Review:Bought this book to read to my daughters, ages 6 and soon to be 2. I like the story immensely, as it illustrates to them that not everyone is as economically fortunate as we are, but are still loved and are good people. Review:Summary: A bear finds a pick-up truck filled with berries, eats them all, then promptly falls asleep. He wakes up in the city, where he smells interesting smells, finds fun places to climb and play, and eventually discovers a sandwich that he eats. Review:While it's no "Goodnight Moon," there is something still entrancing about the prose in "The Big Red Barn." Some of the wording is awkward, but the story is nice (life in the barn from morning to night, cute animals!), and the board version is perfectly sized for small hands.
