I really liked this book. I'm picky about character development, grammar and plot consistency - and this book did not disappoint me! I read this on holiday and couldn't put it down. I loved the storyline and intricate details that weaved the characters together and the way the author built up to but left the answers until the end. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this trilogy.

This book quickly pulled me in with its interesting characters and mystery. It has characters with depth and wonderful, detailed storytelling that paints a picture of each setting. Makes me want to read more and more!

This author is off to a great start.
Intriguing concept! Nice cover. Engaging style. I liked the characters... The author did a lot right. She knows her grammar too.
BUT...
I really wanted to give this book one or two stars because I feel this is an early draft of what could be a great book and series. But I felt that to do so would hurt the book's rating and this talented debut author's feelings.
For me the the huge thing was that the plot was off. It was slow because there wasn't enough conflict. Yes, the concept is good, but this author needed to dig deeper into her characters and their motivations and the antagonist to ring this reader's emotional bells. Not much happened. Lena doesn't know who she is. She meets the other lost children. She sense danger. She gets jealous. Then a character turns up and explains everything.
Maybe I'm picky, but for me that is not enough.
This plot needs for the characters to have strong desires and conflicting goals driving each one of them. Then more things could happen. I don't really know who these characters are because the are never forced to reveal themselves or grow through conflict. If they had goals driving them and tacked obstacles confronting them and I knew what mattered to them that would give me a start in getting to know them.
I like the story idea but feel that the characters and plot lack development.
I don't like writing a negative review. But if this is book 1 of a series I feel it needs to be stronger.
I recommend Dwight Swain's book on plotting. Maybe take a look at Michael Hauge's ideas about story and character. .

I feel like an addict. I just finished this book, and I can't wait to start the next. Thank goodness it's out, I don't know what I would do if I had to wait! I am so invested in these characters. I have to know what happens to them. The writing is very well done and the story just draws you in and won't let go. The character development is so good, with no back story you learn about everyone as they learn about themselves. I didn't think I would enjoy that as much as I did. The dialogue was well done and natural. These are people I could easily know and like. Don't start this book if you don't have time to finish it because you won't want to it it down! If you like a well written story with compelling characters and an intriguing plot this is a book for you.

The story had potential but the characters just fell short. The writing seemed a bit amateur (I know she's an Indy author but her other series is spectacular so this one just didn't hold up to the other one) Lena was too immature a lot of times and Flint was too possessive. They seemed like kids trying to be grown up. I just didn't really buy the characters. Bummed with this one. But if you read it and think the same thing, don't give up on the author because her other series is amazing! You'll love it!

A very enjoyable book. 8 young adults are drawn to a town in Colorado. They each have an enhanced ability.Lena sees auras. They all have a tattoo on their wrist but each is different. None of them are able to remember anything from 4 months ago when they woke up in different cities. Discovering who they are and why they were drawn together is this first book in the series. It really kept my interest from the first page to the last. I'm looking forward to reading the next book of the series

I normally steer clear of young adult or new adult books because being 33 with 4 kids, I have no desire to go back to those years and the “kids” in those books normally annoy the crap out of me. ? but it didn’t Happen with this book, they all seemed older and the story is great! I can’t wait to read the rest of the books!

Inventive twists and turns to the plot line. The characters are likeable and persuasive, overall leading to a very enjoyable book. The only problem I found was that it was a little slow. Not slow, slow, but just a tiny bit. Somehow, at that speed ... I find it a very good read. And, yes I will read the next one.

Eight souls meet after being drawn to Raven, Colorado, each with a unique gift and each with no memory of their past lost at the same time. They are all awakened in a room with funds to live on except Lena. Spell binding mystery, that should not be missed.

Good enough that I'll continue reading the series. Would be a 5 if it it didn't perpetuate the dangerous ideals that it's okay to be mean or indifferent to someone you care about, and intense jealousy is sexy. These ideals do nothing more than make it even harder to recognize and escape abusive situations. The book does not benefit from them and the readers certainly don't.

I really enjoyed this book. The writing was well crafted and the characters had very distinct personalities. I'll be reading the next book. I think there were points in the book that could have been more suspenseful. Otherwise a pretty amazing read.

I enjoyed reading this book. The entire premise is intriguing. I was hoping for something a little different when the memory loss was explained but that’s my own expectations failing me, not the story. Excited to read the next installment.

Interesting read. Probably more aimed at the twenty-something reader than any other audience but still enjoyable. Worth the few hours it took to read.

Could use some better character development but this is the first book in a trilogy so that may be further on.

I really did enjoy reading this book. It starts out with Lena and her not knowing anything but her name. She even usually meets others and while we never get answers till the very end, the story kept my attention the whole time.

This story pulled me in from the first sentence. Soft ending with a slight cliffhanger. Loved all of the different characters and their interactions. I would consider this as a YA or adult mystery with a little science and psychology.

The words flowed smoothly.the believability was .there.the strong bond between all of them helped.I'm not sure what Amber added at first but then it came together why she was important.I look forward to reading more.

Good story idea but the writing was painful to read. And then, if you do happen to suffer through the whole book, there is no real ending. It just drops you. I know it’s the first in a trilogy but if you’re not going to give me some kind of wrap up, then just write a really long book.
