This book picked right up where book one left off. The author writes about realistic characters that make mistakes. It was these mistakes that frustrated me to no end. Annika seemed to be overly jealous and Talvi was an over the top flirt. In the end, they learn that marriage takes work to thrive. I laughed alot at Talvi and Annika's friends and enjoyed reading this book despite my frustrations. Be forewarned that it has a cliffhanger ending that will leave you wanting to read the next book. I paid for this book because I couldn't wait to read after the first book in the series. That is how much I liked the series.

Compared to the first book, this one was so boring. At least the first one had a plot line. I stopped multiple times, but finally finished it. Hopefully, the third one will quicken back up because this one was brutal. The main characters relationship was giving me whip lash and I found myself hoping she would be with either Finn or Nikola, either would have been better than the childish crap that played out.

The Silver Thread
Annika Brisby Series Book Two
Emigh Cannaday
When the device blocking the gates between the worlds was broken, Annika was pulled back to Earth and away from her new husband Talvi. Now she's home, and everyone thinks she's crazy after listening to her stories of where's she's been for the last three months. Fairies? Elves? Mirror worlds? Yeah right!
And then Talvi, and his Fairy friend Chiavanni show up at her door, and suddenly she's not so crazy. But Talvi's still so secretive, and Annika realizes that they really don't know each other very well. Did she make a mistake marrying him? Yes, he thinks he was destined to marry her, but what about love? What does she really know about him, other than his wild, promiscuous reputation?
Talvi and Annika really have a lot to learn about each other. They jumped into marriage because of the prophecy in the last book and the very specific date it mentioned, and now find there's more to love and marriage than just having a ring on their fingers. I spent the whole book wanting to smack the both of them, and neither one of them really learned anything on their own. They had to be taught by other people. Forced growth, like being smacked in the head with a frying pan.
Still, the world building is wonderful, and I did enjoy the story. I look forward to the next edition to see where the cliff-hanger takes me.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for voluntary review consideration.

*I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily reviewing this. The ARC does not influence my review or my honesty*
So I started this once a long time ago, but I'd just finished the first book and was afraid of how this would turn out; relationship issues, family drama and some major heartache looked involved. After having just fallen in love with Talvi and his world, I really didn't feel ready to delve back into the world only to see it all torn away by insecurities and misunderstandings. Nothing makes my heart break more than misunderstandings!
As an individual book, I thought this was a really great and dramatic intake on Talvi and Annika's relationship. We go from full-on fantasy and epic adventures, where every page is a new journey, to the modern world and questions about "what happens when the story's over?" Annika was thrown from one side of Earth's twin world to the other. She's been through fantasies and dreams we all wish we could see fulfilled, and just when she thought she had it all, it was taken away and she was brought back to reality. Talvi going after her turned the second installment into a hardcore debate on what happens between two main characters when the magic is gone... Is there love still real? Was it ever a legit thing? Or was it just in the moment?
This really played with me because I love fantasy, and I thought I'd be turned off by the relationship being moved into the modern world, but I wasn't. Surprisingly, I was extremely into the drama and holding my breath whenever something stupid happened. See, a lot of these people will seem one way to me, but then they change, and I get irritated or annoyed, but then something else happens, and suddenly they're not just characters that aren't satisfying me: they're real people, and THAT freaks me out. I absolutely love the author's ability to make me feel so confused about how much I love this. The writing style is perfect, and though a little lengthy in comparison to the other fast reads I've come across, it's personally, truly a perfect fit. I could read every word and not be bored at all. It's a lucky thing for me, to have found an author I click with.
Plot wise, it really was all about the romance between the newlyweds, but I did like how there were some chapters of other POVs that continued to keep the overall plot rolling. At times I thought they seemed random, but by the end of the book, it seriously got me thinking about what the author was up to.
I enjoyed the drama, because the characters learned from it and became better people. There are a few I'm not holding my breath over, but right now, as long as my mains are okay, I'm okay. Definitely a recommended read if you love fantasy, romance, drama, flirtatious and seriously misunderstood elves, stubborn MCs and a writing style you could get lost in.

