Nikki and Ollie have been hinted at in the background of the other Fight For Me novels. There was definite chemistry between them, but something kept them from crossing that line between friends and lovers, and kept them barely hanging on at friends.

When Oliver Preston’s sister went missing 14 years ago, his life changed forever. He was tasked with protecting her and one night changed everything, he failed at his duty. The guilt that ate at him caused him to pull away from anything that might have pointed to happiness for himself.

Nikki, Ollie, and Sydney had been inseparable, and in one night Nikki Walters lost both of her best friends. Ollie broke her heart, but she hasn’t been able to get him completely out of hers. It has been enough for her to keep him in her life as a friend rather than to lose him completely, but it is also hard to watch him punish himself for something that was not his fault or his responsibility.

There is a painful past between these two. As the past continues to haunt them, it becomes clear that even though 14 years have passed, the lack of closure is keeping them in the same place. The flashback scenes built a beautiful young love pulled by the fear of Sydney not understanding. But knowing what we know now from Follow Me Back, I can’t help but wonder what might have been different had certain conversations happened before Sydney disappeared.

I was a little disappointed that I had figured out most of the suspense aspect of the storyline very early in the plot. But even though I thought I had the answers, the anticipation remained to see if my predictions were correct and to see how the story actually played out.

Ollie and Nikki have been one of my most anticipated couples since I met them. I love a good friends to lovers and this had all that and more. The second chance aspect pulled me in and had me rooting for them almost as soon as they were introduced as having chemistry. I was a little disappointed in the more predictable aspects of the story, but still loved the journey for Nikki and Ollie.

This friends-to-lovers romance packs a powerful emotional punch that will resonate with readers. A.L. Jackson does an incredible job of integrating difficult, sensitive subject matter into the storyline while still delivering a beautifully breathtaking romance, making Lead Me Home a layered and memorable love story.

It is the conclusion of the Fight for Me series, which has been a wonderful and poignant journey in which three childhood friends find love, and although it is a stand-alone, I encourage reading the previous two books. They are fabulous, and you will get to know Ollie and Nikki a little and be introduced to the mystery of Ollie’s missing sister and Nikki’s best friend, Sydney, which is resolved in this book.

Ollie is so tortured and so swoony—one of my favorite combinations. He desperately wants to be with Nikki but doesn’t feel he is worthy of her because he blames himself for Sydney’s disappearance. When Nikki's safety is threatened, he will do anything to protect her, and they are pushed together until he can no longer deny his feelings for her. Nikki brings light into his life again and helps heal his deep emotional scars. Actually, they help each other like true friends, lovers and partners, and their happy-ever-after is emotional and deeply satisfying.

Read through Kindle Unlimited.

Have been looking forward to this book since the series started and although I enjoyed the second half it was a struggle to get there. It's super angsty! These two characters have been running around each other for such a long time and with such a painful past it was really hard for them to find common ground again. There's a lot of internal dialogue and angst going on in the first half and although I understand the reasons for this I really was getting to the point of thinking the story was never gonna move to where I wanted it to go. It did feel like it was never going to end. I kinda wish it had got to the point abit quicker then made abit more of the last third of the book. I felt that the resolution to the underlying story arc was a little rushed and could of been explored a little further.

Saying all that I've given it 4 stars as I do love this authors writing and I've loved all these characters. Theres bits of the storyline that I really enjoyed and I loved the parts with all the guys together, they have such a strong connection. Nikki was a pillar of strength to Ollie and I don't think a lesser women would of been able to get through to him. She paved the way for him to forgive and learn to follow his feelings again. I'm kinda hoping we get more books set in this world as it felt like there's more to explore with the three couples.

I'm really loving and enjoying this author's books. I've only, not too long ago, discovered her and I'm glad I did! This story was heartbreaking but also loving at the same time. I don't think there are words enough to say how touching this story was, even if it did make you want to cry your eyes out.
Nikki has loved Ollie for as long as she can remember but one fateful night changes it all for them. His sister has disappeared and Ollie's been frantically trying to find her over the years but with no such luck. Although Nikki wants to be there for him, he can't seem to open his heart to her even though he desperately needs her. Now there's a threat looming over her, he's scared to lose her the same way he lost his sister. Even though both are trying to deny their feelings, the chemistry between them is undeniable. But secrets will be laid bare; some they'll never see coming... Will they finally know where his sister disappeared to all these years ago? Will they finally have a chance to be together?...

************MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS***********

Ollie is a romantic sort in his own way, "....you make me insane. That mouth, and this body. I want to eff you wild, Nikki. Mark you. Keep you.” Ollie was a very haunted man, he needed some guidance from his woman, she was his light and just needed to help show him the way. I was on the edge of my seat toward the end I was dying to knkw the outcome of a mystery, although the outcome wasn't what I wanted but I suspected it would come to a certain turnout. Overall I liked this book.

Once upon a time the bond between Nikki and Ollie seemed unbreakable. As children their friendship, along with his sister, was all that mattered to the three of them. Just as Ollie and Nikki started becoming more though tragedy struck and tore them apart. The feelings they once had haven’t gone away completely which has made theirs a heartbreaking story from the very start. Neither of them can give the other up completely, but being around each other is too painful, which keeps them in an endless loop that broke my heart. When danger comes calling for Nikki though, Ollie will be forced into choosing the past or a future with the one person who’s always been there beside him.

Ollie was a loving and protective brother who took his job of caring for his sister very seriously. As children he, she, and Nikki became The Three Musketeers with an undying bond. As teens he found his friendship with Nikki becoming something more, but before it could flourish completely they lost the other part of their connection with the death of his sister. His guilt, his inability to protect, had him closing off his heart. He closed himself off from Nikki too at a time when they could’ve leaned on each other. Flash forward years later and they’re stuck in a rut of being just friends. She’s an undeniable temptation that he gave into once but won’t let happen again as he doesn’t think he’s deserving of happiness. From the moment readers first met Ollie we knew his story was going to be heartwrenching. The glimpses we’ve seen of him show a man with a big heart which makes his guilt understandable, but no less tear-inducing. He’s a big man but gentle and the feelings Nikki inspires in him leave him conflicted as he really does want what she’s offering...at least in those quiet, introspective moments. Along with moments of sweetness comes moments of him flexing his alpha muscles when Nikki ends up in danger and that’s when I was cheering the most. I loved their interactions, the bond that we saw played out in flashbacks. I loved his broody side and the moments of joy Nikki brought out in him. He’s a drool-worthy hero who’s always been a part of the group of friends who star in this book series but he’s never been fully a part of things. He’s been on the sidelines watching, but with this book Nikki brings him out of the darkness in a romance full of heart and soul.

Nikki’s always given the impression of being a carefree party girl. She’s bold, feisty, and good at finding HEA for her friends. When it comes to herself though, her love life is at a standstill as the one man she wants is stuck in the past. With the death of her childhood friend, the love that just started to bloom between her and Ollie died too. She’s tried to find another to take his place, but she knows he’s the one for her. Longing glances and sexual tension soon evolve into more once Nikki’s life gets put in danger. Their close quarters has her pushing him like never before, stirring up the past in hopes of making a future. Nikki’s an immensely likable heroine, always there for her friends. She’s fun-loving but strong-willed. She puts herself on the line in hopes of empowering other women, to keep them safe as she couldn’t keep her childhood friend safe. In many ways she’s suffering just as much as Ollie. Despite everything she’s always wanted him, but she’s not settling for the crumbs she’s gotten from him since that long ago time of happiness. I applauded her standing up for herself and her desires in their emotional journey towards HEA.

