This book was absolutely beautiful in describing the struggles of young adults to express themselves. Especially one that has such issues as Caitlin. It also shows us that no matter what life throws at you there is always a way to overcome it

Loved that border of relation to emotion and the actual world. Never have I found myself reading a book where on one page I was crying and the next laughing out loud. Easy read that I could not put down! Finished cover to cover in 5 hours

This book shows many people think that some people don't understand the world when really the world doesn't understand them.it's a sad story but teaches you how the main character thinks,as well as the harsh teachings of reality.

A simply worded book, that describes a complicated disorder accurately and with genuine love. A great read for anyone else interested in acquiring a better understanding of those living with autism/asperger syndrome.

Everyone must read this. It was recommended to me by one of my sixth graders, a beautiful, lovely, bright, empathetic girl who knows exactly what it means to have to Work Hard and a girl who always Gets it. I have learned so much and feel honored to be her teacher and student.

This is a poignant, beautifully written book. I am reading it to the middle school students that I teach. We are discussing what life is like for someone who has Asperger's. My objective is for students to better understand people who live with this syndrome. They have been very receptive and have had some amazing insights.

The Mockingbird gave me some insight as to how my 14yr old high functioning autistic son feels and thinks about the death of a family member. Although it might seem they are cold and emotionless; the book helps to uncover their true thoughts about this emotional time which reviels comfusion for both the autistic person and the rest of the family.

LOVED this book! The author wrote this from the perspective of a young girl with aspergers, and it's really well done. It's one of those books that may make you both laugh and cry. It's a quick and enjoyable read, I'd highly recommend it.

Some five star reviewed books I've purchased leaves me wondering...I just don't get why all the stars. This one earns every star and more.
I was completely surprised by this book. If one wants to see what it's like on both sides of a sometimes very difficult coin (whether one is familiar with Asperger's or not), I highly recommend this book. The characters will tug at the heart strings and wrap themselves around ones fingers, so that putting the book down is hard at best.
I wish I had some of the strategies that Caitlin used when I was growing up..."I look at the person" is just brilliant. I can't thank Kathryn Erskine enough for writing this book.
