Crusie has spun an interesting web of love, lies and chocolate. It was so good I told my husband what was happening as I was reading. It got to the point of him asking me what it happened in the book while he was at work.
The only annonying factor was the phrase, "oh, hell." It really got on my nerves. Treva and Maddie both used it entirely too often. Either Crusie meant couldn't think of another phrase or I missed the underlying point completely. Either way, the book is a page turner, and would make a great movie with Sandra Bullock and Nicholas Cage. Any producers out there? This could be a blockbuster!

I really enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and written with a sense of humor. I had a hard time putting it down. Romance, humor, and a little bit of mystery with a great ending.
Would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a light, whimsical read.

If you've already discovered Jennifer Crusie, you don't need me to tell you to find this book now. If you haven't discovered her yet (try to keep up, okay?), you're in for a real treat. TELL ME LIES isn't laugh-out-loud funny -- it's howl-at-the-moon funny.

I really enjoyed this book. Many people do live by the code of "what will the neighbors think?" I found this book to be truthful about that one point. The characters are written very well. Some of them, I could see in people around me. I have not read a book in a long time that could combine sexy and funny as well.

I was laughing within the first 10 minutes of starting this book. And I couldn't put it down after I started it. Not much of a review I know but just the words I loved it and am looking for more of her books should tell you something.

I read _lots_ of fiction, some good, some mediocre, but I can think of maybe five books in the past several years that have caused me to cancel social engagements so that I could keep reading. This was one. A mystery, a romance, and a funny and sweet look at mother-daughter relationships. I can't wait for Crusie's next!

And that's saying something. Jennifer Crusie's first venture into so-called hardcover respectability is really a triumph. Brand new readers and her many, many category fans will be equally delighted with Maddie and C.L., Treva and Emily, and all the other colorful denizens of Frog Point. You want laugh-out-loud humor, hot sex, murder, intrigue, and lovable characters growing up emotionally before your very eyes? Do yourself a favor--read TELL ME LIES.

If you like mysteries and romances you get both in this book.
I thought the book started slow but picked up as it went.
Maddie (the main character) learns that honesty is better than lies.
This is a good book and will keep you turning the pages.

call me crazy, but I am fairly certain that Jennifer Crusie is the reason I wake up in the morning. Is that so horrible? But really, this book was just superb, but one can only wonder how many more protagonists in JC books will be art teachers. Well, I guess you shouldn't mess with a good thing. And folks, this book is THE good thing.

This book has sex, love, money, murder, scandal, family, lies, and more. What else does it need? Crusie captures your interest immediately with the heroine, Maddie Faraday, finding a pair of crotchless panties under in her husband's car. Needless to say, they aren't hers. While this book won't become a classic, it was definitely a good read.

Excellent, fun, exciting, sexy, intriguing book. It kept me very interested throughout and I would suggest this book to anyone. This book is a laugh-out-loud story, which in fact I did laugh out loud. Can't wait to pick up another one of her books - this was my first Jennifer Crusie book.

I believe that "Tell Me Lies" was Jennifer Crusie's first novel. I read it and became an immediate Crusie fan, and have read every new book of hers soon after release.
Crusie has a remarkable ability to draw her characters both believably and amusingly. The plots are not complex, but the humor is wonderful and the sex scenes are pretty hot too.
I recommend "Tell Me Lies" and any other Crusie novel you can get your hands on. I can't wait for "Faking It" to arrive in August!
