Forgotten: Book #1 in The Lost Children Trilogy
Forgotten: Book #1 in The Lost Children Trilogy

Review:I really liked this book. I'm picky about character development, grammar and plot consistency - and this book did not disappoint me! I read this on holiday and couldn't put it down. I loved the storyline and intricate details that weaved the characters together and the way the author built up to but left the answers until the end. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this trilogy. Read more

Under the Empyrean Sky (The Heartland Trilogy Book 1)

Review:*Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.*

“That’s life in the Heartland.”

What’s life in the Heartland like? Monster corn that isn’t even safe to eat is the only crop that isn’t outlawed, floating cities above that treat the Heartlanders like slaves, and having your spouse chosen by the Empyrean government even if you’re in love with another. Life in the Heartland seems to be a s***ty existence. Of course you can always hope you w... Read more

Review:Wow - young adult books have changed a lot since I was a young adult (don't ask how many years that has been). Or maybe there just weren't too many young adult books and I moved on to adult books. Either way I think that it's wonderful that there are so many young adult books out there for adults and teenagers to choose from. So - I heard about this series and wanted to read it. The first one was definitely interesting. It seems so different from how it was when I was a teenager, but then a... Read more

Review:The book is interesting and entertaining the whole way through. One thing that was a challenge to get used to was the fact that there was no dialogue. There were conversations within characters, however no distinctive quotations. It read's as if Daisy, the main character, were sitting in front of you to tell the story. Overall very good, easy read to pass time! Read more

Touch and Feel: Farm (Touch & Feel)

Review:This is a great book for small children. There are many pages that have the texture incorporated into the photo. The toddler/baby really likes to touch the textured part of the page. Fun that it is about Farm animals! Great price for a board book! Read more

Go! Go! Go! Stop!

Review:I loved this book. Loved, loved, loved it. Someday I will use it in storytime. It is a perfect example for ECRR-talk. The labelling that is used for lifting, carrying, mixing, scooping, etc is awesome. It's a beautiful vocabulary builder--"towed terrifically," "carried carefully," dumped dependably," "mixed marvelously." I also put this on the "play" shelf because although the trucks are all working, it's a lot of fun and I can picture kids playing this story while reading it. At one point I won... Read more

The Night Fairy
The Night Fairy

Review:This is a story of persistence. Grounded because of an encounter with a bat that injured her wings, our young heroine learns to survive in an adverse environment. Using her wits and the ability to cast spells (an inborn instinct that must be mastered as it is learned) she becomes friends with several creatures that could do her harm. The conclusion demonstrates that hatred has little value but friendship is truly valuable. Read more
