Absolutely fantastic! I don't think that I could ever get enough of these characters. Especially Penny and Reagan. This is a fun action packed series. I can't wait until the next book. It would have been nice to know that I could have gotten it free on my KU two days after it was released before I paid for it on release day. It was worth it but I already pay for an account I shouldn't have had to pay extra when it wasn't necessary but the store did not tell that info.

While this story was technically decent, it lacked so much of what made the first one so brilliant. First, we spent over half the book with them apart and the reasoning never made a pick of sense to me. When he decided to come back even he was saying to himself what I said when he first ran off. So go drag her into your b.s. and get her, a complete novice and innocent in the Guilds crosshairs, then leave. Yeah that's the way to do what's best for her and protect her. If he had a really good reason, I would have on board, but the author just didn't give us that. . In addition the Penny from the first book was not to be seen here. She was a terrified little rabbit thorough the whole book. Even after he came back. I thought it was a result of their separation, but no, that self assured steady in the face of danger girl left the building before the author wrote this one. I just don't like this Penny. And for the rest core, this is a YA book. There was one almost kind sorta very YA sex scene. It was a real letdown. I am just one of those readers that find good sex scenes to be the thing that shows us couples at their most intimate and bare selves. It's a chance to see how they come together in passion, anger, joy, completeness. Just so many things that just can't be expressed in your everyday interactions. A couples true strength will always be what happens in their intimate moment together. Or what doesn't. Tenderness denominations, communications, love, passion. So much you will never see outside of those moments and it always leaves the reader feeling like the relationship is lacking. At least for me. It's why I don't read YA anymore, despite there being so many good ones out there. If a book has romance, it needs to give us all of it. It doesn't have to be overflowing the pages, as I want story too, but if you aren't selling a book as YA, then don't write it as one. I am hoping for more in the next book overall anyway.

I really wanted to title this "K.F. Breene Strikes again!" ... but I didn't think that would be helpful for anyone. Really though, this sequel was absolutely amazing - packed with adventure, and a healthy dose of laugh-out-loud comedy.
Penny is forced to take on the mages guild after they start amassing numbers in New Orleans. Her training without Emery around is complicated, to say the least. No one but Raegan can really figure out how to deal with her unpredictable nature. These girls together are unintentionally hilarious. I'm always afraid that reading a second series in the same book 'world' will be repetitive or boring, but that wasn't the case here at all. K.F. Breene does an amazing job at working in past characters in a way that leaves the focus on Penny's story line. This book was a fun, wild ride and I can't wait to read book 3!

Natural Mage, is the second book in a trilogy. It was well written. Lots of action. Characters that you saw briefly in the first book was brought back in the second. Which was very nicely done.
Penny is definitely a delightfully funny character. She seems to be woefully unprepared, yet willing to step up when needed. It was nice to see her become friends with someone that should be her polar opposite. Yet in retrospect they are more alike than you would think at first glance. I am pleased that Emery has finally deemed to make a reappearance as well.
A very nice summer read.

I could not put this book down. The story continues with Penny and Emery who are natural wages fighting a corrupt Guild. I would recommend reading the Fire and Ice series first as it leads into this story. We get to see more of Regan from this series. You have mages, witches, vampires and shapeshifters. What a great combo. We watch Penny and Emery fight against impossible odds. This book contains lots of sarcasm and humor. Can’t wait for the next in the series

Penny's antics and accidents as a natural mage just keep getting more amusing as this series goes on and throwing Reagan into the direct mix just made it 100 times better! This series truly has everything! Awesome action scenes, tons of humor, and a bit of romance as well. Plan on losing a whole day because once you start reading, you will not be able to stop! I wanted to keep reading once the book was over and I'm so ready for next!!

I loved reading more about Reagan from another’s point of view. When I read her books, I thought she was a badass that just followed the beat of her own drum, but it made sense. Reading from Penny’s point of view, Reagan seems like an insane badass and it fits! Honestly I loved the dynamic between Penny and Reagan far more than the romance in this book, but I am looking forward to seeing that dynamic grow and change in the next book!

