This book is a little different from the previous Jack Stratton books. Jack and Alice are working apart from each other, though still working the same cases. But some different characteristics about Jack are revealed in this book that hadn't been in previous books, such as his suffering from PTSD. The author mentioned (in an email to me after I commented on it) that he did bring this out more in this book. I also found Jack capable of doing things not found in the other books as well. The book did not disappoint. There was adventure and many twists and turns in the story that kept me guessing. While I did figure it out, it wasn't until near the very end of the book. Highly recommended, especially to previous readers of this series. Looking forward to the next one.

This latest Jack and Alice adventure is a thrilling ride for Jack and a terrifying wait for Alice. The setting at the top of a mountain during a blizzard with a "reality" TV crew and contestants sets up a situation in which Jack cannot know who is dangerous and who is a friend. Without communications to Alice, he can't get any background information about them either. Alice is trying to solve the mystery of the previous season's death without any way to contact Jack to give him her findings.

I received an advance copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. I have read all books in this series since the beginning, and this is one of the best of them all. Highly recommended.

What a page turner.... Jack & Alice once again yet apart ... Thrilling, yet a bit chilly, and exciting with yet another, "What's next?????" ending. Thank you for another great day of reading - just after midnight and I couldn't stop until Ifinished the last page.

Great job Jack everyone you were sent to protect got killed and then we have to hear how much Alice loves you through out the whole book. Next time send Alice out on the adventure and hopefully the villain can take her out in chapter 1.
Jack don't put this case on your resume because Barney Fife and Thelma Lu could have solved this quicker.

Just awesome. Spoiler alert.

This one starts with Jack and Alice at one of those inside climbing places. Jack is boning up because he and Alice's next assignment will be heading up a mountain that is covered in snow. Jack and Alice are investigators for the McAlister Insurance company who insures Planet Survival the highly popular TV show.

The show is being filmed on a mountain during winter. They are back from hiatus when an avalanche killed one of the crew. They have five contestants and a film crew. The only way up the mountain is by gondola since the production people were to cheap to replace the helicopter when their pilot was killed while on vacation during the hiatus. They love making money on the show but cut corners when it comes to equipment and hardship for the crew.

Jack is an Iraq war vet and is also an ex cop. He has loads of experience in staying alive.

Alice will be using the computer which she is very good at, to try and gather all the info Jack might need. Alice will also be looking into the deaths of her family which is something that has bothered her, her whole life. Kiku will be assisting her. The Japanese woman is a Yakuza trained killer but a close friend of Jack's. Lady, Jack and Alice's King Shepherd will also play a part.

When Alice and Jack meet Brian Strickland a Vice President for McAlister Insurance he introduces them both to Leah Coleman who's the executive producer of Planet Survival. Jack will be going in under cover to assess the show so Brian and those at McAlister can decide if they want to continue to insure them or not. Of course Jack will be going up the snow covered mountain and Alice will be staying down below. A very unhappy Alice.

So begins another fine read by Greyson.

This one has Jack, Alice, Mt. Minuit, Leah, Ollie, Abe, Bree, Gavin, Harvey, Ryan, Wally who runs the weather station at the summit, the contestants, Vicky, Eric, Cornelius, Chiri and Frida, accidents, murder, avalanches, an Alice who's trying her best along with Mrs. Spencer to figure out exactly what happened when the crew member Charlie died, a Jack figuring out that someone in the crew is a murderer and more, a blizzard that meets with another blizzard to become a huge blizzard that wasn't supposed to hit the mountain but did and Jack Stratton doing his best to figure it all out, save who he can, survive and stay alive.

Christopher Greyson's Jack Frost (Greyson Media 2018) is the next in the Jack Stratton Mystery Thriller series, is a fast-moving story about murder in the movie industry. Jack Stratton, working for the insurance company that's ensuring the TV production, goes undercover to ferret out if the death of two show people was a coincidence--nothing more than bad luck--or murder. The setting is a treacherous mountain, setting for an extreme survival show, that gets even more treacherous when a deadly storm hits the mountain while the filming takes place. The crew can't simply hunker down and wait out the bad weather because someone is trying to kill people on this show and they don't care how dangerous the weather is.

