I love this book. It is a wonderful introduction to meditation for kids and parents alike. It is a "teacher's edition" book for the parent, explaining all the exercises on the c.d. I recommend reading through it first and getting all theory. Really great find!

Recommended to my by a well-known psychologist - an excellent purchase. I bought this with the idea of helping my kids (9 & 10) learn about mindfulness and incorporate it into their lives. And, it is perfect for that - the activities/meditations are perfect for kids. In fact, the book gives you a new language to use with your kids which is valuable in and of itself.

But, what really took me by surprise is that I have found myself recommending this book to adults as a great introduction to the concept of mindfulness. Several friends have rushed out and bought. They have loved it and are now finding new ways to practice this in their lives.

This is a creative, imaginative way to engage children (and adults) in mindfulness. I would recommend this book to anyone for whom mindfulness is a new idea. I will recommend it to friends and family.

My daughter is a little high strung, unfocused and extremely creative. This book has helped her calm down for her minute-math tests at school and helped to keep her focused on homework. We are going to try to keep this ball rolling for sure!

A friend recommended this when I told her about my son experiencing some anxiety issues from having a scary incident when he couldn't breathe. After this incident, he would occasionally have some episodes where he would start getting nervous and think he couldn't breathe from coughing, hiccuping or any kind of feeling where his breathing didn't seem "normal".
I put this cd on for him every night before bed for about a month and I can tell you that it helped him TREMENDOUSLY. He no longer has these little PTSD episodes and whenever he does start to feel a little nervous, he will calmly ask for me to put this on for him as he crawls into bed, and that is a rare occasion. Highly recommend.

I misunderstood this book (obviously did not read the description. I thought it was a book FOR children. I'm sure its great for parents, I just have little time with two small children and wanted a book for my son to give him ideas of how to relax and learn self-distressing skills.

My boys loved this book and the audio exercises that go with it. We do it together as a family and I really believe they are getting lifelong tools they can use to help stay centered and deal with their feelings.

Nice book about teaching kids to be mindful and meditate recommended by a friend that is a psychiatrist. I haven't been able to get my daughter interested in trying it with me and I think it would be helpful to start when kids are younger like 5-6 years old when they are more likely to cooperate, but all ages can use it. The CD has been very help.

Very in depth coverage of understanding how do deal with life's challenges through mindfulness techniques. Could be very helpful for school psychologists, parents, or teachers. It shares effective strategies that help you sort out what is going on in your life.
Definitely meant more for partner use, (Parent-Child, Licensed Professional with child, or Teacher and child).
It uses in depth details to be mindful, sit still, and act as an observer of your environment to make sense of your reality.
On page 50 is a great simple tool using laughter, and mindful walking to really appreciate body senses and the awareness of what is taking place as your whole body is moving.

Wasn't impressed. I've been studying mindfulness for close to a decade. This wasn't anything new. I was very much hoping and expecting that this book would be tailored to teaching children. However in my opinion the writing is tailored to teaching adults about mindfulness rather than teaching kids. It contains some stories that give fair examples of disxlosure regarding how mindfulness helped a person through a tough situation, but that still lies off the mark in my opinion of actually teaching children mindfulness. Even the audio cd was disappointing; from her monotone voice that definitely won't engage my children, to the manner in which she gives instruction which again imo more suited for adults than kids.