Ms. Jackson saved the best for last with this romance of second chances. Ollie and Nikki are an enthralling couple with a connection that pulled at my heartstrings as their grief and loss ultimately brought them back together. It was a rocky journey though with a bit of danger and suspense, along with actions from Ollie that frustrated me while bringing a tear to my eye. It’s an epic romance, one that pulls readers in from the very first book to this last one. It’s one that I highly recommend as the author has crafted a story that’s sweet, sexy, and sentimental. Just when these characters, and their situation, broke my heart this author put it back together again. In a series of books where each installment stands strongly on their own it ultimately becomes an unforgettable saga as you follow each character’s journey from a defining moment of tragedy to HEA.

Lead Me Home, Nikki and Ollie. Oh my goodness, it’s taken me longer than normal to gather my thoughts and feelings on this book, enough to form them into coherent thoughts and how to form them into sentences for a decent review. Follow Me Back was an angst ridden, highly intense book. Lead Me Home leaves the last book in its dust. How any author could pull off this type of high stakes, heart breaking, intense read whilst avoiding the perceptible overdone feeling from a reader, is a true testament to the author’s capabilities.

‘…why wouldn’t he live for me
Devastation crawled across my chest like a disease. Oliver Preston the infection and the cure.’

There is a heavy feeling of tragedy throughout ‘Lead Me Home’. The tragic history of the characters is still controlling their lives and emotions in the present. Nowhere is this more apparent than when it comes to Ollie and Nikki. Best friends since they were children who had spent most of their time together with Ollie’s sister Sydney. Several chapters were set in the past, breadcrumbs pushing the story forward towards the night that everything changed. These scenes are almost like flashbacks that are thrown right into the mix of the storyline at pivotal times to explain why Nikki and Ollie’s relationship is so tempestuous.

‘The problem was, he would never allow himself to fall for me.
Oliver Preston was armor and stone.
Bitterness and venom.
Broken fragments.
Shrapnel waiting to burst.’

The scenes between Ollie and Nikki were scorching hot. How two people could deny their feelings for each other was so far beyond me, it almost drove me bonkers.

‘Ruining me.
Keeping me.
Alienating me.
Push, pull, taunt, tease, tak, leave.
My head spun.
Wanting him so desperately and still praying for a way to finally break free of his chains.’

‘Lead Me Home’ is chock-full of secrets out of love and respect. But, as we all know, secrets have a way of showing up in the light of day when we least expect them too. Both Nikki and Ollie are harbouring deep emotional trauma. Ollie especially has scars so deep they may never heal. These scars were initially created by someone very close to him saying something in a moment of despair. This sets off a chain of emotions and thought processes in Ollie’s head, planting seeds that are still taking root years later.

‘I looked at him from over my shoulder. My breath hitched.
My beautiful beast, who was so angry at the world, angry at himself, sitting there with his chin lifted and his nostrils flaring.
I knew he would charge into the distance and change it all if he was given the chance.’

There are so many complex strands weaved through to the foundation of these characters. When I first came across this book, I believed it was a second chance romance. I couldn’t have been more wrong, and I’ll explain in part why I couldn’t have been more incorrect. You see, Lead Me Home is more than just a second chance, these characters in their former years attempted to make adult choices when they didn’t have the tools in their mental repertoire to understand their choices. They tried to be adults in an adult relationship, and they never ever stood a chance. This book isn’t a this or a that, it’s so much more than a genre or subgenre.

‘That rail-thin body I’d pretended wasn’t close to my taste so I could try to rid her from my mind for all these years. Going after girls who were exactly her opposite. Praying when I closed my eyes, I wouldn’t see her face.
Impossible.
She was the only thing I’ve ever seen.’

This book rolled me up and wrung me out. I felt so many emotions all at once at times that I still can’t think straight enough to put them all down on paper. I may be an accomplished reviewer, but I could never do this book the justice it deserves. Read it and you will not be disappointed.

Sunshine and the Beast

Nikki and Ollie...we have seen them circling around each other throughout the series. But now we get to see further into their complicated history and present.

Oliver Preston's life changed irrevocably fourteen years ago when his little sister went missing. Since then he has felt guilt and anger and has focused on finding the truth and getting justice for her...and hoping somehow he will find her alive. He has closed himself off emotionally and is afraid of love and more loss. He is a broody, guarded, self loathing, protective, and bossy beast of a man with a damaged heart.

Nikki Walters grew up with Ollie and his sister, Sydney (and later Rex and Kale, and they were all the best of friends...until in their late teens when she and Ollie secretly became more. But Sydney's disappearance changed their relationship as well and she was left behind. She is vibrant, sassy, sweet, and has a big heart. She is trying to better herself and make a difference in the lives of those that need someone on their side.

Ollie broke her heart a long time ago and as recently as a year ago, he hurt her again. They both have this want and need for each other, but there is a push and pull that has been going on for years. Ollie continually pushes her away emotionally even when he is pushing his way into her life playing her protector. He guards his heart and locks down his own needs and emotions. And she is afraid to be hurt again by wanting more than he will give.

But when Nikki finds herself being threatened, he is determined not to lose someone else that he cares about. And that puts them in close proximity to each other. And all of those intense feelings and fears surround them.

How long can they hold out before their bodies win the battle over their brains again?

There is the underlying mystery of what happened to Sydney layered with the present threat to Nikki that adds suspense. I enjoyed getting flashbacks and both of their points of view. These two had such a strong connection, complicated history, and so much pain between them. My heart hurt for them both...Ollie, the broken boy who knows he wants and needs her, but thinks he can't keep her and does not have enough left to give. Gah, he could be so stubborn and self deprecating, but he was this tortured soul you just wanted to hug and help heal. And Nikki, the positive girl that just wants to have hope that she could get what her heart has always wanted, but fears that she will always be the one discarded and hurt.

This second chance love story was so intense, heartbreaking, and emotional, but there was also humor, friendship, and love too. I enjoyed getting more with their tight group of friends Rex, Rynna, Kale, Hope, Brody, Lily and the adorable kids. Even though this can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend at least reading Show Me the Way first. Their past shaped their intertwined lives and left lasting regret, grief, anger, and unfinished business for the core characters. And healing, forgiveness, and redemption takes time, patience, support, and unconditional love. This book finally brings some closure while also causing more ripples of pain, but it also allows the healing process to continue. These characters had been stuck in limbo for so long that they needed an impetus for change and find a way to finally move on.

Oliver Preston is a man stuck in the past. After his sister disappeared 14 years ago, he’s never been able to stop looking for her or give up hope that she might somehow be out there somewhere for him to save and protect once again as he did when they were children. He’s never been able to truly move on and he’s hurt and rejected the one person he was meant to love forever.

Nikki Walters had been best friends with Ollie and his sister Sydney since her first day of school. They were completely inseparable doing everything together. As they grew older, however, the attraction between Ollie and Nikki turns into more than friendship. The one night they decide to take their relationship further is the night that Sydney disappeared. Neither can forget and Ollie can’t forgive himself or live with the guilt of putting his needs above his sister’s that fateful night. Now, Nikki is stuck loving a man that has built a wall so high around himself that he can never love her, even if he wants to.

