This book was good, but different from it's predecessors. We didn't see Ursula's origin in full and the story was focused elsewhere, as another reviewer already said. The ending also felt like an intro to something more, despite repeatedly being sighted as the end of the series. I feel a bit underwhelmed, if not dissatisfied.

I ordered this and maleficents book and both books came extremely dirty with hand prints all over both covers. Considering I bought them brand new and they're meant for display purposes this is upsetting and disgusting.

After reading this book in the series, I finally see that the storyline and plot have nothing to do with the Disney villains. The titles are very misleading and a reader can assume that the book would be solely about the William's side of the story. The plot twists in the series is interesting with ties ins to the classic Disney tales.

Book #4 Read in 2017
Poor Unfortunate Soul by Serena Valentino
This is the last book in the Disney villain trilogy. This book focuses on the backstory of Ursula, the sea monster from The Little Mermaid. It deals of her deal with Ariel and how she gets Ariel's voice and why Ursula is so angry. The weird sisters play a role in this book as they have in the other books. A good read, I borrowed this book from the town library.

Amazing story! I love the background it gave that ties in well with not only The Little Mermaid film but the Broadway musical as well! After reading the previous two books I’m order, this book just ties in amazingly and I can’t wait to read the next one!! It gave insight into not only Ursula but the fairytale world around her and how she is connected to other villains. Deep respect to the author for writing a series solely on villains. If I assumed hints correctly, Hades might eventually have his own book too and that I would love!!

This book is the equivalent of a bad fanfic mixed with a poorly written episode of Disney Channel's "Mickey's House of Villains". As a child I loved The Little Mermaid and I loved Ursula! This book has little to do with Ursula and everything to do with the author's deceased cat and her fictional characters. The book reaches beyond the traditional story, as in it barely touches on it, in favor of a larger mythical world of the author's own creation and the characters of such rather than exploring the one we know and love. If you think you're going to get a fascinating exposé on Ursula and her dark origin story, keep your cash in your wallet because you didn't find it. You'll read about a fictionalized cat, three odd sisters and a host of additional characters who take the lead while Ursula is barely a supporting role. All in all--it's a meager attempt at fiction with a VERY MISLEADING title and description.

The author shoe-horned a character named Ursula and some references to "The Little Mermaid" into an otherwise unrelated witches and brimstone story. Which isn't even that good a story. So if you're a fan of that movie, this book may feel like a bait and switch.

Disappointed with story. Thought it was mainly going to be about Ursela's back story but wasn't. The focus was on the other characters the author created. Little annoyed about how involved the cat character was. The book is deadicated to the author's cat who died. The author's cat had the same name as the cat in the story Which makes me think why the cat had an important role in the story. Valentino's best book was Fairest of them All.
