Gigi and Jarrett showed so many sides. I love how Gigi was able to rely on her family and friends and in turn be such a strong support for Jarrett. As much as Jarrett struggled with realizing his feelings and emotions he still let Gigi in!
I absolutely love how you can get lost in the books this author writes. You’ve done it again!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. It started off great. Hi hi is a teen living in a rough part of town. Jarrett "Rett"is the adopted brother of her neighbor and has a "bad boy" vibe Gigi is drawn too. She begins following him around not only because if her blooming attraction but secretly for protection. She moves away but never stops thinking of her Rett. When they accidently run into each other again he has completely changed. Thats when the story fell apart. I can understand him being a jerk to her in front of his gang so they wont target her. But he was worse when they were alone. I could not see why she was still drawn to him.

I read an ARC copy from Hidden Gems. Jo Raven gives us a sweet, sexy, hot YA story about Gigi and Jarrett. Bad Wolf is not the best title, but the attraction and passion the two share is well written and the twists and turns move right along.

VOLUNTARY ARC REVIEW- It was a great story that kept me wanting to know what was next. I'm a sucker for an outward bad boy that's good at heart. I also adore the women that love them & make the HEAs possible. I just felt this one was too long.

They story itself was only about 200 pages or so. Loved the plot but the main characters were somewhat annoying. Probably because they were in their late teens and early 20s, so many bad decisions were made that could of been easily avoided. Otherwise it was a good short read. I would give 4 stars only because of the extra books that was added in and the samples along with it. Loved how all of their stories were interwoven together.

Gigi has history with Jarett but lost touch when they moved to be closer to Matt her sister Octavia’s husband & owner of Mancave.
Jarrett life hasn’t been easy he’s so busy trying to keep the promises he made but are they to much?

This is such a sad story. Rett has had such a hard time in life and all he wants is to keep his promise and protect Seb, but that is definitely no easy task. He ends up gett8ng into some things that keep him down. I just want to hug him tight and tell him it’ll all be alright, but he needs to get out of that mess. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to see more from this author.

Jarett is a very complex character. It seems like the more the book goes on the more you want to know about how he thinks. Why he does what he does. I love how Gigi doesn’t give up even when she’s not 100% sure. You can tell she’s always in Jaretts mind even when he tries to rote the her and keep here away from all the danger. Loved this book and can’t wait for Merc I have a feeling he’s going to be my favorite character!

This story is about Jarett and Gigi. Jarett has had a bad start to life, parents killed, foster homes, being adopted. Gigi grew up next door to Jarett, she always had a big crush on him. She use to stick close to him after school to keep the bullies from bothering her. She ends up moving away with her mom and brother to be close to the Hansens. When they meet again 3 years later, their attraction to each other is still strong. But things are so much different Jarett is struggling in his life he's joined a gang to look after his stepbrother Seb. This story was an emotional rollercoaster ride so many twists and turns. The story was well written and the characters were well developed. I loved Jarett and Gigi they have to navigate through so many obstacles to be together. I really enjoyed reading this book and would highly recommend it. I voluntarily received an advance arc copy for an honest review.

Too much angst for me. Caveman was the first Jo Raven book I read and I feel it was a lot more polished than this one.

This one felt like most of the few I’ve read that were published before Caveman. But if you enjoy the angst and the turmoil then this is for you.

It’s been a couple years (not sure how many, the plot was confusing about the timeline) since Gigi and her family moved away from Destiny for a better life in the city. Now a student at the local college, she spends a good deal of her time with her ‘bestie’ (do people not say ‘best friend’ anymore?) Sydney. But Sydney seems to be involved in something illicit that keeps putting her at risk, but she refuses to tell Gigi what. One night after Sydney runs off from Gigi at a club, Gigi’s approached by a familiar guy who gets handsy and rough. Gigi’s rescued by Jarrett, adopted brother to handsy guy Sebastian, a boy she would follow home from school back in Destiny as a means of protection from the bullies. Old feelings begin to resurface for them both, but Jarrett makes sure to do whatever he can to keep her away from his new, dangerous lifestyle.

