, which more or less ends this fabulous arc. She gives us an ensemble book that is a keeper, as we get to spend time with all of our favorites from the previous books; which also opens the door for the next arc.

In all of the Psy/Changeling books, there is always a leading couple that we come to love and furthers the ongoing story line. In the last book we saw the end of Silence, and in this book there is no one couple, as we learn about some existing problems revolving around PsyNet; about the Consortium which threatens to destroy the new peace with Trinity and another group of changelings desperately trying to save their people. We get it all in Allegiance of Honor, which was masterfully written, with some closures, as well as new problems, giving us a peek at the future. Nalini continues to wow us with her unbelievable world-building, which no one can match.

It is hard to write a review about this book, as Nalini was doing what she does best, continuing this world building and giving us happiness with each and every couple. We got to enjoy the pupcubs, and our new little darling, Naya, who will be something to reckon with when she grows up.

Those new to the series I suggest you not start with this book, it will be so worth the wait to start from the beginning and get the full effect of Psy/Changeling. Allegiance of Honor would be somewhat confusing for a newbie, as I feel it is for those who have read this entire series, which started with Lucas & Sascha, as the complex Psy/Changeling world building began; the wonderful couples we met along the way that we never want to let go; from the Leopards to the Wolves to the Arrows that worked together to bring down Silence. We get to see more of the Black Sea changelings, which I suspect will play a big role in the next arc.

I will not say too much more, other than to say how much I loved loved this series. These characters are best I have ever read; Lucas, Sascha, Hawke, Sienna, Judd, Brenna, Mercy, Riley, Dorian, Clay, Faith, Walker, Kaleb, Sahara, Vasic, Ivy, Aden, Zaira, Nikita, just to name a few. Despite the end of this arc, it is not the end of Psy/Changeling; we will be getting to see some of our favorites along the way with the new changelings.

Thank you, Nalini Singh for this fantastic series, your wonderful characters, unbelievable world building and your steamy beautiful romances. It was a fascinating, captivating roller coaster of a ride. I will follow you to the next arc (and your Guild Hunter series), and I know it will be wonderful. For those of you who have not read this series, once again, you are missing the adventure of your life, which is not to be missed. Start with Slave to Sensation and fall in love with Nalini Singh.

I see all these reviews complaining about how this story is just a rehash of all the stories she’s already written with a kidnapping thrown in that really has no substance at the very beginning she tells you that’s what it is if anyone would take the time to read it she’s moving on to the next arc this was just about bringing everyone together to go forward into the future kinda like Christine Feehan did with dark celebration I for one like revisiting the other players to find out what is going on with everyone I’m the kinda reader that likes books to continue a storyline I know I’ll continue to be a big supporter of this series as it transitions to the future

I didn't read this one for a long time after going through some of the reviews. Now that I have read it, I agree totally with those reviews which said that this was one long catch up with the 700 odd characters we've seen in all the other books of the series, and that overall it was too mushy. Too many strong, soldiers and warriors had their hearts ' going boom/ melting/ hurting/ thunking.....' from love and happiness. Too many cute baby moments. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret reading it, the book does have a purpose it tying up some loose ends, laying the foundation for some others and preparing for a new arc. It's just that I was left with a feeling that something was missing. I am looking forward to Silver Silence, which I hope will be as kick ass as all of Nalini Singh's books are.

I have read and own every book in the series and have read them multiple times. Having said all that it was extremely hard to follow the story with the endless parade of characters. Even knowing who's who it was hard to follow along. Jumping from pack to pack and storyline to storyline made the book a hard read. The story does not flow like most of Nalini Singh books usually do. I would never recommend it to someone who hasn't read at least the majority of the books in the series. It was just ok for me.