When trouble comes knocking at Nikki’s door, however, Ollie will stop at nothing to keep her safe . . .whether she wants his interference or not. And, the more time they spend together, the more those sparks begin flying again. Nikki is willing to give Ollie everything if he can meet her half way, but her heart can’t stand being broken or rejected by him one more time. Ollie knows he isn’t good enough for Nikki but wants her anyway But, neither could have seen what was coming their way to tear them apart forever. It’s up to Oliver to to end what was started so many years ago before Nikki pays the ultimate price.

A.L. Jackson’s Lead Me Home was an extremely powerful and emotional storyline. Guilt has eaten Ollie completely alive. He doesn’t know how to move on from what he feels is his fault and is trapped in a past that will never let him find happiness or closure. Nikki has tried to move on the best she can, but when Ollie shows up, she can’t help but to let him break her all over again . . .time after time. She’s never stopped loving him, but she needs to let go of the past so she can live, even if that means leaving him behind.

Ollie, Nikki and the rest of the characters are extremely well written. Readers can feel their guilt, sorrow and torment just dripping off of the pages. I wanted so much for the mystery of the past to be solved as well as the danger facing Nikki in the present to be ended so that both she and Ollie as well as their friends could finally get the closure they needed and the the happy ever after they deserved.

This second chance romance will have you grabbing for your tissues and sitting on the edge of your seat. It’s quite the thrill ride and will leave you breathless! 4.5 stars.

A Top Pick of 2018!!
Absolutely Brilliant.
Lead me home by Al Jackson had me completely mesmerized! I hung on every word and felt a plethora of emotions. I had the wind knocked out of me at times, while my heart and mind were obliterated. It was overflowing with love and devotion as well as sadness and despair... Kissed with darkness and fear, but still had Amy's beautiful poetic and lyrical style. OMFG!!

After reading the first two books, I could have never imagined that this would be Ollie & Nikki's story. What I knew about them did not prepare me for the emotional enormity of this book. An epic epic epic love story. I could sit here and tell you about their journey, as individuals as well as a couple, but my words could never do this book justice. Lead me home is the type book you need to read straight through for few uninterrupted hours. It will completly take you hostage.... I LIVED it!!
Just prepare yourself for Oliver Preston!! This beautiful tortured man is everything.

I have loved all the books in this series, but this one is by far my favorite!

I think Ms. Jackson just ripped my heart out then put it back together and made me like it with Lead Me Home.
This is the third book in the Fight for Me series, focusing on a trio of friends who are each struggling with their demons. Ollie and Nikki are characters that we have seen crush on each other in the first two books, but they finally get there story here.
I love both of these characters. They are both caretakers and have a complicated history that extends from a live long friendship to today. The interactions between Ollie and Nikki are emotional and the feelings they have for each other ripple off of the page, especially while Ollie is fighting his feelings.
Incredibly well written, Lead Me Home, is a fantastic conclusion to the Fight For Me series. There is a fantastic balance of rebuilding trust, romance, friendship, mystery, and intrigue. I would suggest reading at least one of the Fight For Me books before reading Lead Me Home as it really wraps up the series and the previous couples play prominent roles in the secondary cast.

Ollie the forever haunted tatted bad boy and Nikki the one who has loved him since they were kids. Nikki has always been best friends and in love with Oliver. Nikki was always the one for Ollie until the night that change it all and when he believed she could never be his. Here lies a beautiful story of unrequited love or is it? All Nikki wants is to be with Ollie and for him to realize he is worth the fight. All Ollie ever wanted was to love a girl and protect his girls. But when tragedy strikes Ollie cannot help but fell he is responsible, but i he really? Can he break from this rut and realize that 14 years later what he needs has always been there right in front of him just wanting to be claimed by him. Al Jackson write another truly emotion heart breaking story of first loves, loves lost and longing to be loved. In the last installment of this series be prepared to bring the tissues and be ready to experience all the feels your heart goes through along side these two.

Oh Ollie, what a tortured soul he is. This series follows a group of friends who's lives are intertwined thru friendship and tragedies.
Nikki has been in love with Ollie for as long as she can remember. There were the three of them since childhood, Ollie, Nikki and Sydney Ollie's sister. The three of them made a blood pact when they were children to always be together. As they grew older things changed and out of fear secrets were kept. Then Sydney goes missing and both of their lives can never be the same. Ollie feels responsible and can't move forward, Nikki just wants to be there for him, but can't risk the hurt.
In the mix are their group of friends, Nikki's sister and secrets that just might ruin the both of them.
This story is heartbreaking as much as it swoon worthy, but that is the mark that Amy leaves on all of her books and why I love them so much. I highly recommend this series and the story of Ollie and Nikki.

"I think that's what missing someone means. They're missing from you, not just from your life, but from your heart."

Lead Me Home, Ollie and Nikki, two childhood friends that were destined to become more until tragedy ripped it all away leaving behind shredded hearts and overwhelming guilt. Each of them move on with their hearts never feeling whole without the other.... Ollie always protecting Nikki in any way he can but feeling he will never deserve her and Nikki feeling she must hide her love to protect her heart from being broken again.
So much emotion just pours out of Ollie and Nikki's story, from their childhood friendship that blossoms into young first love and then being crushed so suddenly, then to present day watching them struggle and fight that love that is still as true as ever.... puts the heart through the wringer but in the end the heart is flying!!

Ollie... Nikki... I have anticipated reading this story from the beginning of this series, and AL did not disappoint one bit! The angst in this book, the feels, the hurt and pain.. it was so intense. I devoured this book in 1 sitting, it will give you all the answers to any question you have. I had chills and tears reading this and I would highly recommend this whole series to others, but this book by far is my favorite in the series. I would give it a 4.5 stars.

Ollie and Nikki have a past, a past that included serious heartbreak for both. They have been skating around each other for years.. but what happens when Nikki is in trouble and Ollie will finally show is protective nature towards her? Can they move on from the past when there future is so blinding?

You don't wanna miss what comes tumbling out the weeds in this story, for me the missing puzzle piece has made its way home finally! Get to one clicking and see what happens!

Lead Me Home is an angsty minefield of earth-shattering desire and breathtakingly raw emotions! Where two lost souls, fight to reclaim their lives, despite the tragic loss in their past and try to forge a new reality of sorts.

I normally do highly angst or extremely emotional reads. But let's face it when A.L. Jackson come along with a new book you just go with it!
Never fail Ollie and Nikki’s story stole my heart, only to shatter it, again in a million pieces, to break every single minuscule and fiber of my being,
It was as though I was crumbling with them. Sending me on a heart flooded journey, to a place where secrets come to life, where the earth just feels like its shattering beneath me, and my black heart seemed to tumble on an empty supply tear!
GOD, I WAS RUINED!!
THIS BOOK HAD TO IMPRISON ME!
Ravishing my heart with sorrow and filling it in the end with momentous joy!

This book was everything. Although the books in the Fight for Me series can be read as standalones – I found that Ollie’s story had this bit of anticipation that built up over the prior books which made it just so much more.

And sometimes the hype is just that – but not with this book.

There was chemistry between Ollie and Nikki, but until you get the details, you don’t understand just how much deeper their connection is. How far it goes back. How guilt and grief shaped their relationship.