The story was slow at times, mostly because it was repetitive. There was a lot of push and pull – Jarrett pushes away, Gigi tries to save him – that just kept playing over and over again. I really liked Gigi, especially when she interacted with Merc, but she could stand to have a stronger backbone. Jarrett was… confusing. He was this big, tough guy that let everyone push him around. Learning about his past, I understand why he thought he deserved whatever he got, but I wanted him to have a “screw you, I’m worth more than this” moment, and it never came. Some people got what they deserved, but it was never at Jarrett’s hand. It disappointed me.

Parts of this story are sad and depressing, but not too much to prevent a happy ending. Although, the happy ending was very brief and with no epilogue, I was left hanging.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Bad Wolf is a contemporary, New Adult, angsty, steamy and drama filled story.
It's a good read, with true-to-life and emotionally charged situations.
There were few discrepancies and plot holes in the story that were a bit annoying but overall it's a nice tale.

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(Hidden Gems) I know that I am in the minority here, and again that is ok..I don't know if it was because of the hype of this book, and I was excited but this book didn't live up to my expectations..I am not saying that it was bad, just was not great for me..I found it too slow, I thought Jarett needed to let go of his family, they where not worthy for everything he did for them. Then we have Gigi, I just was not crazy about her..Anyhoo that is my take..

I couldn't really get into this book. The characters were young, and a lot of times annoying. This book is more YA, and sometimes that's a hit or miss for me. I like a little more maturity to my characters. The story drug at times, and it seemed to take forever to get to a good part. This is a first for me from this author, but I would be willing to read something else from her.

I received an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

I did not like Bad Wolf. I felt that the writing, especially the dialogue was very sophomoric. And could we not think about the same things over and over and over again. Gigi kept thinking about the past with Rett. Rett kept thinking about his brother. Enough already! I really skimmed this because it was not interesting to me at all. I did not get the attraction between the two but apparently ALL the other characters did because every one of them kept mentioning it.

I would not recommend this book.

This book was to me mediocre. I thought it was a bit boring and confusing in parts. Was not a fan of the ending.... Gigi seems a bit lost and then boom shes this strong girl. And Jarrett is trying to do right by his adopted mom and his brother is too far gone. Seb was trying at the end of the book. Merc sounds like a good brother. Just good moments and weird or confused in the book

If you haven't read the Caveman series by Jo Raven, then don't panic. While this story is loosely connected to it - alright, so Gigi is Merc and Matt's sister; so this is her story and how they ended up where they did at the time of their lives.

It was the kind of story that was dark - well, the background was and is. It's the whole drug/gang scene and this author didn't sugar coat just who can be dragged into the world without a second thought. Gigi, my first impression of her, was the spoiled little girl trying to find her own way in life, only as the story progressed, you saw her vulnerability. Her fears and doubts, and you also saw just how hard she loves. She's the kind of girl that you want and need by your side because she will do everything to protect you, even as small and short as she is.

Jarrett. He surprised me. He was a mystery from the beginning, not too sure what his story really is since he alludes to the fact that his being in the gang isn't the worst thing he's ever done in his life. Needless to say that him, i wanted to know everything there was about him and why he felt the need to keep protecting his brother Sebastian after all the idiotic crap he put him through.

I really enjoyed this story - i liked how it flowed, i liked how the characters were more than what they seemed. And i liked how it was linked to a previous series that i know i'll have to reread just for the benefit of finding out if we get a glimpse of Gigi and Jarrett in there.

While the characters are likeable, the story drags...and drags. I skipped a lot of pages and still didn't miss anything important. I can relate to Jarrett, I myself have been raised in Foster homes, went from group home to group home. The need to feel loved and wanted...I get it, but DAMN the poor me thing gets old. Gigi comes from a single parent home, but she's always had the love and support of her family. Two polar opposites drawn toward each other.
It could have been a better book.
I gave it two stars, because I liked the characters...the story could have been better. Just a little boring .

The book was ok. Definitely would call this a YA novel which is not something I usually would read. Story line was ok - but just didn't love it. There was some good angst and chemistry between Rett and Gigi - but it was somewhat repetitive and dragged out. I was ready for it to end about half way through. Had some issues with both characters - Rett saying he was broke - but taking Ubers everywhere. Gigi in college - but only seemed to go to school sometimes? And didn't quite get the title - didn't really fit? Writing was good otherwise - would try another book from the author as this was my first.