Stratton is a clever investigator and co-owner of a security company. While he tries to uncover the murderer from the inside, his girlfriend and company partner uses serious tech skills to unravel the mystery from their office. They make a great team, digging up clues, connecting the dots, and ultimately being the only ones either can rely on.

This is a delightful story, fast-moving, filled with ski jargon and details for those who love that, with the type of character development that makes readers keep turning pages. Why did Jack Frost lose one star? It got a little light at times, a touch above an airport read. That's not bad, just not what I expected. And, I will be reading the next one!

Jack Frost – Christopher Greyson
I was fortunate to receive this novel as an Advance Reader Copy, in exchange for an objective review.
Jack Stratton is a former police officer, turned private investigator, who takes a case for an insurance agency after an untimely death on the set of a reality survivor show. While the death was termed accidental, the crew of the show have been receiving death threats, and Jack is to go in undercover to evaluate the situation.
The television show is presently filming atop a snow-capped mountain, with a gondola as the only transportation to the top. Alice, Jack’s fiancée and investigative partner, will stay behind, albeit unwillingly, and research records, crew background checks and raw footage from the shows filming.
As Jack transports to the mountain top, he sees a sign – the Iroquois’ sign for death, carved into the mountainside. One atop, he becomes the crews newest ‘gofer’, as his undercover role. As he begins to meet and assess the crew and contestants, malicious things begin to happen. A contestant is disqualified, and after a show of temper, goes missing. Numerous incidents begin to occur, hampering and narrowly missing injuring cast and crew. As tension mounts, Jack desperately searches for a killer, Alice makes her own discoveries to identify a killer, and a monstrous snowstorm changes course and heads in their direction…
I’ve been an avid reader for years and I cannot believe that I’ve never discovered Christopher Greyson and his Jack Stratton series! I read this all in one sitting and stayed up late into the night to finish it! Non-stop action, adventure, intrigue and of course mystery! This book has it all! Fabulous read!!
My next goal now is to read the rest of the Jack Stratton series! Mr. Greyson, you have a new fan!!

Jack Frost is a private investigator. His latest assignment involves The investigation of a reality TV show that’s facing threats, deadly accidents and worst for the producers and crew a shutdown.

Ex-cop Jack and his fiancee, Alice, are both excited at the chance to do investigative work for McAlister Insurance. This unique gig involves the reality competition show Planet Survival, which lost a crew member in an avalanche last year and more recently received a note threatening other crew members’ lives. Producer Leah Coleman wants Jack to travel solo to Mount Minuit with the cast and crew. Alice isn’t happy about Jack going alone, but Jack ensures her the importance of her staying behind to delve into the alleged accident at home where it is a more feasible task. There is no Wi-Fi or cell service on the mountain. As Jack gets into his investigation, posing as a gofer, he learns that someone is leaving threatening messages and sabotaging gear. Adding to the crew and actors troubles, is a blizzard, which makes it exceedingly difficult to search for the people who are going missing, some of whom later turn up dead.

This story is fast paced and intense with avalanche charges that can control when a potential snow-slide will occur and likewise pose a constant threat with a killer on the loose. He builds an atmosphere of horror given the turbulent blizzard, snow blindness, and never ending frigid wind. Jack struggles to keep himself and others alive as Alice unravels the bizarre circumstances of a crew member’s avalanche death. She inches closer to a killer’s identity all the while keeping the reader on the edge concerning the identity of the Planet Survival’s killer. Trust no one is the theme.

While I am not a fan of watching reality shows, I found the book, Jack Frost, to be a unique plot with a laudable blend of action and mystery. Adventure seekers will enjoy this book of risk takers.

