The Complete Series (Books 1 - 4) - Beautiful Creatures

Writing a successful YA series that appeals to tweens, teenagers and adults alike (such as Harry Potter and The Hunger Games) is quite a skill and not one that this series achieves.

While I think teenagers would probably quite enjoy this series, as an adult I found it far too long and drawn out, overtly cheesy and predictable. You know the plot lacks intelligence when you can easily predict the ending before you have even picked up the fourth and last book.

The only character I really liked was Macon and I think this is mostly because Jeremy Irons played the role in the movie. Ethan is far too selfless for a teenager to be believable and bizarrely quite female-oriented in his thoughts. And for the most part, I just found Lena, Link and Ridley annoying.

Throughout the process of purchasing we were amazed with the quality of the service we were provided with. The vendor bent over backwards to assist us with everything we needed. delivery was super quick; and exactly as described. However, I "hate" that, of course, this set does not contain the DREAM DARK book the Beautiful Chaos paperback does. Oh well, I'll pick up what I need to know from the dear people that dont understand what a review is and give you the whole story. ha! In addition, forego the movie and wrap yourself in the books; its a well done, multi-layered story.( though the transitions could have been better. I fault having 2 writers and slackers at proofing.)

The movie sparked my interest, but as usual the books are so much better. You can easily have watched the movie and still enjoy the entire series without a problem as they are so different. Definitely a must read for middle/high school girls!

I ordered these "used" so I was a little skeptical as to how they would come but didn't want to pay full price for new. All that was "wrong" was they each have a black marker dot on the bottom of the book...who cares! They are really nice and in VERY good condition. I've been enjoying them =).

Fast paced book with fleshed out characters and interesting story line. Enjoyed every page!

I've read all in the series and can tell you that this series is definitely special. You fall in love with the characters and the setting...a crash course in southern culture :) I'm truly on withdrawl from this series. I was sick of hunger games at the end but this series...I miss. Sigh. There are some "jumps" in some places but all loose ends are taken care of by the series conclusion. I took a day on each book-you won't want to put them down!!! FYI book 2 was probably the slowest-book 3 was probably my favorite.

Beautiful creatures is an exciting thrilling book, a very interesting story. I'm glad I decided to get the novel because the movie is a whole different story, different ending and left out a whole bunch of interesting characters, (and Ethan is 6ft tall n handsome). I can't wait to read the next book "beautiful darkness"

This is one of the most imaginative and intriguing fantasy series I have ever read. And believe me, I have read very many. When I finished it, I was sorry I had been so impatient to see how it came out. If I had read it more slowly, I could have enjoyed it for longer.

These books are great! Not quite what I was expecting, as it is a more preteen/teen-centered writing and subject matter, but I was enticed after a couple chapters! These books arrived extremely quickly and the packaging was great! They were in imacculate condition! Great buy!

Great read, was completely hooked up until 3/4 through the last book.. Got a little " long" for me after that... But it ends okay. Loved that it's told through his eyes and not hers... Great read! You'll be hard pressed not to love Amman,Link and Mason too.