AL Jackson can write an emotional love story like no other. This story was beautifully heartbreaking at times and I loved every second of it.

Two characters that were so broken, both surviving the only way they knew how.

My. God. This book. Read it. Just trust me. This series was an amazing journey and Ollie stayed my favorite of the group.

Lead Me Home is the last book in the Fight for Me series and gah, was I sad to see this series end. I put off reading this book, simply because I wasn't ready for leave these characters. Nobody knows how to rip out my heart, keep me on the edge of my seat, and piece broken characters back together like A. L. Jackson.

Oliver is a broken character. He's a character I was always curious about over the last two books and I couldn't wait to devour his story. I knew it was going to break my heart going in but nothing can prepare you for the true heartbreak of this character. After Ollie lost his sister years ago, he's never given up hope on finding her or blaming himself for her disappearance.

"She'd been a gift, always right there, waiting for me to accept it."

Nikki has always been in love with Oliver. That's never changed but she knows they will never been more than friends. After her best friend went missing years ago, crushing Ollie forever...she knows he will forever be lost and wandering. Even though she wants nothing more than to help him grieve and move on. But never forgetting. But Ollie can't have her. She's untouchable. Too good for him. She deserves better...more.

These two ripped my heart out. I honestly can never put into words how much I love A. L. Jackson's writing. She never fails to astound me in her ability to take me on a journey that will have me reeling for more. And even though this was the last book in the series, it was everything. I can't wait to see what Jackson writes next and I will be preparing to have my heart slayed.

?Top 10?

Sydney, the missing piece in this beautiful series, Ollie and Nikki all three carrying a piece they lost years ago. A.L. Jackson, have to say you have outdone yourself in this particular book. I have never felt so much heartache, pain and love like these two have gone through. In the past we saw glimpses of Ollie and now reading his story was like WOW. Readers will cry, laugh and might even be disappointed in what A.L. Jackson does in this book but it all comes down to Ollie and Nikki how they will overcome this. A.L. Jackson shows us why she is a master storyteller enchanting us in every book just like this one.

“You are everything I ever wished I could have.”

Well, it's OFFICIAL! A.L. Jackson saved the best for last in LEAD ME HOME...the final riveting installment in her breathtaking Fight for Me series. The first two books truly touched me to the core, but omg this one OWNED my heart and SLAYED my soul!

THE STORY:
Ollie Preston and Nikki Walters had been best friends since grade school and their friendship eventually blossomed into true ETERNAL love. But their fate is forever intertwined with the tragic day that Ollie lost his beloved sister, a day both will forever live to regret. And as part of his penance, this big, beautiful beast deprives himself of Nikki’s beauty, her light, her goodness….and most of all? Her love.

But all that changes 14 years later when danger darkens her doorstep and her fierce caveman protector swoops to the rescue, spiriting Nikki away for safekeeping. As she and Ollie join forces to slay each other’s dragons, can they mend their broken spirits and pave the way for a blissful future together? Or will their relationship forever be a casualty of that “horrible, horrible day?” Gotta read to find out but prepare for a heart pounding journey of epic proportions as these two fight VALIANTLY to find their way back to one another!

MY MUSINGS:
A.L. Jackson is a masterful storyteller—she writes with such poetic, stunning imagery and pure, unbridled feeling that you can’t help but be swept up in her stories. And LEAD ME HOME is no exception! She sure knows how to deliver a wallop, and though I knew the first two books were always leading up to this pivotal story, I was still somewhat unprepared for the SHEER INTENSITY OF BLISTERING EMOTION that this angst-ridden tale would evoke in me.

Ollie and Nikki’s soul-consuming, second chance at love story, in all its beautiful, chaotic glory, held my heart in a vice grip, beginning with that explosive prologue which impacted me so GUTURALLY that I had to take a breath before continuing! But proceed I did. From start to finish, the story was brilliantly woven, transitioning seamlessly between the present and the past. And the flashbacks, which depicted their poignant and ultimately gut-wrenching journey from when they were children leading up to the harrowing tragedy that forever altered both their lives, were depicted with such stunning, shiver-inducing emotion, I was perpetually on pins and needles!

SWOOOOOON! Ms. Jackson’s tortured, primally sexy Alphas ALWAYS bring me to my knees, and I do declare that Ollie is my favorite of hers to date! This gruff, grumbly, gorgeously-bearded beast, with his brawny, intricately-inked muscles, dark, brooding intensity and guilt-ravaged soul, held my heart in his huge hands!
I just adore how Ollie is all tough and menacing on the outside, soft and gently tender on the inside... the total package! This hot, hulking barkeep just OOZES masculinity and he will do anything to protect his own. Especially when Nikki, the stunningly beautiful spitfire he knows he can’t be trusted with yet cannot stay away from, is threatened. GAH... this poor brute is so profoundly lost, plagued with blinding rage and crippling remorse over his sister's Sydney's devastating disappearance. His singular focus has been on finding her and exacting revenge, but amid the suffocating darkness, Nikki remains his one glimmer of sunshine. His oasis in a storm of torment. He may have failed his sister but he WILL keep his girl safe at all costs.

As for Nikki, what a brave, feisty and endearing heroine! This hard-working psychology student has devoted her life to making a positive difference in the world, which sometimes causes her to make some reckless choices that of course drives Ollie CRAZY! However, even though she’s been HOPELESSLY in love with him since girlhood, Nikki not about to let this infuriatingly sexy Neanderthal boss her around—or trample over her heart again.

But…eeep…her gravitational pull toward her big, beautiful beast proves IMPOSSIBLE to resist!

Sighhhhh….I truly relished EVERYTHING about this story—the breath-stealing romance,, the edge of your seat drama, the torturous push and pull, the INSANELY HOT sexual tension that was so potent you could feel the electricity crackle between this combustible duo! But sob! Even though Ollie and Nikki’s love and lust runs so deep, there was just so much anger, grief, regret and soul crushing guilt that continuously stands between them.

But in a close-knit southern town like Gingham Lakes, NO ONE faces their struggles alone and they have a wonderful circle of friends to love and support them! I so enjoyed catching up with the couples and their adorable kids from the previous books and their fun, charming interaction added much needed levity to this uber intense story!

Speaking of turmoil, the dark and twisty mystery regarding Sydney’s disappearance reaches a spine-chilling crescendo in this final installment so BRACE YOURSELVES for the soul-shattering climax! But part of the majesty of each and every one of A.L. Jackson’s emotionally wrenching novels is that no matter how bleak things may appear, hope always springs eternal. And, rest assured, that the culmination of Ollie and Nikki’s long, arduous journey, where what was once lost is FINALLY found again, will have you weeping with Such. Sweet. Joy!

BOTTOM LINE:
LEAD ME HOME is a passionate, poignant and pulse-pounding tale rife with loss and sorrow, hope and healing, and I could not have dreamed up a more PERFECT conclusion for this exhilarating Fight for Me series. Now I cannot wait to see what this magnificent author has in store for us next!

Al Jackson totally saved the best for last in this incredible series. I knew from the beginning with Rex’s story that I was going to be gutted when it came to Ollie’s story. But, I was wrong. Gutted wasn’t the case for what I was reading what Ollie and Nikki went thru.

Nikki, Sydney and Ollie met when the girls started kindergarten and were best friends from the very first moment. Nikki and Sydney were best friends, sisters. Ollie was Sydney’s older brother and protector. He quickly became Nikki’s protector.

