I love this series because the next book is better than the previous one. The development of the characters keep the interest of the reader and never disappointed with the information learned about them. I can't wait for the next book to see how Christian and Ravens relationship will grow closer .

I really did not like this book. It did not even feel like the same characters as the previous books. The circumstances put forth by the author with her creators was just not good. I found this painful to read because it became predictable once she had been captured. I did a LOT of skimming. I also did not like the increased amount of time spent on supporting characters. Not sure I will bother with the next book. This book did nothing to advance the story for 70% of the book.

All I can say is FINALLLLLYYYY. Man I've been waiting for that one scene for foreverrr! I liked the story, the one component was frustrating but it worked out in the end for me. Ready for the next book. Stat

This installment of the series felt rushed and unfinished. It's definitely not the same caliber as the first three books. The author must have run out of ideas since essentially a rerun of several important elements from earlier books in the series. Two stars because the ending had merit but I was sadly disappointed since this was the series by Ms. Dark that I was the most fond of. On another note I'm growing a bit tired of the amount of violence perpetrated against women in the author's books. I get that this is the way the world is constructed but the plots appear to unbalanced in this respect - they almost go to far. I'm not a prude by any means but Ms. Dark does seem to like to put her female characters in horrific situations - repeatedly. The heroines never seem fully empowered and more often than not require rescue. Raven has basically been 'raped' in every way imaginable during the course of this series. What's worse is that she makes excuses for the protagonist and protects him. I was looking forward to watch Raven grow smarter and stronger but in this book she seems to have taken quite a few steps backward. Not sure if I will read future installments.

I like these books for many reasons. While i love a good romance, these books are more about the journey through life then just about two people falling in love. I like the action and relationship between friends just as much as people hooking up.

Loved the book, just wish it had been longer. We get the details of Ravens creation, and what helped shape her into The Shadow. The book has an unexpected twist that puts a strain on Ravens relationship with Christian. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next book.

Could not put it down! Love the characters in this book. Only thing I dislike is having to wait for the next book to be released .I'm not very patient . I can't wait to read it! ! Another addictive best seller by Dannika Dark!

I love the characters and seeing how they grow as a team. The story has it all, suspense, anger, betrayal, friendship, and growing love. Keeps me turning the page for more! Can't wait for the next book.

If you like Dannika Dark and have read the other Crossbreed series then you’ll probably like Gaslight. However, I will say the obstacles in the love story are getting a little redundant and kind of annoying.

I have read all of the series so far and this is keeping up with the standards of the seven series and the Magerie series. I like this author and her books I would recomendthem to anyone interested in this genre.

Dannika Dark has done it again!! Yet another book that kept me captivated the entire time. I went through such a range of emotions! I LOVE the depth she gives her characters. I feel like I'm actually getting to know people in my life! Thank you for another amazing book!!

The Good: This book tells us all of Raven's backstory, and some of it is very ugly. One of my most favorite things about this book was the amount of Easter Eggs it was filled with, either resolving or placing for the future. I definitely had to stay up through out the night to finish this book. Nap, reread, then go on to reread the entire Crossbreed Series all over again to find all the tie ins!

What's bad is what is also referred to by some of the other reviews and that is that this book comes across as somewhat of a patch it all together book. I saw the tie from one conflict into the other but it didn't flow as smoothly as Dark's other books have.

That being said this book definitly has lead ins to the future...and that is looking ugly! Especially since I'm not the most patient person in the world. I fear for Christian in the next book, and Keystone. I see the writing on the wall and all the enemies are aligning against them. Chaos wants his Raven free to fly and not with Christian...he's insane...

This series is wonderful and I'm a little sad to say this book is the least interesting thus far. Raven becomes a boring puppet for most of it and everything the author has set up regarding her main relationship with Christian is swept under the rug. By the time they finally got together in this book I had trouble caring. I also think the changes in POV, via chapters, is annoying as not much information is given from the other characters. No issues are resolved, they just report on how they're intermittently feeling. This particular book felt like a filler in the series and I'm really hoping the next one finds it way back to what Ms. Dark does best...character relationships. She has a gift for making her readers care about her cast and in this particular book I feel she fell short of the mark.

This was one BAD book, hinting at several more BAD books for the series. And I mean bad in every way possible for a story. If all of her books had been like this, I wouldn't have even finished the first one, much less buy more.

Only a really great ending saved this from being a one star review. The first three quarters of this novel was painfully difficult to read. I gave up after the first few chapters and left it for a couple of weeks. I went back again and still found it boring. Only the ending and especially the very last page made this worth the effort.