I loved this book which transitions us from the first arc of this series to the next. It was great to have all the characters in one book with just enough information about them to allow me to remember their story without having to re-read the previous 14 books. Yes, I have read each of them multiple times but to have them all in one book meant I could review the interactions among all of them in one place. This book also wraps up some story lines like the pupcubs, the kidnapping of a BlackSea member and starts up new ones including some of the plans of the Consortium. It also gives us more in-depth information about Sascha and Nikita's realationship, the reason for Nikita's actions and if can Sascha hurt someone to protect her daughter.

The mark of a really excellent author is keeping her readers engaged with stories which always continue to delight and enchant with each addition to a series. Nalini Singh proves once again her talent and skill in writing just such a book as Allegiance of Honor which is truly an epic achievement. It’s difficult not to use superlatives such as amazing, exciting, heartwarming, and awesome without sounding like a flattering fangirl, but this book is truly a wonderful accomplishment that should immensely please fans of the Psy-Changeling series. Skillfully woven together into a perfect whole, Allegiance of Honor has an ensemble cast. It’s comprised of chapters featuring most of the major characters from the previous books and focused around navigating this brave new world since Silence has fallen and the nascent group Trinity Accord composed of Psy, Changelings, and Humans who are struggling to hold the world together and shape a new future for the races. I would have to say an overarching theme of this book is family and reminds me of the phrase, “and a little child shall lead them” because much of this book centers on children, especially those of the Changelings who would do anything, even to the extent of sacrificing themselves, to protect their young. And because not everyone is happy with the new world order, there are dark forces working to extinguish the fragile new alliance between the races. The Consortium seeks to destroy and control by hitting at the heart of the alliance: those who are most precious and vulnerable.

This book of many parts is interwoven together so seamlessly that it makes one large story with many facets. It is a story that is a true treasure trove for readers of this series. I feel Nalini Singh must have had a lot of fun writing this book because it brings so many of her wonderful characters into one big party. The Trinity Accord is a huge learning curve for races who have traditionally drawn strict lines between themselves, some of whom were enemies, and now have become allies, especially Lucas and Hawke. These Alphas may have to go against their very natures in order for their packs to survive and thrive in the rapidly changing world which is no small thing. Humans, who have struggled for a long time to have their voices heard and not be overwhelmed by the powerful Psy and Changelings, are fighting for their place as well. The Psy are still reeling from the huge changes to the Net and the continued problems with the parts that are failing. The Arrows most especially have had a vast paradigm shift to deal with while Aden continues to lead the way to a previously unimagined way of life for his extended soldier family.

Some important storylines come to fruition which adds even more pleasure particularly for readers interested in the pupcubs. As the synopsis states, the members of the Accord are trying to make sure they have their own power. When it’s discovered a member of Black Sea, who as a group are perhaps the ultimate Changeling loners, has been kidnapped, each faction takes tentative steps in their new and delicate working relationship to rescue her.

The book has tremendous heart that really touched me in unexpected places so don’t be surprised if you shed a few tears. Allegiance of Honor is above all a celebration of life, and the bonds of families whether they are created by birth, blood, or association. The individual parts come together in a beautiful tapestry woven of the very best of the beings in this world, but also in that same fabric are the dark and evil parts of those who would harm innocents in order to control and once again subjugate all the races. What the Changelings, Psy and Human groups know that evil does not understand is in the end, love triumphs and will always outshine the dark.

Our review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Reckless Reaper - Shawnie:
*eARC received to give an honest review.

Allegiance of Honor is a true treat for Psy-Changeling fans. Throughout the series, author Nalini Singh has woven together a number of intricately connected relationships that create the fabric of the Psy-Changeling world. Here, in the fifteenth full-length outing, those connections come to the forefront as Ms. Singh ties up the first story arc of the series in a spectacular fashion.