I received an advance reader copy and an audiobook and volunteered to review the story.
The Silver Thread audiobook has the same great voice actor as The Flame and the Arrow! Talvi and Annika come together again but they discover that love takes work and they seem to have a lot more to deal with while they are staying with her brother and their friends. Being married and realizing they need to rely on and and share with each other is difficult for both of them. At times, I became annoyed at Talvi and even Annika because they didn't seem to be trying to care for and be there for each other. Finn is amazing and selfless and he and his father straighten Talvi out. I thought the punishment Ambrose set for Talvi was priceless, including the conversation Ambrose conducted with Talvi while he was digging, not realizing that Annika was there the whole time overhearing everything, just as Talvi's father planned. The cliffhanger ending is intense! 5 stars for the wonderful, flowing writing of Emigh Cannaday and for her creative fantasy world, prophecies and all!

Stunned. Stunned. Stunned…..I have to say it three times because it’s how I truly feel after reading the second book in The Annika Brisby Series.
Annika was whisked (more like sucked) back into her dimension, leaving Talvi alone. For three months, they both walked along in their own worlds, depressed because of their separation. Annika is considered slightly crazy by her family considering she had disappeared without a trace for several months only to suddenly appear in the middle of France, rambling about her misadventures in Talvi’s world.
The book shifts among their story, Talvi’s former elf now vampire twin sister Yuri and her lover Constantine’s trysts, and Annika’s elf family member who is finally re-discovering love herself. The only downside I saw with this one is it barely touched the other two side-stories compared to Talvi and Annika’s own. BUT there is a great lesson in this book that I believe all couples should take to heart. Sappy, I know, but trust me on this!
As I sit here patiently awaiting for Emigh Cannaday to release her third book, I am literally shaking from the ending of this last book. Many have compared the second book to be slower than the first and I have to slightly agree. Yes, it was slower, however to me, I think the author did it so readers could capture the lesson.
Communication, truthfulness, thoughtfulness, sacrifice, and proving ones love is hard when you barely know your partner like in Talvi and Annika’s situation. It takes a true couple to battle through the remains of past sins and current circumstances in order for love to bloom. It’s a slow process and that’s how I compare it to the pace of the second novel. Much like the battle and growth of a marriage, relationship, or even friendship-it takes time.

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~
I am so glad that I have stepped outside my comfort zone to read such a great genre. There is more mystery and strange things happening in this book than I thought could be in a book. Now that the group is back from their journey, there is much needed honeymoon time. But, while they are attempting to cohabitate with one another, Annika and Talvi discover things about each other that they don't like.
Emigh's second book in the series picks up right where The Flame and the Arrow left off. Only this time, you get a glimpse into what goes on with some of the other characters. I laughed at certain parts in this book, I also got a little teary eyed. Again, Emigh's writing is amazing. She has a way with the words that make them dance off of the page. She really grabs a hold of you and makes sure that she doesn't let you go. I can't wait until the 3rd book comes out!!

While the first book in this series was all about figuring out how to survive in a strange, and sometimes terrifying, land, The Silver Thread deals with the aftermath of such an adventure. Annika returns to a world that should feel safe and familiar, but now she doesn't know her place in it. When Talvi shows up, it just reinforces how out-of-sync Annika has become. Their relationship mirrors this discord, with Talvi keeping secrets and Annika retreating farther away from any life. This book is engaging, witty, heartbreaking, and beautifully realistic in its depiction of the trials of young love (even if the two lovers aren't quite human). The Flame and the Arrow was adventure and intrigue, while The Silver Thread is reality with a fanciful twist. Well worth your time.