I will preface this review by saying that I have fallen for this series, the mageri series and the seven series. However, this book was a very short read with little satisfaction. The characters and plots were erratic and appeared to serve only the purpose of future books. Spoiler....Christian and Raven finally get down. But Shepard's son is breezed over. Niko, Gem, Viktor and Blue (characters that I have adored in this series) are intermittently placed in this trite and frustrating storyline.

I will try the next book in hopes that this one book was an aberration

I have liked the other books in this series but was excited for this one because I thought we were FINALLY going to get some romance in this "paranormal romance." The romance has been lacking after 3 books but instead we got a little romance and a lot of frustration. Raven has endured tragedy and torture and come out kick ass. Why this author decided that she should once again be tortured by BOTH her maker and creator is beyond me. This book is just her getting beat up and kidnapped practically the whole way through. No Raven standing up for herself and finally getting some justice, no romance, no being the tough chick she was. This book reduced her to a puppet of her vampire maker whom can apparently manipulate her and she can't defend herself which is unsatisfying and frankly kind of boring. I find it frustrating that she gets retraumatized and then defends her maker when in all the other books she has been intelligent enough to figure out when someone is screwing with her. But not in this book. And the whole scrubbing her memory to forget Christian almost ruined this for me all together. We have waited all this time just to have it all washed away! How unfulfilling! I am not sure I am even interested anymore after this ridiculous plot twist. The whole Chaos/Houdini character is not interesting! Its annoying!

Raven’s research into an open vampire trafficking case reveals a sinister Breed underworld that she is all too familiar with; catapulting, Raven into enemies from her past.

Delving deep into the dark underbelly of the Breed world made for some spectacular reading. Dannika Dark reveals a lot more insight into the world Raven has found herself thrust into.

Relationships are going to be tested, some will grow stronger and then some leave us unsure of the outcome.

Christian’s character has proven to be what we all saw glimpses of in past Dark’s novels, that alone made for some swoon worthy moments.

A must read for any Dannika Dark or urban fantasy fan, Gaslight was a 5 star read for me.

I received this ARC copy of Gaslight from Enchantress Design & Promo. This is my honest and voluntary review. Gaslight is set for publication Feb. 20, 2018.

Book #4 and I am so hooked on this group of characters! Fantastic world building. Fans from her other series are familiar with the world but new readers will be easily swept up in the action. this book continues Raven and Christian's partnership within Keystone and opens up the possibility of a whole new set of bad guys.

Filled with action, a bit of blood, a burgeoning love and dare I say --- a bit of romance from Christian?? *gasp* Even he is surprised that he is bypassing his love 'em and leave 'em ways for the feisty Raven. I have a feeling the story is only going to get better from here.

Once again, this is a serial story. There is no "ending" or HEA per se. You do need to read in order and then just stick around, because more good things are coming. Great characters, great suspense element. Loved it!

This book! This book wrecked me for all other books. I cannot think of anything other than Raven and Christian and Keystone. The thought of picking up another book today doesn’t even appeal to me.

There is so much going on that there is not one moment of down time. In Gaslight we meet some new players and some old enemies. But my favorite part of this book was the different views we get into these amazing and complex characters. These different angles provide an even deeper love of these characters and makes walking away unbearable.

Gaslight had me laughing or cry or swooning or ready to jump through the screen and fight the battles with Raven and crew. I was put through the wringer, but you won’t find any complaints here. The further into the book I got, the closer to the end, the more I was angry that my journey was almost to an end, or to a “to be continued.”

How much did I love this book? As soon as it was live, I was hunting down my book friends who have read the series, gifted them a copy and book bullied them into starting this book ASAP! You all MUST read it.

Is it too early for a re-read?

Once again Dannika Dark has written a truly amazing novel in this series! This series gets better and better with each book and if I could give more than 5 stars I would!!
There is so much emotion in this book..we really get to see more about Raven and her past, a past that is devastating and destroying. Raven is truly a mesmerising MC and she has so much strength to get through what is in the book. But through it all we see so much more of Christian and how he feels for Raven. There are so many moments in this book when Christian just captivates the reader and you really get that understanding of how deeply he feels for Raven.
This book is full of drama, destruction, love and friendship. A really enjoyable sidenoyr to the book are the multiple POV, and not only from Christian but also from the other members of the team. There is s really strong supporting cast in this series which I hope we keep learning more and more about! This is a highly recommended series! Cannot wait for book 5.

