Rumble Fish was a vey exciting book. This book my be written for young people, but the older people can really read it and put the words in your head and really think about what they mean. The book is written so that young minds can enjoy the book, but also written for older teenagers to put them to use. In Rumble Fish, Rusty, the main character, tries to be just like his older brother. Rudty's brother name is "Motorcycle Boy." He is known to be the toughest boy in the town. Rusty-James has a side kick named Steve. Steve and Rusty are one. He thinks the only way to resolve a problem is to fight about it. Rusty gets expelled from school and breaks up with his girlfriend all in the same day. Then one night Rusty goes out with his brother and he does'nt know where they are going. They get to the pet shop and? One night when Rusty-James and Steve need some help somone is not there? Rumble Fish is worth your time to read. You really can relate this to your life if you have a problem with fighting because you can take some notes out of this book, and maybe turn your life around. In some people's eyes the only way to reso,ve something is to fight it out. Grow up because there are other and better ways to solve problems other than fighting. Maybe when these people lean the better ways this world will be a better place.

I really liked the Outsiders but this book was not very good. It seemed liked it was rushed through the whole thing and I didnt feel a connection with any of the characters. I was halfway through the book and it seemed like nothing had happened except a fight and some walking around. At the end I was confused and disappointed. It seemed like it just cut short and I wanted to know what happened to Rusty.(I cant even remember the second part to his name and I just finished the book this morning, thats how unconnected it was)I would not recomend this book to anyone. The Outsiders was sooooo much better!

I bought this book yesterday in a used bookstore. I read the entire thing today. It's as exciting as The Outsiders. I can't wait until my children are old enough to read this true to life story of a young boy growing up alone, depending on himself and his tough guy image.

While this book was exciting and interesting and kept me reading until the very end, I was confused.

He wanted to be like his big brother so badly, yet he still thought that he was "crazy"? I don't understand that.

Yet again I don't understand most things, I still think this was a really cool book. Worth the read, very short. Yup.

I really enjoyed reading this again. I cannot remember the characters being so young, but then perhaps I was young when I first read it!
Great book; this and the other S.E.Hinton books shaped my growing up.

Rumble Fish made me anxious to find out about Rusty James and why he always fought for his "bad boy" reputation. The motorcycle boy is Rusty James's older brother and Rusty wanted to be an idol like his brother. This story took place in a big city.
Rumble Fish had an unpredictable ending that made me sad.I would recommend this book, but I wish it was more like the "Outsiders".

The main characters name is Rusty James and he has had a troubled childhood. The other characters were his big brother known as the motorcycle boy and his best friend Steve. It gives you an idea of what it was like as a teenager growing up in the projects. It was in the projects of a somewhat big city. It keeps you guissing and could change your life.

After reading "The Outsiders", I decided to read "Rumble Fish". This book was the greatest. I just love how the story involves a teenager who looks up to his brother Motorcycle Boy and how he gets into all these illegal activities like fighting and stealing. I would recommend this book to any kinds of reader who likes to reading.

rumble fish is a story about rusty-james, steve, and the motorcycle boy. the book was boring at times when the charaters where narrating back and forth. i found the book interesting when rusty-james was fighting or in a conflict.it took place in a big city. it was not really predictable.