The Silver Thread- book two in the Annika Brisby series by Emigh Cannaday is a healthy dose of reality.
Warning:
Not a stand alone, Book one The flame and the arrow must be read before this novel to fully understand the complexity of the characters and the situations they find themselves in.
The Silver Thread starts off where book one ended and we find ourselves following the intricate journey of Annika and Talvi, from world to world as they struggle through their relationship troubles.
Jealousy, insecurities and hard labor force them to confront their personal issues, but will it be too late? Both love to hate each other and push each other into the depths of rage- can they put their tick for tack mentality behind them long enough to move forward?
Talvi is a secretive flirt while Annika has turned into an insecure nagger. She wants the whole truth and nothing but the truth but some secrets are better left untold.
Will Talvi save his relationship by opening up or will he push her into the arms of another man?
Emigh Cannaday’s world building skills are amazing, the plot is captivating and it makes you want to keep flipping pages. Spell binding and irresistible.

Talvi and Annika thought they went through a lot to be together when they were stuck in Talvi's home world but they had no idea just how hard it would be once they were back in hers.
After being suddenly ripped apart at the end of the last book Talvi quickly takes up the search to find his wife again and that search leads him to her home town of Portland. Though it's not exactly the happy reunion he had in mind.
This book did a complete 360 from book one. I have to say Annika's attitude through a good chunk of the book kind of got on my nerves and Talvi was no prince either. It was like they were completely different people. But once Talvi's father gave them both a good talking to things started to work out. Being set mostly in our world threw me for a bit of a loop at first but once I got used to the differences I really enjoyed the story. I especially loved the visit back with Talvi's family and even though the characters aren't perfect I like seeing them work through their problems with each other. And with the crazy twist thrown in at the end I can't wait to find out what happens next! In my opinion The Silver Thread is definitely recommended.

This book explores much more of the dynamic between Talvi and Annika's relationship. There is much angst, frustration, tears, romance and hormones (no spoilers) in this installment. And what a hornet's nest has been stirred up. Finn's role was, OMG what the hell! Learning a lot more about Talvi, he becomes the guy you'd love to hate but can't because he's surprisingly profound and romantic at the most unexpected of times. You cannot help but sympathizing with Finn because he just seems like such a sacrificial lamb. But I think this particular event (again I'm not giving you no spoilers!) might just be the straw that breaks the camel's back, because Finn's words as Talvi and Annika are departing are just too sinister for the Finn that we've come to know and love. Not too much about Yuri and Konstantin but considering the closing chapters show a trip to Prague, something is definitely up and they're involved.

I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it and WOW! I enjoyed it tremendously! Emigh's writing style is beautiful and easy to read. The plot is beautifully composed with high and low notes, sharps and flats, to finally produce a stunning symphony of characters. There were times where I wanted to smack both Annika and Talvi! The first few emotional rollercoaster months of marriage are accurately described on my opinion. If you enjoyed the first book, I strongly recommend this next one. Talvi is now in Annika's neck of the woods and things becomes sticky.... I recommend reading the series in order, otherwise it won't make much sense.

This is my second venture into the writings of Emigh Cannaday and I found it to be a better written, more well thought out story than the first book in the Annika Brisby series. This story flowed better and I enjoyed the interaction between the more limited set of characters. The book held my interest and I read through it pretty quickly.
It puzzles me how Annika and Talvi can be so 'in love' when they are only at the end of this book beginning to be open and honest? with each other. They don't really know each other! They run so hot and cold that it is hard to keep up! A few things in the book really bothered me. This book was originally published in 2012, long after the dangers of smoking and fetal alcohol syndrome were known. I think it is highly irresponsible to portray smoking and drinking while possibly pregnant, especially when part of your audience are impressionable young girls. And the idea that they have to be vegetarians and must eat only organic just doesn't fly with the smoking and drinking thing. I also must have missed something because I can't figure out why if Annika had married Finn she would not have become an elf but she did when she married Talvi.
The characters are finally taking on some depth and I feel like I'm getting to really know them. I think this is due to keeping the number of characters to a reasonable few. It wasn't until the last quarter of this book that I really started to see Talvi's motivation and an explanation for his behavior though. I at least feel like I like the characters now; I wasn't sure how I felt about them at the end of the first book. I absolutely love Chivanni! Talvi's sense of humor was much more apparent in this book. Talvi's selfishness and dark side have been in view through both books but I think that there will be a dark side to Finn at some point in the future, which saddens me. From what I've read so far, he always seems to get the short end of the stick and that can't be good for one's ego. I love the Finn character!
All in all, I enjoyed the book and if you read the first one, you must read this one! It will leave you hanging at the end, but it's ok since the next book is published already! I will be moving on to the third book, though I cheated and read some of the reviews and I don't think I'm going to like the ending!

