City meets country.
Rowen is sent to the country to stay with her mothers friend.
Jesse goes to the bus station to pick her up and take her to the farm. He starts talking to her and making her feel like a real person.
Rowen had a crappy past growing up and so did Jesse so he can relate to her and try to help her out.
A good summer read. Looking forward to the next chapter in their lives.

Rowen is spending her summer working on a ranch in Montana. It`s not her idea of a good time, but it's the only way her emotionally absent mother will pay for college. Rowen is expecting a horribly boring summer, until she meets Jesse. Jesse and his family try to break down the walls Rowen puts up to keep everyone away. Rowen likes Jesse, but is unsure if she'll be able to let him in.
This was a beautiful story. I loved setting the change take place in Rowen.

I liked the characters and thought they were intriguing. The plot is what really brought my attention. It was about survival and looking within yourself. Jesses as a very strong character that rowen needed. She needs a strong support system which the Walker family did for her. I hope her determination to overcome her insecurities stays that way because it takes more than a summer to beat emotional trauma.

This was a really enjoyable book. The main characters and all of the supporting characters were great. I love Jesse and Rowen. Rose was also a very influential character.
There were not a lot of editing issues, but the author does spell Rowen two different ways at the beginning of this book.
Overall, I would recommend this book.

Probably one of the best spring/summer reads yet. It made me smile, laugh, and cry. Nicole Williams pulled off the detached hate the world teenager. Some authors just throw it in a book for a twist at the end. In this case you followed Rowen through the book trying to find the light that had gone missing...her true happiness. The best part is she found it in not just Jesse, but the whole family. This is one of my favorites and I will be looking for other books from this author as well. Thank you for the amazing read!

I really enjoyed this book. It's definitely an easy read, but I really felt the connection between Rowen and Jesse. This book made me laugh and cry and I didn't want to put it down. It doesn't end with a cliff hanger, but I knew the story could continue so I went to the authors web site and she is writing a second book. I'm very excited because I loved these characters. I highly recommend it!

I usually read books with a supernatural, paranormal twist to them. After seeing so many positive reviews I just had to read this book and I'm so glad I did. I really did think it was amazing. I was sucked in from the very beginning and loved Rowen, Jesse and Garth. I caught myself smiling as I read, and had tears in my eyes at other times. Couldn't put it down and I would definitely recommend this book. On to Near & Far

I could only give this book four stars because it was very very slow to get exciting and actually keep my attention. But it did! And I got into it, it had its hilarious moments actually. There were also some horribly cliche moments. But all in all I'm happy I stuck through !!

I wasn't looking for another book, but was interested when I saw the rating on this one. It's difficult for a book to get so many perfect reviews. I wasn't disappointed! Very descriptive and fast moving. I enjoyed all the characters. I think it really hit home for me because I have a similar relationship with my mother for pretty much the same reason. It would be great to read Josie and Garth's story. Lucky find, this book!

I honestly smiled through the first few chapters. Rowen is a girl with a bad past and a horrible mother. She's sent away to her mother's former best friend's ranch for the summer to prove herself. There she learned about unconditional love, acceptance and how to move beyond her past. I LOVED this book! I am definitely pursuing the rest of the series.

I really loved this and even though the ending was absolutely perfect I would love to read more about Rowen and Jessie. I truly hope the author writes more on their love story.
This is a must read for anyone who enjoys this genre. I very rarely re-read a book it needs to be really exceptional for me to do that. But this book definitely falls into the re-read category!

I absolutely love this book. I really empathized with Rowen in this story. In a sense she kind of reminds me of me...without the piercing and tattered tights. What we deserve should get in the way of love, no matter what. We have to put our pasts behind us and take advantage of what is in front of us. There love story wasn't easy. It had a lot of bumps and cracks, but love sustained. They both overcame their pasts and moved forward in love. The story was well written and I strongly recommend this story to anyone who is looking for an inspirational romance. I know it inspired me.

I hadn't realised this as classified as young adult. Darn good thing too, or this 74 year old gal would have missed out on reading a well written as well as a terrific story.
I'm looking forward to continuing saga about Jesse and Rowen.
I highly recommend this book, no matter your age. A good story is ageless!!!

It really needs an epilogue..it ended much too fast! This is my only reason for not giving this book 5 stars. The story and the cowboy holy hotness! Jesse is GORGEOUS, one fine specimen on cowboy and Rowen what a lost soul, with a gorgeous zing that has you in love immediately. This book is so well written and finished with no cliffhanger but I wanted to much more if these 2!

One word: JESSE
A definite must read. How the author writes as well as the characters will keep you hooked and entertained. I've read SEVERAL books with many great guys. But after a few weeks I forget about them since I am focused on a new characters, or more specifically, book guy. However, Jesse is unforgettable.....he's perfect.... and he's patiently waiting for you to meet him (:

Rowen Sterling & Jesse Walker, Rowen moves to try to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and lives at her Aunts in dwelling in Montana. The Aunt is certainly one character you will not forget in a hurry. Rowen is trying to escape her past, & Jesse is certainly trouble when he walks into the picture. The dramas keep you reading. Well worth the time to read.

