WOW!! “Queen Heir” by Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone starts off with a bang and doesn’t slow down. There is so much going on but it’s easy to follow. I love the hint of forbidden romance. The chemistry between Arianna and Kade is amazing and I can’t wait to find out what will happen as they work together. The mystery surrounding the Red Queen’s death is captivating. Very well written; the story line draws you in from page one. The supporting characters are just as great as the main characters. Don’t miss out on this exciting book.

Another home run for Leia and Jaymin. These team of awesome ladies just makes me want to live in their heads. This book is definitely another original idea. I haven't read any shifter books that take place in a metropolitan area let alone the other surprises that they came up with. Can't wait to read the next book, this one just left breathless and and craving more.

I loved that the story sucks you in immediately from the beginning. I enjoyed that this is an adult story line with content rather than just cuss words and sex. There is detail without being bored. I purchased it and read the entire thing in one evening/night.

***POSSIBLE MILD SPOILERS***

Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone come together for yet another series. This first book in the series won’t disappoint. The main character has been groomed as a potential queen of the wolf shifters all her life. When her queen dies, she must compete with 3 others for her right to reign. She suspects that her queen was murdered and despite being rivals, she is forced to join forces with the king of the bear shifters to fight for the survival of all shifters. This book ends with a cliffhanger but the next rendition will be available soon. Read this book. You won’t be disappointed!

Another great read by Jaymin and Leia. I enjoyed reading about Ari. She isn't your typical heroine--the angsty, angry, chip-on-the-shoulder, submissive just is not her. She has class and thinks before she acts. She is a born and breed leader in a matriarchal wolf shifter community. I liked the different take on shifters and how they relate to the Mecca, an ancient energy or magic force. Ari has a connection to the Mecca even before the fall of the last Queen. Now she has trials to face to see if she is worthy of becoming the new Queen against 3 other heirs. And to top all that off, she comes face to face with an old flame that is 100% off limits!

Ari is a heroine worth rooting for and her world will suck you right in and not let you go. Great read!

These authors would get higher ratings from me if their books were actually books! I really like the Hive series and I loved the Supernatural Prison series, but all the books are too short.

The characters are interesting and the story pulls you in, but the story is rushed and confusing sometimes. I just wish the author would take the time to tell the story rather then give recaps when necessary for our understanding.

**Spoilers***

This book was just... wow. Just... yikes. Arianna is queen Mary Sue. She was never truly challenged throughout the entire book. First we're introduced to this character with pale skin, blonde hair despite Polynesian heritage? Okay. But then she rules... the Bronx? Couldn't even give her some Latina heritage when choosing that she rules.... the bronx? Have you ever been to the bronx?

Oh her best friend is also super special too. Everything in her life was handed down in perfect timing to make sure that everything was perfectly easy for her. Did I say she was handed everything. She had all the powers and all the perfect gifts to make it through. She was born that way. Her flaws were not really flaw.

There was no conflict, not really. We knew she'd get it because the prime candidate. We were groomed to realize that no one else was even close--except for the girl who happened to be promiscuous and therefore was unfit to rule because of that... and her cold hearted-ness. There was no one designed to actually be a challenge! Also... the way that they wrote the "we're all hotblooded wolves but some of us have self control" was so slut-shamy and close minded blaaaaah.

Even the conflict they tried to introduce for the love interest was just... flat. All of it was flat. He's a bear you kissed him when you were 15--but where's HER emotional conflict over possibly betraying her people through that? Why does she just do what she wants--its boring. boring. boring.

The writing was gawd awful at descriptions. Gawd awful at introducing character descriptions. You know how pretty much all we knew of Hermione was her "bushy hair and buckteeth?" or how all we knew of Rue was her skin was darker than whats-her-face and she had the most beautiful eyes? You reveal character descriptions slowly in a novel--or well. At least if you're going to do it all at once do it well.

Written for twilight fans and more people that also read bad fanfiction.