Honestly, this book was slower paced than the first book. It took me a couple of days to get into it, and about 60% through it really started to pick up;I couldn't put it down.
This book felt like it's sole purpose was to bridge the gap between the first story line and build towards something phenomenal. The cliff hanger was amazing and I can't wait to read the next in the series. I would recommend reading this series if you like laugh out loud fantasy stories with a bit of romance.
I deducted one star for the slow start.

I especially loved the visit back with Talvi's family and even though the characters aren't perfect I like seeing them work through their problems with each other. And with the crazy twist thrown in at the end I can't wait to find out what happens next! In my opinion The Silver Thread is definitely recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and volunteered to review it.

I am in love with this series, between laughing out loud in my living room so my husband looks at my funny and sitting on the edge of my seat with then tension between Annika, Finn, and Talvi.i am def. team Talvi. The fact that Annika and Talvi are so madly in love it amazing, but it has me wishing they would have put each other first when the other was trying.. but it seems that their destinys are so deep that they cannot see around it!! I love their makeups and bickering!! I cannot wait to see what is in store for the people who took her cause I see Talvi putting some his assassin skills to great use in the next book and I cannot wait to read it happen!! Keep up the emotional rollercoaster it's amazing!! I borrowed these books to read on my spare time and could not put them down!! This is the first review I have wrote on a book and it is well worth the time!! She is a great author and I hope one day these books will become movies!!

I received this book from the author from a previous unbiased review. Although a review was not expected, I am giving another on this book.
It was definitely not what I was expecting. It started out with Talvis' point of view. Then it seemed like just another good story. Once you got to the middle, wham, totally changes course. I couldn't stop reading. Mostly develops the characters story in this book, their relationships all the way around. Towards the end, well you just have to read it yourself. I cannot wait until the 3rd installment in May. I love finding new authors :)

I loved it! there is a lot of anger and mistrust throughout the book between Tavlvi and Annika, which I totally understand when you only have half the facts and a flirtatious husband. After their hasty marriage they get to experience what it Truely means to be married. During the story you get to know Finn a bit more and by the way... he's my favorite character . From book one I had this sense of feeling that he cared deeply for Annika but I got the sense it was maybe a one-sided thing but now after reading this I'm not to certain. I laughed quite a bit during some of the arguments and remarks they made and it makes this story all the more special.FIVE STARS looking forward to reading the next book to see whats up with this new character coming into play

Wisconsin author Emigh Cannaday has been around from Paris to Portland. Emigh’s young years were spent drawing, painting, and writing down her elaborate daydreams that focus on nature, intuition, and a bit of magic. In addition to writing she co-hosts the Wine Wars podcast, a show dedicated to wine and Star Wars!
Originally written in 2012 as Book 2 in her The Annika Brisby Series, the book is now available to the larger audience enjoying Kindle books. It is apparent from the first chapter that this is no ordinary romance novel – and as a matter of fact it is difficult to place it and any particular genre – perhaps mythological, fantasy, sci-fi with a parallel universe with ogres, fairies, elves, vampires, wood nymphs and druids, all woven with a real life.
Given this book is a continuation of Book 1 The Flame and the Arrow (and hopefully the reader has the opportunity to start with that book) Emigh’s brief synopsis offers just the right amount of seduction to magnetize any reader: ‘Talvi Marinossian has slain maenads and fought off vampire attacks, but nothing has prepared him for getting involved with one of these forbidden 'Modern Girls'. When he finally tracks down Annika it's obvious that she's changed since her recent adventure in his homeland. It's also clear that she's not ready to embrace the next chapter in her life. He tries to persuade her to open up to him, but she finds it difficult since he won't even explain how he earns a living, why he has a secret cell phone, or the reason he keeps another woman's handkerchief in his pocket. Instead of relying on Talvi to help her adjust, Annika delves into her music and her job, and it isn't long before the new lovers find themselves completely out of sync with one another. Just when they start to find their rhythm, Talvi is called away on business and whisks Annika off to Paris for what is supposed to be a working vacation. But one bad decision leads to another, and the chaos that ensues may cost someone their life.’
Emigh’s particular form of fantasy and paranormal romance…works! That is the best we can take away form this her second novel. She has an intuitive sense of where she want to conjoin fantasy with reality, transcending time barriers with ease, and never letting the flow of the novel pause for lack for propulsive action. It is exciting, sensitive, and sweet. The story weaves its own spell and tosses in enough erotica to keep the flames burning. A fine paranormal romance adventure - and to say anymore would spoil the ride! Grady Harp, May 16