These three grew up thick as thieves. They did everything together. Sydney was the light in everyone’s whose lives she was in. Nikki was the shy one. Ollie the overbearing one. It was Sydney urging them, telling them everything would be OK. It was always the three of them against the world.

When Nikki’s 16 and Ollie 17 they’re feelings change for each other neither one is sure how to handle them. When they finally give into their feelings they decide to not tell their friends Rex, Kale and Sydney. They’re afraid of hurting Sydney’s feelings. But, before they get a chance to tell her Sydney goes missing and her or her body was ever found again. Fourteen years later and neither Ollie or Nikki have recovered from it.

Oliver has never gotten over the loss of his sister. He should’ve protected her. But it was because of him that she’s missing. He couldn’t protect her, but he’ll do everything to protect Nikki. He’s been in love with her his entire life and has never loved anybody but her. But, in his eyes he’s no good for her but nobody else is good enough for her. Ollie wants to stay away from Nikki but he can’t. When someone comes after her Ollie sees red and will do everything to keep Nikki safe. Even if it kills him in the process.

The night Sydney went missing Nikki lost the 2 most important people in her life. Sydney was missing and Ollie pushed her away but he was still close enough to see everything. The only man Nikki’s ever wanted was Ollie but he’s closed himself off since the night Sydney went missing. He pushed her away when she was 16. Then, he crushed her again a year ago. As much as she loves Ollie and wants to spend forever with him, Nikki can’t let him continue to use her to make himself feel better then push her away. But, when Ollie shows up at the wrong time she’s forced to move in with him.

Both Nikki and Ollie aren’t sure how they’re supposed to live in his apartment together. How’re they suppose to be so close together while trying to stay far away from each other. Plus, the anniversary of Sydney disappearance is right around the corner. Both aren’t sure if they’ll survive the other one.

Holy hell!! This book was so emotional it’s unreal. The way Al Jackson wrote this story. Unbelievable!!! She wrote Ollie and Nikki’s life together from their first initial meeting, to first kiss and she wrote the important parts of their lives at the perfect times in the book. She did this with Baz and Austin Stone’s storyline in the Bleeding Stars series and she hit another grand slam.

There was nothing I disliked about this book or series. I love the guys Rex, Kale and Ollie and the girls Rynna, Hope, Lilith and Nikki. Even Broderick had me lol again in this book. But, we see more of the guys and Nikki’s friendship from teenage years to now. All their lives were changed that night and finally getting answers. Al Jackson continues proving over and over again why she’s one of my favorite authors!!! I’m looking forward to her next book.

~5 +++++STARS~

Just when I think A.L. Jackson can’t get any better, because she is pretty much perfect, she proves me wrong! I’ve long been a fan of hers, but this book is my very favorite.! It’s also one of my all-time favorite reads, and it’s my TOP READ OF 2018!

I won’t go into too much about what the book is about. The characters are what drove the storyline for me. Let’s begin with my Ollie. He is the most complex and complicated characters I have encountered. Physically, he is imposing. He has been known to intimidate people just walking into a room. He is also very sexy, handsome, and protective. Underneath all that drop dead gorgeousness is a kind-hearted, gentle man, but he is also a very tortured soul. As he tells Nikki:

“Believe me, baby, the outside looks way better than the inside.”

He has spent his entire adulthood paying penance for the guilt he feels over the disappearance of his sister, Sydney, fourteen years earlier. He, Nikki, and Sydney were friends and so much more since they were young children.

“We are three. Forever and ever, you and me.”

His heart has always belonged to Nikki, and it still does even if he doesn’t think he has a heart left. He has worked tireless looking for his beloved sister, and he has no room for anything else. However, he can’t bear Nikki giving her heart to anyone else. He has to decide to either allow himself to live and love Nikki or let her go.

Nikki is light and sunshine compared to Oliver’s darkness and demons. She harbors guilt over Sydney as well, but she knows deep down Sydney would want her to live. She has been a matchmaker for her friends, but she has never been able to give her heart to anyone since it belongs to Ollie despite the fact that he has rejected it again and again. She is stuck like Ollie though. She is caught between her past and living in the present. Her mind keeps telling her to move on, but her heart just won’t listen. Ollie might be her protector, but she is his solace, if he would just let her be his everything.

“Breath. Life. The goodness and light in the middle of my dark, dark world.” ~Ollie

Ollie and Nikki aren’t the only main characters in the book, but Sydney, herself, is a pivotal part of the storyline. You will see how much of a part of Ollie and Nikki she is in the memories they share. So much of who she was is seen throughout the pages of the book. She is the one who has the power to heal them both if they would just remember how vital Sydney was and her love of life. Her favorite saying was,

“Fly, fly dragonfly.”

Now, for the story itself. It is an emotional read...I did cry several times...out of sadness and joy. This entire series has been one of my favorites. Each is a standalone, but each couple’s story is very different. In addition, I have seen just powerful the bonds that exists between each couple and their friends. There is also a mystery and a suspense as well as a steamy romance. What makes it so special for me are Jackson’s words themselves. I will describe it borrowing some of Nikki’s words about Ollie. I thought they describe her writing as well. Her words “touched me everywhere, heart, spirit, and soul.” I believe those words sums up just how much I loved this book!

This is the story I’ve been desperate for…the one that readers have been teased with since the beginning of A.L. Jackson’s Fight For Me series…the two character perspectives that can shed the most light on what happened fourteen years ago - the day that redefined Ollie, Nikki, Kale, and Rex’s lives and friendships, and led two people who seemed to be desperate to become more than just friends as far apart as they could possibly be while still being present in one another’s lives.

Oliver ‘Ollie’ Preston has been a shell of himself since the day he lost his sister and the life and girl he had always wanted. Fast forward 14 years and Ollie continues to battle his demons…continues to deal with an unrelenting conscience that tells him he is unworthy of happiness…unworthy of allowing the light to pierce the darkness that surrounds him…unworthy of forgiveness and absolutely unworthy of Nikki’s unselfish love.

Nikki Walters appears to be all sunshine and happiness - a woman whose selfless acts say so much more about her than the mask of happiness that she wears each and every day. But beneath Nikki’s cheery facade is a woman who is slowly dying inside…whose heart is breaking the longer Ollie shuts her out and refuses to build on the attraction that has always been between them.

Ollie and Nikki’s story is the most difficult one in the series to read, partly because the past has to be dealt with before a present can be established and a future can even become a possibility, and because Jackson reveals the painful truths of that day fourteen years ago, the heartbreaking flashbacks as well as the haunted and barely living present.

Ollie and Nikki’s decades of history does give them a fighting chance, but unless their issues are dealt with by frank discussions and honest revelations, they’ll never be able to lead each other home.

Every time I read an A.L. Jackson story, her lyrical prose and multifaceted characters immerse me into the storyline and allow me to experience every aspect of the characters’ lives as well as the menagerie of emotions felt, and because Jackson allows Ollie and Nikki to both tell the story through their separate point of views, readers are able to, in a way, be more objective than the characters themselves, understanding why they feel the way they do but also knowing that some of the self-doubt and self-recrimination is unwarranted despite the inclination to think otherwise.