When you buy this book, the store very clearly states "Three Book Series". Wouldn't you think that would be a series with three books in it?? WRONG ! Under that are the words " complete series", and then they show you a picture of all three books together that you can buy for the same price as buying them singly. Further evidence that there are THREE (3) books in the series. Right ? WRONG !! When you get to the end of book three, you learn that the story isn't finished! There is a book four coming, but they just haven't gotten around to writing it yet, or it's not finished or hasn't been published or whatever. Bottom line; If you want to know the end of the story, check back with us in a year. Jaymin Eve seems to do this a lot. She has an unfinished series, "Curse of the gods" that I was very much enjoying until it abruptly stopped. Not ended, just stopped. I think this is a good series. I would probably give it five stars if it was complete. Instead, I'm giving a single star as a symbol of my discontent. Kinda like leaving a lousy waitress seven cent tip. It's statement ! In any event, if you hate reading unfinished trilogys, or quad- ologys, or unfinished stories of any length, you should not not buy this book until you see at least four books in the series available.

It's difficult to rate this story because I basically read two different stories while reading this book. One was terrible and one was okay with hints of promise. The first half of this book was its own story. It was about our protagonist, Arianna, competing to become the next queen. I HATED this story. It was predictable. It was cliched. It was boring. It was watching perfect people do perfect things perfectly. Except...they aren't really perfect people. In the first half of the book, Arianna is a horrible person. She's an elitist snob. I can't stand her. I HATE her. I want her to lose. The competition was drab, but it could have been an opportunity. It could have been used to create tension, conflict, suffering, and some sorely needed opportunities for mean chick Arianna to change and grow. I almost didn't get through the first half of this story. Honestly, the story should have begun at a different point in time. I can't figure out how the competition between the heirs progressed the story at all. First half: 1 star.

The second half of the story is about Arianna investigating the mysterious death of the previous queen with the help of some unlikely allies. This story is a mystery and we're introduced to likable characters. Those characters seemed to bring out a more pleasant side of Arianna, making her more likable as well, though I couldn't really reconcile the new Arianna with the old Arianna because it was a HUGE departure from the Arianna in the first half of the book (too big of leap in character = disbelief). The second half introduces a real threat that is minimally explored (so you'll buy the next book) and a forbidden romance is budding (so you'll buy the next book). I'm tempted to read the sequel because of those last two items, but I hesitate to commit. If next book is handled like this one it will be a HUGE waste of my time. My distrust in the handling of the sequel means I will likely only read it if it's available to borrow through kindle Unlimited. Second half: 3 stars.

I'll split the difference. 2 stars

Ari is one of four heirs who could potentially take over should something happen to the Red Queen of the wolf shifters. Wolf shifters can live for hundreds of years, as the queen, she is the most powerful shifter, the one who controls the mecca protecting all her people. When suddenly the queen is found murdered it’s time for the heirs to battle it out in the summit proving they have what it takes to be queen. However, aside from proving she has what it takes to become Queen Ari needs to find out who killed the Red Queen as well as who attacked the heirs. It’s while the summit is going on that they learn the bear shifters also sustained similar attacks, but the bears have an idea who attacked them.

After a series of tasks, Ari comes out the winner becoming the next queen who will control the mecca and save her people. At her coronation the bear King proves that instead of being an enemy, he will a powerful ally, doesn’t hurt that Ari finds him as attractive as he does her. Together with the help of her new ally the two powerful shifters set out working together to figure out what is looming in the shadows. Will working with the bear King unite the two once-warring shifters? Will Ari and Kade be able to deny the connection they feel for each other? What is really looming in the swirling water?

I adore Ari she’s a strong leader willing to lead instead of being in the back of the battle so when the time comes for her to fight she does just that and protects those she loves. I like Kade a lot for her a potential relationship goes against everything she’s been taught but maybe now as Queen, she can make some changes. Ari has a close-knit group of friends from her advisor, her magic bound, as well as her familiar and loyal guards. I’ve got high hopes for Ari and Kade as the series progress’s I’m rooting for them.

I’ve had my eye on this one since I first caught a glimpse of the cover I knew I had to read it. I’m a huge fan of shifter novels so I knew Queen’s Heir was a must that I had to read right away and it doesn’t disappoint if anything it exceeds my expectations. While the concept is very urban fantasy with shifters that’s where the similarities end a unique take on my favorite concept. The authors did a beautiful job weaving a captivating story from start to finish that I could really sink my teeth into. The characters are perfectly balanced easy to connect with and you can’t help cheering them on as I did. A perfect blend of world, action, story and just a smidge of romance to leave you wanting more. My only complaint is that I have to wait for the next one as this one was impossible to put down. I’ve only read a few books by one of the authors before but I can’t wait to check out their other books as I loved this one so much. A beautiful cover to match a beautiful story that I highly recommend for fans of shifters and fantasy.