So penny's adventure continues.
Loved Reagan and penny together.
They are a hoot. I can't wait for the next one.
I'm not so sure that emery holds me. His character just seems a little off. But definitely does sway me in the not gonna read direction... I love k.f. breene.
There is alot of funky fun new cuss words in here alot of action and alot of bumbling around. It was an entertaining read.

I cannot begin to express the wonderful complexity this author brings in the development of their characters. Somehow you are equally invested in so many characters that you cannot read the story fast enough. You have the traditional range of supernaturals, combined with the snarky, endearing principles that are as fascinating and complex as an old friend. While I believe you should read the Fire and Ice Series first to fully appreciate this book, Natural Mage stands perfectly on its own. Five stars. Can’t wait for the next one.

Having left Seattle and moved to New Orleans to improve her training, the reader learns the training is inadequate. The supernatural who found Penny takes over her training, and not too soon. Seems the adventures from the 1st book in this series carries to this book with a vengeance. Well worth the read and the action makes it hard to put down.

K.F. Breene can write, she brings an incredible story to life with humor, wit and a lot of moxie. If you haven't read Reagan's story, stop and read that now. Those three books will set you up to enjoy Penny's story all the more. Then after you've read this series go back and read everything that Breene has written. I love these books!

Absolutely love how balanced this book it. Just like the balance between penny and emery, oneness! The details portray incredible scenes, as if you are experiencing them for yourself. The humor and banter is quite hilarious for a book! Each character has their own story that is recognizable and entertaining! Love it

Another stupendous read by K.F. Breene in this follow up to the Natural Witch in the Magical Mayhem series!!
Penny has been left in the capable hands of Callie & Dizzy, a dual pair of mages, trying to train Penny the way they have been taught. But things don't go too well, their type of training doesn't seem right for Penny, since Emery left she has never found that perfect balance again, so Darius steps in and decides he will train her, by putting her in very real danger from newbie vampires and leaving her to defend herself!! A massive magical fight, fireworks, lots and lots of panic and running by Penny thus ensues. Penny ends up engaging an ancient vampire after she is roused from her rest by Penny's magic, she is so formidable that Darius and the rest of his vampire clan have to step in and defend Penny, with many casualties on their side!
So Penny ends up training and living with Reagan, fighting and learning to use her magic against Reagan's unique abilities. Emery returns on the scene after a premonition of Penny being hurt, and can't stay away, even though he feels he is not good enough for her. But as soon as he arrives, Penny's and Emery's magic combine and balance themselves out completely again, blissfully in harmony. They end up training together as the Mages are moving en-mass in an attempt to get to the Natural pair. Reagan, Emery and Penny end up pulling together fighting for their life in a massive battle against the Mages Guild.
A brilliant read, full of magic, mayhem and laugh out loud moments. This book has that perfect blend of everything, with its characters from her Fire and Ice Trilogy, it really does make an utterly compelling reading. Fantastic main characters, vampires, shifters, witches and mages with a side order of beautiful chemistry and sass in abundance, its an epic fantasy PNR read that I just couldn't put down - I can't wait for the final book in this series.
A wonderful 5 star read, one I can't recommend highly enough.

This is the 2nd book of Magical Mayhem Trilogy, which is the 2nd Trilogy in Breene’s DDVN (Demon Days & Vampire Nights) World (the 1st being Fire and Ice Trilogy). It’s better than the 1st book and I love that book. I couldn’t put this book down even at 2 in the morning.
Natural Mage picks up a few months after Natural Witch ended and Penny is staying with the Bankses (Callie & Dizzy) trying to learn more about being a Mage. Like most things with poor Penny they are not going so great. However Penny isn’t like a normal Mage and struggles with Callie’s way of teaching. So after an exercise with a newly turned vampire Darius decides to take over finding Penny a more suitable trainer. Then after a deadly dinner at Darius’ French Quarter home it is decided that Reagan will take over training Penny.
This is where the fun comes in. I love Reagan. (You can read her story in the Fire & Ice Trilogy) With Reagan & Penny now paired up Penny gets better with her magic and learns how to physically fight without magic. The back in forth between Reagan and Penny throughout this book had me laughing so hard my sides hurt. My Favorite banter between the two is when Reagan asks:
“ ”Want to be my Best friend?”
“No.”
“You’ll change your mind. I’m really fun.”
“No.” “
I don’t want to give any spoilers in this review but the major players from the 1st book are in the 2nd book. Secrets are revealed, love blossoms, an elder is awoken and the battle is just getting started. I Highly Recommend Reading this book and all of Breene’s writing, I’ll be reading it over and over and over until the final book comes out. Thank you K.F. Breene for writing such a great set of books and I don’t blame you at all for my sleepless nights.