I’m so sad to see Jackson’s Fight For Me series to be over, but she definitely allows readers to gain closure, offering true insight into who the three male leads are and what life experiences forced them to become the men we meet at the beginning of the series. And, while two of the three heroines are new to a group bound together by friendship and a shared history, without the other two women, I’m not sure if these tight knit gang would every be able to move forward regardless of their inner desire to do so.

Lead Me Home by AL Jackson was an amazingly emotional read.
Though I thought I was prepared for Ollie, I learned, rather quickly, that I was NOT! Not even close.
The pain, the regret, the guilt, the emotions...just all over the damn place!
Although I made an educated guess pretty early on in the book, I was not prepared to feel the way I did when everything came out.
Hell, I'm emotional again, just writing this review.
Ollie has definitely become my fave in this series, hands down.
I always knew I would love him, but never thought I'd love him this hard!
Like, Daniel, hard!!
Nikki was THE perfect companion for Ollie in more ways than we had ever realized. She knew, and felt, it all. Just as strong!
Go get this book people. But be prepared!!!

'I wanted him so badly, but sometimes it was the things we wanted the most that would destroy us in the end.'

Oliver Preston’s life was forever changed the night his sister disappeared fourteen years ago. He lost everything important to him that day, including Nikki Walters, the girl he’d loved since the moment they met. Since that day he’s dedicated his life to finding his sister and keeping Nikki safe from afar. When Nikki finds herself in trouble one day, Ollie can’t stay away anymore and steps in to make sure she’s protected. Having Nikki staying with him at his loft gives him peace of mind but it’s testing his control because the fire that’s always simmered between them is burning hotter than ever before and he’s finding it harder and harder to resist her. Can Ollie forgive himself enough to let the past go so he can be the man that Nikki deserves? Or will ghosts from the past resurface and threaten everything?

“You are so much better than what I’ve got to offer. I’m messed up.”
“What if I want to be messed up with you?”

I’ve been eagerly awaiting Ollie’s story since we first met him in Show Me the Way. All the books in this series can be read as standalones but the disappearance of Ollie’s sister, Sydney, has been a common tie between all three. We got to see how her disappearance affected all three men but, understandably, it’s affected Ollie the most and we finally get to explore all of that in this book. I’ve enjoyed all three books in this series but I really think this one might be my favorite. First off, it’s a great second chance love story that’s sexy and intense, there’s so much history, both good and bad, that they have to overcome in order to have a shot at a future. I enjoyed going along for that ride. Also, I really liked the suspense/mystery aspect to it. There are a lot of things going on in this one and I loved seeing how it all tied together and seeing whether or not my theories were correct or not. Lastly, I really loved seeing Ollie’s transformation over the course of this book. He was so angry and lost at the start but Nikki, and all his friends, really helped him find his way home. I think that Ollie will definitely please the alpha male lovers out there! He was bossy and gruff but he had a good heart and would do anything to help or protect his friends and family. I thought this was a really great way to finish off this series. If you’re a fan of the other books you definitely don’t want to miss this one. Even if you’re new to the Fight for Me universe but you’re looking for an emotional, suspenseful, second chance love story, then you should check this one out!

'I finally got that life was worth living.
It was worth cherishing.
And I had everything to live for.'

Nikki Walters has been in love with Ollie Preston all her life. For a while, she thought he loved her back and they would be together. But when tragedy hit, Ollie chose to wallow in his guilt and grief.
Fourteen years later, Nikki and Ollie seem to be friends, even though their relationship is strained. Nikki still loves him and can't move on with her life, but Ollie still holds on to the past.
When Nikki's heart can't take any more pain, can she finally move on? Or will finally Ollie realize that Nikki is his home?

Lead Me Home took me in a rollercoaster ride of emotions. This book is filled with drama, angst, and secrets, but also steamy scenes and light hearted moments. Nikki and Ollie's story broke my heart but by the end my heart was back in one smiling piece. This enthralling story made me cry, laugh, and scream, and I loved every word of it.
I loved the dual POV and the little glimpses into the past. The bond between Nikki, Ollie and Sydney was so beautiful and so strong and it was great reading how it all began.

On the outside, Nikki is a sweet but sassy mouthed woman, but inside she's hurting because of her feelings for Ollie and for the loss of her best friend fourteen years ago. She's very kind and has huge heart, always trying to help everyone. Although he hurt her several times, Nikki never gave up on Ollie and was always there for him.
Ollie Preston looks like a big bad boy, a beast of a man. He's all that, but he's also a very sweet man, a lost and grieving soul. He blames himself for his sister's disappearance and has been looking for her for the last fourteen years. He loves Nikki but believes he won't be enough for her and will eventually fail her. He'll do everything to protect the ones he loves, especially Nikki.

A.L. Jackson blew me away with Lead Me Home. Nikki and Ollie's story is perfect. It's all about forgiveness and moving on after tragedy. Her writing style hooked me from the first page and I couldn't put my Kindle down until I reached "The End". I loved all the drama, the angst, the secrets, the steamy scenes, the banter between Ollie and Nikki. And the characters? They are perfect because they are flawed and that makes them very relatable. I can't wait to read more from A.L. Jackson!

Answers to the past come, but with them comes a threat to the present. Will Ollie recognize the threat in time to save Nikki? Will he finally let go of the guilt and embrace the love?

This book, and this series, have been very good reads. They are full of real emotion - guilt, fear, grief, hope, joy, and love. Wonderful, strong, deep friendships. People that have had their world rocked by tragedy at very young ages, and have finally learned how to navigate through to the other side. Encouraging each other, leaning on each other, supporting each other. The mystery of Sydney is finally answered. And finally, these friends realize that they can't bury themselves in guilt for acting like the teenagers they were. Enjoy!

Magnetic. Heart stopping. Filled with passion and suspense but brimming with hope. Jackson's finale to the Fight For Me series is an amazing collaboration of regrets and second-chances. Ollie lost his best friend and sister years ago, heartbroken over the loss he's slowly pushed away everything he's loved, including the girl he's loved since he was a boy. Nikki understands the pain Ollie feels, she lost Sydney that night too. But what Ollie doesn't understand that his alienation has made her feel like she's lost them both and the pain is more than she can bear any longer. After a climactic night on the anniversary of Sydney's disappearance; Nikki makes a stand that she won't wait by Ollie side any longer. Just as she makes these decisions a darkness looms over her threatening to bring back the past that she and Ollie fought so hard to forget.

As they navigate their own emotions as adults, Nikki and Ollie have to figure out just who is after her. Nikki fights Ollie every step of the way, she has to protect her heart from the pain he could delve unto it again. But fate has other plans. As past and future collide (along with glimpses into that fateful night for Sydney) Ollie and Nikki grow stronger than ever. And when Ollie decides to fight for a future he never dreamed he deserved, their past brings down one final cleaver to threaten to break them once more.

I could not believe how engrossed I became in this story! Ollie and Nikki have an obvious connection that no one can deny. Watching them gravitate towards and away from one another was such heartbreak. I wanted to shout at Ollie to just give Nikki the happiness they deserve! The push and pull throughout this novel is done so beautifully that when Ollie finally accepts the truth, your heart will SOAR! No spoilers for the truth about Sydney but I will say to read between the lines and come to your own conclusions as the truth will SHOCK you. I was not prepared at all for the twist ending but I could not have read any faster, turning page after page to see just what would happen. A powerful, powerful 5 star read that is easily a top read for 2018!