I adore both Leia and Jaymin, but until this book I had not gotten the chance to experience their mixed writing styles (as with their "Hive" series). I won a copy of "Queen Heir" in a giveaway of Jaymin's and I could not be more pleased to have received this much coveted read ahead of its release date. I could definitely see both authors' styles showcased within this vastly unique read.

As with many authors' works, I could see bits and pieces of some of their more famed characters from in pervious books. I saw the kind and protectiveness of Kai (Matefinder) in Kade (even though these two technically aren't mates...), as well as Braxton's (Supernatural Prison) fierceness and intimidating presence. I could see the passion and love for her people of Aurora (Matefinder) in Arianna, as well as Jessa's (Supernatural Prison) snarky attitude and all-around badassery.

Despite these familiar personalities, make no mistake that this is a wholly unique world that these two ladies have created. Shifter-focused, with a few twists and pieces to puzzle together, we are thrust into a world where predetermined heirs must fight to be the face of their people's future. In this world, it is Arianna's mission and destiny to lead the wolf-shifters after the death of their Red Queen, but first she must face the 'three' other Queen-heirs of age in a battle of wits, magic, and fighting prowess.

Everyone is praying for her successful transfer into power, but what exactly is Ari signing up for should she become Queen? Evil is in the air and forces long-forgotten and thought to be extinct are finding themselves back on earth, right in the midst of the NYC shifters. The shifters will have to make some tough choices and trust in their long-time enemies if they are to weather the storms raging down upon them.

Highly recommended to those who love the paranormal, fantasy, YA genres. The first in its series, now is the perfect time to get into this fine read, before your friends spoil everything for you like one of mine did. XD

Can Leia and Jaymin just move in together and write books together all the time? They're magic together (though, I do love their solo pieces as well). This world they've created is great. Just like their past work, it's just enough "this world" (real world) that I can easily submerse myself and feel alive in it, without having to take two and a half books to get introduced to the world/culture and its workings. The characters are great, believable without being dreadfully predictable. The forbidden romance is enticing and the friendships are comfortable.

Their are twists in the story that you can't predict but that aren't so complex as to confuse the reader. The character development is pretty good (great for the complexity and length of the books). I can't WAIT to learn more about that intriguing bear king in the next book!

Queen Heir by Jaymin Eve & Leia Stone a superb Five-star read. This is the first book in the NYC Mecca series, they have previously written together producing USA today bestselling books, and this book is following that line. Four Queen heirs will fight for the chance to be ruler, or will they.
Arianna is one of the Queen heirs, she is 20 years old and has been groomed for this position for most of her life, once the bells toll to make everyone aware that the current Queen of the wolf shifters, the honourable Red Queen who has ruled for over a hundred years has suddenly died, she knows her journey has started and she could face a fight to her death. If she fails and doesn’t die in the process Ari would wish she had, as a failed Queen heir is not worth anything other than breeding, and that’s not something Arianna wants from her life.
Arianna faces a tough battle and knows that the bear shifters are probably behind the Queens death? They have been trying to rule all five boroughs for years, who else would be strong enough to take out the queen, only problem is they have left no clues, and Arianna promises to avenge the death. Arianna starts to realise that things may not be as they once seemed, especially when she meets the King of the shifter bears, he is rumoured to want peace with the Wolfs, and when she meets him Ari realises something, her life will never be the same again.
Jaymin Eve & Leia Stone write as one, I can’t wait for book two in the series, I can only see this series getting better and better. Once again they have produced some amazing writing.

Wolves and Bears are natural enemies who only unite when convenient. This Bear king does not like war. When the Red Queen of the wolf shifters is murdered a new queen must be crowned. The council calls for a summit for the 4 Queen heirs. As the heirs travel to the summit they are attacked. One heir is killed leaving only 3 left to compete for the crown. Only the strongest of mind and body will be crowned. Arianna is prepared for the challenges ahead. As she is just about to kill Selene to become the new queen everyone is frozen. Arianna fighting Selene and their familiars Finn (Arianna’s wolf) and Larak ( Selene’s snake). They council crowns Arianna the new queen but keep Selene alive as backup due to the attacks. Kade, the Bear king saves Arianna from the Mecca energy at her coronation. Together they form an unlikely alliance to protect their people and the Earth from the Fae long thought to be gone. Will their attraction to each other hinder or help.