Raven likes sifting through unsolved Breed cases and she stumbles upon some information that has the group looking for a vampire trafficker. These despicable individuals turn young men and women into vampires and sell them. Not since the Megeri series has Dark share such a dark storyline. Christine and Raven are undercover when Raven unexpectedly disappears. From that point on, my heart was racing as I felt the tension building. The places Dark took this storyline and the things she revealed to us about Raven kept me listening.

We witness the members of Keystone coming together to fight for one of their own. I love the different members, personalities, and abilities of this motley crew. While tensions were high as they raced against a ticking clock, we were also given Raven’s story as it was unfolding. I usually like to perform mundane tasks while listening, but that was not the case with Gaslight. I sat at attention like a Meerkat listening for a potential threat. And just when I thought we’ve won let’s go kick some arse, Dark pulled the rug out from under us and we were turning more dark corners and witnessing unspeakable things before we finally got to kick some arse. Dark put me back together again and wrapped up some threads but she did leave some strings for us to follow.

I think what made this and the storyline so incredibly nervewracking and addictive is the characters. Raven reminds me a little of Mercedes Thompson from the series by the same name. All kick-ass on the outside and a little gooey on the inside. Raven has been broken time and time again, but she never gives up and somehow still manages to see the good in others. I’ve known Christian Poe since the Mangeri series and adore this snarky, sexy, candy-loving vampire. He is tested in Gaslight and I felt his desperation and pain.

If you haven’t tried Dannika Dark, the Crossbreed series is a great place to start. I recommend them on audio. Nicole Poole narrates and I could not imagine any of these characters without her voice. In fact, she narrates all of Dark’s series. Go grab your earbuds and check them out.

This was a strange read for me. I found myself feeling so sorry for Raven then annoyed with her & then I didn't like her very much!!! I don't know how that's possible in one book by this awesome Author & about one of my favourite characters ? But I'm trying to be honest & I thought Raven quite cold at times & I didn't like it!!!

There is a HUGE reveal regarding the owner of the box with the key inside. I knew it would be important but I never suspected what happened in a million years!! Raven gets messed up physically, mentally & emotionally in this book & I didn't like it one bit ??

The Storyline centres around Raven's lead into the Vampire/Human Trafficking of Younglings. She'd noticed the same spelling mistake in multiple places & placed her own advert as bait which had panned out. She was hoping to get 'chosen' as a human that wants to become a new vampire & they'd then capture who ever tried to take her & follow the trail from there. Unfortunately for Raven things don't go to plan even with Christian as her back up!!!

This book has left me in a dilemma. It was well written, amazing characters, great plot, fantastic twists etc etc but I personally hated what it did to Raven & in turn to the possibility of her & Christian. They were on the verge of something wonderful & it's been defiled & I hate that!! I was fine with the snail pace of their romance but this will take some deft writing to set right or more heartbreakingly, it'll be the end of them!!

Interestingly, I think we saw Nico showing a possible interest in Gem ? He seems more than just friendly concerned regarding her & her dating life!! Blue & Victor seem to show a possessiveness towards each other that grows incrementally in each book. I also can't wait to find out more about Kira & her story, what Breed she is (Phoenix?), especially why she needs Keystone's protection & what is going on between her & Shepherd??

I really hope Fletcher & Houdini are captured & brought to Justice in Book 5. I'd love it if they somehow manage to hugely implicate, with evidence of course, Patrick Bane so Shepherd's son can be freed ??

Though I'm only giving Gaslight 3.5 stars due to my issues with the plot, I really can't wait for the next book. You know you can't go wrong with Dannika Dark's (this is the 1st time I've been disappointed by a plot!!) work, it's excellent!! I still recommend this book as its just me that's upset with what happened I'm sure.

Gaslight is the 4th book in the Crossbreed series and is my favorite book in the series (so far). I didn’t think it was possible but Christian Poe was even more sexier in this book.