"The Silver Thread" by Emigh Cannaday is book two in the "The Annika Brisby" Series. This continues the story of Talvi and Annika. So I would say if you haven't read the other book I called" The Flame and the Arrow" then I would. Also know that this does end with another cliffhanger to continue their story further.
This picks up their story where they have be separated and dealing with that and how to get back together in the same realm. It also covers how much they actually changed while dealing with the separation. This covers them going forward and also enters a new issue for them being together.
This has been an exciting series that is hard to put down I must say!

The continuing story of Talvi and Annika was just not what I expected. I wanted to see more of the journey and the trials and tribulations of Talvi as he searched for his wife. Instead we get them from the ground and gone. It's wonderful though to see another "fairy" in Annika's world. I really love how everyone gets along, especially her parents, with Talvi. The journey that Finn takes in this story is not my favorite, but the love of Talvi and Finn's father, Ambrose, is so heart-warming. I can see why his wife married him! I am ready for more, but just hoping for more adventure, and yes, keep the loving thoughts and the workings of a marriage!

Disclosure - I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is my review of “The Silver Thread” by Emigh Cannady.
This story should be rated R for Drugs (Opium use, Pixie Dust & Tobacco) some language & sexual themes. I would give it 4 stars, 5 if the controversial scenes were taken out.
This is the 2nd story of the series and I’m mixed on it. Overall, I am pleased with it.
Basically, it continues the story of two very interesting characters. 1st there is Annika Marinossian. After leaving her potential fiancé, she meets her destined husband and lover, Talvi Marinossian. Annika has insecurities and blatant trust issues with her new husband, who finds her roughly 3 months after she disappears through the portal.
Talvi is the enigma. The first question when thinking of Talvi is if you were virtually immortal, what would your life be like after living 300 years? Second question, if you were very well aware that a prophesy has been made that you with marry your true mate on the eve of the anniversary of your conception, how much planning for your future together would you do? And he knew exactly what she would look like.
So, for most of his adolescence going forward, he has made it a point to be a womanizer and seducer of great skill that for the last 70 years it has been his governmental job. Talvi is definitely rich and spoiled rotten, it seems everyone had fears about his prophecy. He also takes a very focused approach to life. All told, though, he is not prepared himself for love or marriage.
This is a story revolving around the two characters trying to figure things out while most of the story takes place on Earth. I really wished for more time with Annika's parents and not the quick memory wipe. Also, wished dialogue was different between Annika and Danny.
This story in parts of it very actually very funny and had me in stitches. But there is also a possible controversial scene and aftermath where Annika goes into heat and doesn’t even know anything about it until her babysitting brother-in-law has to tell her. So, instead of contacting Talvi, Finn takes her to an Opium den in order to keep themselves from becoming parents. Sad part is Finn knows better and how Talvi will react. Too be honest I hated these couple of chapters and these chapters probably hurt the story the most.

Like some of the reviews I have very mixed feelings about this book and have waited a few days to think this through before posting my review. Partly because I was so transported and also because I'm still digesting it due to it not being a one sitting read. Note that it ends on a cliff hanger - however, this is a series so should not put you off if you are invested in this journey.
And then there is Finn. If I have to choose one of these for myself it will surely be Finn. I'm very much looking forward to the next book although from the reviews I've read I'm going to be devastated and not sure I can manage to wait till 2017 for the next book so might read them closer together. Thanks for my copy.