The dynamic duo has brought their beautiful minds together again and created another fantastic series! I loved everything about this book. The story starts off with the Queen alpha wolf murdered forcing Arianna and 3 other queen heirs to be brought to the summit to determine who would become the next Queen. Shifters need a Queen. The queen not only rules the wolf shifters but also bonds with the mecca which is the source of their magic. After the Queen bonds with it, she then distributes it through out all the shifters. She is kind of like a transmitter of their magic. They need to hurry and find a successor for Queen because a foe they never even dreamed of is gearing up to start a war and without a Queen there to stabilize the mecca and distribute the magic, the wolf shifters are very vulnerable. This causes an alliance with some smexy bear shifters to happen, and boy am I happy! Specifically a drool worthy beast of bear, King Kade. The writing was flawless. I couldnt tell where one auther ended and the other started. Everything flowed nicely; not too slow but fast enough to keep you interested (which is the perfect pace in my opinion). My new favorite book BFF is Violet! Read the book to find out why! All in all it was an amazing book. I am anxiously waiting for the next one, Queen Alpha!

I really enjoyed this introduction to Jaymin and Leia's new world. Now there is no denying that this series starts off at a run and the pace never slows, but I think the pace lends itself to this book. We are first introduced to Ari when she is forced to face a competition for the crown, something she has never wanted. Put through her paces in a series of competitions against the other potential candidates, we really get to experience Ari's personality and her weaknesses and strengths, which I really love.

I have a read a few reviews for this series that complain that the pace is too fast and too much backstory and history is rushed over. Let me tell you, this is certainly not the case. The history and backstory is revealed in pieces when it's needed, which grabs your attention and makes you want to know more, without being boring or dragging the story down. What we get is a perfect mix of current events, mixed with little tidbits of history, so the story is never boring and it doesn't focus too heavily on past events.

Arianna, Alpha of the Bronx Borough pack has been trained and groomed to be ready should the Red Queen Fall and now Arianna has been awakened by the Tolling of the Bells which announce that the Red Queen is now dead. Now summoned the battle to see who will wear the crown is to begin, but first Arianna has to make it there!
When they arrive at the teleportation area they are attacked and Arianna loses some of her close friends before they make it safely through. Not only do they need to find out what happened to the Queen but Arianna has to make it out of the Summit alive to be named Queen and there are 3 other shifter heirs she has to beat to get it! And the Bear shifters are suspected of the ambush but a representative says the Bear King wants peace.
Who killed the Red Queen? Can Arianna win and become the New Queen and find out what happened to the Old Queen? Do the Bears really want peace? To find out you will have to read this gripping book from Leia Stone and Jaymin Eve. If you want a book that is hard to put down until the final page this is the book for you! I can’t wait for the next installment of the NYC Mecca! Long Live the Queen!

I just cant describe how amazing these two authors co-write is never below spectacular. Queen heir is the first book of their new Trilogy and I couldn't be more excited to devour this series! Their main character Arianna is everything you love in a kick-ass heroine. She's confident, cunning, loyal, and caring which just makes reading the book so much more enjoyable because you root for her throughout the whole entire trial. I seriously couldn't recommend this book (which I feel like I say this about all of their books- ONLY BECAUSE ITS TRUE) more. The twists and turns, highs and lows will put you on a roller coaster that you won't get off of til the very last page. I read this book in one night and had to wake up for work the next morning will less than 2 hours of sleep. Not the best adult decision, but so very worth it. The book hangover was a little more challenging to get through, but if you haven't read any of Jaymin or Leia's books individually. I definitely recommend them to you as a remedy ;) ENJOY!!! <3

When a series begins you expect a little backstory before you jump right on into the action... that's not the case here. You start off with the death of the Red Queen and the beginning of a summit to crown the next. This story focuses on Arianna an heir to the Red. She's extremely confident, bordering in arrogant, but she's very caring. She wants whats best for her people and knows how to execute. There is no intermixing of races between wolves and bears so it is ingrained in them that it's a big no which affects their attitudes towards each other. So how will things go once the bears come into play? And her past with a certain one?