Silence has fallen, and in its wake the Trinity Accord has been signed, offering hope of a world where human, Psy, and changeling can be united. The ambitious agreement is still in its beginning stages, and there are those who would seek to break the fragile peace, both for reasons of profit and prejudice. A symbol of the changing world – Naya Hunter, the first Psy-changeling child born since Silence took effect – is in danger. Lucas and Sasha, who started readers’ journeys into this phenomenal world in Slave to Sensation, will do anything to protect their daughter, and they’re not alone. And while DarkRiver, SnowDancer, and their allies work to protect Naya, news of a kidnapped water changeling reaches them, igniting a hunt that will inspire cooperation across all three races. The threat to Naya and the kidnapped changeling aren’t the only two plot threads in Allegiance of Honor, and it’s a testament to Ms. Singh’s skill that every single thread of this story weaves in seamlessly with the others. I can’t say much about the plots without spoiling the joy of unpacking each element to the tale on your own. Suffice it to say the story as a whole is exciting, impossible to put down, and is a true payoff for fans of the series because it brings in everything we know about the world and the characters we love.

There is no central couple in Allegiance of Honor. Instead, readers get to look into the lives of all the past Psy-Changeling heroes and heroines (from both novels and novellas) and a few non-hero/heroine series power players. I absolutely loved revisiting everyone, seeing what happens after happily ever after, and generally reveling in spending extra time with the characters who have grabbed my heart over the years. Individually and as a group, the Psy, changelings, and humans we’ve come to know and love bring moments of bright humor, sweetness, sadness, and joy. What this story also does is make me appreciate how many connections have developed over the course of the series. Like the love stories, the connections between characters – some prominent in the series, and even one or two I’d long forgotten about – are allowed to shine. While Ms. Singh does a great job of putting enough information in so that you remember each character’s story and how they relate to other characters, Allegiance of Honor is not the book to start with if you’re new to the series. You’re missing out on the emotional impact of the book (not to mention the fabulousness that is the rest of the series) if you dive in with this story.

Amid the excitement of the fight to make a better world and the lurking danger of those who would destroy that world, Allegiance of Honor is a story of hope. Whether it’s the sensual sweetness of the couples who have found happiness, the love between blood and chosen families, or the dedication to making the world a place all three races can survive and thrive in, hope will always outshine the darkness in this book. There’s no way you can read Allegiance of Honor and not have your emotions touched. Even though Ms. Singh has perfectly wrapped up the first arc of the Psy-Changeling series, there is so much more of the gorgeous world she has created that we have yet to explore fully and so many possibilities as to what is coming. I cannot wait to see where Ms. Singh takes readers next!

This book does an absolutely amazing job of answering many of the most frequently asked questions many of the readers of this series probably had been wondering about. Examples; Xavier and his quest, the number, sex, and species of the pupcubs Mercy carries, and last but definitely not least the Consortium. I will not state the answers in this review as not to spoil another's enjoyment. I will state that I had a very difficult time putting this book down to do other things. I was so engrossed that I even forgot to go to sleep, until forced, the last two days. This book is a must read, especially if you are fan of this series, Ms. Singh, or of the paranormal genre. I cannot state firmly enough that this book is an extremely great read. I want to thank Ms. Singh for her exceptional writing and storytelling. I loved the book.

I loved this book! Nalini doesn't disappoint, and Allegiance of Honour tied up the loose ends from the first story arc, as Nalini puts it, while easing into the second story arc very smoothly and nicely. It's a cameo book with appearances from all your favourite characters, and we get to see a lot of Naya in this book, too. And, yes, we get to finally find out how many pupcubs Mercy and Riley are having, plus their sexes, plus, which animal they will turn into when they shift! Overall, this was a very sweet book, not fast-paced, but I liked it that way. It's one of those books that's not too full-on and that you can re-read many times in between other books/series.

I loved this book. I am so glad Ms. Singh gave us a peek at how all the characters are doing. It is refreshing to see an author with a long running series to continually have a good story. It is so often lately that authors just write the same mess over and over again and expect readers to just put up with it and pay good money for the same story again and again. Ms. Singh has not done that!!! I loved how she said in the beginning of the book that this is what she sees as the season finally before the start of the second season that the next book will be.

