The same Stuart Woods, nothing new, no creativity just good old Stone Barrington and his posse. I guess what got Stuart Woods here is keeping him here, he does not venture out he sticks to what he knows and what is successful for him. I would like to see him develop other characters and themes.

This is a poor formula work that doesnt work. One of his worst, and I am a HUGE fan. The plot is ridiculous and seems to have been thought up simply to give the characters something to do. Really disappointed in this latest in the series. Not worth the price.

This was one of Stuart Woods better books of late. There is a pretty good plot and an interesting cast of characters. There is less pointless sex and more intrigue. I would recommend it to any Stuart Woods fan even though there is still some things that are unrealistic..Peter is too perfect and gets his way too much..And he occupied too much of the book unless Woods is setting the scene for Peter to be an important part of another story.

I recently started reading books by this author and I fell in love with his writing. The chapters are short and every book can be read within a matter of time. Every book is full of suspense and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I cannot get enough of his writings. Love the characters Stone Barrington and Holly Barker.

I always have enjoyed Stuart Woods novels. However, Severe Clear was somewhat disappointing to me in that there appeared to be less intrigue, less action and more yawning for me. He's getting older and so am I. I should therefore shut up.

I bought this book because of a friend's recommendation of Stuart Woods. Good thing I did. His writing is very smooth and flows nicely. He introduces many characters through the story and writes very well so that the reader knows them all. I enjoyed all parts of the book and want to read more of his books .

I really enjoyed the story. the only problem, I read the book right through and then have to wait a long while for the next one. I really like the Stone Barrington series. They are always good reading.

For those who have given up on the Barrington series - guys, come back! This one is great. Well written, and not such an homage to lives off the rich and indulgent as have been recent offerings.
For those new to Woods, this is a good stand alone novel, with several characters from his other series coming in to play. Hopefully, you will want to read other of his books.
I have bought (I believe) all of them through the years, one of the few authors that that I buy currently in hardcover. I also recommend his "Santa Fe" series with Ed Eagle.
Now I can say I'm looking forward to the next novel with anticipation.

I agree with several others in the thought that this book is better than the last several ( I did not even buy the last one) which were just cookie cutter books, each like the one before it.
In this book the author has actually thought out, and developed, a real story line, much like he did in the past. I am glad to see this, as I feared he had just taken to pushing out books for money and to heck with the readers who have followed him for years.
Keep up the good work Mr. Woods, it is good to have you back again!

After reading his last book, I was afraid Stuart Woods was gone forever..... This one has the zing that was missing from his last few novels. Good pace, interesting plot. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I love how Stuart Woods intertwines the stories of the recurring characters in his books. Holly Barker and Stone Barrington are my favorites. I am currently reading this book and about 3/4 through. The story line holds your interest. I purchase each of his books as soon as they are available.

Stuart Woods keeps Stone Barrington in the middle of the action. Long time readers like myself love to see where he's headed next and who he's going to take with him. Love Dino and Stone's search for a replacement restaurant for Elaine's place.

This book lime as real other books from Stuart Woods was one that once I started I could hardly put office. I enjoyed this book as well as any book of his that I have read and I have read lots of his books. I can hardly wait for his next one.

If you enjoy and follow his works, he continues to tell an enjoyable story. I enjoy his little twists and also relate to his N.Y. restauants. We miss Elaines. Can't help but wonder about the amount he spends in bed? Doesn't he get tired at his age?

Stuart Woods is my long-time favorite author. I have read all of his books, but this one was not his best. First of all with Elaine dead and the resturant closed, it couldn't start with "Elaine's late." From there it was slow reading, not enough Stone or Dino. Still my all time favorite author, just not this book.

All Stuart Woods books are a quick read and entertaining. Finished it in 2 days on back to back flights. He brings the cast of characters surrounding Stone Barrington's life into focus and it is like you are checking in on the life-drama of old friends. Very well done. The plots are not excessively deep and complex. You don't need to keep separate notes to connect all the dots, but substantive enough to keep your interest and intrigue.

I never get tired of reading Stuart Woods, especially his Stone Barrington novels. They are fast reading and having started at the beginning of his Barrington characters, they almost feel like family. They never seem to get boring and I have sold my family on reading them also.

Stuart Woods keeps on impressing me with his Stone Barrington series. I love the way he interweaves some of the characters from his other books--Holly, Lee, etc--and builds on all the relationships without muddying them up. The writing style doesn't experiment with "new fancy, long winded, different style's". Mr. Woods knows what his readers enjoy & never disappoints.

Severe Clear is typical Stone Barrington and friends. The story was filled with beautiful people, terrorist, and a plot to kill. The book was a fast and easy read and good for an evening of entertainment. If you are a Stone and Dino fan, you should read Wood's latest book.
