A wonderful adventure story. It's an interesting twist on the Peter Pan origin that makes Peter understandable and likeable. It addresses the back story of Hook and Peter, and explains the origin of Neverland itself. I would recommend this book to any young reader. I can't wait to read the next one.

The short chapters help the story move along, but a VAST MAJORITY of the book is just ONE BIG PIRATE SHIP FIGHT. It got SUPER boring after reading page after page after page of the same content. The writing techniques are the same in every chapter. I would of liked to finish it, but I couldn't of without falling asleep. Waste of money!!!

You have got to read this book. Probably the best book I have ever read. Such a great book. I think anyone over ten years old could read this book. If you want to know what it is about it is like Peter pan but with a couple twist here and there.

Exciting and fun prequel to Peter Pan. My kids (ages 9 and 13) loved this book. The plot was exciting and the story was entertaining as it answered many of the mysterious questions about Peter, Molly, Captain Hook, the Lost Boys and (of course) Tink. It was a long book but the short charters make it wonderful for reading out loud before bedtime. We enjoyed reading this book over several days as each chapter seemed to be exciting.

This is a great prequel to the Peter Pan franchise. Well written, good for all ages- not too complicated for a young child to be read aloud to, and interesting enough to keep an older child or adult's interest.

The book arrived promptly in good condition. I'm excited to read a new series. A friend who recommended it explained the book series as a prequel/backstory to how Peter Pan & Hook became who they later are in the Peter Pan story. My only complaint is a small one. When I went to remove the sticker from the back of the book (I don't like leaving price tag stickers on my books, I'm a bit particular that way) it tore a little bit off the cover. That aside, the book should be a really fun read.

Some have called this a "prequel" -- I prefer to see it as a historical series of events that occured in JM Barrie's time, and was the inspiration for his "Peter Pan".

I hope for more collaborations from these two gents...it was a delightful ride /read!

This is a cute story, but certainly misses being the great story that the original Peter Pan is. It misses the important point, which is that Peter refuses to grow up. It blames his condition on a magic spell.

I remember reading this book in middle school. Its just as good now as it was then.
I recommend this book to all Peter Pan fanatics everywhere! It truly captures the spirit and magic of the original, while put a new, fresh twist into it.

What a beautiful set! Faithful to the endearing and magical Peter Pan, this set is packed with adventure! Great stories by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson and exquisite paintings and drawings by Greg Call. I highly recommend this set.

We love these books! I started reading them to my sons before bedtime. Short chapters make it easy to make it through reading aloud to 5 young boys. The story keeps them hanging on and wanting more... great way to develop a love of reading!

The story line was good and the plot well-executed. However, there are a couple of issues here I'd like to make. First, it is painfully obvious that the authors are inexcusably ignorant on the subject of sailing ships and tactics. A few hours reading of any of C. S. Forrester's nautical tales would have cured them of making many of the more egregarious mistakes in the book. This is of importance as much of e story's plot hinges on the sea and seamanship.

Second, there is definitely a bludgeon with P.C. In it there. The story goes on and on, unnecessarily, IMHO, about how bad England treated the Mollusks. It is very hard to reconcile the chief of the Mollusks' obviously highly educated background with his assertion if being pressed by the Royal Navy.