Different book by Nalini Singh, this time there's not a central couple but there are new developments in the general plot, that keep on being the best part, as far as I'm concerned.
We have all together the wolf, the leopard, the sea changeling, the rats, the Psy and the Humans ready for a new turn of event in this great world invented by the author. Plus father Xavier and his Happy Ending. Looking forward to the next book in this series!

This book was not written in the author's usual format as a previous reviewer stated - no new romance - and it was a slower pace than we're used to from this writter. This didn't really matter. It was a bit like a chinese banquet with lots of dishes you slowly pick at all night, and then at the end, you suddenly realise you're stuffed full. Was it exciting? Yes it was - in bits. Were there her usual gems of pure poetry that flash through every now then? Yep there was. Sensuality? Again yep there was. Brilliant characterisation? That would be a Hell yeah! BUT it was all in little snippets and the pace was slow almost leisurely. Then you get to the end and realise there are no loose ends left. All the people and plots have nicely tied up and the strands for a bunch of new ones set up. There you are full as a gook and happy about it and dying to see what will happen in the next Nalini Singh burst of brilliance!

Very disappointed with this book. Everything by this author usually grabs my attention and I'm totally captivated by the marvelous world and characters within of her creation. Not so this time. Just a long ramble where nothing much of anything happens. I finished the book but feel as though it's merely a long worded prelude to a new series. A lot of re-introduction to characters in past books and references to potential issues in the future. Ho-hum.

I love this series. I enjoyed this book but it is obviosly setting the scene for the next level. The author was very specific about her objective, and I enjoyed checking in on many familiar characters - the problem was the plot (s) were a little thin and I was a little disappointed in that. I will, however, look forward to the next installment. I hope it doesn't take too long!

This book is about revisiting all the main characters of previous book and setting the stage for the new series. It was nice to revisit the characters from previous books: however, the details were a bit too drawn out. And I get it, everyone loves the cubs and pups and each other, lol. There was a mini story; however, not enough to justify a book.

I'm disappointed! Not that it was a bad book, it's just that nothing happened. This was just 15 hours of sweet cute epilogue-like scenes for all the 14 couples in the novels and the few from novellas. There were lots and lots of cute babies ,talk of babies ,pregnancy planing and news.
At least there's a novella coming in August.

This book accomplish it purposes since it was meant to give us a briefing about the life of everyone, and to close a "chapter" on the storylines of the saga, as a fan who thinks that Nalini is one of the best, and as somebody who suffers a breakdown every time that finished a new book from this series, it would be pretty hard to wait for the next one.

All I can say is that she did it again, I'm right now in a state that I wish I can trade my life for the life of one of those characters in a heartbeat, or a least go to live in that reality.

I love this author and series. I've read every book and loved them. But you know when you get the sense that the author has run out of steam? This is the book where there doesn't seem to be anything but catching up with every character. All of them. In little ways. Does not progress the overall story arc. First disappointing book in the series.

An inbetween book with no new romances. Instead, we get to visit all the favourites from the previous books and see what's going on in their lives. Everyone's happy, and while it's nice, it makes for a somewhat dull book. There are enough sad and happy moments though that kept me reading, and a new villain emerges that promises an exciting new storyline in the upcoming books. And, of course, the pupcubs.

I love Nalini Singh and have enjoyed her psy-changeling series. It was lovely to be immersed in the world again and have all of the loose ends be nicely tied up in the end of the story ark. I did miss one dominant love story, however. I love it when each book is a stand alone romance that moves the entire story along, and I really would have liked to have everything tied up with another love story.

LOVED THIS STORY. I wasn't sure I would when I read the introduction about this being a transition book between one arc and another. Never fear. Nalini did a masterful job of interweaving the lives of many characters from previous books. She made me believe that transitions and interlocking packs etc really could make a new world. When I reached the part about Zie Zen's death I had tears in my eyes. A first for me. Keep it up Nalini, you just get better and better.

