This one will keep you guessing until the very end - you won’t even be able to trust yourself! It’s full of rich characters, and an emotional storyline. You’ll want to follow the strong heroine, Hal, on many more adventures by the end. If you like a great who-dunnit that unravels the past and present with complex intrigue, you’ve got to read it.

I really loved the setting and storyline of this book. I think my mind is still processing it all, to see if everything adds up based on what the ending was, but I'm not even going to go there. My mind was constantly trying to solve it and I enjoyed it and couldn't turn the pages fast enough!

This book was a delicious ride, with twists and turns all the way through. I loved the gothic atmosphere, and some of the similarities to Daphne du Maurier’s “Rebecca”. The author also really develops the characters well, and I loved the protagonist. Best mystery in a long time!

Again, Ruth Ware does not disappoint. Suspense builds slowly to a surprising climax and ending. I did not like this one as much as The Lying Game. I found most of the characters to be unpleasant, unsavory, and just plain nasty.