"I received a complimentary copy of this book and have volunteered to leave a review."
When it comes to heart wrecking romance A.L. Jackson ought to be one of your choosed authors. The woman never cease to amaze me with how serious as a writer is. She always choose to deal with important life themes and mix them into the romantic stories she creates. She also, joins poetry in her narration creating the perfect tale for her readers. With Lead Me Home she once again proves how unique her talent is.

What Ollie and Nikki have to face has no similarities with the two previous books of the series. Lead me Home deals with a brutal situation. Reveals how cruel and unfair is when someone constantly blames themselves for all bad in their life; How bone-crushing is when the one you love and dream a future with is meant to brake your heart repeatedly. No, the second chance journey Ollie and Nikki are going to take won't have hearts and flowers all over the place. But it will be under the protective wings of a great, unconditional love.

A.L. Jackson, through Lead Me Home, presents a life shattering matter of a youngster disappearance and how everyone else's have changed after that. The author's language is eloquent and vibrant. Moving between the present and the past the author reveals bits and pieces of what happened back then. The storyline never misses its energy or minimizes the vehement passion that boils underneath Ollie's and Nikki's attraction. The intensity of emotions and the relationship between them is written perfectly. I want to mention that, A.L. Jackson has encompassed mystery and suspense into her story, this time. An interesting change out of the ordinary which I liked and I hope to see more of this side of hers soon. Well, everyone who has read Lead Me Home said it already. Thought I will say it myself as well. With Lead Me Home A.L. Jackson delivers her most addictive romantic suspense to date. And Yes, you ought to read this one.

3.5 Stars⭐⭐⭐?
Lead Me Home is the third book in the Fight for Me series but only the first one I have read. It's a romance heavy with emotion and there's a good amount of suspense mixed in.
It took me some time getting used to the writing style. Purple prose, singular word paragraphs and sentences made for a somewhat distracting read in the beginning, but eventually I was drawn into the story enough to ignore it.

I really liked getting to see into the past and present lives of these main characters, Nikki and Ollie. It really helped me connect and understand them more, as well as root for them to get their second chance as a couple.

In the present time there is a lot of push and pull between the two, and Ollie is the one most resistant to crossing the lines of friendship. You could really feel how much he struggled with his guilt. He wanted to live, to love, but felt because of the gravity of his mistakes in the past he didn't deserve anything good in his life. Nikki was always there for Ollie, supporting him, even when she told herself she couldn't do it anymore. Their romantic journey explored pain, loss, hurt, healing, forgiveness, and love.

I enjoyed the romance between Nikki and Ollie and I definitely want to go back and read the first two books in the series after meeting some of the characters in this story. Lead Me Home was an intense but sweet ride and if you enjoy angst filled friends-to-lovers or second chance stories, I'd say check it out!

Ridiculous. It is ridiculous how amazing this story is, ridiculous how incredible the author is, and ridiculous how much I got sucked into Ollie's story. Ridiculous. (I may have stolen inspiration for that from Ollie)

First off let me say I absolutely love the unique style the author has, she tells a story that draws the reader in but she has her own way of doing that and writing style I haven't seen anyone else have and I LOVE it.

Ok so going in I knew Ollie's story was going to be emotional because if you have read the other books (which you don't have to but I highly recommend because the other characters are in here) you know Ollie's story isn't a happy one and that it is actually tragic. That being said I was prepared for emotions but I wasn't prepared for the intensity that it had and how much he sucked me into his life. The chemistry between Ollie and Nikki was off the charts, they have known each other all their lives and have been in love with each other just as long but the tragic events of their past has Ollie building up so many walls that he doesn't believe he deserves any good much less Nikki in any way. I don't want to give too much away because not only was this an emotional read but there is a mystery within this book that will have you on the edge the whole time you are reading. I saw one reviewer state that she had so many highlights in her kindle from this book that she was amazed her kindle wasn't glowing, I feel that exact same. There are so many great quotes, lines, and statements throughout the whole book that my kindle was practically glowing too.

I definitely recommend this series but especially this book, Ollie's story is one for the ages he is gorgeous, swoon worthy, and will totally have you by the heart strings.

Favorite Quotes:

My attraction to him was so intense I wondered how he didn’t taste it in the air.

Human emotions were such tricky little things. They could be fleeting and fast, forgotten before we gave ourselves time to ponder them, or they wiggled their way in, so deep that it was impossible to imagine they hadn’t been part of us all along.

Lily was looking at me as if she were chipping pieces of me away and labeling each one as evidence.

I think that’s what missing someone means. They’re missing from you, not just from your life, but from your heart. And nothing, no matter how hard you try, really works or fully functions because you’re missing that piece.

My Review:

Add another heart-squeezing, steamy, and angst-filled romance to your TBR, as it was well worth the anguish; and the mystery that has plagued me all through this well-crafted series was finally, finally, yes finally solved as to what happened to Sydney. I was flailing more than usual for fear this book was going to be a total angst-fest - as the characters were in constant conflict with themselves as well as with each other for over two-thirds of the book. Oh, the agony! That much angst is just – tedious torment for me. Thank goodness Ms. Jackson tossed in some amusing testosterone-fueled banter between the well-bonded and tightly-knit he-men, steamy sensual scenes, a well-woven mystery, and a sexy, filthy talking, and cranky lead character that I could forgive anything for. Written in my favorite dual POV, I got past my pet peeve and sighed with satisfaction on reaching that delightful HEA.

Exceptional doesn't seem like a strong enough word for how incredible this book was for me. It defined friendship, devotion and love on so many levels. Ollie and Nikki have known each other since they were kids and grew to so much more, but a tragedy in their teens tears their worlds and relationship apart. Ollie has drowned his sadness and pain into his bar and trying to solve the mystery of this tragedy with booze, his cars and friends while keeping anyone and everyone far from his heart. He is protective of all those he cares about especially Nikki, he just doesn't want her to know about it. Nikki coped by immersing herself in work, friends and school. Her selfless nature makes her prone to try and be everything she can to those she meets and loves including, counselor, babysitter, and matchmaker (aka self titled "Orgasm Fairy")while putting her own needs and wants on hold. No one seems to be able to fill that gaping hole in either of their hearts like they once did for each other. A threat to Nikki's safety has Ollie's protective instincts on high so he insists she stay with him till the threat is gone. Once under the same roof they both find it hard to cool the heat and attraction they have for one another. This book contains heart and soul like no other, mystery and suspense, 2nd chance at love, friendships and so many other feels wrapped up into one amazing story. If you have ever questioned true love and devotion, this book will show you it in spades! I do not know how you do it Amy, but please keep these extraordinary books coming!!!!

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

Since I started this series I have wanted Olllie's book. And I knew it was going to be good, and i was not disappointed.
Ollie and Nikki have been dancing around each other since we started this journey.
Nikki has been in love with Ollie since she can remember but after what happened with his sister, it seemed like Ollie just closed himself off from love. He blames himself for what happened and he just cant move on when she never had a chance at happiness. And even though he can't seem to get Nikki out of his head he can't help watching her and protecting her and being the one she needs when she is in trouble.

Nikki feels like she has waited long enough and she is tired of waiting for Ollie to decide what he wants. She can't deal with the hot/cold attitude he has towards her and if she can't have him all the time then she wont settle for anything.

"I don't want to be your duty, Ollie. I can't be a sin you're trying to make amends for."