The Trinity Accord and its drafters need to work together to stand up to the threat of the group organized for greed from all races and ranged against them.

This is a good catch up book that gives you small glimpses at most, if not all of your favorite couples and brings the over arching plotline forward.

A very satisfying read.

Nalini Singh couldn't write a bad book even if she tried. In this book there is no major love/ hate connection between the characters. We do get to the k in with all the characters we already love and see how life is treating them. We get to see how the Trinity Accord is going too.

Holy cow, she is such a brilliant author.
The book was as she intended, touching base again with all the wonderful characters throughout the series, reflection of all that's happen and where things stand - BUT at the same time moving the plot along. It's not static and just glimpse of everyone being happy. It is more and well worth the read.

The world Nalini has created is amazing and after 15 books is does not falter, it is evolving and the storyline remains strong as ever.

I loved this one; we experience the conclusion of one story arc and the beginning of another. The change is smooth as the new story builds on the fall of Silence and what will be in the future. We were treated to visiting all previous characters that we have grown to love and then meeting some new ones that I hope will be part of new stories.

It is a time for celebration on many levels. Pupcubs are on their way as Mercy and Riley are ready to become parents. Several groups are celebrating the fall of Silence including most changelings, Psy and the Forgotten however there is a growing group of people that are fighting the change, they feel that the groups should stay separate and that Silence should still be the way of life for Psy. There is trouble brewing and those that are happy with the new life are bracing for a fight.

The focus of the story centers on the Changelings and how their lives are altering. The SnowDancers pack and the DarkRiver pack are intermingled, they still have their own Alphas but many of the pack members have intermarried and so they work together to form a strong foundation. It is fun to see everyone again and watch the next generation thrive, I love Sascha and Lucas’ little girl, Naya who is seen as a symbol of hope. There is some drama with a BlackSea changeling who is missing and the packs work together with the water changelings, trying desperately to find her before it is too late. I enjoyed getting to know a little about new characters and new mysterious packs that hopefully we will see in the future.

This is definitely a transition book, moving us from a completed story arc to new ones and I am excited to see what happens. There is not a lot of action but there is some suspense as several plots are being developed, so the pace is slower, however it does not take away from the story. This is the 15th book in the series and it could be a good starting point for anyone that has not read her past books, she recaps past relationships and catches everyone up as she starts a new storyline. However I highly recommend this series, each story is amazing and Ms. Singh writes such engaging characters and interesting plots that you can’t go wrong. Truly a great addition to the series and I can’t wait for more.

This is the only book of Nalini's that I have yet to love. I can't even say that I liked it. I had to force myself to finish it. It did not have the excitement that her other books are know for. I had the opportunity to review an early copy of ALLEGIANCE OF HONOR. I have read past Psy/Changeling books and I’ve enjoyed them, but they’ve never fully enthralled me like the author’s Guild Hunter series has.

I haven’t read the last several books in the series, but the story does have many of my favorite characters, including Lucas, Sascha, Naya and the rest of the DarkRiver Leopards, the Arrows, Hawke and the SnowDancer Wolves, several other changeling packs, and a bunch more characters I’ve just recently met! The book doesn’t center around one hero/heroine but has many interconnecting storylines. It can be difficult to incorporate so many characters into one book but I think Ms. Singh handled it beautifully!

I was lost in some areas and that’s because, as mentioned above, I haven’t read all the previous books (which I definitely recommend doing), but I was able to find my footing without too much confusion. Whether or not I was previously introduced to a character, never affected the powerful words and entertaining scenes in the book.

What I loved most about the book was the romance! So much love and it was entertaining to experience so many happily ever afters in one book! There’s one storyline that pulled at my heartstrings and that was of the human priest Xavier Perez. His struggles with his faith and his feelings for his one true love just...wow. So powerful.