I gave this 3 stars only because I didn't really like Arianna and her attitude. I also didn't like that it just jumped right into the story, it just wasn't for me. But after I got over that part the story itself and the way things play out is really good!

Queen Heir could quickly become a favorite in my library. The mix of shifters, political protocols, forbidden loves and intrigue is perfect for the first book in a series. Having read multiple series both from Jaymin Eve and the Jaymin and Leia duo, I am always happily amazed at how talented they are at setting up fresh stories and characters so that I never feel like I'm reading the same story set in different places.

I can't wait for the next book to find out more about the magic that is Arianna and Kade. I love how strong and smart Arianna is and how smoldering and considerate Kade is. This book was the perfect set up for future books, giving a glimpse into all the characters and potential subplots. The only negative for me was that it seemed like nothing was resolved in this first book. I always like to have at least one mystery resolved to make it feel like a complete book. But that might just be personal preference and not necessarily something to ding the review for.

Queen heir is an exciting new take on shifters and how their lives intermingle with other shifters and the human population. Arianna is the Queen heir to the throne of the red house, one of four heirs. She has the responsibility of overseeing her assigned New York City borough and her little sister until the day the Queen is killed. She now has to compete in the Summit against the three other heirs for the honor of becoming the Queen. During the summit, Arianna is also trying to find clues to who killed the previous queen. From the start, Arianna is on the move. She doesn't stop to mourn the queen because she was trained to be ready should anything happen to her . Someone from her past appears again which makes her question rules set forth by the council and why they are so controlling. I just loved the world imagined by these two authors. The Wolf shifters are ruled by women, yes! How could you not love that? I will be anxiously waiting for the next book!

Wow. This book was so different from all other books in the shifter or fae genres!! I love the Royal dynamic, and the way heirs become queens. I love that male and female are so identified by species. I love the interaction that's so foreign it's so forbidden makes it so delicious. I love the mystery that is unraveling like the layers of an onion. You solve one layer and then the next layer is waiting to take its place. I love the foreshadowing of future layers and how they seamlessly weave into the story, plot, and character development. I love Ari as a new kick butt heroine and the dynamic between her and all around her. The interactions are so different and that byplay really helps make her a rich character. I also love the mythos created for shifters and certain members of their community. I love the intrigue and secrets revealed and foreshadowed. IM SO EXCITED TO GET TO READ MORE!! MUST READ!!

The Red Queen who has been ruling for over a century suddenly dies and now the race begins where there are four heirs fighting to be queen and Arianna is one of them. She is determined to find out who killed the queen and makes it her mission to find out. she meets the King of the Bears, and he is rumoured that he wants to have peace between the bears and the wolves can she trust him?

This is a fantastic book, great storyline and great chemistry betweent the characters. Once you pick it up, you will have a hard time putting it down! I highly recommend that you read this and can't wait for second book.

Jaymin Eve & Leia Stone have written another gem of a book.

This is the first book in their new NYC Mecca series which they plan on releasing every three months (thank god as I hate waiting!) and what a starter to the series it was.
Just like the Hive series that Jaymin & Leia first wrote together, the story and words flowed together seamlessly. We have a spunky heroine who can stand up for herself and doesn't need a man to lean on, also she's Alpha of her wolf pack, and you've gotta love a book where the female is a strong alpha character. We also have a hot & mysterious alpha male to tease and tantalise us.
This is more of a YA friendly book with little swearing and it's an entertaining and intriguing story that I really enjoyed, now I can't wait to read the next in the series which is thankfully not that far away.

I truly enjoy Jaymin Eve's Books, reading Queen Hair who she teamed up with Leia Stone again reminded me of just how much I love both.
They truly know how to captivate me, not wanting to do anything else but read for hours ignoring all my duties as a Mom and Wife... :)
So let's see, Queen Hair starts out with a Wolf Shifter named Arianna waking up realizing the Queen has been murdered.
Being one of the 4 heiresses for the throne she has to Hunger game her way to the top. Of course while trying to beat her opponents she's also trying to figure out who's involved in the Murder. But what kind of story would this be without a Hunk of a Man, and one whos forbidden at that.

Can't wait to read Book #2
Enjoy, you won't be disappointed.