I was happy to see Gigi and Jarret's story. I fell in love with Gigi but the story barely held my attention. It did get better towards the end.I guess it was to many chapters of them pretty much ignoring each other. I felt that it wasn't as good as Octavia's stories. Syd I was so confused about. I jever understood what she kept doing. It did keep the mystery, Besides that, all the hints of what Jarrett life consisted of and Gigi's secret, that just about killed me. I felt so bad for these two people. They way Jarrett and Gigi kept seeing each other was cute but then again Jarrett could be a jerk. Jarrett protecting Seb when he was a jerk to him. So I really didn't like all. I liked seeing Matt and Tati. Nice to see thr gender of Matt's and Tati's child. I wish we knew the name though. After everything, Seb saved/ hurt Jarett. It was hard in the end. I felt bad for him and Gigi. Part of the end crushed me. In the end they got their HEA. Overall a good read but at some pointa got a bit boring but finally got good!

I couldn't finish this one. It was repeated over and over again how different Rett was 3 years ago, how sweet he was... how she couldn't understand why he's so different now. We didn't get much of a glimpse of him being sweet to her in the past so harping on that just got annoying. Also, I don't understand why does he care so much about his "brother", Seb? He's only been part of Seb's family for a short bit of time and from what Gigi described at the beginning of the book, Seb has always been a jerk. Didn't make sense why Rhett would get involved in the gang for Seb's sake.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Gigi meets Jarrett as a young girl and he becomes her protector but fate steps in and she and her family move away. Years later she sees Jarrett again in the alley at a bar while trying to rescue her friend from a bad situation. Jarrett does not want to let Gigi in so he does not treat her so great but you know the story the worse they treat you the more you come back for a bigger pile of pain.... I get that Jarrett wanted to live up to his promises to his brother but that did not mean he was not worthy of Gigi and that he did not deserve to be happy. Gigi also had a person that she needed to cut lose because they were dragging her down, her best friend. The sex scenes were smoking hot and I really liked the story line but sometimes you do get tired of the guys just treating the girls like a doormat and the girls just keep on taking it.

Read in exchange for honest review. This book had a great premise, it just fell short for me. This was extremely long winded, and repetitive. The characters acted much younger than they were and I had a hard time liking them. Rhett had so many issues, and even though he constantly did the wrong thing, he was doing it for the right reasons. But still he just kept going back and forth. Same with Gigi. Good girl, but at times she just irked me. After reading the first half I was ready to give up on it. It did get better in the last part of the book. It just took forever to get there.

From the start I had a feeling like I missed something, like this isn't the first book in a series. They were so many names who you know nothing about, but it felt like you have to know them. I don't find it very believable, that one still speak to a boy, after he talks to you like Jarret did. And always with the' payment'. He has enough women leaving him videos so he calls them back. That whole inner dialogue was a little bit much. And that Jarrett always gets hurt. And why protect a brother who hit you and knife you, too strange for me. The next thing that was strange was the nicknames, I had to think twice who could this one be. After 50 % of the book I started to like it, jarred was much nicer and I felt sorry for him, I guess it is just in us to safe a bad sad boy. All in all it was an ok read, not my first choice but ok.

2.5 - 3 stars

I wanted to like this book more than I did but unfortunately it didn't work for me. Perhaps it's geared for a younger reader since the H/h seemed really young and immature. After a few years separation Gigi is saved from unwanted advances by ex-neighbor bad boy Jarett. Then starts a repetitive pattern where she wants to save him and he pushes her away, then draws her back. This made for slow reading because I felt I was reading the same-o same-o over and over and over... This is a dark angst filled storyline sometimes too much because there didn't seem to be resolutions for multiple concerns. I've read other books by this author that I really liked so won't give up o her but this was a miss for me.