If you love exciting, entertaining, spectacular world building with complex plots, relatable characters and witty dialogue, you’ll find it all in a Nalini Singh novel. I highly recommend this and every book by the author!

Ms Singh. You made me cry. Yes it felt like closing the door to the first 14 books but it also leads to hopefully another 14+ books. I had tears down my face reading about ZZ, Mercy and Rileys pupcubs and also a baby being named after Kaleb (middle name). Glad my husband wasnt around to take the mickey for me crying over a book. Also glad to learn Sacha's mother isnt completely heartless. Will definitely be re-reading this book. A little disappointed that Xavier and Nina only got a few percent of this book BUT it was still a good read.

When Nalini Singh says this book is an end-cap to "Season 1" of Psy/Changeling, she's not lying. Allegiance of Honor deftly culminates the storylines and characters from the fourteen previous books. There's a bit more focus on Lucas and Sascha which I found apt due to the fact that they are the couple that started it all in Slave to Sensation. In Shards of Hope our rag tag groups of Psy / Changlings / Humans began to run into conflict with a group called The Consortium. After having been thwarted in their plans in Shards, The Consortium goes underground to regroup.

The Consortium pops up again in Allegiance, but I felt like it was more of a "hello, we're still here and ready to cause trouble" type of thing. Showing that things are not settled as of yet, and I'm assuming this group will be one of the main causes of conflict for "Season 2" of the series. I kind of kept waiting for the other shoe to drop (so to speak) in regards to something big and bad happening, but it doesn't come (at least not to the scale we've seen in previous books).

Mostly, Allegiance is about the characters we've come to love throughout this series. Each couple gets some page time (some more than others) throughout the story. At times I felt like we were catching up with old friends. Finding out where they've been and where they're going. Nalini Singh ties up some of the more secondary threads (cough*pupcubs*cough) that have been going on for quite a while.

I personally enjoyed the more sedate pacing, the more day-to-day type of domestic tasks we see throughout the story. I honestly love revisiting the characters. It makes me want to go back and start from the beginning. It's an observation that's made quite frequently in this book, that the reason these characters are in their respective places (the reason that many of these events have come to pass) can boil down to an Alpha Changeling and a Psy mating (for the most part of course). Which is why I think it was apropos that Sascha and Lucas are featured so heavily here.

It was nice to almost have a breather, of sorts, before Nalini Singh dives right into another big story arc. It's clear where things are set-up to progress in the world overall. I'm just looking forward to having some of the most recently introduced characters (such as BlackSea) hopefully get their own stories told, or we may see some of the now-grownup characters finally get their own books as well. Allegiance really makes you understand how big this world that Nalini Singh created is.

I think anyone who is a Psy/Changeling fan will love Allegiance of Honor.

This is a time of loyalty across divisions, of bonds woven into the heart and the soul, of heroes known and unknown standing back to back and holding the line. But is an allegiance of honor even possible with traitors lurking in their midst?

Review:

This book felt like old home week.

Where all the people you know are together and put into one story. Most of her books are in an arc but with just one couple getting their HEA. This book I think had everyone in it and seemed to be wrapping up story-lines, which seems to be the Authors purpose. It got a little confusing and chaotic and I would think if you had not read any other of the stories, this might keep you from reading more. I love the series and was a little overwhelmed by the story and all the people in it. Honestly, there is so much going on in this story that to cover everything would make this review 10 pages long and I am not doing that...

As always the writing was excellent and the Author really does grab you and make you care about what is happening to these characters. I did really like the different individual story threads, for me though having them all in one book was too hectic.

4Stars

Also, no reflection on the Author but $13.99 is too much for an e-book

For shame on you reviewers who wrote such naysaying reviews. Nalini Singh has written a wonderfully clever story bringing an end to the first arc of her Psy/Changley world. She showed how a single act, whether now or in the past can affect many people. How else would you have closed one story to open a new chapter? We have new people and problems to be learned. BRAVO Ms Singh!
