Review:My Opinion:
I really enjoyed this book. The premise was amazing. I loved that Maddie could read the dates of people's deaths which she didn't even realize until her father passed away. We are taken on her journey of her father's death and the meaning of those numbers. She is someone you will root for from the first page. This author gives us a wonderfully written tale of Maddie and everything she feels and you feel it with her. You feel bad for her, glad, sad, angry and everything else. I can... Read more

Review:I was quite hesitant when I picked up this book from the library. But, it was highly recommended. So, I thought why not... However, once I have started reading it, I was immersed in the story. The book is about the adventures of Prosper and Bo, who ran away from their dreadful aunt to Venice. Once in Venice, they bumped into Scipio, the Thief Lord, a kid himself with a mysterious identity. Scipio brought Prosper and Bo to his gang and gave them a "home". As Scipio took on a "big" job, his myster... Read more
Review:I bought this book for my three-year-old who was having some trouble with bullying. This book's message is that if you have unshakable self confidence, you're not going to be able to be conquered by the bullies of the world. It's a little questionable in that respect, but the story and the illustrations are so endearing that I love it anyway. Ideally, I think we all hope that by building our children's confidence, we'll insulate them from at least some of the "slings and arrows" of this world... Read more
Review:Scythe is my first Neal Shusterman book AND one of the best books I’ve read this year. Society lives in a utopia. We’ve defeated death, poverty, hunger, you name it. Do people turn to a Star Trek-type society and explore space and do good things? Nope, they “turn the corner” when they get tired of looking old, having surgery to bring them back to a younger face and body. They stop doing, stop trying to achieve; it’s a stagnant society that doesn’t die. That’s where the Scythes come in.

Review:"From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankwiler" by E.L. Konisburg is an excellent book.It is sort of like a great ig mystery. It is about a young girl named Claudia, who is aroud 11 or 12 years old, and her younger brother Jamie, who is around 9 or so years old. Well to make a long wonderful, nice story short, the two kds run away from home to the Metropolitian Museum of Art, with only about $25.00. The kids do a lot of different things that most children wouldn't do if they ran awa... Read more
Review:I do not recommend this novel for children under the age of 18. The main character is a ten year old girl, psychologically and physically abused by her mother and possibly sexually exploited. For 10 years, she knows nothing beyond the four walls of the family apartment. She and her brother are then moved to the country before London is bombed. While morbid curiosity kept me reading to the half way point, this novel raises so many flags. Read more
Review:I didn't enjoy the book enough to finish it. The story seemed to drag on without really catching my interest. My 10 year old granddaughter ask if she could stop reading it because it was boring. I told her yes and we would find another book that would interest her more. Read more
Review:Ho provides a simple and direct style of writing to introduce the reader to Chase Ryder, a teen aged adventurer who teams up with a genetically modified dog to defy the forces the created the dog for evil purposes. While there is violence and treachery, the book is suitable for all ages and definitely for teens and tweens. While there are a few twists and surprises along the way, the plot is very straightforward. Read more
Review:I LOVED it!!!
I wish I had read this book while I was in middle school! I think it had EVERYTHING I would have wanted!
The way the Information was so gently handed to the reader, would have prompted me to find other books to further research the scientists, they were so well explained.
The family issues, and interactions were believable. Growing out of one relationship and into another as we all do, as the one between Ellie and her best friend and having divorced parents is a part of li... Read more