My thoughts

• In Gaslight Raven and the gang are on a mission to stop Vampire trafficking. But their plan backfires, leading Raven to danger. I don’t want to spoil the story, but I thought Gaslight was amazing! This book was suspenseful and had me so worried about the fate of these characters, whom I’ve grown to love. With the subplots and alternating POV we learn more about each character, and we see their vulnerabilities and their past heartbreaks. I loved that the author added a lot of twists that had me anxiously reading on.
• As much as I love Raven I was becoming frustrated with her. Her pride is sabotaging her happiness. She also thinks she is not worthy of having happiness because of her role as a vigilante. I was disappointed the author took this direction. Raven has gone through so much, as a human and as a half-breed, but she overcame the tragedy and was strong and fights to help those in need. It is always good to see characters vulnerable, as it makes them relatable. But I was disappointed in seeing Raven kind of whinny and lose hope in her future.
• Christian Poe is more than meets the eye! He completely surprised me and had me swooning. I loved seeing the tenderness, passion and love for Raven.
• Author Dannika Dark has become one of my favorite paranormal authors. I discovered her with this series and now I need to catch up on all her books. I love her creativity and how she builds up the excitement in each book.
• Narrator Nicole Pool does another excellent performance. In Gaslight the characters are put to the test, so Nicole added excitement, suspense, anger, despair and passion to the story. I love how she brings this series to life.

I highly recommend this series to paranormal fans. This series has the perfect combination of action, suspense, romance and humor. I can’t wait for the next book!

This book broke me in so many ways. I don't think I could articulate how much I loved and despised this book. This was one of those books where I thought I could see a plot twist coming, but in reality, I was just scratching the surface and what would eventually come to be was much more devious than my imagination could come up with. The author did a fantastic job on this novel (and this series)! Her writing and story building keep getting better with every book.

When I finally thought that Raven had concurred all the evils in her world and could possibly look forward to being happy in Keystone with Christian this book happened. Towards the end, it felt like Raven reverted back to her old self and I'm not sure how I feel about that when she seems as bloodthirsty as ever. When the ultimate plot twist happened (around 4 hours to the end of the audiobook), I was sure things were going to fall apart and I hated every single minute of it.

Christian proved his love so many times in this novel. He was so understanding when things were so bleak. Even though it could have possibly been Raven's decision (the memory plot twist), he was still willing to stay by her side and help her in any way he could. For almost every scene involving Christian after that, I could feel a little piece of my heart breaking off.

The secondary characters in this novel/series felt just as real and developed as the main characters. I would love to have even more of a glimpse into their lives. It looks like Shepard's and Niko's stories are slowly being introduced. I hope Shepard's story gets resolved in the next book so I can at least get some closure.

Though this novel ended with a faint light at the end of the metaphorical tunnel, we were left with too many questions and not enough answers. I'd also like to mention that this novel would have been even better appreciated (detail wise) had I been reading this series back to back. The next novel can't come soon enough!

The Audio Book:

The narrator was great! All the voices were believable. Nicole Poole has a nice range of male and female voices with and without accents.

This was a disappointing book. Recollections of her Mageri series (which I only listened to because I enjoyed the Crossbreed series so much and it had great reviews for some unknown reason and which wasn't half as good) SPOILERS if you haven't read either series. Main character gets taken by her abusive creator and gets abused some more until she's found by her paramour. Though I will give that the author did a much better job with the whole kidnapping storyline in this series. Raven is a much more fun sassy strong and intelligent character then the main character in the other series. Houdini is interesting and she did a pretty good job of showing how adept he is with his gaslighting techniques. I really enjoy the side characters in this series and she gives just enough on them to keep them entertaining. Though there was less of them in this particular story (but there was more of Blue). The wisecracking and betting between Christian and Raven keeps them fresh too. I am curious to see how this series pans out. It's much tighter than her other series and I'm hoping she doesn't go back down that particular rabbit hole - forcing her characters and world to fit the story even if it doesn't make sense.

Oh.My.God. I could not out this book down! I've read all the other books in this series along with several others that Dannika Dark has written. But this has got to be my all time favorite!! And as for Christian *swoon* let's just say this book was everything I wanted ? now I'll be anxiously awaiting the next book. ?

It was a good read..I enjoyed the characters and the continuation of the story. It made me mad how much sense or at least how much the Houdini guy had me thinking twice about things. And Fletcher running away pissed me off cause i was hoping she would do this big battle of fighting him in the story..but I think the way it turned out was better because it leaves something to be desired. I recommend if you read the first few books and like different kinds of paranormal creatures fighting!!

This book had me on edge the whole time! I absolutely LOVE all of Dannikas books. This one had so many amazing moments but also some moments that made me so upset-which to me makes a great story! Her ability to draw readers in and make them feel so much for the characters she’s written is just incredible. I feel as if I’m experiencing the moments with the characters. I loved Christian in the books with Silver but his interactions with Raven are so heartfelt. Love this series.