Listen, I like Penny. She's quirky and fun. However, in this book, Reagan (from the Fire & Ice Trilogy) is back. And I LOVE Reagan. She is fiery and well, crazy actually. And the two of them together somehow works, even though I wouldn't have expected it to. It's a quick read, fun and has a lot of action. What's not to love?

"Natural Mage" is the second book in the Magic Mayhem trilogy set in KF Breene's DDVN world. It's the continuation of Penny's story, but we also get to reconnect with a certain female lead from the Fire & Ice trilogy. When these 2 ladies meet, sparks fly right out the pages. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I just say that in "Natural Mage", Penny gets to explore and learn her abilities with the help of Reagan's lead. Penny's journey is anything but smooth. Her lessons often result in dangerous, explosive, but also hilarious disasters. (A little side note to fans of Breene's Darkness series: you'll love it, it'll remind you a lot of Sasha and her intuitive, rather than intellectual approach to learning her trade.) I promise you, you'll end up laughing over the accidents and awkward situations that these characters have to go through. All the exercises in honing Penny's mage skills lead to an epic showdown in the end. Somehow I felt that Reagan stole the show here. I would have loved for Penny to be a pivotal factor in the final battle. But maybe she'll have her turn in the third book. I definitely found myself rooting for this lovely, little, powerful lady. Throughout the book, Penny's personality grew even more on me - she's a fabulous mix of toughness and softness, of naivete and wisdom beyond her age. I'm already looking forward to reading the next installment!

I really enjoy Ms. Breene’s novels and this one was fun too. What was odd is that there was less chemistry and heat between Penny and Emery than in book one. I would’ve expected it to increase as their relationship developed. It felt a little like a young adult novel.

And yet another amazing book from K.F. Breene Natural Mage is the follow on from Natural Witch in the Magical Mayhem series!! This brilliant read is full of magic and mayhem and you will find yourself laughing out loud. K.F is my go to author because she has such a natural talent for weaving a story that is so compelling that you never want to end. Who doesn’t love a paranormal story where all kinds of magical beings come together. With vampires and shifters, witches and mages and Reagan who has a wild side and enough sass and carefree attitude that you just love her and her ways.
Penny is in a fight for her life but first she must learn the tools of her trade and that is magic. As we see Penny and Reagan teaming up to prepare for a battle and fight for their lives against the Guild, fireworks explode and the fun begins
I highly recommend you grab this series and sit back and enjoy this wonderful ride. I can't wait for the next book in this series. This is more than a five star read.

This is a fun and slightly snarky paranormal, not centered around, but including a little romance. It’s better to read book 1 before this, and I recommend finishing the FIRE AND ICE trilogy first as most of the characters carry on between all of the books.
Penny is a mage, but hasn’t been trained because her mother lost her husband, Penny’s dad, due to problems in the Magic Guild.
Emory was raised a mage, alongside his brother in the Guild. His brother was murdered and he went into hiding from them.
When Emory and Penny met magical things happened that she doesn’t understand but they were able to work magic together.
In this book Penny is in New Orleans being trained by Callie and Dizzy but it’s not going well. Regan hook over her training and their style messed much better.
Emory has gone off because he doesn’t think he’s good for Penny and the Guild is after them both.
It’s a good light hearted story that will keep you entertained.