Even though this book is a romance story, it still had so much angst and mystery and suspense, especially with Ollie trying to find out what happened to his sister. And trust me this book will keep you on the edge of your seat, especially if you are like me and have waited for Ollie and Nikki since the beginning.

This book should have come with a warning--a warning that tissues needed to be on-hand while reading this second-chance romance that kept tugging at my heart to the point that it's permanently claimed a piece of it by the time I got to the end. Just like the books before it, Lead Me Home is a standalone in bestselling author A.L. Jackson's Fight for Me series but it remains connected to the other books because of the recurring cast of main characters throughout. I know we shouldn't play favorites, but I can't help it: this book is my favorite one in the series, and that's saying a lot because every single book in this series has proven to be a consistent standout.

Okay, so while this is a standalone, I'm still going to recommend you read the books in the series in order, and my main reasoning here is that all the main characters in the Fight for Me novels do exist in each other's lives, and Sydney's disappearance affects more than just Ollie and Nikki. Another recommendation? Have a box of tissues nearby. A good portion of Ollie and Nikki's story is heartbreaking but there's that sliver of hope that's always there, and it grows as their tale moves forward, which is also something the others books have in common. Lead Me Home is one of the most memorable second-chance romances I've ever read. Five-plus stars. ♥

I patiently waited for this book after reading about Ollie in Rex's book. I just needed to know his story, his feelings and his pain. BOY did I get all of those things. I actually felt them with the words that I read in this book.
This book took hold of me from the first word and I still wanted more at the end. I thought that the end was good, and it did not leave me confused or sad or mad... it just left me wanting to follow them further and see how many more wonderful things that The Beast and his Sunshine had in store.
The story was sad, and fun and cute and sweet and allll of the things in between. I found myself with chills and tears and sometimes even a sweet smile. Ollie was a soft sole who had such a heavy burden to carry. I wanted him to relinquish that pain the those around him that could help carry that burden, if only he could allow that.
I loved how this series has such an underlining of forgiveness. How in real life we all make decisions that shape our future better and sometimes worse and we all deal with them different. Each character in these books is the same way. I love that.
I also adore a happy ending. I won't spoil it, but there is a HEA and for me, that is what Ollie and Nikki needed and deserved.
Nikki.Fuckin.Walters and her Beast.
Well done!

I don’t think I’m ever emotionally prepared for an A.L. Jackson romance. They are truly a spellbinding emotional roller coaster. Seriously, my heart can’t take it all in. Lead Me Home is the fins installment of the series, and I think it’s the most beautiful, heart wrenching romance I’ve read to date. LIKE EVER!

There is so much to this story, the depth, the layers that span years, the complexity of the relationships are stunning. The writing translates into a rainbow of colors and emotions as we develop into a story that will completely break your heart. I honestly wasn’t sure I’d recover; I have a sensitive heart. However, true to Amy’s writing style, the story came full circle in the most brilliantly stunning way, piecing me back together and collectively healing the characters at the same time.

Ollie and Nikki are truly unique characters. Their love and loyalty bind them together through years of being apart. Their journey of healing is sooo spectacular. I basically held my breathe the entire book, hoping for peace for these wounded souls. Lead Me Home is a gut wrenching romance, absolutely stunning and overwhelming. But a story that is a MUST READ and a gorgeous way to finish the series.

Oh my heart!! “We are three. Forever and ever, you and me” Oliver, Nikki & Sydney (Oliver’s sister) were best friends growing up. Sydney went missing one night 14 years ago. Oliver & Nikki we’re love. Oliver is so torn up over Sydney’s disappearance that he pushes Nikki away. He didn’t protect her, he doesn’t trust that he could be worthy of Nikki.

Fast forward 14 years...Sydney is still missing and Oliver and Nikki are still in Gingham lakes practically avoiding each other even through they have several mutual friends. Oliver is still keeping an eye on Nikki, even now, and is in the right place at the time. Nikki isn’t ready to accept his help. She’s still in love with him and needs to guard her heart.

What I loved most about this book is it so well written and it has all the feels. I suggest having lots of time to read because once you start you won’t be able to stop. Make sure you have tissues ready because at around 80%, your heart is going to be broken in half. I don’t want to say anymore because I don’t like to post spoilers.

It’s sad to say goodbye to the characters from Gingham Lakes. I’ve really enjoyed all of their story’s. I can’t wait to see what comes next from this author!

Could I love this Ollie and Nikki's soul-stirring love story any more than I do right now? Sure, but I am confident that would be veering into some weirdo, creepy, too many cats type territory. I will not go down that rabbit hole--- yet!
SIGH, needless to say, I am mush.
Written with such compassion, narrated the same, my investment in this particular storyline and these characters ranks close ( mind you just close ) to a freakishly fictional mental ward state.
A.L Jackson captures the essentials of the human soul, letting the good, bad, the ugly be outnumbered by the sunshine but not before sending people such as myself into a blubbering state hugging throw pillows!

The one thought that kept replaying through the whole Audio- this was a story that needed telling.

Lead Me Home is a powerful, heart mending, sensuous, thought-provoking, maddening, emotional, sensory overload IT. IS. Fanfreakingtastic! Glutton for punishment, I am ready to listen to the audio already again!

Narration: Andi Arndt and Joe Arden: Perfection! The emotions brought to Ollie and Nikki's characters spot on! Thanks for making me cry even more!

I have ABSOLUTELY loved the Fight for Me series by A.L. Jackson and it has been an emotional and heartwarming journey to get us to this point of the series. And now, we FINALLY get to Ollie and Nikki’s story. The books in the series are COMPLETE standalones with interconnected characters who are all friends. Though we have had some backstory on Ollie and Nikki in the previous books in the series, but the author does a great job on ensuring that the readers of the series do NOT feel lost and can be read as a standalone without having to go back to get caught up with Nikki and Ollie. After reading the first two books in the series, I could have NEVER imagined that this would be Ollie & Nikki's story and what I knew about them did NOT prepare me for the emotional enormity of this book which is an epic epic epic love story. I could sit here and tell you about their journey, as individuals as well as a couple, but my words could NEVER do this book justice. Lead Me Home is the type book that you need to read straight through for a few uninterrupted hours. It will completely take you hostage.... I LIVED and LOVED it!!!! YOU just need to prepare yourself for Oliver Preston!!!! This beautiful tortured man is EVERYTHING!!!! I have loved all of the books in this series, but this one is by far my favorite so far!!!!

Lead Me Home was absolutely the conclusion I was hoping for in the Fight for Me series. AL Jackson delivered such a heartfelt second chance romance. Without a doubt it was emotional, angsty, and suspenseful. Everything I desire in a book!

Ollie’s life changed forever 14 years ago from the loss of his sister as well as Nikki’s life from the loss of her best friend. Ollie lived with so much guilt because he was supposed to protect her. It’s clear that both Ollie and Nikki felt so much pain with Sydney’s loss. With the possibility of someone hurting Nikki, Ollie makes it his mission to protect her.

I loved witnessing the obstacles that Ollie had to overcome in battling with the past and forgiving himself in order to move forward.

AL Jackson answered all the questions of what really happened so many years ago and delivered the perfect conclusion to the series. I loved that AL took us from the past to present and I also enjoyed the dual POV’s.

Although every book in the series can be read alone, I recommend that you read them in order. Do yourself a favor and pick up this amazing series!