I normally don't enjoy reading about teenage love as I am out of the age zone when you can relate to it. However from the first page I absolutely loved the smart and sad character who was dying for her mother to love and support her. With lots of wit and fun, but quite deep and serious at times, the book had my undivided attention for the few days I spent reading it. Decided to even keep it on my kindle in case I would like to re-read or recommend it to my friends.

This was an amazing adventure for one young girl trying to find herself and one young man waiting for her to find him. I couldn't get enough and I am so excited to read the next installment of this series. the writing was great, the characters were solid, - and the storyline was not new--but fresh and exciting.

This was an amazing, feel good story. I mean, who wouldn't love a story about falling in love with a hot cowboy who saves the day. I personally would have liked a little more "steam" in the sexy moments but that is just me. I really appreciated that this was a stand alone novel that took me on a great ride and had a happy ending. Going to bed with a smile.

Love the bad girl finds acceptance and love theme.
The main characters were young so it seemed juvenile at times - like when they told each other they loved each other - it seemed like they just hooked up for that so it was hard to take their live seriously sometimes.
Enjoyed the book a lot, though.
Easy read and hard to put down.

I absolutely loved this book! A city girl trying so desperately to conceal her broken spirit gets sent to the Walker's ranch for the summer so she can prove to her mother that she is "worthy" of her love and money. Little did anyone know that Jesse Walker would be picking her up from the Greyhound terminal and showing her how to find herself.

The opening paragraph was interesting. But then it went downhill so fast. I found the writing style was hard to concentrate on. It felt like the author tried so hard to make Rowen sound witty but it came out like I had no idea what she was talking about. I even missed the part where she told her name.
She was a broken girl who thought she deserved what she got and turned herself into self absorbed who think everything was about her. Like when the bus guy asked her if the bag was her. The bickering on the truck between Jesse and Rowen was too dragged for my taste. I got bored in no time. I've tried because I hate it when I wouldn't be able to finished a book I've started. But even skimming felt like too much dilemma. Rowen bubbling with herself was boring and somethings she thought to herself was better left untold. The way she had opinion with everything when someone talked to her distracted me from the story. I didn't want to know what was she thinking every time someone talked to her. It made the flow of the story paused.
I couldn't stand this kind of character and the writing style anymore so I quitted the book at 16%

The 2 main characters, Kerling, jesse and third most outstanding character, Black, are birds of one flock...all having suffered abuse or been denied parental love in early life. In this story, each of them finds their self..and at the end of the story, each finds love for their supposed enemy...Black for jesse by saving him...kerling for josie. It is a powerful story that kicks off rather slowly till midway. The mystery is still cant picture kerling as clearly as ican picture the others!
Mystery is, even by the end, i still cant picture kerl

Cowboy meets city girl. This is a sweet little love story. Rowen is sent away by her horrible mother (a completely despicable woman) to a ranch in Montana to "earn" the right to attend the college of her dreams. Along the way, she finds love and acceptance from the Walker family who take her in. The story is entertaining and sincere.

I loved this book from the first page, that being said it was predictable and that's why I only gave it four stars. Then again who cares about predictable when you are lost in a story about being young and in love? If anything this is a great story to be envious of. Makes me wish I could go back and do a few things over again in my own life.

This book is different from what I usually read. Many parts of the story are closer to reality than I like to face in a book. I could do without some of the more graphic language, but that's the world we live in. The story was sad in some ways, but also hopeful. It's worth reading.

I really liked this book, it was amazing to read. I also liked how there was a hot cowboy thrown into it. It was kinda sad when rowen had to leave at the end. I would highly highly recommend this book to anyone that loves romance, sad, drama. It had me wanting to read more.

Great characters, funny too. Great banter between the characters. 2 unlikely people get together. It is very sweet & touching. If you are looking for hot sex, this isn't for you. There is sex but it is more implied than described in detail. But still, so good!

Well this book was beautiful, i just want my very own Jesse Walker in my life, I'd even settle to have him just as a friend as his loyalty is unwaving. Buy this book you won't regret it, Nicole Williams has written a gorgeous piece which touches on some heavy issues but as always tastefully done. I'm so thankful for having read this but the only thing missing was an epilogue as i was left wanting just that little bit more. I don't want to say what the story entails as I think it's best to go fairly blind into books so you have nothing predetermined. Thanks Nicole Williams for writing such a great book!

Another good read from Nicole Williams. She didn't disappoint in this book about finding more in yourself in just the broken pieces, letting go, learning its ok to let people in, and loving and being loved. The only thing I really really wish that Nicole put in this book was a epilogue. I would of liked to see where the main characters ended up and how they truly grew. But over all it was a sweet story with some dark parts. It was actually nice for a change that the female character wasn't the who was the virgin to.

Wow...Love the Cowboys!! Jesse and Rowen are so perfect together. I loved their story and the back story to each of them. Jesse is so swoon worthy, a total Cowboy gentleman. The Walker family is such a breath of fresh air. They are laid back and down to earth unlike Rowen's bitch of a mother. I am excited to see what happens next with this awesome couple.