Poor Penny ! learning magic is hard and being raised super sheltered and blind to so much does not make learning any easier. Being trained by the dual mages have its benefits but also it's set backs. Mages have been trained the same way since forever but now there are two naturals and maybe "like always" and "but this is how it's always done" just doesn't cut it anymore. on top of that Penny is missing her partner in crime or better yet her natural mage.
Then Reagan gets the idea that well Penny needs a better sort of training more natural and well a whole lotta problems end up happening and on top of that the guild is hot on their tails!
So will Penny get her magic under control? will she see Emery again? this book just won't let you go! it's worthwhile every second it's witty sassy and fun. you get stuck on it real quick and I can't wait for more !! KF knocks the ball out of the park again !!

I love these books. Read the trilogy right through as quickly as I could. I’m a 44 year old married male with a 12 year old son... I don’t think I’m the target audience but I loved them. Fantasy, action, quirky female protagonist and a good dose of humor what’s not to like? Ok ok, so it might be a romance too but I skimmed those parts...

What could ever be wrong with more mayhem courtesy of Penny. This time around we see her polishing her mage skills but just lacking that certain spark she needs to really excel. Thanks to a certain vampire who has a vested interest in her we see our favorite alternative swearing Penny combined with the most awesome and no rules apply Reagan in some amazing action and banter. The two get along in the most oddly paired but fun partenership ever. With out giving spoilers know that favorites re appear and yes that does include Penny’s mother. Add in a very ancient Vampire, some evil Guild players and a spoonful of shifters who can’t seem to get enough of Penny and you have an amazing second book in a series which I can’t wait for another book in. KF Breene knocked this one out of the park.

Natural Mage is the sequel to Natural Witch and the second book in the Magical Mayhem Trilogy. This book is just as much of a riot as the first one. If you loved the first book and why wouldn’t you? - you’ll love this one. I 100% recommend this book.
I loved seeing Reagan, Callie, Dizzy, Darius, Moss, Marie, and even Reagan’s neighbors again. Reagan is most definitely back and with her fanny pack, oops I mean pouch.
The POV switched between Penny and Emery again in this book. Callie and Dizzy attempt to train Penny and when that goes wrong she gets tossed to Darius and when that goes wrong she gets tossed to Reagan. Poor Penny. Meanwhile, Emery is off trying to split the Guild up and keep Penny safe. Until he has a vision about Penny and doubts himself.
PS. I love seeing Penny coming into herself.

From start to finish, I loved this book! There wasn’t one strong female lead, there were two amazing females. I don’t know who I loved more. The star of the book was definitely Penny. She’s coming into her own as she trains in New Orleans to learn her craft and understand her magic. She starts with Callie and Dizzy Banks, but, after a mishap at Darius’s home, Reagan Somerset takes over Penny’s training. Under Reagan’s special brand of crazy, Penny grows into her own. Still, The Guild is out there and they want Penny, alive. They are secretly massing a force in New Orleans and planning her capture. Then Penny’s first love walks into New Orleans after being away for months and things get really interesting. Unpredictable and exciting to the end, as only a book with Penny and Reagan can be. One of the best sequels I’ve read in a while. I can’t wait for the third installment!

Wow, what a sequel! K.F.Breene has literally blown my mind with the second book in the Magic and Mayhem series. Natural Mage picks up where Natural Witch left off and it is a right cracker. Penny is coming along beautifully as a character. Emery is extremely loveable and Reagan is a hoot! I just could not stop laughing at her antics and her attitude. The action is so well portrayed you feel like you are in the thick of things. Darius is still stoic and proper with a soft side that only Reagan can pull from him. I could not put the book down. I am so looking forward to see how everything works out, I seriously can hardly wait for the next book.

The adventures of neophyte-natural-witch/mage Penny continue. In this book, Penny continues to hone her powers and practice her craft. Of course, this being Penny, this is easier said than done! Penny’s method of try-it-first and ask questions later results in the mayhem, hijinks, nd hilarious situations and dialogue. As expected, Emery is back to bring an extra magical and emotional zing to the story. And, surprise! Reagan plays a significant part in Penny’s adventure, adding her own brand of sassiness to any and all situations she encounters. There is action, emotion, and oh yeah, humor threaded throughout this tale. If you like laughing out loud because of something you read, you will love this book.