Another amazing story in the Jack Stanton series! It is captivating on every level and his ingenuity is limitless! The books are stand alone and continues Jack’s incredible journey with Alice. Reading the series in order, you see how the characters develop and each story is rich in content. The story is filled with twists and turns, fast paced, lots of action, suspense (which continues to increase) and mystery. Did I leave anything out? Oh, yes! It is intense and a page turner!
Jack is on a Mountain investigating an insurance tragedy, trying to stay alive since a killer is among them, Alice is left, at the bottom sifting through the evidence and attempting to discover what happened to cause her family’s death and of course, communication between Mountain and home has failed. Need to know more? Then, it is time to get the book and see if, you can figure out how they solve this mystery or even survive!
I did not know what was coming next, Christopher Greyson has done a wonderful job of keeping me guessing and the plot is filled with danger, action and holds your attention!…The ending is a total surprise!! Thank you, Christopher Greyson

This mystery/thriller takes place on the set of a Survivor-style reality TV show, and it's jam-packed with suspense, action, AND mystery. I loved all the behind the scenes stuff of the TV show (no idea how accurate that all is, but it was fun, anyway), but even more, I loved that this was a true mystery book--not a suspense thriller marketed as a mystery. The plot zipped right along, and everything made sense. The ending was certainly foreshadowed and led up to (as opposed to a grand reveal where you had no ideas what was coming), but it wasn't painfully obvious.

The only part I didn't care for was the over-the-top romantic dialog between Jack and his fiancee. I was glad they were out of contact for most of the book, because I couldn't have taken a lot more like, "The only one not promising to behave and be careful is you, my darling." Uh, yeah.

Still, a great story! I'll be going back to the first book to start from the beginning (though this worked just fine as a standalone).

A review copy was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

In 6 books Jack and Alice always work together having each others backs but this time Jack is sent up a mountain to go undercover while Alice stays behind to do research. Unfortunately the mother of all blizzards keeps them from talking and Alice has information that is vital to Jack but Jack is fighting to survive.

This book really has 2 separate stories. One involving Jack and his assignment to investigate the death of several people on the show Planet Survival and the other what happened to Alice's family. Honestly out of all of these books this was my least favorite. I really appreciate the interplay between Alice, who never listens to what Jack tells her to do, and Jack who thinks he's in charge. Having Jack and Alice in 2 locations broke that connection.

Overall this was a good installment but not the best. I'm glad I decided to read all the others before beginning this so that I had an understanding of who all the players were and how they interacted, I'm not sure I would have been able to follow this as a stand alone.

If you are new to Christopher Greyson's mystery thrillers, you're in for a treat. We're introduced to Jack Stratton right in the first chapter as a man who loves the adrenaline rush that comes with dangerous assignments, despite his commitment to sweet Alice, his business partner and fiancee. Once a police officer and now working as a private investigator, Jack is hired to work undercover by an insurance company eager to find out what went wrong on the set of Planet Survival following the accidental death of one of the crew. The fly in the ointment? Sweet Alice must stay behind, while Jack goes on set, atop hazardous, snowy mountains to discover layers of treachery and deceit. But not to worry, Greyson is a master at adding plot twists, and Alice has her own mystery to solve. What I liked best about the story is that all the characters came across as authentic, some brassy, some likable, some quirky, and some so easy to mistrust. The writing is crisp, and the ending revealed unexpected secrets for those trapped atop the mountain and for sweet Alice.

Christopher Greyson's Jack Stratton series continues with JACK FROST, a mystery that takes its cues from Agatha Christie's AND THEN THERE WERE NONE and adds a very modern setting by going behind the scenes of a reality show.

The story pulled me in and kept me intrigued as Jack and Alice, in two separate locations, tracked down a killer. Clues and red herrings abound, and the reveal both excited me (I figured it out a two or three chapters before Alice and Jack did) and stunned me (I kept thinking, "No, it can't be," even after all the evidence). And the investigation into the deaths of Alice's family also continues with a huge break and some questions answered.