The Silver Thread is even better than the previous book. The characters develop more, the plot gets more interesting and everything is building up. Emigh shows a deep understanding on many things, she is well informed on many and varied subjects ( see the history of the catacombs). Her writing is intense yet pragmatic. She can talk about everyday small details like cleaning and also soar to global issues.I would describe her writing as realistic fantasy even if such a description sounds oxymoron. I definitely recommend the book to those you like the specific genre, they will not be disappointed. I was given this book in exchange for my opinion and I am looking forward to the next one.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book and boy am I glad I did! This book was amazing! The way the last book ended with Annika and this one picked up it makes me just want to keep reading. I get so lost in the world that when the book ends I forget that I live in this world LOL! I get carried away to another place and I love the points of view of Talvi and Anika and how they are portrayed in this book. Emigh Cannaday's writing is fantastic! One of the best writers of the year! Definitely a best seller in my book!

After reading the first book, I couldn't help but agree to read this for free as long as I gave my honest opinion!! I really like this book, but unlike the first book, Annika is portrayed to be weak and Talvi just has no clue(lol). Although this book has less action than the first, it is still wonderful, I even fall in love with the characters over and over throughout the entire book.

The second book in the Annika Brisby series, The Silver Thread will tie your heart in knots as the whirlwind romance between Annika and Talvi turns into a tornado.
In the beginning we find Talvi has spent months fighting his way to get back to his beloved's side, and now that he's there he wonders if she'll still have a place for him by her side as well as in her heart.
Whereas Annika has been drowning her sorrows in liquor, her only comfort after telling her family and friends about her time away, unfortunately they think that she's lost her mind. Now that Talvi has returned, she wonders if they could possibly work as husband and wife.
*** SPOILER ALERT *** Any information below this point may/will contain spoilers! Skip now if you want to maintain the mystery.
They find themselves more at each other's throats than by the others side. Annika concerned about Talvi's past history with women, wondering why he's gotten a secret locked cellphone and leaving her for an equally secret job that he won't tell her about. Talvi want's nothing more than for her to trust him, but as always he lashes out rather than soothing the ruffled feathers of his little dove.
Talvi is summoned away for work, leaving Finn to guard over his beloved wife. Finn, trustworthy and reliable as always, comforts Annika while Talvi is away. She finds herself wondering if she chose the right brother.
*** THE REVIEW ***
Emigh writing continues to keep me drawn in throughout the book, turning page by page and losing myself in the story. I never wanted to put it down. When I finished the book I was immediately ready to get right to the next one but I must write the review first!
The characters personalities have stayed true throughout the series, although the book is primarily surrounding Annika's family, Talvi, Chivanni, and Finn. I can see both Annika's and Talvi's frustrations and feel where they are coming from when misunderstandings happen. I loved that Chiavanni is the winged fairy, and that James is the wingless fairy. Chiavanni continues to be as adorable in the second book as he was in the first, although his character takes a step forward in a more prominent role. Finn, well I want to hug him and love him all at once; he's torn between being the new brother and law and feeling the same attraction for Annika as Talvi does. He's being torn in two, he knows the right thing to do, but is that the right thing for him too?
I'm ready to step into The Scarlet Tanager, but my heart is breaking wondering if it will be the last in its series, or will we continue to be delighted by what Emigh has up for us next?

