Authors who take the opportunity to preach personal political opinions in their books to an audience who purchases said book because the author usually tells a good story are tedious. Now we know that John Sandford is a Democrat with a vicious bias. Not only that, but he believes that politicians who get in trouble stealing are mostly Democrats and those who get in trouble screwing somebody are mostly Republicans. I guess Clinton and the Kennedy's get a pass cause they're so "smart". Oh and let's not forget Weiner. Don't tell me it's fiction. The labeling, the sweeping generalizations, the assumption that all of his readers share his opinions is simply arrogant. Here's one of my own John - half your readers are likely to disagree with your assessment of the character of Republicans because we ARE Republicans. Which would make us less likely to bpurchase your next book cause who wants to listen to it. I guess you're so rich, though, what we might think doesn't really matter anymore.

Invisible Prey continues with the likable theme of the Lucas Davenport series but, like the others has an original, ingenious plot. I like the mind games Lucas excels in plus the physical violence that he overcomes.

Not the best "Prey" story. Rather dreary, not as interesting as others in the series. It felt like the author was depressed when he wrote it. The other Prey books have an edge, an excitement, a drive to the plot. This one does not.

This is an excellent installment in the Prey series involving Lucas Davenport. The book begins with the murder of an eldery woman and her maid, ostensibly a robbery. As Lucas investigates, things become more complicated and even includes some intersection with a second case he is working involving a politician and underage sex. The plot moves quickly and has satisfying twists and turns. A great read if you like this series.

I have enjoyed John Sandford for many years but Invisible Pray did not live up to his usual standards for me. It was slow to start and did not have the plot twists that I have enjoyed in other Prey series books.

John Sandford is a true craftsman. His "Invisible" works are consistent, intriguing, and growing in fun. As his charecter, Lucas Davenport, grows older an emerging note of humour (expressed through sarcasm and irony) is making these reads even more enjoyable. Invisible Prey is a fast paced, enjoyable read made all the more "fun" by the charecters as they emerge and Daveport's reactions to them and his contnuing family and friends. I look forward to what becomes "visible" next in the "Invisible" series.