Most definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. Highly recommended!

Jack Stratton experiences more than Frost"NIPPING AT HIS NOSE! Going undercover to investigate an insurance tragedy; Jack finds himself running from EXPLOSIONS, AVALANCHES, and a KILLER. Posing as a gofer on a reality TV production of "Planet Survival" Jack must struggle with the blizzard weather, hidden agendas and the isolation from civilization. Alice, Jack's fiancee is left at home to work evidence but is also seeking answers to an ancient accident that took the lives of her family. Two mysteries to enjoy along with these heartfelt characters. "A copy of this book was provided by author via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Reviews here are my honest opinion."

I picked this up purely because it was a detective mystery set in a blizzard. I've never read any of the other Jack Stratton mysteries before.
That being said, this one was quite engaging. The characters were easy to get into even though I had zero backstory about them. I'll admit I did skip over the chapters that dealt with Alice's dead parents, because I had no idea what they were talking about, and wanted to get back to the juicy bits on the mountain. But I really liked all of the Planet Survival mountain suspense business.

I also didn't figure out the ending until quite late in the game. Also the ending itself was deliciously Lifetime Original Movie dramatic, so that was fun.
All in all, a fun read, and not too much need to go back and read the other 5(?) books in the series.

I have read every book in the "Jack" collection and have never been disappointed. I find myself endeared to the main characters, Jack, Alice and Mrs. Stevens, and even Lady. This new installment does not disappoint. Jack Frost find Jack and Alice separate on the same assignment investigating the death of a crew member on a survival show. I enjoyed the parallel story lines where Jack and Alice were coming to the same conclusion at the same time.
Not to give the story line away, Jack Frost is a darn good read, and I can guaranty that when it gets good, you won't be disappointed.

I love the Jack Stratton series. I have enjoyed the evolution of the characters. Alice and Jack are a great team along with Lady. Even though Jack and Alice are working on the murder mystery from different locations and are unable to communicate directly, they still manage to figure out who the killer is. I can usually figure out who the killer is but I had a hard time with Jack Frost. It kept me on my toes. I really enjoyed Kiku being part of the story. She may very well need her own book. I recommend this book to anyone new to Jack Frost series or loyal series followers.

Do you enjoy an action-packed, page-turning, thrilling and gripping suspense novel? Christopher Greyson NAILED IT with Jack Frost - the latest and possibly greatest in his Jack Stratton series.

Jack and fiancé Alice land a contract on the highest rated reality show. Only Jack is allowed on set - high atop perilous Mount Minuit, while Alice is forced to stay behind to investigate a previous death on that same set.

Try as I might, I didn’t figure out “whodunnit” till right before the reveal. That’s the mark of a great writer. I was hooked from the first to the very last page! Highly recommended!

Very grateful to have received a free ARC of Jack Frost from the author and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Christopher Greyson's books are like dessert: I hold on to them for a while before I start reading, in fact, I'll start reading other books first because I know it will be a great read and I don't want it to be over. This book, though, just blew me away...so much so that I almost started writing a review while I was still reading it. There is one particular character who makes an appearance who is one of my all time favorites plus the plot is fantastic. You will hold your breath throughout the entire book! Another 5 star winner from Greyson.

Jack and Alice draw you into the joy and closeness of their relationship. However, after they split up to investigate different parts of the case, the book begins to drag. It felt like the route to solving the case lost its excitement when the same things kept repeating. People had ideas, shared those suggestions one or two people at a time, finally trying their ideas to catch the killer. This was repeated over and over again. The book was about 300 pages, but felt like it was at least 500. This is not an author I will seek out.

Jack Frost has two mysteries going on - who is killing people on a television survival show and figuring out the death of Alice's parents. I admit I was confused by the inclusion of the mystery surrounding Alice's parents. This is the first book I've read by Christopher Greyson, and I think that if I had read the other books in this series it all would have made sense and fallen together better. That said, the action in Jack Frost is non-stop, with lots of plot twists and turns. I see this book's primary audience as middle or high school students.

