The beauty of this book is that it is interactive (especially for a baby/toddler fascinated by the word NO). The illustrations are clever and the text is simple enough for smaller children to understand and follow.

My daughter and I giggle so much through this book that it's a wonder we ever finish it. Really fun to read - great sense of humor displayed by Mo Willems (we love Knuffle Bunny too). It misses five stars because I'm always afraid if I read it too much, my daughter's favorite word might become "no".

My 7 year old daughter loves all the Pigeon books. I think we own them all. She loves reading several of them each night. It's a win-win: she enjoys reading them and her reading skills have improved as a result. I highly recommend the Pigeon books. It's great to hear your kids read and laugh (let's you know they also understand what they are reading). This little Pigeon has such as personality.

The drawings are simple. The words are few. Normally a book like this would be passed over, but Mo Willems proves that sometimes less is more. The Pigeon is packed with personality that seems to jump off the page. The pigeon represents all young children in their quest to do something they can not do and is instantly relatable. The story only seems to get funnier with each reading. This is a story that will stand the test of time.

After having come across Knuffle Bunny, I decided to get this book for my 19 month-old. At first, the drawings struck me as crude. But after reading it some more, it was clear how expressive the pigeon is. And how useful it is to have a book that shows that sometimes you just have to say "no."

The bottom line is that my 19 month-old loves it. He is just beginning to speak. A surprise for me is that he began to say the word "no" -- after we got this book. Now, whenever he says "no" and points at his books, I know exactly what book he wants to read.

This is a delightful and funny book for preschoolers. It is offered in some school libraries and is very popular, but if your child or grandchild has not read it, I would recommend buying it for them. They will giggle at the silliness of it and it is not in the least irreverent toward adults or other children.

Our Grandchildren LOVE this book. It's one to read over and over and over and over.
Every time the pigeon gives a reason why you should let him drive the bus, the kids say "NO". It's a fun way for them to get to say no without it being defiance to something you have said. It also helps them to start thinking about why you tell someone no.

I love this book. Though the illustrations are simple, the expressions on the pigeon's face and the dialogue are hilarious. This book allows the reader (parent, grandparent, teacher, etc.) to be as silly, dramatic, and expressive as he/she is willing to be. Read it to a child, and encourage the child to answer the pigeon's begging, whining, and cajoling questions. Who says bedtime stories have to put the reader to sleep? Lots of fun!

Children love this book. After reading to a class of 1st graders , the teacher reported that the children read it over and over independently, trying to emulate the expression used when it was read to them.

The book seems to empower children, because they get to say "NO" to the reader.

I really like the minimalist drawings and the playful story, it's not the best kid book I've ever read but I'm glad I have this one and will check out the rest from the library. There are a lot of preschool book-related activities based on this book that my daughter's teachers organize so that was reason enough to get our own copy to talk about at home

This is an adorable picture book, humorous for adults and delightful for kids. The Pigeon is rather sneaking, and tries several different argument to convince the reader that he should drive the bus. The arguments will be familiar to parents as every child has employed the same methods. It would be a good teaching book for a child dealing with tantrums.

Pigeon wants to drive the bus. He really, really wants to drive the bus. Really, really, really, really. Pigeon sounds like a child wheedling his or her way to get what he/she really, really, really wants. Pigeon tries but you can outlast his wheedling. Can't you?

Fun book. Pigeon really does sound like a child. The illustrations are wonderful.

I bought this book because of its great reviews, and gave it to my almost 6 year old. Now I have read it nearly every day since Christmas! And every single time, I get belly laughs out of her. What a great way Mo Willems tells this story. I've just added all the other Piegon books to my cart. Here's hoping there as big a hit as this one (mommy's ready for some variety!). Truly, I can't say enough good things about this one.

My niece loves this book. We had been concerned she might take the pigeon's naughty behavior as advice on what to do to get what she wants, but she jumped right in to tell the pigeon this is not ok. Not only is the story cute, but it gives children the parent's perspective and they love reading it. I highly recommend it.

Bought this for my granddaughter who will be six soon. Haven't had a conversation with her yet, but I think she will like this book. She has a great interest in books and is very perceptive, so I think it will be a hit.

Imagine going to China and not being able to find a children's picture book in Chinese in a bookstore. I was thrilled to come home and find this one illustrated by Mo Willems...and guess what...he came to visit the Mazza Museum (a collection of art from children's picture books) located right in my town so I was able to get it autographed. the store never lets me down when I'm looking for a certain book...thanks to the dealers who sell on the store.com.

While this story is short and not all that educational, I find it a joy to read to my young children. They laugh, and get involved in preventing the pigeon on the bus.

We enjoy reading it over and over and over again. We have even purchased it for gifts for cousins and friends.

Yes, the Pigeon is famous and has been for years, but the story and the pictures are fresh and lively for our wonderful little boy. A favorite read that now elicits smiles and giggles at bedtime, a great way to wind down after a busy day and prepare for bedtime.

Small children love the repetition here. They also identify with someone, in this case the Pigeon being told NO a lot. Let's mom, dad or caregiver work being responsible and keeping kiddos safe into the story too. Little ones like being reminded "Just like the Don't let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, I have to keep you safe and say no.

So fun! I bought this for a several friends' kids and it's always a hit. The kids get into the story and interacting with the pages as that wiley pigeon tries to cajole his way into driving the bus. It was a fun read and my friends have said their kids continue to enjoy it months later.

This is the classic Mo Willems Pigeon book in the Pigeon series. It's the first one we received when my son was 4, and he has memorized ALL of the pigeon books! He loves to act them out, assigning me one role (usually the bus driver,) while he plays the other, (usually the pigeon.) I wouldn't say these are "relaxing" bed time tales - lol - in our house, they are very entertaining, but definitely do not lull him to sleep :)

My son loved this one. We originally borrowed it from the library. He loved it so much, he asked me to buy it for him. I got it for him for Christmas. So far, we have read it over 10 times & he enjoys reading the book on his own and laughing along.

My five year-old grandson was CRAZY for this book.. He laughs and wants it read over and over. It's very
cute to have the pidgeon begging and pleading and throwing tantrums like a five year old! Very simple illustrations
but very entertaining.

My boys absolutely love this book! They read it most nights and we've had it for a couple months now. It's a very interactive book. My kids will either talk back to the pigeon or read the book themselves (they can't actually read yet, they've just memorized it). Illustrations are so fun and so funny.

This is a great series of books. The illustrations are simple and cute. The repetition is great for beginning readers and because it makes you laugh it makes it fun to read, both for the reader and the one being read to.

Fun book - especially once little ones are old enough to get into it! Don't let that pigeon climb into the bus driver's seat, no matter how many times or how many ways he asks! Also a good chance for kids to talk about pigeon's bad behavior, and how we should ask for things we want.

This is just a silly book that depicts how children sometimes insist on doing something they are not yet old enough to handle. This book is lots of fun to read and my 3 year old grandson definitely gets the humor.

When my Granddaughter was younger her teacher at school, would read the class books. This author was her very favorite. Now she is a couple years older, and wants all of his books to play school and read to her make-believe class.

The reader takes an active role in the narrative of this adorable book. On the title page the bus driver charges the reader with "don't let the pigeon drive the bus." The pigeon begs and pleads...it is hilarious.