The Silver Thread picks up right where the first book left off. Talvi has found Annika after 3 months of searching. Unfortunately, Annika doesn't seem that thrilled to see him. She is distant and busy trying to fit back into the life she had before meeting Talvi. This in turn makes Talvi wonder if Annika regrets marrying him. Annika is concerned that her “Casanova” can never settle down with her but will always be looking for the next female to bed. Talvi feels that Annika is not the same woman that he married. Add in a bunch of secrets on both of their ends, plus Talvi trying to fit into a world that he doesn't belong in, and you have a recipe for disaster.
First off, there may be some mild spoilers ahead.
Honestly, I didn't like this book near as much as the first one. Annika comes off as cold, unfeeling, and worried only about having everything exactly the way she wants it. Talvi flirts with every woman possible and vacillates between being a lap dog and a jerk. There is also much more cursing (foul language) in this book than in the first one.
Also, as two of the more important characters (friends of Annika's and Talvi's, but important in this book) are gay, there are a lot of references and innuendos. Personally, I prefer if books offer a disclaimer when this becomes a prominent issue in the book.
I love Finn, but hate to see a love triangle come about. The whole Paris trip was uncomfortable at best. Talvi seems like a major let-down after seeing how Finn interacts with Annika. Both Talvi and Annika seem greatly changed from the first book.
There wasn't much action in this book until the very end. The majority of the story is spent with Annika and Talvi going back and forth at each other. One minute, they have forgiven one another and are in love, the next minute, someone is flirting or saying something totally devastating to the other person.
With all of that being said, at the end of the book, I did see why The Silver Thread is set up the way that it is. It develops the characters much more thoroughly and leaves us with a cliffhanger of an ending. I loved the first book, tolerated the second one, but I have high hopes for book number 3.

I'm really loving this series, it's not predictable and that's so refreshing! I can identify with a lot of what Annika is feeling, you know that feeling you get when you're angry because the character is angry and you understand why??? I can't wait to see where the next book takes us. I can't predict what will happen and I LOVE that, it's always disappointing to me if I know how the story will play out from the beginning. I have only one problem, where is my hunky elf?

First Off, OMG!!! Just finished and All I can say is OMG. Love the plot. Annika and Talvi really don't get each other but it's obvious that they do love each other. They just need to learn about each other. And I love the supporting characters. Major Cliffhanger ending and am already dying to read the next one when it comes out.

The Silver Thread: Dark Urban Fantasy Paranormal Romance (The Annika Brisby Series Book 2)Not as action packed as the first novel. I found book 2 to be a bit of an interlude building up for the 3rd novel. You can't help but love Talvi! Spoilt and arrogant but his heart is in the right place. I love that the characters are not all sweet and sugary but have some backbone to them. Can't wait to dig into book 3.

The silver thread by Cannaday - an honest review of a free book. What an interesting story. It's rather lengthy but never dull as we are introduced to Annika and the elf, Talvi. These two are married and we lurch from one disaster to another as they try to find common ground. Annika shares a house with three others and later, a fairy. We are also transported to Talvi's world and how they operate. Talvi's brother, Finn, also plays a part in Paris. The ending segues into the next story.

I really liked the complexity of the characters and worlds and for this being a fantasy book the situations seemed like they could happen. However I didn't like it as much as the first book. I felt like it contained a lot of information that was repeated a lot and could have been condensed, making a long book feel long. Even though I liked the complexity of the characters, their personality seems quite different than the first book.

I received a free copy of this book for voluntary review consideration.
I read the first book and thought it was amazing, got sucked right in and didn't want to stop reading. So I review the book to get the next one asap and read the second one just as fast! I love the characters and their relationship they have with each other. They react in realistic ways I stead of the just ideal ways makin the story even more appealing. This story was a little slower for me just because I felt Annika was being slightly childish in her accusations, but I also understand where she is coming from. Eitherway the spicy love story and action along with the great story line makes me anxious to read the next book! This is definitely a series you don't want to put down once you pick it up!

I received this audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book picks up where the first book ended. Annika is depressed by being thrown back into the real world where no one believes her story. Talvi crosses worlds to find her. Very romantic gesture!
Annika's personality still drives me crazy but I had come to expect that with the first book. It's annoying that one moment she's all over Talvi and the next she's accusing him of being unfaithful...again.
But I really did enjoy this book. The voice acting is incredible. The story is great and kept my interest. I especially like the scene with "the song." The entire time in Paris was...interesting. Don't want to give anything away. And I liked that we get to see Talvi's family again and learn more about his background.
And it's another cliffhanger! I can't wait to read the third book to find out what happens.