This was my first Jack Stratton novel and I don’t feel like I missed anything extremely pressing by not starting with the first in the series. I’ll eventually start from the beginning when I have the time.

Jack and Alice have been hired by an insurance company to investigate the death of a crew member that was working for a popular reality show. While Jack was on the snowy mountain, Alice was busy doing background work. It seems that the most reviewers really missed having Alice and Jack together for most of the book. Being that this was my first, I didn’t mind it. They both had aspects of the job to do, especially with Alice researching the death of her family.

This book was highly entertaining. There were so many potential killers that I didn’t figure it out until it was close to the reveal. While the main part of the story wrapped up nicely, I can’t wait to find out more about Alice’s family as she digs into their past more in the next book.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book in this series that I have read and it was very good. Jack and Alice are engaged and are investigating the death of a sound man on the show Planet Survival. Jack is working on location and Alice is working from home. Lots of exciting, suspicious and mysterious things happen in both locations. Although this is one of a series, it is a stand alone as well. This is a very exciting story and I enjoyed it.

This was the best Jack Stratton book to date! Sometimes series books get weaker as they progress, but not this one! I so hope to see a book dedicated to Kiku and her struggle with good vs evil. She has really grown on me and it would be so awesome to get a better back story mixed with the present.

Christopher Greyson does it again in this newest Jack Stratton mystery! Jack and Alice are each dealing with their own mystery along with being apart. Jack is up in the mountains trying to figure out who the killer is while Alice is trying to figure out if her parents car accident was just that or were they targeted, add in a monster blizzard and you have one heck of a good read!! Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC book and give my own personal opinion.

This is a great story created by a great author. Here, Detective Jack Stratton is investigating the death of a sound man on the tv show, "Planet Survival." The show is filming on a nearby Mount Minuit and Jack is working under cover as a security agent. There's a blizzard as he becomes trapped on the mountain while the killer continues to stalk the cast and crew. A chilling thriller, so get the hot coffee out to keep you warm as you follow Stratton's adventure.

I love this series and this one did not disappoint! While most of the story focuses on Jack's assignment on location, I found the subplot with Alice and Kiku equally as compelling. I was definitely surprised by the killer, which I always enjoy. I do love the romance, and even though Jack and Alice were physically separated throughout much of the story, it still had some of the romantic elements I love. SO looking forward to the next installment! 5 stars!!!!

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. This is my first look at this series by Greyson. While it has a certain charm, especially if you stick with it, the story got a little confusing with the large number of primary characters. Character development is weak and plot detail is missing. The story has no major defects and is worth reading, just do not expect high quality who-dun-it writing.

#7 in the series provides another great murder mystery. The characters from prior books continue their stories. Jack goes undercover to investigate an insurance claim on a "survival reality" program on a dangerous mountain. As bodies mount up, Alice works to figure out the killer with the help of their landlord back in their apartment. Kiku returns to help Alice discover who killed her family in the auto accident many years before.

Another exciting book in the Jack Stratton series. It's a page-turner all the way and you will get "hooked" on this one. I've read several of the Jack Stratton Mysteries. This one was not a page turner. It had too many characters interacting to keep up with who was who. Plus, trying to imagine the lodge and the places on the mountain. Then add trying to decide who the villain was and their motivation, and add a sub plot involving Jack's girl friend, it was just too much.

This is a great read,
Detective Jack Stratton is back to his formidable best, taking on both an unknown killer and the vicious elements while trapped at the top of a mountain in a blizzard.
As usual Alice chips away in the background solving the mystery but is unable to let Jack know creating a tense final few chapters.
It looks like the adventure is set to continue as the mystery of the demise of Alice's real family continues in the background allowing us to take a break from the action on the mountain and bringing in the mysterious Kiku's skills and resources into play.
