Was really excited about book. Was disappointed. Places in story that were peaking fell flat with the story telling. Either author needs to be more uninhibited or lacks ability to express her passion. I would be willing to give her writing another change only because I love her as an actress.

I think some people see the name Lauren Graham and expect this book to be loaded with Gilmore Girls topics. It clearly isn't a Gilmore Girls book... I bought it dispite the reviews and actually loved it. Worth my money.

I was contemplating reading this book for a while and decided to finally do it. I wasn't all that impressed. I did find the main character to be very funny and likeable but thats really about it. In a nutshell, an okay read but I wouldn't recommend this book to one of my close friends.

Fun read. Entertaining. Makes you laugh. Your normal chick lit, but with less of an emphasis on the love story, and more in the career. I enjoyed it. Would have liked a little more on the love story. But I still enjoyed it.

I hear Lauralei in her narrative, can picture Lauren Graham and the character Franny comes alive. Every girl that's to become an actress should read this. Any girl that wants to follow her dreams but is afraid to take that first step should read thus. Thank you Lauren for sharing this story with us. You did a great job!

I bought this book because I always enjoy Lauren Graham on talk shows and figured her personality would come through in her writing voice. Sure enough she delivered in this book. Reading it is like hearing your smart, funny, silly friend tell you a story. The main character is endearing and you root for her the whole way. All in all its a light, fun read while still being inspirational. I highly recommend for reading by the pool this summer.

Since this novel is written in the first person, you can get a better feel of it if you pretend you are hearing Lorelei Gilmore's voice. Then you understand Franny. Always tearing things apart and picturing a multitude of scenarios. I love Lauren Graham as an actress and I think her book was funny and upbeat. I enjoyed reading it very much. Little bit of an abrupt ending. I wanted some more. I would give her 10 stars any day. I hope she shows up on a new TV show. I thought the ending episode of Parenthood was perfect. The character of Frannie was so likable by her humor and drive that were complimented by a genuinely sweet heart. The book is set in the 90's so at first the miscommunications of payphones, answering machines and filofaxes take a moment to recall, but they add something to Frannie's charm rather than distract the story. I'd love to read anther book Lauren Graham.

Lauren Graham is one of my favorite actors, so perhaps I'm slightly biased... But I do read a lot and am always looking for entertaining storytelling.
This book definitely delivers with humor, wit, and an interesting storyline that feels familiar and relatable. I love that it's set in my favorite decade as well, the 90's!!
If you're looking for an afternoon of fun and big Hollywood dreams, this is the book for you!

She's gorgeous, a talented and successful actress...and now it turns out she can write. What's next, Lauren for President? This book was so very good, honest, raw, and emotional. I loved the 1995 details like scrunchies... Franny is not a difficult character to root for, even as you watch her make mistakes, you know she has a good heart. Wonderful book by a woman I have long admired.

If you know and like Lauren Graham, the book reads just like she talks and acts. She's down to earth and achingly honest about a lot of things people don't like to talk about. Her hopes and dreams are like many others. It's the getting there that is the best experience one can have.

This book was actually a monthly selection for a book club to which I belong. It was a great choice. Easy reading and great fodder for discussion.
Leaves the reader with the feeling that somehow dreams still come true.

I love the author's characters on television and her hilarious persona in interviews; however, I found the main character in this story and the story itself to be a little bit too shallow and a little too repetive for my taste.

It was an enjoyable read. The story was good, the characters were likeable, overall it was good, just not great. You can really hear Lauren Graham's voice in this - and had this not been Lauren Graham's, would this have been published? Maybe not.

I had high expectations from this book. And maybe that's why I wasn't blown away by it.
The story's ok, the characters too. But there's not much excitement in the book. I like a book that's a page turner, where I can't wait to get to the last page to know how it will end.
This book is a bit predictable. And although I like Lauren Graham's way of writing, the story could use some more depth.
But as I sad, this is not a bad book, if you like Lauren Graham and this kind of 'I wanna be a star' stories, you should definitely give it a try.

Nothing deep about this book. It was very autobiographical about Lauren Graham, although it was not advertised as such. I would have liked more from the other characters in the book so there was more than one story line going.

Her writing flows like her characters and even though it's fiction, it seems like much of it must have been Lauren Graham's reality.
If you love this Gilmore Girls actress, you'll enjoy her story of a young woman trying to make it. It's not in the successes as much as it is in how she understands them or the lens through which she views them that make the book fun. It's a pretty common kind of storyline, just better told than most.

This book is amazing. Lauren Graham is incredible. She is funny, quirky, and she talks really fast, and that comes across in her book, which is what I love about it. Its a light, fun, and fast read that encourages you to follow your dreams and not give up when times get rough. I finished it in 3 days. This is my new favorite book. I absolutely cannot wait until the sequel

I should not be surprised a Barnard grad has penned this very clever novel (think Anna Quindlen but with more hilarity). I hope she writes many more! A funny, and joyful account of one actress's climb up the slippery ladder of success. The next time I am at Joe Allen, I will think of Franny. Not really a rom-com because the male characters say very real dialogue. if you like and miss Norah Ephron, read this book!

Loved this!! I have always loved Lauren Graham as an actress and now as an author. It was down to earth "clean" which I really appreciated. Cute story, so glad she found her Someday and her Someone.

I recently binge watched Gilmore Girls on Netflix and immediately fell in love with Lauren Graham and a host of other characters on the show. I watched an old video of Lauren when her book first came out and decided that I wanted to read it. I loved it. It was a great read and Fanny Banks was as hilarious and down to earth as I would think Ms Graham would be. It really explained a lot about what an aspiring actor goes through as they attempt to break into the business. I applaud all actors that work so hard towards their dreams. Look forward to Lauren Graham's new book coming out in November.
