I really enjoyed "Spider's Bite", the first in the Elemental Assassin series. Jennifer Estep has done a great job of creating a believable world, well populated by interesting characters. I am looking forward to continuing with this series. Very enjoyable read.

What a fun world this author puts together. Love the charaters and relationships. It is an easy read which I found very hard to put down. If you are wanting a fun gripping story pick this up, you will enjoy it.

This book was very entertaining and held my attention through to the end. The first
Elemental Assassin book that I read was number 5 so number 1 filled in some things I did not know about the characters. Both books were very well written and I look forward to reading the others in the series.

Too many inconsistencies with main character. Too much predictability. A lot of print is spent on main character describing her actions doing her job. She repeats how careful she is and how she tries to anticipate problems. She does this to avoid becoming dead. It is obvious that she and the male lead are going to end up in bed. He naturally hates and is attracted to her. The problem is there is no character development to get to that point. Spider is in the middle of a dangerous assignment, with not one or two but three potentially and known dangerous suspects. The male lead is her back up. Instead of staying on the job (as she claims she does through out the book) she and the male lead have sex in a closet. The assignment goes bad. The rest of the book tries to correct the problem. The male lead still hates her and apparently himself. Character can give up her work ethics for a 15 minute stand, she isn't worth book 2.

I really liked this book... it starts out great and continues to deliver a fun read. I never rehash the plot in my reviews, that's what we read the books for. Witty, sarcastic dialog (my favorite kind); and a nice change from the usual cast of characters in most Urban Fantasies. A good value for the dollar.

This book had glimmerings of promise. It was ruined for me, though, because it was badly edited and repetitive. Take out all the unnecessary bits (pasted in revenge motive, uncontrolled lust) and the book would have been 2/3 as long. And far more enjoyable. It also really read like a male author's version of a tough broad.

This book and series keep you guessing at every turn. I couldn't put this book down. I was hesitant at first but I fell in love with the badass heroine and sarcasm that flows throughout the book. If you love action, a sassy heroine, and a splash of good romance you have to read this book.