This was a difficult read for me. Difficult due to the content. My review has nothing pertaining to the writer or their style. I actually thought the writing was good. I must have assumed this book was more romance in bad boy romance but it's not. That's why my rating is low. I completely misunderstood the content. I do love to read. I'm a pure addict of reading and escaping reality but I like my themes to be a bit more positive. I'm ok with danger, suspense and some dark angels but this was way to heavy on the dark. I hung in there for 25% and couldn't go on. If you like abuse, violence, deception, abuse, gangs, drugs and more abuse then have fun reading. I just couldn't stay on this ride. It's a personal preference about the topic and nothing more.

This was a love/hate read for me
I liked the premises -
Bad Boy - somewhat Good Girl
Second Chance at life - again no spoilers - I will say I understood what Rett was trying to do - logic does not always factor into our decisions when they are based on pure perception/emotion
I liked Rett - hated Seb - up in the air about Gigi -
Strong secondary characters whom I would actually enjoy seeing spinoffs of
Really really liked the mom twist - I don't want to spoil that because it makes for an interesting game changer further along in the story
There was just something for me that did not click and I tried...

This story was well-written, and that was the most I got out of it really. The character stories went in circles, repeating the same little hints over and over again when it would have been better to cut to the chase after the second or third hint.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I voluntarily read the arc copy of this book. Intense and sexy read that had me on an emotional roller coaster with complex characters and well-crafted story that I couldn't put down or turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next. If you like contemporary bad boy romances, Bad Wolf is a must-read.

This book was a great read. It has a super hot alpha that is tortured by his past a little spitfire that tries to do good by helping him find the light to his darkness. There is some suspense and delicious sexy scenes thrown too. I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.

Jarrett and Gigi were easy to like and then as I read their story, easy to love. Both had issues but they were able to love each other and that was the anchor th ey both needed to keep going.

This was a really good read. I liked the characters and the relationship between them. There are roadblocks in their way and watching them navigate these is interesting. There are some really hot scenes in the book and they're well written. Will be looking out for more from this author.

This book was so good and had so many heartbreaking spots. I felt so bad for Rhett and all he had to go through and kept going through. Finding love with Gigi made things better for him. Made him want to become a better man. Looking forward to reading more.

I enjoyed the read. It was good, it just moved to slow for me and I felt like the characters needed more depths. However, I feel like the story would have been better had known and started from the beginning. I plan on checking out more from this author. Especially now that I know there are series involved.

This book starts out slow but picks up. The characters can frustrate you at times because of their decisions. Jarrett and Gigi are young and met in high school. The storyline was good but dragged on a bit for me. I voluntarily received this book to review for my honest opinion.

I liked the book overall but there were parts that seemed to drag on and on... I also was not a fan of the beginning in the club trying to figure out who all the players were. once you get past that its a fun book.

I thought this was a 3.5 star book. There was certainly some intrigue with this book. I thought Jarett had a lot of junk with his history - too much. Not a typical romance.

I received an arc of this book for an honest review. This is a tough read with unsympathetic main characters and even less savory sub-characters. If you persist, the ending has a nice turnaround, but I suspect many readers won't finish the book.

I received an ARC to review this book. I enjoyed this book. It was longer than I would have liked due to all the gang and drama there. I had a hard time getting through it. I felt the author drew it out a bit to long. But a good read. She did an amazing job with her descriptions of the characters and the story! Would def pay 99 cents to read!

This book rated a little lower for me than most of Ms. Raven's other books. I struggled with the hero in this one. It is a well written book and I think people will like it. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Jarrett and Gigi get their second chance in this deliciously naughty fairy tale romance. Gigi knew a boy that was quiet, sweet, and stole her heart away until circumstance broke them apart. Now years later she runs into Jarrett again and he has become this hard sexy stranger - but something tells Gigi her Rett is still behind the mask he has created. Its seems that Jarrett has always been followed by a cloud of death and despair. Everytime he finds some silver lining it is ripped from him. His promise to his mother to protect his brother Seb has lead him into a life he knows will lead to their ultimate destruction, but when you have had everything you love taken from you a promise is a promise. When Gigi appears like an Angel back in his life he knows he should keep away - not taint her goodness. But there is just something about this girl that makes him want… makes him dream.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
